interesting thing about part 9 is it’s the first part i’ve read where i didn’t have any sort of existing perception of the color palettes, so i actually was able to come up with my own interpretations / “headcanons” for the different characters color schemes. it’s been mostly really cool but unfortunately it means every time i see green usagi i just think about how wrong it is

jodio is wearing hatsune miku's sonic costume because he's blue and the main character. but i feel like he would like shadow more. usagi could've been tails but he's a rabbit so he's cosplaying cream.

why is jodio being so dramatic here? did he not get the hedgehog he wanted?

Jojolands 22 Talk

I feel like this chapter is really hinting that Charming Man and his clan are some sort of Rock Organisms.

They have very similar traits to the rock humans from part 8, however I believe they're either a sub-species or a branch species. We know Rock Humans are tough and have longer life spans, They come primarily from more remote areas and warmer climates (as seen in part 8 where most of the rock creatures & the rokakaka came from warmer islands. The main reason I think they're not the exact same species is the implications of their reproduction. "Mothers teach to children" pretty directly implies that the mother and child stay together unlike the part 8 rock humans. However this is just vague enough to where "mothers" could mean the wasps they parasitize. Rock creatures tend to end up together for whatever reason which would make sense here considering the line "Has rough rock-like earthworms and moles too." They could also be some sort of rock organism. But there is one final possibility. Charming Man's Clan's land could be cursed (or maybe blessed?). We've seen in previous parts that areas of land can be blessed and cursed to have effects on their residents. It's possible that his clan is comprised of normal people who have just been under the effect of their land's curse and that's why they have rough skin, same for the animals within the land. The fact Araki has been bringing this plot point back up repeatedly makes me pretty confident we're going to get an answer to this by the end of the part at least.
