Our William and Mary Seaweed Marquetry Cabinet was featured in AtHome in Fairfield County Magazine! We especially like the quote by Lisa Hilderbrand of Hilderbrand Interiors: “Whether a showstopper table in an entry hall, a giltwood mirror or a dining room sideboard, antiques are one of a kind. They have character, patina and authenticity that I just don’t find with something mass-produced or from a catalogue.”

A glimpse into the newly restored Model Room from the Soane Museum. The Model Room and Soane’s private apartments are open to the public for the first time in 160 years. An inspiring opportunity to get closer to the great man we admire. Luckily, we have the Mahogany Model Stands and Console Table designed by Sir John Soane in the shop if you can’t make it to London.

This week for Workshop Wednesday we wanted to wish former manager Maggie farewell and good luck! She was a great help at the workshop and gallery for the past 5 years and we will miss her. Pictured above is Maggie along with metalworker John McDevitt on the left and Jonathan Burden on the right.

This week for Workshop Wednesday, Jonathan Burden is pictured above in his Restoration Shop, polishing one of our Mahogany Model Stand/Console Table designed by Sir John Soane. This week the Financial Times of London published a artcle on the upcoming opening of the Sir John Soane Model Room!  We can’t wait to see the opening with the John Soane Model stands and consoles in their true home.

This week for Workshop Wednesday, this wooden iPhone case was in need of repair! It is no mystery why the client turned to our Restoration Shop. Within 20 minutes this case looked as good as new. The broken piece was re-glued and the crack was refit using Quickwood. Once the Quickwood dried, our restorer Kwang refitted and carved the Quickwood to seamlessly blend in with the rest of the case. Is there anything the workshop can’t fix?!
