The girl fits the description and Mary's actions towards her throughout the manga really clue us in.

1. Wanting to prove herself to the older girl.

2. Blushing whenever Sakura shows her mature side.

3. Losing her control and getting angry towards Aoi on behalf of Sakura.

4. Supported Sakura all the way in stopping Aoi despite the risks.

And...

Mary, your crush is showing 🙄

But I'm loyal to YuMary so I'm going to be really honest.

This is just my opinion, okay?

I think that Mary is really attracted to people she can look up to. The big breasts part is true but not the most important.

Mary likes people she can respect because they are genuine and noble. It doesn't matter if what you believe in is very questionable or if you are weak, as long as you have honesty and honor, Mary can respect you.

I think what Tsuzura really meant is Mary likes people who are more "matured" than Mary and have big breasts. Because if it's literally just someone serious with big boobs then Itsuki better not let Mary meet Miroslava Honebami. 😅 (but I saw them met on Kari and Mary was speechless so

What I'm trying to say is Mary has a thing for people who, in her standards, are naturally better than her/out of her league. If you read Kakegurui Futago then you'll see how Mary kept on insisting that Sakura is stronger than her, and even though Sakura admits that because of Mary she learned that she's actually weak, knowing Mary, I'm certain that this only solidified her belief that Sakura is someone she can look up to.

Now, where is Mary's other half in all of this?

Even from the start, the author already wanted to establish that Yumeko is not your typical oujo-sama chic, but despite that she's also true to being a kakegurui and firm in her belief in gambling.

We can see her being genuine here

Notice that Ryota here is on the verge of discovering what kind of person Yumeko really is. We will also find out that Yumeko is not like this towards Ryota alone but she is like this towards the people she thinks are worthy AND she is like this because of her love for gambling.

The gambling that Yumeko loves is the one where everyone is at risk of losing, she loves the equality gambling gives. She wants all players to have a fighting chance. The shipper in me wants to focus on the part that Yumeko might be very pissed off at Yuriko here because she hurt Mary but knowing Yumeko, I am certain that even if it was not Mary who was there before her our main protag will still call Yuriko out because Yuriko's ways rob gambling of the fun that always excites Yumeko. This is how we know that Yumeko values honor.

Yumeko is effortlessly herself, at least that's what the author revealed to us so far, and most characters in Kakegurui didn't like her or were wary of her at the beginning because of this. But this is also something they envy about Yumeko and later appreciated. Because after getting to know her, they also gained the will to be more true to theirselves.

So...

Yumeko is serious/matured. CHECK.

Yumeko have big breasts. CHECK.

The conclusion is that our dear Mary LIKES Yumeko.

If you think about it, this really explains Mary's fixation on Yumeko.

Don’t ignore Kakegurui Futago

So, this is probably a little far off, but I hope the spin off about Mary (Kakegurui Futago) gets more chapters soon. For those that might not know, Kakegurui Futago is a prequel to Kakegurui and explains how Mary got to where she is when we first meet her in Kakegurui. If there is a second season of Kakegurui that I’m sure will happen (it fkn better), I would kinda want Futago to maybe in between. Idk if I’m the only who likes Mary that much, but I’d like to see it animated if there were more chapters by that time. There is also a girl in Mary’s part and I’m really curious what happens to her since she’s yet to be seen in Kakegurui (even in the manga). I wonder if she’ll make a grand appearance at some point and it’d be really important to Mary depending on what happened, but I guess we’ll see. Even if it doesn’t come before the second season, I’m hoping it’ll be at least after.
