Lilies to Houses and a "Superfund Site" in between
Mom, Sandy Thurlow, standing in front of slash pines and palmettos at Justin Wilson Park in Palm City. The park lies just across Mapp Road from The Oaks. It is so wonderful to spend time with my mother. We are working on a book about Palm City so this past Saturday we went for a drive. One of the places we visited was the old Hupfel Lily Farm. Mom was telling me about Martin County’s long flower…

In episode five of The Movement presented by AT&T (Season Two), host Calen Carr travels to Jackson, Mississippi.
Despite not being known as a soccer hotbed, Jackson launched the career of longtime MLS-vet Justin Mapp and vaulted Marlon Hairston of the Colorado Rapids and Marcus Epps of the Philadelphia Union to the league in recent years.
Carr explores how these players emerged from the nascent Mississippi soccer scene and laid the foundation for the game to grow in “the ‘Sip.”

[TASK 178: GRENADA]
There’s a masterlist below compiled of over 230+ Grenadian faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever faceclaim or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK -  examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by an artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on culture and customs.

NASA selects four companies for lunar sample purchases

NASA selects four companies for lunar sample purchases
Tumblr media
WASHINGTON — NASA has made awards to four companies worth exactly $25,001 to obtain lunar samples, part of an effort by the agency to establish a precedent for ownership and use of space resources.
NASA announced Dec. 3 that it issued awards to ispace Europe, ispace Japan, Lunar Outpost and Masten Space System for the collection of small amounts of lunar samples. The companies will be responsible for flying missions to the moon and demonstrating that they have collected the material through images and other data. NASA will then take ownership of the materials.
The agency announced the initiative in September, emphasizing that the awards are less about the samples themselves than about being able to extract and use lunar resources. “What we’re trying to do is make sure that there is a norm of behavior that says that resources can be extracted and that we’re doing it in a way that is in compliance with the Outer Space Treaty,” NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said in a Sept. 10 speech.
NASA officials reiterated that point in a call with reporters about the awards. “We want to demonstrate explicitly that you can extract and you can utilize resources, and that we will be conducting those activities in full compliance with the Outer Space Treaty,” said Mike Gold, acting associate administrator for international and interagency relations. “That’s the precedent that’s important to set.”
NASA received 22 proposals. Phil McAlister, director of commercial spaceflight at NASA Headquarters, said the agency used a “lowest price technically acceptable” approach to evaluate the proposals, first determining whether or not the proposal was feasible and met the agency’s requirements. He said 14 of the 22 proposals were rejected either for technical issues or costs that went over the agency’s limit.
NASA then selected proposals starting with the least expensive, continuing until it reached its budget. That meant NASA selected one proposal, by Colorado-based Lunar Outpost, which offered to sell NASA lunar material for $1.
“Lunar Outpost chose to bid $1 as a token amount,” Justin Cyrus, chief executive of Lunar Outpost, told SpaceNews. “Bidding at $1 was meant to show this contract as Lunar Outpost’s contribution to the field of space resources to enable the establishment of a legal and procedural framework.”
Lunar Outpost is developing a rover called MAPP that it will fly to the moon on another company’s lander. While NASA said that Lunar Outpost will fly on Blue Origin’s Blue Moon lander to the south pole of the moon in 2023, Cyrus said his company is also in discussions with Intuitive Machines, Lockheed Martin and Masten about flying on those companies’ lunar landers. That mission, he said, will be paid for by flying payloads on the rover from other, unnamed customers.
Japanese lunar lander developer ispace received $5,000 awards for both its Japanese and European business units for separate lunar lander missions, one to Lacus Somniorum in 2022 and the other to the south pole in 2023.
“For ispace, this collaboration with NASA in two regions where we operate shows the positive momentum for our development as an internationally operating company,” Takeshi Hakamada, chief executive of ispace, said in a statement. “For the space industry, as well as the potential for all industries on Earth, this marks the beginning of a cislunar economy where economic value can be created on the Moon, apart from Earth — but for the benefit of Earth’s economy.”
Masten Space Systems received the largest award, $15,000, for a mission to the lunar south pole in 2023. The company won a Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) contract from NASA earlier this year for a lander mission that will carry nine science and technology payloads.
“In case there is any doubt: the lasting impact of today’s news that NASA is purchasing Moon dirt from Masten is about knocking down uncertainty and risks that make economic activity beyond Earth too risky to act upon,” the company tweeted. “Today’s Lunar Regolith Purchase is small measured in dollars, but monumental measured in impact on unlocking the value of space for humanity.”
The two ispace companies were among four from outside the United States that submitted proposals. “We actually saw an advantage of other countries coming in to this activity,” McAlister said, by bolstering broader policy goals. Luxembourg, where ispace Europe is headquartered, has a law that grants companies rights to space resources they extract, based on one the U.S. enacted in 2015. Japan is considering similar legislation.
NASA hasn’t made plans for how it will collect or use any samples those companies collect. “While a lot will depend upon where initial human exploration activities will occur, there is certainly a strong possibility, particularly for the activities that are occurring in the south pole, that we will indeed be able to collect the samples for analysis,” Gold said.
The awards are arranged such that NASA pays the companies 10% at the time of award, another 10% at launch and the remaining 80% once the sample is collected. That structure is valid even for Lunar Outpost’s $1 award. “Is NASA going to cut a check for 10 cents? The answer is yes,” McAlister said. “Yes, the postage is going to be more than the check, which is kind of amazing.”

#Guarda~ora【2020】1917 Film Completo [[HD]] STREAMING ITA 1080p~
TRAMA 1917

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mecha Combat #1063 - August 3350 King Chrono
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1063
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the August 3350 King Chrono
The Gaming Authorities decided to have a (very) short unlimited Chrono.
I was nearby when the announcement was made, and managed to find a formation that might work.
Signing up was a work of seconds, and the top was mine for the asking.
Now was the time to look at the particulars.
Hmm…. All the official scoring was to begin some hours from now. But I have been in these events before, and most of the time there are some unscheduled scorerounds as well.
I stayed awake for a while, and it seemed my crew was on top of the situation, none of the opponents seemed particularly threatening.
So I made a mistake.
I returned to the compound for some much needed rest.
When I returned the situation was grave. My forces had been dispatched to the foothills and the top was held by Jason Pedracini of the Diamond Dragons.
I had not had a lot of fighting against him beforehand, but here I got it in spades.
In general I could beat him five out of eight tries, but he kept coming back, and his score advantage was such that after a while it was obvious I could not outscore him.
I settled down to record the fighting on the other tops, and when the light flashed I knew the top scorers was:
Div 1 355+ (19 Commanders): Dexter Berry, Warlocks/Dragons (+7120)
2: Ben Rail
3: Claude Poirier
4: Fabio Favaro
5: Bernard Johnson
6: Jeff Haas
7: Gary Muenzel
8: Daniel Scott
9: Terry Cole
10: David Buchanan
Div 2 -354 (12 Commanders): Justin Verret, Death`s Collector`s (+8060)
Div 3 -226 (10 Commanders): KiloToneRecoil, Warlocks/Dragons (+4820)
Div 4 -188 (14 Commanders): Jason Pedracini, Diamond Dragons (+2350)
Div 5 -154 (24 Commanders): Jelloshots Suckeddown, Diamond Dragons (+9500)
Div 6 -109 (14 Commanders): 1GoML, Diamond Dragons (+2620)
Div 7 -84 (22 Commanders): Mike Slowenski, Diamond Dragons (+1240)
Div 8 -64 (15 Commanders): Ila Mari Antonsen, IPG 1 Cannon Fodder (+2270)
Div 9 -42 (13 Commanders): Don Rafael, T.B. 1st K.H. (+1190)
Div 10 -27 (7 Commanders): Enigma (+6980)
Div 11 -17 (9 Commanders): Mapp Chapp (+2320)
Total Contestants: 159
Total medals claimed: 139 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the 40 ton event we just had, the number of contestants dropped by thirty-two. Here I am tempted to blame the shortness of the Climb, not the fighting spirit of the Commanders.
Given the low attendance, and the usual imbalance between the tops. a total of twenty-six Bronzes from seven tops ended unclaimed and were returned for resmelting.
Highest score achieved in this event was 27 500. That is the score given for staying at the top for twenty-two continuous score rounds. Those who managed to do so was: Unaligned Enigma on K10, Jelloshots Suckeddown of the Diamond Dragons on K5. KiloToneRecoil from the Warlocks/Dragons on K4 and Justin Verret from the Death`s Collector`s on K2. Jelloshot Suckeddown also had the biggest gap to the runner up, -9500.
Lowest score needed for a medal in this event was 440 for a Bronze on K4.
Five Golds was won by a margin of more than 3000, but two by less than 1250 (one scoreround on the top).
This is pretty close, and makes one wonder about the differences between the medal tiers in this event:
..Silver to Bronze....Bronze to nothing
Div 1 ...…..620......…….280
Div 2 ......3380......…….N/A
Div 3 ...…..360......…….N/A
Div 4 ......3750......…….N/A
Div 5 ......1360......……...60
Div 6 ......1860......…….N/A
Div 7 ......1620......……...20
Div 8 ......2560......…….N/A
Div 9 ......2940......…….N/A
Div 10 ….2740......…….N/A
Div 11 ….3340......…….N/A
Due to the low participation, only three of the Bronzes were contested. But they and one of the Silvers were decided by less than 1000, two of the Bronzes by less than 100.
This should drive home how important it is to sign up early.
Warlocks/Dragons did well and got a double triumph (Mount Olympus + K3). But the big celebration was among the Diamond Dragons. They brought home FOUR Golds from this event (K4, K5, K6 and K7).
This event also had a couple unaligned winners: Mapp Chapp on K11 and Enigma on K10. None of the 40 ton winners managed to get a follow-up Gold.
Upcoming event: Shocklite Surge
Coming up is a split event.
On K11 it is anything goes, on all other tops only the 20 ton Shocklites will be allowed to fight

Cordial, a San Diego startup building what CEO Jeremy Swift described as a “truly next-generation platform” for email marketing, has raised $15 million in Series B funding.
Swift and his co-founders come from email marketing company BlueHornet/Mapp Digital, which he said gave them the background to see “the market was really screaming: There needs to be a better way.”
We’ve written about plenty of other email marketing products. For example, last week I covered Stensul, which focuses on the email creation process. But Swift argued that most startups are building “point solutions” that sit on top of existing email platforms, whereas Cordial is “unequivocally” taking on the big marketing clouds offered by Oracle, Adobe, IBM and Salesforce.
“Cordial has gone to market to say you don’t need a legacy solution, plus a whole host of other point solutions, to try and do real-time messaging in a better way,” he said.
When Swift and Sales Engineering Manager Justin Soni gave me a quick demo of the Cordial platform, one of the big distinctions they pointed to was the way it uses customer data. Rather than targeting and customizing emails based on broad customer segments, they showed me how a Cordial email can incorporate dynamic elements that are updated with real-time, personal data — as Soni clicked around on different products on the merchant website, the email he was creating changed based on that behavior.
In addition, Cordial applies machine learning technology to optimize the emails — not just testing out variations on a one element, but every part of the email, from the subject line to the call-to-action button.
And while Cordial started out with email, Swift said it’s expanded to include other messaging channels like push notifications and SMS. All of that can be coordinated from within a tool called Podium, where a marketer uses a visual interface to build different communication flows based on customer actions.
Cordial previously raised $6 million in Series A funding. Companies using the platform include Freshly, La Quinta and 1-800-Contacts.
The new funding was led by PeakSpan, with participation from Upfront Ventures and High Alpha. Swift said this will allow Cordial to continue adding new marketing channels (the goal is one per quarter) and to continue investing in the technology.
