A Day Trip to Gengay Latsho Lake
If you're looking fo a day hike in Thimphu; something hard and special place to explore or something remarkable to see, you can be sure to challenge this amazing hike to the remote and unexplored Gengay Latsho Lake. It is perhaps the only difficult and most challenging day hike in Thimphu,  because of its steep ascent and descent. The steep trail climbs reach above 4200m covering almost 32k distance and takes around 14 hours walk (in total) to complete.

The trail is mind-blowing in its own right, and have truly epic landscapes above the tree line, giving a jaw-dropping lookout a hiker could want.  But the glorious Gengay Latsho itself is what make this hike so extraordinary and sure to put smile on every hikers face.

Bhutan is home to many mountain peaks and among them the mount Gangkar Puensum is the tallest. The surrounding area towards south of Gangkar Puensum is the ultimate nirvana that trekkers seek. Here nothing beats the excitement and thrill while ascending up close to mount Gangkar Puensum.

Like the rest of the countries,  Bhutan too has banned entry of tourist to the country since March 2020 because of the covid-19 pandemic. The country has suffered a lot.
After the rising vaccination rates (2nd Jab) Bhutan is seeing small improvement taking place in the country. Things are coming back to normality and Covid - 19 cases are declining day by day.
In a recent news release, Bhutan is also taking the baby steps in re-opening its borders once again to the international tourists. Hope things will be better as days goes by.

With more than a year into the pandemic, the COVID-19 impact on the life of all the people working in tourism and hospitality industry in Bhutan is devastating. If the pandemic goes on like this, maybe things could become even more difficult.
For now we see brighter future in this second dose and we pray that this new vaccine will bring hope to the industry.

A solo trip to sacred Dungtsho Lake (4280m).
This beautiful lake rest among deep and beautiful mountain valley above Phajoding goemba and is considered a very sacred by many Bhutanese. The journey forward from Phajoding to Dungtsho takes around 4 hours at an average speed. Once you reach the first mountain pass, the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayan mountains kick in. The path is well trodden and no way one can get lost. Spending time, looking around the breathtaking mountain landscapes and several other small lakes along the path are worth it's while.

I’m connected and a kind of excited always to reach out to unearth and amazing array of personal experience inside nature, even in the midst of all the challenges and a seemingly never-ending pandemic. Nothing last forever, so when you have nature within you, take the chance to live it up and never have the regret; because nature heals.
