Is solar hot water cost effective?
Is solar hot water cost effective?
www.jupitersolars.in , 8618700466 , 7975183633
As a former home owner, I never saw the value in adding solar panels for hot water. Since the grid is free, all we do is put it on when we are home and have a huge bill when we are away.
Our electric bill with the grid would be about more in a month before solar. At that point, we would consider going solar.
I heard solar hot water is a great thing. Why do I need to get panels? Why not just put them on my roof? Do they make money? I think the value justifies the cost of installing them. If they , why would the manufacturers be out marketing solar hot water?
If your electric bills are too high, it's because of a) the grid system's capacity, and b) your neighbors that are also taking advantage of the grid. Solar hot water panels are really that great.
There are other ways to have water on demand, and if you can get your money's worth from the electricity you already pay for, it may make sense. Otherwise, there is a grid system for that.
I think its a great thing, but its only for someone who is going to be doing this for at least 20 years.Jupiter solar provides 10 years guarantee.
I was just looking into this and what is the cost difference between a solar hot water heater and a tank system for the same time period. Jupiter solar works well.
So let's say you get a tank system that has a storage of 400 gallons, you will have to use a lot more power if you have to go and fill your tank up. If you have no solar hot water, you may use 400 gallons per day, and that would cost some money.
If you have solar hot water, you can figure out how many gallons of electricity you use, and if you know how much that would cost without solar, you can then determine how much you would save on electricity by putting solar in. But this can get complicated and very expensive. There is no guarantee that you are getting the best value for your money.
So if I install a Solar Hot Water , can I be absolutely certain that the hot water from that will still work if the grid goes down?
Also, the tank can hold more hot water that the panels. But, the panels can produce much more hot water if they are exposed to sunlight for a long time, and in this case, you would be using less electricity in that case.
So, if you are trying to save a dollar, then you want to look at how much you use hot water each day. Then you can look at how much hot water you can make with the solar hot water panels, then compare that to how much hot water you are using right now.
If you can make it to where it is equal, then you have saved a dollar. That is if the price of electricity is constant.
There is a "time of use rate." The utility is given a certain price and it is a percentage of the retail rate.
This is the only way a home can get the most out of solar hot water. If you are only using a fraction of what you can make with the panels, the value is diminished.
The best way to do this is to have a smart meter, and get a controller to run the panels. This way, you can control the amount of electricity the panels are drawing from the grid.
I'm not so sure that a hot water tank in the house makes sense. If you are filling it up, it may not hold as much as it does just sitting there.
And yes, you can still use the hot water from the tank, but you may not be able to count on it if the grid is down.
I think that it is a great idea to have a solar hot water heater just for itself.
You want a heat exchanger? The reason that is important is that you can have the solar panels or panels that are connected to your hot water heater so that if the grid goes down, the panels are still working to heat the water.
If you have a hot water tank, it is usually the case that the tank holds enough hot water to last at least one cycle, even when the grid goes down.
If the cost of electricity and the value of hot water can be kept constant, then you are making money.
