Summary: Kagome Higurashi is cursed. At least, that's how she feels. She is cursed with knitting her boyfriend a sweater for Christmas and them breaking up with her. This coming Christmas with newfound love, she is determined to hold off on any knitting. No matter how badly she wants to.

Since she was small, Kagome’s favorite time of year was winter. Though the season brought a biting chill, her heart could always be warmed by thick, woolen clothes and a hot beverage. This year, she was warmed by Sesshomaru’s gloved hand firmly wrapped around hers.

As they walked down the city street, snowflakes flicked and swooshed through the air in a spritely dance. Under the dim, warm lights of the streets, she could imagine them as tiny fairies celebrating the season. Squinting her eyes, she imagined the imaginary sprites skating across an invisible plane of ice. Filled with immense joy, Kagome sighed loudly and gently squeezed her partner’s hand.

“Hey Sesshomaru, I had a thought.”

“You tend to have quite a few of those,” he replied. A smirk stretched across his lips at her pout.

“Ha ha, very funny. I was wondering if you’d want to go ice skating. There’s a rink nearby and it’s a lot of fun.”

“If it pleases you,” Sesshomaru replied.

“It would please me, thank you very much!” Kagome replied, a giddy smile brightening her features. Swiftly, she changed their direction towards the ice rink.
