KARIMA Dominates Gospel Radio Charts with REDEEMER

   Celebrated vocalist KARIMA soars high claiming the Number 1 spot on several Gospel radio charts. The beautiful worship ballad "Redeemer," is KARIMA's DARE Records debut and its impressive rise speaks to the power of the song and KARIMA's exceptional performance of it.

    KARIMA’s first-ever Number 1 song, “Redeemer” is #1 on the Gospel Airplay Chart, is the greatest gainer on that chart, and is #1 on the Mediabase Gospel chart.

    “Just when you think it’s over it’s literally just the beginning. After being in the music industry for 25 years, I hoped and may have even dreamed of being in this position,” said KARIMA. “While I was contemplating giving up on music, God was waiting on me to recognize His ultimate plan for this season of my life… the plan was just to believe in myself and KEEP GOING no matter what that looked like to others or felt like to myself.”

    She went on to say “I’ve learned in this process that His ‘no’ is even good. His ‘no’ doesn’t always mean things are permanently not going to happen. I still remember it, that cold day in 2008 on the Mall in D.C. My good friends and I (Juan and Lisa Winans) had been up the previous night in the streets of D.C visiting all the sites of course the Abraham Lincoln Memorial was my favorite. Woke up the next day at the crack of dawn, caught the train downtown to experience both an epic and historical moment. The very first African American man being sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. It was sunny but freezing cold (hot cocoa saved our lives) and I remember how glad I was to be there and so was everyone else. There were families there, some made sure that grandparents and children attended to witness this moment in history. From Aretha singing My Country 'Tis of Thee to hearing Obama's speech and their Parade through the streets of D.C I will never forget the monumental moment. He and his administration were not perfect I don't know which of the last 44 where but he gave two great terms and both he and his family were refined, charismatic, optimistic and gracious to everyone. Hope and a new standard of excellence was set as a new precedence through he and his beautiful wife and lovely daughters. Years later I would marry my beautiful wife and have children of my own. I remember growing up, there were books about Martin Luther King Jr. in abundance, after all my elementary school was named after him. I spent so much time studying him, getting to know Coretta Scott King and their children and if course the tragedy that befell Martin. I'm grateful that my oldest son received a child's book with the first black President on it (getting teary eyed) as I saw him point to Obama's cartoon face he thought it was me (lol). I let him know he was our President. My children never have to doubt the possibility that they can achieve the same level of greatness. Barack and Michelle Obama parting is such sweet sorrow, but thank you. Thank you for your years of service, excellence and standard. The image and memory of you will forever stay with me and will be passed down to my generations and so many others. #farewellmichelleandbarackobama (at The Mall (Washington DC))

Juan and Lisa Winans Claim Number One On Billboard’s Gospel Airplay Chart

     Earning widespread gospel airplay, a legion of new fans, and critical acclaim, recording artists Juan and Lisa Winans are heading into a notable 2020 holiday season. Their debut single, “It Belongs To Me” featuring Marvin L. Winans has landed at No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart this week.

     This has been a year of firsts for the musical partners. Juan and Lisa’s first non-holiday track, released on DARE Records, marks their first time charting together as recording artists. “It Belongs To Me” is a beautifully rendered and timely message of faith and assurance, needed during the world’s current time of social and political unrest.

    “Getting the news that ‘It Belongs To Me’ had hit No. 1 gave me an overwhelming sense of gratitude because I know how many people supported this journey,” says Juan. “Success is a team sport and I’m incredibly grateful for our team, all of the fans, and listeners.            Formerly Lisa Kimmey, who is best known as a member and lead songwriter of the chart-topping Contemporary Christian music trio Out of Eden, with her sisters Andrea Kimmey-Baca and Danielle Kimmey Torrez. The group released seven career albums from 1994-2006 including the critically-acclaimed No Turning Back, This Is Your Life, and Hymns, which was nominated for a 2006 Grammy Award in the Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album category. She also served as a host on the original programming for the Gospel Music Channel and hosted the Verizon Wireless “How Sweet the Sound” choir competition along with Donald Lawrence.
