“Not enough of you are making Geto suguru the pathetic whiny man that I believe he is” I shuffle my notes card as I bump the mic and I’m booed off stage. I hear lone cheering in the back. The stage lights are too bright as I search for the sound. There the person is in the back, my sole supporter “She’s right”, they say. It’s Gojo Satoru

It sucks being Yuji when his mom possesses the body of his teacher's ex and then his uncle who hates him also has a thing for that very same teacher who makes it no better being a flirt. And also that same mom was the wife to his dad who is the reincarnation of his uncle's twin who was eaten by him (that uncle) in the womb.

It took far longer than expected to decide what to bake, the two of you having an almost playful argument about every suggestion that came up. For someone who insisted they didn’t care what you made, Yuji sure had a lot to say. “I thought you were gonna let me choose,” you sighed dramatically, voice laced with frustration. “But here you are, arguing about everything.” Yuji shot you a grin over his shoulder, his breath puffing in little clouds against the cold air. “I am letting you choose! But cookies? Come on, that’s too easy.” “Then what do you want to make, huh?” You crossed your arms, irritated by his back-and-forth. The snow swirled in lazy, flake-filled gusts around you, and your breath came out in little white puffs. He shrugged, his movements quick and energetic despite the chill. “Cupcakes, then. But those are basically cookies with extra steps.”
You stopped dead in your tracks, letting the snowflakes dust your hair and shoulders. “Really, Yuji? If you don’t hurry up, I’m going home.” The bite in your tone matched the sharpness of the wind cutting through the streets.
Yuji stopped too, pivoting on his heel as he turned to face you with a dramatic sigh. “Fine, fine, cupcakes it is.” His voice had a mocking edge, though the hint of a smile tugged at his lips. “But I’m picking the frosting.” You rolled your eyes, forcing yourself to keep walking as he jogged backward in front of you, dodging the fresh flakes building up on the ground. “Why do you keep running ahead?” you asked, breath catching in your throat as you began to jog, trying to catch up with him.
He laughed, a rich, carefree sound that seemed to echo in the quiet snowfall. “Can’t keep up?” he teased, voice dripping with playful challenge. Without giving you a chance to answer, he sped up, long legs eating the distance between you and the Walmart in a matter of seconds. “Gotta go fast to get those cupcakes!” A groan escaped your lips as you increased your pace, feet slipping a little in the snow as you chased after him. No matter how hard you tried, Yuji was always faster, his mischievous smile still taunting you from ahead. “You’re unbelievable,” you muttered, stopping once you reached the store, barely able to catch your breath. Yuji was already inside, holding a basket and grinning. “Ready?” He extended his hand to you, fingers warm from holding the basket as he tugged you into the first aisle.
“Eggs, flour, sugar…” He named off the essentials in rapid succession, grabbing each item with an ease that came naturally to him. But you didn’t mind. You were too focused on the way his hands seemed to move effortlessly, the way his movements were so full of energy. When you spotted a bag of sugar on the top shelf, you stood on your tiptoes, your fingers just brushing against it. You stretched a little further, frustration building as you realized it was just out of reach. Suddenly, Yuji appeared beside you, effortlessly grabbing the bag and dumping it into the basket. “You were so close,” he teased, a playful glint in his eyes.
You narrowed your eyes at him, huffing. “You’re such a show-off.”
But Yuji’s grin widened, undeterred. “Mhm, so close, yet so far,” he chuckled, clearly enjoying every moment of teasing. As the shopping continued, you couldn’t help but notice the way Yuji kept glancing at you. His eyes lingered as you carefully arranged the items in the basket, your hands steady and deliberate as you stacked everything neatly. He stared at you for a moment too long, and your own gaze flickered to him, catching the expression on his face. It was soft—distracted, almost. His eyes were warm, and for a brief second, you wondered if there was more behind the easy-going exterior he usually wore.
Your voice pulled him back to the present, shaking him out of his trance. “Yuji? Did we forget anything?”
“Huh?” He blinked, momentarily disoriented. “Oh, uh, no. I think that’s it.” You smiled, but his eyes didn’t leave your face. His cheeks flushed a little, and he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, his usual confidence slipping for a brief moment. “Are you okay?” you asked, tilting your head with genuine curiosity.
“Yeah! Just—uh, yeah, I’m fine!” He quickly looked away, trying to cover his embarrassment with a nervous laugh. You raised an eyebrow but didn’t push further. It was only when you reached for your credit card to pay that Yuji made another move. Before you could swipe it from your phone case, his hand shot out to stop you, his fingers brushing yours in the process. You looked up, surprised.
“No, I’m paying,” he said firmly, his voice a little softer than usual, but still with that familiar grin. He was already tapping his card on the machine, not giving you a chance to protest.
“What?” You stared at him in mild disbelief. “Yuji, it’s not that much, I don’t mind.”
“Too bad,” he said, with a mischievous glint in his eyes. “I insist.”
You sighed in resignation but couldn’t help the warmth that crept up your neck at his gesture. It was a simple thing, but somehow it made your chest feel full—something about the way he always went out of his way to do things for you, even when it was just a small act like this.
The cashier handed him the receipt, and he scooped up the bag, holding it out to you. “Shall we?” he asked, his voice a little lower now.
You smiled softly, taking the bag from him. “Yeah, let’s go.”
As you both left the store, the snow continued to fall, soft flakes drifting in the chilly air. But even the cold couldn’t touch the warmth inside you, the strange fluttering sensation that had settled in your chest. You didn’t know exactly what it was, but somehow, being with Yuji, in this moment, felt like everything was just right.
You both had finally agreed to bake together in your dorm after what felt like an endless series of playful arguments. The radio hummed softly in the background, adding to the atmosphere as you worked. Yuji, as usual, was a mess. Flour seemed to stick to everything he touched, and before long, the powdery white dust found its way onto the tip of your nose. Yuji grinned, his eyes twinkling mischievously. “You look like one of Santa’s reindeer, but, like, if they had white noses instead of red ones,” he joked for what felt like the hundredth time that night.
“You’re seriously so unfunny,” you retorted, fighting back a laugh.
You couldn’t help but smile at the sight of him. His face was smeared with flour, and his clothes were decorated with egg shells. It was hard not to laugh at how utterly charming he managed to look, even in the middle of a disaster.
But, then, your gaze drifted lower. Yuji had rolled his sleeves up halfway, revealing his toned arms. You couldn’t tear your eyes away, even as he lifted his top to wipe off some cupcake batter, giving you an unexpected view of his bare torso. You quickly averted your eyes, suddenly acutely aware of the warmth creeping up your neck.
“Yeah… this isn’t going to work,” Yuji mused, lifting his shirt higher, his chest now fully exposed. You heard him walk off to the living room in search of his bag.
You stood frozen for a moment, still trying to get your bearings after the unexpected sight, trying not to think too much about what had just happened.
“Oops, sorry! Am I making you uncomfortable?” he called back from the living room, completely oblivious to the fact that you were now feeling self-conscious about the situation.
“You’re really asking me that while standing nearly nude in my kitchen?” you laughed it off, though inside, you were anything but calm. You quickly went to work, grabbing the tray of cupcakes and sliding them into the oven, trying to focus on anything but the sudden shift in your emotions.
“Ah, my bad. I’ll be back in a sec.” Yuji returned to the kitchen, now wearing a fresh shirt. He sat down opposite you, looking at you with that usual easygoing smile as if nothing had happened. You, on the other hand, busied yourself with cleaning the kitchen island, trying to shake off the heat still lingering in your cheeks.
“How long do we have to wait?” Yuji asked, leaning back slightly in his chair, his voice casual but his gaze never leaving you.
“About an hour,” you replied, your tone unfazed, though you could feel the weight of his attention on you. It was unsettling, but in a way that made your chest flutter. You weren’t sure if it was the nerves of being close to him or the strange weight of your thoughts.
As the minutes ticked by, your mind wandered back to the night before. The laughter, the friendly teasing, the way everyone had come together to hang decorations and exchange jokes. It had been nice. For the first time in a while, you hadn’t been trapped in your own head, overthinking everything. But now, sitting here, you couldn’t shake the worry gnawing at you. What did Yuji really think of you? Was he just a friend, or was there something more between you? You weren’t even sure what you wanted from him, but the memory of his earnest words—the way he had looked at you, so determined that you deserved to be cared for—stuck with you. And you couldn’t seem to escape the way he made you feel.
Yuji watched you carefully, noticing the way your expression changed. He had asked you if you were okay so many times before, only to have you brush him off. This time, though, something in your demeanor told him you weren’t okay, and the concern was evident on his face. He hesitated, unsure whether it was his place to press further. But the silence between you felt thick with unspoken words, and he couldn’t help but wonder if you were drifting away again.
You snapped out of your thoughts when you felt his gaze on you. His eyes were soft, but there was an unmistakable concern there. It was like everything else in the room fell away as the two of you locked eyes, your heart rate picking up.
“Are… you okay?” Yuji asked quietly, his voice gentle, unsure if he was crossing a line.
You froze, unsure of how to answer. Was it really okay to let him in, to let him see the confusion and uncertainty swirling inside of you?
Before you could say anything, he added, “You just look… a little lost in thought. You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.”
You sat there for a moment, unsure of what to say or even how to feel. It wasn’t just that Yuji cared; it was the way he made you feel like you didn’t have to carry everything on your own. Maybe that was the hardest part to admit—that part of you was scared of what might happen if you let him see all of you.
The smell of cupcakes filled the room, the quiet tension between you and Yuji grew. You found yourself unable to shake the weight of your thoughts, and despite how much you wanted to keep it all in, something inside you cracked. You had to tell him.
The silence between you both had shifted from comfortable to heavy, and you couldn’t ignore the urge to explain, to let Yuji see why you’d been pulling away so much.
“You know,” you began, your voice softer than you intended, “there’s a reason I have a hard time trusting people.”
Yuji’s gaze snapped to you, his brows furrowing with concern, but he didn’t interrupt. He just waited, his fingers absently tracing the rim of his mug. You took a deep breath, gathering the courage to share something so vulnerable.
“At my old school, there was a guy. I was close to him but I only saw him as a close friend. He ended up liking me, but when I tried to gently reject his feelings, he didn’t take it well. He pressured me, manipulated me into saying yes, and once I did, everything changed. It wasn’t a relationship. It was more like being controlled. Every time I tried to end it, he guilt-tripped me, threatened to ruin my reputation.” You paused, your throat tightening, the memories still painful.
Yuji’s expression softened, his eyes filled with sympathy. You pushed forward, though, trying to get the words out before you lost your nerve. “When I finally stood up for myself and broke it off, he spread rumors about me. Said I used him, played with his emotions. Everyone believed him. I had no friends left. No safe space. I couldn’t take it anymore… so I transferred schools. I don’t know who to trust anymore.”
The weight of your confession hung in the air, and you noticed your hands were trembling slightly. You hadn’t realized just how much you had buried inside until now. Yuji watched you with intense focus, his face softening with every word, his expression both sad and understanding.
“I’m sorry,” Yuji murmured, his voice gentle as he leaned forward slightly. “You didn’t deserve that. No one should ever make you feel like that.”
Your chest felt tight, but there was a slight sense of relief in the rawness of the moment. Yuji was listening, truly listening.
After a beat, he continued, “I know it’s hard, but… every time I trust someone, it backfires. I’m scared of it happening again.”
Yuji’s eyes softened even more as he reached across the table, his hand brushing lightly over yours. His fingers were warm, solid. “I can’t promise I’ll be perfect,” he said, his voice filled with sincerity. “But I promise I’ll try to be the kind of friend you need.“
His words hung in the air between you, and for a moment, the world seemed to stop. Yuji wasn’t just saying the right things. He was saying them with a kind of quiet determination, and his eyes held the weight of everything he’d said.
You felt the familiar flutter in your chest, but it wasn’t just nerves this time. It was a kind of reassurance, something warm and safe. And when you looked into his eyes, you saw the sincerity in them—he wasn’t going anywhere.
“You really mean that?” you asked softly, your voice barely above a whisper.
Yuji smiled, his whole face lighting up. “Yeah. I do.”
As the conversation lingered, Yuji’s mind began to race. He hadn’t expected this—hadn’t expected you to open up like this, to trust him with something so deep, so painful. He wasn’t sure what to do with the surge of emotions flooding his chest. He’d always cared about you, but now, it felt different. It wasn’t just about being there for a friend. There was something more.
Yuji shifted in his seat, trying to find the words that felt right. He ran a hand through his messy hair, avoiding your eyes for a moment, unsure of how to put it into words.
“ I don’t really know why I care so much,” he admitted, his voice softer than usual. “I don’t even know why I feel like this. It’s not like I planned for it to happen. You just… you’ve always been there, y’know? But now it’s like, every time I think about you, I feel this pull. Like I’m more than just your friend, but I don’t know what that means.”
His words came out in a rush, the confusion in his voice apparent. He didn’t have an answer for why he felt this way about you, but it was impossible to ignore the growing sense that it was more than just friendship. But he didn’t want to complicate things more than they already were.
Your eyes softened as you processed his words. You could see the internal struggle behind his usual carefree demeanor. There was something there, something he wasn’t ready to admit, maybe not even to himself.
Before you could say anything else, the oven timer suddenly rang, cutting through the heavy silence and shifting the atmosphere in an instant. The tension between you both broke as you both jumped slightly at the sound.
“Guess the cupcakes are ready,” Yuji said, his voice light, the moment of vulnerability fading away for now.
You stood up, trying to shake off the emotional weight of the conversation. “Yeah, guess so,” you replied, your voice a little steadier now. You both made your way to the oven, and just like that, the moment passed. But something in the air between you had changed—something unspoken, something that would linger long after the cupcakes were gone.
For the first time in a long time, you allowed yourself to feel a little less afraid. Maybe trusting someone wouldn’t be as terrifying as it seemed. Maybe, with Yuji, it could be different.

btw the idea of the epilogue giving ozawa screentime doesn't piss me off because i'm a delusional itafushi shipper who convinced herself that it was gonna be canon (it's shonen jump, of course they're not gonna make two guys kiss), but because it feels cheap, unearned, and out of place.
first of all, gege didn't even want to include that chapter in the manga. it was his editor who convinced him that there was need for a slice-of-life chapter, and something that will make yuuji's character even more lovable and show his kindness and humanity. the chapter did exactly that. it showed that even though yuuji's type is a tall girl with a big butt, when he's forced to pick (forced, because at first he says he doesn't like anyone, so it's not like he was harboring a secret crush on ozawa) he picks ozawa because he notices certain qualities in her that others don't, and that's what matters in the end. yuuji's type doesn't mean he's superficial and doesn't value personality.
second of all, the fact that gege didn't force romance on his characters is part of what makes jujutsu kaisen great. i think yuuji's arc is very compelling without any romantic subplots. it doesn't take anything away from his story if he doesn't have a love interest. it makes his journey feel much more genuine and relatable, and also shows that romance doesn't have to be part of everyone's story to be considered a complete one. if it had been built up and hinted at during the series, i'd have no problem with it, but to give him a love interest after the story is already over, and a completely random one at that, is a disservice to his arc. it doesn't feel earned. it just feels like "oh, i forgot to add romance so let's stick a girl in here and make her confess to the main character."
third, the only explanation i have for ozawa being added as an epilogue character is that it's supposed to be fanservice. like, it's common in shonen manga for the mangaka to address or confirm the romantic interest of characters in an epilogue or at the very end. we saw this recently with mha, we saw it happen with naruto, and now it might happen in jujutsu kaisen. the difference is, in jjk, there wasn't any sort of set-up apart from a long forgotten chapter about the female character liking yuuji. now, if it's fanservice, i'm thinking, how about considering the fans? cause, the most popular ship for yuuji isn't itazawa, i can tell you that. if you're gonna throw the fans a bone, give them the bone they want.
anyway. i know it's silly to rant about the epilogue before we even know what's in it. but, realistically, what other purpose could ozawa have in the epilogue besides the one above?
so yes, i am worried about the epilogue, but i'll keep my expectations low and hope for the best.

I feel frustrated by Megumi's scars... I love this concept, but... ugh...
I also think Megumi is having a really hard time with everything that happened to him, and I really wanted to draw that.

I can understand wanting to further explore the other characters, but Ozawa? What is there to know about her? I would like to know more about Inumaki than her tbh but okay let's see what Gege is cooking
Anyway, I think for Uraume, it's either gonna be the right against Hakari or a Heian era flashback. For Nobara, it might be about her relationship with Fumi and/or Saori. And for Panda, it might be more info about him and his siblings and Yaga.
