All I do is win, said the 7-time Liiga champion Oulun Kärpät as they once again took the first place in the regular season. The team was excellent on its penalty kill, holding onto 100% pk for the first nine games of the season. The power play on the other hand was a huge issue for the team throughout the season, even with former NHLer Jussi Jokinen basically running the units alongside their coach Mikko Manner. Or maybe that was the problem...

2020-21 SEASON

Will the power play still suck or is there finally a winning recipe in place? Despite acquiring one of Liiga’s best defenseman, Libor Sulak, the team seems to have lost more strength in the blueline than gained it, due replacing most of the losses with a bunch of Liiga rookies. Jesse Puljujärvi has been on fire in the pre-season so everyone’s expecting him to continue his hot streak into the regular season. Also keep an eye out for Aatu Räty, who’s expected to go #1 overall in the 2021 NHL draft.

10 things to do with the kids in London this August Bank Holiday

It’s almost August Bank Holiday which means two things: one, we’ve almost survived the summer holidays and two: Notting Hill Carnival.

Saying that, I’ve never actually been brave enough to take my kids to Carnival, but perhaps 2017 will be the year.

Carnival or not there are lots of fun, kid-friendly activities to do in London this weekend. Whether you want to check out some wildlife, learn about history or science, pet some cute dogs or simply watch a movie together there’s something here for you.

Here are 10 of the best things to do this August bank holiday weekend in London with your children:

1. Butterfly house at Horniman

Get up close to hundreds of beautiful butterflies at the brand new butterfly house at south London’s Horniman Museum. Species from around the world are free-flying in a specially planted tropical indoor garden. Look out for rare butterflies like the Horniman’s Swallowtail, and watch them hatch out in the puparium as you learn about the life-cycle and behaviour of these fascinating creatures.
