The groan that left his lips and throat sounded almost like a whale call with how low and reverberating it was, his forehead pressed against the cool faux granite countertop, rocking back and forth to massage away the strain between his brows as he very impudently grumbled, "Why's it gotta be so hard ta peel a stupid clove of garlic?"

The offending clove of garlic was near his head just a few inches away, most of it peeled except for some remnants of the thin membrane. "No one gonna notice if dey eat a little bit of the peel, will dey?" He asked pathetically, looking up at Juan Diego with imploring and hopeful eyes that he would not need to keep peeling the garlic.

Natsuki was relieved at how smoothly Juan Diego handled the situation, quietly marveling as he effortlessly seemed to maneuver the social interaction and soon they were on their way out. "Oh," she turned her face toward him as they walked, "Please, don't apologize. I'm just.." her lips pressed together into a tight lipped smile, "I didn't make the cakes so it felt a little like taking credit for someone else's work and I'm not," again she paused, her smile turning sheepish and coy, "I usually avoid big crowds if I can help it." She was only a small and petite woman and quite softly spoken, large crowds of strangers were something she struggled with, much preferring to spend time with one or two people in which she was close with instead. "But it was lovely to give them a treat, please don't think I don't appreciate your idea, it was very nice and I do hope they enjoy the cakes. I'm happy to give them something nice for all they do."

He smiled at Natsuki and shook his head “It’s totally okay, let’s go back, we can say goodbye and also let them go back to their work”, he shook the hand of the firefighter chief, waved goodbye to the rest, and started to walk out “I’m sorry if all the attention made you feel a little uncomfortable, I should have asked before it, but they are not bad people they just tempt to be a little loud. Are you feeling a little better?” The elder of the Flores brother felt guilty for putting the woman in an uncomfortable situation for her without asking her first.

I don’t see a lot of interpretations of Ramirez’s wife, so here’s mine.

Beatriz is a baking teacher at Grimsborough High School, and the wife of Eduardo Ramirez. She’s known to keep herself refined and attentive to her work and those around her. With that, she’s also known to be an honest, proper, and cultivating woman.

Beatriz also has a reputation of being perceptive. She can always tell when someone is feeling down. Despite this, she is serious when it comes to her work. It’s best not to cross her on certain occasions. She is very defensive over her passions and loved ones. (Especially her husband and children.)

Natsuki had volunteered her services as she was a professional chef and had a proficiency in culinary magicks, helpful for the current circumstances in which the town was being assaulted by the sky. Torrential rain had been pouring down for quite some time now and the University stuffed with so many of the townsfolk who all still needed to maintain a certain standard of living. They didn't have access to a full stock of groceries by any means but the University kitchens had been stocked for their own usual sort of meals served to the students and faculty and so Natsuki had started to make a very large and simple but still certified to be delicious batch of pasta with tomato sauce.

"Are you here to help?" Natsuki inquired, peering at the familiar figure of Juan Diego, recognizing him as a notable town figure.

Stranger, it was the perfect word to describe anyone now in his life.  Just a few weeks ago, Santiago stumbled into Opulence and changed from a witch to a siren with no recollection of the event that transpired or well anything.  Thankfully, he had a wonderful family that came and picked him up but he didn’t know them from adam.  The one named Juan Diego offered his house, since Santiago lost his apartment for not paying rent the last few months given his disappearance.  It seemed JD was putting in effort in rebuilding their relationship, which helped significantly.

Today was like any other day, he got back from his doctor’s appointment doing a few scans of his brains and trying to do memory exercises, but still nothing.  Thankfully, JD was home when he got to the house and it was an opportunity to get to know his brother all over again.  Seeing JD in the kitchen, he walked in and offered a soft smile, “hey JD,” he softly said.  “So I was wondering if maybe you wanted to hangout if you’re not busy?  Maybe do something we used to do before I lost my memory, whatever that might be.”

To say things have been strange in Opulence would be an understatement.  Alejandro now was living with Celine for the time being to be close to the boys and her during these uncertain times.  While the boys were at school and Celine working, Alejandro decided to visit his oldest brother.  Since getting out of prison, he had been making it a point to try and mend some fences between him and his parents and siblings.  Thankfully, Juan Diego was the easiest to get along with, because he always has been that way.

“Hey, how you doin’?”  He questioned as he stepped into the gym where JD worked.  “Are your powers acting weird too?”  Alejandro knew the answer, all the supernatural creatures were having issues, but he figured he would be polite and ask.  Stepping up to the punching bag, Alejandro got into position and punched it a few times before looking at his brother.  “So, you want to go do something?  I got today off and the boys are at school and Celine is working.”

⌝ "Oh we're definitely friends, I'm obsessed with you," she assured him readily. Someone generous and wise who liked cooking and also was a little baby crazy? Definitely the sort of person Bellamy wanted to be friends with. Also she probably needed to start having friends that were a little more mature, she was ageing, so was everyone around her, and while Bellamy might have looked twenty-three she was in her early thirties. She wanted friends who would enjoy a dinner party with good food good conversation.

⌝ "A year sounds good, I'd definitely enjoy having you be a vampire for a year, take you out for someone nice to eat," JD seemed like he'd be sort of morally opposed to killing but morals could shift when the reality of ones situation set in and regardless, even without death, a nice bite on someone who wasn't going to turn it into some ongoing thing was always nice.

⌝ "Openness is hard, you have to have people willing to sort of be the initiator of things and even then certain people can be stubborn about things, or be insecure, so many reasons. My openness is usually what makes people feel sort of uncomfortable about me, because people aren't used to it," Bellamy reasoned, though finding it sad that within his coven, especially as his family was involved in things, JD didn't feel like he could communicate. "It's off putting typically. Some men find it attractive but only because they presume it's exclusive to them, like within moments of meeting them they've somehow cracked my code, and then it's unattractive when they realise that's not true. I do hope, family or otherwise, you have people who share with you. You deserve that." Of course, speaking on it she had, per her natural self, overshared.

“I don’t really think I’m a charmer, but thank you for the kind words. And not at all, like I said is fun to meet new people and hopefully we can now say that we’ll be friends from now on, if you’ll like, so we can get together more often” He smiled. “Maybe we can get together and cook.”

“Perhaps you are right, it takes a lot of time to get to control magic, I’m assuming it’s just the same with every species, but like I said it would kind of be like a wish thing, so I would be asked to be that species with all the experience of a senior. But now that you mention it, perhaps more like a year, to fully take the life of each one of them.” He laughed.

 “Our own clinginess” he laughed “I think that even have to do more with my own family routine. But I don’t know I wish we were a little more open between us.” He smiled and shrugged lightly.
