Like no offense. BUT like. Every far cry antagonist is haunted by women, and the protagonists are tormented by them. Lieeeeeeek….

1. Vaas is haunted by citra. He’s haunted by this twisted dynamic that citra feeds into, and vaas rejects it, but he’s constantly reminded of it.

Jason is both tormented by citra, but also, by liza. He’s tormented by liza, not by the failure of not being able to protect her, but the failure of his life that she reminds him of. She represents the normal, white-collar life that he’s been handed, yet rejects.

2. Pagan is haunted by lakshmana and ishwari. He somehow thinks he is above the pain of the loss of his love, and his heir, but it hurts. It’s a righteous hurt that he subconsciously takes out on every member of the Golden Path.

Ajay is tormented by amita, noore, yuma, and even bhadra. Amita, the strong tiger of Kyrat, torments Ajay by forcing his hand, by pushing him, by MAKING him act.

Noore, IMO is a representation of Ishwari, in ways. She is the desperate mother, the desperate wife. Ajay must have seen the same determination in Noore that he did his own mother, as twisted as it was.

Yuma, who torments Ajay because he represents everything that she despises (Ishwari.)

And then, there is Bhadra. Ajay sees nothing but innocence in her, but she is also everything his mother was. The Tarun Matara. He is tormented by his need to protect her, to do what is best for HER, not for Kyrat. He is trying to protect HIS MOTHER, who he sees in Bhadra.

I would also argue that Sabal is tormented by Bhadra, but for the opposite reasons than Ajay. While Ajay seeks to protect Bhadra’s innocence (and subconsciously, the memory of his mother,) Sabal seeks to protect her to enforce a legacy and traditionalist lifestyle that has been ingrained in him. He seeks to BE MOHAN GHALE, and so he seeks to POSSESS Bhadra, as he also seeks to POSSESS Ajay, who will always be what he isnt…Mohan’s son. His need to BE Mohan will ALWAYS take precedent, no matter the cost.

Also Lakshmana was the most important character in fc4, but you people arent ready for THAT hot take….

3. While all the seed brothers were affected by their mother, i would argue that joseph is the only seed brother to REALLY be affected by women in the far cry formula way. He is HAUNTED by the mother who he knew and loved, but who never knew and loved him. He searched for that in a woman, Megan, who then passed away. And then, in his despair, he took his own daughter’s life, too pained to bear the burden. And then he searched, and searched and searched, looking for that mother, that wife, that daughter, again and again, never finding it, only grasping onto whoever he could cram into the space, then discarding her when she didnt.

I would argue that, while John was Nick Rye’s Seed Brother, there’s better parallels between Nick and Joseph than John and Nick. Nick has everything that Joseph never could, without the devotion to the Lord, and Joseph envies it.

Then of course, in fcnd, these roles are reversed. The Twins are haunted by their father, while the Captain of Security is tormented by them, in turn. Though, i would say that Lou and Mickey are haunted in different ways. While Lou seeks to become stronger, more aggressive, more bloodthirsty than her father, Mickey seeks to create something that her father couldnt. She seeks to exert total control, to create a Highwaymen force that is organized, respected, feared.

Then, there’s Ethan, who is too busy being haunted by his father’s ever-encompassing presence to be bothered by the mother that dropped him off. Too busy being the Son Of Joseph Seed.

You are part of an elite squad, Hoyt spent millions on all four of you to help rid his island of the natives. In passing, you meet Vaas. Your friend and you end up becoming enamored with the pirate lord and his boss.

You are a native. You’d do anything to protect your family, even if that means becoming engaged to the island’s most ruthless pirate lord. (Part One, Part Two*, Part Three)

Citra trusts you with her life, but can you trust her with yours?

Hoyt and you both met through the same business, things go a little further than professional when he has you pinned to his desk.

You find out Vaas is actually a pirate lord, he makes a deal with you in promising to keep your friends alive and safe.

Michael Mando and you end up on the Vaas Montenegro Show together. You’ve worked together in the past, which makes the acting easier. Until he appears from the jungle with a Mohawk and a giant makeup scar on his head.

Farcry 4:

Pagan Min saves you from the resistance, and you end up becoming his assistant, among other things.

Ajay is having a hard time coping with all the destruction he’s caused, and then he meets you.

Sabal’s restrictive and abusive behavior crosses a line, and you put him in his place.

Amita and you are like sisters, until she forces you to choose between the old traditions and drug smuggling.

Pagan Min captures you, hoping to torture you personally. The torture turns into something completely different. (Part One, Part Two*)

Hurk and you bond over old times on the Rook Islands, while Ajay listens in horror. Then he mentions his hometown, and more interested in you coming home with him than you might think.

Farcry 5:

Your sister and you end up in Hope County, only to be pulled into its growing cult base. Needless to say, the Seed brothers take an interest in you both.

“The name’s Huntley, I have a job for you if you are interested. It involves killing some people, but I’m sure that won’t be a problem for you. Give me a call back ASAP.”

Hurk and you reminisce over old times in Kyrat and Rook, while the Deputy listens. Then Hurk confesses his undying love for you.

Sharky Bowshaw and you are absolute pyros, things get a little carried away after a certain mission with the two of you.

Jacob and you had been friends for so long, then you are sent to arrest his brother.

John takes an interest in you, considering that you are the head of his opposition in court.

You want to join the military, Jacob Seed promises he’ll help you get there.

Joseph and you sip from the wrong cup, leading to some interesting interactions.

Faith puts into a fever dream and some weird stuff happens.

Adelaide and you bond over how hot all the Seed siblings are.

You take over John Seed’s ranch, have some me time in his bed, only to find that he was watching the whole thing on his secret security cameras.

You save Faith from Joseph’s clutches.

You were only dating “insert seed sibling” for a few weeks before you both were shoved into a bunker and forced to live together for seven years. (John/Smut)

You paint Joseph for him, then he starts peeling off clothing.

you've heard of ajay and jason co-workers au now get ready for... Far Cry Ltd. (now everyone is co-workers.)

It's a logistics and security company

Hoyt is the COO and everyone knows he's using the cargos to smuggle sketchy things too but they can't really prove it

Vaas is head of the security team who Hoyt scouted from a rival security company (now run by Citra)

Pagan's dad used to be the biggest stakeholder of the company and that's how he got the job as CMO

Despite being CMO he kinda hands most of his business decisions to his executive assistant Yuma, marketing manager Paul "de Pleur" Harmon, and PR manager Noore Najjar.

The FC5 cast are divided into both divisions/neither.

John works for a third party legal corporation that is the representative for Far Cry Ltd. -- he acts all buddy buddy with the sherrifs and deputies when they come knocking.

Jacob works with Vaas in security.

Faith works with Noore in PR.

Joseph is the office cryptid because nobody really knows what he does or if he even works in the building but legend says sometimes if you pee at odd hours you can hear "I see you, child." from one of the stalls.

HR has been notified.

the CEO barely shows his face but his pre-teen son Diego occassionally hangs around in the office, probably as a way to intimidate people to work. it doesn't really work cus Diego is just awkwardly standing there while most people get annoyed he's breathing down their necks.

Jason is a security analyst who got in the company to work under Vaas on a mission by Citra to spy on how he does things and report back to her but he's a horrible actor and everyone knows.

also Vaas enjoys making him do assistant shit

Ajay's official title is a pretty high-ranking job but his time is devoted to just dousing office dramas and fixing shitty data entry for the accounting team (who's been focusing more in their power-struggle between Sabal and Amita, the two top accountants instead of actually doing decent work) to prevent a full-blown IRS audit

Ajay doesn't even want this job but he got it after his mom pulled some strings with her old flame Pagan and it feels a little awkward and shitty to just quit so soon after her death

Dani is an intern in the warehousing units who regrets picking this company and is about to kill her counselor: Juan, who recommended her to work here

Ajay and Jason take smoke breaks together and bitch about their division and when Dani found their secret bitching spot accidentally she's immediately part of the gang
