"ORDER UP!"
The sound of the head cook in the kitchen book you out of your stupor. With quick and precise steps, you grabbed the food and brought it over to the correct table. You gave a smile and a nod before trudging over to stand behind the counter again.
Now, you loved the little diner that you worked at. It was quaint and full of kind people who loved the homestyle cooking it provided. But there was a lot of downtime and your boss was very strict, which meant you had to be ready at a moment's notice to serve. You wished he would lay off for even a day so you could scroll on your phone or joke around with the kitchen staff in the back. It wasn't too much to ask for a little fun, was it?
The front door bell jingled, which alerted you to a new customer. Grabbing a couple menus, you gave a bright smile that only brightened more when you saw who it was. "Hello! Welcome to Sonny's Diner! Usual table, boys?"
Nayuta nodded with a bright smile. "Yes please!"
"Excellent! Right this way!"
As you led them to their usual table towards the front of the restaurant, you caught Nayuta elbowing his brother in the ribs. "See? I told you they would be working today."
When they sat down, you watched Kanata roll his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, whatever."
You chuckle before saying, "Honestly, when am I not working? But it pays the bills, right, Kanata?"
He nodded and you caught the little blush on his cheeks. "I'm assuming Nayuta still wants the usual?"
His brother nodded. "Yes please!"
You nod and take their menus they didn't open. "Of course. I wouldn't have it any other way."
You write their ticket and give it to the cooks. As they get to work, you make Kanata's coffee just the way he likes it and a milkshake for Nayuta. When you arrive back at your table, you give them their drinks.
"The usual coffee and milkshake."
"Usual?" Nayuta tilts his head to the side. "Are you trying to say we're boring?"
"They're not saying that." Kanata shot back, his hands darting for the coffee mug as soon as you set it down and almost scalding his tongue as he took a sip.
You shake your head. "It's not that at all, I promise! It's just this whole place gets boring after a while. It feels like it's the same thing day in and day out, and I don't know, I just feel like my days, or rather, my life needs some more excitement."
Nayuta frowned at your words as he drank his milkshake. "That's sad to hear. But you still like your job, right?"
"I love my job!" You exclaim. "I just feel like I'm standing still while everyone else is moving, you know? Like I've reached a dead end while everyone is going on to bigger and cooler things than me."
Kanata frowned. "You're not in a dead end."
"Thanks. I appreciate it. But I think you might be the only one who thinks that." You give a small sigh and a sad smile. This only makes the brother's frowns deepen.
However, before either of them can say anything, you are called back to the counter as the front door bell rings with more customers. You spend the next half hour doing your job like normal: taking orders, serving food, and bussing tables. Eventually, you have a few minutes to spare to talk to the Yatonokami brothers once more.
"How's everything tasting?" You ask with your usual bright customer service smile.
"Amazing as always!" Nayuta chirps.
"That's good to hear! I'll tell the kitchen to get your dessert order started-"
"When do you clock out?" Kanata asks before you can turn away.
You pause, not sure if you heard him correctly. "Pardon?"
"When do you clock out?"
"Um... not until after the lunch rush, which is in about an hour... why?" You ask, your eyebrows skeptically furrowing.
He glances over at his brother, who is practically bouncing in his seat, most likely from all the sugar he has had. "We're going to take you out to do something fun. We want to prove to you that you're not standing still while everyone's moving ahead."
A light blush decorated your cheeks. "Ah, you guys, you really don't have to-"
"It's not up for debate." Nayuta quips back, his chipper grin and sweet voice still present. "You're going and that's final, understand?"
You nod. "Alright then. Are you guys okay with waiting?"
Kanata held up his mug. "If you keep bringing me coffee, I'll stay as long as I have to."
You chuckle and tell him you'll get a fresh pot brewing just for him. As you leave their table, there's some pep in your step. You can't wait to see what fun things you'll get to do with your favorite customers in about an hour.

THIS IS MY LOVE.
Because ‘I love you’ is written in every single one of his actions, but he needs to tell you properly.
ft. Yatonokami Nayuta, Yatonokami Kanata, Maruyama Reo, Hajun Yeon x gn! reader.
cw/genre: fluff, love confessions, some angst.
Hello, Jules, dear and thank you so much for sending in another request here ! I’m sorry this took a while, but I still hope you enjoy it and that it can make you smile <3 I ended up making it in time before the year ends, so happy new year !
ଓ YATONOKAMI NAYUTA
“You came along, and my heart smiled. So, get rid of those doubts, my love, I’ve been waiting for you.”
— With Nayuta, you realize he’s in love because of his smile.
— His usually apathetic, even melancholy expression, is replaced by an upwards curve to his lips, brimming in a sweetness that is hard to place.
— To anyone who deigns to observe where his iridescent eyes keep looking, they’d find you at the end of the lane.
— It is easy to see, when you two are together. His gaze is a little brighter, that difference that makes you discern dusk from dawn; he seems more energized, the lilt to his voice a tad more upbeat, particles of sundust shining in the words he addresses to you.
— And perhaps everyone notices, and Nayuta hopes you do too.
— And maybe you already have, but alas, fear seems to follow humans in crucial moments, confusing the heart, leading it through twisting alleys that echo the unsavory sounds of ‘what if’.
— What is it’s just all in your head. What if you’re overthinking and reading the signs the wrong way.
— The sighs he lets out, alone, in the dead on night are the unheard confirmation that his feelings for you are real.
— And yet, miles separate you, each of you lying on your side in the blue light of a faded moon.
— But, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining.
— Nayuta just will have to tell you directly, then.
— Or rather, show you.
— You find yourselves on the topmost floor of his secret hideout, the sun casting in coppery hues the thousands of piled up buildings below; a beautiful contradiction, how the slums had a beauty to them at golden hour.
— But so did your moments with Nayuta.
— You found him, the one you hold most dear. It didn’t matter if it was in a place this world had forgotten.
— Because you could never forget Yatonokami Nayuta.
— Nor the kiss he gives you when you turn towards him at the call of your name.
— You can taste the remaining sweetness of the popsicle he was just eating as his hands land on either side of you, stabilizing himself when he leans in further.
— And because there is no way your mind is making up the cool softness of his lips on yours, you kiss him back, hands cradling his cheeks, strands of silken moonshine reflected on puddles after the rain tickling your fingers.
— “Is it clear now, that I like you, my cute [Y/n]?” Nayuta utters, in the sunset lit instants between his kiss and the second one you initiate as an answer.
— You don’t trust your voice right now, so you’ll speak in the language lovers do when words are superfluous.
— And you can be sure, he’ll be asking for more.
ଓ YATONOKAMI KANATA
“Your petals were bloodied amidst the storm and you still shined. When I next realized, I was the thorns, and you, the only rose.”
— Kanata doesn’t know what is it he feels for you.
— And what’s more, he doesn’t know why.
— Weren’t you another one of those rich brats to begin with? It was your fault that day you were in trouble in the rain, being robbed by some troublemakers.
— And yet, the moment you resisted to give them your pocket money and one of the attacker’s hands closed around your wrist, something in Kanata snapped.
— He doesn’t know how, or the reason behind which he found himself throwing punches until those bastards were running away.
— But he knew he didn’t like the sight of the cut they somehow managed to land on your cheek.
— “Thank you for that, but are you okay?” You asked him, checking for bruises on your nameless savior.
— You are the one bleeding and yet, you ask him that.
— “You shouldn’t be here.” Kanata spats, turning away.
— “Wait! What’s your name?” You asked, running to catch up with him.
— He ‘tsks’. Why can’t he leave you alone in the rain? Why does the sight of blood running down a stranger’s face sit so wrong with him?
— Annoyed, he drapes his jacket over your head.
— “You don’t want to know.” Are the last words he tells you, before running off.
— You stand there, dumfounded, the boy’s hoodie shielding you from the rain.
— You’ll be back here tomorrow.
— The sky dyes in shades of peach and lavender, reminding you of the sweet scent of spring. Ironic, in such a cold evening, and even more so in this district.
— You have a feeling you’ll find him again, so you wait. His jacket is neatly folded over your lap, as a stray kitten rubs itself against your leg.
— Then you spot him. Short sleeved t-shirt on, hands buried deep in the pockets of his pants.
— “Put this on, at least!” You call, throwing him his jacket. “Catch!”
— Eyes not unlike the color of the sky widen at the sight of you again.
— “Thank you for yesterday, whatever your name is.” You softly tell the young man, reaching where he stands with the small cat in your arms.
— It meows at him. Extending one of its paws.
— “See? He wants to know your name too!” You pout, holding one of the kitten’s white paws in your hand.
— “Ugh fine! It’s Kanata, okay?”
— “Nice to meet you, Kanata.” You giggle, as the cat paws at your hero’s face.
— And somehow, the way you call his name… It’s pleasant, a sweet melody shining in a world of gray.
— He wants to see you again.
— So, next time, he’s the one to seek you out.
— You always meet at the same place; the street where the white kitten lives. Sometimes it goes home with Kanata, though, and others you bring him to your apartment.
— Time is fleeting, and days become months, with December snow fading to rays of February sun, auguring an early spring.
— And then one day, Kanata isn’t there.
— You wait, with your cat friend, who meows sadly at you, climbing on your lap when the first tears begin to fall.
— That evening you leave, matching cups of ramen left to the freeze of a lonely night.
— However, someone saw this hurtful scene.
— “Care to explain yourself?” Nayuta asks his brother, slamming the door behind him.
— Kanata turns slightly around. “Don’t know what you’re talking about.”
— “Oh, you… You know very well. Why didn’t you go today?”
— To which Kanata shrugs.
— “Fine. I hope you know they left crying.” His younger twin points out. “Will you just face your feelings and accept you’re in love and that they love you?”
— “That’s…” Kanata’s shoulders slump. “They deserve better…”
— “Silly!” His brother intercepts, with a soft flick to his forehead. “And what? They want you. So you better get it together and go find them now!”
— And well, for some reason, Kanata doesn’t need to be told twice.
— Luckily for him, a small friend is there to help.
— Following the kitty, they both manage to locate you.
— “[Y/n]! Wait!” The boy who saved you that night calls, putting a hand on your shoulder.
— “What do you want, Yatonokami?” You ask, tone cold, without turning around.
— It hurts him. The way he’s hurt you, the way you won’t face him, the way you use his last name instead.
— “I’m sorry. I just… I’m stupid, okay? I couldn’t come to terms with- the thing is- I… I… Oh, to hell with it! I like you, okay? And I just didn’t know how to act around you or what to do and I thought you deserved better and so I just stood you up and I messed up.”
— A chuckle is definitely not the answer he was expecting.
— “You are cute when you blush, Kanata.” You murmur, wiping away a stray tear, smiling sweetly at him.
— “I’m not-“ He starts, cheeks blooming in crimson roses.
— “I said it’s cute. You are cute.”
— Droplets of thin rain begin to fall.
— “I like you too, if that wasn’t obvious.” You softly say, with a kiss to his cheeks.
— Much like the night you met, rain surrounds you. This time, it’s his cheek that burns, not because an open wound, but because of the searing sensation of a kiss he won’t forget.
ଓ MARUYAMA REO
“What is the point for a rainbow to hide? Let’s write our love in the sky.”
— Reo is a cutie and he definitely has a way with flirting.
— So that’s exactly what he does.
— He is not shy about it in the slightest, often complimenting you on your new clothes, telling how sweet you are or giving you hugs out of nowhere.
— Of course, all of the above, always that you are comfortable; Reo is very cheerful, but he knows how to read your emotions and pick up what you like and dislike.
— And at first, you didn’t think much of it. Sure, he is very affectionate with you, but he is with everyone else too, right? It’s not like you are receiving special treatment.
— Which, in turn, frustrates Reo more.
— Is he doing something wrong? He’s being pretty obvious, right?
— Or maybe… you don’t feel the same way?
— No, no, no, he can’t fall into negativity.
— He has to take you to a nice date and tell you how he feels directly.
— So, he puts together some money he’s been saving and chooses his cutest outfit. This is a special occasion and he wants to make you happy.
— When you arrive at the accorded spot, Reo is already waiting for you.
— Sure, he is a sunshine, but you didn’t expect an amusement park date, seeming how he and his gang usually preferred to hang out at the ramen place.
— “Hello, [Y/n]!” He greets you, those eyes of his mirroring the sunset clouds lining the horizon. “I got cotton candy hehe. One for you and one for me!”
— You take the sweet treat from him, eyes sparkly at the delicious sugary scent wafting around you.
— “Woaah! It looks so tasty! You’re the best Reo…” You thank him.
— And maybe, just maybe, because this is a date, you leave a cotton candy kiss on his cheek, giggling at the pink remnants left behind.
— To which the boy grins mischievously, bringing his fingers to it and tasting the sugary treat.
— “Hmm… Your kiss was sweeter…” He ponders, as your cheeks heat up. “What if we repeat it, properly this time?”
— And at that moment, beneath the lighting of dusk and attractions, your lips touch for the first time; a memory written over cottony clouds in rosey glaze.
— “I love you, pretty.” Reo utters, nose brushing against yours, when he parts.
— “I love you too, Reo.” Are your words, before you initiate a second kiss.
— Little did you two know, Iori and the rest of the gang are looking from afar, proud of his youngest member (Suiseki is a little jealous, but that’s another story).
ଓ HAJUN YEON
“I’ll erase the piercing words that were etched into your soul that day.”
— This man’s way of flirting is teasing you (change my mind).
— With his fans, he is all smiles and charming phrases, but when he really loves you, you get to see a more… naughty side of him.
— When he teases you, he doesn’t do it out of malice, no.
— He’s been hurt in the past, and even if his infatuation with you grows by the day, a part of him is still afraid he’ll be discarded again.
— The words ‘you are not needed anymore’ still resound inside his mind, no matter how much he smiles or tries to look perfect on the outside.
— So he’s wary of diving into a new relationship.
— But at the same time, you are so lovely… The way you pout when he’s teasing you, or how you call him and wave at him whenever you see him at uni…
— Hajun would really like to spend more time with you.
— “You should.” Anne tells him, when they finally get Hajun to spill the beans. “I know you’re afraid to trust but… Isn’t it lonely, to keep the one you love at a distance?”
— It is, yes.
— It’s painful if he stays away. And the variant of getting hurt hangs in the air if he tries to get closer.
— But, as they say, ships were not made to stay at harbor.
— So he’ll take this chance and hope for the best.
— And for that, you know he’ll use his charm.
— A cute cafe date here; dinner at his place that he cooked himself using organic ingredients there; and of course, the occasional expensive gift you had been eyeing, mysteriously arriving at your doorstep.
— You like all of this, and especially, you like him.
— However, a part of you can’t help but wonder: what does he want with me? What does he get out of all of this?
— With those thoughts, you lie in bed, listening to his music in the new noise canceling headphones you’re sure he’s bought for you.
— You’re so not sleeping tonight. Maybe tomorrow you’ll ask him about what ‘ulterior’ motives he has.
— The model’s vibrant eyes widen slightly behind his glasses when you utter the question.
— “Why me, Hajun? What are you planning?”
— It hurts him. How it seems he’s not the only one with trust issues here.
— So that’s how you think of it. Some kind of twisted game he’s playing to get something out of you.
— “I’m serious here, Hajun.” You insist, tone stern, when all the answer he gives you are the subtle expressions of his face.
— And for once, he decides to be honest. No mask of perfection obscuring the words he next speaks.
— “Because I’ve fallen in love with you, [Y/n]. Because I was afraid to trust, to be left behind, thrown away. But then you came around. And I wanted to spend more time with you. This is no game, not one that I plan on ending anyway.” He whispers that last part to your ear, a knowing smile on his lips as he feels the heat on your cheeks.
— “Hajun… You… You mean that?”
— “More than anything.” He vows, placing a kiss to the back of your hand, the one adorned with the set of silver rings he gifted you, never once breaking eye contact.
— Your fingers slot in between his. You suppose it’s alright to let your heart take command and test the waters.
— After all, you can’t keep denying you’ve been in love with him since the beginning, too. You just never thought he’d end up reciprocating.

🪐 no celestial ; kanallen
— chapter six
"Kanata was a poor little angel that heaven couldn't help. He'd always been a tough one, not trusting anyone but his little brother Nayuta, the only person that ever made him feel love. Growing up by themselves, he did everything in his power to protect his sick brother, things that dirtied his holy hands. "It's for a good cause though", he thought. But it wasn't enough, and Nayuta died soon after.
Kanata's soul was completely spent. He became unable to feel love, and adding to his dirty dealings that soon were found out, he got cast out of heaven. Fallen on Earth with his wings blackened, he felt so lost and empty he thought he could've just died.
But a random encounter with a very annoying, persistent, stupid redhead human boy would've made him discover love again."
2268 words
genre: supernatural, hurt/comfort, angst

Weeks kept going by, as Kanata was slowly getting accustomed to the hectic life of the city. He was learning how things worked there, how humans worked. As he wasn't used to being around people to begin with, living with Suzaku and his friends had never seemed to be appealing to him: actually, it felt absolutely atrocious in the first few days. They were noisy, annoying, and the redhead's friends were constantly nagging the boy to do the dishes, clean his room and stuff like that; although he absolutely hated them for never being quiet, he had to agree his current roommate's bedroom was a literal mess, as there were clothes and records scattered everywhere and his bed was never tidied up, the redhead always in front of that glowing screen making music.
Sometimes he also joined him, creating his own pieces of art coming from his broken heart, thinking that could've helped him ease the pain, at least a little bit. He still thought he deserved to die, but that boy was preventing him to do that without even realizing it: Kanata didn't understand why he wanted to take care of him so bad, always trying to look through him with those red eyes burning with passion, with life. The angel just thought he pitied him like everyone else would and he hated it, but still... his heart was getting warmer and warmer each day, to the point it hurt, beating so loud in his chest that he could hear it in his own ears; he always had to put his hand on it to shut it up.
Thankfully, the trio wasn't always home, as they were busy with their studies and their Hip-hop career: whenever one of those days came, Kanata would just spend his time chilling on the bed, looking at the ceiling and reminiscing about good memories with Nayuta; when the thoughts would start getting grim, he'd just compose music by himself, letting himself and his unspoken words free through the notes. He never really thought about going out, almost considering that apartment like some safe haven, and they wouldn't let him go take a walk by himself anyways, since he didn't know where to go.
Until one afternoon.
Kanata really thought he needed some fresh air, being the little stray cat he was: he felt safe in there, but suffocated. Those humans probably underestimated him, who had wandered through the streets ever since he was small. He put his sneakers on and left with soft steps.
The streets weren't particularly crowded there, as it was mostly a residential area with just a few convenience stores here and there. He sighed softly, enjoying the breeze and silence under the setting sun, while sipping on a cheap drink he had bought with the pocket money the trio gave him. He had said multiple times he didn't want that, already grateful enough they gave him a roof to live under, but they were just too stubborn and handed him some anyways. Just in case.
"Ugh, these rich snots... they just keep treating me like a kid" he said to himself, while crushing the can with his hand.
He walked around for a while, until he stopped by an almost empty square, finding it the perfect place to rest before going home. He noticed a group of boys not too far from him hanging out but he didn't care about them, sitting on the opposite side and closing his eyes to enjoy the quietude.
Only for a while.
"Hey, little bastard over there! Ya hear me?"
Fucking hell. He knew something was going to go wrong. He just opened one eye, looking towards the little gang with no interest whatsoever for a mere second, then closing it again.
"What, are you deaf?! I'm talkin' to you!" Kanata felt one of the guys, probably the leader, coming towards him. He sighed, already pissed off that someone was bothering him on such a nice day. He fully turned to him, looking at him straight in the eye while still sitting: "What."
The thugs laughed upon that question, trying to intimidate him. "Don't ya know this is our place? You're not invited. Get the fuck outta here" the leader spoke again, acting all high and mighty. The way they were trying to scare him away was annoying Kanata so much. They had no idea what they were getting themselves into, but he still did his best to keep his calm and avoid sending them flying. It wasn't worth it.
"Tsk... annoyin'."
Rolling his eyes, he got up. He wasn't planning to back off, having gotten himself into these kinds of situations many times before, in Heaven. He wasn't scared of them at all, no matter how tall and big they were.
"Ya wanna get your pretty face smashed?" the leader snickers, cracking his knuckles, "You're gonna get really hurt... weakling."
That single word grinded Kanata's gears, as he remembered all the abuse, all the pain he and his brother had received during their childhood from those shitty adults who only cared about showing them who was more powerful between them. "Don't you... fuckin' call me that..." he eyed the gang with an icy cold stare, growling and slowly making a fist, ready to punch that fucker. He was trying so hard to keep his anger at bay, but he felt his sanity go away more and more. His mind told him to stop, but his heart... his heart only saw red.
"Aw, Shortie is gonna cry! So cute!" the gang said, mocking him. They got closer and closer, eventually enclosing themselves around him. This was too much. Kanata suddenly felt something rising from deep inside of him, a weird energy fueling his feelings. He was so close to snapping, when his demeanor suddenly changed.
"Y'all better not want to fuck with me."
A voice octaves lower than his usual left his mouth, his once moonlight and galaxy colored hair and eyes were completely black, and a shadow of his black wings was visible on the ground. He had no idea what was going on but he didn't stop, he couldn't resist that. The snake had spilled its venom right into his veins and it felt so damn good.
The thugs immediately backed out as their faces turned pale from the panic. They ran away, muffled curses and screaming heard in the background. By the time the sun was entirely set, Kanata was back to normal, panting hard. He wanted to make sense of what came over him, but he couldn't think at all: he was feeling exhausted and his head was spinning, his body feeling almost feverish. He fainted, falling on the ground of that now deserted square.
"Aaah, I finally got it! This limited edition record was so hard to find!!" Allen was excitedly running down the streets, over the moon after yet another too pricey purchase. He was probably being a bit too hyper about it and people were definitely side-eyeing him but he didn't care, as he hugged the vinyl close to his chest. "Anne and Hajun are getting home later today, so I'll be listening to it with Kanata... I'm so excited about it! He's gonna love it!" he said, immediately smiling at the thought. He was a tough and unfriendly guy, but Allen was so happy to see him getting more and more passionate about Hip-hop every day: he knew about the healing powers of music, and Kanata did seem more peaceful when making music, or simply listening to it. He was glad he could help that boy, even if he still didn't know what happened to him to get to that point; Allen really wanted to know, but he'd be waiting for the other to speak up. He was doing his best to turn into a reliable and trustworthy friend for him, simply showing him that he was ready to listen.
Too immersed into his own thoughts, he didn't realize he took a different route, ending up in a place so emptied of people that almost looked abandoned. He looked around for a bit, trying to recognize where he was, until he saw a familiar boy laying on the ground slightly far from him. White long locks and a snake decorated jacket. He dropped his bag.
"Kanata!!"
Panting, Allen finally reached their apartment with the boy in his arms. He had already checked if his heart was beating, but he just couldn't calm down: he wondered what happened, for how long he'd been laying there like that. He carefully placed him on the couch and took a chair to sit next to him. He couldn't leave him alone, his mind occupied by any possible bad thought about this entire situation. He touched Kanata's forehead and it was burning hot, compared to how cold his body is usually. "Does he have a fever...?" he mumbled, preparing a wet cloth to place there and then he just sat, waiting.
Anxiety was devouring him more each second that passed, until he saw the boy's body trembling. He tossed and turned, groaning in pain. Allen was getting even more worried when he noticed a weird dark glow around Kanata, who was now blabbering frantically.
"I wish... I could be as pure as you were..."
The redhead rubbed his eyes, wondering if this was real, but he was left even more confused when he came to the conclusion that it was really happening. He didn't move one inch from there, though. He wasn't afraid of him.
"Who are you, Kanata...?"
With a gasp, Kanata opened his eyes again, seemingly back to normal. He immediately sat, scanning his surroundings and finding the other boy giving him a small, reassuring smile, although at the same time he looked like he really wanted, no, needed answers. He couldn't even look at him anymore, as a part of him felt guilty for not telling him sooner. What was he even going to say, now? Suzaku was a mere human. He would've never accepted that he was a celestial creature, right? He looked at his lap in thought, still avoiding those fire colored eyes.
"I'm not gonna ask what happened" the other guy started, his voice soft, "but just know that I'm here and I'm ready to listen to you, your story... anything."
Kanata felt horrible. He really had to come clean, no matter the outcome; he knew he'd be back to being alone in the streets right after this conversation, but he thought he couldn't lie to the redhead. He'd been too good to the angel. Maybe it was for the better, he pondered: after that, he'd finally be able to die as he originally had planned. So he took a deep breath, turning to the guy, looking at him straight in the eye.
"I... I'm a fallen angel."
Black wings appeared behind him, big and majestic. Suzaku was shocked, but still stood there, not looking intimidated at all. Instead, he got closer to him, looking at him in adoration.
"You're so pretty..." the redhead whispered to him, and Kanata felt his stare falter, dropping his gaze somewhere else as he blushed. The wings disappeared. His heart was a mess, again feeling like a bomb about to explode. That guy always managed to make things more complicated, as Kanata kept feeling things in his chest that both hurt and made him feel good.
"You... you should be scared of me..." the angel said, getting up from the couch and moving away from him to try to hide himself from the other boy, "I'm not some stupid human! How can you act like this is okay?!"
He saw Suzaku looking at him with a soft gaze as he smiled, "Man, this sure is new to me" he said as he also got up and reached the angel, "But I'm not afraid of you... I know you're not evil so I don't have to worry."
"You're unbelievably foolish." Kanata replied, astounded by how stupid and accepting the other was. He knew at this point he couldn't do anything to intimidate that guy anymore, as he really had no ill intentions after all. He just audibly sighed.
"I'm fallen, ya hear me? I can fuck you up."
"I'll keep that in mind, then."
The guy let out an awkward laugh, scratching the back of his head. And then, he suddenly got serious, looking at Kanata with a worried expression.
"Um, Kanata..." he took a breath before continuing, "Back when you were dreaming, it seemed like... you were in an unimaginable amount of pain. The same pain I felt in the first song you made. I wonder if I can help you..."
"There's nothin' a human like you can fix." Kanata stopped him, not wanting to hear a single word more. He knew that warmth spreading in his chest when he was with the redhead was only temporary. That boy couldn't fix such a damaged heart.
The other muttered a "I'm sorry" before going back to his usual self. But before Suzaku was able to speak again, a black smoke with hints of orange appeared in a dark corner of the living room, floating. As the two boys turned around, a voice crept in.
"Oh boy, what kinda mess are you causin' over here?~"
Kanata's eyes widened. He knew that voice too well. That demon had been helping the twins a long time ago, he didn't really think he would get to hear nor see him ever again.
"Suiseki-san... what are you doing here?"

Simple Feelings (REQUEST)
Kanata Yatonokami x fem!reader (Paradox Live)
Word count: 1821
Paragraphs: 45
-
First time ever filling a request (AAAAAAA? THANK YOU SO MUCH???) and also my first time writing something for Kanata! I love tsun boys but he's a tough one. I had a beta reader this time so I hope I did okay! The request was Kanata realizing that he's fallen for the reader! I hope you like it ;u;
✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉
It was 4 AM, and Kanata Yatonokami was still awake, and he was pissed.
Nayuta had already fallen asleep, wrapped up in the blankets on the bed. Kanata sat in front of his laptop, with the screen being the only source of light in the apartment so as not to bother his brother. He had decided to work on their new song since sleep evidently wasn’t an option. Lately, his days had been…eventful, he would say.
He and Nayuta were busy, maybe more than they had ever been, thanks to Paradox Live. It was taking a little adjustment, but he supposed he had no major complaints. He rested his chin in his hand, staring blankly at his computer. He had been stuck on this part of his work for some time, and it wasn’t even because the composition itself was posing a major challenge. It was because he had other things on his mind. Stupid, confusing things. Things that he would swear up and down he didn’t care about.
Kanata groaned softly and slumped over, forehead coming to rest on the edge of the desk he was working at, and it was all because Nayuta wanted to spend some of their prize money on sweets from a new bakery. A bakery where you had smiled at them, making every attempt to chat, recommending this and that, explaining tastes, textures, ingredients…he hadn’t been listening at all, instead watching your mouth move, your eyes light up, and how brightly you smiled at them the whole time. You had been in no hurry to get them away from the display case and out the door; all the while the saccharine smell of vanilla and sugar made Kanata’s head spin. He observed your nimble hands making quick work of closing up the box after Nayuta had decided what he wanted, the tune you had made out of the words, “Thank you so much, please come back soon!” echoed in his head.
Kanata Yatonokami was still awake, and he was pissed, and it was your fault.
All his life, he had never needed anyone except for Nayuta. He never really had the desire to build other connections. After all, he had learned his lesson; the world had been nothing but cold and cruel, he reminded himself of that plenty often.
But you weren’t, something in the back of his mind told him.
The voice was small, and he didn’t know where it came from; it was annoying in the same way an insect he couldn’t see, buzzing around the room would be. He wanted it to stop. It was seriously messing with his head. He was distracted, and it was getting in the way of important things that he should be (and would much rather be) doing. Nayuta had already noticed that he wasn’t quite himself, which he would have rather avoided, because that meant that now Nayuta was going to be on his case; how could he explain to Nayuta what he couldn’t explain to himself?
There was the rustle of fabric as Nayuta stirred, and Kanata looked up quickly to see him sitting up, eyes heavy and half-lidded.
“Nn…Kanata? You’re still awake?”
Kanata turned to face his brother. “Yeah, sorry,” he spoke coolly, hoping Nayuta would just go back to sleep. “I hope I didn’t wake you.”
Nayuta grunted, rubbing some of the sleep away from his eyes, and then looked at his older brother, puzzled. He wasn’t sure what time it was, but he knew it had to be an ungodly hour to still be up. “Hey…” he started cautiously. “Are you okay?”
This was exactly what he had wanted to avoid. “Fine.” The word came out more brusque than he had intended it to sound. “I was just working on something.” It wasn’t really a lie, at least.
“You’ve been ‘just working on something’ for the last three weeks,” Nayuta reminded him pointedly. “You can’t lie to me, Kanata.” He stared at his twin intently. “Tell me what’s up.”
Kanata sighed and turned back to his laptop. He hated that Nayuta was right. He should have known better than to try and get anything past him. He didn’t want his brother fussing over him like this, either. He sighed, and decided that this was going nowhere fast—he wasn’t going to be able to do any work with his head all clouded up like this. Besides, maybe talking to Nayuta would help him figure it out.
The laptop closed with a soft snap, and Kanata stood up, stretching his arms over his head on the way to the bed. He threw himself onto the empty side, curling up next to Nayuta, who looked down at him.
“So?”
Kanata blinked at the ceiling. “I dunno,” he muttered.
Nayuta raised an eyebrow. “Kanata, that’s not—”
“No, I really don’t know!” he insisted, furrowing his brows. He was actually being honest, but it was a terrible answer.
Nayuta hummed, leaning back onto his palms. He couldn’t think of any problems he was aware of. They had money, their songs were doing well, no one was bothering them…he was too tired to rack his brain for more ideas. Glancing over at his brother, he could see the troubled expression on his face.
“Suiseki?” he guessed.
“No.” Kanata deadpanned.
“Suzaku?” Nayuta quirked a brow.
“Hell no!” Kanata spat, scowling at the mention of his name.
“Hmm…” This time, Nayuta spoke softer. “Is it a girl?”
“Huh?!” Kanata sat up quickly, shooting a glare in his brother’s direction. “Nayuta, are you—”
The other boy started laughing, and Kanata could feel his face get hot. “Why are you laughing?! Don’t be stupid!” More importantly, why was he embarrassed?! It wasn’t like he was right!
Nayuta, though, was pretty convinced he was right; his face broke into a sly grin. “So you’re all mopey and moody over a girl?” he teased. “Gross.” He fell back into his pillows.
But really, he was more surprised than anything. While he supposed it would have happened eventually, it still caught him off guard. After all, they had been together this whole time; just the two of them, alone, for nineteen years, and things like this were…never part of the equation, really. But, he only wanted Kanata to be happy, and while it was difficult to really come to terms with, he still wanted to support him and see his world get a little bigger. More colorful. Not to mention, it was about time there was someone to take care of him for once, even if he acted like he didn’t need someone like that.
Kanata couldn’t believe him. There was no way some stupid girl had anything to do with this. Kanata never cared about girls. “Nayuta!” he protested. “That isn’t funny! Of course it’s not about her!”
“Hmm?” Nayuta fixed his gaze on Kanata. “Her? I didn’t mention anyone…who are you talking about?” he asked, clearly amused now to see that he was getting a rise out of his brother. Honesty wasn’t really Kanata’s strong suit.
Kanata growled, putting his palms to his face. This made no sense, and it was stupid, and he was tired of being grilled. “I’m going to bed!” he huffed, lying down, grabbing the blanket, and pulling it to his chin.
“Sure,” Nayuta wriggled under the blankets alongside Kanata. “Goodnight~” he mumbled, closing his eyes the moment he rested his head back into the pillows. Sleep came rather quickly for him. Kanata, on the other hand…
He lay there on his side, eyes still wide open, staring at the floor. His heart had been pounding and his stomach was twisted in knots from what had just happened—he’d never felt anything like this before, but it felt gross. Still, he couldn’t just shake off the slip-up he had made.
“Her? I didn’t mention anyone…who are you talking about?”
Your face had come to mind right away, goofy airheaded smile and all, and his heart squeezed. He never really believed in love, save for the fraternal kind. Friendship, parental love, romantic love…he had never received any of that, nor did he ever need it. Why would he want it? Especially now, and from you, no less.
Because, the voice reminded him, you were kind, and gentle, and warm, and maybe he noticed the curl of your lips when you smiled after he spoke to you, and maybe he kind of liked it, and maybe there was a softness behind it that he had always wished to be shown.
Kanata tossed under the covers, picking up and mashing his pillow against his face, feeling a new rush of heat in his cheeks, his chest, to the tips of his fingers. “Damn it…!” he whispered petulantly. Why this? Why him, and why you? His mind raced with questions and thoughts faster than he could card through them and rationalize any of it. This was the kind of lame shit that happened in movies; the scenes that he would skip, or that would make him zone out. He was exasperated with himself. This had to be something else.
But maybe it’s not, the pest in his head argued. Maybe Nayuta had a point, and he was just immature and in denial because he didn’t know how to handle his own feelings. After all, how many times had he walked the same route in the last few weeks that would lead him to the storefront you worked at when he took walks while Nayuta was hanging out with Shiki? How many times had he peered through the window or over the counter before looking at anything on the menu or in the display case? How many of those times had he told himself it was because Nayuta had really liked the desserts there and he wanted to get him sweets to have after dinner when he came home? Why else was he willing to stomach the cloyingly sweet smell of icing and fresh berries? There was no hiding behind Nayuta this time.
Kanata was squeezing his eyes shut as if that would make him fall asleep any quicker, but it definitely wasn’t working, because instead of pitch black, he could see a shy smile, sparkling eyes—yours—burned onto the backs of his eyelids. His heart thrummed against his ribcage, remembering the way you had parroted his own name back to him after finally asking for it the fourth time he had come around. He hadn’t even thought twice about telling you.
“Yatonokami…-san.” Something about the way it rolled off your tongue was pleasant—comfortable, even. “I’ll be sure to remember!”
Loathe as he was to admit it, maybe that made him happy. Tossing the pillow away from his face, he rolled onto his back and opened his eyes, staring up at the ceiling. The sun had begun to rise, and there was a sliver of bright white light against the dull paint. He was giving in.
It was who-knew-what time, and Kanata Yatonokami was still awake, and now, he was pretty sure he liked you.

I AM SHAMELESSLY MILKING PARAANI
Nah, that's a lie (oops, wrong franchise *glances at Gentaro guiltily*), I've been wanting to write a silly allenkana fic for ages, and I finally got the motivation to actually do it :))
It's cute and wholesome and personally I just live for Nayuta being a little shit to Kanata about his obvious crush on Allen. And Allen simping, because he's very good at that.
As always thanks to my personal graphic designer Anna @fullmetalgirl98 I wouldn't be nearly as aesthetically pleasing if it weren't for her

Frenemy (AllenKana fanfic)
Disclaimer: I do NOT own Paradox Live nor any of its characters.
Note: Set during the celebratory party of cozmez.
Ugh. Too loud.
Kanata grunted and stood up from the cushioned seat. The only thing that he wanted to do today was to sleep. He wanted to go home so bad but seeing Nayuta conversing with them made this party a bit worthwhile.
Noticing his brother's irritating look every time Compla Daimao hovers over him and Shiki, made Kanata snort. He's trying so hard.
As much as he wanted to deny it, these people have been a part of their journey. They won and if it weren't for these people, he wondered how will he hold on to his sanity.
With a yawn, he strode towards the veranda and was immediately greeted by the soft breeze. Kanata removed his cap and ruffled his hair. He leaned forward and rest his arms above the terrace while watching the train pass by from afar.
"Kanata?"
Kanata internally groaned when he heard that voice. He lazily replied, "What?"
He had gone outside to escape the noise but another disturbance ruined his peace.
The red-haired hip-hop junkie tentatively strode towards him. "I couldn't find you inside so I guessed you'd be here."
Kanata sighed. "Why do you even have to find me? What do you want?"
"Grumpy as always," Allen clicked his tongue and leaned on the terrace, mirroring Kanata's posture.
After a moment of silence, Allen spoke. "It's great that Buraikan accepted the final battle. Just thinking about it made me fired up! Have you got any plans already?"
Kanata just shrugged and yawned. "Yeah. Maybe. Haven't started yet. We're just waiting for the right momentum."
"Heh. But they're the kings, though. You two should be more prepared."
"The fuck... aren't we the kings too?" Kanata irritatingly and confidently said. "Don't underestimate us. We will beat their assess that they'll have no choice but to give us the crown."
"I'm not underestimating anyone. It's just that... you know, the legendaries will be up against the two of you. The reputation of Buraikan has been engraved on people's minds for years, they're going to protect it. They won't let the crown be worn by someone else." Allen thoughtfully said.
Kanata snickered. "Then we wouldn't let them wear the same crown coz it's fated to rest on our heads now. Buraikan's reputation? We already made our own."
Allen stared at him for a moment before releasing a chuckle. He shook his head and grinned. "As expected of you. You just don't waver, do you?"
Kanata didn't answer but he smirked. Of course. He and Nayuta - together they will reach the top. They don't waver to anything or anyone. Whatever or whoever they encounter, both of them will stand at the ground that they have worked to death.
This is just the beginning.
"With Nayuta beside me, everything will be a piece of cake." He proudly muttered.
Allen smiled thoughtfully. "Nayuta... he really came back, huh."
"Yeah."
Still smiling, Allen stretch his limbs and placed his hands inside his pockets. "To be honest, I almost lose all my hope for you. But when I was walking down that stairs, away from your house, something nags inside me. Something tells me that it wasn't the end."
Kanata clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Do you really need to bring that up? Aren't you happy?"
"Of course not! I was devastated!"
"Tch. Drama."
"Hey, I'm serious! I was thinking of ways how to snap you out of it. Maybe... a punch or something."
Kanata immediately rolled his sleeves and clenched his fists. "Well, if that's what you want, it's not too late."
"W-Wait, no! I mean, before! That time! I was desperate..." Allen momentarily paused, looking back on that day "...angry...frustrated...I want to do something even though I know I won't be a help."
Kanata stared at him for a second and looked away, fixing his sleeves back to their places. "You can't do anything about it."
"Y-Yeah," Allen scratch the back of his head and awkwardly laughed. "I realized that... no matter how I desperately want you to snap out of it, the pain you've felt that time was immeasurable. I'm sorry for barging in like that."
Another moment of silence.
"Well... I guess your words helped... a little bit."
"Eh...? EHH!?"
"I said, 'a little bit'!"
Allen chuckled in glee. "But still! Knowing that I somehow helped you--"
"Yeah, yeah, but after that day, I was planning to leave the town," Kanata interjected.
"W-What!?"
Kanata snorted at his reaction. "I met Shiki and we talked that day before I leave and that's also when Nayuta made his presence. Nayuta and Shiki are the ones who actually helped me not you."
"Is... that so?"
"Yeah," Kanata smirked at Allen's dejected expression.
The wind suddenly blew around them. There was an impending rain from afar as the surroundings darkens because of the heavy clouds.
Kanata wore his cap and his mouth formed into a small smile. "Still... thank you."
Suddenly, the sky roared. Lighting flashed against the clouds as it thundered, making the ground shake.
Allen's eyes widened to what he just heard. He was about to speak when the door leading to where they are suddenly opened.
"Oh, found him."
Kanata immediately looked back when heard the voice. "Nayuta? What's wrong?"
Nayuta shook his head. "Nothing. Suiseki-san's just looking for you."
Kanata sighed and lazily strode inside. "Yeah, yeah, I'm coming..."
When Kanata was out of his sight, Nayuta looked at Allen.
Allen smiled at him. "Hey, what's up, Nayuta?"
Taking his time, Nayuta stared at the red-haired boy. Kanata told me that he's too annoying and that his presence alone can irritate the hell out of him. But... I don't see it that way, though?
Nayuta walked towards Allen and stopped right in front of him. "Hey..."
Allen blinked in surprise. "Hmm?"
Nayuta smiled. "Thank you... for being Kanata's friend."
"Eh...? F-Friend...?"
Nayuta smirked. He rested his hands inside his jacket's pocket before turning around to leave. "That's all I wanted to say. Bye."
Not able to contain his emotions, Allen smiled widely and cheekily laughed. "G-Good luck! I'm definitely rooting for cozmez to win the final battle!"
Nayuta just put his thumb up while walking away.

A MILLION MILES AWAY.
“My soul is always with you.”
ft. Sugasano Allen, Hajun Yeon, Anne Faulkner, Yatonokami Kanata, Yatonokami Nayuta x fem! reader.
cw/genre: fluff, comfort.
Hey, nonnie ! You requested on my previous blog and I’m very sorry this took me forever, I still hope you can enjoy it, hun <3
ଓ SUGASANO ALLEN
— To ever enthusiastic Allen, the fact you have hearing hypersensitivity is so cool.
— To him, it’s almost like a superpower, how you can catch up on the faintest of sounds, even discerning their subtlety in all kinds of songs.
— So, it is not uncommon for him to ask you for advice when he’s composing BAE’s melodies.
— The way you can discern every variation in the symphony and how you always know what’s the best combination for it with the lyrics, never fails to leave your boyfriend speechless.
— In these instances, maroon eyes stare at you, lovestruck, the hue on his cheeks not so different as he gets a little lost in you as you compose.
— However, all gifts came at a price.
— Because your sensitivity to sound happened to be a double edged sword.
— You just couldn’t attend lives.
— You had tried. More than once. And it ended terribly every single one of them.
— The sounds were too loud, and the bright lights didn’t help either with the overstimulation the loud music already caused you.
— No matter how hard you tried to calm down, your breathing became shallow, ragged, as if your lungs were closing in.
— And you hate it. You hate you can’t be there to see your partner on stage from the first row, after how passionate he is with hip-hop, and after all he’s gone through to pursue it.
— But Allen does not only love hip-hop.
— He loves you, above all else.
— And he understands what it’s like to feel like you can’t endure it anymore, like you’re going to suffocate and like everything’s too much.
— His trap reactions are quite bad, after all.
— And he doesn’t want the one he loves so deeply to have to experience something similar to it.
— So he understands and he would never hold it against you.
— Now you wait for him, the covers of his bed snug around you, as you hold your phone screen before you.
— Earphones on, you watch intently, as BAE steps on stage.
— A phoenix flies over the audience, and a wide smile spreads on your face.
— This is the song you composed together, and you know, with it, your lover will shine as bright as his illusion does.
ଓ HAJUN YEON
— You didn’t want him to find out.
— Hajun is perfect, and you’re honored as it is that he wanted you as his girlfriend.
— For you to be this sensitive to sound… You know you’d end up making trouble for him if you went to one of his lives.
— So at first you make excuses.
— You tell him you have appointments or work on the days and time BAE have their lives.
— You feel bad for lying to him like this, but you just don’t know how to tell him.
— What if he thinks you’re stupid? What if he gets tired of you? What if he leaves you and hates you?
— These are the thoughts racing through your muddled mind as you stare at your laptop’s screen, waiting for the site where you watch all of Hajun’s stage concerts to load.
— It is strange, it’s not working… Perhaps the connexion’s just bad?
— While you’re immersed in your own tribulations, you suddenly hear the front door opening, making you jump and stand up straight.
— “Well, well, well, what is my princess doing here? Didn't she have work today?”
— “H-hajun… Didn’t you have a performance now?” You manage, averting your eyes from his vermillion ones. In the mischief shining through his sharp eyes, you know you’ve been set up.
— “I… I’m… I’m sorry…” You finally mumble, head lowered.
— A slender finger hooks under your chin.
— “Don’t look away from me, sweetheart.” He whispers, in the dimly lit space between. “Please tell me what’s wrong.”
— And in that moment, you see your own fear reflected in his eyes.
— The fear of abandonment, of being left behind, not loved or needed anymore.
— “I’m very sensitive to sounds, especially loud ones. So coming to see you live is impossible for me. I was scared. I didn’t know how to tell you.” Your voice breaks a little, your vision becoming blurry with tears.
— “I was afraid you wouldn’t want to be with someone as weak as me, so I-“
— Your words are cut off the moment your boyfriend’s arms wrap around you.
— “Don’t. Don’t say it. Because that will never happen. You’re not weak, dear. And I’d never ever think of not being with you.” Hajun’s own voice falters, his hold on you tightening. “I knew there was something going on. I’m sorry for not asking sooner.”
— After that, you never need to come up with more alibis to justify your absence.
— Your lover gets you the best (and most expensive too, probably) iPad and headset ever, so you can comfortably follow BAE’s lives from home.
— And of course, when he gets back home, he gives you plenty of affection (and teasing too). But that is a story just you and him are privy to, and is reserved for another day.
ଓ ANNE FAULKNER
— Anne is quite emotionally perceptive, so they pick up on the fact that something about physically going to live shows affects you.
— You hadn’t planned on letting them know so soon, but honestly, who can resist Anne’s comforting and kind aura?
— So you explain, how the loud music of the stage feels a hundredfold louder inside your head, to the point where it even… scares you.
— That being the same reason you don’t usually show up at CANDY Club either.
— Your partner understands, hazel eyes taking you in with tenderness.
— They sit next to you on the living room’s couch, arms wrapped around you. The scent of your lover’s perfume was too strong to some, but to you, it’s the known comfort of a hypnotizing field of poppies.
— “[Y/n]”. Anne calls. “What’s worrying you, hun?” Their hands trace soothing patterns along your back, the motions easing the heaviness of your heart, if only a little.
— You let out a sigh, shoulders sagging as you exhale some pressure out of you.
— “I feel bad, Anne… Because, well, you’re such a good partner, but I can never come to your lives or to the club you work at.”
— Their loving gaze is trained on you, head slightly tilted to the side. An invitation to go on. The promise to be by your side, no matter what.
— “My hearing… well, it’s above the usual, so i’m extremely sensitive to sound. For me to be in a space with loud music… It’s practically impossible. That is why I can never be at concerts to cheer you on. But I promise, I follow every single one of them from home, and you’re always stunning when you’re up there, Anne.”
— They smile, knowingly.
— “Why didn’t you say so sooner, baby?” BAE’s fashion icon asks, leaving an outline of vibrant lipstick when they kiss your cheek.
— “Please, never feel guilty or bad because of this. I love you more than anything, and that will never change.” They finish, eyes framed in fuchsia earnest when they meet yours.
— “But aaghh! I missed so many chances to do your makeup and hair! You’re following the lives anyway, no matter if it’s from home, so that calls for a cute outfit and eyeliner to match!
— Airy laughter fills the room. With Anne, there was no way negative emotions could ever get to you.
ଓ YATONOKAMI KANATA
— At first, he’s hurt.
— Why is it that you never come to see him and his brother perform?
— Are you just another rich brat? Are you looking down on them? Do you not support the one thing that sheds a little light in his life?
— And you are hurt too.
— Because you’d want nothing more than to be there, cheering him on, your smile, the first thing he sees when he looks at the audience.
— And then he realizes. It’s not that you don’t want. Rather, that you can’t.
— It only takes a thunderstorm for him to notice.
— You had always been skittish when you spent nights at his apartment and a train passed by, the tracks shaking and rattling.
— But this… You are trembling.
— “Hey, it’s just a storm, we’ll be safe in here.” Kanata tries, watching you bundled beneath the blanket you two shared when you slept with him.
— Your hold on the cloth tightens.
— “I-it’s not that, Kanata… I-it’s so loud, too loud… My head feels like it’ll split…”
— Oh.
— So it’s loud sounds you can’t handle.
— Thinking back on it, it is true you always turned the volume down when you two shared earphones, or asked him to do the same thing every time he showed you a new song.
— So that is why…
— Kanata’s arms wrap around you, pulling you up in a sitting position, nuzzled against his chest.
— The softness and warmth of both the blanket and his embrace engulf you. Like this, the storm feels a little more faraway.
— “I’ll protect you, [Y/n]. This is why you could never make it to our stage performances, isn’t it?” Your boyfriend inquires, his tone soft, uncharacteristically so, barely above a whisper.
— You nod, covering your ears as another thunderbolt besieges the slums.
— “Shhh, it’s all good, I’m here, [Y/n]. I won’t let anything happen to you.”
— “Kanata…” You utter, tone shaky.
— His eyes widen the moment he sees a sheen of starlit tears on your lashline.
— “Oi, what’s wrong??” Your lover asks, clenching his jaw.
— “I’m sorry… You and Nayuta work so hard and I can never see you live… I always, always watch from home, but I’m sorry I’ve hurt you because I can’t really be there…”
— “Silly.” Kanata cuts you off, with a smile that’s a bit sad, but still ethereal. “You don’t have to apologize. I want you to be safe, even if that means you can’t come to stage battles because it’s too noisy in there.”
— He holds you a little tighter, slipping over your ears the headphones he uses when he’s writing songs.
— The storm quiets down, and his arms keep you safe.
ଓ YATONOKAMI NAYUTA
— He thinks it’s cool you have that hearing hypersensitivity.
— For two main reasons: you always seem to pick up on steps approaching whenever bad guys are around; and because, similarly to Allen, he finds it so amazing how you can discern so many different notes in music.
— Also, because whenever you two spend time on the rooftop, Nayuta loves the way you seem to hear the wind, how you say it carries songs, different feelings relied depending on the color of the sky he always loved to look at.
— Even so, he’s not as fond of the sad smile you offer him every time he has a stage battle.
— Because you both know, it’s impossible for you to be able to go.
— But to Nayuta, the effort you make to support Cozmez even when you can’t be present speaks volumes.
— You’ve invested in a phone good enough to be able to reproduce audio and video in high quality, so that, no matter when or where, you can watch and support them from afar.
— Nayuta is very passionate about music, so don’t be surprised if he asks you to be the first one to listen to his and his brother’s music and ask you for your honest opinion.
— Your boyfriend is quite calm and detached, that quality being a point in your favor.
— You smile to yourself, he reminds you a little of a cat sometimes; he takes naps in unlikely places, likes to hang around the quiet of a building that feels closer to the sky than to the grey dull concrete, and has fluffy hair.
— You love running your hands through it when the sounds of daily life overwhelm you, it calms you down.
— In the same way, when the intense cacophony of sounds seems to be at war in your mind, Nayuta’s heartbeat manages to relax you every single time.
— The sky overhead is filled with stars that remind you of the color of his eyes.
— There is no moon on the indigo expanse above, and yet, that’s alright.
— You don’t need it, not when your brightest star holds you so gently.
— Your real star, this time. Every beat of his heart, a reassurance of it.
— The sofa placed on the high building’s rooftop is dusty, but neither of you care.
— You are together in this moment, a sea of constellations singing their silent love song for you.
— The world is at peace, the quiet only wrinkled by your call of his name.
— “Nayuta?” You utter, eyes fluttering open, just him and the stars mirrored in them.
— “Hm?”
— “Thank you.” You smile, one of your hands fleetingly caressing his cheek.
— His answer comes in the form of a smile, the sliver of moon missing from the sky above.
— The world is quiet and you are with him.
— In the starlight, the silence of the hour dances with his heart.

A SIGN OF AFFECTION.
Because even if silence would rule her life without her aid, he fills it with sunshine and smiles.
ft. Yatonokami Kanata, Hajun Yeon, Ando Shiki, Kanbayashi Yokei x fem! reader.
cw/genre: fluff, very, very, mild angst.
Hello nonnie ! I’m so sorry this took so long to post… I know you requested it on my old blog, thank you for liking my aesthetic there <3 It’s late, but merry christmas to you as well, I hope this new year brings you lots of love, health and joy !
ଓ YATONOKAMI KANATA
— At first, he’s a little surprised.
— Why is it that your little sister stares up at him in wonder, of all people?
— She’s a lucky child, after all. She can live in a clean house and she has you as her older sister, so why does she seem so entranced by him?
— “This is my little sis, Kanata.” You introduce her, your hands on her shoulders. “She can’t hear by herself, but she uses these headphones, they’re magical, right little princess?” You tell your sister, bopping her nose.
— She giggles, while nodding enthusiastically.
— “Hmh! I can listen to my big sister’s boyfriend with these! Kanata’s music is the best!” She claims, happily.
— Your lover’s lavender gaze widens when he hears that.
— That exact phrase is what Nayuta always told him.
— A chuckle leaves his lips, as he pats the girl’s head (even if a little awkwardly).
— “So you like Cozmez that much?” Kanata asks your sister.
— She takes a few seconds to answer, the sound processing for her in her headset.
— “Mhm! Cozmez is the coolest! Kanata and Nayuta are the best! Also, is it true you can breakdance, onii-chan?”
— At that, Kanata blushes. Both at the question and at the term she used to refer to him.
— “I-uh… yeah.” He finally manages.
— You chuckle, taking your sister by the hand.
— “Hey, hey, Kanata is a little shy, alright, sweetheart? Give him a little time to warm up.” You explain.
— She nods, while your boyfriend’s blush intensifies. You’re so precious taking care of your sister, he almost can’t handle it. If you keep this up, he feels like his heart will burst with so much cuteness.
— From that day on, your younger sister starts wanting to hang out with you and Kanata every time you meet up with him.
— And so, your dates end up involving her in one way or another.
— Listening to Cozmez at Kanata’s apartment as she tries to dance to the beat of the songs; taking her to eat ice cream, ramen or cake at cute cafes; petting the neighborhood cats, or reading books to her.
— And to your boyfriend, these moments are worth so much.
— Taking care of her together, with her giggles and your soft laughter filling the air… It feels as if finally beams of rainbow are added into the sunshine you shed into his life.
— Kanata is also very protective of her.
— Because she thinks he’s so cool, your sister tends to follow Kanata around.
— And we all know how dangerous it can be for a little girl like her to wander alone around the slums.
— So your partner always makes sure to spot her right away, taking her by the hand and bringing her back home.
— She is safe, but she doesn’t escape your scolding, even if she hides behind Kanata.
ଓ HAJUN YEON
— Charms your little sister almost instantly.
— With his good looks and permanent smile, who could resist him, huh? (That is, before you know about his sadistic side /lh).
— “Big sister! You’re dating a prince!” She says, eyes sparkly and wide, bouncing on the balls of her feet.
— You and Hajun let out a laugh, amused at her innocent enthusiasm.
— “Does that mean you’re a princess, onee-san?” Your baby sister inquires. “And does that make me one too?”
— You give her a bright smile.
— “Of course you are a princess too, baby.” You say. “You have this magical crown that allows you to hear, do you not, sweetie? I think a fairy must be guarding you too.”
— Your boyfriend smiles. Not his usual fabricated grins, but a sincere one this time.
— “Your sister is right, young lady.” He adds, taking the girl’s hand in his. “You two are princesses, so it is my honor to finally meet my lover’s precious sister.”
— “Woah… You’re really a prince!” The girl in question cheers, enchanted by him and all the attention she’s getting.
— Thanks to her headphones, your sister can hear BAE’s songs, and of course, her bias is Hajun (she adores the whole trio though).
— Anne is like an older sibling to her as well, and Allen is like… uh, the silly uncle that’s really cool when singing.
— Whenever you and Hajun go out together on a date, your sister stays with the other two.
— Anne does her hair and dresses her up, while Allen plays music for her and they all dance together.
— It’s really precious, going back to Hajun’s apartment and finding laughter filling the space and the people you love having such a good time.
— However, because she’s enchanted with your lover, your sister has taken to following Hajun around sometimes.
— She peeks from behind the kitchen’s door, observing attentively while he cooks.
— “Hmm… I have the feeling someone’s watching…” Hajun announces, the little one’s giggles perfectly audible. “I wonder whether this princess would like to help me make dinner?”
— To what she emerges from her hiding spot, running to bury her face into Hajun’s apron.
— Unbeknownst to them, you were watching the scene with a dopey smile on your face.
— You go to wash your hands. You’ll join them in a minute.
ଓ ANDO SHIKI
— Now if someone is shocked to be thought of as cool, that is definitely Shiki.
— He’s been called gloomy before, and he doesn’t really have a very positive opinion about himself.
— So for your sister to admire him and look at him in wonder… That is certainly a new feeling.
— And at first, he can’t deny he’s scared. Because what if, once she gets to know him, she finds out he’s uncool or boring?
— Besides, someone whose hands are stained in blood due to the sin he’ll never forgive himself for… He doesn’t deserve that kindness.
— So at first, he runs away from this, like he’s been doing his whole life.
— You miss him.
— And your sister notices your boyfriend seems to avoid her, so she gets sad.
— “Is it because I need special headphones to hear?” She asks you one day, eyes teary. “Is that because Shiki can never meet with you, big sis?”
— “No, no, it’s nothing like that.” You hold her in your arms. “Shiki is very shy, so he has trouble making new friends, but I’m sure he'll be happy to meet you, once he calms down. He gets nervous easily, you know? Give him a little bit more time.” You tell your younger sister, squatting to be eye level with her, as you wrap her in a hug.
— “Tell you what, why don’t we drop by Shiki’s workplace while he’s there? I’ll introduce you. You’re a fan of his group, after all.”
— And so, that’s exactly what you do.
— You are aware a bar is not the most suitable place for a kid, but you trust all the guys there. They take good care of Shiki, after all.
— The little girl hides behind you as you greet everyone. And, somehow, Ryuu’s the one to bring her out of her shell.
— “Wow wow! You have very cool headphones! Ryuu wants a pair too! Aaw mini [Y/n]-chan is so cute!”
— “I use these to hear!” She giggles at the funny faces TCW’s peculiar member makes. “I love The Cat’s Whiskers! Shiki is my favorite!” She says, waving her hands.
— Your partner lets out a strangled yelp, almost dropping a glass he was drying.
— “Come on, Shiki.” You invite him, softly, with a tender smile on your face. “She’s really looking forward to meeting you, you know.”
— “H-hello, there.” He greets her, awkwardly rising a hand for her to high five.
— She does so, with a “Yay! I’m a fan of Shiki!”
— The latter lets out a laugh; a precious sound few got to hear, the rays towards which sunflowers turn.
— Maybe it was alright, that she thinks he’s worth meeting.
ଓ KANBAYASHI YOHEI
— Flustered at first, but then he softens up and is actually one of the most caring.
— Your sister is a little shy around him at first, despite her admiration for him.
— She’s seen him on tv, and, thanks to her prescription headphones, she’s heard his vocals on stage. She really thinks he’s so cool… But Yohei looks so serious…
— “Onee-san, is your boyfriend angry?” She asks, tugging on your clothes.
— “Wha-“ Bar 7/4’s master utters, amber eyes widening in shock.
— Saimon lets out a chuckle from behind the counter.
“Yohei, I think you should drop that frown a little.” He tells his junior, good naturedly.
— The latter sighs.
— “Hello there, little one.” Your lover greets the girl, as he crouches down to her level. “Would you like to listen to some music?”
— She nods vigorously, her small fists clenched in front of her in anticipation.
— Yohei rewards her with a smile. Then he sits at the bar’s piano.
— As his deft fingers slide over the keys, a sweet melody fills the space, your sister holding her breath as she listens intently.
— Then, she walks towards the piano, watching closer how this mesmerizing melody is brought to life.
— Your partner stops playing momentarily, offering her a kind smile.
— “You want to try too?” He asks her.
— “Yes!” She affirms, as her little hands hover over the keys.
— The bar’s master helps her sit on the bench, as he gently places her fingers over the keys.
— “Here, don’t be afraid. Try here, press it softly. Yes, that’s good!” He compliments her, as a note echoes through the room.
— As you watch the scene, you can imagine the three of you in a spacious apartment, sitting in front of a piano; sunlight streams through the windows, almost like lines of a music score you’re writing in this idyllic moment.
— Despite the cold, the warmth of your lover and your sister by your side keeps you comforted, the sunny melody, a caress for your heart.

new blog from paraliveeee yeiii<3 , can I request hdncs of hug and care sessions for cozmez (separately ~) after a competition maybe?., well just a gn reader who likes to show his affection as a reward after the boys gave their all on stage: '))
Summary: How you would take care of the cozmez boys after a performance.
Pairing: cozmez X G/N!Reader
Genre: Angstyish Headcanon
Word Count: 1019
Warning: Nayuta's has spoilers for Episode 7, trauma, trap reactions, mentions self harm
Masterlist
A/N: Thank you so much for your request! I hope I did it justice! Also I want to apologize for taking forever in answering it. I just really wanted to make sure I did it right!
Kanata Yatonokami:
Every competition is hard for him
That's only because half the time he's worrying about Nayuta
Old habits die hard and that counts for on the stage
He cares a lot about his brother so he pushes harder than him so he doesn't get hurt from the phantometal
That doesn't always happen but it's the thought that counts
That's why he all but collapses on top of you when he's done performing
He's sore and in pain and soon his trap reaction is going to hit
And while he'll never admit it, he's terrified
So what do you need to do?
Give him love and cuddles of course!
Kanata's going to deny it at first
He doesn't need to be coddled like a child
But deep inside he can't deny it feels good to be cared for
Especially from you
For once, it doesn't feel like he needs to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders
He can relax with you and feel completely at peace
As soon as the trap reaction hits, Kanata's not pushing you away anymore
In fact, he can't stop pulling you closer
You need to swarm him, completely invade his sense
Hug him as tight as possible
Remind him that you are still with him even as he slips into dark memories
He wants to be reminded that he is not alone, that you are still right there as he goes through this awful pain
Imagine him like a cat where he sinks his fingers into your skin
He might even bite you
He doesn't mean to hurt you in any way, shape, or form, but he needs to ground himself
He needs something to tether to and you're the one holding him
You're the one stroking his hair, hugging him tight, whispering to him words of encouragement
He's going to hold onto you every way and hold on so tight so he doesn't slip away
Eventually, and it takes some time, the trap reaction will fade
If Kanata thought he was exhausted before...
It's even worse now
He has completely lost all energy
He will drop his dead weight on top of you
He's just so tired and that trap reaction sapped the last remaining remnants of his energy away
Poor thing is absolutely dead tired
Here's hoping you can carry him
Because you're going to be the one to carry him to bed
Nayuta will offer to help but he's not looking any better than his brother
It's best if you handle it on your own
As soon as his head hits the pillow, sleep almost overtakes him
He's coherent enough to pull you down with him
Again, Kanata will deny it to his last dying days
But he loves cuddling with you like this
He's still trying to ground himself and he needs you with him
He can't sleep without you
So tuck this baby close to your body and kiss his forehead
He'll smile sweetly and whisper how much he loves you right before falling asleep
And when he wakes up later
He'll smile fondly and hold you close now
It's the least he can do for what you've done for him
Nayuta Yatonokami:
Okay spoilers for this one but I have to talk about it
It's the only way
If you don't want to read the spoilers, watch episode seven and then come back
Okay, now for his reaction
We all know he's got that corrosion going on
There is no way it's all gone and he's felt what it's like to go through with that
Performing is extra daunting to this poor boy
It hurts to rap and to create his illusions
But he loves performing with his brother so he will endure the pain to the best of his ability
And he'll push himself too far
He's just trying to keep up with his brother
And that comes back to bite him
If you think Kanata is too much after a performance, Nayuta is worse
Kanata will at least try to act like he's strong and can handle it
Nayuta almost completely loses consciousness every time he performs too hard
His body can't handle the effects of the phantometal like his brother
He uses it too much and he's hurting because of it
You'll need to place nurse for him as you comfort him
Make sure he's safe and not too physically injured
Bandages are a must and he needs water
This is all before the trap reaction has set in
And you'll want to patch him up beforehand because he becomes erratic when the reaction comes
Nayuta's all apathy and creepy laughs
He's seen what he's done to others and the pain he's feeling
He doesn't care anymore about anything
You'll need to hold him tight so he doesn't hurt himself
Keep a close eye on him and remind him how much you love him
He's going to need it
Sure, he's going to deny it and push you away
But deep down he wants to hear it
He needs to be told that someone besides his brother loves him, that they would care if the corrosion took away his life
Really, the boys switch temperaments when the trap reactions hit
Eventually the reaction will subside and this time Nayuta really will pass out
His poor, battered body can't keep up with the phantometal any longer at that point
Please make sure to catch him and bring him to bed
Watch over him and keep him safe
Oh, and cuddle him like your life depends on it
Because when Nayuta wakes up
And you're holding onto him like he might drift away, like he's your whole world
It will honestly bring a tear to his eye
Because he never realized how much you needed him and how much he needs you
And he'll hold you close and kiss your face
He'll whisper in your ear while you're asleep all the reasons he loves you
Because he loves you so much
And everything you do for him means the absolute world to him

Hello! Could I request Cozmez headcanons where their s/o is on holiday for a few weeks, but they really miss her?? Thank you in advance! 💖💕
Btw I loved your Shiki fic! It was really cute 🥹
Summary: How they would react if they missed you.
Pairing: cozmez X G/N!Reader
Genre: Angstyish Headcanon
Word Count: 923
Warning: depression
Masterlist
A/N: Thank you so much for requesting this! I hope I did it justice! Also I'm glad you liked my Shiki fic! Thank you!
Kanata Yatonokami:
He totally acts like he's not bothered
You're gone? That's fine! Have a great trip!
He's totally fine being left alone!
In fact, he's been alone most of his life!
He can survive a few weeks without you!
Easy, no problem!
The signs of him missing you are slow to present themselves, but if you're like Nayuta, they're glaringly obvious.
It starts with accidentally making an extra plate of food and then shrugging it off, like he didn't forget you weren't joining them for dinner.
And when it comes to chores around the apartment, he mentions it's your turn to do them and Nayuta has to remind him you're not here.
So he obviously takes over because you wouldn't want him to be so lazy, or something like that.
And Nayuta can hear how he talks about you way more as you're gone for longer and longer
Everything reminds Kanata about you and his brother has to listen to his brother rant about you all day.
Anytime he tries to bring it up that he may miss you and he should just call you, he shuts that shit down so fast.
Assures you he is fine and he can handle himself.
He doesn't need to call you like some clingy child!
In fact, he's more than happy to have a bit of time on his own!
It's his way of proving he's still independent!
But Nayuta knows that this kind of behavior isn't sustainable and cannot go on forever.
As he watches his brother continue his downward spiral into missing you, he takes it upon himself to call you.
You're obviously relieved because you've been trying to get a hold of Kanata, but he's been trying to prove he's independent and doesn't need you as much as he lets on.
Nayuta assures you he's fine physically, but he's not sure how much longer that will last.
You tell him to call later tonight and then give the two of you some private time so you can talk.
He agrees and sets the plan in motion, telling Kanata he's going to go visit Shiki.
Kanata answers the phone and when he hears your voice, he finally breaks.
And I mean full on mental breakdown.
He misses you so much and he's disappointed in himself that he's not strong enough to be away from you for so long.
You assure him he's plenty strong and he doesn't need to be so hard on himself.
You tell him just how much you miss him as well and how much you want to be there with him right now to hug him and tell him everything is alright.
You promise you'll be home as soon as possible and the two of you will be able to talk in person regarding his insecurities and your time apart.
Kanata, to his credit, tells you how much he loves you and how he's desperately waiting for you to come home.
With promises made, you both hang up, feeling closer than before.
Nayuta Yatonokami:
He tries to be strong like his brother.
But it's easier for Nayuta to break than Kanata.
However, he's not quite as "aggressive" with how he shows he misses you, if that makes sense.
While Kanata lives in a state of denial, Nayuta is clingy.
You can't go an hour without getting at least two texts from him.
He just wants to talk to you and make sure you are okay.
He's never been apart from you for this long and it's a little scary for him.
At night, before you both go to bed, you spend at least an hour on FaceTime.
You both talk about your day and anything new, cool, or exciting to share.
Despite how much he hates being apart from you, Nayuta really does love listening about how you're enjoying your time.
You have so many cool stories to share and you're so good at telling them, he feels like he's right there with you.
Really you tell the best bedtime stories in his opinion.
However, in the morning, when he realizes he's alone...
It makes his heart hurt.
He misses you and wants you by his side again!
Kanata is quick to pick up on his brother's feelings.
At first, he tries to distract him and remind him that he can lean on him in times of distress.
But eventually, longer than he cares to admit, he knows his brother's need for you is too strong.
He needs to do something about it.
And so Kanata swallows his pride and calls you, asking you to come home.
While you unfortunately can't hop a plane and fly in tonight, you promise to talk to Nayuta about his feelings as soon as you can.
That night, during your FaceTime call, before you can even say anything, Nayuta speaks first.
He apologizes for monopolizing your time while you're away and how clingy he's been.
He tells you he'll try to back off for both of your sakes.
And that's when you have to shut him down.
You tell him you miss him just as much as he misses you, maybe even more.
While you can't leave right away, you plan on getting home as soon as possible, because you need him and he needs you.
You both cry together for like an hour, but it's a good cry.
Because you both know that you both love each other more than anything in the world.
And that is definitely something to cry about.

🪐 no celestial ; kanallen
— chapter seven
2889 words
genre: supernatural, hurt/comfort, angst

Allen stood there, his jaw dropped. Before them, the smoke slowly dissipated, revealing two figures, both with black horns, bat wings and a pointed tail.
Demons.
The boy felt lightheaded for a moment, trying to take everything in. If angels were real, of course demons were as well. But when he looked over to where Kanata was standing, the other looked pretty much at ease, his face impassible. Weren't they supposed to be enemies? Why did the angel know them already and even looked close?
"Hey there, Kanata! Ya seem to be makin' human friends!" one of the demons, who wore traditional clothing and was adorned in a bunch of golden accessories, teased him as if he was talking to an old friend of his. He strode across the room, the sound of his geta echoing, followed by his muscular companion. He stopped right in front of Kanata. The white haired boy's expression shifted to a visibly annoyed one, arms crossed, muttering a small "we ain't friends" that only made the man grin.
"Ah excuse me kiddo... we haven't introduced ourselves yet" he turned to Allen with a smile, "I'm Iori Suiseki 'n I lead one of the demonic clans in Hell. This buff guy behind me is Zen" he pointed to the tall man, who despite the huge appearance had soft eyes.
"Kanata-kun!! You look like you've gotten a lot better, I'm glad!" Zen walked straight to the angel's face, being all cheerful with him.
"Don't be so close... ugh, you're so damn noisy" Kanata grimaced, taking a step behind, "Ignore 'em, Suzaku. So, why are you here?"
"Everybody in Hell and Heaven heard all that noise ya made earlier, y'know?"
Iori turned back to Kanata, looking at him straight in the eye. His face was unreadable, but Allen could feel that there was something more implied behind those words. The well masked worry of the man made Allen listen intently, being himself on edge after seeing what happened to the angel.
Kanata just tsked, his eyes empty.
"So what? I don't remember y'all being my caregivers or somethin' like that. There's nothin' else we need to tell each other anymore."
Anymore? Allen wondered if something else had happened prior to Kanata falling. Why did he have business with demons? Was that the reason why he fell? He wanted to know more of him so badly, but he knew having to wait for the boy to say something was probably for the best.
"Aw, why are ya bein' so detached with us, now? Is the fact we wanna help you a bit that bad?" The demon said over-dramatically, pretending to sob, "Ya see, you and us... we ain't that different."
Zen got once again close to Iori, whispering in his ear if that was "the right moment to tell him" ; the man just looked at him back. Thankfully, Kanata didn't hear that, but nonetheless his patience started wearing thin by each second that passed.
"... Are you tryna hide somethin' from me, Suiseki-san?" the boy spat, looking into him. No matter how polite he had to be with that man, he couldn't hide the urgency in his tone.
"Not at all. I'm here to tell ya everythin' you gotta know, in fact."
"Hah?"
"Kanata, you don't know who your father is, am I right?"
"I don't... but what has that to do with–"
"I always gotta keep track of the people who work for me, so I made sure to do some research on ya..." Iori interrupted Kanata, still smiling even though his eyes weren't, "I always knew ya were a special kid, y'know?"
"... What does this mean?!" Kanata's eyes started to waver, as he couldn't bear to look at the man in the eyes anymore. His gaze shifted, and Allen felt the angel's eyes on him for a second, probably in search of something that could calm him down.
"Kanata, you and your brother were born from an angel... and a demon."
Half angel, half demon. Kanata looked down, his heart hammering in his chest. Suddenly everything made sense: Nayuta and him receiving the snake earrings when they were children, them being isolated from the other angels because they were scared of the twins' aura, their shitty mother wanting to get rid of them and calling them a mistake... all of it was because of their father. He felt dizzy.
"This... this can't be..." he uttered in a shaky tone, keeping his head low.
"Oh really? I'm sure you've always believed it, deeply in your heart."
Tsk. That damn demon was right. The beauty of temptation had been plaguing his mind since long ago, staining his heart more and more. The purity of angels had always been a dream to him. When he looked at Suiseki again, he understood the similarity: his gelid gaze was as wild as the demons' fiery one, no room for innocence.
"Now, your angel-demon nature makes things hard for ya." the demon started, his expression serious but soft, "You've fallen, so your demonic powers are finally surfacin'..."
"My... demonic powers?"
"That's right. You've always had them, but your angel side made sure to suppress them..." Muscles intervened, worry evident in his tone, "Now that you're a fallen angel, they're coming back to you in an enhanced form."
"So... that outburst of energy that happened earlier was..."
"Demonic power takin' over ya, yeah. If ya don't learn to keep your feelings at bay and control it... you might cause a real mess."
"And at that point, guards will bring you to Hell."
Head in hands, Kanata tried to digest all the things the demons were telling him. Hell, he didn't even know he had powers, let alone destructive ones. Although he didn't mind being associated with that other reality, as he felt close to it more than he had ever felt with Heaven's side, he didn't want to go to Hell, nor he wanted to harm anyone. No more of that. He had already caused so much pain in the past. His initial thoughts about dying were surfacing again, thinking that maybe he really did deserve to disappear, after all. All of this happening to him was only further proof of the curse he was bearing.
"I'm not gonna let that happen to you!!"
Kanata and the demons turned to the redhead, who hadn't said anything until that very moment. The boy looked as devastated as someone who had received the news of a parent passing away, and Kanata's heart hurt at that sight. Oh, how much he hated to be pitied. Angry tears prickled his eyes, but he managed to fight them for now.
"Oh boy, your human friend looks like he doesn't want ya to go at all~" Suiseki was teasing him again, trying to lighten up the mood a bit.
The other boy immediately panicked, having spoken out of place accidentally, "Uh... I'm sorry to interrupt you. But yes, I... I wouldn't want anything to happen to him, ever." he composed himself again, speaking firmly.
"God... shut up." Kanata murmured in a pout, but apparently everyone else still heard him, considering how amused Suiseki looked. The demon hummed happily, enjoying Kanata's slightly distressed expression.
What was so funny about it?
Suiseki turned to Suzaku again and got closer, putting a hand on the boy's shoulder, "I'll make sure nothin' ever happens to him." he reassured the redhead.
"... Hah? Wouldn't I be more useful to you if I were in Hell?"
"Ya ain't wrong, but I know it's not what ya want. You've suffered enough."
While Kanata furrowed his brows in confusion, asking himself what he did to receive such kindness from a stupid demon, Suiseki snapped his fingers, summoning three other figures: one was tall, with curly green hair and kind eyes; another one had orange hair and the demeanor of a little delinquent; the shortest one had pink hair and looked particularly annoying. They all wore tattoos and golden jewelry that stood out in contrast to the dark appearance of demons, exactly like Suiseki. Kanata thought they were also part of his clan, even though he never saw them back when he used to do jobs for the demon.
"Here they are! Hokusai, Satsuki and Reo are gonna watch over ya and teach ya a thing or two on how to control your powers." the leader proudly pointed at each one of them in the order in which they appeared.
"Ugh, that's booooring~ I don't like staying here on Earth!" the pink haired boy, Reo, whined so loudly he immediately got on Kanata's nerves. No one seemed to mind his tantrum though, being probably used to it.
"Shaddup, you brat! We gotta follow Aniki's orders!" the orange bastard, Satsuki, started arguing with the pink gremlin going on a rampage about values and helping people in need, the other guy seemingly uninterested in it. Again, no one questioned their behavior.
"Stop fighting... helping this boy is important, remember?" the gentle giant, Hokusai, spoke in a voice so low it was barely audible, and yet his tender smile was enough to make his younger companions stop. Kanata even doubted that could be classified as an "evil being".
The redhead, who had been standing close to Kanata the whole time, turned to him. "Are these... really demons?" he asked, confusion laced in his voice.
"Considerin' how noisy they are... yeah." the angel facepalmed at the chaotic sight in front of him, not sure if that was really a gift from Suiseki, or only something that could've made him go insane sooner. Suzaku giggled at that response.
"Oi! We're here for ya, y'know? You could be a bit more grateful!!" Satsuki stomped towards them, pointing at Kanata with his best intimidating expression. Kanata wasn't impressed.
"I don't need any of y'all annoyin' ass demons." he replied flatly, distancing himself from the orange haired guy. He could hear the other's overly exaggerated "HAAAH?!" behind him but he ignored it.
"Come on, Kanata-kun... I promise they'll get better." Muscles readily reassured him, noticing how frustrated the angel looked, being surrounded by so many people all at once. Suiseki joined in the conversation too, wrapping his arm around Kanata's shoulder. "I'm sure all of you guys will become friends in no time!" he flashed the boy a smile, even though the latter wasn't really sure about it, nor he was enthusiastic about spending time with them. If anything, the mere thought of it gave him a headache.
"I'm counting on ya, alright?" the demon turned to his little brothers, who gave a firm nod.
"Yeah, Aniki! Leave it to us!"
And with that, Suiseki and Muscles disappeared in a black smoke.
The demon trio approached the other boys again, their aura incredibly strong. They looked friendly, too friendly for Kanata's taste. Was he only able to attract annoying people he wanted nothing to do with?
"Mm... we're also going, now." Gentle Giant spoke first, smiling kindly at him and Suzaku, "We live not too far from here."
Orange Bastard got again too close for comfort, a confident smirk on his face. "Yeah! Just call us whenever ya need help and we'll rush to ya!"
"I said I don't– ...whatever." Kanata sighed in defeat, making the redhead giggle silently once more. This time though, the angel turned to him with threatening eyes, his cue for the other guy to quit laughing, or else.
The last one to speak was Pink Gremlin, waving his hand, "We'll talk a lot more next time! See you~"
The room fell silent after their disappearance. Kanata finally breathed out as tension left his body, so damn exhausted after all he went through in just a day. He felt weird about that entire situation, about Suzaku standing up for him despite having learned how dangerous he was, how much of a monster was. Glancing at the boy, he looked as shaken as Kanata was, but his eyes were shining with determination. He was really not going to give up anytime soon, huh.
"I'm gonna lay down for a bit. My head hurts." he simply said emotionlessly. The redhead looked at him, eyes softening sympathetically.
"I'm gonna heat some food up so we can eat later, okay?"
The boy was met with no reply as Kanata just disappeared in his room. Sinking in the messy red sheets, he closed his eyes and tried to rest, but his thoughts just couldn't leave him alone for not even a moment. He thought about his conversation with Suiseki, how he helped him without asking for a repayment, how he even sent his own little brothers to help the poor angel in distress. Being cared for, unconditionally... it was something Kanata had experienced only with Nayuta, his one and only family. No protection ever received from the woman he could hardly call a "mother"; if anything, she was the very person who had thrown them to the snakes.
His mind wandered again, remembering Suiseki calling him and Suzaku "friends". Was that how they really looked like? He thought it was pretty much clear that he couldn't stand the redhead's ass, although... maybe something between them was a bit different now, as if some chemical effect was slowly taking place. Heat rose up to his cheeks, as he grumbled to himself while hugging his pillow in a pout.
Dinner time came and went, still no trace of Pink Hair and Mushroom-head returning. The two boys sat on their bed, their backs pressed against the headboard, enjoying for once a comfortable silence.
It didn't last long, as the angel felt the boy beside him shifting a little bit so he could look at him.
"Kanata... are you okay?"
Kanata hummed, hugging his knees. It was time. He couldn't keep this secret, this burden in his heart any longer. He then took a deep breath, turning to the redhead.
"... You've heard it from Suiseki-san, right? That I used to have a twin brother called Nayuta."
"Used to...?"
"He was sick and died some time ago."
The other shivered visibly, looking down. The angel saw him listening intently, not uttering a single word. He continued.
"It's my fault, all of it. It's cause I'm an abomination. I was a horrible brother, a horrible son... and I couldn't even keep my promise to find a cure for him, despite working hard for Suiseki-san."
Kanata dug his nails into the uncovered flesh of his legs, leaving slight marks behind. Suzaku rushed to stop him from hurting himself any longer, grabbing his wrists. Their hands touched for a mere second, the redhead's slender fingers wrapping around the angel's calloused ones.
"You're not an abomination." the guy started, his eyes wavering, "I'm sure you did your best for your brother... he's proud of you."
Kanata laughed bitterly, staring at his feet as he shook his head, speaking more and more frantically.
"That's bullshit. It wasn't enough. I should've worked harder for him... I should've been a good boy like him... I should've died, after all–"
"Stop! Stop saying that!"
The redhead yelled and hugged him, on the verge of tears. He sobbed quietly, hiding his face in the crook of the angel's neck. The latter was completely taken off guard, stilling in the other boy's embrace. He's never been this close to another human being before and he didn't know what to do, but he felt oddly comfortable: his body immediately reacted, warmth spreading everywhere.
"... W-why are you cryin' for me?" Kanata stuttered, trying his best to not sound affected by the weird feeling in his stomach, "I'm a monster. There's somethin' inside of me that is deadly... why don't you get I could kill ya?"
Suzaku sniffled like a kid, raising his head so he could look at the angel in the eyes, "You won't, I'm sure of it. Look, you're worrying about me now..."
"I'm not– ugh, nevermind... get yourself off of me right now."
Kanata pushed against Suzaku's chest a bit as the latter broke the hug, wiping some tears that had spilled away, blushing just slightly. The white haired boy gave him an impassibile look.
"Look at ya, cryin' like a baby... you're pathetic."
"You're also crying, though..."
The redhead pointed at Kanata's face, a single tear falling down. His eyes widened when he felt his hand slightly wet after touching his own cheek. His emotions were all over the place now, spilling out more and more as the other guy kept on breaking the cage that contained his heart. That was the first time he was letting himself be vulnerable.
After the guy went back to his side of the bed, he gave one last glance to the angel, looking dead serious. "Kanata... I'm not going anywhere."
"Mm?"
"I won't leave you alone, no matter what. I'll do my best to make you happy."
"Shut up, I'm gonna vomit."
Kanata immediately laid down to sleep, hiding his face from the redhead, who was laughing softly. What the hell was wrong with him, saying that sorta cheesy stuff out of the blue? As he kept mentally cursing the other guy, he didn't realize he was blushing again, feeling once more that something in his stomach that was both weird and incredibly pleasing.
It felt so good, he wanted to drown in it.

a place where I couldn’t follow (a cozmez fanfic)
WARNING: ‼️ Mentions of Blood ‼️
Disclaimer: I do not own Paradox Live or any of its characters. My imagination just won’t let me sleep so I wrote this.
The crowd roared and the confetti from above starts falling.
Kanata stood there and let his ears indulge the cheering from the front to the very last row of people watching. Everything felt surreal - as if the world moves slower, making his chest throb in pure happiness and satisfaction.
They… they won…
He eyed the large screen just below the stage and stared at their name presented as the winner of the Stage Battle. Slowly, a grin formed from his mouth. The grin soon turned into a smile, wider, until a chuckle came out.
He glanced at Nayuta on his right.
Nayuta also stood there, mouth agape, and watching the crowd go wild. He slowly turned his head and looked at Kanata. By the time their eyes met, a lone tear escaped from Nayuta’s eye and released a chuckle.
Kanata can’t help but be affected by his brother’s emotions. Before a tear could ever fall down, he ran to him and engulfed him into a hug - the tightest hug he’d ever done. Kanata sobbed loudly to his brother’s shoulder and buried his face to the crook of his neck.
Nayuta slowly brought his hand up to hug him back while the other gently caressed his brother’s hair. “You did it… You did it, Kanata…” Another tear streamed down from his eye.
With a quivering voice, Kanata chuckled through his tears once more. “As it should be. As it should be, N-Nayuta! T-This is where we’re destined to be. This is what we desire. Together… we did it together!”
Nayuta brought his other hand to his back to fully embrace him.
Kanata did the same and they both took their time to feel the overflowing emotions they were feeling at the moment.
This is just the beginning. Kanata thought. He would finally be able to see a doctor for Nayuta. They wouldn’t have to sleep on that old futon and endure the colder nights. They wouldn’t have to steal for food anymore. Nayuta could eat many healthy foods. Nayuta could buy lots of clothes as much as he wanted to. Nayuta…
Nayuta wouldn’t have to suffer from this shitty world anymore.
With a smile plastered from his face, he slowly removed his face from Nayuta’s neck.
Suddenly, his eyes caught a strange person from the crowd. He squinted his eyes to look properly at the familiar figure standing in the middle who doesn’t even move. As if the person felt Kanata’s gaze, the figure slowly turns around to face Kanata.
Kanata felt his world stop.
There, at the middle of the crowd, stood a figure of Nayuta. His eyes are blank. His skin looks painfully pale and there’s a stream of blood flowing down from his head.
Eh...?
His whole body throbbed as he felt a stinging pain from his head. Kanata grunted and clutched it. He could feel his head and chest throbbed simultaneously and it almost made him gag.
He tried to look back on the figure but it disappeared.
Unable to bear the pain, Kanata doubled over the floor, gripping his hair tight and landing a heavy punch on the stage floor as he began to scream in pain. He can’t breathe and felt like something is trying to breakthrough through his mind. Something familiar…. something painful… something... forgotten.
He doesn’t know what the hell his mind is trying to do but the pain isn’t just on his head. His chest also felt like it was being stabbed several times.
He felt alone. Cold. Scared. Hopeless. Helpless. Whatever this is, Kanata wish for it to stay there and tried to reject it from his mind.
But it’s useless.
A memory flashed to his mind like a movie.
Nayuta’s disappearance. Seeing him lying on dirty and cold hard ground. Running into him and saw a thick stream of blood - the same blood they shared - it slowly fall as if painting Nayuta’s pale face. Cradling his body against his chest. The last breath that Nayuta drew. And felt the world crumble down on him.
The memory stopped. Still on the floor, with a wide and scared gaze, Kanata chases his uneven breath. The crowd panicked and there was a voice yelling from afar. He didn’t know who that was but it sounded annoying enough for him to recognize that it was Suzaku.
But he paid him no mind.
Tears after tears began to fall from Kanata’s eyes. No… please… someone… someone tell me that’s just a dream… just a trap reaction… just…
Kanata released a gasp and quickly looked up. Nayuta! He’s still there!
Just a meter away from him, Nayuta stood there, still crying but has a satisfied smile on his face. He was looking at him deeply in his eyes and Kanata panicked.
Everything seemed to vanish around them as if he and Nayuta only exist.
Kanata forced his shivering body to stand up but to no avail. He gritted his teeth and cursed. He began to crawl towards his brother. Nayuta…
He released a painful sob and desperately move to reach him.
No… please…. Nayuta… I’m willing to give up everything…. please… just please… don’t leave me… I can’t do this alone… I… Nayuta…!
Nayuta slowly walked towards her brother and crouched down. Gently, like a fragile glass, he caressed his brother’s hair. Kanata stared at his brother as another tear cascaded down from his eye.
“It’s okay. I won’t leave you. We’re always together.”
Nayuta flashed a smile. “Thank you…. Kanata.”
In a blink, Nayuta’s body shattered like glass.
Unlike glass, the pieces vanished as if they melted on the floor.
Nothing moved.
No one dares to speak.
Shiki dropped his knees to the ground as he watched the things unfold. Allen cannot stop his body from shaking, his mouth was agape. Reo stood beside Hokusai, a batch of tears brimming from his eyes. Iori cursed under his breath and clenched his fists.
Kanata tried to process everything.
He disappeared… again…
A chuckle started to come out of his mouth. Until it turned into laughter that held suffering, pain, frustration, anger…
Ah… just a fucking illusion… I created…
Suddenly, Kanata’s phantometal felt like burning. With a dazed mind and heavy eyes, he clutched the phantometal and removed it with a forceful tug.
When I go, you’ll come with me.
He felt his body losing its balance and let himself drop on the floor.
But when you go... why can’t I follow?
He let his tears fall and watch them drop, one after the other. With his shivering hands, he brought the phantometal to his lips and sobbed one last time before he lost consciousness.
Nayuta...

Nothing Ever Matters (a cozmez fanfic)
Disclaimer: I do not own Paradox Live or any of its characters. This is just a fanfiction from a fan’s imagination.
It’s cold.
No matter how he holds on to his brother’s shoulders, Nayuta’s arms felt weak as he can barely grip.
Like a newborn fawn in the middle of a freezing forest.
Like a weightless leaf floating in the air.
“Nayuta… hang in there!”
His body kept on bobbing up and down as his brother carried him on his back. The movement makes him sleepy as if Kanata’s carrying him - swaying him like a child to sleep. Nayuta could hear every harsh breath from his brother’s mouth and the weariness of his body from running for a long time is getting obvious.
Kanata stopped running and adjusted his brother’s body on his back. Despite the cold wind, the sweat from his forehead run down his face like bullets. He tried to catch his breath as he looked around.
Anywhere…. is there anywhere we could take shelter?
Nayuta’s body shook from his back and started to have a coughing fit for the nth time.
“Shit…” Kanata cursed quietly and forced his feet to take a step forward.
This is all because they would have to run around the town to escape from that stinky landlord. Nayuta hadn’t been feeling well since they woke up and before they could even eat the bread they stole last night, those bastards showed up and almost broke the door.
That rundown apartment… was the first home they’ve got after they escaped from the orphanage. It was owned by a drunkard salaryman before but one day, he left the door open and never came back ever again. It doesn’t feel comfortable, having a hard bed and a heater that could barely even function. It was cold there…
…but not this cold.
Nayuta’s body feels hot from his back as if it could burn him.
Kanata bit his lip and tried his best not to shed a tear. He hates seeing him like this. Nayuta’s health had been deteriorating as days go by and he hates how could he do nothing but carry him and run like a lost puppy in the streets.
Nayuta slowly opened his eyes. His eyelids are heavy and everything is blurry from his sight. He was about to close them again but something fell above Kanata’s nape.
He blinked and tried to focus on it.
Something small… something… white?
Nayuta weakly gasped. Could it be…?
He carefully lifted his head to face the sky. His eyes widened from what he saw and watch as it began to snow.
As snow… in a starry night….
The sky is beautiful.
“Ah! There!” Kanata exclaimed and ran even faster.
When they reached an abandoned building, Kanata carefully removed his brother from his back and made him lean on a wall. He looked around and when he saw a tattered cloth, big enough to lay down, he grabbed it from the broken window pane and spread it on the ground.
Nayuta grimaced in pain. This… is bad. I can’t move my body anymore.
“Nayuta? Hey, Nayuta. Can you hear me?”
When he didn’t respond, Kanata started to panic even more. He immediately lifted him and laid him down on the cloth. He ripped a small portion of cloth and dashed outside to soak it in a dirty pail of rainwater.
He ran back inside and remove Nayuta’s bangs out from his face. He carefully placed the wet rag to his forehead and ripped another portion of the cloth. When it was wet, he began to wipe Nayuta’s body from head to toe.
This won’t do… Nayuta’s body is getting hotter…. he’s starting to shiver…
Kanata leaned down and whispered. “Nayuta… I’ll be back, okay? Stay here. I’ll be back.”
He removed his jacket, which Nayuta newly created a month ago, and placed it above his brother’s body. He caressed Nayuta’s hair before heading outside. He looked around and saw a broken door abandoned on the ground near the entrance. With a struggle, he placed it on a doorway to secure his brother inside before hitting the streets again.
Kanata shoved his hand on his pocket and winced when he saw how much money he had. Just yesterday, they have another hiphop battle near the station and bagged the prize. They have to run away after receiving the price because those losers lunged at them and were about to steal the money.
But the prize wasn’t enough for them. It’s only good for a meal or two.
He clicked his tongue and sighed. I’ve got no choice then…
Back at the abandoned room, Nayuta slowly regained his consciousness. He opened his heavy eyelids and drew a deep breath. Nothing changed but he’s not too dizzy anymore so it’s a good sign. He’ll survive the night.
Ever so slowly, he sits up. The wet rag fell on his lap as he looked around. Ah… Kanata’s not here… His eyes caught a familiar jacket on his lap. He then looked at the doorway and saw a broken door leaning on it.
Nayuta realized the situation. Kanata might’ve gone outside to buy medicine…
With a grunt, he slowly stood up and use the wall as support. He walked towards the broken window pane to look outside.
The snow continues to fall - gently, like a feather floating in the air. The streets started to turn white as they piled up. Nayuta had the urge to feel them on his bare hands.
Despite the weakness surging from his body, he removed the door at the doorway and began to walk outside. The sole of his shoes against the snow created a sound that he never heard for a long time. With a shiver, he crouched down and grabbed a handful of snow.
Nayuta watched the snow slowly melt in his hand and noticed how his complexion almost surpassed the snow on how pale he was. He looked up at the sky and pulled his jacket tighter on his body.
He can’t help but think about the battle that happened yesterday. The excitement welling from his chest, the thirst of standing on the stage, the mic he always longed to grip with his hand and sing with Kanata together… was the best feeling.
They won for the fourth time.
Sometimes, he would think about what will happen in the future. Using hip-hop as their most precious weapon… how far would they go? When will this war end? What are they trying to achieve?
Hip-hop had become… a treasure and at the same time, a poison.
He unconsciously reached out and touched the phantometal on his ear.
Hip-hop is the only poison that he’s willing to indulge. They found a purpose, a reason, and a flicker of hope in a dark tunnel. Hip-hop welcomed them in its arms and found themselves wanting for more - greedily sucking for more, wanting to reach the top. Using their hearts and soul resounding on every music they make - they could reach anywhere.
In this sickening world, Hip-hop… and Kanata... those are what only matters to him.
“Mom! I want to eat ramen!”
“Eh? But we just ate gyoza at home, didn’t we?”
“Ehhh~ I want ramen too!”
Nayuta watched the mother and child walking on the streets with their thick jackets and winter gloves.
Ramen… Gyoza… must be nice….
The woman caressed his son’s head as they laughed together.
Mother’s loving hands… he wondered how that feels like. To laugh together… to eat together as a family…
“I should’ve never given birth to both of you!”
Nayuta pulled his jacket tighter.
“N-Nayuta!?”
He was quickly out of his thoughts when he heard that voice. He looked up and saw Kanata running towards him with a worried expression.
Kanata… he’s always wearing that expression. Just how will I get rid of it…
“Why did you go outside!? Your fever hadn’t gone down! Are you okay? You’re cold!”
Just how do I stop him from worrying about me all the time?
Kanata sighed. “Let’s go back inside. Come on now.”
They strode inside the abandoned room and sat on the floor. Nayuta eyed the plastic bag that Kanata brought home. “Kanata, what do you have in there?”
Kanata smirked. “Ah. I bought you some medicine. But I still have some spare money so I also bought this!”
He removed the thing from the plastic and placed it on the ground.Nayuta’s eyes widened. “Whoa, gyoza!”
Kanata smiled when he saw his reaction. “Yeah! That’s not all. I also bought special ramen at Raimentei!”
Nayuta’s eyes sparkled in joy but quickly died down when he wondered how much money does Kanata spent on buying all of this. Thinking about the amount of money they got as a prize yesterday, he knew it won’t last long for the both of them so where did he…?
“Nayuta? What’s wrong?”
He looked at his brother. “Kanata…”
Kanata blinked. “Huh?”
“You… stole money for these.”
Kanata gasped and looked down in pure guilt. Of course, Nayuta would realize it. “Y-Yeah…”
When he went out, he targeted a drunk man lying outside the bakery shop near the pharmacy and took advantage of the situation. The man passed out from too much drinking, judging by the bunch of beer bottles around him. Kanata grabbed the wallet from the man’s pocket and stole some cash.
“N-Nayuta needs a medicine. I have no choice but to do it again. I-I didn’t steal all of it! Just enough for us to survive tonight.” Kanata explained and looked away. “I… I’m sorry.”
Nayuta stared at his brother and deeply sighed. “Well… it can’t be helped, right? Let’s just eat.”
In a blink, they consumed every last piece of food. Nayuta drank the medicine and prepared to sleep. Using their jackets as a sheet to protect their backs from the cold ground, they finally retired the night - holding each other’s hands to share each other’s warmth.
“Ne, Nayuta…”
Close-eyed, he answered him with the same gentle tone. “Hmm?”
“Tomorrow… we’re going to look for a new place to stay.”
Nayuta nodded his head. “And… make a song.”
Kanata smirked. “Yeah. Four wins are never enough. We need people to remember our music. We need to reach the top.”
“Together.”
“Yeah. Together.”
Kanata ran his hand through Nayuta’s hair and placed a firm kiss on his brother’s forehead.
Nayuta sighed in content and gripped Kanata’s hand tighter.
Someday… I’m sure… winter won’t be this cold anymore.
The twins slept holding each other’s hands. Snow gently falling from the sky, entering on the roof’s hole, landing on Nayuta’s cheek - as if kissing him to sleep.
A place where a family shared warmth.
Nothing ever matters.
