105: There is No Comparison

Star Trek: The Motion Picture's 40th Anniversary.    After its cancellation in 1969, Star Trek fans didn't have many options for new adventures of Captain Kirk and the Enterprise aside from a few comics and novels, and a short lived Saturday morning animated series. Even with very limited new material, television reruns fanned the flames of fandom. Star Trek conventions began to pop up, and one burning question that every fan asked was whether or not their show would return to television. Attributed by many to the success of Star Wars, Paramount shelved the plans of a new series in favor of a big screen voyage. Over the years, the first movie of the franchise has been very divisive among fans. While there are many people who pan the film, there are just as many loyal lovers who continue to champion the originality of the movie. Now, with the 40th anniversary upon us, Star Trek: The Motion Picture is having a renaissance with many people giving it a new look with a fresh perspective.

In this episode of Melodic Treks, host Brandon-Shea Mutala is joined by Neil Shurley to discuss the score to the first Star Trek film. Evil Has Always Lost Chapter 3

It was now midnight, Chuck sat staring at Dean's body as Sam and the other's were very confused "Chuck, can't you revive dean and clark?" sam ask's as Chuck look's up at Sam and shakes his head "Dean can't be revived, sam" He say's bluntly "He's gone" He stand's up and glare's at Sam "He's gone because YOU wouldn't move" he say's fiercely as Sam Winchester look's at him "what?" he ask's confused as Chuck shurley glare's fiercely at Sam "you have no soul, sam" He say's bluntly as Sam Winchester step's back Luke Van Helsing turn's toward Sam "we saw your soul return to you!" he scream's as Sam Winchester look's at him then chuck "i have a soul--" Chuck cut's him off "Liar! you know i am God and you lie to my face. to their face's" he glare's as Sam Winchester look's at him Luke Van Helsing grabs him by the shirt and slam's Sam again the wall "So, you let that happen? you let your own flesh and blood die!!!!" He punches Sam as Sam look's at him "and i'd let the others die too" he say's as Luke Van Helsing reers back Chuck grabs his arm staring at Sam "you are not Sam Winchester, Sam winchester is a soul, but you---you are empty, like demon's" He say's before rubbing his temple "YOU knew dean was the warrior and you let him die, i should send you to the cage and see how you like the torture!" he hisses venomously as Sam Winchester blankly look's at him "but you ain't got the stone's, son" he say's as Chuck Shurley stare's and stand's straight up his eye's darkly staring into soulless Sam's eye's "then i will show you my wrath, You who lack's a soul to understand a damn thing!" His hand glow's as Sam Winchester stare's at him "a hand show? yeah castiel, does that and it's not impressive" he say's as Luke back's away Chuck Shurley draw's his hand back eye's glowing a golden hue blinding all in the room as Sam Winchester grasp's the situation "wait, wait! you're god you made a promise never to interfere!" he scream's as Chuck Shurley grin's at sam then sling's his fist out sam Winchester's eye's widen at how huge the ball of light was and leap's as the ball of golden light slam's into the wall creating a gaping hole where the back of the bunker once stood as wind furiously blew through fire engulfing the bunker as Soulless Sam stared at chuck his clothes tattered "you--" he utter's as Chuck glare's at him "your soul has been gone since YOU allowed it" chuck snap's as he look's at Dean's corpse then at sam "you let that happen, YOU betrayed dean. now you must retrieve his soul" he growl's as soulless sam shake's his head "i won't" he argue's back as Chuck glare's deadly into his eye's "you will, sam" he state's as Soulless Sam glare's back "so what if he's dead? Dean's not my problem" he say's as Chuck sigh's then stare's into sam's eye's "no, Dean isn't. but, lucifer is. find dean's soul or you can face lucifer alone" he say's as Soulless sam look's at him "where's his soul?' he ask's as Chuck stomp's the ground a gaping firey hole surrounds the ground between them "hell, you let him die now you get to go and see what your soul had to see an don't think it'll be easy this time to escape, because hell be sealed shut until you find his soul, you understand, now see the demon's for their real selves, Sam" he clap's his hand's hard as Soulless sam back's up "wait, wait! i didn't agr--!" he fall's through the hole screaming as Chuck seal's it shut behind him. Soulless sam slam's hard into the ground everything around him molten lava he lift's up onto his knee's and look's around seeing the sky swirling red he look's down and there before him stood a grotesque demon with half it's body mangled Soulless Sam leap's to his feet "what you supposed to be? my nightmare?" he joke's poorly as the demon stare's at him "you could say that" it replie's claw's extending "and i'm not alone" it replie's as Soulless Sam look's all around grotesque demon's climbed up from the ground several hell hounds following behind them he blink's for a moment "really? you need an army to kill me?" he say's as the demon smirk's "oh, no. we don't need an army this is hell and when you're in hell, the odd's are again you" he say's before whistling the hell hound's snarl and jump down infront of Soulless Sam "you know of them, from your brother's unfortunate death" He sneers as Soulless Sam look's at him "I suppose i have" He say's pulling out the demon blade as the demon stares at him "oh, you dare mock us with a weapon birthed here?" he says before snapping his fingers the hell hounds charge at Soulless Sam who stood his ground the first hell hound lunges biting into his right shoulder but, a demon blade plunged deep into its chest send's it to the ground as the second hell hound charges around him Soulless Sam turn's cuting it's head clean off blood flying over his head the demon's snarl then charge at him as Soulless draws his sawed off shotgun and fire's into the demonic crowd causing the demon's to react in bemusement until they notice what had come out of the shotgun too late as devil traps fly everywhere striking every demon an pinning them as Suddenly Soulless Sam goes flying an smashes through a firey wall landing on his back he lift's up to see John Milton staring at him "Let me guess, the big man up there sent you here to save your brother's soul? For christmas? EH EH! you boy's are alway's escaping my cozy home and it end's now" he say's folding arm's behind his back "Sam, you are not the vessel no longer, hell you were never the vessel! My boy, you were the right choice at the right time! but, you went and threw us into that cage again, and i gotta say sammy, that still pisses me the fuck off!" fire exlodes toward sam who roll's away and get's up running as John milton walk's after him "Sam, Sammy, Samuel, Boy, where you going? where ARE you going? this is the new hell, i didn't like the old one quite as well!" he scream's as the ground trembles soulless sam leap's over onto the platform as john milton appeared high above him "your brother's pathetic soul is up ahead, in my throne room, boy" he walk's toward the firey castle ahead "if you even make it there, i'll be sure to kill you nice and slow" he smirk's fire burning behind him with each step. Soulless Sam stand's up and look's ahead his eye's slowly widen to see the obstacles in his way "you've got to be kiddin' me?" he rubs his eye's then checks his jacket for another gun finding his pistol he pull's it out and cock's it walking off the platform and up the firey road. inside lucifer's throne room, John milton sat upon the throne looking at Dean Winchester who was chained to the wall "you're not so pestering when you're like that, dean" he say's then lean's back "from here, you look like a lost puppy" he say's as dean fires back "from here, you look like a justin bieber knock-off" john milton shoots up glaring at him then calm's "dean, dean, dean, keep saying thing's like that and you'll be tortured worst than alastir tortured your ass" he sit's back down as Dean glares at him "it couldn't be more worser than listenin' to you talk dude" he retort's as John milton look's into Dean's green eye's "you have such pretty eye's" he closes his hand as deans eyes explode blood gushing all over the place as dean scream's john milton smirk's treating the screams like music to his ear's "any more to say deannie boy? you're in my house now, bitch!" he grin's licking the blood off his hand's as Dean look's up a bolt of lightning slam's through the throne room hitting Dean throwing john milton out of his throne and again the wall of fire he look's up to find Dean out of the chain's something different about him. John Milton stare's at the heavily glowing Dean who was looking at his arm's and seeing a glow as he look's up at John Milton, Milton look's at him "Your soul--" John Milton's eye's glow a firey red and point's at Dean "You mean to fuckin' tell me that YOU, you, you, you, you are the goddamn Warrior!?" He reer's back both hand's as the throne room rumbles crowley grab's his right arm and Castiel grab's his left arm as John Milton sling's both through the firey wall "Oh, i don't think so you're in my world now bitches!" He sling's fire ball's at crowley then at Castiel as Castiel is sent flying through a door and is pierced through the chest crowley swallows the fire ball and spit's it back at milton who is struck in the face peeling off the human flesh of his vessel and revealing a red horn protruding from his forehead "The lap dog's on fire! whoo oh!" He closes his hand cracking Crowley's neck as Dean look's at them then his glowing hand's confused as John milton glare's at him "Isn't it obvious, grunt? you are the fucking warrior" He say's looking at Dean's wing's "And you even have a pair of wing's, oh boy, i think we have a bragger, i hate bragger's!" He sling's dean through the firey wall then jumps leaping out on to the black asphalt as Dean get's up looking at him "I have no idea what you're talking about 'cause i don't have wing's" he say's as John milton crosses his arm's "oh, really? so if i were to toss you into the pit of this hell you could not fly out? interesting!" He sling's dean down into the pit of hell as Dean scream's falling faster toward the lava only to be halted by something. Dean look's over his shoulder's to flying glowing wing's protruding from his back he blink's rubbing both his eye's as John Milton grit's his teeth shattering his human teeth and trembles with rage "Dean Winchester, warrior of God, who would have guessed!" he say's then conjures a firey wall "Too bad, the fun end's here" He sling's the fire down toward Dean who turn's and quickly swerves to the side suddenly appearing on the ground infront of Milton "i ain't a warrior" He say's as John Milton glare's at him "oh, you're a warrior alright, you're HIS warrior, i should have known all the year's you were a thorn in my side and it was you, not your brother that was an unfair joke by my father--you, a guy like you, are the warrior, you're only 6'0 you gorge on lot's of food, you drink, you fuck, but you're the warrior of God, and all this time i thought it was Sam what with his cuteness, puppy dog stare's, he whine's, bitches, but no it's you the brother who eat's a lot" He rubs the temples of his eyes then look's into Dean's green eye's "and now i have the chance to erase your soul forever" He hold's up a hand high above his head "Which will end whatever chance my father had of stopping me" He say's as the sky's turn firey Dean winchester look's up as Chuck grabbed Milton's arm Milton turn's quickly and is sent flying through a pillar and into the wall of his castle, Chuck turn's to Dean hand in pocket "He never learn's" he say's as Dean look's at him then his glowing body seeing that he was in just jean's and boot's "uh, what give's?" he ask's as Chuck look's at him "that's your soul dean, you're in your warrior cloak, that mean's you have access to thing's my archangel's have like for instance this sword," He pull's out a elegent sword that glowed and tossed it to Dean who caught it"And you have the ability of teleportation, something these pesky little vile demon's like to use often, only you can only use this if your dead" He say's then look's toward a now standing john milton "Does it hurt? oh, i abandoned you alright son, taking a vacation with my sister is not abandoning someone undeserving like you" He turn's back to dean "that is only an illusion of lucifer, kill it the real one is up there on earth" he say's as Dean look's at Chuck "why me?" he ask's as Chuck look's at him long and hard "Because of the many warrior's i have ever had through out time, you were the only one to handle the pressure's that he threw at you, The only one to not give up hope that there was a way to kill the beast" He say's then vanishe's as John Milton clap's his hand's from the debris then saunter's toward Dean "you didn't crack under pressure! HAHAHAHA! you, because of that? My father really, Really has a lack of truth!" He stop's 10 meter's from Dean "your brother is here too, you know" He crack's his neck at an ungodly angle then peel's the skin back on his scalp "you winchester's have been a real pain in my ass! how long? 11? no! 12 year's! and still you think you can kill the devil" He say's as his other horn come's out "I'm not smoke, me boy, and i sure as hell ain't a white light" He crack's his hand's ripping the flesh off his claw's "You on the other hand must have sucked my Father's Dick! to have what you do not deserve, this is an insult to what i once was!" he look's dean in the eye's "and i'm not even me! well, i am me, but i'm not even here boyo! so this little tirade you fella's are planning it's gonna fail just like alway's" he look's at Dean then rip's the flesh from his torso "You're in hell Dean, this mean's you aren't seeing me for the vessel i have but, my real true visage and me, Daddy's gifted me the knowledge of who the warrior was this whole time and now if i get rid of you, Daddy loses everything! first his warrior, then his throne" He say's fire errupting behind him as a souled wall appear's beside him "I'm sure you recognize this Dean, this is where i keep soul's like your's, this is the wall of the damned and adding you will be my finest achievement--well, that and the day daddys little toy tasted the fruit of forbidden knowledge" He look's skyward "and now you get to see what should have happened so long ago!" He roar's his eye's glowing red "What happened to mummy and daddy that was all for this moment, little dean, Oh four year's old and mommy burn's on the cieling, daddy turn's into a unemotional dispondent dickhead and do you know why dean?" he ask's as Dean glare's at him John Milton smirk's "Because of you, that's right Dean, Cause of you" He sneer's as Dean remained silent "You killed your own mother and you couldn't even save daddy, from a fucking weak demon i might add, azazel wasn't even a knight but you, had trouble killing him, took you a full two year's! all those year's you've blamed yourself it's all true dean, believe me i know" He crosses his arm's "I am the devil, and i always know. you're the reason for your broken dysfunctional little family and now you stand infront of the devil a sad dead broken man, that GOD say's is his warrior but as i look at you, and i stare at your green eye's i do not see a warrior, i see a child that couldn't even CUT it as an adult, a sad broken child that couldn't even protect his little fucking brother, a sad broken child that brings death to all, you're the reason sammy died by that nigger, by that filthy nigger but, you couldn't even save him" He stare's into Dean's eye's walking toward him "Phew, has it ever occured to you that the world is safer when you are the only one dead? i mean come on, you have been the cause of your mother, father, brother's deaths and you've caused so much more death's" He walk's around dean placing a hand on his shoulder "You are the reason so many of your allies die because you don't want to be alone, the fear of being alone forever grip's tightly at your throat! you can't even have a relationship without it breaking down into heart ache" He stood infront of dean staring into his eye's "God told you you were his warrior and yet, you're not--you're just a child who fear's being alone forever" he say's staring into Dean's green eye's "It's true, you are still that little boy who saw mommy burn to death on the cieling, Run dean run, oh the horror you experienced and you don't fear me not like your pathetic over-sensitive snivelling little brother oh no, as i look at you i don't see or feel a hint of fear at what the devil could do to you, not even as you can see the souls of the damned in the wall behind me," He look's back at the wall then sideway's at Dean "You fear nothing, A fearless man even after being in hell at one point" he whistle's then turn's straight "You are who God Chose to beat me? look, kid look at what HE has done to you, he wrote your whole god damn existence! he had azazel kill mommy, he had azazel feed little cry baby demon blood, he had azazel be the reason your father ended up here and the list goes on an on an on an fuckin' on! you think he's the one who has your back? he could care less about you, your entire existence was solely so he could justify getting rid of me, You mean nothing to them up there or to him, what's the point of fighting Dean? you have nothing to go back too" He turn's walking slightly ahead then turn's arm's spread "You're just a puppet, nothing more. no matter what you do you'll alway's be alone, alway's. it's envitable that Dean Winchester is not allowed a happy ending. and you know what? He spin's back looking into Dean's eye's "so, Dean are you prepared to die for good?" He ask's venomously then stomp's the ground cracking it open then look's down then at dean "oh, i think you're going to like this, daddy forgot to mention my pet" He walk's toward the wall of the damned as Dean look's down the now ground cracked street his eye's widening as down in the crack stood a 800 foot hell hound with three head's and red eye's john milton clap's his hand's "oh, i believe you've heard of him, this is cerberus, an he's not as stupid as flugffy from harry potter, i advise you to step away" He click's his tongue snake like as Dean Winchester back's away from the growing crack Cerberus growl's then slam's paws up on the street level cracked road as Milton grin's looking at Dean "It's not easy as you thought? why? because you didn't get to see ALL of hell Bucko!" he snap's his fingers as Cerberus leap's up on to the street causing the whole area to tremble, knocking Dean on his ass as Dean look's up at the 800 foot hell hound of a giant he stand's up slowly his grip tight around the sword as John Milton look's at him annoyed that their was no fear on his face "You're supposed to be scared! you FEAR dog's, dog's, you fear dog's! that is an 800 foot giant dog! YOU'RE not playing fair!" He scream's as Crowley appeared beside dean looking up at Cerberus and whistles hand in pocket then look's at Dean "well, Squirrell, it would seem you've pissed him off beyond the norm" He look's up at Cerberus who was breathing fire from their noses "This is our dog, Dean" He rock's back and fourth on his heel's "it would seem if we are getting you out of hell we have to kill the dog" He look's over at Milton "and the surrogate" He look's at Dean "i suppose i can't let you have all the fun, can i? i was thinkin' how's about a improptu team-up, like you an moose alway's do! come on squirrell it'd be fun, it'd be like laurel and hardy but without the slapstick!" he say's as Dean look's at Crowley then back up at the 800 foot beast "Alright, Douchebag, how about we team-up this one time" He retort's as Crowley look's at him "eh, one time? that's it? phew, was expecting many more to come mate, but i suppose it's only right cause when this whole human blood wear's off i'll be back to trying to murder you" He thrumb's up as Dean look's holding up the sword Crowley back's up "only kiddin'" He say's then look's up at Cerberus before feeling A white light and seeing Castiel on Dean's other side "Oi, two's more than enough y'know? no one invited you ya brown trench coat bastard!" he says as Castiel look's at Dean ignoring crowley "Cerberus" he replies as Dean quirk's a brow "i already know who it is, Cass" he say's as Castiel look's at him then at Crowley who was looking annoyed at him "Oh" He respond's then turn's to the 800 foot giant hell-hound who was staring at them Milton raise's a hand "Dean Winchester, and his two goon's, it's time to die once and for all you will see what the devil hold's in the palm of his hand" He look's up at Cerberus "Cerberus!" he scream's as the Hound look's over it's shoulder down at the Horned figure "you see Those Three? of course you do, They are your next meal but, kill the one with the golden wing's that one's for me! HAHAHA!" he throw's a fire ball at Dean as Cerberus breathe's fire it's huge claws baring sharper nail's as Crowley look's up at a paw coming down toward him "Oi! moppet! i'm your king!" He roll's out of the way as Cerberus breathes fire his way Crowley snap's finger's as The fire flies right back at Cerberus who swallow's it and rebreathes it out hitting Crowley who scream's falling an rolling, Castiel turn's his wing's extending and Cerberus turn's quickly swatting Castiel through a flaming wall then leap's at Dean who turned and ran as Cerberus land's with a thud and run's after dean the ground trembling with each thrust of the hound's paws as Castiel flew toward him the Hound swatted him down then stomped a paw down upon him then continue's it's pursuit of Dean as many Demon's see the hound coming up the road they scream running to the sides but, it was too late as the ground cracked an cackled sending fire every where Dean Winchester skid;s across the ground and under a broken building that was collasping as Cerberus rushes and charges through the building causing debris to fly everywhere.
