productivity win today:
reorganized a bit in my bathroom, gave some things places in the top of my closets, repotted some plant babies I'd been long propagating, resewed one of the kitties' toys after restuffing and adding catnip, wiped some dusty shelves in my craft room and think I still have some motivation left to keep organizing in here after I eat stoffers meal
it's been a big day for elmo that's for sure
mazie has been helpful in bringing some extra joy with shenanigans alongside brookie

I ve been reading your steddie fic and I love it so much!!! Wayne munson my beloved!!!!!! If u dont mind me asking, how did you come up with wayne’s characterisation?
AHHH I'm so glad you're enjoying it!! This fic has literally been my whole year so getting to see people engage with it and fall in love with Wayne and Eddie has been so so fun for me.
I think I felt very connected to Wayne from jump street, eve based on the little snippets we got in canon. The things I took away from those scenes were:
1. This is a man who has seen some adversity in his life and has dealt with it by keeping his head down and doing the work put in front of him.
2. We know he's working nights circa s4, which is a tough thing to do. It isolates you from normal social life. Maybe it's for the extra money, or maybe it's because he's a little bit of a liner himself. Maybe he and Eddie work because they're both on the fringes in their own ways.
3. He loves Eddie unconditionally. This is clear from the wonderful performance Joel Stoffer gave. But a part that stuck out to me in particular was the way he's coming into the high school at the end, as far as we know, just to replace the vandalized missing flyer with a new one. There's a quiet sort of dignity to the way he's doing it. It's probably not the first time, and he knows it'll happen again. But he knows who Eddie was. He will keep honoring that kid he knew, no matter what the rest of Hawkins thinks.
Which kind of brings us back to 1: Wayne Munson will take what is thrown at him in stride. He doesn't rage against the injustice. He just does what he can with what is put in front of him. So what would that have looked like when the thing put in front of him was a scared kid who needed his help? What does putting your head down and doing the work mean when the work is loving someone who desperately needs to be loved? Even if you feel ill-prepared for that responsibility?
I imagine it looks like giving the kid safety and protection and softness. Letting him talk your ear off for hours. Standing up for him when no one else ever has. So to me it followed that those are things Wayne would do. Identify the issue, execute the solution. Ask for help when you need it. Prioritize joy when you can afford to. Etc.
And at the end of the day, I just wanted Eddie to have someone in his corner. I think Wayne is that person. So I wrote him as a person who loves Eddie, and let the rest stem from that.
Thanks so much for asking, this was fun to dig into and think about!

Likely incomplete list of times my favorite foods have been taken off menus/ceased production. I'd like to note none of these things were overtly marketed as limited time items and many of them i got for many years before they disappeared completely and without warning.
Walmart Brand Beef Stew (tasted like dog food and brother was i barking)
Stoffer's Spicy Baked Ziti
Stoffer's Eggplant Lasagna (I can make this myself now but ugh the hassle)
Digiorno Mushroom, Spinach, and Garlic Pizza (it's harder than you'd think to find this combo in a frozen pizza that doesn't use white sauce)
Camarones a la Diabla from the Mexican restaurant in my hometown
Wendy's Frosty Shake (the frosty is not a drink the frosty is not a drink it's a stupid lie to tell they give it to you with a goddamn spoon it's NOT A DRINK)
Bibigo Beef Pho Dumplings (I can still get these in a large bag at certain Asian grocery stores but inconsistently, while the chicken and pork flavors are still sold in microwavable trays that i can find at most grocery stores in the area)
Almond Joy Pieces (Reese's Pieces go to hell forever)
Tomato Macaroni from Aldi (this shit was so fucking good i'm drooling thinking about it)

How Do We Self Identify?
The topic of how we self identify in the Multiracial Community is raised a lot both among fellow multiracial people and by monoracial people. Do we pledge allegiance to one or more of our races? Do we reject one or more of our races? And why? And does the way we self-identify upset both monoracial and multiracial people?
Well, this is how I feel about that:
How do we self identify?
How Do We Self Identify? Race is a topic of endless debate—both among monoracial and multiracial people. For monoracial people, there is only one way to self identify. If their parents are the same race, their own race is branded on them from the moment they are born. This isn’t the case with multiracial people. For one thing, our looks can change the older we get. I was born with a darker complexion and straight, very thin hair. As I grew, my complexion lightened and when puberty set in, my hair curled up.
And I looked nothing like either of my brothers—I still don’t. One brother came out several shades darker and with an afro and the other looked Japanese from the moment he was born. And so I suppose we too were branded upon birth. My godmother emphatically told my mother, “you have one Black child, one Japanese child and one White child.”
While looks may tell one story, how we’re raised can tell another. As it happens, my parents had already made up their minds to raise us to self identify as Black. We knew our mother was half Black and half Japanese and our father was White and at home we could embrace all three, but in the street where people “shoot first and ask questions later” (usually only metaphorically speaking), we were Black … period.
And then something interesting happens to us multiracial people: Life experience. How we self identify growing up is subject to change once we’re out in the world in mingling amongst others not raised with us. The older we get, the more life experience we gain, the more race becomes fluid. I so often say that because race is fluid, I can be Black, White and multiracial all within the same conversation.
There’s obviously no one correct answer, and despite what outside observers might think, it can change from one family member to another—even when they have the same parents.

Now Available: THE BALANCE TIPS by Joy Huang-Iris
Tumblr media
"Ambitious and brave, this book is a lyric meditation not just on identity, but authenticity."
— Jamie Ford, New York Times bestselling author of Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet
Fay Wu Goodson is a 25-year-old queer, multiracial woman who documents the identity journeys of other New Yorkers. She finds her videography work meaningful, but more importantly, it distracts her from investigating the challenges of her own life and keeps relationships at a distance. When the family's Taiwanese patriarch dies, Fay's Asian grandmother moves to America; and Fay, her mother, and her aunt learn unsettling truths about their family and each other. They must decide to finally confront themselves, or let their pasts destroy everything each woman has dreamed of and worked for.
An unconventional story of an Asian-American matriarchy, THE BALANCE TIPS pieces together the personal histories of the Wu family and sisters Jia and Hua in an exploration of family, sexual identity, racism, and the internal struggles that hinge on East Asian culture. Written in multiple literary styles, it pays homage to fluidity, complex ideologies, and ultimately finds strength in vulnerability and that hope opens pathways to reconciliation.

I am really looking forward to ep 5 (Fitz is my favorite character) and just trying to speculate what might happen. Seeing that some of Talbot's troops are in the mix do you think it likely that Fitz is lthe left at the diner so do you think it's possible he will be picked up by Talbot's people and charged for Mace's death and other crimes related to the Framework and will have to escape the government, maybe with Hunter's help, before he can begin to look for the others?
Hi Anon,
I’m really looking forward to 5, I’ve been looking forward too it since I knew Hunter was going to be back for it.  However, even I know very little of what is going to happen here.   Iain is hard enough to place on set but when they are not trying to hide him AND Nick being there…nothing was getting out.  Like last year when we didn’t see him on set the entire Framework Arc.
The Synopsis dropped today and it didn’t offer much more insight, but it was at least something.
With help from Lance Hunter, nothing will stop Fitz from finding the lost team as his secret journey is revealed. Guests: Nick Blood, Joel Stoffer, Catherine Dent, Lola Glaudini, Lexy Kolker, Zibby Allen, Joy Layton, Delpaneaux Wills, Anthony Bless, Asante Jones
It says his journey is revealed so I’m still looking at 4 for his arrival and but wont’ rule out a crazy surprise to see him somehow in 3.
And from the looks of it, the how Fitz gets to space the future plus whatever else he was up too.  Meaning, I think things are going to need to move along at a pretty decent pace and we won’t see a lot of what happens when, much like  4722 hours where we’ll jump around to the good/important bits.  It is very possible that Fitz gets arrested, it just depends on how close those guys were to closing in and what Fitz does when he unfreezes.  Because he’s going to come out of that all alone in the diner, simply knowing some shadowy figure showed up.
The other thing I look at is the guest stars, there is no one listed as a prison guard, there is one Military Police and One Security guard.  Fitz will also want to do everything he can from being locked up since he can’t help the others if he is behind bars.
My early thoughts on what we’ll see, not necessarily in this order:
The initial aftermath, him unfreezing and where he went from there.
How he found Hunter or Hunter found him.
They track down Enoch and based on other IMDB info Fitz brings Enoch through with him or Enoch is also still around in the future and joins the party from then on.
They have a run in with the Military.  They could ask for help, need something, the military could have Millie the Monolith, or yes someone was captured.  Dent will be back in 11, so it could be the way in/out.
They track down Patty and Robin (Charles’s wife and Daughter from Spacetime).  I’ll admit that one was a bit of a curve ball.
Whoever the heck Joy Layton is playing might be a surprise as she currently doesn’t exist in IMDB.  Last time we saw that was when Stella had a cameo.
Visit a crime scene
Fitz gets the postcard at the very least in place so that it makes its way to Virgil then the team.
I won’t be surprised if Fitz doesn’t find the Lighthouse as well.
I’m also still thinking that notebook might be his too.
The set up for Fitz telling the story, IE is it like Jemma with 4722 hours and part of the cliffhanger for 4.
Chloe and Ming’s doubles are in the mix.  So either its not a true bottle episode and there will still be cuts for the future or Fitz sees the others another way.
Fitz figures out when the team is.
He figures out how to get there himself AND get them back.
Him dealing with Framework guilt
Fitzsimmons feels
Give Hunter another proper send off in case he’s not ‘there’ when the team comes back.
I’m likely missing stuff but that is a lot to pack into a single episode.   There is also the time factor, I’m guessing it will take him longer to work it out than has passed for the team in the future.  This is possibly our “winter” finale so it could also leave on a bit of a Cliffhanger going into 6…which I am also super excited for.

I've been seeing you mentioning Robin in this season a few times now. Is she confirmed to appear? If not how did you get that speculation? Also about May, how much of a possibility do you think that we'll find out what happen to her next week?
Hi @bob-newby-superhero
Yes, Robin Hinton and her mother Polly are confirmed to be returning via the Press Release for 5.
“Rewind” – With the surprising help of Lance Hunter, nothing will stop Fitz from finding the lost team as his incredible journey is revealed, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” FRIDAY, DEC. 22 (9:01-10:01 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie and Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez.
Guest starring are Nick Blood as Lance Hunter, Joel Stoffer as Enoch, Catherine Dent as General Hale, Lola Glaudini as Polly Hinton, Lexy Kolker as Robin Hinton, Zibby Allen as Lt. Evans, Joy Layton as Lt. Lucas, Delpaneaux Wills as forensic officer, Anthony Bless as MP guard and Asante Jones as security guard.
”Rewind” was written by Craig Titley and directed by Jesse Bochco.
The rest of it is speculation on my part.   But I don’t see any other reason for the Hinton’s to be back unless they play a role in either how the team got to the future or getting Fitz to the future.   The other part of the speculation is based that Robin is Inhuman and possess similar powers to her father that will allow her to see into the future.
