The left figure is the guidance piece I used of Josay’s work to get the figures shape & style more accurate. As you can see, I changed the arm positioning to best represent the Fendi look. @barnsleycollegefashionrocks

annotation: For my final catwalk look, I chose look 31 of Fendi’s SS21 collection shown at Milan fashion week. With the look designed by head of house Serge Brunschwig, I chose illustrator Josay Larkowsky (@JosayHef) to interpret this style. I thought he’d be a good illustrator to choose as he has a very clean cut style & lots of detail but then that cartoon-like model style with little face details to let the garment do all the work. Just like Josay Larkowsky, I thought this look was very clean cut and would be perfect for his style. I worked from a piece of Josay’s posted on the 25th April 2020 , that I shall post after this, that was very simple showing the outline of a body so I can use that as a basis to then add the Fendi look ontop. First, I used grid method to draw the figures outline changing the positioning of the arm to recreate the Fendi model holding her bag, then I drew the Fendi garment on, I used watercolour for the sheer lilac dress then marker for the rest. First, I tried to use markers for the dress as Josay’s style looks quite digital and I thought markers could best interpret that ,however, no colour could correctly match the dress and just made it look harsh and messy instead of the sheer fabric that it is. So I decided to use watercolour to make the sheer fabric and the rest in marker to still get that ‘digital’ clean effect. I think this was a successful piece as I think I interpreted Josay’s style quite well using his signature styles like the portrait with the elongated, lone eyes and using the positioning of one of his already posted pieces & using markers to try and recreate the style of his media. However, I’d try to paint the undergarment more as in the picture it is shown quite visibly yet I only hinted to the bottom of it. @barnsleycollegefashionrocks
