Which parent do they look the most like?

As both Juni the person and Lazuli the goddess, she never had any parents so she just decided to be as hot as possible in both places.

Is there a name they were almost given (either by their parents or during character creation)?

Most of the children on Dryas are given naturey names, usually a couple decades into their birth so the Templars know what kind of personality they babies have. So feisty and spry baby Juni was a Juniper.

What were they like as a kid (if they’re currently a child, what would they be like as a teen)?

She was a little more quiet as a kid, mostly because she was also subject to the orphanage system and not in the militia so she didn’t have any clout yet, but she was still very animated and fun loving. She loved getting in trouble with Icio, making fun of the Templars (because even as a mortal, the Cain instinct is still strong and she has to dunk on her godly brother), but she was also very devoted to Lazuli and Pan and wanted to earn her spot someday in the militia. The only rule she hated to follow was leaving Icio behind.

Even if, as Icio said, they’d rather be celibate than be with her.

What’s their drinking tolerance and what kind of drunk are they?

Dryads are pretty hardy because their bodies can process and neutralize a lot of what they consume (being trees and all), but that’s also why Dryad alcohol is incredibly strong and will fuck you up more than any other alcohol. Juni’s a three drink type person after which she becomes way more unhinged and ready to either fight or fuck depending on what the situation calls for. If she’s lucky, both.

Where do they like to be touched?

Everywhere. She does love people touching places where her muscles are, but she does love when Icio touches the triddies and trussy. Just please touch your Captain.

What’s their favorite position (top/bottom/switch/pillow princess/etc.)

She’s usually a pretty dominant top, which has helped as a Captain, but she’s been the top person all her life, sometimes a bitch just wants someone else to tell her what to do while they both know that if she decided otherwise, she could tear them apart.

Given the- ahem- size difference between Icio and Juni, she’s quite into that, especially when she gets to top from the bottom and fluster her fish, but also she’s Juniper Fucking Erudike-Kain. Any kink under the sun, she and Icio have done it. Fucking on the Celestial Plane in front of the other gods? She’s done it. Fucking in front of her own statue? She’s probably done it (but only she can do it because it’s her and a power move). Really anything where she and Icio can flex on each other and the rest of the galaxy, she’s into it.

This bitch invented adrenaline. Fighting, running, pulling pranks, Juni loves anything that makes her heart race. She wants to feel the thrill of the battle in everything she does except cuddling her children and kissing her fish.

Out of most of the Freedom Vessel crew, Juni is probably the most self aware of everyone, so she is upfront about fighting her issues even if she doesn’t necessarily want to. She is willing to put in the work if it means helping other people.

As a militia, Juni spent most of her life in combat, both giving hits and taking them. She’s racked up a pretty big pain tolerance despite her small size

Definitely the Ruler. She grew up leading the Militia and then learned that a lot of her talent came from being divine. And she didn’t know how to deal with it. But now she is finally getting comfortable with both sides of herself.

The Chosen One. A goddess who made herself mortal in order to right the wrongs of her planet. Made even more apparent by the fact that for hundreds of years, Juni didn’t know that she was Lazuli. And much of her arc after was learning how to deal with that Chosen One status.

‘My mom's also a lawyer, she was a different kind of lawyer with us when we were kids. My mom was more like Nancy Grace. She would just make wild accusations all day long and wait for something to stick.’

With the exception of love interests and immediate family, who are they closest to?

Juni grew up alongside Delta as best friends during militia training, and then when Juni became Captain of the Guard, she chose Delta to be her Second in Command. She and Icio had something special that went beyond best friendship, but Delta was always the one Juni knew she could go to to talk about anything (which roughly 30% of the time, was lamenting about Icio). No one can ever replace Delta.

What is their moral alignment? What would have to happen for it to shift?

As much as she’s a chaotic person, Neutral Good. She likes order in what she does and she runs a tight ship with the militia and does her best to make sure that she is serving her people. She is a natural born leader, and she loves wild sex. They exist.

Are they a morning person? What are they like before 8am?

As a Captain, Juni had to get up earlier than any of the other militia to start on plans for the days and to set up drills. She likes the early morning more than the night because she feels like she has more time, and she’s pretty peppy in the morning. Which is good when she now has to take care of Ariel.

What are they like when they’re tired?

Juni works a lot, so she often goes too late and has to get dragged to bed. She’s pretty single minded focused when tired and doesn’t let anything distract her (which is good for when she’s working but bad if she has dual responsibilities), and usually she has to be physically dragged away to take a break.

What are they like in arguments?

Juni is an honorable fighter when it comes to physical fighting, but she fights dirty in verbal altercations (including using Zone of Truth). She is vicious and will tear you down by calling you out on all your flaws.

Out of 10, how happy are they? How happy do they think they are?

For most of Juni’s life, she had it great. Sure, she had her issue with Icio that caused her frustration, but she was popular, strong, and was away from the war. But then a Genesian general burned down her home, she watched Icio become even more traumatized, she learned that she was actually a goddess, and now her friends were treating her differently. And that was only the beginning of her adventure, one that ended with her closest friend dying. She’s getting better now at about an 8/10 but she does still have some things to work through.

Florist AU and Awful First Meeting for fish tree

Icio Kain’s life is what you’d call a series of unfortunate events. Growing up as a single father to three kids, they’ve had to make tough decisions to take care of their children. Within the last month or so, several things happened that turned Icio’s life from a shit show, to the shit on fire with Icio swimming in the shit show. Their eldest son, Heron, was killed by a hit and run and with the trauma, their younger daughters Kalliste and Allura began causing trouble at school and were expelled. Wanting to clear all their pasts, Icio packed up their family and left the city.

Wanting to be a supportive father on Kalliste and Allura’s first day of school, Icio decides to buy them a bouquet of flowers at the nearest flower shop, Lazuli Floral, ran by a small but imposing woman, Juniper Erudike. When they enter the shop and see Juni for the first time, they are flustered and awkward over both how beautiful she is and overall the insane amount of choices of flowers. Trying to make themself seem cooler than they are, they try to act that they know all about flowers but just want the opinion of someone who maybe knows a little more than they do and in the process of walking around the store and falsely explaining flowers, they knock over a vase, which knocks over another vase, until four broken vases are crashed on the floor with ripped flowers and Juniper looks both like she’s about to cry and that she’s about to get arrested for murder.

Allura and Kalliste never stop making fun of them and tell Icio to apologize and buy another bouquet that’s not ripped and ask the owner out on a date.

Icio, definitely, but also Flor eventually. The three of them and Venus just have spa nights where they bitch about everyone else.

Her twitter would just be chock full of the militia shading the templars “Your god fucks cacti for fun and you wear turtlenecks but go off I guess” and a couple tweets about how stupid and lovely her crush is (before Icio grew a spine and got together with her). Once Juni and Flor meet and become close in Bengalia, she would invite Flor to be her maid of honor. The only stipulation is that Flor can’t be better dressed than her.

Juni is her nickname, but Bark for Brains is her nickname that is only to be used by Icio. It started after she started calling them ‘Fish Stick’. If anyone else calls her Bark for Brains, they are probably going to die.

Yes. There’s some choice things she’s done that she doesn’t agree with, but overall she knows that she’s a good person.

Lizard person: Well liked, popular, and enjoys drama.

She completely blames herself for putting Heron in the necklace. If they just let him die and return to the stars like he should have, Icio wouldn’t be so guilt ridden about the stone.

She’s been training since she was young, even before she joined the militia. By technicality, as Lazuli she had expert combat and world shaping training since the dawn of creation.

She had been Captain of the Guard for about a hundred years before she unofficially stepped down when she joined the Freedom Vessel. But she’s been involved in the militia since she was a child and now she has a full time job as a mother.

Juni is a bit of a hypocrite when it comes to talking about her own feelings, so it’s taken a lot of getting over her pride and talk about what’s bothering her. It’s easy when you can Zone of Truth others, but she cannot Zone of Truth herself.

It’s been shown that Juniper is very very bad at reigning in her emotions, particularly on the Lazuli side. Three times when she had something bad happen to her (her planet catching on fire, Icio dying, and Spanathos blowing up), she loses control of herself and will cause destruction.

Even without Lazuli’s influence, Juni is an excellent fighter and could take almost anyone in a fight. She is small and ready to brawl.

Dryads tend to have fairly empty rooms since they don’t have many earthly possessions, though Juni and Icio’s room on the ship has some plants from the arboretum and pictures of the snids.

When on Dryas, she wore the uniform of the militia which was chest armor and kinda like a skirt armor (think Wonder Woman or Sparta), but when lounging about she usually wears either just a sports bra and skirt or tank top and skirt.

She’ll do ceremonial makeup, but she won’t really wear it in other circumstances and only does her nails with Icio and the girls. She has that natural goddess beauty, though.

Growing up, everyone was too scared of Juni to bully her. She quickly climbed the ranks of the militia.

She gently bullied the Templars through Icio, and now likes razzing the ship whenever they do hanky panky stuff.

No one really bullied each other on Dryas unless it was playfully teasing.

The only one I can really see here is Juni and Delta just because Delta is still struggling with how to view Juni, whether as her best friend and fuck buddy, or her goddess who all the militia see as sort of a mom figure. Because in the timeline of a Dryad, two years isn’t very long at all. Also Juni left Dryas and left Delta with the fallout of the structure of the militia now that the Captain of the Guard is gone.

She’s a big fan for Fern Gully even if it makes her angry to see people deforest, but she also really likes Pocahontas for how the Natives treat the Earth. The white people can choke, though.

She likes eating traditional Dryan breakfasts that involve a lot of vegetables and legumes. It reminds her of home.

Little spoon for days. She’ll just wiggle herself into you and stay there forever while you spoon and hug her. Other times she’ll just wrap herself around you like a koala and not let go for any reason.

She’s a fan of physical touch, so she shows her love through lightly touching people, caressing them, and taking care of them when they’re injured or need help. It’s why she was such a good captain of the guard. Everyone knew they were special to her because she took the time to comfort them.

Juni usually goes barefoot when she walks around, but when she’s forced to blend in or wear shoes, she opts for gladiator style sandals.

Fashionable comfort. She always dresses in a way that she can fight and move if she needs to, but it’s definitely bohemian fashion that still makes her one of the best dressed people on the ship.

Yes. Since dryads are more community based more than nuclear family based, marriage isn’t a tradition but as she watches the people around her grow old, she realizes that she wants her family to see her and Icio marry before they die, so she builds her own rings and proposes. Icio isn’t ready.

Zone of Truthing her boyfriend to reveal their feelings when she doesn’t want to touch her own feelings with a ten foot pole, having sex with Icio at really the worst times, and getting way too into the idea of people fighting each other. May the Baby War of Month 9 never be forgotten.

Dryads have a really painful illness that causes their skin to splinter and begins to rot their insides, and Juni got that once when she was still training to be in the militia. When Juni’s sick, she’s too weak to even fight it off, so she’ll be mostly limp the whole time and won’t speak but will just look at you with big sad, teary eyes. She hasn’t gotten the disease since then, but whenever she gets sick, Ravi has his hands full because he’ll have to call someone over to help him just make sure that Juni gets the medicine she needs because she straight up won’t move and just lie there.

She keeps her deep thoughts to herself, but if she thinks that there’s no chance of harm to her if she says something, she’ll say it. It’s usually surface level stuff that she has no problem saying.
