She didn’t fully believe Kisumi. That he wouldn’t dare. Most dared. This way or another. Hardly anyone (perhaps also included her own father) seemed to believe she could be the next head of the family. And Nunnally was adamant to prove that they were w r o n g. And Kisumi – willingly or not – would help her to achieve that goal. Though probably it would be more difficult with him than she originally thought. He was less eager than she expected…? BUT WHY?
Nunnally was confused of why Kisumi had been chosen to teach (babysit) her. Some elements did fit her vision of the world, and some didn’t. Did they end up together because her father thought she needed a friend? Or quite opposite, was it a trap, and the cordial and carefree appearance and manners were just one great mystification to lure her into making mistakes? She needed to proceed with caution, if she wasn’t to end up as a bored wife of a man who was given her heritage (with her as an inherent part of it).

So, she said nothing and followed Kisumi to the garage. Where…she got introduced to the car! Yes, surely it was a sport car in a nice colour but it was still A CAR. Frankly, if asked she would hardly stutter that it was a Porsche? Or perhaps it was a Ferrari…? Or Lamborgini? It definitely wasn’t a Bentley, though.
But given how Kisumi had behaved, Nunnally figured out she should admire his car. This was ridiculous. But the love and proud in his voice was so clear that she simply didn’t feel like hurting him by showing no interests in his "partner" (though was is a game? Or was he honest?). It was ridicolous!
“How beautiful! And the colour! I have not seen anything like this…!” – she said in a voice full of admiration that wasn’t even that difficult to fake; she made herself comfortable on the passenger’s seat, and concluded she should still be excited about the car and a ride. Ask some questions?
“How fast…this baby can go?” – was that a proper was to talk about a car? Cause calling it his partner would be too much? At least not now? Nunnally had no interests in cars. Yes, she could drive, but never truly enjoyed it. And a sport car would probably be the last of her choice.
Soon they were driving outside the garage. So far Kisumi seemed like a careful driver. Was it why she finally said: --
“How about taking me for a short ride now? Just to show me what it can do.”
“I feel like seeing the sea…” – she said opening the window and catching some wind into her fingers.
“Do you have no eating and no drinking rule in this car?” – she asked laughingly being sure what the reply would be. But she was going to enjoy herself. She deserved that.
Nunnally might have meant to tempt him but unfortunately for her Kisumi would never bend unless he was in a position which he was forced. Whatever his Uncle was scheming (and he clearly was meddling) Kisumi wanted no parts in. As much as he didn’t want to like her clearly his Uncle had seen their personalities would mesh well.
Kisumi would of course be cordial but that’s where he drew the line.
“With royalty comes the burden of responsibility. I’m not sure I’m ready to wear such a heavy crown.” Nor did he wish to be in the spotlight like that with such a sensational coupling. Being tied like that to Nunnally would need to act as a head of household in a crime syndicate family was way too much for him. He could barely keep on track of his Uncle’s duties. They were only a middle tier family within the organization.
Nunnally was a king pin.
With her threat of being well used to his fullest gave Kisumi a bit of dread. He was hoping just to do his part and be off on his merry way. Provide a little help, show he was useful but just keeping a good report. You couldn’t do your job too well and become indispensable, just good enough.
Kisumi didn’t think much of the nickname. He didn’t mean it in a demeaning way. She was a princess in the eyes of their world. She had the potential to create great waves within their community. “I wouldn’t dream of it…” he replied truthfully when addressed to not underestimate her.
A smile was brought to Kisumi’s lips, this one small and only hinted at the corner of his left side. “You don’t need to worry about me.” He insisted but glad that at least in someone’s eyes he might be deemed worthy. At least he piqued Nun’s interest.
“Come now, let’s show you something worth taking note of.” In true Kisumi form he took long strides as he lead the petite blonde to the car garage. There waiting in his parking spot was a true beauty.
His baby.
Kisumi’s pride and joy sat parked. “say hello!” He called and hit the key’s button for the car to honk and flash its’ lights in pretend greeting. A beautiful baby blue Porsche. Kisumi’s current one true love. Kisumi of course being a gentlemen went to the passenger side to open the door for Nunnally, “Please make yourself comfortable.” He insisted before rounding the car and climbing into the drivers side.
