Grailfinders #313: Percival
today on Grailfinders we’re finally getting back into the swing of things with one of the guys who actually found the grail, Percival de Galles. He’s an Oath of the Crown Paladin because of course he is, but he’s also a Hexblade Warlock to get a little bit eviler thanks to his holy spear. I don’t trust those pointy bastards after singularity six I don’t care how many good deeds this one’s done.
his build breakdown’s below the cut, his character sheet’s over here.
next up: Tamamo’s not
Race and Background
Percy’s background gets a little funky in the lostbelt, but for our purposes we’re summoning the og Percival, who’s just a normal man. Just an innocent Human. that gives him +1 in two stats like Wisdom and Charisma, as well as a boost to Animal Handling and the feat Heavy Armor Master, reducing all incoming physical damage by 3 points per hit while wearing heavy armor. look at that man’s tits, I 100% believe they could stop arrows.
Other Percival is of course a Knight of the Order, giving him proficiency with Persuasion and Religion. man literally watched a guy get raptured, I’d take his word over a priests’ at this point.
Ability Scores
Percival’s highest score should be in Charisma. look at him. look at that beautiful boy. do you really think he could do you wrong? and that’s how he gets ya. after that is Constitution. shielding others with your body is all fine and dandy, but I’m sure you’d like to survive doing so, right? third is Strength- it’s weird we’re saving your main attacking stat for third, but you’re fighting to protect others more than doing big damage. don’t worry, the damage will come. fourth is Wisdom, you need to be a little discerning to live in a faerie world, after all. that means your Intelligence isn’t too great- he’s got a head for strategy for sure, but I don’t think schools were fantastic in faerie Britain or sixth century england. finally, dump Dexterity. you mostly wear heavy armor anyway, and we had to give you some kind of weakness. that’s also why the lance of longinus is an actual lance in this build. a spear would be easier, but we’re already making a paladin/warlock build, let’s not push things too far or the DMs might get antsy.
Class Levels
1. Paladin 1: if we’re gonna have that heavy armor, we’ve gotta start off in the heavy armor class. as a paladin, you get proficiency in Wisdom, Charisma, Athletics, Insight, and not a billion things at once! yaaayy!
you also get a Divine Sense, letting you know the location of nearby celestials, fiends, and undead a couple of times per day. that’s probably why obebe doesn’t stick around too long in Londinium, huh? you can also lay on hands as an action, healing peeps and curing dizeeps. or poisons. you get 5x your level hp per day, and you can spend 5 points to heal a poison or disease.
2. paladin 2: at level two you get your Dueling Fighting Style for an extra two points of damage with a one-handed weapon. unlike most weapons, the lance doesn’t get weaker when you wield it one-handed. that being said I guess you can pick the Great Weapon Fighting style if you expect to be off your horse more often than not but why would you ever do that? that’s why we’re giving you the horse in the first place! in the future.
you can also cast Spells now, using your charisma to prepare and power them. I like Protection from Evil and Good on account of it protecting you from fae, very important stuff, but since you can swap out your spells every day, it’s not a huge issue. it’ll give your extraplanar enemies disadvantage on attacks and give you immunity to their charms, frightens, and possessions. you also get command and compelled duel for free! the latter’s kind of redundant, but you can only challenge stuff once a short rest, so it’s cool.
if you’d rather go on the offensive, you can use your spell slots to power a Divine Smite instead, dealing radiant damage alongside your usual stabbing. get it now before wotc rolls out their “we’re ruining everything” patch!
3. Paladin 3: at level three you can finally swear your life to your king, becoming a paladin of the Crown. as a crownadin, you can channel divinity in two ways, either issuing a Champion Challenge to everyone nearby, keeping them from moving too far away from you if they fail a wisdom save until you are knocked out, dead, or more than 30’ away from them. you can also Turn the Tide as a bonus action, giving every bloodied creature within 30’ of you whom you choose a little bit of extra hp.
speaking of health, your Divine Health makes you immune to disease, so have fun never having to worry about covid. god I wish that was me. you can also Harness Divine Power once per day, spending your channel divinity to regain a spell slot. your CD recharges on short rests, so having that extra spell or smite can be really useful!
4. paladin 4: at level four you get an ability score improvement, so bomp up that strength to really huck that spear around. right now its just a regular lil dinky lance, but don’t worry. ï̵̳͍̺͛t̵̡̪͎̹͊̏̚'̴̤͍̞̿s̷̫̥̀̔ ̸̥͔̟̘̺̾̌̐͋̋c̵̨͎͚̬̏̋̈́́̄ͅo̵̺̞̾̆m̵̬̹̮̓̾ͅì̸̧͈͚̬̾̅n̵̨͕̰̅̂͋͗̿͜g̶̮̹̪͋́͊͊
5. paladin 5: fifth level paladins can make an extra attack each action for two attacks at a time! you can also shield an ally with warding bond to take half their damage for them, or you can fairy out the truth with zone of truth. you can also find steed now, so bam. horse. mission complete. you can also turn your lance into a magic weapon if u really wanna, but we’ll get something more permanent later.
6. paladin 6: sixth level paladins can make an aura of protection around them, adding their charisma modifier to all saves you and your buddies make as long as you’re conscious. it’s kinda like charisma, in a way. I mean it’s literally your charisma, but we’re referring to the FGO skill here.
7. Paladin 7: a seventh level crown paladin can use their Divine Allegiance as a reaction to take all the damage a nearby ally would instead. if you use this with warding bond, this will actually delete half the damage an effect was supposed to do, though you can’t reduce any damage you take from this with your heavy armor.
8. Paladin 8: at eighth level you can bump up your Charisma for stronger challenges, auras, and other spells. trust me, this’ll be worth it.
9. Paladin 9: ninth level paladins don’t get anything too special innately, but your third level spells are pretty cool. Aura of Vitality lets you use your bonus action to heal a creature each turn, while Spirit Guardians lets you summon an angel to protect you. That’s not necessarily in-character, but it’s cool enough you can probably twist “protection of the grail” to justify it. you can also remove curses, create food, or even revive fallen party members with third level spells. all in all, a super useful level!
10. Paladin 10: at tenth level, you make an Aura of Courage that blocks allies from being frightened near you. though some may fake it just to shelter against you.
11. Paladin 11: our final level in paladin, level eleven gives you an Improved Divine Smite, letting you deal extra radiant damage with each attack for free. now it’s starting to look like a real sacred spear! speaking of…
12. Warlock 1: since you’re wielding a semi-sentient spear that gives you extra power, that makes you a Hexblade warlock! with this, you become a Hex Warrior, which doesn’t do too much to help you, but it does let you pick one weapon a day to use your charisma to attack instead of your strength or dexterity. obviously we intend for you to use this on your lance, but it can apply to any non-two-handed weapon. lances have the special property, not two-handed, so we’re all good!
if you really want a wolf dead, you have to hit it with a Hexblade’s Curse. with this, you can spend a bonus action to curse someone for a minute, during which you can add your proficiency bonus to attack rolls, have a doubled chance to crit, and killing the target heals you.
you also get another set of spell slots which use your charisma, but these recharge on short rests! I’d pick up Blade Ward to give yourself resistance to physical damage for a turn. it takes an action to cast, but when you’re soaking up hits for an ally, it’ll help a lot. Friends is also a great cantrip to grab, Percy just seems like a really personable guy. faeable? whatever.
for your leveled spells, Shield is always useful. an extra five AC for a whole round, plus immunity from magic missile. you can also make a Wrathful Smite as a bonus action, dealing psychic damage instead of the usual radiant and making a creature frightened of you for up to a minute if it fails a wisdom save. shield is, unfortunately, somatic, so we can’t use it too easily just yet, but we’ll get it ready in time.
13. Warlock 2: second level warlocks get Eldritch Invocations, allowing you to customize your eternal servitude to a talking stick. we’re saving one for next level as per usual, but Beast Speech will let you talk to Kuntry pretty easy. I’m like 90% sure you can talk to her in the lostbelt because she’s a faerie, but whatever!
also if your DM lets you ride your horse like you’re using your own movement, pick up Expeditious Retreat to make your ride truly magical, letting you spend a bonus action to dash instead of your main one. or even with your main one, if you truly feel the need for speed.
14. Warlock 3: at level three you take on the Pact of the Blade¸ the only pact hexblades ever seem to take for some reason. you can also take the Improved Pact Weapon invocation now, so we’ll explain the whole shebang at once. you are now able to summon a magical weapon of just about any kind to your hand as an action. it counts as a +1 weapon, though you can attune another more powerful magical spear to your pact if you want- the ritual for that takes an hour. you can also cast your spells through the weapon as though it were a focus.
you can also cast Shatter now to blow stuff up. your noble phantasm is anti-fortress, so it would feel weird not having the option to break walls.
15. Warlock 4: at level four you get another ASI so max out your Charisma for the strongest… I mean, everything really.
you also get a spell and a cantrip this level but tbh they’re not super important to the build, go with your heart.
16. Warlock 5: at level five warlocks can cast third level spells, like Tongues. speaking to everyone was a pretty jesusy sort of thing to do, and you’ve got his blood all over your spear, right? good enough reasoning tbh.
you can also Eldritch Smite now as a bonus action, adding a little force damage and knockback to your next attack by spending a warlock spell slot. now you can perform the legendary triple smite! set up a spell smite on your previous turn, then eldritch smite and regular smite on your next turn! 100% satisfaction guaranteed.
17. Warlock 6: at level six a hexblade warlock can create an Accursed Specter by killing a humanoid, turning it into a specter that follows your commands until the end of your next long rest. this ability is the sole reason we don’t go higher in hexblade that often, but everyone in LB6 is either a fae or a construct, so he might be able to do this, I guess?
yeah this is entirely because we need other stuff down the line, please ignore this level. aside from getting Intellect Fortress that’s pretty cool. it gives you resistance to psychic damage and advantage on mental saves for up to an hour. Percy’s got good magic resistance; this is a known fact.
18. Warlock 7: at seventh level you get fourth level spells, plus a new invocation. Fiendish Vigor isn’t anything too fancy, just lets you add some temporary HP to yourself for free. the real winner this level is Staggering Smite, which adds psychic damage to your lance and forces a wisdom save. on a failed save, the target has disadvantage on all attacks and checks for a turn, and it also can’t make reactions that round. perfect for getting another ally out of harm’s way.
19. Warlock 8: for your last ASI, grab the Tough feat for an extra 38 HP now, plus another two at level 20. the one real downside of this build is we couldn’t focus on constitution as much as I’d like in a tank, but this will help a lot.
your spear can also emit a Sickening Radiance, which deals radiant and exhaustion damage in a 30’ radius around a point you pick, while also preventing creatures in the area from being invisible. just don’t get too close to the spear while you’re doing this, and- oh, you have to hold the thing to use it? that’s rough.
20. Warlock 9: ninth level warlocks get fifth level spells, and if Rhongominiad can make a Wall of Light so can Longinus. we also finally get your invincibility skill thanks to Tomb of Levistus. Once a short rest as a reaction to taking damage you can seal yourself in ice, giving yourself 90 temporary HP to block the hit. Until your next turn you have a vulnerability to fire damage, can’t move, and are incapacitated, so this will drop your challenge. Still, living to fight another day usually trumps keeping an enemy who almost killed you around. all these effects end when the ice melts at the end of your next turn.
sure it’s not literal invincibility, but that’s almost a whole wizard’s worth of body armor you can pull out at will!
Pros and Cons
Pros:
having a maxed out charisma stat plus a champion’s challenge makes you great at locking enemies in place, forcing them to focus on you instead of your squishier party members. you’ve also got tons of ways to reduce the inevitable damage from doing so, with heavy armor master dulling any physical hits and your huge save bonuses keeping you from getting too hurt by magic.
when it’s time to attack, you can hit hard, with three smites in a single attack and a doubled chance to crit from your hexblade’s curse giving you some serious firepower against the big boss. if you can manage to get advantage, that gives your attack whopping 1 in 5 chances at critting.
Normally paladins only really have physical and radiant damage to work with, rendering them pretty useless against anything that resists the latter. thanks to your little dip into eternal servitude, your damage variety is a lot more well-rounded, making it easier to hit whatever you’re fighting.
Cons:
lances are bad. if your DM’s fine with the multiclassing here just stick to a spear- having disadvantage on anything within 5’ of you sucks.
Tomb of Levistus is a powerful survival tool, but it eats up one of your turns and breaks a lot of your spells and effects. if you were already having trouble surviving against something you challenged, I doubt your party will be thrill that you let it loose while you chill for a bit.
you have a slim margin for error. you don’t have a ton of spell slots to use, and your best features only work once per short rest, so if you play sub-optimally you can seriously waste a lot of your potential. no pressure, I’m sure you’ll do great against the infinite Morgan army.

I am foaming at the mouth over reading your obeguda fic ideas. Do you have any more tidbits to share even if you do not plan on writing it in full? Because WOW what a great idea. Also if you have any art or comic reccs of the two, consider dropping them ;D. Your blog as a whole has been super fun to scroll through, so hope you are having a good day!
Hi anon!! ^^ I’m glad you liked my Oberguda screaming haha
I do plan on writing lots of obeguda XD it’s just that life is keeping me from going all out XD Also I’m more of a canon-divergent or meta writer sooo AUs that’re far from canon is kind of beyond me XD
I also have ideas such as:
-Oberon getting summoned in Part1 (aka he sees/experiences all of guda’s journey)
-Oberon nearly destroying Chaldea after they had “forced” Guda to sacrifice their lives again (i wonder if lb 6.5 will have us do something more drastic beyond activating BB with Mash)
-Obebe and Dantes arguing in guda’s dreamscape (ft.Merlin being the Winner in this XD)
-Of course, more Titania!Guda Scenarios
-Melon
-Farming with Oberon (ft. Bond Level 68+1 and his dumpster of a room) XD
-Castoria eating lunch casually while Obeguda destroys the room in the middle of an argument XD
Sure! I’ll give the links to the art I love!

@avlon!: 👄 + mermer but [points at obebe and uwuther] make those ones do it
step 1) failure is unacceptable. you should stop trying.
“I- I mean, I... I’m sure, i- it’s not that ba-”
“That thing is an unrepentant monster.” Vortigern cuts the girl off with a hiss that leaves her withering, not that it’s truly very surprising. To be fair, at least she doesn’t flinch, despite the bristling bit of anxiety that tickles the back of her neck like whispy baby hairs escaping a bun. Yua looks to the side, trying to ignore the sulfuric smell that the ‘campfire’ emanates or the aching loneliness in the place of a familiar that a servant does not alleviate.
“It- is that even right? Y- you’re a bug, mo- most people wo- would call you something... di- distasteful.” Still, she manages to not entirely quail at her servant’s hissing. (Mostly because the other one, her next choice, might manage to be a bit better at answering.)
(It’s a failure if she doesn’t round them like a choir. Look at the Chaldean Master. Such a brilliant, gleaming star. So perfect. Not even with an ounce of talent, yet so much skill. Still gleaming, still shining.)
Her foot taps a nervous, rubber-soled beat.
(It’s miserable.)
("You should have died, and so should have I, because we didn’t deserve to live.” But now that they have earned the right to live, become perfect, what are you? What are you?)
The dragonfly in front of her scoffs with oversized teeth.
(It darts in not unlike a dragonfly itself, a thought driven by emerald-city wings:)
(But does something that is meant to fly, given clipped wings deserve to live?)
Yua remembers that to bugs, the dragonfly is among the most apex predators. It smells like flowers, underneath that disgusting smell, growing stronger by the second.
(No, no, she knows that’s horrible, but-)
(She knows what he said-)
“Hah! No wonder you’re drawn a fellow like me~” The dragonfly sneers, a black tongue licking lips and darting past pearly teeth. The closer she looks, she realizes they aren’t even normally sharp- they have jagged edges, like an arrowhead meant to embed itself in a target, unable to be ripped out without doing even more harm.
“Go talk to that goddess and king, first. Then come back, and I’ll tell you the worst part.”
Yua doesn’t get the sense it’s a suggestion.
She flees to the geometric, bismuth-like, encircling yet geometric buildings, infinitely cloning cubes stretching into oblivion. The ability to perceive disappears like her form, like her clothes, reborn again like a butterfly, flapping its wings for the first time-
-to be crushed underneath a car’s wheel in the cycle of everyday murder.
step 1) failure is inevitable. you should start crying.
The tower turns to her, slowly rotating, like a hanging corpse rotating in the breeze. Yua has to remember, as always, their first command to her-
Breathe.
(Those people forget how terrifying servants are.)
(They’re lucky, you suppose. Really, really lucky. After all, they have the proof of being someone with the reigns, no matter how cheaply made. Those red lines are proof of it. It’s the ability to be safe.)
(You really, really envy it.)
(No, is that truly the sin at play, envy? Or is it jealousy, that lovingly crafted mixture of smoke and spit, pride and envy’s child?)
(You walked by General Raikou, earlier this morning. In the form of a ‘shadow prefect’, she engages with the staff more. That’s bad, really, really bad! You hoped you could just scurry by, but-!)
(“You there!” Ah. You freeze in your place. A tiger of a woman approaches you, dressed so carefreely, yet her gaze cuts through you like a proper knife does fish, lightning made steel. It looks right through you, as if you are an ant, even as she ‘smiles’.)
(“Fix that skirt. It’s indecent.”)
(Those words have been spoken in worse contexts, darker scenes, where the fluorescent light and sleek metal walls are replaced by the dim mothbeat-hum of a bathroom. A fist raised. A tone full of wieldy disappointment bordering on rage.)
(In both scenes, you shakily answered: “O- of cou-”)
(And quit your stutter. You’re going to remind me of your mother at this rate.)
(The General kept walking, but that was not what you remembered. It was that she could have raised her fist, and what would they do?)
(You were one little piece, a single worker ant.)
(And you were a worker ant flagging behind.)
(...the director would have understood. Nobody else could.)
The goddess waited until you had steadied yourself. Though perhaps it was simply because the tree does not notice the ant’s scurrying.
“I- I wanted to, to a- ask-”
So her question escaped.
The tower-tree-tempest-goddess-imposter-king of metal-light-world-boundary-texture-God looked upon Yua with eyes that were made of pure, divine light. If... if a Boddhisatva (and why that word spurred forth first, and not ‘saint’, more appropriate, was not even dwelled upon, as the moon smiled,) happened upon, descended to, arose from, this humble earth, truly, she would shine the same. If He shone, there would be this same light.
So why was it barely comforting at all...?
“That one... tries their best. Tried. Does any other effort matter?” The goddess spoke, but Yua felt herself bristle inwardly yet again. No, that’s not right-
But who is a human to argue with an armament of God, a force she cannot even claim to be her Servant? When she doesn’t even know, quivering before this force, why they bothered to appear here?
“A... ah... o- okay, tha-”
“But why are you asking after that, when we’re the same?”
Yua froze. A corset of emotions dug in as hard as rocks, demanding more weight upon the ribcage. The goddess stares upon her. No, that isn’t the goddess. One is the outside tethering, but this is more the core, the shining center-
“I... I just wanted to kno-”
step 1) failure is unavoidable. you should stop prying.
Why was this servant the easiest to approach, when he wasn’t even her own? Something of... what was it called? The Counter Force? Did it matter? He was fatherly. Yua sparkled upon approaching him, movement the picture of a youthful innocence. Her hand extended out, pure, unsullied, uncalloused.
(Once upon a time, a moment you only remember, there was a woman and man who managed to fall in love, even as arranged as their match was. It was a holy and lovely day. They were eager to make a family. You see yourself in the woman’s shape, in the picture of her, decked in saffron and silk and sunflowers upon her wedding day, then sunken and sapped and sallow on the day she welcomed you into the world, the day no person can remember, the first meeting they are incapable of treasuring.)
(You too sought that sharp image, seeking the splendor in the sickly.)
The king turns to her, with his own sunken features, sharp lines. A monster, through and through. He took her hand with the restraint of something just about to snap, long locks matted together and reeking of the woods.
“You want to know about...?”
Yua blinks, confused. How did he know- ah. Right. He must have just known. Of course. Men like him must be wise, must know things, taught by wizards spinning their words behind curtains. Right, he was a wizard, right? A wise man? Shee nods, something oddly hungering in the eagerness.
“I want to know what to do! You’re [XXXXXX]! I’d trust you with anything, teacher!” Why did she call him that? Ah, it doesn’t matter, right? Not as the king’s blonde hair bleaches white, and ears become tips.
“...will it matter? What will you do when you know? Could you forgive me?”
Yua feels like something has jerked at her, like a puppet pulled to attention.
“...forgive me?” Ha... haha... what was...? When had... when had...?
The world is a mixture of sharp-edged-moon-dust and sterilized-bleach-sea-salt, creating a sandy texture like a dried up ocean. Something flickers at the edge of her eyes- she tries to turn, but is left unable.
Yua can’t even find her breath able to escape in panicked gasps, because even this is out of her control.
No. That’s not right. None of this is right. He had reacted badly, at first, but he grew to love her, supported her as she left- even his smile seemed the most genuine it had been in years- he didn’t mind her dress as long as she stayed inside- it’s not right, it’s not right, she loves him, she loves him, she doesn’t want to face this-
She’s not ready to face this-
Good enough to face this-
She wasn’t good enough to be king, and it was his fault, and black streaks to blonde and she wants to scream something, something, something-
“There it is, isn’t it?” Why is that voice so clear, yet spoken not even to her, something facing away? “There’s no forgiveness for someone like him. Someone like-”
She’s not good enough to live, she’s not good enough to face this in such a setting, such a-
...but they weren’t here anymo-
Ah. The world clears.
There’s a hand, suffocating her, the other, sharp, petting her hair. The edges of the world are fuzzy, popping in static like soda bubbles. Still, there is no motion. Even her eyes are held open by something soft. Too-numb limbs are held down by rose vines, blooming from where the thorns make her bleed.
...ah...
...from those roses, something becomes clear. The king she spoke to isn’t the one who steps from the blur-crystallization of her sight.
“Brother. Let her go. Let this go.”
...the beautiful blooms that drank from her blood expel the red, and shine with a brilliant glow, like the moon, like the light of the tower beyond the horizon.
...if only it was her own light-
(It was. But this memory-)
step 2) this is not your place. you should get out. get out. get out. get out. GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT-
Something pops. The young girl’s form suddenly grows small, peaceful. What was once flowers ages and snaps into wires and architecture, as if brick and otherworldly stone have become part of her body.
Uther wonders if she’ll remember. It was violent and heavy-handed enough even he snapped to awareness. But when his expression turns to Vortigern, the dragonfly simply turns up his nose.
“It was their fault for stepping in.” Vortigern snarls, and Uther cannot help but feel the faint pricks of a grin despite the situation. Was the young master appropriate to drag into this? No. But she had been pulled into enough, it almost blurred his response.
“Give her good dreams, after all that.” Uther stands firm, regardless. The rage wasn’t even aimed at her. It was more...
Ah, there it is. His single eye fixes upon a pink flower under his brother’s taloned foot. Even crushed so, it managed to make the black scales rot, a sulfuric smell with blood and pus that leak like tar. This is why he doesn’t get involved in this sort of thing. At least, not anymore.
Intentionally.
...sort of.
No matter how good intentioned it is, magic- magecraft, magic is different, lecturing voice chimes in- never ends well.
...especially when the users are, ah...
Vortigern continues to tear the flower apart, reducing it to a pink-white, mulchy smear upon the nebulous ‘floor’ of a dream.
There aren’t more, at least. That means Merlin’s gaze has... done something magicky. Probably.
Eugh. His brow wrinkles like he ate something bitter, though maybe it’s more the pollen in the air. This was, is, and will likely continue to be a mess.
“Can you not just ignore each other?” It’s a useless suggestion, of course. Vortigern stoops down to pick up the doll-sized Yua, limp. Uther watches, though with his weight leaning on his axe, he’s not concerned enough to be ready to swing.
Even with all of that...
There’s a swish of fabric. Vortigern winks despite his different face.
“The kindly capricious, fickle yet frisky, king of the fae is at your service! Now, we can-”
“Vortigern.” Uther frowns.
“What? Am I not allowed to play pretend, now?” Vortigern grumbles, but the master in his now hands (though they certainly still flex and articulate like claws, with more digits and joints than a human hand would have) is tucked into his cape, far too oversized.
“I’d prefer you didn’t play pretend with an innocent’s dreams.” Uther pauses, watching the master be set with her fragile head upon Vortigern’s now folded lap- before suddenly turning to her usual, larger size, nearly swaddled in the cape. Vortigern gives an impressively nasty glare, even for a brat of a brother.
“Unlike the flower magus you kiss up so much, I at least have a form that can care for others. If you won’t let me swap faces around, I might as well just riiiiip her heart out!~” Vortigern sneers. Uther sighs, cracking his neck from looking down at his seated brother.
Idly, he thinks they’re rather similar, in the way a cracked mirror reflects something you-yet-not-you. But that could get weird fast, too...
“You know, you don’t like that he... let her die.” He skirts the subject, avoids that heavy name. Vortigern frowns, like he can see where this is going, yet says nothing. “But you ate it for our sake. Even when you killed me... would you have, if I wasn’t already nearly dead?”
The abyssal dragonfly would easily refuse to answer. But the fae king of dreams looks away, as the forest’s leaves start to rustle in agitation. There. He’s close to the mark if the autumn forest is involved.
“If he’s forgiven, do you think you can be forgiven, in exchange, Vort?”
Unstated, of course, is the why. Why would someone who erred not want to be forgiven?
Uther can understand. He looks down at the young girl resting her head in Vortigern’s lap. The chatter of the fae grows around them. The wind howls.
“Is it easier for you, if you treat someone young and inexperienced cruelly, instead of trying to help? Because then there’s not the risk they will empathize with you, brother?”
STEP 3) GET OUT.
Vortigern and the autumn forest disappear, and they take Yua with them. For a moment, Uther stumbles-
-Vortigern took his axe. He chuckles at the pettiness, looking at what is there in exchange.
Blanca sits upon a rotten apple, seemingly unphased.
“Your king sure is an odd one, m’lady.” The moth simply twitches fluffy antennae back in response, prim and dignified.
Ah, not that he’s better.
"Maybe, you two are a bit rotten. But the core still has seeds. Something can grow again. So, that ‘goodness’, whatever you’d call it... it’s not gone yet.” Says the remnant bit of the idealistic prince in the half-dead king.
After all... at least one part of their messy, complicated past had forgiven them both.

How often do you disconnect? I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, and yesterday my friend @rmolla wrote great piece for @voxdotcom about how Gen Z is less accepting of being “always reachable” than Millennials. My previous jobs required damn near 24/7 reachability, and I’ve recently realized that even now, I’ve been putting that same type of always-on expectation on myself. There’s a lot of glorification of the constant hustle and non-stop grind, but that is not healthy or sustainable for anyone. I’m trying to do better about giving myself some regular time away from tech and the accompanying constant connectivity, whether that is putting my phone down with my morning coffee, or choosing a physical book over my usual Kindle app so I can’t just switch over to work emails in the middle of the night in the middle of a paragraph (something that happens far too often). What works best for you? Let me know in the comments!

I’m a better person when I’m moisturized 🧖🏼♀️ anyone else?!? 😜 in September, I added some new natural + cruelty free @whishbeauty products to my skincare routine juuuuust in time to start preparing for the cold windy weather in Chicago 🌬 here’s why these four products have earned a spot in my lineup: 1️⃣ day cream: keeps my skin hydrated and protected from UV rays + pollution all day long ☀️ 2️⃣ cleansing oil: this gets off EVERY. LAST. BIT. of mascara which I honestly thought was impossible… but it’s not, ladies! 🎉 3️⃣ night cream: works while I sleep to remove fine lines and prevent aging + keeps my skin moisturized to encourage healthy skin cell growth (aka prevents clogged pores) 💤 4️⃣ face oil: full of antioxidants and omegas to help restore that glow ✨ you can get 15% off using code “caitpatton15” and I’ll put links to the products in my stories 🤩 can’t wait for y’all to try them! {AD} #caitpattonbeauty #whishbeauty #whishy2019

«Я с самого начала оставляла все рекламные посты в своем аккаунте независимо от условий контракта. Если бы я удаляла такой контент, это бы означало, что я не горжусь своей работой и не хочу, чтобы меня ассоциировали с брендом. Если сегодня инфлуенсер хвастается любимым шампунем, а через месяц удаляет пост и публикует рекламу конкурента — аудитория его быстро раскусит».

KIDS ON THE MOON 18AW “Library”
The Library Between books. This is us: in love with books, the whispering of pages, the stories hidden between the covers. You can recognise us by our dreamy eyes. We live just next to you, but at the same time in a faraway land.
We live now, but also once upon a time, wearing seven-league boots or cloaks of invisibility.
Inspired by the feel of worn book covers, all new stories are sewn in our studio.
Welcome to the Library. Make yourself comfortable in the softness of our fabric. Wool, linen, knitwear, mellow velvet and soft British corduroy – will accompany children’s imagination and craving for stories. You can play hide and seek between pages, or embark a trip to a land beyond the seven seas. Desert horizons, mountain peaks and the depths of the seas await you in the soft colors of subdued turquoise and sandy rose.
A play on classic style and vintage inspirations are just the beginning. e following chapters will be written by the imagination, you just need to unleash it. Your wardrobe may look like it never has before
if you invite the poetry in and let Peter Pan, Pipi Longstocking and Ophelia inspire you. Dive into the story.

LITTLE CREATIVE FACTORY 18AW HORIZON
HORIZONS
'Between two worlds life hovers like a star, twixt night and morn, upon the horizon's verge.' Lord Byron
The children emerge from the dark of night, barefoot and empty handed, connected only with the natural world and just a lantern to guide them. Dawn brings with it the first rays of light and the children stride on towards new horizons and new dreams.
'The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.' Christopher McCandless
They lift their heads and stare ahead at the vague but distinguishable line where the sky meets the earth. They scan this unknown horizon full of promise and adventure, of stories yet to be told. They run and jump through this rocky, lunar, light-filled landscape. Their world is free of boundaries and full of possibilities. It is a place they can explore unhindered and where the natural elements guide them; the light and darkness, the wind and the sun their only masters. Every day is a voyage of discovery and a search for new horizons.
‘Horizons’’ unfolds under this bright winter sun where an iridescent, deep blue sky meets rusty red earth and charcoal rocky outcrops, where the mountains meet the clouds and the sky the sea.
The story of Little’s latest collection, 'Horizons'’ unfolds under this bright winter sun where an iridescent, deep blue sky meets rusty red earth and charcoal rocky outcrops, where the mountains meet the clouds and the sky the sea. It is the tale of children who run wild and barefoot across an empty, barren landscape that seemingly has no limits. Rooted to the land and to nature their imagination runs free. Their gaze is constantly drawn to the ever-changing, infinite horizon that is full of hope and possibility.
In this collection we have used vegetable dyes to reflect the vivid, bright colors of this starkly beautiful landscape. Rusty red, limestone-white, charcoal black and bright blue garments are complemented by striped, checked and printed pieces. Our classic linen and cotton fabrics accompany a new quilted range that provides fresh volumes and crisp outlines. Our soft cream and black snow coats, jackets and wonderful quilted capes keep our little people cozy and snug and free to brave the elements.
Once again we invite you to play with our garments, to mix and match and thus create your own personal look. This collection reflects a natural world full of light and hope and is, as always, a nod to our little people, to the journeys they are already making and the new horizons that still await them.
