Two Days - Jubal Valentine x Reader

It starts with a kiss, a simple brush of the lips during an undercover operation.

A way of solidifying your cover as his favourite girl so that the johns keep their hands off you. You may be attending a sex party, but Jubal makes sure that they all know his woman is off limits. He sticks to your side like glue, his hand on your lower back as he guides you into the room.

There’s a couple of judges here, a few ADAs. You recognise a senator who shows a little too much of an interest in you. Jubal steps in when things get a little too handsy, reminding the politician that you’re his and only his, he’s not a man who likes to share.

Jubal's hand threads through your hair, tugging just a little as he draws you close. It’s possessive, just the way it’s meant to be. In that moment you both fall into that role, he’s the man that owns you and you’re the girl that’s so crazy in love with him that you’d do anything he asked.

It’s sensual the way he kisses you, his mouth claiming yours, his body firm and unrelenting. You can feel the heat radiating through his shirt and it makes you want to run your fingers underneathe it.

“She can’t get enough, can you baby?” he teases, his dark eyes heated as he tips your chin up. “Let me discuss some business and then I’ll take care of you.”

It’s not real, you remind yourself as he draws you into his lap. His warm palm comes to rest upon your thigh, his thumb ghosting along the hem of your dress. His goatee grazes the curve of your shoulder, his lips following suit, his breath ghosting along your skin.

When the raid goes down everything shifts, you both slip back into the consummate professionals you’ve always been. You put your FBI windbreakers and it’s like the whole thing never happened.

It’s in the locker room afterwards you find yourself alone with him. You’re hanging up that dress, your fingers toying with the fabric as you think about Jubal’s hands on you, how good it felt to be touched like that. He doesn’t say anything as he sits down on the bench, you close your locker before taking a seat alongside of him.

“We need to talk about that kiss.” He says quietly, rubbing his hands together.

“I know it was just for a role.” You tell him, your shoulder brushing his. “We don’t need to make it something it’s not.”

“What if…” He pauses before he forces out the words. “What if I wanted to?”

You tilt your head towards him, and he sees the question in your features before he gestures between the two of you.

“There’s always been this thing between the two of us. We’ve never been able to act on it but you’re transferring in a couple of days and I…” he trails off for a minute as he searches for the words, the edges of his mouth tipping up into a smile. “That kiss was really something, something I want to explore and I’m kinda hoping you do too.”

“I can’t stop thinking about it,” You admit, your cheeks flush pink as you recall his fingertips trailing under the hem of your dress, the pattern they doodled across your skin. “I want more from you, I want…”

You can’t bring yourself to say it, but Jubal knows, you see it in the way he looks at you, the heat in his gaze. You know when you get home tonight the first thing, you’re doing is getting a cold shower or entertaining yourself in bed.

“Two more days.” He tells you with a hint of promise in his voice.

Your hand comes to rest on his, your fingers entwining as you smile up at him.

“Only two more days.”

Jubal (left) and Connor (right) are some characters that I have been putting together and I have been really enjoying their vibes so far. I have really wanted to make a duo inspired by Sleep Token's "Euclid" for -- well. Since I first heard it, actually. But I am happy that I waited this long for inspiration to hit, because ... man. Thanks to these two, I finally have an organization that has been causing issues in a lot of my settings/campaigns/stories -- and I really wanna elaborate further, sometime. Jubal is a vessel/mouthpiece for the gods, a cleric of sorts? And Connor is a paladin but he has decided that all of the pain and nonsense that Jubal has been going through is, uh ... well. It's not worth it. It's not fair. It's not right. A little spiciness under the cut.

They are, in fact, slowly threatening to take over my whole noodle.

Jubal & Jabal

Per my last post on Genesis 4, I believe the line of Cain is the history of the line of Judah and thus the history of Christ.

Jubal and Jabal are sons of Lamech by Adah. I believe they are a type of the 6000 year church, jew and gentile. They are mentioned in the following verse:

Genesis 4:20-21 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. 21 And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.

Per my prior post, Adah =”adorn”. It is from Strong’s H5710. The bride of Christ is adorned with jewels in the Old Testament (Jerusalem) and the New Testament (New Jerusalem).

Jabal “dwells in tents”. This is the same word as “tabernacle” He dwells in the tabernacle of God. Jubal handles the harp and organ. What art the saints playing in the tabernacle of God in the book of Revelation, harps:

Genesis 4:20 about Jabal has a gematria of 1556. Jubal is Strong’s H3106.

Strong’s H1556 =”roll”. The first three times it is used in the Bible it is used in Genesis 29:

Genesis 29:3 And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well's mouth in his place.

Genesis 29:8 And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well's mouth; then we water the sheep.

Genesis 29:10 And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother.

Genesis 29:8 also has a gematria of 3106, matching the Strong’s number of Jubal. That seems noteworthy to have the numbers of Jubal and Jabal tied to one verse. It is as if the the Holy Spirit is saying Jabal and Jubal are represented by these sheep who are watered when the great stone is rolled from the mouth of the well.

Genesis 29 repeatedly emphasizes the importance of the stone being “rolled” away by mentioning it 3 times. Also it is called a “great stone”:

Genesis 29:2 And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well's mouth.

The main story of the Bible is Christ. The stone that was “rolled” away from Christ’s tomb was also called a “great stone”.

Matthew 27:60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed:

Mark 16:4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

Jacob rolling away the great stone from the well is a type of Jesus rolling away the stone from His tomb.

Jesus says He is the well of water at “Jacob’s well” when he meets the Samaritan women:

John 4 :14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

The sheep that are watered by Jacob when he rolls away the great stone is a type of Christ dying for our sins and conquering death signified by the rolling away of the great stone at His tomb. He is the well of water that waters His flock. Jabal and Jubal are a type of the flock/the church.

Further, Jabal not only dwells in tents/the tabernacle of God, he also has cattle.

Genesis 4:20 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.

Strong’s H4735 =”cattle”. It’s root is interestingly is Strong’s H7069, which is the same root of Cain. It’s definition is something purchased or possessed in relation to livestock. In the Old Testament times of Abraham it represented your wealth:

Genesis 13:2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.

The church is very “rich” also through Christ and His rolling away of the great stone:

Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Ephesians 3:8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Lastly, Genesis 4:21 has a gematria of 1657:

Genesis 4:21 And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ.

The number 1657 is kind of a hidden number. Most bible students readily identify the number 1656 with the flood and Noah’s ark since the flood came 1656 years from creation. The flood lasted 1 year and 10 days. The year 1657 form creation would then represent the salvation, safety and protection in the ark and the new creation.

Strong’s H1657 = Goshen. This is where the Israelites lived and were protected while God brought the plagues upon Egypt just as Noah and his family were protected in the ark while the plague of the flood was brought upon the ungodly world. Likewise, the church is now spiritually protected by God, and when He pours out His wrath we will also be physically protected by God.

Verse 1657 is about the deliverance of Israel from Egypt. We will be delivered from this world at His coming:

Exodus 6:1 Then the Lord said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

Noah’s ark was covered inside and out with pitch.

Genesis 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

Strong’s H3722 =”pitch”. It also means “atonement”, and is its’ root. As in Christ made an atonement for our sins and for the day of atonement, Tishri 10:

Tishri 10, the day of atonement, is a jubilee and ye shall proclaim liberty:

Leviticus 25:10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

Jubal and Jabal share the same root as the Jubilee (Strong’s H3104).

Strong’s G1657 =”liberty” also just as the jubilee, the root of Jabal and Jubal, means liberty. First use:

Romans 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

We have been given liberty and we wait for our final liberty at His coming.

Lastly for the cherry on top, verse 1657 from the end of the Bible is the first mention of the book of life in the New Testament:

Philippians 4:3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

Jubal was the father of those who play the harp with a gematria of 1657. The first time the harp is mentioned in the book of Revelation is when Jesus takes the 7 sealed book in His hands, which I believe 100% is the Book of Life. The 24 elders are the church just as Jubal and Jabal are:

Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

The numbers are so perfect. Jubal and Jabal are a type of the church living in the tabernacle of God, possessing great spiritual wealth, and live to praise God for His goodness and works, because He has redeemed us. Glory be to God.

"I think you're underestimating how little straight men think about things," Athy said. "Kink spaces that aren't explicitly queer are full of heterosexual men looking to dominate and humiliate women."

"Yeah, and I don't count those guys as halfway decent," Marco said. "If he's been sitting on it instead of, like, doing it without a second thought, he's probably aware it's at least potentially a red flag."

"I guess he wasn't asking permission so much as...absolution?" Jubal said. "I don't get how anyone can have enough energy to get all worked up and ashamed of what turns them on. Don't they have better things to do?"

"You're forgetting how much time and energy they save by not having satisfying sex," Marco said.

I reall loved designing the side characters! It's fun trying to figure out the different clothing styles and I really wanted to lean into the fantasy features.

Special updates: Lennox is now a fairy! I thought it was fitting since fairies get their power from community and he'd abuse that with his cult. Also Magnus gets a more casual outfit so he isn't having breakfast in full plate

The Centenary Chapter Masters Convention is held in the most boring corporate hotel on Terra. What goes down?

Dante goes to bed at 8pm sharp, citing the importance of a good sleep. Helbrecht calls him an old fogey. Dante punches Helbrecht in the kidneys so hard one of them disintegrates. He then goes to bed. Marneus and Dessian nod sagely at this violently concise dedication to punctuality. Asterion and Gabriel laugh and point as Helbrecht curls up on the floor holding his stomach.

Tu’shan has taken all of the mini-fridges from the rooms and arranged them into a bar. He’s using the contents of them to make flaming drinks for everyone (he smuggled a butane torch in). He has to gently hand some of them under the “bar”, in the recessed parts of the fridges, because Shrike is lurking there.

Jubal and Tyberos are on a couch off to the side. They’re actually having a very pleasant, quiet conversation about the best way to clean servomotors.

Kardan Stronos is glaring at them from the corner for daring to have a discussion on servomotors without him. A Custodian is glaring at Kardan from the doorway for daring to besmirch holy Terra with his dour expressions.

I did finally map out Jubal's markings because they are super important to his character design. This is him without the collar he always wears but still, you get it. You get the idea.

I really wanna do little comics about him and Connor but they will have to wait a bit. I gotta focus on Promise Me, first!! Still, I love drawing them and I may have woken up today and immediately written a small thing containing them. Will I post it? We do not know.

When you step through the door that evening Jubal is completely blindsided. You’re supposed to be on a fugitive hunt, a surveillance op you’d told him, the thing you didn’t mention was the costume.

Fishnet tights, black high waisted shorts, a white and red striped corset. There’s a burgundy ringmaster’s jacket fastened over the top and a top hat tucked underneath your arm.  You look like the wet dream Jubal didn’t know he wanted to have.

Your gaze comes to land on him as he raises to his feet and you can’t help but smile.

“Maverick.” You greet him, nodding your head at his flight suit, the aviators tucked on top of his unruly curls. “How was Tyler’s party?”

“I would rather talk about this.” He says, his fingers toying with the lapels of the outfit you’re wearing. “Dare I ask about the surveillance you’ve been doing?”

“Circus themed party, the fugitive thought we wouldn’t spot him in a costume.” You informed him as his hands dip underneath the jacket and come to rest upon your hips, drawing you closer.

“I assume you got your man.” He murmurs, his nose bumping against yours as he leans in close.

“Oh Maverick.” You sigh, as his lips ghost over the corner of your mouth. “You should know by now I always get my man.”
