How people are perceiving you right now? - Pick a card purple pokemon
Since i absolutely love pokemon I picked three purple ones, and just like choosing your starter, you’ll pick one to uncover how people are seeing you right now. So grab your Poké Balls, dust off that old Game Boy, and let’s see what your chosen Pokémon reveals about you.
✨I hope this reading brings you some clarity and guidance. If it resonated with you, I’d love to hear about it!
✨ And if you’re looking for something more personal, I also do individual readings—just DM me anytime or check my ko-fi
🌟TIP JAR🌟
Breathe, clean your thoughts and ask your guides and the Universe lead you to the message that’s meant for you.
Let’s get into your reading!

💜 1. Gengar
They’re noticing this big shift in you. You’re really starting to let go of things that used to hold you down, and that’s pretty powerful. It’s almost like you’ve decided, “I don’t need to control everything,” and that’s making you come across as way more open and chill. People can see that you’re getting better at going with the flow, even if it’s a little scary sometimes. But they also see that you’re super careful with your decisions. You’re not the type to just jump into something without thinking it through. You’re weighing all your options, and while that might make you seem a little stuck, it’s really just you being smart about where you’re headed next. And sure, they might pick up on the fact that you’re dealing with some tough stuff (maybe some temptations or situations that feel a bit restrictive). But what they really admire is how you’re not letting that stop you. You’re determined to break free from anything that doesn’t feel right, and that’s pretty inspiring.
The good things they see in you:
First off, they totally admire your resilience. You’ve been through some rough times, but you always manage to come out the other side even stronger. It’s like no matter what life throws at you, you’re not just surviving—you’re thriving. And people really notice that strength in you.
They also love your independence and this amazing ability to make choices that are totally in line with who you are. Even if that means you’re taking a path that others don’t quite get, they respect that you’re doing what feels right for you. You might seem a little cautious in relationships, but that’s just because you’re making sure everything aligns with your true self. People really respect that about you.
Witch’s advice:
You’re in this awesome phase of letting go and embracing change, so let’s boost that energy with some crystals. Grab a smoky quartz, cause it’s perfect for helping you release anything that’s no longer serving you. Think of it as a little nudge from the universe to let go of the old and welcome the new. And then there’s labradorite, which is all about transformation.
For herbs, sage is your best friend right now. It’s amazing for clearing out any negative or stuck energy around you. Pair it with lavender, which is super calming and will help you feel more at peace, especially when things get a little overwhelming.
And because we all need a bit of comfort, let’s talk tea. A blend of peppermint and chamomile is just what you need. The peppermint will help you think clearly and its perfect for those moments when you’re at a crossroads. And the chamomile will calm your nerves and help you relax about the future. If you want an extra boost, add a little lemon balm to the mix. It’s uplifting and will keep your spirits high as you move forward.

💜 2. Koffing
People see you as someone who’s really starting to break free from some heavy stuff. It’s like they’ve noticed you’ve been through a period where you felt really stuck, maybe even a little trapped, but now they can see you stepping out of that and finding your strength. It’s as if you’ve taken off the blindfold and are beginning to see all the possibilities that are out there for you. There’s a sense of admiration for how you’re learning to navigate through challenges, taking control of your life, and not letting fear or doubt hold you back anymore.
However, there’s also an understanding that you’re still working through some deeper, more personal struggles. People can sense that you’re dealing with things that might still have a hold on you, like old habits or negative thoughts that are tough to shake. But they don’t see this as a weakness; instead, they recognize the strength it takes to confront these inner battles. They know you’re doing your best to overcome them, and they respect the fight you’re putting up to not let those things control you.
At the same time, others notice that you’re someone who avoids unnecessary drama. You’re not one to dive into conflicts or get caught up in petty disputes. Instead, you’re focused on keeping the peace and finding solutions that work for everyone involved. People see you as someone who values harmony and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure things stay calm and balanced, even when it’s not easy. This makes you someone they can rely on to bring a sense of calm and reason into tense situations.
The good things they see in you:
One of the biggest things is your ability to move on from tough situations. They see you as someone who doesn’t let past disappointments or mistakes define you. Instead, you focus on what’s still possible and what you can still achieve. You don’t get down for the negative, but instead, you find a way to keep moving forward, and that’s something people really appreciate.
People also admire how you’re starting to open up more. Maybe you’ve spent some time reflecting and keeping to yourself, but now they see you sharing more of what you’ve learned. You’re willing to let others in, to show your vulnerabilities, and to offer the wisdom you’ve gained from your experiences. This makes you relatable and wise in their eyes, someone who’s been through a lot but is now ready to connect and share with others.
There’s also something about your creativity. Even if you don’t always show it right away, people sense that you have a rich inner world. When you do express your feelings or ideas, it’s something really special that others value. They see you as someone who brings a unique perspective to the table, and they love how you bring your imagination and emotions into everything you do.
Lastly, people respect your thoughtful approach to life. You’re not someone who rushes into things and take your time to consider your options and make sure everything is just right before you move forward. This makes you seem deliberate and careful, which others really appreciate. They know that when you do make a decision, it’s something you’ve really thought through, and that brings a sense of confidence and trust in your choices.
Witch’s advice:
First, consider working with amethyst. This crystal is great for helping you stay clear-headed and keeping any negative energy at bay. It’s also wonderful for breaking free from old patterns and embracing the new opportunities you’re creating for yourself.
For herbs, basil and rosemary would be particularly helpful right now. Basil can bring protection and peace, helping you maintain the calm and balanced environment you’re striving for. Rosemary, on the other hand, is excellent for clarity and focus, giving you the mental boost you need to keep moving forward with confidence.
When it comes to teas, a soothing blend of lemon balm and chamomile would be perfect. Lemon balm is uplifting and can ease any lingering anxiety, while chamomile helps you relax and unwind. Together, they create a comforting, calming vibe that supports your journey toward balance and peace.

💜 3. Nidoking
People see you as someone who’s in the middle of a pretty intense moment. It’s like they can tell you’ve been thinking a lot about whether to stay in certain situations or move on, but there’s a part of you that’s still holding back. Maybe it’s because you’re not quite ready to let go of something that has been important to you, or perhaps you’re trying to find closure before taking the next big step. Either way, others sense that you’re in a bit of a back-and-forth, trying to figure out where you truly want to be.
They also see that you’re someone who might be feeling a bit stuck right now, like there’s something unfinished in your life. It’s as if you’re so close to reaching a major goal or completing a big chapter, but there’s still a loose end or two that’s keeping you from feeling like you can fully move forward. And you have this drive to wrap things up and reach that sense of completion, but they also understand that it’s not easy when you’re dealing with things that are beyond your control.
At the same time, you’ve got this energy that’s just contagious. You’re curious, excited about new ideas, and you bring that spark wherever you go. Even when life gets tough, they see that you’re still standing strong, ready to take on whatever comes your way. You’re like a warrior who’s been through a lot, but you’ve still got that fire inside you.
The good things they see in you:
One of the first things that stands out is your sense of independence and self-sufficiency. People see you as someone who’s really got it together, someone who’s worked hard to build a life that’s stable and fulfilling. You have this air of confidence and self-reliance that others find incredibly inspiring. They admire how you don’t just sit around waiting for things to happen. You go out and make things happen, and know your worth and you’re not afraid to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Another thing is that you have a way of bringing your dreams to life that really impresses people. And they also think that you’ve got this deep well of emotion and love, even if you don’t always show it right away. They admire how you’re able to care so deeply and how you’re not afraid to be vulnerable when it really matters. You have this gift for making others feel valued and appreciated, and that’s something they truly treasure in you.
You also lift others up, to bring joy and happiness wherever you go and they see you as someone who can find the good in almost any situation and help others see it too.
Witch’s Advice:
Grab some citrine. It’s the perfect crystal for you. Citrine is all about boosting your confidence and bringing in that joyful, abundant energy that you naturally have. It’s like a little battery for your positivity. And clear quartz is another good one for you; it helps you stay focused and amps up your intentions, making it even easier to manifest all the amazing things you’re working on.
For herbs, rosemary and bay leaves are your go-tos. Rosemary is great for keeping your mind clear and your energy protected, especially when you’re dealing with those frustrating, unfinished things. Bay leaves are awesome for setting intentions and making your wishes come true—write down what you want on a bay leaf, burn it, and let the magic happen.
And let’s not forget about tea! A blend of jasmine and green tea is perfect for you. Jasmine brings in that sweet, loving energy, helping you stay connected to your heart. Green tea keeps you motivated and focused, which is just what you need to keep moving forward. Together, these teas will help you stay balanced and energized, ready to take on anything.

Why I view/write Kaeya as living an inherently feminine experience
(reposting this essay from twitter)
This entire post will be a long string of observations and headcanons surrounding why I believe Kaeya’s story is an inherently feminine experience. It includes canon interactions but also explanations as to why I write him in a certain way in my works. Also, I would like to establish that with ‘feminine’ I am not explicitly talking about gender expression, but more so the societal expectations and gender roles that have been put on women. By this definition, a feminine experience is not exclusive to women only.
Starting in his childhood, Kaeya is described as being gentle and polite by Adelinde (1) whilst Diluc was described as more rambunctious. As they grew up, Kaeya, being the more reserved one, seemed to always stay in Diluc’s shadow (2).
The question is whether this was by choice or something that was imposed upon him. In a way, I think it’s both. To survive, he made sure not to cause trouble or speak out of turn, listening to and pleasing the authoritative figures in his life instead.
After Diluc was out of the picture and out of the KoF, Kaeya was given a completely different role. He was expected to lead now, his previous persona would not suffice in an environment like this. He had to be respected, and in order to gain the respect of his new subordinates, he had to change. He became louder and more visible, he had to learn how to stand his ground. This isn’t only reflected in his personality, but also his appearance. A big silhouette that exudes status with the gold accents and fur coat; it demands attention and communicates confidence to outsiders.
Kaeya as we know him has a very big personality. It’s hard to definitively say whether he enjoys the attention he gets from outsiders. Where does the act stop and his true self begin?
In his hangout, we can see him scurrying away with the traveler once he starts getting approached and praised for his on-stage performance in Port Ormos (3).
From the way he treats the interactions, it seems that he can humor these interactions when needed, but does not particularly enjoy them. There seems to be a dichotomy between the way he presents himself and how wishes other people to perceive him, and his true desires. I don’t think this means that he completely dislikes the way he presents himself. After having played this part for so long, it would make sense that at least part of it melds into his true self, but it does imply that his change post-fight isn’t 100% a case of ‘flourishing into his true self’ as his Vision story might suggest.
On that note, the attention Kaeya seems to get from bystanders seems to be something he does not seem /entirely/ comfortable with. Besides the fan interactions in Port Ormos, Kaeya also mentions in his hangout that he got approached by a group of mercenaries to dance (4).
The subtext suggests they were flirting with him, and whilst it is possible Kaeya genuinely did not realize this, I don’t believe someone like him would be oblivious to the implications of the interaction. He doesn’t name for what it was, plays it off lightly, and moves on.
(To be fair, you can also take him at his word for this interaction. It really depends on how much you want to believe him. But also, my mans is not smiling in these?? At all??)
Now this goes into headcanon territory but I believe Kaeya is very aware of how people look at him. He’s been described to be eye-catching in his character story 5 (5), good-looking by multiple NPCs, even the traveler calls him handsome (6).
Point is: Kaeya looks good! He knows it, but as we’ve established before, he does not always like it. Despite his own discomfort, he still believes he can use this to his advantage. Because as we know, for him, the ends justify the means (7).
Perhaps he plays up his charm a little because he knows what it will get him, or because people will underestimate his true nature if he keeps it up.
So for my personal interpretation: he’s ‘flirty’, not because he likes it, but because it helps him get things done. The reactions he gets out of it may or may not disgust him a little, but his sense of self-worth is not enough to stop him from using these tactics to get ahead.
Lastly, I would like to discuss how Kaeya, despite everything that has happened to him, does not outwardly express any of his anger frequently. At least, not in an obvious sense. To keep up appearances and to maintain his image, he never bursts out in anger, shouts, or yells. He is always hyperaware of how other people view him, and being angry is simply not appropriate. He remains composed in the presence of others even if he might want to shout or be angry.
In short, the performative aspects of Kaeya’s character reflect a very specific part of the female experience to me. Always keeping in check with what other people’s expectations are, not wanting to take up too much space when he was younger but having to learn how to take up more space to gain other people’s respect when he got older, dealing with unwanted attention but not voicing complaints and dismissing them to not make a big deal out of it; these are all parts of it.
All of this is super self-indulgent so don’t take it too seriously~ Just wanted to justify why I think he gets to sit with the girls :D

Latest details
The Fatal Fury series first hit the market in 1991, spearheading the fighting game boom of the 1990s that swept the industry thereafter. Garou: Mark of the Wolves (released in 1999) has, for some time, served as the franchise’s most recent installment.
Fan Favorites and Fresh Faces Square Off in the Arena
Iconic characters from Fatal Fury and Garou: Mark of the Wolves are ready to rumble once again. A new character and star pupil of Joe Higashi also makes her debut:
Rock Howard (voiced by Griffin Puatu in English, Yuma Uchida in Japanese) – Born to Geese Howard, raised by Terry Bogard—Rock’s very being is one of mixed emotions and internal conflict. Despite having lived a new life with Terry, one day Rock finds himself facing off against a foe who claims to know about his past—namely his birth mother, and the fact that she is very much alive. Armed with this new information, the troubled youth resolves to find his way through life—and fight on to make that happen.
Terry Bogard (voiced by Michael Schneider in English, Takashi Kondo in Japanese) – South Town’s very own Legendary Hungry Wolf, Terry takes young Rock Howard under his wing, following an epic encounter with archrival and Rock’s father Geese Howard. The two are inseparable—until the events of a fateful tournament compel them to go their separate ways. Terry fights it out on the streets for several years thereafter, but when word of an upcoming martial arts tournament—“KOF”—reaches him, he realizes that another date with destiny awaits…
Hotaru Futuba (voiced by Suzie Yeung in English, Manaka Iwami in Japanese) – Hotaru is a young girl searching far and wide for her older brother, who disappeared when her mother passed away. As luck would have it, she would one day run into someone who looked very much like him, though he denied all knowledge of the matter. But that was then, this is now, and Hotaru still hasn’t given up: determined to fight the mysterious stranger again and convey her true feelings, she sets off into the unknown once more.
Tizoc (voiced by Jalen K. Cassell in English, Hikaru Hanada in Japanese) – An invincible symbol of justice, Tizoc now makes his triumphant return to the ring. Despite hanging up his boots for a time, the joyous cries of the children in his corner spur him into action—and bring him back home. Pledging to lift the spirits of one young fan in particular, he laces up and sets his sights on the squared circle once again. For the mighty Tizoc, one thing’s for sure: this fight will be even more furious than the last.
Preecha – (voiced by Mia Paige in English, Chika Anzai in Japanese) – Making her Fatal Fury debut, the scientist Preecha investigates the wonders and miracles of a fascinating principle known as ki (spirit energy). She also happens to be the star pupil of Joe Higashi, the acclaimed Muay Thai champ himself. While her martial arts talent can’t be denied, that’s not to say she’s only in it to win it either; indeed, Preecha fights for academic purposes, not accolades. She hates the pain, but sure is willing to endure it—as long as it furthers her research into unique and perplexing fight styles.
All-new REV System Shifts the Fight into Top Gear
The REV System, a toolset making its Fatal Fury debut, offers unique offensive options from when the battle begins. Players can use REV Arts, REV Accel, REV Blows (while S.P.G. is active), and more until you hit your limit and the REV Meter overheats. Balance your heat level and keep the pressure on your opponent to fight at full throttle!
Classic Battle Systems Evolved
Many classic Fatal Fury battle systems are back in full force, including Combination Attacks, Just Defense, Braking, Dodge Attacks, and Feints. These systems return to the fold after more than 25 years and have evolved for the modern day. Buckle up for red-hot action and competitive fights to the finish!
Experience-Tailored Control Schemes
Players can choose from two control schemes: Arcade Style is based on precise, technical inputs, while Smart Style lets you perform flashy special moves and combos using directional inputs and single button presses. From fighting game newcomers to seasoned veterans, everyone will be tricked out with the right controls—tailored specifically to your level.

Open Starter for #coffees cakeday Event
(putting a readmore to keep dashes cleaner. Please put a readmore before each post as well. If we reach the limit or something, we can make a new starter or something. i don't know the technical side of tumblr well)
Coffee vanishes in the cloud of balloons again. "Coffee! Stop going in there or i'll accidentially give you away!" Tix exclaimes, but laughs. There's no way Coffee would be given away, he's noticably not a balloon, and also the only koffing with a Top Hat and a Monocle.
"Tix, i think you went a little bit overboard with the preparations. There's still at least half an our left until we usually open, and i doubt people will be here early in the morning." Olivia is sitting at a table, drinking a hot chocolate and petting Hans on his lap. The Lotad is still asleep. "And you little troublemaker, do not steal from anyone! Is that clear?" This last remark went to Gregor who was about to drag Olivia's spoon from it's saucer.
"Eh, don't worry. This way we'll have a little break before the chaos begins." Tix pauses. "Yeah Greg, i would appreciate if you kept your little hands to yourself today. I don't think i'll have the time to clear up any conflicts today. I'll get you something nice if you can manage that"
"You are probably right." Olivia let's out a sigh and sips his drink. "Let's appreciate the calm before the storm."

this isnt the kind of post i usually tend to make (though ive been trying to be less self conscious about that kind of thing lately) but i wanted to post about a new eos playthrough ive been doing! ive always thought it was very fun attention to detail that you get unique dialogue whenever you lose in dungeons and bosses, but ive never really seen all of it before because i either just dont lose or i reset after i lose because i dont want to lose my items dfgjjd
But this is where my latest eos playthru comes in! may i present my two girlfailures nymph the lumineon and sumi the absol of team omens :] i am going to be intentionally losing in every dungeon and to every boss simply to see what happens! i have no idea if anyone else besides me is interested in this, but i figure i may as well share if anybody was! (going to put this under a read more because i get the feeling it is going to be long)
(also one thing to note i only used skytemple randomizer to change the starter pokemon to lumineon and absol, the rest of the game is entirely vanilla! the added portraits also come from the pmd sprite repository :])
i also figured id add additional dialogue options onto this too! most the time you get railroaded into picking the right option, but theres some extra dialogue regardless! this one is if you say no when the partner asks you to help (which made me feel pretty bad)
and then theres asking >Wh-what should i do?
>But you can't just...
>But I have no memory...
>But I'm sure I was a human...
(and then picking either option leads into the normal dialogue continuing)
and then theres losing in beach cave! i tried losing separately to the zubat and koffing boss battle, but the same dialogue repeated then.
i like the attention to continuity that partner recognizes beach cave as a mystery dungeon, considering theyre also the one that brings it up later to the hero :] also sumi why are You saying ow i was the one that was slowly beaten to death by a shellos (it took like 5 minutes)
next, returning boss fight dialogue!
apparently zubat and koffing get lost in beach cave, which is very funny to me considering it is literally the shortest dungeon in the game dfgjdjg makes you wonder why they even went in there to begin with....
and with that i have hit the post image limit... i get the feeling i will need to break this into a lot of posts
#pokemon mystery dungeon#pmd#pmd eos#explorers of sky#mang posts#my junk#is this a bit out of pocket from what i usually post here? yes#am i also having a good time? yes#ive been trying to make myself more comfortable with the idea of like.#just talking about the things i want to talk about on here#ive been holding myself back for many years but now i will be so autistic#and by god i Will post about my random experiments i do in video games that matter to nobody but me#i may be cringe but i am free

Forrest leads me through the gate into the orchard, the Lombre marching at his side and muttering sullenly to itself. I can't help but sigh at the beauty of the old trees, their branches clustered with berries of all colors.
My mind glances back to my previous visit here, so long ago. Ro and I had been traveling together, and things between us were getting tense. The Berry Master's house had been a bright spot on that difficult journey--a much-needed reprieve that allowed us to clear the air while we did humble chores in exchange for berries.
Back then, though, a simple wooden fence had enclosed the orchard, providing a lovely view of the woods beyond. Now a formidable stone wall topped with spikes hides the outside world completely. Stretching over the trees, its jagged shadow casts a sinister pall over the idyllic orchard.
"Why the wall?" I ask.
Forrest sighs. "Same reason we need to patrol." He pauses at the end of a row of Oran trees and points. "See there?"
I draw in a sharp breath. Three of the trees at the end are stunted and dead.
The Lombre mutters in a discomfited way. Forrest pats its head. "That's from a Grimer outbreak."
"Grimer?" I ask in disbelief. "Out here in the woods?" There are some naturalized Grimer in Hoenn, but the only places I've ever known of them congregating in significant numbers are the underground passes near Mt. Chimney, where they enjoy the heat and volcanic fumes.
Forrest nods grimly. "That big tech company, Koynlab? They started mining up around Mt. Chimney three months ago. Grimer and Koffing are dangerous for the workers, so the company has made an effort to clear them out of the mines." He scowls, anger darkening his amiable features. "Of course, they insist that they're keeping their environmental impact low. There's been a media campaign to convince the public the outbreaks are caused by stuff like trash burning and littering and unsecured dumpsters. But they can't fool us."
Koynlab. I think of the V4ST, of Nifti, and my stomach sinks. "I'm guessing the government hasn't been much help?"
"You guess right," he says drily. "We think their new lab in Sootopolis is creating a lot more waste than they say, too...the outbreaks seem to be moving in that direction." He shrugs. "But nothing's come out in the official inspections, so who knows."
"Anyway." He gestures at the dead trees. "A few months after they started mining, some Grimer squeezed under the fence and did this. A couple weeks later a bunch of Koffing ruined an entire crop of Cheri berries. Our Pokemon are mostly grass types trained to help with planting - our main defense was a team of Gloom that kept pest Pokemon out with their smell. No help against Grimer and Koffing, obviously. So we had the wall put in, and me a few others started training guard Pokemon." He sighs. "Unfortunately, the berries are too tempting to Pokemon to leave them in here unsupervised. So someone has to patrol when there's an outbreak."
"That's terrible," I say sympathetically.
"Yeah. We're dealing with it though." He smiles. "Anyway, it's getting dark. I better start working on that garden. Just walk around the perimeter with your Pokemon and keep an eye out. If you see anything sneaking in, you know what to do."
I'm not so sure, but I make my best attempt at a reassuring smile and thumbs up. He returns the gesture and goes back to the garden with his Lombre, leaving me alone in the swiftly darkening orchard. I turn and begin and steady march along the forbidding wall.
As the orchard falls into twilight, electric lights on poles flicker to life among the trees. My shadow stretches and shrinks as I pass each one. An evening wind rises in the trees. After 30 uneventful minutes, my nervous vigilance dulls and my less immediate anxieties slink back into my skull.
I hate how much the Berry Master's words bother me. It's you that doesn't know how to fight. Despite the pain of losing my Pokemon and the shame of my years in obscurity, there's still a nasty little piece of ego left to wriggle to the surface. I think of my Kalos team, my Champion team, of all the hard years of training and battle. I think of the world-class trainers I defeated, the talented upstarts whose meteoric rises ended with me, and my pride burns like dragonfire in my chest.
Then I think of ASH's face, of his poor Metagross, of the satisfaction I felt as I ordered my Eelektross to deliver the attack that would prove fatal. The fire churns inside me, but it doesn't go out; it only ignites the old argument with myself again, the schism between the part of me that wishes I'd been the loser and the part of me that could never have swallowed that loss.
And I think of Coba, tangled in String Shot as the Silcoon prepared to strike. Would he have survived if it had hit him instead of me? Logic says the answer is almost certainly yes--Pokemon do get killed, but they're tough, so much tougher than humans, made for fighting in a way we can only envy. Jumping in front of him was pure stupidity. The old me would never have done such a thing, treating a Pokemon like a helpless baby.
I stop in my tracks. Why did the Silcoon attack Coba? I squeeze my brain, trying to remember every detail of the scene. I was yelling at the V4ST, and when I turned back around he had been attacked. And while it was not strictly impossible that I'd be stupid enough to turn my back on an aggressive wild Pokemon, I didn't think that was the case. After all, Coba had not been hostile to it in any way. He had refused to even approach it.
But I started yelling at the V4ST, and Pokemon almost universally hate yelling. Maybe I had been the one the Silcoon perceived as dangerous.
And if that was the case, maybe Coba got hit because he'd tried to protect me.
Pokemon may have trouble understanding your words, but they understand your heart just fine.
It's not that Coba can't fight. It's that he knows I don't want him to.
It's unclear how long I stand there in the deepening dark, feeling the weight of that thought, before the wind shifts and I notice the smell. Rank, rotten, rancid--few words are adequate to describe it. Sewage, formaldehyde, body odor, brimstone--a rich, full orchestra of putrescent notes.
It's not hard to pinpoint the direction it's coming from. Against all desire, I cut across the orchard and head toward it, praying it's coming from the other side of the wall. At first I see nothing; I think I've got lucky. But then I notice a gleam--wetness caught in the electric light. A mucilaginous tendril of purple ooze creeping through the tiniest hole in the masonry, already puddling on the dirt below. Within seconds a wide, wet eye squeezes through.
I tear out the V4ST's ball and throw it to the ground in front of me. The Porygon2 bursts out.
"V4ST! Psychic attack!" I order.
The V4ST looks at the quickly-coalescing Grimer. Then it spins in a circle, looking all around itself. Then it looks at me.
"Drr-drr," it drones.
My heart lurches, but maybe it just doesn't know that attack. "Tri-Attack!" I say. No Porygon2 would be without that attack.
"Drr-drrrrr," it repeats, with more emphasis this time.
"Why?!" I shout.
The V4ST swoops toward me with a series of caustic beeps as the last glob of the Grimer begins to slide toward the ground.
"Look, I'm sorry I yelled at you!" I say, my voice high and tight with fear. "I'll be nicer, I promise, but please, please help me!"
The V4ST beeps harshly. Then it taps its beak hard on my breast pocket, making a dull clunking noise as it hits Coba's ball through my coat.
"Drr-drr," it reiterates.
I lurch back as the Grimer makes a sudden lunge in my direction. The V4ST whirls around to look, but the sludgy beast seems satisfied that I'm no threat. It starts to ooze toward the trees.
There's only about 30 feet between the wall and the first row of trees. Grimer are slow, but if I don't do anything it will get there and start destroying the orchard.
And I understand the V4ST's meaning. It can protect me, but it can't act as my Pokemon.
It has to be Coba.
I look hard at the V4ST. It looks back at me, impossible to read. I feel my hatred for it rising and swallow it down. It's not fair to blame the V4ST for doing what it's meant to do. I have to trust it to take care of things if they get out of hand.
Even if getting out of hand means Coba turns out to be a Missingno. Even if it means losing him.
As I pull out his ball, I'm more afraid than I've ever been going into a battle. But I remember the words of the Berry Master--words that old youngster me apparently needed to hear after all--and I do my best to call up the old battle-readiness of days past, and I throw the ball with all the ferocity I can summon.
Hearing the ball, the Grimer whirls toward the new threat with a wet snarl, and its stench hits me with nauseating force. Coba squeaks in shock and turns, scampering back in my direction.
"Coba!" I say, speaking to him for the first time in a commanding tone. He stops, studying me quizzically with one little black eye.
Through the sickness and pain and fear, I manage to stab my finger toward the Grimer and snarl, "Mud-slap!"
For a terrifying second, Coba simply looks at the Grimer, which has fixed him with its full attention now. He takes a bound in my direction, and I'm afraid he's going to refuse again.
But then he digs his little forepaws into the earth and shoots backward, sending a plume of mud directly into the Grimer's face.
The Grimer folds in on itself, handlike pseudopods swiping at its mud-caked eyes. I let out a shrill whoop of triumph, then choke on it as the V4ST drifts forward, its eyes laser-focused on Coba. My heart throbs in my ears and I feel my knees weaken as it hangs there, calculating, and then slowly turns to face me.
"Bi-bing," it chirps.
A beautiful sound. An undeniably affirmative, happy sound. I fold over with a sob of relief.
But I can't collapse in a blubbering heap just yet, because the Grimer makes a disgusting phlegmy noise and hawks a glob of Acid in Coba's direction. It goes wide thanks to the blinding mud, but it's a timely reminder that the fight isn't over.
"Great job, Coba!" I shout hoarsely. "Mud-slap!"
Coba performs the move again, and the Grimer burbles with pain and rage. It flings out a pseudopod and this time the attack connects. Coba shrieks as he rolls end over end toward me, and the Grimer surges forward.
"Coba!" I shout, locking every muscle in my body to keep myself from repeating the stupidity of my Silcoon encounter. He stands up, looking shaken, but he turns and hisses at the Grimer. I order another Mud-slap as the toxic Pokemon bears down on him, but this time his aim goes wide and the Grimer's Acid attack hits true. He screeches in pain and staggers to the ground as the poison seeps in.
I withdraw him and turn to the V4ST. "Help!" I plead.
"Drr-drr," it says, and I realize the Grimer has turned from the fight and is closing in on the trees. The V4ST is under no obligation to protect the trees, and now I have no way of protecting them, either.
Except one.
Clenching my jaw, half-thanking and half-cursing Ro, I pull out an empty Ultra Ball and let it fly before I have a chance to change my mind. It pulls the Grimer less than a yard from the nearest tree. It rolls around a few times, and then the light goes out.
"Bi-bing," the V4ST says.

My Take on Reasons why Visions are Granted, Based on the Traveler's Journey
I'm going insane. Also, hi, not dead yet.
There's been a bunch of theories on why Visions are granted, whether it depended on the allogene's ambition, values, personality, defining moment, etc. To each their own, and my own view on this matter is that the reasons why Visions are granted can be surmised using the Traveler's journey.
Not sure if anyone else has done this take yet, but I'd love to know to compare notes.
ANEMO
Let's start with our first element. We receive Anemo at the very, very beginning, when we have zero memories, zero clues, basically we're at zero for everything. After obtaining Anemo, we make our first friends in Teyvat, join the Adventurer's Guild and become an honorary member of the KoF. In other words, Anemo is about beginnings. Anemo is given to those who desire a new start or who are already on a new journey and are just discovering themselves.
GEO
Next element is Geo. When we obtain Geo, we already have surer footing in Teyvat. We know what we need to do, we have plans to achieve our goals, and we've basically got a rough draft of what we're doing. After obtaining Geo, our reputation in Teyvat is solidified. We're a hero, we get recognition as such, and this is where people start to recognize us. Geo is about firmness (hahaha). Geo is given to those who have set a plan for their lives, who have decided upon what they want to do, and who people define based on said goals.
ELECTRO
Before entering the nation, we already have the identity of a hero. After obtaining Electro, our identity and reputation takes a drastic change from hero to criminal. We choose to value our own ideals and understanding of the situation which clashes with the gov't of the nation, or the status quo. Electro is about personal identity. Electro is given to those whose identity is in conflict, or which don't agree with the status quo.
DENDRO
Before this nation, our conflicts were very straightforward. We have one bad guy, a collection of allies from our chosen side, and a mentor we can always rely on to appear (prev. examples: Venti, Zhongli, Yae Miko). After obtaining Dendro, the conflict becomes more complicated. There are layers upon layers of conflicting motives and factions. We see the corrupt body, but we cannot act to remove it immediately. Our allies each came from different factions and all had their own motives. We weren't the only highlight this time, since a political coup cannot succeed or rely upon a single individual (looking at you, Inazuma). Nahida, our mentor and first true ally, is notable absent. Our main objectives were to gather information, reliable sources and allies, discern the truth through deductive reasoning, and then follow through with the best possible outcome. We acted more as a catalyst rather than a hero or villain here (I love this AQ so bloody much it's my fav).
Knowledge and wisdom became our most essential weapons; we used them to navigate through this complicated environment. However, I believe that Dendro is actually about the truth, while knowledge and wisdom are the tools used to seek it. Dendro is given to those who always seek the truth, and who value honesty even if they do not always practice it. They have their own personal truths that they accept and uphold, and dislike deception and illusions that cloud one's judgement. And who else seeks the truth above all but scholars?
HYDRO
(Still not sure on this one since we haven't gotten to the end of the AQ, so take this with a grain of salt. )
So, to recap, we've played a multitude of roles since arriving in Teyvat. We were always able to get by from scratch. After obtaining Hydro, we gain the role of an attorney to defend Lyney, and we are bound by laws and societal perspective. We are thrust into a whole new role with more rigid rules than before. After all this, we then play the role of infiltrating prisoner, and again, we are bound by rules and regulations we did not previously experience. In other words, we were actually forced to respect and obey the laws while doing our usual thing, unlike our criminal-like behavior before (I like how, in the entirety of our stay, the only times we got arrested were by choice, did you notice?).
So, from what I know for now, Hydro is about adaptation. Hydro is given to those who are thrust into difficult roles with rigid rules and standards they must abide by. As much as they desire their personal freedom from the role, they still succeed in their environment and have simply accepted their positions, mainly because they feel they have no choice.
#genshin impact#genshin impact visions#visions#genshin impact theory#is it obvious which AQ is my favorite?

Pokeani: Is It Pure Filler?
A detailed look at which episodes in the Pokemon anime from the Original Series through Journeys qualify as pure filler; in that despite some worldbuilding or Pokemon spotlighting or good lessons learned, nothing in the episode advances anything major (the plot, character arcs, Pokemon evolutions and positions in characters’ teams, etc.) Bear in mind that plenty of the episodes not counted can still be considered largely filler with just some small token advancement thrown in, but as long as the advancement is there it’s not a pure filler episode.

May22 at 10am to May28 at 8pm, local time. These can not be accessed using Remote Raid passes. (Of course. 😒)
Five-star Shadow Raids from May 27 at 10am to May28 at 8pm, local time. Can be shiny.
The following Pokémon will be the first to appear in Shadow Raids! Gyms not under Team GO Rocket control may still host other raids. 1⭐: Shadow Machop, Poliwag, Bellsprout, and Beldum. 3⭐: Quilava, Bayleaf, Croconaw, Sneasel. 5⭐:Mewtwo. 3⭐ and 5⭐ Shadow Raid Bosses will grow enraged as you battle them, boosting their attack and defense.
You can subdue Shadow Raid Bosses using Purified Gems, a new item that can be assembled from Shadow Shards, mysterious gem pieces that may be dropped by Team GO Rocket. Gather enough shards to use Professor Willow’s newly invented Shard Refiner, and you’ll be rewarded with a Purified Gem. There are multiple ways Purified Gems can assist your battle against enraged Shadow Raid Bosses. When you use a Purified Gem during a Shadow Raid, the enraged Shadow Raid Boss’s attack and defense will be lowered temporarily. You and your fellow Trainers can use more than one Purified Gem during a Shadow Raid. If used at the same time, their effects will stack. If enough Purified Gems are used, the enraged Shadow Raid Boss will be returned to its non-enraged state.
Regular non-Shadow Raids will host: 1⭐Marill, Clefairy, Tentacool, Skrelp, Popplio. 3⭐ Magneton, Lapras, Mawile, and Empoleon. 5⭐ are Regigigas and Tapu Fini. Mega Raids are Mega Pinsir and Altaria.
From May22 at 10am to May28 at 8pm, local time, a majority of Gyms will host Shadow Raids. From 10am to 8pm on Saturday, May27, Team GO Rocket activity will spike, taking over all raids.
Wild encounters are Ekans, Golbat, Koffing, Houndour, Poochyena, Stinky, and Skorupi. Rare encounters are Hisuian Qwilfish and Scraggy.
Event bonuses are Team Rocket appearing more at Pokestops and in Balloons.
Field Research focused on defeating Team GO Rocket and catching Pokémon will be available! Trainers can earn a Mysterious Component and Stardust as rewards.
A new avatar pose will be available from the shop:
The Let's GO Special Research that rewards a Master Ball will begin, and can be claimed until Jun1.
Here's the trailer too!

Yooo, i’ve secured the footage of the first actual round of the contest! (Again, huuuuge thanks @appeallove )
Also, i have NO IDEA what time it is right now, i sort of completely passed out right after it, it was so exhausting lol! I didn’t see my name yet in the next bracket and i didn’t check for anything else, so i don’t even know if i won! (If i did, i hope i didn’t miss my next performance, i’ll go run and check right after this post hehe)
BY THE WAY, also an incredible huge amazing THANK YOU to Daisy, who was an incredible opponent! Thanks for doing this with me! (idk if you have a rotumblr, actually, but you said i should just ping @battlelegendsredandblue so i’ll do that)
[Another recording from the livestream of the Sootopolis Circuit:
Tix enters the stage, their outfit changed just a bit from the qualifiers performance. They are wearing a black tanktop now, with a design that reminds of netting made of silver string. The “net” is shining and glittering. Behind them, a Koffing is floating. It has been decorated with similar silver fabric strings, which make it look like disco ball. In addition, strange devices are mounted on most of its craters. A large moustache is adorning its face, which makes the whole thing look rather goofy.
“HEEEEY SOOTOPOLIS!!! COLOURLESS TOXIN IS BACK!!! AND NOW WE GOTTA MAKE A DIFFERENT KIND OF MUSIC BECAUSE OTHERWISE IT GETS BORING RIGH?! SO NOW I HAVE BROUGHT A NEW MEMBER WITH ME! THIS HERE IS COFFEE, THE GUY WHO USUALLY DOES THE PYROTECHNICS BUT HE CAN ALSO PLAY THE SYNTH! BUT ONLY TWO GUYS ON STAGE IS BOOORING! SO WE BROUGHT SOME ASSISTANCE, AND I GOTTA ASK YA LADY! ARE YOU GONNA SING, OR ARE YOU GONNA DANCE?!?!”
The woman can’t help but give a chuckle as she steps onto the stage, Chansey nearby like it’ll step on her toes, but it never does. It makes an excited chirp, as if giving its own answer to the question.
Though Chansey isn’t wearing anything on the theme with the other performers, Daisy certainly is, a pink jacket with darker pink stripes, not to mention the ascot like scarf, matching the tendrils on Chansey’s own head. Pockets mimicking its pouch on her shorts.
“Why not both?” She answers, before commanding, “Seych, Sing!”
The move directly hits the floating Koffing, who sinks a bit towards the floor, though his eyes stay open.
“WHOA GIRL!” Tix has been stopped in their energetic track. “The peeps don’t even know what we’re playing yet! But I guess since Coffee needs a moment, I can tell you!”
They have now regained their excitement and turn towards the audience. “THIS IS OUR INTERPRETATION OF GYM LEADER ROXIES SONG “THE SKIES ARE READ BECAUSE THE CLOUDS ARE MADE OF NAPALM!!!”
They strum the guitar with a loud chord, but then play a much quieter, but fast and complicated melody. “IF YOU’RE GOOD; WE NEED SOME HEEEAT! FLAMETHROWER!!”
Coffee seems to have been energised by the music again, begins floating upwards again and inhales a deep breath. At the same time, tiny puffs of smoke leave some of his craters, which results in two large speakers releasing synthetic music. The camera zooms in, to make the delicate workings visible, apparently is this strange construction connected to a synthesizer. Coffee now releases a stream of hot flames towards Chansey
“Sorry! I’m just excited!” Daisy grins. The atmosphere seems way different than what she’s used to. She seems about as excited as the audience with each step she takes, making them quickly as she attempts to keep up with the melody. More used to softer music for sure, but she keeps herself on her toes.
As flames dance around Chansey, it holds onto its egg, twirling lightly to keep it safe. In turn, with the Soft-Boiled move, it looks like it’s ballerina-spun right out of the danger. It gives a soft sigh of relief before giving a cute look of Charm, making sure it looks straight at the audience. If the pout could talk it’d probably say “Look how close that was, won’t you?”
Daisy isn’t done yet though with her movements, making sure her footing is steady, but also her arms reaching high. It may be a slow dance by the music’s standards, but she does a little hop to keep on the beat as she approaches Tix and back again.
“WHOAHO!! You know how to move your feet! But I think we need a bit more atmosphere! Coffee, gimme a solo and set up something, you know what to do!”
With that, the Koffing lets his synthetic music fade into nothingness, when he suddenly drops to the ground and the crowd lets out a shocked gasp. Then, the poison type starts rolling around the stage, carefully watching Chanseys and Daisys dancemoves, not to hinder them. It seems that Coffee is actually trying to match their moves. At the same time, the few geysers that do not have metallic rings attached spew out a beautifully glittering mist, through which the other contestants dance.
Tix has also started making a few moves, mostly keeping it to the side of the stage though, as to not obstruct their opponents dance. They have now pressed a button on the guitar which added a strange crackling to the sound that reminds a little bit of burning wood. The guitarist now also started singing, or rather growling some almost unintelligible vocals, not unlike the guttural sounds their Toxicroak made during the qualifiers.
Daisy watches the little guy roll around a bit, clapping her hands for him. She spins a few times while doing so.
“We’ll have to give pointers afterwards!” The performance is seconds away from ending, either by the time or the energy, but it’s mainly the energy. If it wasn’t for the music, one could probably hear their own heart beating in their chest if they didn’t feel it.
Chansey picks up on the singing, despite the guttural sounds, it waddles up to them with a smile. Then it follows them in Singing, trying to hit lower notes to match, though only gets to a midrange. Regardless if it can hit the pitch or not, its tail wags lightly.
Tix now finishes their solo and singing, taking a deep breath and smiling at Chansey. The round Pokémon dances back towards it’s trainer, taking her hands and the lead, making them both spin in sync with the music that now picks up again and gets even a bit faster than before. Coffee has also begun floating again and is puffing more and more smoke, creating an incredible melody together with the guitar. It seems Daisy and Chansey cannot dance any faster at this point when Tix screams “NOW THE FINALE!” and Coffee starts glowing, his costume reflecting the light all over the stage.
For a single heartbeat, he looks like shining lightbulb. Daisy and Chansey have broken apart and are taking a final stance, when a deafening CRACK and an equally loud chord from Tix’ guitar fill the Arena and Coffee releases a giant fireball from the Explosion-move. All four contestants stand on stage, as if time is standing still, when suddenly, even before the Koffing falls to the ground after the ultimate exhausting move, Chansey cannot hold its pose and trips, falling on its belly. Half the crowd erupts into cheers, the other half lets out another shocked gasp. Both Daisy and Tix run over to help an embarrassed Chansey back on its feet before the footage cuts.]
ooc: I’ve listened mostly to The Enigma TNG while writing this (and they make incredible music btw), but I think the song played goes more into the direction of thrash, maybe even hardbass or hardcore techno, since it’s only (modified) guitar and synth
