Goofy Joe Tazuna headcanons because I miss him😔

Dips anything into milkshakes. Fries, chicken nuggets, pizza, pasta- anything.

One time Ryoko and Sara got him a fake plant for his birthday, Joe thought it was real and cried when they eventually told him it was fake.

Is a GOD at piano but no one believes him.

Joe once managed to do his homework without copying Sara's (he got most of the answers wrong though but at least he tried)

Is actually quite good at saving money

Washes his dog keychain daily.

His hair is so crispy and sticky from the amount of hairspray + gel he uses that if you try run a comp through, it would just bounce off

Gets dress coded ALOT at school. (Multiple earpiercings, not wearing uniform correctly, 2 many accessories)

Already knew Santa didnt exist at the age of 6 but continued to pretend he did for fun.

He Listens to gyaru playlists on youtube and spotify (could also totally see him unironically listening to cupcakke)

Fuck Shin Tsukimi not having a job, I think he should have every job. Kai goes to the grocery store to buy eggs and Shin's there scanning items at checkout. Gin visits the local animal shelter and Shin is trying to feed a feral cat. Joe tries to sneak into the club and guess which wimpy bastard is the bouncer.

listen. i dont want to make things needlessly edgy. especially in a game like yttd where it manages to bypass that in places others wouldnt. however. would anyone else like to consider a secretly depressed joe tazuna with me. keep in mind- this isnt me basing this idea off any evidence within the game. happy, mentally fufilled joe is the intended canon as far as i can tell- or at least chronically depressed joe is probably not the intended idea. so this is practically an AU. but to me- to me- theres something so narratively interesting about a joe tazuna who was going to kill himself either way. who had a quiet, contemplative, and even hateful side- but only directed to himself. who was incredibly good at keeping that hidden. who enjoys being around some quiet and serious like sara, who wants to see her dark side shes afraid of, not out of blind trust or a one-sided friendship but in the sense that he has that side he wants no one to see, thats too sad. him being a person who is always morphing himself a bit- change your haircut, add pins, consider this- always in a state of being a little unsatisfied with himself. someone who befriends everyone but stays on the surface as much as possible. always making other people happy but never for himself. emotionally intelligent enough to know that people see him as stupid and vapid and feel insecure about that, but never willing to seek comfort, because if he really is that dumb, what else does he have to offer to other people but keeping the mood light? so he cant drop being happy all the time. a joe tazuna who was a ticking time bomb no one knew about. a joe tazuna who slips into the role of lying to everyone in order to save sara so easily when he gets the sacrifice card because he has always lied to everyone and has always wanted to die.

Guys the reason Joe was in Sara’s house is because he was waiting outside to make sure the stalker didn’t follow her/wanted to make sure she was inside safe. That’s why he came in without warning guys he’s not evil ☹️☹️☹️

imagining yttd characters with a partner pokemon and the image in my head is too cutee.

shin with an espeon because he canonically likes cats. he probably wanted an umbreon to match the cat plush in sou’s room but eevee followed him to work on a day shift and evolved, but he loves his partner anyways :)

sara with umbreon because she wanted a black cat in the manga. the type matchups make sense to me with shin having the weaker matchup.

gin with a growlithe and q-taro with an arcanine would be so cuteee. they’re father and son to me idc 😭

joe with a rockruff omlll. his uniform would always be a little roughed up because he can never resist playing with his partner!!

a zorua would go so well with reko’s color scheme aaaaa. maybe having it use rain dance during live venues to preform with her!!

nao with an altaria because the artbook said she likes fluffy thingss. i could totally see her napping with an altaria. little bit angsty here, but maybe a mishima’s smergle she raises after his death

alice with a zebstrika or furret because he likes striped things. i like to imagine his pokemon would occasionally bicker with reko’s zorua, but get their ass beat every time 😭

kai would have a ghost time to freak the yabusames out like he did in ytts. maybe a sableye or a yamask, but i feel like he would look so cunty with a froslass!!

i have no reason for this one but keiji with a gible makes sense in my head. idk… i can just see him doing his best to calm down a rambunctious gible that’s chasing the other participants around.

anzu with a blacephalon because its clownlike and not as off-putting as mr mime. i don’t like mr. mime, and i also feel like it’d be an uncreative cop-out to give her.

kuramada with a primape or hitmonlee that he spars with from time to time. they have specially tailored boxing gloves :”)

mai with a fidough. no explanation needed. your honor, they have matching bread hats!! she lets her partner help in the kitchen and just prays the fda doesn’t swing by.

i imagine kanna with a sweets themed pokemon bc of her pudding bucket in ytts. maybe a milcery or alcremie. i imagine shin’s espeon has a timid nature and she has to let it slowly warm up to her and her partner pokemon.

i feel like hinako would have a giant terrifying ass pokemon, slightly due to the fact that she’s intimidating and mysterious herself. mostly due to the fact that i think it would be really funny for the shortest character to have a giant scary pokemon lurking behind them.

ranmaru is kinda gloomy, so i feel like he would empathize well with a mimikyu and they would bond in no time. his partner is terrified of sara’s umbreon and every time he tries to approach her, mimikyu panics and he gives up. poor guy :(

hayasaka with a really mischievous rotom that he cannot control is a really cute image in my head, so i’m giving him that

Yesterday I went roller skating with my friends (it was great fun), and it inspired me to come up with Headcanons for if some of the YTTD cast did aswell!

•First of all, Nao and Joe are both really good at it, they probably do it a lot as a hobby and can do some cool tricks without breaking their necks! :D

•Reko, on the other hand, is complete dogshit at it, she cannot go more than a minute without falling over.

•Sara, while not as bad as Reko, isn’t perfect at it, and gets embarrassed and/or frustrated whenever she falls over.

(I wasn’t bothered to make this doodle digital lmao)

•Sou, maybe being new to skating, makes sure to stick near a fence or wall to cling to if he gets close to falling.

•Kanna, also being new to it, feels no fear, and has a great time going fast and trying to jump and stuff, after all, falling over is a part of the experience. Sou gets a heart attack whenever she does this.

•Keiji would immediately fall over as soon as he has skates on and give up. He is doing perfectly fine on solid footing thank you very much.

I've been drawing on paper because my computer fucking broke, so I'll share my drawings with you guys <3

Since I'm stuck in the car for several hours I have decided to make headcanons for the yttd characters while travelling by car and their preferred seat (yes they are all travelling together but some take their own car and/or carpool with certain people)

Keiji: driving. If on his his own the radio is never in use and will complain complain if someone else uses it

Q-taro: unable to fit in the car with everyone else has to drive on his own. Only listens to sports channels and it drives everyone apart from Joe insane. Also a BMW driver.

Sou: Passenger seat. Absolute radio Nazi he will get in the car and take over the radio. Takes no music suggestions at all. Nobody can stop him because he just hijacks the Bluetooth.

Sara: left window seat in the back. Usually has earphones in and looks at the scenery or reads while in the car.

Joe: right window seat in the back. Sleeps for the entire journey. The second he gets in the car he is knocked out but if someone opens food of any sort he snaps awake.

Gin: middle seat between Joe and Sara. Falls asleep and leans his head onto Sara. Nobody knows if it's on purpose or not.

Mishima: own car. Probably listens to classical music or science podcasts and complains about inaccuracies.

Nao: Passenger seat with Mishima. Listens to the podcasts with Mishima and probably has a sketchbook specifically for car journeys

Reko: enjoys company but usually travels on her own because she blasts heavy metal at high volumes nonstop. It is a miracle she is not deaf. Gin is physically unable to stay in her car.

Alice: refuses to travel with others. Drives in complete silence. Does not stop between point A and point B

Kai: uninvited for the journey. If he's invited he usually prefers drives on his own and listen to cooking podcasts

Kanna: doesn't mind where she sits or which car she's in. Usually travels with Sara and Joe. Watches shows on her phone and sleeps

I think you should make headcanons about the yttd cast playing Mario Kart

Alright!!! Ty for the ask!!

This is how I think the YTTD cast play Mario Kart:

(Spoilers for the 1st Main game)

Sara - Like most things, Sara gets super competitive when it comes to Mario Kart, and if someone beats her at it she’ll refuse to speak to them for at least a week. (And she sticks to it, even if it’s Gin). She’ll always play as Daisy.

Sou - He’s been playing the game almost all his life, and is a pro. Like Sara, he is really competitive and will most likely end up yelling if it isn’t going going well for him. I can see him playing as Shy-Guy.

*Sara and Sou will curse and insult anyone who passes them out

Joe - He’s pretty good at the game, and tends to get playfully competitive, but unlike some people (Cough cough Sou and Sara) he doesn’t curse anyone out while doing so. He chooses a different character to play as every time, but he’s particularly fond of Mario and Yoshi.

Kanna - She loves playing the game, though most of her experience of it is constantly getting her ass beat by Kugie, and unfortunately not much has changed when she plays with the others (Once again cough cough Sou and Sara) though she has gotten weirdly good at throwing green shells accurately. I think she’d play as Peach.

Gin - He gets so excited whenever they start playing, and he’s actually quite good at the game. Though he has started to take after Sara and Sou and will tell people to kill themselves if they wrong him while playing. He’d play as either Bowser or Donkey Kong.

Keiji - My guy cannot play this game for shit, whenever they play courses that you can fall off the edge of, that’s how he spends the whole race. Like everyone else would finish and would just be waiting a solid ten minutes for him to cross the finish line. Also he always plays as Rosalina, I just know he does.

Reko - Her and Alice have been extremely competitive at this game since the dawn of time, though she went a little easy on Gin and Kanna at the start, until Gin saw right through it and told her to actually try. She does her best to refrain from yelling/cursing at the two of them (she does slip up from time to time, but she does her best). But anyone else and it’s on sight, she is not holding back (ESPECIALLY Alice and Sou. She will bring up traumatic childhood experiences and every insecurity Alice has ever had just to throw him off during a race). She mains Waluigi.

Alice - Like almost everyone else on this list so far, he is also competitive, though when playing with ppl like Sou, Sara, Reko half of the time, and even Gin on a few occasions, he usually ends up losing, so he spends most of the time either screaming “fuck you” at anyone and everyone (except maybe Kanna) or muttering angrily to himself as he plays. I think he’d play as Dry Bones.

Kai - I haven’t played/seen his minisode but from what I do know abt him I doubt he had much experience with the game as a child, so he’s mostly new to it. I feel like he’s a quick learner though, and would be on the higher end of the cast in terms of skill. Unlike the others, though, he is completely silent as he plays. I get the vibes that he’d play as a Koopa Troopa.

Q-Taro - He’s not the greatest at the game, and has yet to win a race, though he blames it on the stupid shells, and makes sure to mention that at least he can play real sports (glance at Sou). He always plays as Bowser.

Nao - She’s alright at the game, like Joe she gets playfully competitive, and has accepted the fact that she almost always loses. She’d play as Baby Bowser or Wendy.

Mishima - Whenever someone asks him to play it with them, he politely declines, as he’s seen what that game does to the group. The only time he would play it is if it’s only Kanna, Nao and/or Gin (though he’s quickly removing Gin from that list bc the terrible swearing habit he’s developed). He’d either pick a random character or Lakitu when he does play.

Other related HCs:

-There was one time where Nao, to the shock of everyone (her included), somehow managed to beat Sou on Rainbow Road and has yet to shut up about it (This is a reference to something that happened irl, and like Nao I have yet to shut up about it).

-Sara and Sou, as mentioned, yell a lot while playing, but it gets so much worse when they’re playing against each other because they keep escalating the things they say to each other, attacking at each other’s biggest insecurities and stuff (Like Reko to Alice lol).

-Once in a particularly intense 1V1 race with Sara and Sou, Joe decided it’d be funny to unplug whatever console they were playing on before the race ended, just to see their reaction. And that’s how Joe actually died.
