A/N: I spent way too much time on this and I’m not really the happiest with this piece, but I really wanted to write the request as well as I could and as it was requested. Plus, Chrollo. He’s enough of a reason (for me, at least 😂)

30) “One more chapter.”

Those moments spent with Chrollo in peace, when there was no Troupe business and you could spend some much needed time together were, honestly, some of the best. This type of domesticity and intimacy the two of you felt whenever you were by yourselves was something you were sure not a lot of people felt.

Right now, you were making yourself something warm to drink just so you could warm up a bit while Chrollo was reading another one of his books in silence and the TV was quietly droning on in the background. You honestly wished you and Chrollo spent some time doing something together. Going somewhere on a date, talking, watching a movie and commenting, anything. Unfortunately, as you should’ve been used by now, Chrollo was a bookworm and pretty much every free moment meant that he had to lose himself in a book.

You sighed before moving to the living room and sitting down next to Chrollo, attempting to steal some warmth from him as you glued yourself to his side and warm your insides with the hot beverage in your hands. Chrollo’s arm went around your shoulders before he kissed your forehead without taking his eyes off the page. You made yourself comfortable and watched whatever was on TV at that moment, which was some odd comedy from another country, if the few words you could hear and didn’t really understand the meaning of were anything to go by.

That movie captured your attention and for the next hour or so, you watched the movie intently, taking little sips and missing the fond glance Chrollo threw your way when he saw how captivated you were by the story. He only squeezed your shoulder affectionately, smiling warmly when you looked at him with a curious expression on your face and whispered a nothing before you both went back to your activities.

As the movie’s credits rolled downwards in front of your eyes and your cup was lying emptily in your hands, you stretched a bit, hearing your joints pop and making Chrollo look at you from the corner of his eye. Next, you sat up and stretched a bit more, sighing satisfied when you felt like you could move normally again and looked down at Chrollo.

“I’m going to the bedroom and probably to bed soon, are you coming?” You asked him, hopeful that he’d just come and either cuddle a bit with you or maybe even sleep. He had the whole next day off and you held onto the hope that you’d maybe go out on a date since the weather would supposedly be nice and warm.

“Not yet. I want to read some more.” Chrollo answered, flipping to the next page. Just a few more chapters and then he could move on to the next book that had caught his attention. When he noticed that you hadn’t moved nor said anything, he chanced a look at your face, only to find a blank, if not slightly upset expression resting on your face.

“One more chapter. I promise. I’m almost done, love.” Your boyfriend responded, his eyes turning back to his book. You both knew that was a lie. He probably wanted to stay up and finish reading that book. And after not seeing him for quite a few weeks, you were pretty upset that he chose a book, that he could read anytime and anywhere, instead of you.

You felt a bit childish, yes. But after waiting to see him for so long and missing him daily, and without any sign of life because it was dangerous for you if anyone were to intercept your conversations, you felt like you deserved a bit more than an arm around your shoulders and a glance or two. You had missed the way Chrollo would tell you about the things he and the Spiders had seen and what they wanted to do next, so not having some of his attention now - while you still could before he’d leave again - really irritated you.

You only scoffed quietly before taking your mug to the kitchen to wash it and then leaving for the bathroom to get ready for bed instead of just resting for a bit, not noticing Chrollo’s grey eyes watching you. Were you really that upset?

“Call me if you need anything.” He said a bit louder, before hearing the door close a bit too forcefully. Yep, you were definitely upset. He only sighed before going back to his book. You could be so cute and childish in your actions sometimes. You’d get over it eventually... right? You always did.

There was no sound coming from the bathroom after you probably brushed your teeth, and after a few minutes had passed, he grew worried. You should’ve been out by now. Chrollo waited a bit more before he put a bookmark between the pages and quietly moved to the bathroom, staying close and trying to listen for any sounds. He only heard one sniffle before the door opened and you came out, walking straight into his chest. Well, damn.

“Did you cry?” Chrollo asked quietly before pointing to his own eyes. “Your eyes are red.” He observed, crouching down slightly. You only looked towards the ground, not really in the mood anymore.

“No. Go back to your book. Good night.” You tried moving past him and headed towards the bedroom before his hand caught the back of your shirt, halting your movements. You didn’t turn around and Chrollo felt his heart squeeze in worry. Did he upset you that much?

“Talk to me, love.” He said, keeping his voice under control. “I don’t want you to go to bed while you’re angry with me.” He saw your shoulders rise as you took a deep breath, but didn’t turn around to face him.

“I missed you, okay? I haven’t seen nor heard from you in weeks. I was so excited when you came home and told me that you were staying for a week or two before leaving and now you’re only reading your books, which, by the way, you can read whenever you want because you can take them with you. But you won’t take me because, I quote, it’s too dangerous and you love me too much to have anything happen to me. So if you love me so much, why won’t you make some time and spend it with me, doing something together? Am I really asking for so much?” You quieted down, wiping your fresh tears before you felt Chrollo’s arms around your waist and his front pressed against your back.

“I didn’t think you’d be so upset over this. I’m really sorry, (Y/N). I did miss you, very much, and was more than excited at the prospect of coming back into your arms as soon as possible. I promise you that I will spend the rest of my free time with you and we can do whatever you want. Okay?” His lips kissed your shoulder as he hugged you tightly. “I heard the weather will be nice tomorrow. How about I take you out on a date, hmm? I’ll buy you ice-cream, if you want. I’ll buy you whatever you want, actually. You just have to name it and it’s yours. I intend on making it up to you.” Your boyfriend promised, kissing your temple this time.

“Will you actually buy this time? Not steal?” You asked, giggling a bit because he did buy things... rarely. Stealing was a lot easier, apparently. Chrollo only chuckled before turning you around, pressing his forehead to yours as he looked into your eyes.

“Yes, I promise.” You gave him a look. “I swear, okay? I really will buy. Honest date, no stealing. Cross my heart and hope to die.” Your boyfriend said dramatically, marking his heart with an X before putting his arms back around you. He smiled at your chuckle and kissed you sweetly on the forehead.

“I like it better when you smile, love.” Another kiss, this time on your nose. “I really missed you, trust me. All of you.” And another, on your cheek. “I just got used to being alone for so long. But I really do appreciate you and I want you by my side, for as long as you’ll have me.” Then the other cheek. “I love you, (Y/N). Very much.” And finally, one on your lips. Your sigh of relief as your arms went to his shoulders made Chrollo pull you flush against him, kissing you more passionately. You were intoxicating.

Chrollo’s lips left yours, going to your cheek before moving downwards, one hand at the back of your neck, pushing your head slightly to the side and the other keeping you glued to him, as his lips travelled to your jaw and neck, nipping and kissing here and there, making you let out a few loud breaths and light whimpers. His hand on your waist soon moved beyond your hips, pushing you further into him before he quietly whispered jump and caught you with one arm, going towards the bedroom. Your hands were already in his hair and pulling on the back of his shirt upwards, feeling your patience start to run thin with how good he could make you feel with barely a few words and touches.

“How about we start our date now? We’ll go out later tomorrow, okay?” Chrollo asked you quickly as his lips went back to working on your skin. You only nodded before squeaking as he bit into your skin just a smidge harder and kissed gently afterwards, definitely leaving a mark behind, before moving onto another patch of clear skin. When he put you down on the bed and you got a good glimpse of each other, you both smiled. It felt good to be back together. You shot your hands up as soon as Chrollo took off his shirt and pants, making grabbing motions at him. He only chuckled before climbing over you so he could kiss you a little more and start taking your clothes off one by one, leaving you bare before his grey, calculating, but warm and loving eyes - only for you.

“I hope you’re ready, because I was serious when I said I missed all of you.” Your boyfriend said earnestly as he took off his underwear, clearly excited for what was going to happen as you only licked your lips, more than satisfied with the turn of events. “The night is still young and I have a lot of pent-up emotions from when I was away from you.” Chrollo whispered as he brought your legs around his waist and his hand held yours tightly, while he guided himself into you. Your other hand grabbed tightly onto the bedsheet beneath you, ready for what you knew would be a passionate round of love-making that you both missed while you were apart.

You just hoped you’d be able to walk tomorrow. And if not? Well, you had a lot of catching up to do. Spending more hours doing so in bed didn’t really sound so bad anymore.

‘In Lockdown’

‘It’s Shingles’ she confirmed in a brusque manner, pulled down my top and then strolled back to her laptop. I inaudibly groaned. ‘I have a compromised immune system’ I squeaked at her, cursing the fact that again my unco-operative and hyperactive body had got too feisty with itself for its own good. She eyed me suspiciously over her glasses and, with all the bedside manner of a bath sponge retorted with a snort, ‘We don’t treat Shingles anymore’. I tried explaining through crossed eyeballs and gritted teeth that I had a chronic health condition and as a result my immune system basically beats itself up and everything else around it on a daily basis, and she again repeated her last sentence, thanked me for coming and ushered me out of the door. I sighed and shuffled out of the door, defeated. Couldn’t have been a cold? A stubbed toe? fungus? But no.... Shingles?! Marvellous.

The last time I had shingles, was two years ago, down my right arm. It made it impossible to grip anything, lift my arm and pretty much ravaged my body for 2 solid weeks and was so painful; I could have quite cheerfully gnawed my own arm off to stop the pain. So I was absolutely thrilled that I was about to go through the experience again. This time the rash was left of my spine, which meant I was looking forward to 10 days of pretty much avoiding all contact with surfaces, backs of settees, taking showers where I would have to wash only half my body, desperately trying to twist myself into some horrible pretzel shape as with bulging eyes, sweaty face and with grinding teeth, try to fold myself in half in order to avoid any water on my back, having to practically levitate or hang from the ceiling like a bat, to try and get some sleep and spend the whole week walking like a crab because I knew I wouldn’t be able to stand up straight. How wonderfully attractive! I am sure my husband was thrilled that he was shortly going to be sharing a living space with a sweaty, irate, scuttling rash covered zombie where he would have to handle me using tongs, whilst wearing a surgical mask. All my plans went to hell as from past experience, I was pretty sure I was going to have to become a hermit whilst I got over it, which meant a week of enduring a week of bloodshot eyes, hair on end, isolation, loneliness and pain. On top of the isolation, pain, discomfort, lack of sleep I was already facing with IBD.

That’s the thing they don’t cover in the ‘this is what you have to deal with when you have Colitis’ guide for dummies. As well as dealing with the annoyance of symptoms like diarrhoea, constipation, and stomach pain, they fail to mention about the rubbishness of chronic fatigue, joints that feel you have mistaken your own for a rheumatic 80 year olds joints, and a brain that feels like you have set yours to maximum speed spin cycle where every day is like you are staring in your very own episode of sesame street.. Today will be brought to you by the letter.... S, T,9, 77, ball, House, crumbs???? and by the number...... 1,4,9,12, Twelfty 7..... house, ball crumbs, testicle.... etc. It makes for very confusing and alarming sentence structure and more than a few raised eyebrows when trying to converse in public. It doesn’t tell you that because Colitis is at its heart an auto immune condition and so now, every day and night is fight night. ‘Let’s get ready to RUMBLE!!!!! Introducing you in the red corner, fighting well .... also..... you, in the blue corner’. Confusing right?

But the very worst thing about Colitis, specifically the strain I have which Is Microscopic - Lymphocytic Colitis, (worth 85 points and a triple word score in scrabble) is that not even the professionals have a clue about it. There is so little information about it, especially here in the UK, it’s often misdiagnosed as something else, and the only way it is diagnosed is by biopsy under colonoscopy, which is something you have to beg plead, whine, grovel and cry for, So even though it says very clearly in my medical history that I have MC, the DR who diagnosed the shingles, probably would have had very little knowledge about it because as well as being classed as an invisible illness, it is also completely invisible in the pod of IBD diagnosis. If I said I had any other disease in the IBD family, you would have probably heard of it. Crohns, Ulcerative Colitis are known. Both are devastating. Both are classed as really challenging conditions and also in severe cases classed as a Disability. MC (Microscopic colitis) no one has a clue about. Microscopic makes it sound small and insignificant doesn’t it? Well after living with it for 8 months, It’s not small and its certainly not insignificant. In fact I can state with absolute confidence that it is completely devastating, confusing, maddening, upsetting and every other emotion you would associate with living with any other Long term Chronic disease. There are pages and pages and pages of information about IBD, but it makes me both sad and angry that there isn’t the same kind of profile, support, knowledge or help available for those of us that have MC, making living with it, understanding it and conquering it very sodding difficult.

At the beginning of my journey with MC, I wasn’t informed that I was sharing my body with an autoimmune disease. I had no idea that I would be spending all of my time trying to cajole a hyperactive immune system to stop spinning round in circles, calm down and take a nap. I had no clue, that there were going to be days where I would be in so much pain, I would learn creative new swear words that I would shout into a pillow, while I curl up in a ball, trying to get into any comfortable position that wasn’t hanging from the ceiling by my ankles and taking on the form of a bat. I didn’t know that I would be met with ‘questioning stares and raised eyebrows’ and helpful conversation starters like‘ You don’t look ill’ or ‘ oh well at least you know what’s going on now, just change your diet and everything will be fine’ and certainly not that there would be days I would feel so tired, it would feel like my brain was being submerged under water and I would start imagining people as giant, walking pillows, that I could happily snooze on whether they gave me permission or not. I was ignorant to the fact I would have to give up cake, cheese and all the yummy things I used to love because, by eating them I was turning my bowel into an angry, spiky porcupine, stabbing anything it touched with care free abandonment. Because these are the things they don’t tell you. They just tell you about the joyful toilet troubles. But I promise you. It’s not just that we have to deal with, we deal with a whole cacophony of bloody wonderment, and I wish that every time we had to discuss our disease, the whole process didn’t feel like we have to become a desperate salesmen, but instead of trying to persuade someone to buy a car, we are trying to get help or intervention to give us the best chance to exist harmoniously with this disease.

So, yet again I am enjoying an unwelcome tenant living in my body without paying rent. Yet again I am having to over explain my condition to a professional to try and get any form of treatment for a related autoimmune condition, and yet again I am having to shield myself from the world whilst this butt hole of an illness works its way out of my system. And then after all that fun, go back to dealing with the IBD until another squatter of an illness uses my body as its own personal cave, dwelling there until my body musters up the energy and enthusiasm to squeeze it out again. There’s no room for anything else and I truly worry if something else moves in whilst I am trying to recover from Shingles, I might spontaneously combust. But hey, maybe if I use a dust buster to hoover myself up and present myself as a little pile of dust with eyeballs and shoes in front of the DR, maybe just maybe, she will read my notes, understand my condition, actually show some sympathy and take me seriously instead of hoofing me out of the door. Well We live in hope eh?

U.S. Press Censors Biden Corruption Scandal

LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), Nov. 1, 2020.--Two days before the Nov. 3 presidential election, the mainstream broadcast and print media have blackballed an Oct. 14 story by the New York Post detailing evidence about 77-year-old Vice President Joe Biden’s corruption found on a disabled iBook at a Delaware computer shop. While the Biden campaign never denied the accuracy of the laptop’s contents, including incriminating emails between Hunter Biden’s contacts with Chinese officials showing Biden-family corruption, 60-year-old House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) called it Russian disinformation. Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe dismissed Schiff statements Oct. 19, saying the no U.S. intelligence agency called Hunter’s disabled laptop Russian disinformation. Yet the mainstream press has ignored the story because it could impact Biden in Nov. 3 presidential election.

When Hunter’s former business partner 48-year-old Tony Bobulinski came forward speaking on Fox News “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Oct. 28. he called Joe Biden a liar, saying publicly he was not involved in Hunter’s business transactions. Bobulinski supplied the FBI cell phones and emails proving that he met with Joe twice in 2017 on a China energy deal that netted the Biden family about $30 million. Bobulinski confirmed that Joe made deals through Hunter and his 75-year-old brother James while he was Vice President, disputing Biden’s claim in the Oct. 25 debate in Nashville that “he never took one penning from a foreign government, not ever,” knowing that Hunter and his brother Jim took the cash for him. Yet Bobulinski’s public testimony was not been disputed by anyone and was not reported in mainstream broadcast and print outlets, attesting to a conspiracy with the Biden campaign.

Whatever the contents of the story, the mainstream press cannot say there’s a lack of verified or confirmed facts related to a story to print because we all know how many stories they reported without facts about 74-year-old President Donald Trump’s alleged ties to Moscow. Today’s media blackout on Joe Biden’s corrupt business deals in China, Russia and Ukraine represents a clear violation of Federal Communication guidelines requiring credentialed news organizations to report the news without political censorship. Failure to report to the public compelling information that could alter one’s vote is a clear violation of news organizations under the First Amendment. Failure to report the facts to the public has robbed voters of the necessary facts to make an informed electoral decision. Failure to report compelling information on a presidential candidate is a shocking breach of journalistic ethics.

Whatever the outcome of Nov. 3, Trump has a right to file for injunctive relief in federal court against the Biden campaign and the media. The egregious cover-up could potentially put a potential felon into the Oval Office, all because the Biden campaign and the mainstream press blocked out the story. “We are witnessing what is arguably the biggest political scandal in American history. The bombshell allegations that have emerged concerning the Biden family and now corroborated by Tony Bobulinski, outline potential federal crime involving a man who seeks to be President of the United States. The American media are deliberately covering it up to protect Joe Biden’s campaign,” said Brent Bozell, founder of Media Research Center. Preventing the American public from having access to compelling evidence of Biden’s corruption reveals an undeniable conspiracy with the Democrat Party.

Bobulinskij went public with his story after hearing Joe Biden refer to the story as Russian disinformation. Bobulinski documented for the FBI that he met twice with Joe Biden, serving as CEO of a joint venture with his company SinoHawk in 2017 to put an energy deal together with China’s CEFC energy. Hunter discussed in emails the equal split with his business partners, demanding 10% for himself and 10% for the Big Guy, Joe.

Blacking out the Biden corruption scandal amounts to a criminal conspiracy between the Biden campaign and U.S. media. Only reported in Fox New, the New York Post and a handful of other conservative news sites, the mainstream press has covered for Joe fearing it would hurt his chances on Nov. 3. No American voter can take comfort knowing the U.S. Free Press has been corrupted by the Democrat Party, regardless of how one votes. It’s not the American way to use extreme censorship like what’s seen in state-run media in Communist and authoritarian regimes. Elected officials are the first to call out fake news reports in authoritarian regimes like Iran or Venezuela or communist regimes like China, Russia or North Korea. Watching the U.S. media censor coverage on the Biden scandal because of a criminal conspiracy with the Democrat Party shows systemic corruption in the American press.
