finished the first chapter of kamudo and i like it so far. the art is gorgeous and the world building seems interesting

Omg I just stumbled upon a new manga created by the same person who made the LoZ mangas, Akira Himekawa!!! There’s not much rn but the art is so good! The story is intriguing! Go check it out, the first two parts that are out right now are free!! It’s called Kamudo

Like, no one else is talking about this, I need to share this. And Kamudo(the MC) will definitely remind you of Link, at least with the hair lol. We haven’t seen his personality yet, but the next update will apparently be in 8 days, so we’ll probably see then!

Not sure if growing-up you read the VizKids Legend of Zelda manga (or the more recent Twilight Princess manga) by Akira Himekawa (which TIL is a pseudonym for a team of 2 women as co-creators for story and art),

But if you did, you may be interested to learn that they have just started their own original fantasy series called "Kamudo" that already has an official free English release on Viz's website. The 2 prologue chapters have already been released and they look gorgeous (source: https://www.viz.com/blog/posts/a-new-fantasy-for-the-ages-kamudo)

Also, I expect furries and scalies are going to love this

As one would expect of the artist for the Twilight Princess manga, the expressiveness on the wolf anthro is top notch.

Got into a fight with Matador (level 18) (minimal grinding) only to realize I didn't have heat wave (forgot to change magatama to kamudo) (left hifumi in) so I had to eat a loss (skeleton kicked my ass) and grind a little more (level 20 now) so I could get some better demons who had buffs (my party mostly nulled force) (stupid fucking skeleton kept using mazan), ate another loss because I squandered turns (shoulda buffed instead of slapping his dick) (he killed me with Andalucia) but i got his ass (goodbye you fucking calcium filled moron) the second time around

The mourning of Ame-no-wakahiko ~ Shimoteruhime, his grieving wife, and his bereaved family [Cont. /See : Part 1]

Then the cries of Shimoteruhime, the wife of Ame-no-Wakahiko, reached the high heavens with the wind. Hearing this, Ame-no-wakahiko's father, Amatsukunitam-no-kami, and Ame-no-Wakahiko's wives and children came down to earth and wept.

The bereaved family immediately turned the place into a mogariya (morgue). They made the river geese responsible for feeding the dead, the herons for cleaning the house, the jade for cooking, the sparrows for making rice, and the pheasants for calling, and for eight days and eight nights they entertained themselves to welcome the spirit of the dead.

When his brother-in-law, Ajisukitakahikone-no-Kami, came to pay his respects, he looked so much like Ame-no-Wakahiko that his father and wife thought he had come back to life and embraced him with delight.

The god Ajisukitakahikone-no-Kami was furious, saying, "How dare you mistake me for an unholy dead man!" He cut down the morgue with his Kamudo sword ("Sword of Ten Hand-Breadths"), kicked that into pieces and left.

There is a theory that Amewakahiko and Ajisukitakahikone were originally the same god, because of their resemblance. This is the death of Ame-no-ｗakahiko and his resurrection as Ajisukitakahikone, representing the way in which grain withers in autumn and is reborn in spring, or the way in which the sun loses its power in winter and is resurrected in spring.

Ame-no-ｗakahiko was popular among folk as a tragic and rebellious deity, who abandoned his mission after falling in love with Shimoteru-hime and died for his sins.

In the Tales of Utsuho and the Tales of Sagoromo of the Heian period (794-1185), he appears under the name Amewakamiko, and in the Muromachi period (1336-1573), in the Otogi-zoshi (Tanabata story), he appears under the name Amewakahiko as Altair. All of them are portrayed him as a very attractive man.

天若日子 (あめのわかひこ) の弔い ~ 悲しむ妻・下照比売命（したてるひめ）と遺族 【続き・参照：前編】

さて、天若日子 (あめのわかひこ) の妻の下照比売命(したてるひめ)の泣き声が、風とともに高天の原まで届いた。それを聞いた天若日子 (あめのわかひこ) の父・天津国玉神(あまつくにたま)と天若日子 (あめのわかひこ) の妻子たちは地上に降ってきて、泣き悲しんだ。

さっそく、遺族はそこを殯屋（もがりや）とした。そして、河の雁（かり）に死者に食事を捧げる担当をさせ、鷺（さぎ）に掃除の担当をさせ、翡翠（かわせみ）に料理を担当させ、雀を米をつく女とし、雉を鳴女として、八日八晩の間、連日、にぎやかに遊んで、死者の霊を迎えようとした。

そこに義兄の阿遅鉏高日子根神（あじすきたかひこねのかみ）が喪を弔いに訪れたが、その姿が天若日子（あめのわかひこ）にそっくりであったため、父と妻は天若日子（あめのわかひこ）が生き返ったと勘違いをして喜んで抱きついた。

阿遅鉏高日子根神（あじすきたかひこねのかみ）は「穢わしい死人と間違えるなどとんでもない」と怒り、殯屋（もがりや）を神度剣（かむどのつるぎ：十束剣）で斬り倒し、蹴り飛ばして去って行った。

天若日子 (あめのわかひこ) と阿遅鉏高日子根神（あじすきたかひこねのかみ）がそっくりだったということで、本来同一の神であったとする説もある。すなわち、天若日子 (あめのわかひこ) の死と阿遅鉏高日子根神（あじすきたかひこねのかみ）としての復活であり、これは穀物が秋に枯れて春に再生する、または太陽が冬に力が弱まり春に復活する様子を表したものであるとする。

天若日子 (あめのわかひこ)は、下照姫との恋に溺れて使命を放棄し、その罪によって亡くなるという悲劇的かつ反逆的な神として、民間では人気があった。

平安時代のうつほ物語、狭衣物語（さごろもものがたり）などでは天若御子（あめわかみこ）の名で、室町時代の御伽草子（おとぎぞうし：七夕物語）に収録されている天稚彦草子(あめわかみこのそうし)では、彦星である天稚彦（あめわかひこ）の名で登場し、いずれも美男子として描かれている。

I had no strategy. Stat lowering moves didn’t work since he always nullified them right after. So I just leveled up, fought him, lost, leveled up again, fought him again, lost again, etc, etc, rinse and repeat

after a while i learned by accident that you can get Incenses from the Junk Shop with ten Lucky Tickets in phases 2/8, 3/8 and 4/8 of the Kagutsuchi, from the white box the manikin offers you. So I leveled up and also got extra Incenses, and i think those pushed me up over the top

(in addition to being expensive, the incenses weren’t a sure shot - you can also get a balm of rising from him, which is completely useless to me on a no demon run, so i had to reset many many times to get the incense i wanted

So my plan was Be Stronger Than Him. I equipped Kamudo for phy resistance and just kept spamming Tornado + force boost, occasionally healing with beads. Provoke still hurt alot, I can’t reverse it, but i pushed through
