#Just wanted to make Malleus feel less lonely

Guys I missed my sleep because of this and I need it off my brain!

I don't know why but I was thinking about book 7 and how Malleus felt so lonely and stuff. (I've been playing some sonic adventure 2 again since a long time, my favorite thing was the chaos!)

So you see where I am getting at!!

Malleus who feels lonely all of a sudden gets a egg pop right in front of him! And he notices how scared and lonely it feels. He takes care of it along with some of Lilia's advice and in a week it hatches. He doesn't know what it is, but seeing how it smiles at him makes him feel happy! (I just want wholesome stuff!)

Also I drew this very quickly so it's not very good, just the idea is so adorable to me. I don't know if I should call this Au My Chao Friend or My Little Chao. I am going to do some more sketches after I sleep.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce? Lilia Vanrouge 1.0. The more cold, hard and ready to behead the next human version of the usual Lilia (also known as the Lilia Vanrouge 2.0 model)

Lilia back then was “rough” and I am being nice calling him that

Back then, Lilia was surrounded by loss and a lot of Faes getting everything they ever owned ripped away from them

Of course this impacts him (I mean he is strolling through battlefield after battlefield so of course it does)

Lilia wasn't always such a devoted follower

Yes, he did believe in the Overseer, aka you, but only after witnessing the brutality that came with him being a general did he turn into a follower with such drastic views

After all, if there was no higher meaning to all this violence, to all this loss and despair, what was even the point of it all?

You became his moral, mental and also a bit of a physical crutch for him

Whenever he felt like he was this close to just giving up, he thought about you and that this was part of your greater plan (totally not part of some valley church propaganda)

After witnessing that human hiding behind the Knight of Dawn in all his haughtiness and cruelty, he finally set out on his quest not only to make the humans leave his beloved home but also to make them into loyal believers of the Overseer

But sadly, everything was for nought and Lilia had to go into hiding

The only thing keeping him going was his believe in you having a greater plan

A few hundred years later and Lilia finally found out what that supposed plan of yours was

Laying in that cold, lonely crib was the child of his old, now deceased enemy

Taking the child, now called Silver, in he learned the joy of a family, the boy giving him more joy than anything ever before in his life

Finally, he had found peace. Of course he did. This was your plan all along, right? You must have ordered those three fairies to make his beloved son survive until now, right?

You were, after all, a kind deity. There was no way this was all just a war happening because of greed. Because if this truly was just events happening after events then...

Lilia never finished that thought

The great ruler of the night fae, mighty and powerful sorceress who could fell an entire nation in one swoop if she wanted to was despite her cruel and aloof outside appearance a pretty devoted follower since the beginning

Despite being a Fae, she was feared just like her unborn son due to her powers (and being more or less being on the same level as a nuclear bomb but hey, I doubt that anyone of us would stand next to one of those, right?)

So it is no surprise that she turned to something, someone, to feel less alone

Especially after her husband disappeared did she wish for some sort of sign that she was not alone

And oh boy, did religious propaganda from the high church take that loneliness away

When her beloved son, although in an egg, was born, she visited your altar daily, thanking you for her child being healthy

(This could also be the reason why Malleus is the way he is but I am just a writer and not some all-knowing God so idk, just a theory)

She definitely has "taken care" *cough*totallynotproblematicforarulertobeinfluencedbyreligion*cough* of Fae that were non-believers

How dare their sinful ways dirty your holy image?

See? Totally not problematic

At first she only tried to protect her subjects after the humans attacked and took over parts of her kingdom

But after a while she started to have another goal

What if she shared your splendor with those little useless invaders?

Humans were most definitely vile but you were able to unite so many different kinds of Fae in your name under the Draconia name

So why not also unite those humans in your name in a peace treaty?

Such a kind God you were! Allowing for peace in your name!

And, well, if violence and destruction was needed to make those beings understand and surrender, then that shall be what they get

Besides, she was only honoring her husbands wish to get closer to the humans so who was she to selfishly aim for another goal?

The Knight of Dawn (long name, I know) did not always believe in you

Heck, the poor guy probably never heard of you until he fought the Fae

But if the humans from back then didn't really know about you, then how did he find out about and why did he start to see you as his God?

On this part, I would say, he and Lilia were eerily similair

Both were pushed into a war neither liked, so of course he was also in a very unstable situation which made him, like Lilia, search for something to hold on to

The three Fairies had mentioned before when he was still training to become as strong as he was now, mentioning a kind deity who accepted all, who loved unconditionally

Back then he only thought of you as one of the many deities that were prayed to back then

But once the war started and he saw your churches and cathedrals for the first time, his opinion slowly started to shift until he saw you as the highest being possible

I mean, all of us would if we lost all stability over night, having only destroyed buildings and a half-standing church in front of us

He hated the plundering of your sacred placed even before he became a believer, having the opinion that it was just a cultural difference between the two kinds

This led to him kneeling at the cracked altars of many of your churches, asking for forgiveness, hoping that you would understand that he didn't have another choice

What he would do to witness one of your sermons…

And when he was lonely enough, he imagined you watching down on him from up above

Just like a... a parent

You see where I am going with this?

So when he was facing the Queen he only hoped for your forgiveness, hoping that his loving family member would forgive his gravest sin, him killing a mother

And he found salvation, in letting that child and the retainer escape

Perhaps you could forgive him now

"So, the end has arrived."

Grim pushed his lens-less glasses down his nose and stared at Silver and Lilia, both of whom were sitting on the other side of a desk.

"I'll be honest, neither of you two is the richest here. That title belongs to Malleus and Leona, respectively. But Malleus will prioritize his country over me, I mean Y/N, and Leona, well let's face it, it's only a matter of time before he disgraces himself and is off the kingdom's payroll."

Grim waved around a sheet of paper.

"Which puts both of you in third place. Oddly enough, your finance situation is nearly identical. So it comes down to who I think would be a better dad. I know this will come as a shock to you both, but Y/N isn't actually my henchhuman. They're my parent."

Lilia gasped in mock shock as Silver just stared.

Grim sighed heavily, leaning back in his seat. “An anonymous source has told me that Lilia is the type of dad to leave his son's alone in the woods to fend for themselves. So Silver, congratulations, I guess.”

Lilia jumped out of his seat, excitedly hugging Silver.

“My boy! Congratulations! We shall have a splendid wedding!”

“Father,” Silver said sternly, gently pushing Lilia away. “We don't have to do this anymore.”

Lilia quirked an eyebrow in confusion, as Grim just stared.

“I know I'll always be your little boy to you, but I'm not a child anymore. You don't have to always put me first.”

Lilia stiffened, but attempted to cover it up with a smile.

“I know, but-”

“Y/N and I don't love each other. Our relationship is purely platonic,” Silver said firmly. “I never wanted to do this, especially knowing how in love with them you are, but now that I've beaten you at something, I can tell you to man up, and confess your feelings.”

Lilia 's jaw dropped. Silver felt the urge to retreat, but stood his ground. He couldn't let his father live with regret. So he played one more card.

“It would be a nice way to complete our family. Y/N would be the perfect step parent for me. I just know it.”

Lilia 's expression softened. “Silver…”

“A true warrior doesn't hesitate in battle! Go!” Silver said with uncharacteristic firmness, making Lilia actually jump and begin to run to the door, before stopping himself with a laugh.

“I've raised the perfect little general,” he giggled.

“Go!” Silver shouted. And Lilia went.

“What the heck was that?” Grim shouted at Silver.

“I'm your big brother now, that's what that was,” Silver grinned, with a mischievous look that could have only come from his father.

….

There was a knock on the front door. Grim was out for the night, promising there would be no bill. So you were just enjoying a quiet night in. You had no doubt that if you opened that door right now, it would be someone who would cause chaos. Probably Ace. Definitely Ace.

One of the ghosts moved to open the door, but you pressed a finger to your lips. He gave a quiet snicker and a nod, and went back upstairs, ignoring the knock.

The knock stopped after a moment, and the room was silent again.

“Who are you hiding from?” A voice whispered right next to your ear, and you screamed.

You grabbed a pillow to defend yourself, and jumped off the couch, turning to face your attacker. Lilia was doing the equivalent of laying on his stomach, and kicking his legs up, except in midair. He was giggling excitedly, and you gave him a nasty glare.

“What the hell, Lilia!” You screamed. “How did you get in?”

He just giggled again, ignoring the question.

“I heard you were all alone tonight. I didn't want you to be lonely,” he hummed.

“I- I'm not lonely!” You shouted. “I have half a mind to kick you out!”

“You won't.”

“I most certainly will.”

“You won't.”

“And why, oh wise Lilia, won't I kick you out of my house?”

He grinned, and floated closer to you.

“Because you, radiant Y/N, are absolutely mad for me.”

You choked on your own spit, your face instantly growing hot.

“Egh ugh, nuh uh!”

“How eloquent!” He burst into laughter. “But a falsehood, I am certain.”

He slipped even closer to you. You took one step back, but after that froze. He gently wrapped his arms around your neck, looking into your eyes, his own burning passionately.

“Urgh, nuh uh,” you whispered.

“Nuh uh?” He smiled slyly.

“Nuh uh,” you said half heartedly.

“Hm,” he hummed. “Then prove it. Kiss me.”

You choked on your spit again.

“Huh!”

“If you can kiss me, and then tell me you really don't love me, I'll believe you and never bring it up again.”

You couldn't do that. You absolutely couldn't kiss him. Because when he was proved right, you'd definitely want to punch the smug smile off his face.

“Time's up!” He shouted, before pressing his lips to yours. 

You hated how good he was at kissing. Even if you didn't love him, you wouldn't have been able to think straight after this, and would accidentally send him the wrong message. But you did love him, which meant you didn't want to stop kissing him.

But Lilia knew that. And he liked to play with his prey. He pulled away, licking his lips as he grinned.

“Well? Still ‘nuh uh’?”

“Nuh uh,” you whispered.

“Mhm. That's what I thought. Anything you want to say?”

You yanked him back in, threading your fingers through his hair, and kissing him as hard as you could. You could feel the vibrations of his triumphant giggle. 

You pulled your pillow holding arm slowly back to hit him, but he quickly separated, gently twisting your arm behind your back, and forcing you to drop the pillow. He giggled and pressed his mouth to your neck.

“I see we'll never get bored together,” he whispered. “You're absolutely amazing.”

“Ha ha,” you said snarkily. He grazed his canines against your neck, and you froze. You knew some of your classmates said he was a vampire but…

"You just smell so delicious," he purred.

“Kidding! Let's make out some more,” before you could glare at him again, and say something snarky, he yanked you to the couch and started kissing you again.

You could get back at him tomorrow. 

Damn.

He was way too good at kissing.

Soulmate?? PSHHHHH Leona doesn't believe in soulmates. Or so he thought.

His brother met his soulmate and well we all know how that went. Leona had given up on soulmates in general since he could never find the said person.

Going to NRC he didn't think he'd meet them.

When he came across Yuu he saw their strings joined during the spelldrive incident. But that wasn't the topic of conversation that was for another day.

When they came across him again Yuu realized they were soulmates and their eyes gleamed. Leona was like Ugh an was constantly trying to fight it, he didn't really care, but Yuu of course kept pushing. He snapped at them one day and was like

"You're annoying I don't care that you're my soulmate." and then walked away.

Eventually Leona secretly began to miss Yuu's prescense but would never admit it out loud. One day he got fed up and went to go look for them. Some students were ganging up on them and he well scared them off.

"Be careful herbivore I'm not cleaning up your messes again." Liar he would.

At first he hated the soulmate thing, but he's not saying he likes it just doesn't mind it.

Floyd

He is a special case. He doesn't care enough, but he also does care. He's neutral to the soulmate thing, but if he ever did find his soulmate he'd be super stoked to meet them.

When Yuu came to Mostro Lounge to make the deal he found out Yuu was his soulmate then. However he was currently busy so he couldn't do anything about it although he's now super interested in Yuu.

After the whole ordeal he attaches himself to Yuu to learn everything about them, and just to get to hang out with them.

(Yuu literally has to force him to practice because he won't leave their side)

Eventually when they do start having a relationship he's even more loving and affectionate knowing he can kiss and cuddle his little shrimp as much as he wants.

Idia

He can barely handle a social interaction what make you think he will find his soulmate.

He's literally a shut in who is mainly on his computer either programming, doing school work, or gaming he'd not one for social situations.

The only way he found out Yuu was his soulmate was because he coincidentally went outside for club and he ran into Yuu and learned Yuu was his soulmate. Yuu figured it out too and he pulled out every excuse in the book to go back to the dorm.

Bro is not ready for the level 100 boss

Ever since then, he has tried to avoid Yuu. Emphasis on try as Yuu would probably be pushing as he is their soulmate.

Ortho at some point tells him he can't keep pushing away. He won't give up, but Ortho literally invites Yuu over forcing them to hang out.

It will take a while and some work before Idia can work up to the idea of a partner and a relationship, but he eventually does get there.

The second Yuu starts talking about marriage or a baby Idia would ramble about how he's not ready and tell Yuu to slow down.

Malleus

Poor boy has been lonely forever a soulmate would make him feel less lonely and he'd be happy that he has someone to be around. He's been excited to meet said soul mate. He'd been dreaming what they'd look like what kind of person they are what gender they are (Not that gender matters to him)

When he was outside ramshackle and Yuu came out he realized their strings connected. He was happy he found his soulmate and would be even happier if they felt the same way about him.

When he came back from Diasmonia that night he told Lilia he found his soulmate. Lilia was happy so was Silver. Sebek was like WHAT? but he will get over it. (Spoiler he ends up liking and tolerating Malleus's s/o)

Malleus X reader- when you wish upon a star

Malleus looked down at you with kind eyes as he held out his wishing star, you taking a hesitant glance at the fae.

"Are you sure you want to give it to me? I don't particularly have a wish in mind," you shrugged. Malleus urged it into your hands before stating;

"Well, grim took yours and crowley did not allow you to have a second one, correct? I have no need for such a silly tradition. If I would like something, I can simply ask for it," Malleus said with endearment hinting in his voice. You sighed before finally agreeing, taking in a deep breath before closing your eyes and making your wish.

"I wish...that the people from my world can forget me." Malleus started at this, eyes widening in shock, while you stared blankly down into your hands only to see that the star had not glown to your wish. Chuckling in disappointment you handed the rock back to Malleus, who stared at you in bewilderment.

"It won't come true, anyways," you sighed, "Like Idia said, it reacts to body heat and traces of magic. And I'm...completely magicless. What a sick reminder, I can't even make a wish," you let out a shaky laugh with a melancholic look glinting in your eyes.

"Why do you wish to be forgotten, child of man?" Malleus finally inquired, "I'm sure anyone you knew from where you hail wouldn't want to forget you, surely." You couldn't meet his gaze, instead you placed your hands in your pockets before kicking a rock on the ground down the steps of ramshackle.

" It doesn't look like I will be able to go back anytime soon. It would be much less painful for them if they forgot me, If they havent already. I...am easily forgetable. Always have been, always will be..." You shook your head as another sigh escaped your trembling lips. "Sorry... I didnt mean to sully the mood-" you were interrupted by strong arms pulling you into an embrace. Malleus was hugging you tightly, using one hand to hold your head and the other to carefully hold the star.

"I wish..." He whispered after a moment of silence and hesitation, "I wish that I will never, ever forget you. I wish for all of your woes to resolve, and I wish that you will find a way home. I wish you can smile happily in your future, and I wish you can see just how important you are."

The star began to glow brightly, more brilliant than any of the other stars that had shined during the entire starsend event. You froze in place in the warmth of his arms, it didnt occur to you that tears bad begun to stream down your face. You held onto Malleus tightly, the fae stroking your hair comfortingly.

"I could never forget someone as kind as yourself, (y/n)," he said, "even when you inevitably find a way back home, I will forever remember you as the human who treated a fae such as myself as if I were just another student. You are far more important than you may realize, and I'm sure everyone that you left behind eagerly await your return." You couldn't bring yourself to find a response, you only shook your head and cried even harder.

He really knew how to make you feel special, even when it seems as if you can easily disappear into the shadows without anyone giving a second thought. Malleus Draconia....you too, shall not forget him.

It was probably a bad idea for him to make so many wishes though. And with his immense amount of magical prowess, your intimate moment was quickly interrupted by the star shattering. Oops!

A/n- I was thinking about a scenario about maybe Yuu using their wish for Malleus, wishing he would live a life that wasn't lonely or something like that. However...I felt like it would be a...cooler twist if we had insecure and lonely Yuu instead.

i agree with the assignments but hmmm... i think malleus should be gluttony and idia lust! I feel like the same reasons we can confuse idia for pride can be the reasons why he fits lust. Whereas the reasons malleus can fit greed, is why he's gluttony if that makes sense? Also when it boils down to it, i feel like malleus can be in a sexless relationship based on pure love but i can see idia blowing his lid if he gets continually denied. I also feel like malleus has more self control and even with biological ruts, he can hold back and not "make a mistake" where i feel like idia would downright demand darling to take care of his lust. I know we always joke abt shy subby uwu idia, but ppl forget who he represents and just how depraved he can be. It can get rlly dark w him and lust >_<. But malleus, i see more of like gluttony for life and experiences. I think nothing would make him happier than to be at the center of the table, surrounded by food and drink and company and having a ball of a time. Even as the night weighs on and people are exhausted, malleus wont dismiss them as yet because HE is enjoying himself and having a good time, to the point where he is the only one smiling at the table anymore and everyone else is tortured to be there because of his gluttony for companionship. Mal is a spoiled prince and if he lacked any less, he would be envy, but he has everything. He has a lot of pride too, but not infront of player, and when it boils down to it, Idia has desire, but Malleus really just has a hunger to be accepted and loved.

AAAA ANON, THESE ARE WONDERFUL POINTS!!!!! Very thought-provoking!!! I wanted to separate sex and lust for what I have in mind for the fic (and if I wasn't writing about the seven Overblots then Rollo would immediately take the sin of lust for very obvious reasons and symbolisms. <3). I definitely agree that Malleus and Idia fit lots of different sins and so it can be difficult to assign just one to them (as well as the rest of the cast, but it's a little easier for some of them,,, i.e. Riddle's infamous temper grants him wrath by default. Azul's insatiable avarice (when it comes to his contracts) grants him greed. Etc etc.)

I do think there is a solid difference between desiring something and hungering for it, but then they also pair well together from time to time. Perhaps desire gives way to hunger. To hunger for something is to do so out of desperation (in some cases), and since Malleus is such a lonely soul and has never truly had a connection in which someone looks past the lofty title of heir apparent and future ruler of Briar Valley it makes sense for him to hunger so desperately for that sort of connection. It's why he's unable to simply let Lilia go and why he doesn't want to lose him. He can't accept the finality of an ending or parting, which is why he puts everyone to sleep in hopes that they can all find happiness in their dreams.

I think you can also argue that Idia hungers a little in book six. He desperately doesn't want the job he's set to inherit, and even when he was little he wanted to find a way to escape with Ortho. But due to the circumstances and the curse of his lineage there's only so much that can be done, or so he views it as such.

Perhaps these sins are interchangeable with Malleus and Idia depending on how you frame it. They both desire and hunger for things in their own ways. Idia's guilt and stress overwhelms him and his idea of getting what he's always desired is to reset the world alongside Ortho. Malleus's loneliness and desperation to hold onto the bonds he currently has (his unwillingness to let these go, to accept the fact that everyone will inevitably grow old and that life goes on, his desire and/or hunger to be seen and accepted for himself)......... aaaaa it's great!!!!

Rambling aside, I do love the thought of Idia embodying lust and Malleus embodying gluttony. I'm still debating between the two, but now I'm inclined to lean more towards these assignments after reading your thoughts and dissecting my own. They're very fitting from your perspective!!! >w< also,,,, I like a very dark, messed up Idia, so perhaps pairing him with lust will make for very yummy concepts.

yuu gets a letter from ambrose, asking if they would like to transfer to rsa. tired of crowley using them and not wanting to deal with overblot after overblot, they agree. how do their friends react? (first years ver)

ACE is totally chill with it, he definitely understands! (he is literally punching the wall crying thinking he maybe did something to upset one of his only friends). he'll definitely try to talk you out of going, but once he realizes you're not going to change your mind he'll quit it. he really wants to stay in contact with you, but he'll play it off as "not wanting you to feel lonely" while you're at rsa. the 20+ messages he'll spam you with each hour of the day will surely help! but seriously, please don't ever forget him prefect... his heart would not be able to take it!

DEUCE understands why you decided to do this, but it doesn't make him any less distraught. he won't try to guilt you into staying, purposefully at least, the way he mopes around upon hearing the news is sure to make you feel at least a bit bad. he promises he will always check in on you and will run all the way across sage island should you ever need him. he won't spam you like ace would but expect at least a few messages here and there, he wants to stay connected with you.

JACK also gets it. he's seen how hard crowley works you and it's no secret you're always there whenever someone overblots, working to solve yet another mess. he won't visibly show it, but he's going to miss you, a lot. you're one of the few people dearest to him, and it does hurt to see you go. but he understands that you've been pushed to this point, and it isn't something he can fix. he's not going to text you too much, instead he'll offer to go on outings with you during weekends or breaks so you can connect face to face. but this doesn't mean you shouldn't expect a couple 'Good morning' or 'Have you eaten yet?' messages every once in a while.

EPEL tries to be like jack. he doesn't want to show how much he's going to miss you, he dislikes that vulnerability. but his heart aches when he realizes he won't be near you as often as he wants to be. he wouldn't outwardly try to talk you into staying, but will find subtle ways to try and show you that nrc isn't always awful. he knows you know that though, he knows you're tired. he knows you don't deserve to be worked to death in a world you were thrown in by the cruel hand of fate. he knows it'll be better for you at rsa. he accepts that truth, but most definitely tries to talk you into staying with him and his family during breaks. if he can't see you during the school year, at least let him see you during your time off :(

SEBEK laughs at first. very funny human, you do know how to make him laugh! only, you aren't joking. oh. he panics. how could you leave him?? how could you leave nrc?? the very school that his beloved malleus attends?? when you explain your reasoning he looks at you with a deep sadness in his eyes. for once, he is quiet. he wants to say something, he wants to beg you to stay, but he knows it would be of no use. he spends more time with you before you leave, if you give him anything during your last moments at nrc he will cherish it forever. it could be anything, genuinely. whether it be a photograph of the two of you or a marble you found on the floor he will keep it forever... lowkey acts like you are dying of a terminal illness until you tell him you can still communicate through texting or letters. perhaps he will invest in some human technology just for you...

Silver thinks there’s benefits to both. It’s nice to love a person, to take joy in their successes and want them to revel in yours. It’s that mutual exchange of love and being loved that makes relationships feel fulfilling and he couldn’t imagine a world where those who he loved didn’t return the sentiment.

❌ Are they scared of being in love?

It's easier to say no when he doesn't have an actual love interest, but he doesn't think scared is quite the right emotion. He worried sometimes that he wouldn't be enough, that his sleeping issue might cause a rift, that perhaps you aren't as good a match as he liked to think... He won't let it stop him from loving you.

💐 Do they enjoy giving compliments or do they like getting them more? What kind of compliments do they give/like?

Silver is very genuine, and very blunt, about his compliments. He never minced his words and he sees it as a chance to pat you on the back, thrown off if you don’t take what he says to heart. He would much rather be the one observing and giving compliments out as it’s less embarrassing. He accepted the compliments directed his way with grace and gratitude though. He’s most likely to compliment you on your skills, hobbies, or other magical abilities.

😱 What makes them worry about their s/o the most?

Silver worried most when he wasn't at your side. It's only natural that he's with Malleus a majority of his day but that doesn't mean he's not thinking about you or briefly checking in when he has the chance. He worried that you may get lonely when he’s not around and he also worried his sleeping habit ruined the times you do actually spend together.

😎 How do they impress their s/o?

Silver isn't a show off so it's never intentional, but his bodyguard skills made him quite the fighter and who didn't love swooning over a man who just valiantly protected them? The way he carefully looked you over afterward before continuing on left you admiring him as well, knowing that despite his serious side, there was a gentle side to him as well.

He’s feeling a mix of emotions right now. On one hand, he’s relieved that you weren’t upset with him nor did you feel lonely during his absence. On the other hand, he’s astonished how he foolishly led himself to believe in such a misunderstanding (Lilia didn’t help with that either). 

If it were Malleus in his prior years before enrolling in NRC, he would never let himself fret over such a ridiculous misjudgment on his part. He’s too level-headed and above all this emotional mishaps that he has seen humans commit countless of times. He is a logical man. 

Or at least he was, before he met you. 

He found himself plagued with thoughts of you, wondering what you were doing when he’s not around or if you were thinking of him as much as he does with you? His defenses are down, he’s vulnerable to thoughts that fill him with anxiety he has never known. 

You made him more human. Now, prepare to face the consequences of such an incredible feat. 

“I’ve never experienced fear quite like this, and I would rather not be forced to contend with such emotions again. If I’m called to Briar Valley once more, would you be interested in joining me?” 

His face is red for many reasons. He’s beating himself for allowing the mindless babbles of others lead him to such a pointless worry. He should have known. What would a bunch of random plebs understand about his relationship with you? 

He’s also just super embarrassed at his actions. Even though you assured him of your feelings for him, to know how truly misled he was by the rumours left him a little humiliated. 

He does take this as a lesson to communicate with you more instead of bottling his worries up or acting on his own without taking your thoughts in consideration. He’s new to this so he’s learning. 

“I will never let the words of others sway me so easily ever again!…If Lord Malleus were to tell me something? W-Well, that’s different!” 

Not only will he turn red, this man might just spill his ink. But he won’t, he already has enough embarrassment to last him the whole semester. 

He will vehemently refuse to acknowledge that this misunderstanding ever happened. If you bring it up, he’s gonna act like he has no idea what you’re talking about, because such an event never existed. 

Secretly, he is thankful that this mishap (if it ever happened) brought the two of you closer as now he got to share and make more time together. Even the most mundane of chores or the most frustrating of concerns seem less so when you’re standing next to him. He’s truly happy for your company. 

A downside Azul realised from all of this however, is that he wants nothing more than to dock the mischievous eels' paychecks for their vague words that caused all of this confusion to happen (but it didn’t, Azul insisted). But to do so, he will have to accept the embarrassing events. What a conundrum.

“I was not worried, as you say. I simply felt like spending more time with you as any loving boyfriend would want to. I did not fall for anything! Do not listen to those cursed twins!”

- he was very quick to miss you. He notices that you donr visit and when he goes to ask why, he realized... you're gone...

- he has whatever you've given to him held close, and if there isn't anything, he hugs a pellow quietly as he cries into it

- he dosent let it affect his leadership though, he also makes sure to not put too much stress on those who are closest to you

Ruggie

- when he goes to see if you wanna steal some stuff with him or do some misalanious job with him, then he realizes, he can't, you're not there

- he feels a little lonely whenever he does some work now, so he usually does something with someone to distract himself

- i feel like Ruggie is likely to overblot, he would use his magic to prank people and do anything to ignore the fear of losing a member of his pack.

Floyd

- he would whinr about shrimpy being gone and missing you. He visits your doorm just to sit in your room for a bit when he misses you

- it happens whenever hebrealizes you should be there... and yet... you're not... he uses magic a bit less to be a bit like you so he can get some idea to be with you

- he isn't one to overblot really at all no matter what I think

Jade

- he isn't one to show much emotions on his face, he dosent know how to really, it's a challenge for him, but he misses you as much as his brother does, maybe even more

- he didn't really have friends outside on Azul and Floud, then you. You were quite interesting, and you let him express what he likes without fear nor annoyance. You happily ate the mushroom food he made, even if they could be a bit suspicious at times

- if Azul hadn't been overworking himself, he would've overblotted. But he mainly just needs to focious on Azul in these times who is also suffering

Azul

- you were definitely one of his favorite clients and workers. You managed to pick up quick on contact rules and were quite clever, fun to play games with whenever.

- when he is feeling overly emotional, he likes to burry himself in his work, and that's what he does. Focious on work, marketing, budget, whatever he needs to. He fociouses on it so he dosnt pay attention to how much he misses you

Kalim

- he has often brought up inviting you over for whatever festive even he is holding, then either remebers, or Jamil reminds him that, you're gone. He is quick to not Bing it up too much, but it does slip out. He thinks of what you would like to eat or see or do, he has a space left open for you

- he hopes dearly that you come back, or hell, he can visit you! He would love to see your non magical world and what amazing things one can do there

Jamil

- he has often pushed himself aside and has been placed aside for others (specifically Kalim) and when you helped him out of his overblot. He felt important to you, and he was glad that, atleast someone cared. Not to gain anything for themselves, but just, saved him. He could've just been killed that day, so he is very grateful for you

- he continues to actively do what he is passionate about, to improve more and more, to overcome his own weaknesses. It's what you probably would've wanted to see in him anyways

Silver

- this man is on the brink of overblotting. If Sebek wasn't there to help him share his feelings, he probably would have by now. He continues to train to try to control him magic, his sleepiness, and to protect Malleus, your dear friend, his dear friend, and his own friend too

♡ dating both of them is an interesting experience because of how different these two are. even though malleus is the one who's actually royal, neige feels more like a prince (or a princess?) than him. he's just so nice, so caring, so gentle! malleus feels more like a dragon.. ah, well, he IS one. however, their personalities are surprisingly similar when it comes to dating you. both of them are very loyal and both of them would do anything to make you (and each other) happy.

♡ neige can be very busy because of his work, however, it doesn't mean that he shows his love less often than malleus. he texts and calls you both as often as he can and he always visits you as soon as he's free. he always brings a lot of gifts and he's a very affectionate guy, so when he's with you, it feels like he actually never left. he gives you both as much love as he can when he's around, and again, it makes you feel like he never left you and malleus, but it also makes you two miss him even more when he has to leave again.

The day started for Lilia at four in the morning, he was in the living room, a cup of tea in his hands as he sat in the arm chair closest to the warmth of the fire place.

A book on his lap sat open, but unread so far, Lilia's red eyes glanced up from the glow of the fire as he heard footsteps, to heavy to be Silver, who wouldn't be up at this time anyway, to quick to be Malleus, and to untrained to be Sebek.

Well, it sounded like Sebek, but the steps were to clumsy, to untrained, to without purpose.

Lilia can remember the last time that Sebek walked like that, and a smile fell onto the older fae's expression.

The last time Sebek walked like that, he was so small, he always will be to Lilia, no matter how big he gets, but Lilia can't help but feel a sense of melancholic nostalgia when he think of his children when they were all so little, he chuckles at the memory, but pushes it out of mind.

But why would Sebek be walking like this now? Lilia thought to himself, this had been trained out of Sebek, the crocodile fae knows how to walk as to hide his presence, after learning Sebek tended to do it all the time.

Perhaps he was half asleep still, or maybe sleepwalking? Lilia snickers at that image, it was humorous, but he should get Sebek back to bed if that was the case, so with that, he stands from his chair after closing his book.

Lilia was about to walk out into the hallway where he heard the footsteps, when Sebek peers into the room, he looks tired.

"Ah, Sebek, what are you doing up at this time?" Lilia had asked as he walked closer to Sebek, who was rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he looked down at Lilia, Sebek looked calmer, less stoic, these kids really did need to stop making Lilia feel so nostalgic.

"Was looking for you.." Sebek's reply is mumbled and laced in exhaustion. Had Sebek slept? Or was he just really out of it from staying up? These thoughts ran through Lilia's mind, but he was careful not to voice any of them just yet.

"Looking for me? Is something wrong, dear?" Lilia wondered to the younger fae, this wasn't like Sebek, he was usually stoic, and thought so highly of Lilia he wouldn't go to the man over something Sebek deemed unimportant.

(Unfortunately Lilia knew that from experience..)

Something was wrong with Lilia's son, and he was going to find out just what it is.

"Not really, I jus missed you." At Sebek's words Lilia thinks he felt his heart shatter. If Sebek was trying to make Lilia cry of relief, and nostalgia it was working.

So Sebek wasn't hurt, he was lonely. Still Lilia didn't like the idea it Sebek feeling lonely, but he was here now, he could make sure the younger fae wasn't lonely any longer.

So, Lilia sat back down in his chair, pouring another cup of tea, this one for Sebek. Lilia had been expecting Sebek to sit across from him as usual, maybe even next to Lilia, but instead, the crocodile fae did something odd, something he wouldn't usually do.

Sebek walked over, but he sat on the floor, by Lilia's feet. Lilia didn't mind it of course, it reminded him of when Sebek was younger, Lilia smiled softly letting it alone.

He hands Sebek the cup of tea that he poured. "Carefully now, it's hot." Lilia warns like always, Sebek nods, "Ank you" Sebek says politely as he clumsily moves his arms up to take the cup from Lilia.

Lilia feels like he can't stop smiling, it's been so long since any of his kids have done this, it's sweet in a way. But also worries Lilia.

What exactly is going on with Sebek?

As the cup was passed off to Sebek, he just sat there holding it for a moment, fidgeting slightly, and Lilia knows that habit of Sebek's, Sebek wanted to do or say something he wasn't sure if he was allowed to.

Lilia left it go for a moment, seeing if Sebek would do or say what he wanted to without any coaxing, and to Lilia's surprise, he did.

So there the father and son were sat, Lilia in his plush arm chair, holding a cup of tea elegantly, in one hand. Sebek was sat at Lilia's feet on the floor, his torso lightly against Lilia's leg, and his head hesitantly resting on Lilia's knee, as he held the small tea cup in his larger hands.

And for the millionth time that night, Lilia felt his heart shatter, the happily broken pieces laying in Sebek's only slightly larger hands.

This all felt so familiar to Lilia, he hadn't even realized how much he had missed his kids being little like this until now.

Wait. Little like this? Lilia can't figure out why he had referred to Sebek like that, he's still sixteen, Lilia is just getting caught up in old memories.

But, little like this...Sebek had been acting like he had when he was younger, Lilia had subconsciously referred to Sebek as if he was still little and...

Oh, Lilia knows what this is, he feels so stupid for not realizing sooner, Sebek is his son, he should be able to figure out when this happens.

But he supposes Sebek wouldn't want him knowing what all of this was if he didn't tell him yet.

He smiles softly down at the younger fae, Lilia had missed this..

Sebek shouldn't be doing any of this, he should be in his room right now, he didn't want to bother Lilia.

But he didn't want to be alone...

Stupid weak brain, making him miss Lilia, he missed everyone though, but Lilia was the only one up when Sebek went into the rest of the dorm.

He totally didn't just want his dad or anything.

Sebek wasn't sure if he was allowed to lean on Lilia, it was a rather childish action in Sebek's opinion, one Silver always got away with, but that was Silver, he is Lilia's son, Sebek isn't..

Of course Silver would be allowed and Sebek wouldn't, he didn't even know why he was doing this he should have left earlier, all he would be doing would be bothering Lilia.

Everything about tonight reminds Sebek of when he was younger, when Lilia used to bring him into the cottage, making tea for everyone, to warm them up.

Sebek missed that.

All of this was a bad decision, Sebek shouldn't be here right now, Sebek's head shouldn't be resting on Lilia's knee right now.

And Sebek was so confused, because Lilia shouldn't be letting him either.

But the longer he stayed like that, the longer Lilia smiled softly, going on and on about tales from the past, the longer it seemed more and more like a bedtime story, Sebek's already fluff filled head got fuzzier.

Sebek's eyes drooped, he felt so small on the floor against Lilia's leg, one of the older fae's hands in Sebek's hair affectionately as he told so many stories to the crocodile fae.

Happy stories, melancholic stories, exciting stories, calmer stories, bed time stories.

Sebek's eyes closed all the way, he was half in and out of sleep, he was so small and so tired, you couldn't blame him.

"Have you fallen asleep, little crocodile?" Lilia's voice questions quietly. "M'still awake, papa.." Sebek's words show that he's still awake, though barely.

His voice is quiet and slurred more than before. And Lilia's voice falls silent. "Okay my son, how about we get you to bed now?" Lilia had asked, his tone soft and light, but Sebek doesn't respond, having fallen completely asleep.

Lilia can't keep a smile off his face, Sebek had referred to him as his father for the first time, a shame it was while Sebek was so tired and out of it, but Lilia wasn't any less happy about it.

He didn't mind when he realized Sebek had fallen asleep against him, he couldn't blame the little fae for it, he was likely tired after such a long night, the sun had been coming up by now.

Sebek should get at least an hour or two of sleep before school, maybe he should work on a bed time for the kid..little or not, he was still sixteen, and shouldn't go without sleep for so long, although tonight was sweet, Lilia would give him that, Sebek should sleep before exhaustion hits him like this.

Lilia sighed softly, leaning down, he pulled the larger fae into his arms, standing up with Sebek in his arms, it was surprisingly easy, Lilia supposes he hasn't lost all of his abilities to take care of his kids.

So, with Sebek cradled in his arms, Lilia steps out of the living room, and begins walking back to Sebek's room, at the same time, Malleus walked out of his bedroom, catching the eye of Lilia, who flashed him a grin.

Malleus raises an eyebrow at his guard being carried by Lilia, but nods, turning away down the hall to wake Silver.

Lilia opened the bedroom door, walking inside, closing it behind him with his foot, he lays Sebek down in bed, pulling the covers over him, Lilia smiled once more, ever so softly, as if Sebek would wake of Lilia wasn't soft enough, which might be a very real possibility with Sebek.

Lilia brushes the younger fae's hair back a little, his finger's gently carding through Sebek's hair.

And with that he leaves the room, to get the rest of his children ready for the day.

Elder God; Part Three

Summary: Idia x gn! Reader. Idia asks one last person for help saving you, while at the same time, you feel like you are on the brink of losing your sanity.

Chapters: One Two Lore Four

Idia had visited every God he could. They'd all said similar things. They loved the dimension where earth resided, but they weren't strong enough to stop Azul.

He had one God left to visit, and he didn't want to do it. 

The God of Time's domain was silent. It was dark, except for the swirling green mists that glowed faintly, and the stars and galaxies blinking as they floated merrily through time.

His servants were almost as frightening as the God of Time himself.

“It's so wonderful for you to come visit us! He gets so few visitors, so it's nice to see that his friends still care!” 

Idia followed the oldest servant, Lilia, trying not to let on how much he wanted to flee. 

“See, I think he's lonely, sometimes. Sure, we are with him all the time, but he watches all of you, and all of creation without being able to interact with it, so it can be hard for him. But don't tell him I said that, he'll get pouty,” Lilia giggled at the end of that.

It was at that moment, your cat released a meow. Idia paused, reaching his fingers into the carrier to soothe it. It had been in there for a little bit, but it would not be smart to release it in any domain. 

“Is that a cat?” He heard a voice next to him. Startled, he turned to see Silver, another one of the attendants. Idia nodded dumbly. He hadn't ever heard this one speak.

“May I?” He asked, holding out his arms. Idia nodded, handing him the crate. Silver quietly removed the cat from the crate. It snuggled close to him, resting peacefully in his arms.

“Come, come, slow pokes!” Lilia giggled, having just noticed the delay of the two of them.

At last, they arrived before him. He was just as terrifying as Idia remembered. He floated in midair, palms extended, legs crossed, his eyes closed in meditation. The green fog swirled more densely around him. 

Idia’s mouth went dry. Lilia gave him a gentle nudge, and he snapped out of his reverie.

“Lord Malleus, I require assistance.”

The Lord of Time’s eyes opened, his glowing green gaze focusing immediately on Idia.

"Hello, Death.”

….

“Aw, c'mon Shrimpy! You can't hide in there forever!”

It had taken about an hour for Azul's spell on you to wear off, and for your still mostly human brain to process what exactly you'd seen in that throne room. Once you'd realized you'd stared in the face of a gigantic creature who had the power to crush you in his grasp, you had bolted into a nearby room, locking the door behind you.

The twins hadn't expected you to bolt, which gave you the element of surprise. They'd been banging on the door for a while, and Floyd was starting to sound angry.

You didn't know what you would do once they got in. You couldn't run. You'd used the last bit of strength and energy in your weak new tail to make it in the door.  You certainly couldn't fight them. They had magic, and a giant god, at their fingertips.

“Y/N~” Jade sang. “The more time you spend in there, the less patience Floyd is going to have with you.”

You weren't sure which of the two of them you were more scared of facing.

“Shrimpy,” you heard a warning growl.

“Floyd, you have to remember what it's like to be so helpless and weak. They can't help it.”

Really, which was worse?

The door heaved a little on the next bang against it. Bubbles rose in the wake of that heave, and you fought back your resurfacing panic.

“If…if I let you in, will you explain everything that's going on?” You muttered. The silence was deafening, for a moment. Then, as though their faces were pressed right up against the door, you heard two voices in unison.

“Of course.”

You opened the door, and were greeted with a matching pair of pleasant smiling faces. As if they hadn't been trying to bust the door down.

“Why was he so big?” You whimpered. “And why couldn't I think clearly around him?”

The twins grinned.

“His true form is way scarier,” Floyd said with a cackle.

“Azul has many skills. But, I will say,  the legends of sirens all came from someone,” Jade hummed. “Or something.”

“Why am I here?” You didn't feel like your question was answered, but they seemed willing to chat.

“He told ya! You're gonna help us destroy your universe,” Floyd said with a roll of his eyes.

“I would never do that!”

“Weren't you just talking about how you couldn't control yourself in the wake of Azul's powers?”

The twins snickered together.

“Besides, I think there's a bigger reason that Azul wants you here. One he won't even tell us about,” Jade leaned in and took a long inhale through his nose. “You smell of death,” He said with a grin.

….

“My interference would have catastrophic effects on everything we've built,” Malleus sighed. He closed his eyes again, seemingly intent to go back to his meditation.

“Please, I have no one left to ask-”

"Why do we have time? Why are our rules in place?”

Idia froze, staring at his feet.

"Because without time, death has no control,” he whispered.

“You wish to help your little human, yes? You want them to return to you, safe and sound?” Malleus reopened his eyes, gazing at Idia almost sympathetically. “If I help you, time will pause, and you will be unable to protect them from yourself.”

Idia felt his stomach churn. Without time, he couldn't be near life. Without time, he'd be alone again.

“What should I do then?” He whispered, feeling tears in the back of his eyes.

“For God's sakes!” He heard a booming voice. His eyes flickered to the most recent of the God of Time's servants, thoroughly startled.

“You're Death! You gave them your protection! Didn't that used to mean something?”

“Sebek-” Silver warned.

“No, he's correct,” Malleus said with a smirk. “And I believe the God of Life told you the exact same thing.”

Idia mumbled under his breath.

“For too long, you have run from what your abilities mean. It's time to face what you are truly capable of.”

And with a snap of his fingers, Idia was returned to his domain.

“Fuck, could've warned me,” he muttered. For a second, he panicked, then he noticed that the crate, and your cat, had been returned to his shoulder.

“Brother!” He watched Ortho race towards him, not bothering to hold a human form now that they were home.

“Hey, what'd Azul say?” He asked. If no one was going to help him, his last hope was that Azul would be reasonable for once.

“He said you have to come talk to him yourself,” Ortho said bitterly. “What'd Riddle say?”

“I spoke to everyone, not just him. No one is going to help. They just are going to let earth die!”

Ortho tilted his head in thought, before saying, softly, “But it's not really earth that's the problem for you.”

“No,” he muttered, settling into his cold throne, burying his face in his hands. “I mean, yeah, it's cool and all, but they've always kinda hated me there.”

“Y/N doesn't hate you though.”

“Y/N doesn't know what I am! They don't know that I'm cursed with abilities I never asked for, that I'm the only reason they can't live in eternal paradise!”

He leaned back in his throne, his eyes closed, as though he was in pain.

“What if, in the end, I can't save them? What if all I'm good for is unhappy endings?”

“If that was true, you wouldn't have been capable of making me,” Ortho smiled sweetly. “You wouldn't have made friends with Y/N. You wouldn't be a cat parent!”

“It's not my cat-”

“Still! You're parenting it!”

Idia rolled his eyes. “But-”

“No buts! It's like all those games you play, right? The tortured hero has to save an innocent?” Ortho grabbed one of Idia's hands, yanking him from his seat. “Azul is nothing compared to your raw power! So, show him who the real final boss is!”

Ortho extended his palm, creating a portal to the only realm Idia hadn't visited today.

Idia looked at Ortho fondly, before walking though the portal.

“Ah! Idia! I've been expecting you!” Azul grinned, leaving his throne, and bowing deeply before him. Idia sighed, allowing his human form to vanish as he chose another.

“Azul, you know why I'm here,” the room flickered with blue flames that shouldn't be burning under the water.

“Yes!” A golden scroll appeared in Azul's hands. “Care to make a deal?”

The twins had been trying to convince you to practice more with your tail, but you'd refused. So, instead, they seemed intent on breaking your mind.

“And once the waters have completely flooded everything, we'll all watch as existence itself slowly drowns!” Floyd said as though reading a bedtime story.

“If it makes you feel better, there are  many other dimensions. We aren't destroying everything.”

“Wow, thanks Jade. That makes me feel so much better,” you sighed.

“And the best part is, you're gonna help us!”

“Not gonna happen!” You snapped.

“Do you really think you have a choice?” Jade said with a sharp grin. “Azul-” He was cut off by a loud boom. The room shook, leaving even the twins looking confused.

“Floyd?”

“Yeah.”

Floyd grabbed you around the middle, dragging you from the room. You struggled in his grip, shouting obscenities as he dragged you down the hall, until you arrived in front of a familiar door. You froze.

“I don't wanna see him again,” you whispered, not ready for a second chat with the God of the Sea.

“I wouldn't be too worried about that,” Jade said with a smile as the world shuddered again. “We're just here to observe a historical moment.”

Jade pushed open the door, allowing the three of you to see inside…

Not that you could be entirely sure what you were seeing.

Blue flames, and ink. Those were the only clear images that you could process. But the longer you stared, the more you could almost make out two distinct forms. And those forms were having a heated battle.

When one slammed against the wall of the throne room, that's when the world would shake as though it were experiencing a catastrophic earthquake.

You clutched onto Floyd's arm, which was still wrapped around your middle, as though it would protect you.

“Aw, Shrimpy's shivering,” Floyd giggled, holding no regard for your terror. Instead, he released you, and shoved you towards the room.

Jade swam up behind you, and placed his hands on your shoulders. He leaned in close, pressing his lips directly against the shell of your ear, as he whispered,in complete awe,

“This is a rare opportunity, so watch close. This is what it looks like when the gods go to war.”

I saw your requests are closed so I’m actually just here to ask something about your yandere!diasomnia vampire au (I’ve read all of your rules, but if I’ve misunderstood anything and broke any of them in this ask feel free to ignore this!)

Since they’re all vampires and it’s mentioned that Malleus is an ancient vampire, I’m assuming that their order of birth (if not their ages since they’re immortal) are more or less the same

What I would like to know is how they ended up as vampires? Is it a “vampire as a species that can reproduce” kind of au? Or did they each get turned by someone else?

And if it’s like that, is there any risk for reader to become a vampire (since it’s mentioned that they’re still human) maybe to make them immortal so that they may remain forever with the diasomnia group?

Also how did they manage to make reader stay with them? Why are they the first? Were there other attempts to make humans stay with them? Why did they fail?

Hey!! It actually did rain for me today as well haha, I am good, thank you for asking. Hope you’re doing well too! You’re all good I promise, I love getting asks and questions about stuff I’ve written!!

Yeah, it’s meant to be similar to canon where Lilia is the oldest, Malleus is old but not as old as Lilia, and Silver and Sebek are relatively young for vampires (compared to those who’ve been alive for centuries).

It could be read either way, but to me it was definitely a ‘they got turned by someone else’ thing. I imagine Lilia getting turned by someone in his younger days, and then going on to eventually turn people he finds dying and offers them a chance to be saved (kind of like Carlisle in Twilight if you’ve seen it lmao). So on his journey, he eventually saves Malleus, then maybe a hundred years later saves Silver, then Sebek, and they come across reader maybe fifty years later. Because of the way things have played out, Lilia does become the same father or father-figure to them that he is in canon, taking responsibility for their well-being and also their happiness (which is why he doesn’t really care what reader wants, his sons come first).

Hmm, I’m a bit indecisive about reader becoming a vampire because on one hand, they absolutely want reader to stay with them forever. At the same time, I think part of what makes them so attached to reader is the aspect of humanness which all of them have lost and now long for. Being a vampire means hiding, it means feeling ashamed, and it means being hopelessly cold and lonely for an unthinkable amount of time.

I think with reader, that sense of humanness is very refreshing to them, and it reminds them of their lives before they were forced (in a life or death decision) to become vampires. Reader is normal, and despite everything, as kind as one can be in that situation. They’re very ‘real’ and feel their emotions in a way that’s become distant to the vampires. Not to mention the aspect of taking their blood to be something sacred in a special but different way to each of the boys.

(But, yes, when the time comes, they probably will force reader to become a vampire, to make a long story short.)

As for how they got reader to stay, I think at first reader might’ve stumbled across their house, asking for help and a place to stay temporarily (during an emergency - they’re the only house for hundreds of kilometers) and then they just…never let reader leave, even after they freak out about learning about vampires.

Maybe it starts with guilt tripping about leaving them behind after the ‘kind gesture’ of helping reader when they were a stranger, then it’s some intense coercion and vague threats about not letting them leave, then (as you saw in the drabble), reader tries to run away and finds out the threats aren’t as empty as they might’ve thought. At this point, they’re aware that wherever they go, all that’s in store is Lilia hunting them down again and a whole lot of pain, so there isn’t much sense in trying to leave again.

As for why reader is the first, it’s not that they would fail to keep any human in the past, it’s just that this is the first time they’ve really wanted to. Maybe other humans have stayed with them very briefly too in the past (during an emergency like reader), but it’s just never clicked before. There’s never been someone they can agree upon, that all of them truly like enough to want to keep around; reader is the first they really grow attached to.

Okay I need to know

Your thoughts on Malleus' character

Just anything you feel about towards him

And how he's gonna end up

Mmmm well Malleus is obviously a fan favorite for a lot of folks and as much as I want to write more about him, we're limited on information about him. I like him well enough, but on the writing hierarchy, he's on the lower end of the scale cause, again, I'm limited on information.

However, I do like the fact that, as subtle as it is, Malleus doesn't exactly see humans in the same category as himself and others. Humans are "children of men." Little younglings, creatures who live and die young but are eager and energetic to want to do everything they can in that short time. But, again, they're "children," because compared to what he and his people can do, they really are children.

And that's a thought process that would irritate me and keep Malleus and I from being closer than casual friend. From what I can tell, he doesn't mean to look down on others, since he wants to be less lonely, but can't show that desperation publicly lest it becomes a weakness. That way of thinking isn't so much a thought process as it is just a feeling he's probably not aware he's showing. It's a common way of thinking for nobles and people of royalty, some are explicit that they think themselves better, others don't know they act this way but the assumption that these people "can't help themselves, so I must help," tells all of the place they come from.

Anyways, I have some pretty high hopes for Malleus, if only for his narrative to give the main character more significance beyond just being the camera that occasionally makes a comment that doesn't lead to any dialogue deviations.

And how's he's going to end up? I have no clue but I do hope he learns to grieve properly. And I do hope that the us, the main character, are not just another tacked on element that only has minor relevance after the events happen.

Ive been putting people in the backrow of the history class lessons as pairs and i normally put people that are friends (or Leona and Malleus)

And today i put Ortho beside Malleus and now im wondering

How would Ortho be like around Mal? Would he be open and ((less)suffocatingly) welcoming like Kalim is with everyone? Would he ramble about himself to Malleus? Or would Ortho ask Malleus a milllion and one questions cus he wants to be friends with the fae that everyone keeps avoiding for some weird reason?

I can imagine Malleus teaching Ortho about gargoyles and grotesques a lot and maybe Malleus can tell Ortho stories about places he's been to and things he's seen people do (cause Ortho may soon pick up that he hasn't experienced these first hand) then Ortho would ask if they could do random friendship things together (idk myself uuuuuuhhhh-)

Ortho invites Malleus over to play games and watch shows and Malleus is EXSTATIC because not only has he made a new friend but they wanna hang out and do things together too???? Is this a dream????? He hopes he never wakes up back to his lonely royal duties

Idia in the middle of this all TERRIFIED that the UR+ character of the school is INSIDE HIS BEDROOM and is willing to watch anime with both of them even doe he has no idea of what it is and whether he'll like it or not (he doesn't care he just wants to be around more people)

And then Idia is somehow the most mature in the room not only because its his bedroom and he's kind of Malleus' teacher in how to play games, but because although his brother puts all AI in their world to shame he is still a child and somehow even the dragon fae that is possibly close to ten times his age is also a child-

Unfortunately for the school these two can get mischievous if encouraged enough by the situation and they will make it everyone else's problem.

Lilia discovers this and is joyful that Malleus has a friend and they get along so well (and he can't deny he loves their mischief even though it isn't good practice for Malleus)

If Idia ever catches feelings for Malleus, Ortho and Lilia would play matchmaker till Malleus catches on (cus he probably wouldn't be able to tell what's going on at first)

(And then there's Ortho being a robot, meaning he will live longer than most creatures so long as his integral parts are intact. Meaning Malleus has a friend that won't be lost easily to time-)

(But then there's also the possibility that Ortho could one day ask to be human again, and with Malleus being one of the literal 5 strongest mages, who's to say he can't do that)

I'm so so so sorry. I know I'm super late, I had a few things going on with my life. Especially a bunch of entrance exams for college (which I thankfully passed, but have two more in December), so I haven't had time to write in a while. But here are my thoughts on their relationship.

OMG, yess ortho and Mal would be besties. from mals birthday boy card voice lines ortho even got him an ice shaving machine though it was cutting edge tech so Mal didn't know how to use it :(

they would be menace together but since both of them has the ability to look like a kicked puppy, no one has the heart to tell them off

Idia would be having the worst time of his life. he's so tired of being the mature one over the fae who has been alive for 10000000 years (jk 700 only). mal and ortho have the ability to pout and they will.

ortho will teach mal everything about humans and machines though malleus doesn't always get it he's happy to listen to his new friend

Diasomnia is in disarray, Lilia is happy over the possibility to adopt another child, Sebek is crying over how WaKaSaMa has contracted a disease that is leading him to act this way, and Silver, despite having great difficulty in keeping awake, is the only sane one in the whole dorm. And the rest? they believe Ortho to be the newest royal of the briar valley. He's the prince's new brother and therefore their new god prince.

Idia and Mal together will be so funny. I know it'd be some cliche anime trope with Idia falling into Mal's arms (with the help of Lilia's magic) since Mal is a price and, Idia is internally freaking out.

Angst potential? angst potential.

Being immortal (almost) ortho and Mal will have to go through the losses of their loved ones, I think Idia being gone will hit Ortho the hardest because he's literally programmed to love Idia just as much original Ortho loved him, and will probably send him into an existential crisis.

And by now we all know how Mal reacted to the thought of his loved ones leaving him.

so angst buddies. Cursed to be left alone for eternity.
