Bethany's Bizarre Miraculous Reviews Episode 5-21: The Tiger Miraculous 2: YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD ESCAPE JULEKA DISRESPECT!?
Why the worst akuma? Why? Why? Why? Apparently there was a deleted cathartic apology scene and the whole battle was thought about being removed. What the hell?
You're going to London
Damn. Even Plagg is serious.
That feels OOC. I always saw Rose as wanting to be a children's doctor while Juleka, not being like other goths, would want to be a model.
Lila wants to rule the world. I can tell.
Straight to the shredder
Dumbing down Chloe? Really?
They're cooking
Dumb idiot teenagers. Or is this stretching it?
Wait, when did that happen? A few days ago?
There's the damn retcon. You can't fool me, even if you try to say she did it to spend more time with her girlfriend Rose.
Honestly even if you change the power to be more inline with that stuff that traumatized me on Deviantart I still think it'd be better if she caused the Third Impact instead.
Nuclear bomb
Cap
Oh no. Lila's deathtrap.
Even Sabrina is disgusted!
Villain Monologue
Love me a good surprise trap when the villain thinks they have it all!
Damn. Even if it was a few seconds, I'd still rather have that than the [@#!$]
I know we aren't going back to Corrupt Mayor Andre, but a girlie can dream.
And they're admitting Audrey is evil too, right?
Fuck this shit I'm out
I'm classifying this as a retcon. Also Juleka disrespect. She did this back in season 4 as well. And in the English dub she talked in full sentences back in the first three seasons, and I'd argue it's better that way.
I'm thinking about it and yeah, this basically is a middle finger to Crocoduel. The Juleka Respect episode. Were Lukanette and Adrigami not enough to insult that you had to go for one of my blorbos too!?
Wait, he's fired? Does the school board not exist in this universe?
This again? Can we get to Lila's secret lair if it's here?
Oh no. Just another identity.
My theory on Lila is that she's much older than she looks, and is actually a serial killer that kills other students and takes their identities for her own uses. Lila's mother last episode was actually Cerise's considering the same movie excuse, not to mention it would explain the wig: she thinks Lila's putting on the wig for her filming. I also assume Lila's planning on doing the same to Marinette and possibly even Kagami. As for the woman in the season 4 finale, I assume she's actually a friend of Lila's diplomat mother ensured to take Lila to the station, considering how busy Lila's diplomat mother clearly is.

Note
I ended up thinking about Hawkmoth with good publicity again & had thoughts.
So, it was agreed Fu needs to change his entire methodology. His foe knows he exists & has some estimation as to an identity. He knows Hawk Moth want the Ladybug & Cat. He knows the man has connections in the city and is building both a fanbase by orchestrating disasters to play hero, so he can use his followers to eventually flush Fu out of hiding.
Long story short, he cannot keep all the Miraculous, nor can he risk putting Tikki & Plagg into the field. He also needs to find people who, rather than being cinnamon roles are those with little respect for authority or a willingness to break and bend the rules as necessary. He needs a team of infiltrators, saboteurs and fighters.
With that in mind he chooses: (I use my 12 Kwami lore, sorry XD)
Chloe, as she was often used as Hawk Moth's favorite hostage and is aware of his con. He entrusts her with Mulo both to help protect her identity as both civilian & agent and for infiltration and battles. With the power of Multiplication & Duplication, she takes the name Mademoiselle Millions!
Chloe uses her skills in ballet, gymnastics and general athleticism to orchestrate incredible combo attacks. Also like, sends tins versions of herself elsewhere or whatever, she thinks spy work is lame & has seen 'way' more than she ever wanted when looking for Hawk Moth.
Luka is chosen in large part because of his soul song ability, it helped him parce that Hawk Moth was not someone genuine. What's more, raised by ANarka he has a healthy disrespect for authority and his skills with empathy and calm head make him a good counter to some of the Butterflies inate powers.
He is entrusted with Dusuu and with the powers of Evocation & Transmutation, he takes the name Erymathy From kari-go). Luka uses these powers to enhance or weaken his surroundings, strengthen his allies or weaken his enemies, and to change the elemental nature of objects as necessary. Its useful for infiltration.
Juleka, like her brother, she has a healthy lack of trust in authority figures and is far mroe willing to go to extremes as she deems necessary. She is also surprisingly fearless in the face of monsters, even of social situation cause her dread.
Entrusted with Longg, she wields the Miraculous of Storm & Power, as Draconyx. SHe is an ideal partner for the Peacock which can radically dversify her elemental combinations allowing for greater versatility or more overwhelming power as the situation demands.
Alya is a reporter and while at first enamored with Hawk Moth, hshe sought to uncover his identity despite him stressing people should not. She also jjumped on toe 'conspiracy' theory that Hawk Moth was a thief with great interest, not outright distrustful, her commitments to the truth at any cost suits Fu's needs well.
Thus she was entrusted with Kaalki, the Kwami of Action & Migration, to assist her in infiltrating and intel gathering. Alya took on the name Troades (A Trojan Horse reference) and has sworn to get to the bottom of things no matter what. & if she becomes an acclaimed reporter, hero and all around stunner in the interim, she & Kaalki won't complain.
Fox: Fu would have liked to hand out the Fox, the powers of Mirage & Materialization, when used correctly could pull images and emotions from even Hawk Moth and help uncover his identity. However that Miraculous was lost sometime ago, though it seems to be making its way back to Paris in the hands of one, Volpina.
Tiger: I am unsure who I'd give Tiger to, my shortlist is, Kagami (Cos of course), Alyx (She can work) and Mylene (She is a protestor after all) But its hard to make any of them fit quite as I'd like. Though if Mylene was picked she'd go by Sabertooth to honor an extinct animal.
Still, he doesn't need to hand them all out right away so there'd be some wiggle room. Marinette & Adrien are off the list due to their respective respect for authority (Meaning she would struggle to see HK as a villain unless he does so in front of her) or controlling parents making the work harder.
I imagine Fu is a bit more involved in trying to designate tasks and serve as mission control, though he may need to move in & hide with his old flame to hide out from Hawk Moth and his followers. Also, a team made up of people with a lack of respect for authority is not exactly easy to control!
Who knew!?
XD
Oh!
Honestly I'm voting for Sabertooth.

Court of Miracles - Chapter 8 - Old Habits
Beginning || Previous || Next
Adrien and Duusu stepped off the teleportation pad into the peacock district of the capital metropolis. Duus grabbed Adrien’s wrist and dragged him through the shiny, reflective streets past elegantly shaped buildings made of glass. The passersby stopped to gawk at Duusu and Adrien, who still had his tail feathers materialized. The onlookers in their way jumped out of it and bowed before them.
Adrien tsked and looked away as Duusu pulled him into the lobby of a spa. The employees rushed around like chickens with their heads cut off as they carried out Duusu’s orders. Adrien huffed as Duusu led him down a hall of smooth, turquoise stone and marble lit with low, cool lights.
Adrien and Duusu stepped into a large room with various attendants lined up. Duusu released Adrien and approached the staff. Adrien snorted and strutted around the room. He saw the usual that Duusu would order for when he was upset. A relaxing bath to soak in with a massage to follow, his favorite comfort foods paired with an entourage of staff to complain to, and a comfy chaise with soothing music set up for him to unwind in after everything.
Adrien crossed his arms and turned away. He did appreciate Duusu’s efforts, but it wouldnt be enough this time. He had Luka, himself, and their relationship disrespected enough to last several months. It would take more than cheap, little fix-its to calm him this time.
Adrien turned and sauntered over to the chaise. He caught Duusu’s eye as he took a seat and fanned out his feathers. He rested his head on the armrest and stared at Duusu. Duusu’s eye twitched as he let out a loud, audible sigh.
“For the love of Velze, Adrien. You two! Go find his mate. Now!” Duusu barked.
The pair of girls flinched, then bowed before they rushed out. Duusu dismissed the others before he approached Adrien.
“Who insulted him today?” Duusu asked.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Adrien hissed.
“Fine. Don’t talk to me, but I know you’ll talk to your mate. You always do, and I’m always listening. Never forget that.”
Adrien narrowed his eyes as Duusu vanished and left him alone.
~~
Juleka stepped off the teleportation pad after Sass. Her breath caught as she looked up at a rainforest canopy that blocked out the worst of the sun’s rays. Despite the shade offered by the canopy, the air was humid and wet from a recent shower. A chill passed through her as she eyed each of the sterile, clean buildings that struck her as various clinics, hospitals, and funeral homes.
Sass opened his mouth, but Juleka trotted along. People stopped to gawk at her, but she ignored them as she moved from building to building. Her eyes sparked with curiosity at the different shops along this stretch of road. She marveled at the items on display that ranged from medical equipment, medicinal herbs and drugs, incense, oils, and more. She didn’t see any shops that sold things like clothes aside of funerary and medical clothes, food, or other basic essentials.
            “Enjoying your sightseeing?” Sass asked.
“It’s… something, but where’s all the basic shit? You know, water, food, that kind of stuff.”
“We get that stuff from the dragons. They’re generous when it comes to us, and they give freely to the snakes. For the others, they have to pay a pretty coin.”
“Why? What makes snakes so special?”
“That falls to Longg and I. We have… an interesting sort of relationship. A relationship that has benefited the many families and descendants of those families. You’ll find that other kwamis and their respective people get similar treatment from others like Longg and I.”
“So… kwamis fuck. Is that what I’m hearing?”
Sass stopped and turned to Juleka. He opened his mouth but stopped when his eyes darted past her. She tilted her head when she heard her name called. Anger burned through her as she recognized the voice as Luka. She turned towards Luka as he ran towards her, his hair a mess of colors.
“What the fuck did he do?” Sass hissed.
            “I don’t what to know. C’mon, let’s-,” Juleka started.
“Juleka, my darling girl! There you are!” Anarka cheered.
Juleka’s eyes widened as she saw Anarka rush towards her out of the corner of her eye. She ducked away as Anarka and Luka collided into each other. They recovered while she stared them both down.
“What the fuck are you two doing here?” Juleka roared.
            “Jules, this is-,” Anarka started.
“Don’t call me that! You have no right to call me by any little pet name. No right!”
“Jules, please, calm down. Everything is alright. You’re part of the family now. There’s no need to carry on the act.”
“Act? Act! Is that all that was for my entire fucking life? Just a little act you and Luka put on to isolate me? To make me feel worthless? To make me feel like I was a mistake?”
“Juleka, please, we had to do what we did. It’s just… just our way. Your way too,” Luka butted in.
“Can it, golden child! I don’t want to hear jack-fucking-shit from you. From any of you! I was never part of your family. Never! These powers. This… everything! It means nothing! I am not one of you. I will never be one of you!”
“Jules, please, it’s ok. You are one of us now. You are family,” Anarka said.
Anarka held out a hand to Juleka. Juleka hissed and swatted it away. She turned away from Anarka and tripped. She hit the ground as the feeling of a myriad of eyes fell on her. She dug her nails into the ground as she noticed the large crowd that had gathered. She gritted her teeth as hot tears rimmed her eyes as rage and humiliation tore through her.
            “Deep breaths, Juleka,” Sass instructed.
“I’m fucking trying. What do you think-?” Juleka hissed in a low voice.
“It’s ok, Juleka. I’m here. I’m finally here,” Luka said as he knelt beside Juleka.
Juleka’s breath caught as her world slowed and crashed down. A shiver passed through her as she felt her bones and muscles shift beneath her skin. She took a breath, then another. She roared as she swung and tore her armor nails across Luka’s face. Sickly green light and hideous shadows trailed along them and left four long, deep slashes across Luka’s face. Screams and gasps tore through the area as she shifted into her naga form.
Juleka hissed and lunged for Luka. Sass caught her and threw her back onto the teleportation pad. She recovered and started for Luka when the runes beneath lit up. She tilted her head as she vanished as the pair of peacock attendants appeared. She heard Sass hiss a curse before she appeared in the peacock district.
Juleka’s eyes widened, and jaw dropped at the beauty of the peacock district. The glass buildings that towered over were works of art first, functional second. The streets were made of a pristine, reflective metal that showed a perfect reflection of anything it caught. The sidewalks and streets were decorated with natural glass flowers with petals that looked like blown glass.
Juleka struggled to stand and move in her naga form. She hissed and spat before she gave up and rolled and dragged herself around. She felt eyes fall on her as she moved about, but she didn’t care about these strangers and their judgements. She explored the many shops that sold beauty products, artisan supplies, art, and clothing. She stopped and admired the many park plazas that were each decorated with a lavish fountain centerpiece and surrounded by hundreds of the same glass flowers. She took a break and pulled herself onto the rim of a fountain. She marveled at the beautiful crystal-clear water with prismatic reflections.
Juleka sighed and laid out on the fountain. She peered out at the onlookers and their shocked, bewildered looks. The pauses they all shared as they whispered to their companions about her. The same curious thoughts got the better of her as they always had. She watched them as memories overlapped of the countless times she had done this before. The numerous times she had fought with her family, when she’d run away to a place like this, and be in a place where she could just be.
Juleka turned away from the onlookers to the magic water. Her ruined world was destroyed. The life she fought to just exist in seemed like a distant dream, but the nightmare didn’t end. She was free of her family’s indifference, had their love, but it still doesn’t feel like she’d want it to. The years she suffered didn’t matter to Anarka and Luka. They were ready to forget them like they were nothing and move on, but not her. To them, this changed everything, but it changed nothing.
Juleka sighed and rolled onto her stomach. She rested her head on her arms as her eyes grew heavy. She shook herself as the sun warmed her and lulled her to sleep.
~~
Adrien stared at the wall as he tapped his fingers on the chaise. He grumbled and snorted under his breath as the seconds passed by. His eyes darted from the door to the wall until the door opened. He perked up, hoping to see Luka, but it was just the two girls.
            “Where is he?” Adrien demanded.
The pair of attendants looked at one another with terrified looks. The one on the right pushed the left one forward and ran. Adrien stood and towered over the attendant.
            “Well?”
The attendant shrank back. “Uh, well, you see, uh, there was an… incident. L-Luka was, uh… injured.”
Adrien’s eyes widened as he grabbed the attendant. “Where is he?”
“Snake district, at the main hospital.”
Adrien tossed aside the attendant and rushed to the teleportation hub. He hopped onto a portal pad and teleported to the Snake District. He ran through the district to the hospital up to Luka’s room. He burst into the room and froze. He paled seeing the four long gashes across the left side of Luka’s face and his eye.
“What happened? Who did this to you? Was it Lila? I’ll never let her-!” Adrien started.
“No, no! It was just Juleka,” Luka cut in.
“Juleka? Why would she do this?”
“The lassie won’t let go of the past. She won’t accept that she’s part of the family now. And poor Luka. He tried to help her, but she hurt him instead,” Anarka mumbled.
“Well, what are you waiting for? Heal him,” Adrien demanded.
“They have been, The wounds, they just, uh, keep reopening,” Luka said.
            “Reopening? How?” Adrien asked.
“Uh, we think it might be a power of Juleka’s. Right, Mom?”
“Aye. We have some records of heirs that are able to inflict horrible, everlasting wounds on their foes. We fear she’s done just that with Luka.”
“What? Where is she? I’m going to give her a piece of my mind!” Adrien screeched.
            “Wait, please, don’t-!” Luka started.
Sass stepped into the room and shoved a needle into Adrien’s neck. Adrien gasped as Sass injected a potent, fast-acting sedative into Adrien. Adrien’s eyes rolled to the back of his head as he collapsed.
“Duusu, come collect your heir,” Sass barked.
Duusu materialized and looked down at Adrien, then at Sass. “You know I don’t approve of this method.”
“And you should know that I don’t care. Now get him out of here.”
Duusu tsked, flung Adrien over his shoulder, and left. Sass sighed and approached Luka.
“You are lucky, fool boy. Juleka is unaware of the full range of her powers, and you should be thankful she doesn’t know yet,” Sass scolded.
“Can you heal him, please?” Anarka begged.
Sass hummed. He raised his hand as a bright green light flashed, but Luka’s wounds weren’t healed.
“What did you do? Why isn’t he healed?” Anarka demanded.
“Bandage him up and let them heal on their own,” Sass instructed.
“What? You’re punishing him? Why? He didn’t do anything wrong!” Anarka challenged.
“If you cannot see why, then let it be a reminder.”
“Reminder? Reminder of what? That Juleka is as hot-headed and stubborn as she always has been?”
Sass grabbed Anarka’s chin and squeezed it. “A reminder of this moment. A reminder of what happens when you fuck around with life. We’ve not had to face the consequences of our methods. And seeing her, seeing the everything it just… we must do right by her, not the family. Especially if she’s to be the heir.”
“What? Never! She is volatile, chaotic, and savage. She’s unworthy of a seat in court. Especially after this little stunt she pulled!”
“That decision is not for you to make, Anarka. That is for Velze, and I know you will never challenge Velze, would you?”
            “I… no.”
“Good lass. Now, bandage him up. If I see anyone healed him, I will inflict the wounds again and to the healer responsible. Understood?”
            Silence.
Sass nodded and vanished. The doctors moved to bandage up Luka’s face. Anarka let out a sigh and gently touched Luka’s right cheek.
“Don’t worry, lad. Everything will be set right. You’ll keep your heir status and Juleka… well, we’ll see where she fits into this.”
Luka gave a weak smile to Anarka before she was escorted out. He sighed and stared at the ground. He would make things right with Juleka. He wasn’t sure how, but he would do right by her.

Miraculous Ladybug and "Girl Power"
This post will not be about Marinette, as I've already gone over in previous posts of mine how I think the series lets her down in numerous different ways and if I were to add them all in here again it would overshadow everything else.
And "everything else", in this respect, involves the other female classmates and how they've all been let down in various ways by the whims of the creators and the writing team.
(Which bears worth mentioning at this point are majority male. The creator of the series is male, the main producer is male, and quite a bit of the writer's room over various years has been male.)
These various decisions in poor storytelling have led to, in some cases, the characters themselves becoming points of division within the fandom. Which also isn't something seen in other fandoms, at least not to the same extent I've witnessed in this one.
This is going to be long, so let's get going.
Alix: Ends up having to leave her class, and family, and exist "somewhere in time" until the Butterfly Miraculous is claimed back. However, since in the finale of Season 5 it gets lost again, ultimately she is gone for an undetermined length of time. Also she might become her own grandmother.
Rose: An undefined mysterious "illness" plagues her, and that it can come back at "any time", but it's not defined, therefore a Sword of Damocles is always hanging over her.
Sabrina: Essentially a slave to Chloe, shown at one point to actually be locked in a closet while being forced to do the homework of her "best friend". Is oblivious to how poorly she's being treated.
Juleka: At some point over between Seasons 3 and 4, was retconned into being the "twin" of Luka, which had the added effect of making her fail a year of school and so was held back. May or may not be in love with Rose, it's not something that will ever be properly defined.
Mylene: A character whose design incorporates her hair into rainbow dreads, which is a quagmire of appropriation.
Lila: A master manipulator that, for some reason, is able to fool various kids and adults and is able to flex between three different families. Has essentially become a caricature as her background leads to disbelief, and has been chosen to be the future Hawkmoth on top of that all.
Alya: Due to choices made when meeting Lila and with the continuation of believing certain things said by her, over Marinette, and also for various choices made while being a hero, Alya's position in the fandom has turned out to be divisive enough that "Alya Salt" is a genre of fanfiction on AO3.
Chloe: Originally on the road to redemption, things took a turn during Season 3 and ultimately Chloe paid the price of decisions made behind the scenes. Presented as even more evil than Hawkmoth, her future is one of being stuck with her abusive mother.
Zoe: Introduced in Season 4, Zoe is Chloe's sister and "replacement", in more ways than one. Not only does she get the Bee Miraculous, she also gets Chloe's biological father. Also has a crush on Marinette and it's actually shown in the show before Marinette lets her down gently as nothing can get in the way of the Love Square.
Kagami: Stuck alongside another abusive parent who disregards her artistic talent despite being blind, Kagami is eventually revealed to be a Sentimonster and will be in a relationship with a person who has shown to be disrespectful, and also said pairing came out of nowhere.
-
That's just a short list, and again it doesn't include everything with Marinette.
Such "Girl Power", am I right?

Class of Heroes AU: Pet Peeves
These are the things that really grind the gears of our hero kids! As always, credit to @imsparky2002 and @artzychic27! Mega thanks to Sparky, who helped come up with a lot of these! Keep an eye out for the matching villains post!
Marinette: Sexism of any shape or form drives her absolutely mad with fury. When she’s told she can’t do something solely because of the fact she is female, she will go to just about any length to prove that person wrong! She also can’t stand it when people cheat or “act dishonorably”.
Adrien: Due to his past with his ‘father’, Adrien finds it incredibly difficult to forgive someone when he feels they’ve taken advantage of him. Manipulating him or using him for personal gain is a surefire way to lose his friendship for good.
Alya: Laziness and people who refuse to do their share of the work are the bane of Alya’s existence. Success is earned through hard work and she refuses to put up with anyone sitting out on their responsibilities. And if you know what’s good for you, you’ll use proper table manners in her company!
Nino: Nino feels incredibly insulted and undervalued when people don’t show any thanks for him helping them with his magic. He also loathes anybody who puts their own desires over everything else, selfishness goes against his very nature as a fairy godsibling. (He also strongly objects to anyone touching his wings without permission, a sign of extreme disrespect to a fairy!)
Max: With the amount of work and dedication he puts into all of his inventions, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Max becomes highly agitated if anyone tries to take credit for his creations or use them for unethical purposes. It also rubs him the wrong way when people (*cough* Royals *cough*) try to push their homework off on him.
Kim: The young demigod has a burning hatred for bullying or harassment of any kind. Due to his own past being an outcast in his hometown, he can’t stand by when anyone else is being mistreated similarly. (And if you don’t want to be put through a wall, DRINK YOUR RESPECT WOMEN JUICE.)
Alix: A guaranteed way to anger this young street rat is to mistreat those younger and weaker than you. Alix can’t bear to see children being harmed in any way, especially those forced into the streets like herself! It’s also unwise to mock her for her kleptomania, if you want to get your belongings back, at least…
Ivan: Ever since making real friends who actually respect and care about him, Ivan is far less willing to put up with being mocked and treated as a freak. (It’s also a bad idea to ask invasive questions or make rude comments about his back condition. DON’T call him a hunchback.)
Mylene: It just breaks Mylene’s heart when she’s forced to watch her darling animal friends be mistreated in any way, shape or form! The creatures of the woodlands have feelings too, and if you want to stay on this princess’ good side, you’ll treat them with the respect and care you ought to!
Juleka: The resident cursed of the hero classes is, quite frankly, sick and tired of people regarding and treating her as some manner of frightful and dangerous monster based on her appearance. Oh, and unless you happen to be Rose, touching her fur and horns is a BIG No-No.
Rose: Rose believes strongly in compassion and understanding being extended to everyone, no matter who they are or what they look like. Because of this, the quickest way to set her off is to mock or belittle someone else for being ‘different’. Especially if the person being mocked happens to be Juleka!
Sabrina: Stemming from terrible past experiences and perhaps a bit of envy about others not needing to worry about their appearances being altered, Sabrina carries a burning hatred for being deceived in any way. If she catches you in a lie, pray to whatever you believe in that Aurore is nearby to calm her down!
Nathaniel: If you value your existence on this Earth, do NOT make any attempt to wake this boy up before his body is ready. You will regret it. It’s also a BAD idea to mess with or insult his artwork in any capacity.
Chloé: Before she started putting in the effort to improve herself as a person, the young heiress went batty when anyone refused to do as she pleased or stood up to her in any way. Post-redemption arc, she tends to snap when anyone brings up her old ways or accuses her of faking kindness.
Zoé: This young royal cannot stand to walk into a room and find it in disarray! You could call Zoé a bit of a neat freak, nothing drives her up the wall more than when people neglect to clean up after themselves. Honestly, it’s just common courtesy!
Marc: One could say that the heir to the throne of Arendelle has a bit of a thing about his personal space. Especially when he’s upset, it’s a good idea to give him a wide berth unless you’re one of his friends. Also, DON’T touch his gloves!
Ondine: She absolutely can’t stand when people don’t show respect for her home, the water, where her family still lives. Seeing people leave their trash on the beach or dump toxic fluids into a river will infuriate her. It also upsets her quite a bit when someone mentions going fishing or eating fish.
Kagami: Stubborn and rebellious to her core, the archery-proficient princess can’t STAND being given orders, especially ones that go against what she believes in! If you try to fence her in, she’ll fight you to the bitter end!
Aurore: Being a fairy of the night sky, Aurore’s purpose in life is to watch over and guide others in being their best selves. As such, any kind of rule-breaking or wanton misbehavior irks her like you wouldn’t believe! (Also, don’t touch her wings without asking. Like I said, it’s a fairy-respect thing!)
Mireille: The princess of the Pride Lands is almost a full-grown lioness, and she can’t STAND it when people coddle her as if she’s still a mere cub! Yes, she’s had some bad things happen and yes, maybe she still has things to learn, but she can take care of herself just fine, thank you very much! (Also: NO CAT JOKES.)
Jean: If there’s one thing that you just don’t do, it’s throw off Emperor Jean’s groove! He puts so much time and effort into each of his performances that to have someone kill his mojo is a sacrilege of epic proportions! Now he’s gonna have to start all over! (He is also, like Marc, NOT the biggest fan of people besides his friends touching him!)
Denise: Having had to put up with this treatment since they were programmed into existence, Denise is just about at the end of their rope with being labeled as a “bad guy” for even the smallest of mistakes. (It’s also not very smart to move their belongings without telling or asking them.)
Simon: If there’s one thing this Neverland native finds supremely annoying, it’s a stick-in-the-mud! (Outside of his home, at least) Life doesn’t last forever, so why would you waste it being a big ol’ grouch? (Also, don’t treat him like a kid. He’s a lot more mature than you think!)
Ismael: Ismael, like Nino and Aurore, has a real problem with people not showing gratitude for the wishes he grants. But what really makes him angry is when people don’t honor the promises they make. (One too many finders before Alix came along gave him their word to free him with their final wish, only for that to never come to pass…)
Reshma: Reshma will go absolutely postal when anyone mocks her for her perfectionist tendencies, ESPECIALLY being called anything close or related to ‘Little Miss Perfect’. Is it her fault that she was held up as the ‘golden child’ of her family her entire life? (And if you have any sense, you’ll take proper care of your plants!)
Cosette: Cosette finds it incredibly insulting when people diss their music by calling it shallow and meaningless based solely on the fact that it happens to fall under the ‘Pop’ umbrella. Music is music, what matters is the heart, not the genre.
Lacey: Again, DON’T TOUCH THE WINGS. Lacey also cannot put up with being confined in any sort of small space. This fairy needs room to move, so closets and crawl spaces are a definite ‘NO’. (She’s had some right nasty experiences with a few of her and Simon’s pirate foes back in Neverland…)
As usual, leave thoughts and opinions in the comments and reblogs! Love and hugs! (Keep an eye out for more of our Mirrorverse crossover!)

I Request A Prompt - MLB Prompt (details inside)
●─── ↳ 𝙳𝙴𝚃𝙰𝙸𝙻𝚂 𝙿𝚁𝙾𝙼𝙿𝚃 𝚃𝙾 𝚁𝙴𝚀𝚄𝙴𝚂𝚃 ↝
𝖯𝖺𝗂𝗋𝗂𝗇𝗀𝗌: 𝖫𝗎𝗄𝖺𝖽𝗋𝗂𝖾𝗇, 𝖣𝖺𝗆𝗂𝗇𝖾𝗍𝗍𝖾, 𝖢𝗁𝗅𝗈𝖾 𝗑 𝖭𝗂𝗇𝗈
𝖲𝖺𝗅𝗍/𝖡𝖺𝗌𝗁𝗂𝗇𝗀: 𝖫𝗂𝗅𝖺 𝖲𝖺𝗅𝗍, 𝖣𝖺𝗆𝗈𝖼𝗅𝖾𝗌 𝖡𝖺𝗌𝗁𝗂𝗇𝗀, 𝖡𝗎𝗌𝗍𝗂𝖾𝗋 𝖡𝖺𝗌𝗁𝗂𝗇𝗀
PROMPTS:
Let's say that Chloe had other plans to get rid of Rossi, Damocles, and Bustier. She remembered that her father installed a secruity camera on the entire school campus to catch bullies, enabler teacher and principal. But only her father and herself has access since they don't trust the Principal very well. As for Marinette to be part of this is that Lila is still targetting Marinette Dupain-Cheng but what everyone in the class doesn't know that she is dating Damian Wayne when she first met him in the League of Assassin with her mother they were met to be betroth for the matter of time between the League of Assasin and the Order of the Guardian to call in for alliances. Her mother Sabine was part of the League of Assassin with her sister Shu Yin, she only told her husband about it. And for Adrien well he found out that he was gay for boys instead for girls. He cared about Kagami and Marinette as his own sisters not by blood. He had fallen in love with Luka Couffaine but their secret keeper was his sister Juleka. Juleka was not very happy with Lila's lies at the moment but stay quiet until futher notice. Damocles and Bustier will be in the biggest part in this prompt as they seem to like to boy-cotting Lila Rossi more than Chloe Bourgeois they seem to forget who is the Mayor of Paris. As Bustier tried her best to expell Chloe for disrespect on Lila Rossi. It made Lila to change targets towards Chloe Bourgeois who seem to be stupid for not realizing that Chloe is the daughter of the Mayor. Almost everyone in Miss Bustier's class forgot who is Chloe except for Adrien, Marinette, Nino, Kim, Sabrina, Juleka, and Alix. They seem to be wrapped on Lila Rossi's lies instead of seeing the truth or whats in front of them.
That will be all. If any one of you is interested to make this promp. Either reblog or tagged me so I know where I can read this as well.

About those bad characters, you know what I wanna see? Luka and Juleka going off on Z0e for her “she’s just being Marinette” comment. Like, Mari went out of her way to help her, and now she goes and treats her like that?? Nope, not on their watch. Also, NO ONE is going to disrespect Marinette in their home 😤 (suddenly, the Seine became full of blond hair)
omg I adore that idea.
Like--Juleka and Marinette both striving not to be pushed around anymore (Marinette for obvious reasons and Juleka since the other girls didn’t even go to check on her when she ran off anxiously, instead prioritizing her brother who most of them barely know), then Luka hearing from Juleka about the plan the girls had concocted to force Marinette to talk to him which is absolutely not cool with him.
Thus, the Liberty becomes a safe zone for Marinette, the Couffaine twins grow even closer to Marinette with a greater understanding of what she deals with (and vice versa), and Zoe best not speak another word of “Marinette being Marinette” ever again.
Blondes quickly become an endangered species on the Liberty.
Anonymous asked:
Referring to the other anons idea about Luka wielding the LB miraculous - I would love to see Chats reaction to a different LB showing up except this time it's a guy - Imagine that! Ladybug has other friends!!! And some of them are boys! And she trusts them with one of the main miraculouses! B-but than he's not special anymore! How dare she have a social life outside of him. But sadly no amount of guilt tripping work on Luka
Meanwhile, Luka internally: Oh my God, I was supporting this guy.

Bethany's Bizarre Miraculous Reviews Episode 5-24: The Beginning of the End: NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE
NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE Watermelon NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE
Why does Marinette's voice sound so deep in the intro, now that I think about it? Why specifically this season? Because it's season 5?
Well, at least the show's not hypocritical about calling the news forcing couples bad.
Deepfakes
Oh, right. this. Feligami is like breaking up with Mega Man only to start dating Mega Man?, who is a different character from Mega Man that appeared in Powered-Up and is essentially just Mega Man but an evil binch. He's prevalent in 8-bit deathmatch.
"Fuck it! I'm revealing my identity to Marinette!"
Oh right. This. You think they'd celebrate Chloe's Public Execution the same way? Now I'm getting into watching people suffer.
Spotlight
Oh hey. Kagami knows Ladybug's identity! Awesome! Not awesome that she's sharing it with Mr. Genocide over here, though.
Wait, she knows Ladybug's identity as well but was akumatized twice and Hawkmoth didn't notice. Damnit, there's no excuse for sending Luka to Brazil now!
Warped-ahh voice
Eh. Close enough for me. Now do the other two.
The White Rabbit
Why does she look so much more dying now?
Here it comes!
That's it? That's the nightmares? A single image? And the character who's all about the plight of being seen now has the worst nightmare of her supposed father breaking a guitar? Rose's was pretty immature, too.
Baby doll
Tired of his dad's shit
Oh boy. Gabriel-Marinette parallels. This relationship is doomed.
Cowboy-ass mf
Cool motive. Still working with a terrorist supervillain and committing genocide.
Welp, there goes Felix's integrity.
Couldn't he call Ladybug for a quick Lucky Charm and big bang?
Oh. Nevermind.
Oh. Double nevermind.
The foosball dungeon
Yep, I'm undergoing my villain arc. Anyone have any fics that simultaneously show how horrendous Adrienette would be and gives Felix plenty of consequences for his actions or am I just going to have to imagine having my own villain arc where I become something inbetween the Toymaker and Bill Cipher and be a silly whimsical creature that loves to play games while also being a sinister dealmaker that might remove your eyes if you lose my quiz show and mess with reality even without the Two Miraculouses?

Miracuclass working at McDonalds would include...
(inspired by the wonderful @sketchy-panda bringing an AU of a Miraculous/McDonalds crossover, I present to you what chaos I imagine would ensue if the entire class worked at McDonalds. :D)
This is also my 2,000th post!!!
Chloe wanted to speak to the manager
It was so she could fire them
So she’s the manager
Adrien is that one employee that looks far too happy all the time for the setting they’re in but he’s just vibin so we don’t disrespect
“Hi there!!! 😊😊😃😃 I hope you’re having a ✨wonderful✨ day, welcome to McDonalds!! 🤩🤩”
Rose helps Adrien take orders since they’re literally embodiments of positivity
Marinette is usually tasked with either folding boxes or being at the window since she can’t set anything on fire that way
Alya is in the kitchen managing stuff and cooking a good majority of the food with Nathaniel, Ivan, and Sabrina as helpers
Nath will sometimes doodle on the nugget boxes
Sabrina is called on by Chloe regularly bring her chicken mcnuggets
Alya is the Gordon Ramsay of Maccies
“WHERE’S THE BBQ SAUCEEEEEE” - Alya, at some point
Nino just kinda vibes at the register with Alix
There was one time a really bratty kid came in and the really stressed parent looked like they needed a Break™
Nino’s solution???
He farted on the kid’s Happy Meal box and everyone was in the floor laughing about it after work when they found out
You could walk in and all these teenagers who are running this McDonalds are just in the floor laughing hysterically over toilet humor
Juleka is the janitor
She gives people death stares as they walk in for fun and actually enjoys keeping the place clean
Rose takes out orders to people who had to wait so they’ll come back because some waits can take up to an hour with this bunch
Kim and Max,,,, don’t actually work there
Max will walk in with Chick-Fil-A (where he works) and make sure everyone notices him
He’ll be as obnoxious as possible while eating
Kim just plays on the PlayPlace all day
If they need an extra hand they’ll put him up to it
One time he burned his hand in the deep fryer because he wanted the, and I quote, “freshest nuggies this world has ever seen”
He was in the hospital for third degree burns afterward
Ivan came to his room just to laugh at him and then left for work
“Marinette looks so cute in a McDonald’s hat...” - Adrien
He has no idea that was caught on camera
Lila was banned for life as soon as Chloe took ownership
Why? Cuz she could
Gabriel learns that Adrien’s working the job for free and tries to buy the McDonald’s so he can fire everyone else and give all their paychecks to Adrien
Nino’s solution???
He sets the McDonalds on fire one night after everyone’s gone
I hope you all enjoyed this!! <333333 Thank u Sketchy for letting me make this!!

Got inspired by the one and only @ghostlyhamburger  , who just went "I have this amazing dark idea but it's too dark for me" and I was foaming at the mouth to tackle it. So, whenever anyone has too dark/angsty ideas, send them my way :3
Also, go read her fics, you won't regret it at all. They're all absolutely amazing!
Credit to: @ghostlyhamburger
Warnings: Angst, verbal abuse, horrible parenting (hello, it's Gabriel), Senti!Adrien.
Forever Hold Your Peace
Gabriel knew it was a matter of time before his son entered his office with a request on his lips.
A request, unlike many, Gabriel was powerless to reject.
“Father, I wanted to tell you something.”
Hands clasped together with his brows furrowed in concern, Gabriel asked, “What is it, Adrien?”
He wished he could turn back time and never have his son utter the following words.
“I wanted to tell you to approve of my upcoming marriage to Marinette.”
With his throat running dry and his hand fiddling with his ring, Gabriel gestured towards the chair. “Sit down, Adrien.”
-
It had been three hours since Adrien Agreste had entered his father’s office, Nathalie had been keeping the young Ms. Dupain-Cheng company in the living area, both cautiously sipping from their warm tea in the otherwise icy atmosphere. Gorilla stood guard at the doors, Marinette wasn’t sure if he stood there to guard her from Gabriel Agreste’s upcoming rage or to guard the man from hers.
She knew this conversation wouldn’t be an easy one, knew that his father wouldn’t approve. She was determined to fight for her love after taking so long to realize it, she was willing to continue the fight even if her opponent was Gabriel Agreste himself.
“Your dress will wrinkle if you hold it for too long, Miss Dupain-Cheng.” Nathalie’s pointed remark made Marinette immediately loosen her death grip on the fabric. She knew it would wrinkle all too easily, she designed it herself.
“Sorry,” was all that managed to leave Marinette’s mouth, before she placed the teacup closer to her parched lips. “It’s been…a while since he left.”
Nathalie nodded, sharp eyes glancing towards the closed door where her colleague stood guard. A knowing glance was all they shared before the secretary returned her attention to the young woman before her. “Mr. Agreste has never been one to rush important business.”
Marinette lowered her head, a small smile playing on her lips, “Business’, huh…” her previously nervous countenance changed.
Nathalie noticed her mistake, “Miss Dupain-Cheng, I-“
“I know,” when Marinette lifted her head to look at Nathalie, those blue eyes didn’t belong to the young lovestruck girl that stumbled her way into the home of the boy she crushed on anymore, they reminded her of Ladybug’s gaze when the heroine took charge in protecting the city against her enemies, “I’m aware Nathalie, I just wish it didn’t have to be this way.”
The teacup in the older woman’s hands trembled slightly before slender fingers gripped it tighter, knuckles turning white from the force applied on the delicate porcelain. Quietly, Nathalie whispered. “I wish that too.”
No sooner after the quiet confession did the doors to Gabriel’s office slam open.
Some would say Adrien Agreste was an open book to his friends and the public, but Marinette knew better when she saw the calm expression on her fiancé’s face.
And the practiced model smile on his lips.
-
The weather was sunny, setting the scene for an outdoor wedding perfectly.
The decorations were of the bride’s and groom’s own choosing; pure white calla lilies blended with the soft colors of green and blue, red rose petals were scattered across the aisle on the red carpet.
Sweet strains of classical music drifted through the crowd, Kitty Section outdoing themselves with bewitching their audience and charming their hearts. Luka’s violin playing, Juleka’s soothing guitar chords and Rose’s pleasantly soft vocals made the wedding deceptively harmonious.
Adrien Agreste was nothing short of perfection, dressed sharply in the most expensive suit he dared accept from his father, not a hair out of place as he waited for his bride. His father sat at the front row, eyes trained elsewhere while Nino nudged Adrien’s side to calm the groom’s nerves.
The music stopped, and all heads turned to face the far end of the walk. The opening to the bridal chorus started to play. Down the aisle she came.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
Soon to be Agreste.
As the guests stood from their seats to welcome the bride and her father as they walked down the aisle, Gabriel Agreste was the only one whose expression didn’t match the joyous occasion.
His mind replayed the moments where he knew his son’s fate was sealed.
‘I will not allow you to marry Miss Dupain-Cheng!’
‘I didn’t come here to ask for your permission, father. I came to inform you of my decision.’
‘Don’t be smart with me, boy! I’ve granted you too much freedom since you went to school, you lack discipline.’
‘I’m no longer a child, father!’
‘You’re no longer a child of mine.’
‘Was that something you’ve always felt about me but never dared to say out loud for fear of me running away?”
‘I’ll not be disrespected in my own home, Adrien!’
‘This was never a real home to begin with.’
‘Insolent-! I will never bless this union, if all those years ago I had successfully changed your mother’s mind, you would’ve never been born.’
Closing his eyes, Gabriel took a deep, shuddering breath, fingers playing with the silver ring on his hand.
The guests were eerily silent, awaiting the vows with anticipation.
Gabriel watched the young bride be given to the son he disowned, watched the genuinely elated expressions on their faces with growing contempt.
As the marriage officiant began speaking and encouraging the couple to read their vows, all eyes were suddenly on the groom.
Marinette gazed at her fiancé in concern, eyes wide in surprise. “Adrien?”
Gabriel’s silver ring lay in shattered pieces on the floor, surrounded by rose petals on the blood red carpet and a single white feather resting peacefully between.
And with it a shattered future.
Thanks for reading! :3 I wonder...could this have the potential for a happy ending?

Mirrorverse Crossover - Juleka
Julebeast’s claws gripped tightly at the chair she was sitting in. The sorceress noticed this and flashed a taunting grin. “Honestly.” Juleficent cooed. “Can’t we put that little tiff we had last night behind us? Have a pleasant conversation?” The hero couldn’t help but let out a growl as she responded. “How could I ever have a pleasant conversation with you?” Juleficent’s grin grew even wider. “Nonsense! There’s plenty that we can talk about! Our love for the gothic culture, Our beloved Rose…” At the mention of their girlfriend, both Julekas felt themselves soften.
“She is truly one of a kind…” Julebeast replied wistfully. “A lovely petal in a sea of thorns.” The villainess nodded in agreement. “My candy queen is a beacon amongst this flock of mindless drones who believe in…goodness.” She said that last word as if took everything she could not to gag. Outside of the room, both Roses reacted to the words of gratitude by their partners. “See?” Roselle said to her counterpart. “Doesn't it feel nice to see them getting along?” The Candy Queen merely crossed her arms in reluctant agreement. “I suppose.” she muttered. They looked back at the bubble.
“I wonder, my dear, if I may trouble you with a question?” Juleficent asked. “About your... transformation. How on earth did you go from a noble to a beast?” The hero took a deep breath. ” Well…allow me to tell you a story. There once was a princess, lusted after by many.” Julebeast took a moment to scowl as she remembered the countless days having to worry if someone would see her either as a person or an object. “One of those idiots happened to be a decently powerful sorcerer. One night, he came to visit the princess, made his move. And, him being a smarmy little asshole, you can imagine how that went for him.” The villain genuinely looked disgusted. “I take it he was a lout.” She responded.
“Yes, so after she politely turned him down and asked him to leave, he continued to push. She turned him down again… I’m guessing you can put the pieces together from there.” The hero laughed bitterly as she finished her story.
“What a vile creature!” Juleficent hissed. “To think such pigs could exist in our worlds.” Julebeast could only stare at her in a shocked silence. “What?” Juleficent said, sounding hurt. “There’s being evil and then there’s being a crude and objectifying bastard.” The villains observing the conversation agreed.
“OFF WITH HIS HEAD!” screamed the Mad King, swinging his dagger at the air. “He'll be swimming with Davy Jones when I'm done with him!” Reshma Hook snarled, pulling out her sword. ”The lord frowns on such petty hubris!” Simon Frollo exclaimed. Kimton just rolled his eyes.  “You guys are freakin’ out over nothing. What’d he do that was so wrong? She’s the one who-” His remark was cut off when a large burlap fist slammed down upon his head. “I hope you ain’t ferget what happened th’ last time I caught ya disrespectin women?” Ivan Oogie growled. The villainous Kim could only mumble gibberish in response, his eyes struggling to focus due to the blow. Everyone turned back to the bubble to view the two Julekas.
“As infuriating as the actions of that fool who dares call himself a mage, Why did you let him get away with it?” Juleficent asked.
“Why do you throw a bitch fit anytime you get snubbed from a party” The hero countered, as Juleficent’s scepte began to glow.
“As previously discussed, it is a sign of disrespect I can not merely stand idly and tolerate. If you do not fear me, you do not respect me!” she said, haughtily. The hero snickered in response.
“You’re right, I do not fear or disrespect you. But I don’t need to keep you off of a RSVP list, I can just say it to your face.”
Juleficent twitched before deciding to go for the kill.
“Just like I can brag to your face that I never had to play Beehtoven on my transformed brother.”
This insult earned a scratch to the face from Julebeast. Before a brawl can start, both Roses burst into the room and hold their Julekas back.
“My licorice, don't let her get to you, she's not worthy!” QRC pleaded, wiping the blood from her girlfriend’s face. “Let's wait until they sleep, then we can kill 'em!”
The Mistress of Evil nodded, before taking a moment to calm herself. "You are right as always, my queen." she admitted. "Why waste the magnificence of my wrath on these fools?"
“Sweetie, I'm here for you, ok? I'm right here.” Roselle said, soothing JuleBeast down.
“I don’t know what it is about her, Petal. She just…” The hero growled in frustration.
“Knows how to get under your skin. Trust me, I know. You were right to not give in to thoughts of revenge. You'd have thrown your life away, and your own family.”
“I know. Thank you, Rose.” Julebeast responded, hugging her girlfriend while glaring at her counterpart. “But I still hope that dragon bitch gets what’s coming to her in the end.”
“Silly girl, everyone knows that whether hero or villain, the beast is always slain.” Juleficent replied, walking off to her besties Mylensula and YzAlya.
It's finally here! Sorry for the long wait, combo of writers block and school got in the way. It's not as big as some of the other confrontations but tempers are still flying high regardless. Once again thank you so much to @msweebyness for helping out with the dialogue and the idea. Make sure to reblog, reply post and ask for more. @artzychic27 @msweebyness

Maybe Kagami redesign? Or Rose?
Hey guys! Sorry for the hiatus (ive been busy with school) but redesigns are back !!
My Issues With Her Design
Tumblr media
first of all, baby who dressed you 😭
girly looks like she threw her hand in her closet and just put on the first thing she pulled out
i hate her shoes so much
that pink hurts my eyes
whats going on with the rope, like what is that
ugh and the bright pink shirt on the bright pink skirt which have different volumes… 🤢
i honestly like her hair so no disrespect there
the pink into the pure white… rose this isnt the 3rd grade where its socially acceptable to dress like this
My Redesign
Tumblr media
I kept her hair because as I said, pixie cuts are dope
I gave her a cute little pink overall dress with a baggy white tshirt to stick with her original color pallet, but more digestable
gave her shoes w/ the same shade and white socks to tie the whole thing together
i also gave her a lot of jewelry because i wanted to add on to her bracelets in her og design
(also she has matching couples bracelets w/ juleka because i said so 😡)
she is a crystal girl, i have comfirmed this because of course i am secretly thomas astruc in disguise /s. so i gave her a crystal necklace.
she has multiple times said to juleka, ‘babe ily but stop hugging me ur touching my crystals and your energy is going to get on them 🥺’
overall i simplified her design because i feel like her personality is something that speaks for itself and her obnoxious outfit kind of takes away from that

Not Exactly a Loophole (but he'll take it)
Luka's got a crush on one of his regulars, but there's just one problem. His mom may not be big on rules, but when it comes to her bar Nanarchy's, the few she has are nonnegotiable--including the rule that employees are not allowed to ask out patrons. With Juleka also pining for a cute customer, Luka's determined to find a loophole...but the universe seems to have its own plans.
Rating: T (mostly for language)
This one is a belated birthday gift, but not for me--for the lovely @mamanabeille! It was meant to be a meet cute featuring EMT Marinette, but bartender Luka kinda stole the spotlight, so it didn’t quite come out like I intended, but I hope you all (and especially MA!) enjoy it anyway!
The bar was nearly empty the first time she walked in, but Luka was sure he would have noticed her in the craziest crowd. She paused in her approach to the bar when she saw him, but when Luka gave her a friendly smile and simply asked what he could get her, she came the rest of the way over and slid onto a stool, ordering her drink in a quiet, hesitant voice, pulling out her wallet..
“I thought Juleka was working tonight,” she said as he took her card and opened a tab for her.
“She will be.” He glanced at the clock. “In about an hour.”
Her eyes widened slightly. “An—“ She frowned, pulling out her phone, and then something seemed to click and she folded her arms, pouting, as he set up to mix her drink. Luka felt like pouting, too, over the fact that Juleka had seen her first. She was really cute.
“They told me the wrong time,” she grumbled. “Because they thought I would be late. Which means I nearly killed myself getting home to change and get back here for nothing .”
“Not for nothing,” Luka said easily. “Juleka’ll be here in an hour. We’re not busy, I don’t mind if you camp out. You look amazing, I’m sure she wouldn’t want to miss you.”
She looked a little confused for a moment, and then her eyes went round and she touched her fingertips to her soft red mouth. “Oh, n-no, I’m not, uh—I mean I don’t um—“
Luka winked at her. “It’s okay, I won’t tell her anything.”
“Rose!” she squeaked, waving her hands so frantically that Luka instinctively slid her drink out of the way. “I’m friends with Rose! She wanted to come while Juleka was working, and I had a—a bad experience at the bar I used to go to, and she said that kind of thing doesn’t happen here, and a bunch of us were supposed to meet up so Rose could fli—TALK! To Juleka and the rest of us could have a drink and hang out in peace but they gave me the wrong time because I’m late for everything, but for once I’m not late and now I’m stuck here with you and—“ She slapped a hand over her mouth and looked so horrified that Luka could only laugh.
“Well, Rose is right, we don’t allow any kind of disrespectful behavior here, my mom’s very strict about it. She values Nanarchy ’s reputation as a safe space and she’s very particular about it. I promise you, being her son wouldn’t excuse me from an ass-kicking if I was inappropriate with you, or stood by while anyone else was, so feel free to hang out and wait for your friends.” He picked up another glass, flipped it in his hand before scooping it full of ice, and then he filled it with water and set it in front of his reluctant customer. “My name’s Luka, just let me know if you need anything.”
He lingered long enough for her to smile tentatively back at him, and then busied himself far enough away from her that she wouldn’t feel crowded, setting up the wells and making sure everything was stocked and topped off before the rush started.
Marinette nursed her drink and pouted, annoyed with her friends for wasting her time this way. Sure, she was always late, but her job was demanding and she wasn’t always in control of when she was able to leave. She couldn’t just ditch Adrien to handle it all, that would be mean. As it was, she’d been late leaving her shift today, and she had scrambled home to get home and get herself presentable and get here in time.
Then she walked in, triumphantly on time and not even in her work clothes, and those losers she called friends weren’t even here! And then she got all confused and tongue-tied and practically preemptively accused the cute bartender of harassment, even though in two minutes of conversation she could tell that he wasn’t anything like that guy that ran Graham’s and—
She groaned quietly and dropped her head on her arms.
Luka didn’t look back at her, but there was a slight quirk of his lips and the tiniest motion of his head in her direction that said he knew she was watching him. He set the two handful of beers he had just picked up on the bar in front of him and dipped a hand in his back pocket, coming out with a bottle opener spinning on one finger. He flicked the caps off the bottles in quick succession and then with another twirl, the bottle opener went back to his pocket like a six-shooter into a cowboy’s holster in some old western. Marinette giggled, and only then did he tilt his head in her direction and wink.
Marinette squeaked and buried her suddenly red face back in her arms. She was pretty sure she heard a low chuckle from down the bar.
Juleka walked in about forty-five minutes later. She took one look at Luka and asked, “What happened?”
“Hmm?” Luka looked up at her from where he was slicing limes.
“That’s the dumbest grin I’ve ever seen on your face,” Juleka commented as she tied her apron on. “And that’s saying a lot. What gives?”
“Nothing,” Luka said, resisting the temptation to squirt her with lime juice. It was too early in the evening to escalate that far. “I’m just in a good mood.”
Juleka’s eyebrows raised. “You’re always in a good mood. You don’t always grin like a dope.” Luka opened his mouth to say something rude when they were both distracted by a surprisingly strong but very feminine voice carrying the length of the bar.
“Luka!” Both of them looked down the bar to the pretty dark-haired lady waving at him (and wincing slightly as she realized how loud she’d been), and Luka’s grin grew wider as he waved a hand to acknowledge her.
“I’ll get it,” Juleka said as he reached for a towel to clean his hands.
Luka took a step back to block her from getting around him. “Oh no you don’t. She’s my customer.”
Juleka blinked at him in surprise and then smirked. “Oh. I see.”
“You see nothing,” Luka told her, tossing the towel at her face as he made a beeline down the bar. “Back off. You can serve their table later, but while she’s at the bar, she’s mine.”
“Never knew you were so possessive,” Juleka muttered, moving the towel aside with two fingers and dropping it into the dirty bin with a gesture of distaste.
“Laugh it up, I’m gonna get you back soon,” Luka called back, and turned to his customer. “Doing all right? What can I get for you?” he asked, smiling as he leaned his hands on the bar in front of her.
“My friends are almost here,” she said, setting her phone on the bar where he could see the message chain. “I was going to go ahead and order for them if that’s okay?”
“Yeah, sure,” Luka said, looking at the list of drinks. When he was sure he had the order, he leaned back and smiled at her. “You can go find a table if you want, I’ll get the drinks ready and have Juleka bring them to you.” He winked, and she giggled.
“That would be perfect. And...thanks, Luka,” she smiled, blushing a little, and he thought his heart was going to burst out of his chest. “My name’s Marinette, by the way. Which...you actually probably knew, because you opened my tab, um...”
“I did,” he grinned, and began setting up glasses on the bar top. “But it’s nice to hear it from you.” Marinette gathered her things slowly; she’d spread out across the bar as she’d waited, with pens and a small notebook and a set of index cards with neat notes scattered across her part of the bar.
Luka pulled his mind to the task, picking up a jigger and flipping it in his hand. Realizing that Marinette was still watching him, he poured some liquor and then gave the jigger a flip around his hand as he made eye contact with Marinette. He had to chuckle when her eyes widened slightly and her face flamed up red. She forgot all about picking up her things as she watched him mix the drinks, and he struggled not to show off too much, amused at her fascination. He quirked an eyebrow at her and she suddenly remembered what she was supposed to be doing, and began picking her things up haphazardly. She reached for a pen, but knocked it with her fingers, sending it spinning off the back of the bar.
“Oh, I’m so sorry—” she exclaimed just as Luka’s hand snapped out and caught it before it could fall to the floor. Fortunately he hadn’t been holding anything liquid at the time, and he hastily picked up the shaker he’d dropped on the bar and set it back upright before handing Marinette her pen back.
“It’s okay,” he said soothingly. “No big, Marinette. Relax.”
She was staring at him, her blue eyes round, and slowly she took the pen back from him. “Thanks,” she whispered, and shrank a little, tucking the last few things in her purse.
“My pleasure,” Luka smiled. “Seriously, Marinette, you’re here to unwind. Don’t sweat the small stuff, okay? No pressure here. Just take your time.” He flipped a shaker up over his shoulder and caught it behind his back, and Marinette put her chin in her fist and pouted again.
“How do you do that?” she asked enviously. “I’m such a klutz when I’m not focusing.”
“Practice,” Luka shrugged. “I’ve been working here since I was old enough to be behind the bar, so. It’s not really anything special, but it makes pretty girls smile, so…” He grinned at her, and then motioned behind her. “Table six is the quietest, over there by the wall. I’ll have the rest of these done in just a minute, and—”
“Marinette!” someone squealed from the door and Luka chuckled.
“—And there’s your friends,” he said, as Marinette turned and waved.
She turned back and gave him a smile that nearly knocked him off his feet. “Thanks a bunch, Luka, really. You’ve been great.”
“Any time,” he barely managed to answer, and had to swallow quickly afterwards. He mixed the rest of the drinks on autopilot, his eyes darting back to Marinette as she and her friends settled at their table. He saw the petite blond with her raise her hand and wiggle her fingers, and a quick glance down the bar showed him Juleka standing as if she had been hit in the back of the head with a board, a faint rosy color tinting her pale cheeks.
Luka grinned and loaded the cocktails on a tray before carrying them down to her. “These are for six,” he told her, and she looked at him stupidly. Luka smirked. “You know that saying about people who live in glass houses?” he grinned, nudging her arm before he headed back to the next customer waving for his attention. “Don’t drop anything,” he called back, and heard Juleka snort.

Girls Night was no longer the trial that it used to be. Marinette loved everything about Nanarcy’s . Their aesthetic was cool and unique, their atmosphere was fun and chaotic in a controlled way, their live music nights were amazing, and they didn’t overpour, so everybody was only as drunk as they wanted to be at the end of the night.
And their bartenders were hot. Rose was head over heels for the quiet, dark-haired Juleka, and Marinette was pretty well smitten by the kind, gentle man with the shaggy hair and the soft eyes, who never seemed to take offense no matter how many times she put her foot in her mouth. She’d never been as early as she had that first day, but she did rush just a little to beat the girls there, so that she could sit and talk to Luka for a bit before the rush hit.
He was just so nice , and easy to talk to, and perceptive, and she always relaxed after a few minutes in his company.
Unfortunately Marinette couldn’t be early all the time, and the girls were already at their table and there was already a crowd at the bar before she arrived.
She stood on her tiptoes, looking over the crowd, and saw Luka about the same time he saw her. He flashed her a broad grin that set butterflies wild in her stomach. She gave him a small wave and then formed her fingers into a d, their sign that she was the designated driver tonight. She saw him nod, and started working her way through the crowd to the bar.
Luka picked up his napkin and did that funny flick with his fingers that sent it spinning onto the bar right in front of her. Marinette really wanted to know how he did that, but his hand moved so fast she couldn’t follow it no matter how many times she watched him. She saw him chuckle at her pout as he flipped a tumbler in his hand, filled it with ice and soda water,  and then set it on the napkin. “Good to see you, Marinette,” was all he had time to say, but his warm, smooth voice still made her melt a little on the inside.
She lingered at the bar for just a moment, watching him joke and banter as he flipped and spun bottles and tumblers and shakers, dropping them to catch behind his back, his movements all smooth and practiced. He’d told her once that what he did wasn’t actually that hard, but it still looked like magic to her. It had surprised her at first; he’d struck her as a quiet, laid-back kind of guy, not someone who enjoyed crowds and attention—but then she’d seen him play with the band one night, and understood. Luka might be quiet on his own, but in front of an audience, he was a performer, and if she’d thought what he did behind the bar was impressive, seeing him on stage with his guitar was, well...breathtaking.
For all that flash, though, it was watching him shake a drink that made her go weak, eyes glued to the lines of his arms and the slight smirk on his face. Marinette picked up her soda and headed back to the girls’ table before she could embarrass herself by swooning on the bar. The girls gave her knowing looks when she arrived, but other than the smirks, they left her mercifully alone about her increasingly obvious crush.
Marinette felt fortunate that Rose was more fun to tease (and safer; Rose didn’t flail and knock over drinks when she got flustered). Rose blushed and denied and then gave herself away by sighing dreamily as she looked at the tall girl behind the bar. Marinette couldn’t help covering a snicker with her hand, though as her gaze followed Rose’s, her traitorous eyes snapped straight to Luka.
He seemed to be in some kind of one-up contest with his sister, the grin on his face positively wicked as he balanced a cocktail on a bar spoon on his forearm—which required to him to keep his arm flexed in a way that made the normally subtle swell of muscles along his arm much more obvious. Marinette groaned and leaned on Rose, who was peeking through her fingertips and trying not to squeal as Juleka rolled her eyes and set up a row of glasses in front of the bar. Twirling a bottle in each hand, Juleka smirked at Luka. Luka was good, but Juleka obviously outmatched him in this context. She was herself beautiful and elegant, with her hair tied back in a thick braid and perfectly done makeup that highlighted her fine bone structure. Her features were a little rounder than Luka’s sharp angles, and she was tall and slender without being as lanky as Luka. The pair of them together were unfairly attractive.
Juleka’s motions at the bar were fluid and graceful, without any wasted movement, and she was fast . She filled the cocktails on the bar in front of her, mixing them up first and then stacking the shakers to pour all four glasses at once. Then she turned to Luka, plucked the glass off of his spoon with a lifted eyebrow, and set it on her tray, swinging it up onto her shoulder. Luka made a laughing gesture that was clearly I surrender , and Juleka smirked as she went around the side of the bar.
“She’s so beautiful,” Rose swooned into Marinette’s side, and Marinette smiled, bumping her shoulder into Rose, who just flopped in the other direction to drape herself over Mylene and sigh some more.  Marinette gave her friend an affectionate look, and then tried to school her expression as Juleka appeared at their table, setting cocktails in front of them with practiced ease and a quiet, “Welcome back,” with a subtle smile. Her eyes, though a different color, were as intense as Luka’s, and Marinette thought they stayed focused on Rose for a beat longer than the others. Then Juleka’s gaze flicked to Marinette’s drink and her eyebrows lifted slightly. “Refill?” she asked.
“No thank you,” Marinette said automatically, and Juleka nodded. Those amber eyes flicked back to Rose as she set the last cocktail down in front of her. “Enjoy,” was all she said, but there was a subtle quirk of a smile to her lips, and Marinette could feel Rose freezing like a deer in the headlights at her side. Then Juleka was gone again, her heavy braid swinging behind her, before Rose could even think of anything to say back.
“Ooh,” Rose moaned, frustrated, grabbing her drink.
“Next time,” Mylene said consolingly, patting Rose’s arm. “It’s busy here tonight. I’m sure she’ll be back when there’s more time to chat.”
That was true, Marinette thought, but still...they’d been coming here for weeks and things didn’t seem to be going anywhere. She’d thought Juleka was interested but maybe…
“You know what, I’ve changed my mind,” she said, picking up her glass and sliding out of her seat. “I think I do want a refill.”
“It just tastes better when Luka serves it,” Alix snickered, and Marinette pretended not to hear her as she made her way to the bar. She needed some answers, and maybe it was time to try the direct approach.
Luka was hopeless, he knew, watching Marinette’s table out of the corner of his eye even as he teased Juleka. He didn’t care if it made sense or not; he was crazy into the girl, and her mere presence made him feel more alive.
Juleka snatched his cocktail and Luka had to move quickly to catch the bar spoon and dump it in the bin. He waved Juleka off with a laugh and glanced back at the table again where Marinette was consoling her little blond friend, who was clearly suffering after Juleka’s display. That only made him grin wider.
Luka allowed himself one lovesick sigh. Marinette was so beautiful, and he loved the way she put so much individuality into the way she dressed, and the contours of the muscles in her arms as she waved them about, talking with her hands. She was funny, and she was sweet, and she was smart , and every time she came in he entertained fantasies of quitting on the spot, confessing his love, and running off with Marinette in the rain (he wasn’t sure why it was always raining in his fantasies, but it seemed to fit her for some reason). His mom would probably forgive him. Eventually.
Juleka would kill him though, and besides, he liked his job and he got to see Marinette almost every week. And...maybe he was a little bit chicken. Just a tiny bit. There was every chance that instead of falling into his arms and agreeing to run away with him, Marinette would be startled and freaked out and run away without him, and then he’d be out of a job with a broken heart in the bargain. Just because she liked joking around with him, and watching him (because he definitely didn’t miss her eyes on him, with as often as his were on her), didn’t mean she was interested in the reality of dating him—especially if he were suddenly jobless.
So the fantasies would stay just that for now.
Ugh, sometimes he really wanted to...hug his mother in a bone-crushing but loving way and tell her that for someone so hung up on freedom, her rules were a righteous pain in his ass.
That would probably get him fired too. If you fire me, I’ll have to come live back at home with you , he mentally argued with his imaginary mother, but it didn’t work any better in his imagination than it would have in real life.
Unfortunately Juleka didn’t seem to be having any better luck than he did. Luka had a half-formed plan to call in a favor so he could get Juleka cut early, so that she could run into Rose on her way out and get around Anarka’s rules that way, when he was startled out of his thoughts by someone calling his name.
Luka was moving down the bar to smile at Marinette before he’d even fully processed that she was calling him, but the crease between her brows made him hesitate slightly.
“Juleka didn’t get you a refill?” he asked, but Marinette shook her head.
“I told her I didn’t need one, and then I changed my mind.” She set her glass on the table and nudged it towards him. “Also...well, I want to ask you something.” She shifted uncomfortably, and Luka swallowed as if that would keep the sudden butterflies in his stomach confined there.
“Anything,” he said glibly, with a smile that showed no trace of his nervousness. “What’s on your mind?”
“Well, it’s just...do you think…” She glanced up at him shyly, and looked down, cheeks pinking.
Luka leaned his elbows on the counter and lowered his head, cocking it slightly to show he was listening. His fingers laced together and squeezed tight in front of him.
“Does Juleka like Rose?” Marinette asked, glancing nervously back at their table.
Luka blinked. “Ah…”
“Before you answer,” Marinette said quickly, turning back to him. “It’s just that Rose really, really likes Juleka, but Juleka hasn’t...well she does flirt some, but Rose isn’t sure, and...I just don’t want to be encouraging her to pursue something hopeless, so I’d really appreciate it if you’d tell me now if Juleka’s not interested in her. I won’t say anything to Rose, not directly, I just...if it’s not going to happen, I can maybe get her to—”
“It’s not hopeless,” Luka interrupted, trying not to laugh, though whether at his own stupidity or Rose and Juleka’s, he wasn’t sure. “It’s definitely not hopeless. The only thing hopeless is my poor little sister.”
“Oh,” Marinette breathed, and then smiled. “Okay then. I’ll tell Rose not to give up?”
“Definitely not,” Luka confirmed, straightening. “But we’re not allowed to ask out customers, so she’s either got to catch Juleka on off hours or make the first move herself. Mom’s a real stickler about it. I’d get in less trouble for being high on the job than hitting on a customer.”
“Oh,” Marinette’s eyes widened slightly. “Oh, I see. I...I guess that makes sense. And Rose hasn’t wanted to be creepy if Juleka was just…” She blushed, surprisingly intensely. “You know, being nice because it’s her job.”
Luka snorted. “Juleka’s not nice.”
Something hit the back of his head and Luka straightened to find Juleka glaring at him. “What are you saying about me, jerk?” she demanded, and Luka rolled his eyes, looking back at Marinette.
“See?” he grinned.
“Shut up and move,” Juleka grunted, shoving his arm until he stepped aside for her to get by.
“Someone’s in a mood,” he called after her, and she turned her back to the bar and flipped him off where only he could see.
“Rude,” he chuckled, and focused back on Marinette. “Look, I can’t speak for her, but as her brother...I don’t think your friend has anything to worry about, yeah?”
Marinette gave him a dazzling smile. “Thanks Luka. I really appreciate it.”
“Anything for you,” he grinned automatically.
“Send us another round for the table when you get a chance?”
“Sure. I’ll have Jules drop it off.” He winked at her, and her smile got even brighter.
“Perfect.” She gave a happy little bounce before she hopped off the stool and went back to the table. Luka watched her go, and saw her look back at him over her shoulder. He sighed.
“Dumbass,” he said to himself, shaking his head as he turned away to get their drinks ready.
Well, at least Juleka would be happy. If Rose still felt weird about asking her out, he could still try and get Juleka cut early the next weekend. Victor was always asking for more hours, surely he’d do Luka a favor if it meant weekend night tips…
Not that that helped Luka any. He looked back towards Marinette’s table and sighed.
Well, he’d get his own chance eventually—or he’d make one, if he had to.

“I’m missing girl’s night,” Marinette huffed, throwing herself behind the wheel. She was missing seeing Luka, she thought petulantly. Her one night a week to see him and she was missing it because Adrien had said something stupid to the person resonsible for their schedules, and she was his partner, so she was guilty by association.
“I said I was sorry,” Adrien sighed, hauling himself up into the passenger side of the ambulance.”
“Say it again,” Marinette grumbled.
Adrien groaned, slumping into his seat. “I promise that I have never in my life been more sorry than I am at this moment, facing this whole shift with you in this mood.”
Marinette glared at him, but the radio called their attention.
Their first few calls were simple enough, but the next one made Marinette suck in her breath sharply.
“What?” Adrien asked, looking at her.
“That’s my girls’ night bar,” Marinette breathed. “26-year-old male…it could be Luka...”
Adrien raised an eyebrow at her. “You want to pass it on?” he asked, not unkindly.
Marinette shook her head. “Nobody else is even close. Let’s go, but you take lead if it’s—if it’s someone I know.”
“It’s probably not,” Adrien reassured her, flipping on the lights and sirens.
Marinette made a noncommittal noise, trying to ignore the cold weight that had settled in the pit of her stomach. Adrien put his hand on her shoulder and squeezed—and then braced himself as Marinette pulled out into traffic.
When they walked into the bar, they had to shove their way through the crowd that had formed in a ring being kept back by a man and a woman wearing shirts that identified them as security.
“Marinette!” Rose cried, waving at her with one hand, and for an instant, Marinette froze.
Luka was sitting in a chair, looking dazed. He kept trying to get up, but Juleka shoved him back down with one hand. Rose was pressing a blood-stained towel to his head.
“Oh no,” Marinette murmured. Adrien squeezed her arm, and then moved past her, his stride purposeful. Marinette pulled herself together and followed, pressing her lips together. This was her job, after all, and she was good at it. It was just another call, and Luka would be fine.
Luka was confused as hell, and his brain didn’t quite feel connected to his body. He was vaguely aware that his head hurt, but he couldn’t seem to make sense of what was going on. He’d woken up on the floor, and then he’d nearly fallen when he tried to stand, and Juleka had shoved him into a chair and fluttered over him, alternately swearing at him and sounding at the edge of tears, and Luka still had no idea what was going on.
“What happened?” he asked.
“You’re a fucking idiot, that’s what happened,” snapped Juleka. “We have bouncers for a reason , dumbass.”
“Bouncers?” Luka asked, bewildered. He blinked, trying to focus and clear the fog from his mind. The room didn’t seem to want to be still. It wasn’t spinning, exactly, just tilted to the left slightly. A flash of white crossed his vision and he focused on it for a moment, and then blinked again, still confused and sure he couldn’t be seeing what he was seeing. “Marinette?”
“Hey, Luka,” she smiled, leaning over him.
Luka grinned. “Hi.” Then he frowned. “Thought you were working tonight.”
“I am working,” Marinette said gently, pulling something out of her breast pocket, and Luka vaguely registered that the white he had seen was some kind of uniform shirt. Then he jumped slightly and blinked as she shone a light in his eyes. “He lost consciousness?” she asked, but then Luka was distracted from Marinette as someone else took his arm. He blinked down at a blond man that had knelt next to his chair and was pulling... stuff out of a bag beside him.
“Yes,” Rose confirmed from somewhere behind him.
“Luka, was it?” the blond man asked. “I’m Adrien. What’s the last thing you remember?”
“Kentucky sunrise,” Luka muttered. “Told Jules to keep an eye on the guy, he seemed shady.”
“He was shady,” Juleka said, fingers squeezing on his shoulder. “He got nasty and I told him to leave, and he grabbed me, and then this idiot jumped the bar to come get involved and—it’s kind of a blur after that, but he got Luka in the head with a glass or a bottle or something.”
“Where’s the guy now?” Marinette asked.
“Ivan’s got him in the back, waiting for the cops.”
Luka tried to follow the conversation, but he couldn’t seem to concentrate for very long. Adrien started asking him questions, and Luka’s world greyed out a bit as he tried to focus enough to give the right answer. They seemed like really dumb questions, and Adrien kept touching Luka’s head where it hurt. Luka tried to push his hands away, but Marinette caught Luka’s hand and squeezed it tight. Luka looked back at her, focusing on the cool blue of her eyes. She asked him something, but he didn’t quite catch it.
Fuck, he was tired. He just wanted to get somewhere quiet and dark and less peopled and go to sleep.
Marinette’s hand on his cheek brought him back to reality a bit. She was frowning. “Luka, do you feel sick?”
“No,” Luka sighed, eyes fluttering closed. “Just tired.”
“Luka,” Marinette said sharply, and he opened his eyes again. “Don’t go to sleep, okay?”
Luka whined, but tried to keep his eyes open. He leaned his head on Juleka’s stomach, and felt her hand stroke gently through his hair. He must really be messed up, he thought with mild amusement, for Jules to be that gentle.
“I think we better take him in for evaluation,” Marinette said to...someone. “He’s definitely got a concussion, and that head lac needs stitches.”
“Agreed,” said Adrien, and Luka began to lose the battle to stay awake. “Come on, stay with us.” Someone squeezed Luka’s arm, and Luka struggled to open his eyes again.
Luka lost track of what was going on after that, moving mechanically when someone asked him to and just trying to stay awake. The only thing he really registered was Marinette leaning over him in the back of the ambulance, stroking his hair back from his face and looking at him with such softness that his breath caught even through his fog. “I’ll drive,” she said. “Take care of him for me.”
Luka was confused until Marinette disappeared from his side and Adrien settled in next to him instead, a faintly amused look on his face. “She must really like you,” Adrien commented under his breath. “She hates to give up the action and drive.”
Luka smiled weakly.
***
The hospital was a confused sequence of waiting rooms and big noisy machines, but as they sat through it all, Luka began to regain some focus and clarity, and by the time they came to tell him that he was fine, he pretty much was, aside from the throbbing in his head where they’d stitched the wound closed and the anesthetic was wearing off.
“We’re going to keep you the rest of the night for observation,” the ER doctor told him, “But unless there’s any sudden changes, you should be good to go tomorrow. Just take it easy for the next few days.”
Luka didn’t bother to argue since the night was mostly gone anyway. All he really cared about was getting to a bed, now that they had cleared him to sleep.
When he woke up in the morning, Juleka was sitting next to his bed.
“Hey, dummy,” she said, when he turned his head to look at her.
“Hey,” he sighed. “Can I go home yet?”
Juleka snorted. “Knowing hospitals, it’ll take all day just to fill out the paperwork to get you out of here.
Luka made a face. “Probably true, actually.” He sighed and laid his head back, lolling it over to look at her. “Tell me you at least got a date out of it.”
Juleka blushed, and dropped her gaze, a smile twitching at the corners of her mouth. “She’s a nurse at this hospital, do you know?” Juleka mumbled, fiddling with her fingers. “She stayed with me the whole time they had you doing all those tests. We’re...having dinner tonight when she gets off work.”
“Awesome,” Luka grinned, grabbing her hand and squeezing it.
Juleka took a moment to collect herself, and then she lifted her head and grinned at him. “Now it’s your turn.”
“God I wanna marry that girl,” Luka groaned, smiling dreamily. “Gorgeous and smart and funny and a badass. This is it. I’m totally gone for her, Jules.”
Luka didn’t need to see Juleka’s smirk, he could hear it in her voice. “What else is new?” she snorted.
Another memory surfaced and he grimaced. “I’m not sure puking all over her partner in the back of her ambulance made the kind of impression I was hoping for.”
“Don’t worry,” a male voice chuckled. “You’re not the first, and I’m sure you won’t be the last.”
Luka and Juleka both looked towards the door. Marinette and her golden-haired partner were standing there in clean uniforms. Luka felt a sudden flutter in his stomach. The EMT uniform didn’t do much for her, compared to her usual perfectly tailored clothes, but...she looked strong and confident and in charge, and it was definitely doing things for him. Her hair was tied back and pinned up, but that just made her beautiful eyes more prominent, and the same smile tilted her sweet lips.
He suddenly remembered what he and Jules had been talking about. Oh God, did she hear him? Luka swallowed nervously.
Marinette gave him a little wave, her shoulders hunched slightly. “I hope you don’t mind that we stopped by,” she said shyly. “I— We just wanted to see how you were doing.”
Adrien grinned broadly, clearly amused, and Juleka began to snicker. She leaned over and whispered to Luka, “Your heart monitor’s going crazy, dumbass.” Then she kissed his forehead. “Call me when they’re ready to let you out of here.” She walked away from the bed, and Luka realized too late that she was planning to leave him there with Marinette.
He registered about that time that the monitor behind him was indeed beeping frantically and felt himself flush. He fiddled with the clip on his finger, but if he took it off the nurses would come charging in, so he took some deep breaths, trying to get himself under control as Juleka stopped to exchange a quiet word and a hug with Marinette, with a quick handshake for Adrien.
Adrien and Marinette approached the bed and Luka reached up self-consciously to smooth his hair before remembering the bandage on his head. He extended his hand towards Adrien instead.
“Hey, man, I really am sorry for throwing up all over you,” Luka told Adrien. “I swear, I didn’t know it was coming.”
Adrien smiled ruefully as he shook Luka’s hand. “I’m used to it. Sometimes I think I have a target on my chest.”
“Serves you right for always wearing such expensive shoes,” Marinette huffed.
“They’re comfy!” Adrien protested.
Luka chuckled and looked at Marinette, taking in the uniform and trying to recalibrate his mental image of her to include this new information. It wasn’t as hard as it seemed like it should have been; she’d always had that something about her that said she could do anything, and she was certainly fit enough to be hauling people around, and the impulse to help people fit in with her sweet nature.
He really hadn’t thought he could fall any harder, but looking at her now—staring at her, he realized abruptly—he accepted that this hole was a lot deeper than he’d realized.
Marinette leaned over the side of his bed and reached toward his hair. “May I?” she asked, and at Luka’s nod, she parted his hair to peek under his bandage at the stitches. She was close enough that Luka could smell the faintest hint of sweet vanilla even past all the medical smells. The monitor began to beep warningly again and Luka thought he saw the corner of her mouth twitch. Her fingers skimmed his cheek as she lowered her hands. “It looks good. You probably won’t even notice it with your hair covering it.”
“Thanks,” Luka said stupidly, not really sure how one was supposed to react to a compliment on how well one’s head was sewn back together.
“How do you feel?” she asked, straightening a little.
“Not too bad,” Luka shrugged. “Still have a headache, but it’s much better.”
Marinette frowned. “What are they giving you for pain?” She looked at the board in his room without waiting for him to answer, and gave a slight sigh. “Well, that should fade soon, hopefully. As long as your imaging came back normal—” Luka nodded. “—it should just be a question of paperwork.” She laid her hand over his and squeezed. “You should be back behind the bar in no time. No more fights though, okay? You scared me, when we got the call for your address.”
“Sorry.” Luka gave her a lopsided smile. “Can’t say I wasn’t wishing to see you, but that wasn’t what I had in mind.”
Marinette giggled, her eyes darting away and her teeth catching her lip for a moment before she looked back at him, a bright smile slowly growing across her face. For a moment they just stared at each other. Adrien raised his eyebrows and put his hands in his pockets, wandering back across the room.
Luka barely noticed. Marinette was looking at him and he had never seen her eyes so soft before. Except—except that one moment when she’d been leaning over him on the gurney, and she’d promised him he was going to be okay, and then she’d looked up at Adrien and said take care of him for me…
He was so transfixed by her eyes that he didn’t react to her leaning over the bed until he felt her hand on his chest and her breath on his face, and then he only had time to gasp and close his eyes as her lips found and caressed his in a soft and tender kiss. He leaned into it as much as he dared, and managed to move his mouth to kiss her back, electric thrills moving through him.
He followed her when she pulled back, and opened his eyes to stare at her in wonder as her lips left his.
“I’m dying,” he said flatly. “I’m dying and no one wants to tell me, is that it?”
Marinette giggled. “No more than everyone else.” Then she actually blushed and looked down. “I’ve maybe been thinking about doing that for a while now.” She glanced up through her lashes and a truly wicked smile slowly spread. “And trust me, when you actually are going to die, you’ll know it.”
Luka’s attempt at a reply became a strangled noise at the back of his throat.
There was a quiet cough from the other side of the room, where Adrien was turning red attempting to hold in his laughter. “I’m getting the feeling you didn’t actually need a wingman here,” he said.
“Take a walk, Adrien,” Marinette said in a warning tone, and leaned in to kiss Luka again. Luka moved to meet her, lips parting eagerly as he buried the hand not covered in wires in her hair, only vaguely aware of Adrien’s gusty sigh and the sound of the door opening and closing, or the rapidly accelerating beep of his heart rate monitor again.
Somewhere in the haze Luka realized he wasn’t on shift, and anyway Marinette had kissed him first, and Anarka’s rules didn’t matter anymore.
“Hey,” he mumbled in between kisses. “Want to—mm—get coffee sometime? After they let me out of here.”
“I’d love to,” Marinette sighed, and kissed him again. She giggled. “You should have told me about that stupid rule sooner. All this time, I’ve been waiting for you to make a move.” She pulled back and blinked for a moment, and bit her lip. “Um. I should probably tell you that I told my boss you’re my boyfriend.” She shrugged. “If I start dating you after you’ve been my patient, it’s weird, but if we were dating before that, then it’s just unfortunate coincidence, so…”
“I’m cool with that,” Luka said quickly. “Very cool.” They grinned like fools at each other for a moment, and then moved to kiss again.
They were interrupted by a knock on the door, and a nurse poked her head in. “Mr. Couffaine? We’ve been getting an alarm from your monitor—” She paused, taking in Marinette’s wrecked hair and two blushing faces. “Oh.”
Marinette giggled, hiding her face in his shoulder, and Luka groaned. “How much do I need to bribe you to turn that damn thing off for the next f—” he glanced at Marinette. “Ten minutes?”
The nurse rolled her eyes, but winked at them. “Just remember you’re supposed to be taking it easy,” she admonished, crossing the room and unplugging the monitor from the wall. “If anyone asks, you’re in the bathroom.”
“Yes ma’am,” Luka grinned as the nurse shut the door behind her, pulling Marinette back in.

Making Amends - Clubs - Prompt 15, Chapter 13
@felixmonth
Short warning: There will be cursing/swearing in this chapter. Although I personally don't get the problem (where I'm from your vocabulary is seriously lacking if you don't curse and this is one thing I really notice that I'm not writing in my native language - my curse vocabulary isn't as big as I'm used to XD), but I know that some people don't like it. So ... now you've been warned^^
Summary: For Felix Month 2021 - beware, the chapters are not in chronological order^^
When Felix loses a bet with his cousin, he has to make amends with Adrien’s friends. Well, at least this provides a good excuse to spent a lot of time with Adrien’s “very good friend”, a certain designer, who may or may not be described as tolerable … or cute. This may not be so bad. Yeah, not bad at all.

Felix thought of himself as quite an observant person. He usually noticed things about his environment and the people around him a lot sooner than others did. Sometimes it came in handy, like that time he blackmailed an investor into not pulling out of a movie project his parents were enthusiastic about. He knew about his affair and the prenup that said he would be left penniless if his wife ever learnt about his scandalous little secret. And he had learnt all of that by being observant. And by having a pretty good memory.
Sometimes it was tragic. He had noticed his father’s declining health sooner than anyone else. He had mentioned going to the doctor to him, but his father had reassured him that he was feeling fine and he was worried for nothing. In the dark of the night when he couldn’t sleep he still wondered whether his father might still be with them if he had just been more adamant about going to visit a doctor.
Today this particular skill proved to be more of a hassle than anything else. After all the uproar since the incident as he had started to call it, whispering and glances were hardly uncommon. He had expected them.
But today was just … different. The object of his classmates’ attention had changed and he had this disquieting hunch that all the whispering and the glances were directed at him. At Marinette and him more precisely. And he didn’t like it.
“Hey, Fe-man!” a cheerful voice chimed next to him. Ah, Kim would be the one to start whatever the class was conspiring to do. Although he had to object to that nickname. He didn’t like nicknames anyway, but Fe-man seemed like an especially unfortunate choice.
“Hey … K-man,” he greeted, testing the nickname on his lips. Nope! Definitely not his style. He didn’t call people by nicknames and he was not about to change that. After all, he still insisted on calling Marinette Marinette instead of Mari, although she had offered him to do so repeatedly. At least when they weren’t at some official event. To him it just felt wrong to use nicknames. The only thing he did that came close, was to invent new insulting names for his uncle. But up until now Garbage-riel was still his favourite.
Kim winced a bit. “Yeah, man, sorry. I thought it would sound better.” He gave him a comradely pat on the back. Knowing that he didn’t mean any harm Felix opted to ignore the blatant disrespect of his personal space. It was … fine. Kim’s actions were innocent, he didn’t mean anything by it and he didn’t know why Felix would prefer some space.
He felt like he was actually doing pretty well with his mission. He had made amends with Nino, Alya, Marinette, Juleka, Rose, Ivan and - weirdly enough - Rossi. Although it probably wasn’t in the way she or Adrien thought it would be. Still, he didn’t want to destroy his progress by snarking at Kim.
“Sooo, we were thinking,” the athlete continued. Apparently the class had sent him to talk to him. This meant that they either felt awkward about asking Marinette or they didn’t want to wait for her to return from running an errand. Even with his help she was practically constantly running around and taking care of everything. Some of these things indeed had to be done by her, like fighting akumas or actually designing. But not everything. Right now for example she was busy, because she had to get a special order from her fabric shop. The problem was that she often decided he had other things to do, so she would do it. More help would definitely be appreciated.
“-and then we could- Hey, are you even listening?” Felix blinked as he tuned back in and turned to Kim. Oops.
“Ah, I might have been distracted for a second. My deepest apologies. Could you repeat what you said, please?”
Kim wasn’t offended that he didn’t pay attention. “Man, quit it with the formal talk, I’m just your classmate not some stuck-up richie,” he snorted amused. “I was saying that you have been with us for some time now and we still haven’t properly welcomed you! So, we, the class, have been talking: We’ll ask Mari to organise a picnic for the class. And since you haven’t joined any clubs, we will show you the different clubs, so you can try them out, maybe over the course of a week and at the end of the week we could have the picnic. So, what do you say?”
Felix didn’t react at all for a moment. He was too busy making sense of his words. A picnic? Asking Marinette to plan a picnic? Just because they had a new classmate? He couldn’t have heard right! Kim couldn’t have said what he thought he heard.
“You want Marinette to plan a picnic?” he asked slowly. Unfortunately Kim grinned and nodded enthusiastically. He opened his mouth to say something, he probably wanted to paint a picture of what he imagined this picnic or his week trying out the clubs would look like, but Felix didn’t give him a chance to utter anything. “And the whole class was just … fine with that plan?”
The boy frowned. Maybe his tense tone gave him a hint that maybe he wasn’t quite as on board. “Yeah, we all thought it was a good idea. Hey, guys, you like the idea of the week of club activities and a class picnic on Friday, don’t ‘ya?”
His other classmates came closer, all excited smiles and chatter and usually he wouldn’t mind that much. Sure, he was slightly irritated by the never-ending hyperactive energy that seemed to course through the class, but every other time he endured it and practised himself in a lesson of patience. But right now he felt like he couldn’t do that, because he knew where this excitement came from. It was rooted in the fact that Marinette had never told them “No” and now they just expected her to cater to their whims.
No, maybe that wasn’t quite right. She never told them “No”, this much was obvious, but after everything he knew about his classmates, it probably wasn’t malicious carelessness, more a mixture of naivety, ignorance and blinding exuberance.
They don’t bear any ill will, he told himself, trying to calm himself down. A fruitless endeavour, as someone mentioned food and immediately the entire class chimed in, listing all the things they wanted Marinette to bring from the bakery for the picnic.
“Are you people bloody serious?” he finally exploded. Something none of them had seen coming, seeing as they all stared at him with wide fearful eyes. “Marinette is out there, ripping herself apart just so you insatiable little pricks can graduate and meet your idols before you all go separate ways and what do you do? You’re adding to her workload like some entitled brats and want her to plan some bloody picnic nobody’s asked for? Because some random kid happens to join your class? No! I don't even want to join any clubs, because I'll be done with this bloody school in just a few more weeks. Maybe you ingrates should think about starting a new club! The Let's help the one person who works her arse off for us all the fucking time and do something for our own bloody group project-Club? I will not have you add any more to Marinette's already too full plate! Absolutely not! I won't allow you to -!”
Something zipped by his face and he stopped abruptly. Had he …? The object zipped back and he followed it to a red clad figure with black spots, releasing a white butterfly from her yo-yo.
A grim realisation sat in. That was Ladybug and the white butterfly fluttering up into the open air was an akuma the heroine had just rendered harmless. A heroine that was, as he was very well aware, Marinette, something only they knew. He had almost been akumatized and that meant, he had almost given Hawk Moth the opportunity to learn Ladybug's identity.
That thought made him so sick he had to sit back down. He had barely noticed that he had stood up in his angry tirade.
“Is everything okay?” he heard the heroine hesitantly ask. She tried to seem casual as if she didn’t have any personal relationship with all of them. But knowing it was Marinette, he recognised the worried undertone in her voice.
“Yes, everything is fine. I just got a bit carried away, you don’t have to worry, Miss Ladybug. Thank you for stopping this before it was too late. And, I’m sorry to inconvenience you,” Felix apologised, still trying to get his bearings.
“It’s Hawk Moth’s fault for taking advantage of your emotions. It’s perfectly normal to get angry. I don’t blame you,” she answered with a small smile. She gave them all a small nod and a wave and zipped away again.
For a moment they were all silent, then Felix sighed and relaxed his tense shoulders. “I’m sorry. I didn’t really mean what I said. I was just so … enraged about the way you just expect Marinette to do all this for you. She is already doing so much and it just seems like it will never be enough. Like you don’t appreciate what she’s already doing. I try to manage her schedule and it has become a bit better, but that’s exactly why I know better than most of you how packed her schedule is. And before I sort of forced her into allowing me to do that she- I found her-”
Noticing his hands tremble slightly, Felix buried the memory of how he had found Marinette that evening a few weeks ago. It was still scary and he just couldn’t find the right words to make them understand how terrified he had been when he found her. It was just an invitation for Hawk Moth to try again and he now knew that the maniac was looking for some poor soul to exploit.
So he just shook his head to signal his loss of words.
“But, she’s our class president. That’s part of the job and she never complained,” Rose chimed up. The short blonde looked around confused. “Why wouldn’t she tell us if it’s too much?”
“Because that's Mari for you. She just can’t say ‘No’, especially not to people she loves,” Alya finally said with a groan as if she just now realised something.
“And she does love us,” Nino agreed with emphasis. He had taken off his cap to nervously fiddle with it.
"Then, maybe we-" Juleka started, but when everyone looked at her, she turned away and at least Felix couldn't understand her mumbling. Judging by the looks of his classmates, he wasn't the only one. Only Rose, who stood right next to the girl, seemed to understand, since she brightened almost immediately.
"That's a wonderful idea, Juls!" she exclaimed and turned to the class. "Juleka said that maybe we could do what Felix said. The helping Mari part, I mean," she continued to explain after noticing the expectant gazes of the class.
His classmates shuffled a bit and looked at each other. It was so obvious that they didn't know what they could do, even though they all seemed fine with the idea of helping.
"Yes, that's exactly what we will do!" Alya finally decided and pulled out her tablet to open the app she took notes with. "We will have to define different tasks each of us could do - other than showing up and looking stunning I mean. Something we could do to support Mari." She turned around to look at him. "You might know best what we could do. We obviously can't design or sew for Mari, but I'm sure, there's still more than enough we could help her with."
Being speechless was a rare occurrence for Felix. One he didn't particularly care for, considering how it usually happened due to other people's stupidity. But this time he was speechless, because he was so surprised and genuinely moved by his peers' willingness to change their behaviour.
Maybe, when he made that bet with Adrien, he had been wrong. These were nice people. A bit naive, gullible and maybe foolish or rather a bit silly and goofy, but undoubtedly good at their heart. In their own way at least.
A plan started to form in his mind and he slowly nodded. “Yeah, I think, I have an idea. I’ll need your help, because you know each other’s abilities better than I do, but I think I’ve got something for everyone.” He signed Alya to sit down next to him and looked at what she already had. It was a list of their classmates and some names had tasks with question marks behind them.
“Okay, we all have something to be auctioned off in the silent auction, and Marinette provides the costumes and right now she takes care of almost all the organisation. But I hope she’s willing to let go of some of that responsibility if she sees we’re all carrying a fair share of the burden without it being too much. She’s afraid you’d be overwhelmed, that’s why she’s always trying to do things on her own. If we let her, she would tackle all the world’s problems on her own,” the last part was more of a fondly annoyed grumble than an actual complaint.
“Yeah, my girl has some serious saviour complex. She’s our white knight on a fiery steed ready to slay the dragon and save the day,” Alya laughed. “She was more than once the noble knight for our sunshine in distress here, after all.”
Felix noticed how his cousin blushed and looked like he wanted to protest. He had already opened his mouth when he winced and scowled down at the floor.
“Well, she’s our Everyday Ladybug!” he finally announced and the class agreed.
“Well, just pretend she’s the actual Ladybug. Treat her, like you would want the real Ladybug’s friends to treat her, if you give her a title like this,” Felix declared and gave everyone of his classmates a look. “Okay, so, we will need some entertainment, since the auction is silent. Rose, Juleka, Adrien, Ivan, do you think you could convince Luka to play as well? Maybe you could also organise some instruments to be there, there might be some guest who would love to have an impromptu jam session. Nino, you could be one of the co-moderators and create a playlist for the times when no one is playing an instrument. I’ll send you a list with the known likes and dislikes of our guests, try to find a good mix. And make sure, we have the rights to play the music. I’ll send you some official templates for emails and mail. They might be swayed easier if they see we partnered up with a big charity. Obviously we will announce who allowed us to publicly play their music, should they ask. If they want a contract or you have any other questions, feel free to ask me.”
Nino nodded slowly. “That seems like something I can do, just … could I maybe not be moderator? I, I really don’t want to be in the spotlight like that. I guess Mari will be the other moderator? I think you should be her co-moderator then. You two are a great team. Everyone can see that. You complement each other. Like now. Mari would protect each one of us, but my dudette has practically zero sense to put herself first for even a second. You made sure we heard what we needed to hear. Even if it wasn’t pretty.”
It’s never pretty, Felix thought, but nodded. He was involved in everything anyway, since he concentrated on the general organisation, so, why shouldn’t he moderate as well? He put it down and looked up again. Huh, he could swear Adrien had been here a second ago! Where did he go? Anyway, he already had a job at the event.
“Right now Marinette is away. She ordered some fabrics and some of them arrived at the fabric shop. She will need loads of materials, not just fabrics. It would be a great help if she could send someone to get them. Kim, you’re a strong guy, maybe you could take care of that?”
Kim grinned and posed to show off his muscles. Felix just rolled his eyes with a huff and put Kim for running errands down. As he looked back up this time he noticed how Max shook his head in fond exasperation at his friend. That gave him another idea.
“Max, Markov, maybe you could be our tech support. Make sure everything works as far as that goes. You will have to work very closely with Mari, me and the people in charge of advertisement. Which would be next: Rossi, now that you actually have your five minutes of fame, use them for something good for once. And no, you don’t need to thank me for that. It was my pleasure.”
He sent the italian a smirk with barely hidden triumph and very well hidden maliciousness.
“And since this is so important, it would be unfair to put all of this only on you, so, Alya, you two will be our public relations team together. Did Marinette talk to you about the contest idea she had? She thought we could make a contest before our event and a few invites could be the prize, but these are details, we’ll talk about this later. The idea was basically that people would have to pay a small fee for the contest - which would go to the charity as well - and send in a video or something showcasing their talents or why they should win. The best entries win an invite and the videos could be showcased as well. And this is where you would come in, Sabrina.”
“M-me?”
“Yeah, you. You’ve managed Chloe’s schedule for years, you could be in charge of the program. What happens at what time, you know? That’s important. Sorry, Chloe, but your minion might need to spend more time with other people.”
The blonde just huffed and turned away.
“But I have another important job for you, too. We, well, Marinette’s family’s business, can provide the catering, but finding a location this late might be tricky. As the daughter of a hotel owner you might know someone who knows someone. You get what I mean?”
The blonde gave no reaction, she just turned away more. Well, he would take care of this later. When there wouldn’t be any witnesses.
“What should I do?”
He turned to the skater, Alix. He thought about what he knew about her. She had been one option for running errands since she was pretty fast with her skates, but Kim was stronger and would have an easier time carrying heavy materials. But, if he remembered correctly, she was the daughter of a historian who works at the Louvre. Oh, he actually had the perfect job for her!
“You’re in charge of research,” he announced and put it down on the list.
“Huh?”
“Not like scientific research, not really. Marinette needs some reference material for some of the costumes. I’ll ask her what specifically she needs and give you that information.” Felix was pretty sure with her connections she would be able to use the library of the Louvre. They should make use of that.
“Okay, yeah, sure, just, where should I find something like that? I mean, I don’t think Google will give me other results than her.”
He might need to help her, if this was her only idea. Well, that wasn’t the worst. He hadn’t done something nice for her yet and he could think of something worse than spending a day at the library with her. Most things were worse than spending a day at a library.
“I’ll help you,” he promised. “I haven’t helped you, yet, anyway, so it’s a good opportunity.” Felix looked down at the list of his classmates again. This left …
“Nathaniel, could you create decorations and design anything not fashion-related for the event?”
The boy was easy to see with his bright red hair, so he could see him nodding instantly.
“Well, now there’s only Mylene left. Mylene, you have helped with smaller charities before, I think? Maybe you could just help out where help might be needed,” Alya suggested.
“That sounds like a good idea.” Felix commended with an encouraging smile. “Maybe this means doing some phone calls, maybe you will have to be in charge of deciding where the buffet and the stage and the dance floor will be in the layout of the location. As soon as Chloe provides you with that information. Think you can do that?”
The shy girl nodded and gave him a little smile.
They all were interrupted by an inhuman shriek. Felix turned around and looked at Alya in open bewilderment. Alya, who had saved the document with all of their tasks and then pulled her phone out to check her notifications.
“There has been an akuma attack and I wasn’t there to get footage!” she lamented and leaned against her boyfriend when he sat down next to her to pat her on the back.
