RC Cola Commercial 2020 "Ampon ba ako?"
RC Cola is a well-known soft drink brand around the world, and it is well-known in the Philippines for its refreshing taste and low price. RC Cola has debuted a new ad aimed at capturing the attention of its target demographic and highlighting the brand's distinct taste and appeal.
In the RC Cola commercial, a little child wonders if he is adopted since he feels out of place in his home. He quickly realizes, however, that he is the son of a superhero who battles injustice and oppression. The advertisement urges viewers to embrace their individuality and potential, as well as to disrupt the status quo in their own lives. This advertising is primarily aimed at young Filipinos seeking empowerment and motivation. The ad's theme of embracing one's unique talents and questioning the status quo is especially important in a culture that emphasizes uniformity.
RC Cola, like any other soft drink, should be used in moderation as part of a healthy diet. While the advertisement does not expressly tout RC Cola's health advantages, it does portray the company as an empowering and relevant option for customers. The RC Cola commercial does not appear to contain any overt types of media manipulation. The theme of empowerment and individualism in the advertisement is obvious and accessible, and no dishonest or manipulative approaches are used to affect the viewer's opinion.
In the end, with its powerful message and relatable tale, the RC Cola ad in the Philippines was effective in attracting the attention of Filipino people. RC Cola has distinguished itself from its competitors and developed a strong connection with its target audience by portraying itself as a brand that welcomes individualism and challenges the status quo.

Julie's BakeShop - Stop Tita Shaming
In a daring move, a prominent local bakery has produced an advertisement calling for a stop to "Tita shaming." The poster, which depicts a middle-aged lady in a pink tracksuit clutching a box of the bakery's goodies, has prompted debate over ageism and gender stereotypes.
The advertising seeks to dispel the stigma of middle-aged women as "Titas" (a phrase loosely translated as "Auntie" in Filipino culture) who are out of touch with new trends and technology. The campaign for the bakery invites viewers to embrace their inner "Tita" and not be ashamed of their age or interests. The target audience for this campaign is predominantly middle-aged women who may have encountered ageism or gender stereotypes in their life. Rather than disparage or blame these women, the bakeshop's campaign wants to encourage and honor them. Consuming items from the bakeshop should be done with caution, as with any baked good. However, the advertising does not expressly promote any of the items' health advantages or nutritional facts.
The advertisement for the bakery does not appear to be manipulated in any way. While the advertising may appear unusual or unconventional, it does not employ any misleading or manipulative techniques to impact the viewer's impression. The commercial simply urges viewers to embrace their identity rather than being embarrassed of it. Thus, the bakeshop's campaign calling for an end to "Tita shaming" has prompted crucial dialogues in Filipino society regarding ageism and gender stereotypes. The bakeshop has distinguished itself from its competitors and built a strong connection with its target audience by overcoming these prejudices and empowering middle-aged women.

lostdrarryfics monthly roundup! July 2024
Below you will find the requests we could not locate in the month of July. Please let us know if you recognize any!
You can also browse our lengthy lost fic masterlist, where we have compiled every request we have been unable to find over the past few years. We're always hoping someone will recognize a fic so we can let the asker know what it was!
1. It was on ao3, 8th year, after the war, very often the writing shifted between draco and harry's POV. Draco and theo were dating (but they breakup in the end so drarry gets together), it's also a bottom draco fic but I can't remember any specific sex scenes. Theo peer pressures draco to do pills-like drugs and latter ron mentions to harry that he saw theo and draco staring at ron weird and laughing in the hallways at night. Their relationship is toxic but I don't remember much about it, draco and harry slowly starts to become friends, it's more or less at the same rhythm as Theo and draco relationship crumbles. I remember there was a point were theo has sex with some other guy to get more drugs and draco gets upset because he was cheating but then theo says that the other guy raped him and draco is not supposed to tell anyone because he could get in trouble and harry is secretly listening to the most part of the discussion and in his head he starts to question why would nott get in trouble if he was the victim but ultimately doesn't do/say anything about it. Theo gets addicted to those drugs but I can't remember if draco get as well or not. I can't recall if someone harasses draco for being a ex death eater but the students definitely look at him, and other slytherins, differently and most of them get excluded from the rest of the school despite the majority being innocent or too young to have done anything
2. harry and draco I think were already together. But Hermione liked draco and tried to steal him from harry and either used a love potion or gave him a cookie which made him fall in love with her. Some maybe key points I remember are: Harry was thinking and out of space not listening to ron and hermione fighting, when they finally got his attention ron told him about how Hermione thought it was ok for her to flirt with draco even in front of harry. Then at some point draco came up to the three and as he left hermione kisses him on the cheek in front of harry. I read the story on Wattpad in like 2020/2021 and Im pretty sure it had chapters.
3. harry has an owl service or some delivery food service like ubereats, postmates, deliveroo and once he learned who the order was for, Harry was going to give Draco Malfoy a piece of his mind for such a request for late delivery. “ugh pure bloods and their wealth”. then unexpectedly the wards let Harry in, and then he was face to face with Draco. now I will be honest, the role of Harry and Draco could be reversed, but I don’t think so? It may feature a young Scorpius Malfoy or Teddy Lupin. rating: explicit / mature? last remember reading it on ao3. One shot, completed. Maybe apart of Harry/Draco Owlpost Fest? tags: post-war, not canon compliant?, owl, owlpost, delivery, malfoy manor, grimmauld place, order, baked goods, food service. harry and draco are like in their 20s-30s. one chapter: about 10K words
4. i’m pretty sure in this fic harry is this well known baker/pastry chef in the wizarding world, and him and draco become friends and soon start dating. draco falls in love with harry’s sweet desserts which harry claims has a “special ingredient” which he won’t tell draco until the end. that’s when they meet in harry’s pantry/bakeshop and draco soon learns harry methods to creating such desserts, especially when harry uses his magic literally and metaphorically to create a huge order for a Ministry event which make draco falls deeper for him and his special filling especially when they go to the eat and eat his home made desserts. rating: explicit / nc-17. last I remember reading it on ao3. May be apart of a Drarry fest including: H/D Erised or Food Fair or Owlpost. From 2020-present maybe? tags: post war, not canon compliant, bakery, baker, pastry chef harry, coffee shop, coffee, post hogwarts/ harry potter epilogue what epilogue, frosting, icing, innuendos, pwp, cake, batter word count, filling, cream, crème, food, euphemisms. harry and draco are like in their 20s-30s. one chapter: 10K-20K words
5. fic I read a couple months ago. I found that fic at AO3, it's a multiple chapter (I don't remember the exact number of chapters). Main couple is Drarry. The fic is not magical au, I think Harry is a university student(?) and such an extrovert slight flirty person, but he only has Hermione as his friend. Btw, in that fic, Hermione is having an affair with Remus (their professor). Harry is crushing over Draco (Draco's not a university student), he's often goes to the campus to pick up Astoria, his girlfriend at that time. One day, Astoria invite Harry to her house in order to spice up her bed activity with Draco. At first, Draco is so shocked and offended(?) with Harry's presence (Draco has a idk what to call it, i guess internalized homophobic(??) caused by his father action). But then, slowly, Draco become more intrigued to Harry. Harry also realized that Draco is not the same as what Draco show in the outside, Harry knows that Draco hide his dom side(?) to look so calm, collected, chill, and so on). I think it's save to say that there are some infidelity at that fic but at the end Draco ends his relationship with Astoria first before officially start a new one with Harry. Oh, and Astoria is kind of regret her choice introducing Harry to Draco because she kind of sad to lose Draco, but no hard feeling tho.
6. the first few chapters are poems. Draco was fleeing to the muggle world or something and Harry captured him. Harry is also an Alpha and he mated with Draco forcefully, I think in this world if one of them dies then the one mated with you can be dead too. Thank you so much, it’s on AO3 but I can’t find it.
7. looking for a fic where Draco works as a mailman or something and he plays chess with one of the elderly lady in a wizarding nursing home. The lady also gives him tips but it embarrasses him but he accepts out of necessity. Harry is an auror and a newly turned werewolf and he cannot control himself around Draco like I remember that he keeps sniffing him while they were near an elevator. I've reread this fic but I can't seem to remember the title!
8. looking for a fic i only read the synopsis for (i swear i saved it but i cant find it now) basically draco writes a letter to harry saying "I'm going to kill you" but harry misreads it as "im going to kiss you"
9. fic on ao3, it was about Draco being like a sex slave for the deatheaters, and he was held up in chains and perceiving a lot less of his surroundings due to him trying to not feel anything. The plot of the war was different, and Harry and Ron were using polyjuice to get inside the manor, then they found Draco and were surprised, but Ron did like a gesture that he would also r4pe Draco (like unzipping his pants or something) and Harry stopped him, I think Harry said to Draco that he was gonna try to set him free when they could and Draco stayed there while watching them go. I'm not sure about that last part, and I do not remember much more or maybe even he wasn't free at all at the end
10. what I remember is that Draco was held in a room at Order headquarters, I remember several members tried to visit him for questioning, including Harry. But Draco didn't reveal anything at all. Then there is a scene where Harry comes in and tells him that Lucius Malfoy is dead, Harry shows the ring as proof that he is not mistaken
11. I could be mixing up two fics. I'm pretty sure it was on AO3. It was a 4th year AU, where I believe Harry and Draco were already dating when the Tournament happened. One scene that I remember clearly is that when Harry has to do that wand thing for the tournament, his wand just doesn't want to be used by Ollivander, so it hits Ollivander in the head. Also I think that Harry and the other champions get along pretty well and ARE working together. So much so that I think that they all agree that they just don't really wanna be a part of the tournament and then they train together and everything. And if I'm not mistaken, for the second task they all decide to use a boat? To get to the Merfolk village and then just dive and get their hostage. And for the third task they were just planning on get inside the maze and do a picnic?

words that are supposed to be on that damn bird app but i have issues
but tbh, maybe i wouldn't really refuse to the fact that i do have to settle down and build a family in the future... maybe this is just me trying to break away from my mother's and society's expectation. maybe it's just the ever pure hearted me who doesn't want anyone to suffer.
it will definitely depend on who i'm going down with and if i'm finally stable tho...
but i'm such a prickly bitch who hates men. i wouldn't even want to marry me either. say, who would even want to marry a woman too ambitious, too faithful to her views and morals? yes, i'm a people pleaser. i always try to not be a bother. i'm a pushover. but i always hold my beliefs above everything else. it's always easy for me to cut ties if you step on my morals. say again, how many men are out there that could stomach me? that would accept me?
growing up, i have always been envious of my friends having lots of suitors while i only have close to none who takes me seriously. i'm always the intimidating one. unapproachable. the high standards. mean. too smart. too serious. i'm always too much to handle. sometimes i just concluded that maybe i'm unappealing and ugly. too plain. boring. straight-laced. but everyone says i'm pretty, just scary.
that should make me feel special and superior but as i type this and think along those years, i really can't help but feel sad and lonely.
i'm a human. i yearn connection too. deep, real, and tangible one. i yearn to be touched. to be caressed. to be kissed. to be fucked. to be loved. to be understood even i couldn't even understand myself.
and i can't do that alone. i'm so so lonely.
and it doesn't help with the fact that i am only willing to change my rules to one person. one person i lay myself bare. someone i do really trust the most. the one i could absolutely wait because i have already spent ⅓ of my life waiting so what's more years?
and it's so stupid. so stupid that if he asks me to marry, i would abandon everything i said here and say yes. it's so stupid that my friends are already tired of the same drunk crying of why oh why he doesn't like me and why oh why i'm such a stupid coward who's right there where you left me.
because let's be honest, i'm still in julie's buying bread even though in reality, the bakeshop isn't there anymore. i'm still at shake shop near the playground every afternoon even though they already relocated. i'm still seeing you in the blue backpacks. still looking for you in the middle of the crowd. in the high schoolers across the street. in the same haircut of every men i met. trying to catch a glimpse of you in every jeep that heads to your town. in every ship that docks. i'm actually still in front of palawan express. in the stairs where our eyes will try everything to not meet. at my seat near the window and it's already 8AM when you arrived. and i'm back again in my grade 7 classroom and it's early in the morning and i have no idea NO FUCKING IDEA that you would leave me haunted like this.
this is basically a confession and you're probably dumb if you cannot string who's who. and i kinda wish that you would read this. i hope that you won't and it'll be whole lot easier for me to just leave this in the drafts or never compose at all but i'm already tired.
and let me ask this again just like what i did the first time: is it killing you like it's killing me?
#this is a thread that's supposed to be posted on my twitter but he's there#and i kinda chickened out because it's too obv#guess what my race is#hahaha i'm asian it's obvious#😭#this thought passage actually started when me and my best friend are talking about med school#and i like him#i said that i might go to med school to just to avoid the immediate expectation of settling down#but i told him that my mom would definitely still be disappointed in me even i'm M.D. but isn't married and having kids#it's so sick#when will parents realize that a woman isn't only limited with child-bearing and domestic life??#i want to be a scientist#i'm currently taking up biology#haha

The weirdest advertisement that took social media by storm last 2020
youtube
The weirdest advertisement that took social media by storm last 2020—RC Cola’s Nyahahakbkxjbcjhishdishlsab@!!!! Basta RC Cola! This commercial was released last November 26, 2020 by RC Cola, a soft drinks manufacturing brand. Through its bizarre theme, the advertisement penetrated Philippine pop culture, gaining many reactions from netizens. The story is about a son who has just returned home from school after being bullied and confronts his mother about whether he was adopted. Similar to typical dramatic Filipino teleseryes or television soap operas, the exchange of dialogue becomes emotional. That is, until the son lifted his shirt, showing off the four glasses that were affixed to his back. “Matagal na naming itinago ito sa’yo anak (we hid this from you for a long time, son),” classic emotional line; however, instead of crying, you will be surprised as the mother then shows off what seems to be her severed body with an RC Cola bottle protruding from the neck. She then continues by pouring the RC Cola into the glasses randomly.
In an interview by Contagious with Jake Yrastorza, Managing Partner of Gigil—the ad's creator, he stated that the ad aimed to differentiate RC Cola from other brands in the minds of younger generations, specifically Gen Z's. Since Gen Z's tend to 'live in the moment,' they do not need reasons to act on something. With this, the creators of this commercial adopted that mentality and made the brand embody it, making RC Cola a reflection of their consumers (Contagious, 2021). The audience may not benefit from the product being advertised to them since excessive drinking of soft drinks can be harmful, particularly to older people, and may increase one's risk of having Type 2 diabetes (WebMD Editorial Contributors, 2020). However, analyzing the actual message the advertisement wanted to convey, we can notice parallels to our everyday life, including self-doubt, unwavering acceptance, love, truth, family, and spending time with the ones we cherish.
RC Cola's advertisement emphasizes a good marketing strategy rather than a way to manipulate the media. The manufacturing brand is aware that their market is continuously evolving; therefore, they have to keep up and think of a way to convey its message creatively and effectively, and they did not disappoint! With its absurd title and theme, the company was able to take the internet by storm and receive a mix of emotions from netizens on different social media platforms. This can be observed in the ad's performance six hours after its launch, earning approximately 1.6 million views, and within 24 hours, it had 130,000 shares and 203 reactions, becoming a top-trending topic on Twitter. Today, it has more than 10 million views (Diaz, 2020). Since this kind of commercial has blown up, several local brands have been incorporating weird themes. An example is a commercial from Julie's Bakeshop entitled "Harina is Shaking sa Newest Film for Julie's 40th Year Anniversary!" which featured a dough of bread having eyes and being able to speak.

Interview with Darci Hannah
Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant
Beacon Bakeshop Book 4
Kensington Pub
July 25th, 2023
Murder at the Pumpkin Pageant by Darci Hannah is a good book for the Halloween season since many are already decorating their houses. This Halloween atmosphere has ghosts, goblins, pranksters, costumes, pirates, clowns, and dogs in costume along with professional ghost hunters.
The plot has the main character, Lindsey, renovating an old lighthouse, for her home and bakery. In the story the Halloween festivities include Lindsey having in her bakery a lot of pumpkin-flavored treats. Lindsey has also reluctantly agreed to let her best friend, Kennedy, do her live podcast from the lighthouse with professional ghost hunters. But things go sideways after they all stumble upon a fresh corpse in Lindsey's yard. First, they thought it was teens doing a prank, a clown as a dummy, but it’s a corpse. With the help of her friends and her resident ghost they strive to find the murderer.
The mystery has many tricks and treats that include twists and turns. The action leaps from the pages. One of the treats the author gives her readers is the delicious seasonal recipes included at the back of the book.
Elise Cooper: How did you get the idea for the series?
Darci Hannah: This is the fourth book I have written in the series. I have the setting in Michigan. I love to bake, and my youngest brother bought a bakery, so I incorporated a bakery and lighthouse into the series. I wanted to be a paranormal writer, so I slip some of this into my writing. When I started this series, I thought of a haunted lighthouse tale within a cozy mystery. I always visit a lot of lighthouses. I came to realize a lot of lighthouses have a history and a story about lingering lightkeepers. In this series the lighthouse has a history and a ghost story. Lindsey, the protagonist lives in the haunted lighthouse and has developed a working relationship with this lighthouse ghost.
EC: Was any of this real?
DH: A lot of the techniques of the ghosts I use are from real lighthouses here in Michigan. People see eerie green lights which I incorporated in this story. There are a lot of shipwrecks here. Because I did dive on shipwrecks, I included it in the story.
EC: What is the role of Halloween?
DH: It was great fun to write a Halloween theme. The idea came from my publisher. There are pirates, the Wizard of Oz comes into it with the costume of a straw headed person. The “Pumpkin Pageant” had people dressed in costume along with their pets. Everyone in the bakery owned by the protagonist dressed in a theme costume. There is also a pumpkin carving contest.
EC: Was Wellington, Lindsey’s dog based on a real dog?
DH: Yes, I love dogs so there are a lot of dogs in my story. Wellington is Lindsey’s dog. He is a Newfoundland because I had a dog of that breed. He is the perfect dog for a lighthouse because they are big water dogs. He has freedom and space now. He also loves to fish.
EC: How would you describe Lindsey?
DH: She has a financial background. She is practical, wants to make people happy, is pretty, and caring. She is from New York City and has moved to a Michigan small town. She has her mother’s looks and her father’s brain. She is not a social media person, more private.
EC: How would you describe her boyfriend, Rory?
DH: He is an ex-Navy SEAL who is a conglomerate of some of my friends. He is a woodsy outdoorsman. The whole state shuts down in November during deer season. I wanted to put this cultural piece of Michigan into Rory’s character. He is very protective, kind, funny, intense, and a good diver. Together they are an item and are attracted to each other. She sees him as intriguing. They respect each other a lot.
EC: The next book?
DH: The next book in the series continues the holiday theme. It is titled Murder at the Blarney Bash, a St. Patrick’s Day book, but coming out in January. The plot has a new Irish import store being opened by Rory’s uncle and cousin. There will be a Leprechaun in the story.
THANK YOU!!

ADVERTISEMENT #1: M&M's - Meet the Parents (2022, USA)
youtube
M&M's are undoubtedly one of the most popular sweets in the world, and their advertisement is no exception. The ad features a daughter introducing her boyfriend, Jake, to her family and relatives. In the ad, the yellow M&M asks Jake about the flower design on his shoes, to which he responds by revealing that he is a botanist. This is followed by the brown M&M mentioning that the resting dad's face at the back is also a plant guy, creating a connection between the two. Jake is then asked to prune plants and rewarded with M&M's.
The target audience of the advertisement is the general public. It was posted on YouTube on June 4, 2022, during the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic. The question of whether eating sweets is healthy for the targeted audience arises. The answer is not necessarily because eating too many sweets can lead to diabetes, which can be fatal if not treated. However, eating sweets in moderation can benefit brain function and provide a fuel source, sometimes referred to as a 'sugar rush.' (Wein, 2017)
There is no evidence of media manipulation in this advertisement. The only technique used was baiting. The daughter introduced her boyfriend, and the family looked him in the face because of his flower tattoos. However, the yellow M&M suddenly pointed at his feet, revealing the flower design on his shoes, and explained why. This technique is used to bait the audience and connect Jake and the M&M's, making the advertisement more engaging and memorable.
In conclusion, M&M's advertisement featuring a daughter introducing her botanist boyfriend to her family and relatives is a clever and engaging ad that appeals to the general public. While eating sweets in moderation can be beneficial, it is essential to remember the health risks associated with overconsumption. Overall, there is no evidence of media manipulation in the ad, and the bait effectively engages the audience.

ADVERTISEMENT #2: Harina is Shaking sa Newest Film for Julie’s 40th Year Anniversary!
youtube
Julie's Bakeshop has been producing delicious and affordable bread for almost four decades, catering to the Filipino market. However, their recent video advertisement may have stirred up some controversy. The video features a man shaming a group of elderly women, commonly known as 'Titas,' for working out, despite not being in great shape himself. Julie, the brand's representative, intervenes and transforms the man into a pandesal, which the older adults consume while he continues insulting them.
The intended audience for the video is the general public, with a specific target audience of those who engage in body shaming or 'Tita shamers.' The video was released on April 5, 2021, during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Pandesal, the product advertised, is suitable for the target audience as it is considered a healthy option. It has low sodium, making it an ideal choice for individuals with kidney disease. It is also beneficial for anemic patients and pregnant women as it is low in iron, which is necessary for developing hemoglobin to carry oxygen in the blood.
However, the video uses a form of media manipulation by depicting the man turning into a pandesal, which is not the case in reality. Additionally, it portrays the brand's ingredients and product-making process, which needs to be more accurate. It is important to note that Julie's Bakeshop does not use human ingredients or harm any human in producing their products. The hashtag #StopTitaShaming is used to bring attention to body shaming and its negative effects on individuals.
In conclusion, while Julie's Bakeshop has been producing affordable and delicious bread for almost four decades, their advertisement may have stirred up controversy due to its depiction of body shaming and misinformation in the ingredients of their product. Pandesal, the product advertised, is considered a healthy option, making it suitable for the target audience. However, it is crucial to remain critical of media messages and understand the limitations of advertising.

THE METAPHORS OF GAMING AND LIFE DURING THE PANDEMIC
...I am my own character in this world where skills are not limited to four types unlike the agents from the game Valorant, the heroes from Mobile Legends, or the champions from Apex Legends, but instead, I adapt skills and it evolves as if I am a Pokemon type owned by a trainer. It is exciting and somehow amusing as I get to know how these things control where I teleport in life, or in which alley I should go; which lane I should defend. However, the fact that this idea requires change every time; the constant change in life, sometimes hangs us up in exhaustion— glitching may be the term in terms of gaming which we do not like. The pandemic hit as if a bug from our games messes our experience to champion every turn and round, and this forces us to keep on finding ways to fix the unwanted circumstances by waiting to automatically restart our game, refreshing our main desktop by aggressively pressing the F5 on our keyboards, or by forcefully close other running applications alongside our current window. Basically, life during the pandemic was buggy and laggy, like the internet connectivity in our country. But upon these circumstances, there are features which make both our games and life during this unprecedented time become less of a grief, a relief despite the events—communication. It helps ease the circumstances in both worlds.
In today's popular games, especially the multiplayer ones, gaming requires not just skills but also communication for teamwork’s strategies in order to win a round or get into the objective. If not, a team might be hindered to success, and worse, they might lose. Relatively, friends and family have shifted into communication online for over two years now, and it is a drastic change to everyone as some tend to neglect the sense of belongingness as we enter into this situation, and I, myself, is one of them. Shockingly, I get to interact with newer people with gaming despite this. Strangers, it may seem, but with the game’s features—chat box and voice chats, it is one of the most effective ways to survive on our own game at this point in time. Looking into friendship, it can grow; it might also outgrow. The essence of going with the flow, the tactics in games to achieve a goal where communication in teamwork requires, the importance of companion and communication today, the waiting era for friends to sign in and be available online, and the reality where we want to feel the sense of belongingness are relatively significant.
Community before the pandemic were typically the group of people you share the same interests with through physical interactions, face-to-face discourses, or the belongingness we felt which develops our social self; the identity that we define for ourselves. In the pre-pandemic life as a student, I was the typical person who happens to be a semi social butterfly, as if everyone I see who shares the same uniform as mine, or just by someone I walk past by inside the cafeteria, a classmate in one of my courses happens to say hi while they order in Julie’s Bakeshop, the unfriendly vibe of the cashier in Mang George’s all-time-favorite chicken, or within the walls of Intramuros, can be a friend or feel like secured due to a sense of belongingness. Even just by gestures and non-verbal cues, the community felt real, and it felt even more real when interaction starts. Unfortunately, a lot has changed for over two years now.
Being a part of a group also shares a distinct idea in gaming. Once a person plays a game, a community becomes part of your identity and journey. As you share the same interests, you acquire the same knowledge and mindset as well. To be particular, by watching live streams of a game that you play, you can relate to everything’s going around. Even acquiring knowledge and understanding about the slangs and jargons of the game tend to be the result of adapting to a certain community. This is what gaming in today’s generation adheres. Gaming is not a typical entertainment purposes for oneself, it transcended into a community which makes it part of the social network sphere.
With the advent of the phenomenon where gaming is one of the spheres for socializing, the community evolves. It is new and has a lot to experience with possibly rising of both pros and cons, but it is a fact that gaming as an instrument is one of the people’s companions during this time. Among the items that we can build to strengthen ourselves, the orbs that we can acquire as we play alongside other players, and the variety of maps that we might walk by; as a battlefield or our spawn area, one thing is essential—we play, but not alone.

The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone is one of the most prestigious culinary schools in the entire country. Every year thousands of prospective chefs apply with only a handful chosen to attend. There is a long history of friendly fire between the Baking and Pastry students and the Culinary students, each specialty attracting specific personality types that don't always see eye-to-eye. While the bakers thrive off of order and precision, the hotsiders lean more towards gut feelings and controlled chaos. Never has this been more apparent than between Lukas Patterson and Julianna Molina.
For Luke, the CIA is a chance to appease his parents while still working on his music career in the background. Cooking isn't quite the same as writing music, but there's an art to it that can't be denied. Sure it stings a bit that his parents are willing to support this creative endeavor and not the one he cares the most about but beggars can't really be choosers.
For Julie, the CIA is a way to fulfill one of the promises made to her dying mother without having to fight through the pain of a different promise. The quiet of the Bakeshop in the early morning and the routine of prepping a recipe and moving through the steps has helped her find a sense of order in a world that felt out of control after the loss of her mom. There are still traditions to be carried on when it comes to baking, and if she uses school as an excuse to stop pursuing music, well no one has to know that but her.
And while at first they may believe themselves to be complete opposites, in time they come to realize they actually have a lot more in common than they originally thought. It's hard to hate someone when you start to find pieces of yourself reflected back in them. What starts as light teasing on Luke's side and pure annoyance on Julie's slowly starts to melt into something a lot softer. Turns out that sometimes when opposites attract and walls break down, the best kind of fire finds a way to burn.
look at me making a moodboard and writing a synopsis for a fic I am barely three chapters into writing😅 maybe posting this will force me to find a way to finish this fic, or maybe it will continue to live unfinished in my google docs forever.

When was the last time you were in pain? Did you take a painkiller? Last Saturday when I stubbed my toe and it made my nailbed bleed. Nah, I just dabbed tissue on it and covered it up a Band-Aid. It didn’t really need one, but I placed one anyway so that I didn’t have to see the cut.
What was the last question that someone else asked you? I was showing my mom some photos of the typhoon’s aftermath in our city and she was asking me where exactly one of the photos was taken. It’s honestly so bad over here rn and I feel kinda guilty for taking surveys when so much of the city still has chest-deep flood...but this is the one thing keeping me from going insane while we still don’t have electricity and internet at home, so.
Do you recall what you were doing last time 7pm came around? Wrapping up work, watching the newest episode of Good Mythical Morning, and was also probably looking for a survey to answer.
What was the last thing you consumed, that tasted sweet? Churros with chocolate dip.
Do you know who Mr Blobby is, or have you ever heard of him? I have never heard of it. Them? Him?
Have you ever befriended someone named Tom? What is/was he like? I don’t think so. I’ve never heard of a Tom where I live. I know Tims though, lol.
Does your father have any hobbies? What are they? He loves cars and motorcycles, and I also always catch him watching compilations of dumb vehicular accidents. He’s also into the latest gadgets and I know he’s been wanting a drone for ages now.
Name a food you enjoy, that starts with the same letter as your surname. Curry. :)
What did the last face mask you wore look like? I always wear those thin plain blue disposable ones because they are light and breathable. < Yeah, same. My mom buys boxes of these all the time so this kind is my only choice, really. I never minded it though.
Do you enjoy any songs by The Pet Shop Boys? The name is familiar and I probably know one or two songs of theirs that I enjoy, but I just can’t place any at the moment.
Is there a specific song that you always request at parties? What is it? Eh, not really. I let other people take over the music. Sometimes my friends will request Paramore for me hehehehe and it’s always nice when everyone ends up enjoying whatever song by them is played. But I’m personally often too shy myself to do the requesting because I’m scared it’ll turn out to be a flop.
Have you ever read 'The Railway Children?' Did you like it? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that.
What was the last thing someone said or did, that made you chuckle? So we have a card game at home wherein each card has a certain category and the game is simply a race to come up with an example under that category. So for example if the game master pulls out a card that says ‘fruit,’ you wanna be the first person to yell apple or orange or something. Anyway, my family pulled it out again because of the current power outage, and while we were playing earlier my mom excitedly yelled “CEREAL” when the category was “breakfast cereal.” All of us died laughing.
Have you ever met anyone named Joyce? What is/was she like? I know multiple people whose second name is Joyce, but I dunno anyone who has that as their main name or preferred nickname.
Who was the last relative you visited? My grandma. Needed to pick up the box of revel bars that my uncle had made for my mom.
Does anyone close to you have blue eyes? Nah, especially not in this part of the world. Who was the last person you messaged on social media? Andrew. He was simply checking up on me because our city is one of the hardest-hit areas of the typhoon so far.
^ Do you know when their birthday is? June or July 20something...I can’t remember at the moment.
Is there anyone you love, whose name starts with H? Hmm Hannah is a good friend of mine, and I guess I can say I love her, sure.
Do you own a hairdryer? What color is it? Yeah, pink. I’ve since given it to my sister since she needed a hairdryer in her dorm, but it was originally a gift for me.
What CDs do you have in your car, if any? I don’t keep CDs in my car anymore. If I wanted to listen to my music, I just link my Spotify to the stereo via Bluetooth.
One hour from now, what time will it be? 4:35 PM.

When you woke up today, did you find unread messages from anyone? Yeah, because I still talk to my ex like a dumbass. Did the last message you received contain any emojis? No, Angela didn’t use any. Have you recently told anyone that you miss them? Yeah, I said it to Hans today because he messaged me for the first time since my birthday this year. Are you wearing a scrunchie in your hair today? What color? Not right now. I used my hairtie to tie up the bag of chips I wasn’t able to finish earlier, so unless I finish that up soon I won’t be able to tie my hair up in a ponytail for a while haha. Have you sent or received any friend requests on Facebook lately? Yuh, the people I interned with - Angel, Justine, and Bianca - added me on there recently. My cousin Maggie also made an account and added me. Can you recall the last time you turned down an offer, of any kind? My mom offered me the last churro earlier because she knows I love them, but I didn’t feel like eating anymore so I let her have it. What was the last film that you saw for the first time? I’m Thinking of Ending Things. ^ Did you enjoy it? I had a hard time with it, especially with the last 20 or so minutes; and it was the first time I found myself struggling with a Charlie Kaufman work. I wouldn’t say I didn’t enjoy it, though. I guess I just found it a little too complex, and films that make me THINK think are generally a hit-or-miss for me. Which swear word did you utter most recently? Probably fuck or a local swear word. ^ Was it because you were annoyed in some way? A little bit, yeah. My phone’s adapter was missing for a few moments. Do you ever find the smell of your pets’ food unpleasant? No. We feed them the same things we eat, so it would be kind of odd to call that unpleasant. When was the last time you reheated leftovers? Tuesday. It was a burger I failed to finish over the weekend. What was the last thing you ate, that was from a bakery? Can’t even remember the last time we ordered from a bakeshop...a pandesal is my best guess, but I can barely remember the last time I had one of those. Which fruit would you say you eat the most often? Haaaaaaaaaaaa. Is there a lake close to where you live? Nope. There’s a river, though. What was the last song you recall singing along to? Broken-Hearted Girl by Beyoncé. Have you uploaded any photos to social media today? Of what? No. Literally everyone has been posting photos of their flooded houses and neighborhoods all day, and it’d be insensitive to post pics of my otherwise (fortunately) normal and relatively unaffected neighborhood or some other type of photo. Are you in the process of reading a book? Which one? Nope. ^ Are you enjoying it? - How recently did you charge the battery on your mobile phone? This morning, but I had to charge from my car because no electricity. I have to do it again, actually – my phone’s barely hanging on at 9%. Is there anyone you interact with every day, on social media? Yeah, my co-workers. In my new job, I’ll have to communicate with Ysa, Bea, and Steffi the most as I was placed in their team. What do you typically do to unwind at the end of the day? Watching the new episode of Good Mythical Morning and GMMore. Sometimes I’ll watch some wrestling too.

Has anything fallen out of your pocket at any time recently? My vape pen. Luckily I was in my room because I would’ve been a dead daughter if it fell out in front of my parents. Do you have any books that you plan to read sometime soon? Yeah. I plan to resume Midnight Sun one of these days. It’s just a little hard at the moment because I first got it and read it during a rough phase two months ago...opening the book just brings back the memories. It’ll be a while before I’m able to dissociate from those thoughts and enjoy the book. Did anything disturb your sleep at all last night? Yes, the typhoon. The wind was loud enough to wake me up. The electricity also went out a little after midnight, so that also made it hard to fall back asleep. What kind(s) of Facebook groups are you active in, if any? Too many, but I deactivated Facebook again so it doesn’t matter. Do you enjoy any films with Judi Dench in them? Which ones? I respect her contributions as an actress but I’m generally not a fan of the films in her repertoire, so I haven’t seen any of them. I do remember wanting to check out The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, but I just never got around to it. Do you enjoy any herbal or fruit teas? What kinds? No, I don’t like tea. Are you currently wearing anything grey? Yeah, my current shirt is gray. Nice timing :) Name any object in your household that is purple. The pen on my work desk is purple. I also have a purple highlighter that I used while still in college. What was the last food item that you used your hands to eat? Churros. Have you seen anyone today that you consider to be attractive? Nope, I’ve only seen my family and even though I wouldn’t call them ugly, I don’t find them attractive in ~that way either. Do you recall what you were doing at 9:30 this morning? Trying to take a survey before realizing I wouldn’t be able to finish it because I felt a breakdown coming through. Do you use a moisturizer? What brand? No. My skin doesn’t really require lots of maintenance, so I’ve left it be for the most part. Do you currently own or use any toiletries with a fruity scent? I don’t think so. My shampoo has that original scent that just smells like...shampoo, I guess, my conditioner smells like milk, and my toothpaste is minty rather than fruity. Does anyone close to you have a beard? Dad, but he shaves it off all the time. The last time you were in your kitchen, what task(s) did you carry out? I made myself coffee. Name some pop groups that you loved as a child. Wasn’t into any as a child, but as a teenager I liked One Direction. Ok fine, as an adult too heheh Do you recall the first CD you ever owned? The High School Musical soundtrack lol Have you ever worked with anyone named Sophie? What was she like? I went to school with multiple Sophies but I never had to work with them. What terms of endearment do you mostly use when speaking to others? I use “b” or “bb” with nearly everyone, as long as it’s appropriate. Is anyone in your family currently pregnant? No. I used to think I was next, but I think I’ll be waiting a lot longer now. I don’t even know if it would still happen to me...which is sad, because I’ve always wanted a kid of my own. Do you have any specific plans for this weekend? If the typhoon subsides by this week I’ll be expecting my cross-stitch kit that I ordered online, and I can’t wait to start learning all weekend. {found @ pinkchocolate}
