There is an underlying something in his face that she can't pinpoint. He carries a sword with a black hilt that is painted with golden shimmering foxes. Tashi= part of the friend group jamyang knows ("nice and open-minded Tashi, aged fifteen from the Western Air Temple" this is apart of the stereotype; the Tashi's from the Eastern and Northern temple are mean and strict while the Tashi's from the Western and Southern temples are way more nice and open-minded. Chitkul, Himachal Pradesh
Chitkul (or Chittkul) is a village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. During winters, the place mostly remains covered with the snow and the inhabitants move to lower regions of Himachal.
In the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh lies Chitkul, a little village. At a height of 3450 metres, it is the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border, as well as also the last location in India one can travel to without a permit. Travelers typically remain at Sangla and plan a return trip to Chitkul the same day. The river Baspa is a constant companion on this trip from Sangla. The surroundings, like the rest of Himachal, are included snow clothed mountains as well as differing tones of apple orchards, mustard areas as well as vegetation. The valley is known for its great quality potatoes and peas. The weather, cold and unpredictable, can be harsh. The Goddess of Chitkul resides in a temple here believed to be 500 years of ages. Reverence to the siren is a should by the Parikrama pilgrims.
The Kagyupa temple has a highly valued old image of the Shakyamuni Buddha, a Wheel of Life mandala and four Directional Kings on either side of the door. Chitkul is practically the last point of the famous Kinner Kailash Parikrama as one can hitch a hike from here onwards.
After one crosses over the 5,242 m high Charang Pass, it is a long and steep run down through slithery scree slopes to Chitkul(3,450m). The powerful goddess of Chitkul is the only non-Buddhist deity to which respect must be paid by the Parikrama pilgrims. Chitkul is situated around 40 km from Karcham, the place where road bifurcates from Hindustan-Tibet Road (NH 22). The Sangla Valley is a delight for nature lovers; especially the stretch after Raksham and right up to Chitkul. The valley is extremely beautiful, on the left bank of the Baspa River are snow-clad mountains and on the right bank the whole terrain is full of apple orchards and wooden houses.
Chitkul is start point for Lamkhaga pass trek and Borasu pass trek. Nagasthi ITBP post is 4km and Ranikanda meadows is 10km trek from Chitkul.
How to reach Chitkul :
1. Bus : Delhi – Simla – Chitkul
Delhi – Chitkul
2. Rent-a-Car : From Delhi
3. Train – Nearest railway station is Dehra Dun

Swyambhunath Temple(Monkey Temple)
Boudhanath Temple
Buddhism is the second greatest religion after Hinduism in Nepal. About 11 percent of Nepal’s population practice Buddhism consisting mainly of groups of Tibeto-Burman origin. The area of Swayambhunath and Boudhanath are the centre of Buddhism in Kathmandu. Most of the Buddhism followers exist in the Himalayan range and other parts of Nepal.
According the buddhism there are four communities:
The Hinayana Community: The devotees of Hinayana community, they take Buddha as a common and normal person. According to the hinayana community , it is not a good idea to twist the principles and suggestions of Buddha and if somebody wants to deviate unnecessarily, it is a great crime. Hinayana is a narrow concept in Buddhism known as “Therabad”. This is a traditional concept, developed and extended in South India, Srilanka, Burma etc. This community believes that all the hinayana people they can’t enlighten but only the holy and sacred person can be enlightened .
Mahayana Community: It is a wide concept in Buddhism. The literature of the Mahayana community has been written in Sanskrit language. According to the Mahayana concept, Lord Buddha is not a common and normal person but he is taken as a god and enlightened personality. The followers of Mahayana started to create different kinds of statues of Buddha and began to worship it. The concept of bodhisattva is very important.
Within the Mahayana community, there are four parts, which are Nyingmapa, Kagyupa, Shakyapa, and Gelugpa.
Nyingmapa: The Nyingmapa was started in the 8th century and still exists in Tibet and the himalayan ranges of Nepal. The renowned person Guru Rinpoche is related to this concept. Normally the followers wear white clothes and they have long hair.
Kayupa: The founder of Kagyupa was Marpa. He studied for nearly 21 years about the Kagyupa concept.
Shakyapa: The next is the Shakyapa religion concept which is also very important in Buddhism. Nearly, all the gompas of mustang district are related with the religion Shakyapa.
Gelugpa: The last one is the gelugpa concept and the founder of Gelugpa religion was Chongkhaba. All the Gelugpa followers use yellow hats and the famous Dalai lama III was related to this religion.
The Bajrayan Community: The word Bajrayan is derived from the word Bajra. It is believed that the bajrayan community in Buddhism developed in the 7th century and exists only in Nepal and Tibet. All the Bajrayan followers believe that one can get liberation through tantric and praying methods or it is related to the word Tantra-mantra and supernatural power or force. In Nepal, the Bajracharya are the followers of Bajracharya community and still carry the duties as the head of the communities and participate in daily rituals in temples.
The Tantrayana Community:The Tantrayan community is the last sect of Buddhism. It was developed after the Bajrayan community and this tantrayana community is nearly the same as bajrayan because the tantrayana followers also have faith that anyone can liberation through the tantric way.
Stay tuned for more post related to Buddhism.
