anyways heres some misc jamba cult info from the japanese version of star allies the official translation removed/changed the meaning of i found a couple days back (fan translations can be found here)

-this is implied but misworded in english, the jamba cult worships dark matter rather than be masters of it (this is prob why gooey gets positive nickname privileges from zan on twitter)

-the magic n science ancients old relationship prior to the magic clans ban is explicitly positive in japanese

-english hyness says magic overcame science n reached prosperity, japanese says science n magic could only reach prosperity when together

-for wtv reason, english replaced one of the mentions of the "book of legends" (the book abt void hyness has) w talking abt ambiguous ancient scrolls instead...?

-theres some references to a paradise void will destroy in the japanese screens w that one cult prayer that were cut from english (the second n fourth ones specifically iirc), the sisters guest star screens make references to paradise as well, make of that what you will regarding the religious side of the cult

-most if not all instances of void being called dark lord r used to censor out void being called god/god of destruction in the original version

-pon & cons japanese title (a-un guardian beasts) is a reference to a buddhist concept of beginning n ending, the pause screen states they surrendered to the enemy n thats why theyre doing guard work there, rather than they became cultists off screen between games like one might assume

-japanese hyness uses ~ when talking a lot, while most ppl associate that w a character having a sweet cute voice tone, for him it likely just indicates he tends to drag out the end of words a lot

-fully removed from english, hyness has a complex abt his face, which is why its so well covered

-zans second boss screen in english credits her loyalty to hyness' intoxicating charisma n her sense of duty, while japanese later does canonize she has a strong sense of duty in a different screen, it instead says for the second boss she feels indebted he took her in n is also "enamoured" by his charisma n "admires him from within the heart", quoting the used wording bc i think shes both adorable n so deeply worrisome

-weve all heard the english translation censored zan being heavily implied to have attempted suicide n being saved by hyness after it fails (succeeds?) after shes struck by lightning n nearly dies/gets bought back by him.wtv take on hyness saving the mages you prefer

-zan is never called the eldest of the sisters in the original, just the chief of the trio

-hyness misremembers zans name as zan paruru, a pun on the japanese word for forgotten (wasuraruru), that same pun is used for her boss themes title

-one of zans attacks in japanese is named after the "thunder candies" (type of wagashi) found in kaminarimon, where a statue of the shinto thunder god raijin is found, zans drums used during that same attack r literally based on raijins own drums

-zans first boss screen claims she toys w her enemies through her quick attacks rather than render them helpless like prey.just mentioning bc thats silly n has a slightly new show of her personality that line up w her depiction on the official twitter in a way

-flamberge wasnt taking a break in her second boss fight she was just slacking off n picked a nice star/planet on purpose for that.thats funny of her so its justified

-flamberge calls francisca kiss-chan in japanese, this is the same nickname zan gives her in japanese thats officially translated as franny

-this isnt mentioned in the documents but im bringing it up bc its funny.that part of HIAD where francisca calls flamberge "miss flamberge" was just flamberge-san in jp, -san is just a polite honorific to use that isnt immediately translated to miss/mister, specially if the characters know each other.why did they make it that lmao

-japanese explicitly says too much heat might straight up make francisca melt (english also implies that tbf)

-francisca dislikes "pointless murder", but is fine freezing ppl n keeping them for her collection if she deems them an enemy

-hyness' japanese title can be read as both mage priest n devil priest

-the sisters titles all have a reoccurring use of ice blossom, hellfire n thunder fang respectively, n theyre called the demon generals instead of mage sisters

-HIAD hyness' title fell priest has a reference to fallen angels.i feel thats giving pre corruption hyness too much personality credit but alright

-void is refered to both as devil n angel in different forms titles.this is awesome

-theres a kanji for hope thats associated w the jamba cult throughout the whole game

-the japanese guest star screens for the mages say theyre no longer praying n r seeking a new paradise together, for whatever reason, english completely removes the no longer praying part, completely losing the meaning of the sentence n development the sisters have (interestingly, hyness is mentioned in those n still called their master, n zans description straight up states she wants him to watch her triumph (translated officially as her wanting to make him proud), so its not actually explained if they disbanded the cult or theyre just.some kind of normal religion now? but theyre atleast touching grass now)

todays conclusion is the KSA translators just hate us 👍 check the linked fan translation for more examples of that

Anyways my blocklist is so extensive that sometimes I miss drama entirely just because I've already had people blocked for being mildly annoying in the past. I have learned to fear the Kirby community, and as such have not been posting nearly as much for it. I don't want to be noticed by all these people because at this rate there's a 50/50 shot that it'll go Real Bad.

Part of that established fear comes from none other than the accused!

imagine being told by a buddy that you're the coolest thing since cool in a server run by Purrs, and nervous but wanting to reach out, you ask to join that server. You read the rules, figure out channels, get the vibe of the people there and figure out the tone needed for their jokes and all that, just hang out.

Get timed out for breaking the rule on NSFW content. The infraction was stating the source for an image of Haltmann with a gun, captioned "stop drawing porn of my daughter," which I thought was a one-two punch of comedy and you know what?? People in the server agreed and thought it was hilarious!

Because the joke was raunchy though, it gets written in spoiler text, with an appropriate warning tacked on for Raunch.

I am told it is Unacceptable by Purrs and am silenced. Naturally I'm fuckin embarrassed! I fucked it up catastrophically on day one and broke a critically important rule! So I left, apologizing to Purrs as I went. I fucked up big time.

The next day I am told by the same buddy that they were very confused, because Purrs and their friends were joking about queefs the day earlier. Not joking, or exaggerating.

I have to admit that besides that, none of our ""beef"" is so direct. Besides fostering someone who Purrs seriously fucked up in my own server, we haven't talked since. Except that I DO know that very same buddy who invited me in the first place got in quite a bit of trouble for pointing out that Kumazaki stated in the KSA Artbook that Hyness was the mage sisters' father. THAT one got them blocked in my book, because fuck that. Since then I know that at some point, despite the two of us never interacting again, I was blocked by Purrs for some unknown reason.

I've spent quite a bit of time just passively understanding that Purrs was a dick, isolating people and picking favorites, fandom junk aside. But I ALSO knew that Purrs' friend group was huge and that most people were quite fond of them, so I just removed myself from all possible circles and all possible future ties. I basically isolated myself completely just because I knew Purrs couldn't be trusted.

I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that having this post in the open is a relief and a weight lifted. This space now feels just a little bit safer.

Recently, they made a post talking about a targeted smear campaign against them. As someone who used to be a close friend of theirs, I wanted to share my experiences.

On the surface they're certainly charismatic and easy to talk to, but they've never been able to hold down any relationship deeper than that due to their own faults. In all the time I've known them personally, they've shown to be nothing but an incredibly self-absorbed, toxic, and manipulative person who is unable to accept fault or responsibility for a situation they caused or got wrapped into of their own volition. Time and time again I've given them chances and chances and tried to reach out to them and be understanding and thought the best of them only to be let down by them as a friend and told, actually, I'm the problem, no matter what that situation is. If you try to come up to them about a concern, or tell them you they shouldn't do whatever thing, they will apologize to your face, but in reality, they'll always claim it was a You problem. For example, one time Purrs broke a preestablished rule of our friend group chat. We had that rule written down and put in pins, even. When I told them to stop, they made it out to be me "not letting them speak when something bad happened to them again" and that I was being mean to them by telling them to stop in the first place. This is the kind of person Purrs is. They never apologized about their actions and still think that I wronged them to this day.

Purrs claims that no one has ever come up to them telling them what the issue is. This is BLATANTLY untrue. It is a long, long pattern spanning many years with them that they will avoid confrontation at any costs, even if that confrontation is as simple as a "hey, could you not do this?". They have ghosted people for coming up to them about concerns, and will often dodge around the concern in the first place. Purrs if you're reading this, I have personally tried to reach out to you about concerns only for you to say "I would tell you if I had a problem with you" and then go to the extent of leaving voice chats when I join, softblocking me from your priv, and actively avoiding me wherever I am, without warning or explanation, all for having the audacity to ask you if there was an issue in the first place. And I am not the first person you have done this to, by far. I have personally witnessed you do this to another person not including me, just in the slightly more than a year we were friends. I have spoken to people who were friends with you years before I was friends with you who had the same experience. You have told us stories of how "overbearing" and "clingy" others have been in the past for daring to constantly ask if you had an issue with them due to your poor treatment of them. And despite your claimed "I would tell you if I had a problem with you" attitude, I personally have seen you actively avoid Another two people when they tried to be friendly with you, only for you to shittalk them to absolute hell in our friend group chat about things they could never have known were rubbing you the wrong way, or about things that were, quite frankly, stupid of you to make their fault anyways. Remember that time you got mad at someone because their headcanons were getting more attention than yours? Remember that time you hated someone's guts and ranted about them on multiple occasions in our group chat because you were upset they didn't use tone tags, and then when I said "You should tell them you need tone tags" you got pissed at me instead for not letting you vent? Good times /s

Purrs does not care about fixing problems any problems they cause. They are one of the most hypocritical people I have ever known. If you ever try to act like everything is anything but rainbows and sunshine, they will distance yourself from you and shittalk you behind your back before you even realize. They are the one that will make all these false and exaggerated claims about others. I have witnessed it again and again over situations I was there for, even. Again Purrs, if you are reading this, despite what you think and what you keep telling people, I'm not the reason this supposed smear campaign of yours has come up again. Everyone who speaks ill of you does so because of their own experiences with you. Everyone who I have spoken to about you did not have their opinion changed because of me; those were always their experiences from the start. I just made them realize that this has always been a pattern with you. I'm not going to say that I have never been in the wrong ever, and there are times I genuinely believe you've been unfairly treated and gotten the short end of the stick, but overall in this situation, I know that I am in the right due to the sheer amount of people you've fucked over the exact same way you have me. You are a shitty friend and a shitty person. I cannot express the countless amount of people you have fucked up badly by betraying our trust. It would do everyone well to stay away from you.

To anyone else who has had bad experiences with Purrs, I encourage you to state them on my post. Their behavior has always been a trend, but for the most part, everyone affected has been courteous enough to keep it in the private space. I am done with them playing the victim and I am done with others being hurt by them.

This is more of a request/question than a submission so feel free to ignore if you don't take asks like this!! but do you know anything about the whole "true colors" or "true form" business going on with Marx relating to his boss form??

It confuses me so much so i wanted to know if you've seen any cool facts about him involving whether or not the form with his wings is his "true form" or not. I've seen some debates about it but at this point I don't even know what to think loll, because if his wings are his "true form" that implies he just naturally has them? so what the hell did Nova even do for him? I can't tell if its a misunderstanding, weird vague lore, or if I'm just going crazy :P

it was confirmed in the KSA artbook marxs second form is indeed his true form ! its said in dedede directory his goal was just to be free to pull as many pranks as he wants w the wish of controlling the planet, but as far as ik its not expanded beyond that on what was stopping him before n what nova actually did for him

anyways heres some misc info on the jamba cults development from the artbook, note these were google translated through lens n might not be accurate lol

-the original set characteristics for the mages were francisca would be girly, gentle n introverted, flamberge sporty n passionate n zan mature n sincere, these would be reflected in their designs where the shapes of their weapons appeared behind their heads (frans would resemble a bow, berges a ponytail n zans long free hair)

-flamberges dialogue indicated she had less faith than the other 2, so its noted her hair covering her hats symbol in one of her betas (the ponytail one) would fit that, in the final (unclear how long it was. between beta n final for this, but personally i doubt much was altered) dialogue this lack of faith is kept (she only fights you for hurting francisca n later on slacks on the job (from the jp screen, translated in english shes just taking a lil break)) but the hair covering symbolism is lost

-while looking through the sisters many betas, youll likely notice that flamberge sometimes has the leaders hat:her final design page confirms she was considered for the leader, but they decided her personality would shine best if she wasnt

-youll also notice there once was a beta design where zan seems to have been one of those excited super happy characters.this depiction would age soon after.

-zan had an initial short beta name that lens is saying translates as "paruza", later on in her final design page its mentioned her name was actually gonna be even longer, but the UI couldnt show all of it, meaning technically, her full name ended up still an abbreviation

-hyness final character is meant to be a religious version of a mad scientist, essentially

-occasionally lens will translate hes related to buddhism, n sometimes just say magic, its v likely magic is the intended word of the sentence ("but rather a high ranking leader who is skilled in magic" in relation to the scientist thing) but do you see why i dont trust lens that much those r WILDLY different implications

-the cults symbol present in the sisters hats is an eye in the middle of an heart, which mixes both of the cults associated symbols together, this is much more obvious in older designs for the symbol

-the jambastion is designed after a katar, an indian dagger, interestingly, wikipedia notes cerimonial katars have been used in worship, going from the source being a book discussing tamil culture, this is likely from hinduism, this continues the trend the cult has references to multiple religions

-jambandra in the meantime, is designed after the holy grail, a religious treasure from the arthurian legends, its usually associated w christianity, though its debated if the grail trope couldnt instead be celtic or from yet another religious origin, again, the multi religion references

-in the interview section w some of the staff at the end of the artbook, its confirmed by kumazaki himself its meant to be up to interpretation if the mages r adoptive sisters or sisters as in nuns, the only info set in stone is they were taken in as children

-in that same section its also said outside of the drawing of the cultists at the beach, its up in the air whatll happen to them after KSA, this fits it being ambiguous if theyre still together as a cult or not in the mages playable screens

-ALSO in that part of the interview, its explained they had a beta backstory where they were animated weapons given life by hyness, n at the end would go back to being lifeless objects, this made kumazaki feel bad however, so he let them be real girls who live at the end in exchange their backstories r now traumatic

none of the void pages had anything new or that you cant immediately tell from looking at it, sooo nothing from there lol

Now I am looking at her and going “She has a spearhead on her hat. That spear qualifies as a partisan spear. Also the dark, wavy top to her hair gives the impression of flan. Because of course, some of the concept IDEAS for Zan were that she was an actual spear-turned-lady, and she is literally based on her favorite food-”

Come off anon, first of all. Like this, I don’t know if you follow me or if I follow you, and I’d prefer not to for both cases if you continue to hold this opinion. I don’t want mage-sister-on-mage-sister shippers in my notes. My content isn’t for them.

Second of all, there have been various pause screen descriptions, mostly in japan (hate the localization team), that state that Hyness took the girls in and raised them as his own daughters. In the recently released artbook for KSA’s third anniversary, it was even stated that the reason Hyness drops a baby bottle in multiple places (destroying his shield in battle, same for corrupt hyness, or freeing him during the Void Termina fight) is BECAUSE he raised them up as his children.

Therefore, no matter how you spin it, that makes the girls adoptive siblings. If Hyness was the dad to all three of them, then all three of them are sisters.

There’s even more to this, too! In Japan, it’s one of Hyness’ FIRST pause screens, to the point where a video on the Hyness fight in japanese features everyone in the comment section calling him “papa”!

Plus, I mean. Yes, being “sisters” is absolutely a religious term, never said it wasn’t. But look. You’re telling me that a corporation like this wouldn’t go “HAH! that’s so funny! look, these SISTERS are also SISTERS! nuns and adopted!! oh how punny are we haha”. Really.

This is ignoring the other complications of the ship, which I have a few friends who are much better at explaining than I am.

I love KSA so I’d be happy to spend the $27 on this beautiful thing I can have in my home and also get people off me and my friends’ backs. If I can’t find someone who’ll translate it for me? I’ll learn Japanese! I will, painstakingly, translate this paragraph, even if it takes me individually google translating every piece of kanji that I have to find and replicate somehow, then applying my knowledge of japanese sentence structure and context, I WILL GET IT DONE.
