sweet as honey ⊹ kim geon-woo, bloodhounds no description of the reader. established relationship between geon-woo and reader in some headcanons. hints at being intimate (no smut or nsfw though). kissing. swearing.
Tumblr media
i was gonna do a love language type of thing but then i realized i had more general headcanons than anything 😭.
but anyways, let’s start. he’s such a gentleman.
most definitely opens the door for you everywhere you go. doesn’t believe you should ever touch a door.
if he finds that you don’t have a seat while waiting for something and nobody is getting to give you a seat when there are none available, he’s standing up from his sit and allowing you to sit down.
doesn’t talk much so if you talk louder, seems to get peoples attention more or tend to speak up, he’s definitely liking that about you.
loves taking you out when he has time.
likes cooking with you- especially if you don’t know how to he’s just smiling at you while you mess up and ask him for help.
goes on small errands that you need to run with you because why not???
his mother most definitely gives the two of you matching nicknames. like two korean nicknames that sound so well together and she calls you them all the time.
imagine patching him up after a long night and him just loving the comfortable silence between the two you.
his mom knows your order by heart so every time you come in she’s doesn’t even have to ask.
spends the money that he wins from championships on you and does it with pride.
does it to see your pretty face light up and doesn’t give a damn how much it was. doesn’t even tell you if you ask.
do you have a favorite color? he’s buying things in that color that he knows you’ll like.
you’ll most definitely have random packages showing up on your doorstep and be confused as hell. but once you remember you have such a giving boyfriend, you’ll facetime him and he’d be like “sorry, i forgot to tell you. i thought you’ll like it” with such a cuutttee smile.
he’ll maybe even get a little worried that you don’t like it so once you convince him you love it, you can tell by the way he’s smiling that you’re only fueling his fire.
if you don’t like when he spends gifts on you because you want him to have it for himself he’s only gonna shake his head, with a smile and push more gifts your way. he’s sooooo sweet!!!
is gentle with you when you’re intimate. gives a soft “is this okay?” before doing anything.
will do anything in his power to keep you safe. tries to keep you out of harms way in every way possible.
woo-jin is low key mad that you took geon-woo away from him so if all of you are together he’s making his way into hugs, glaring at the two of you when you kiss and just doing the most.
and i can just see geon-woo trying to break the ice by telling him “you’re still my best friend” but woo-jin would be “yeah, she is too!”
also imagine them practicing together in the ring and woo-jin’s like “so is she coming with us to lunch?” and geon-woo can hear the annoyance in his voice. (he laughs at it too)
it’s all jokes though. he loves you fr but doesn’t wanna admit it like with geon-woo when they first became friends.
if he sees something he thinks you’ll like he’s picking it up immediately. it’s not for sell? he’s throwing money at the lady until she says yes 😭.
if you like working out, he’s you’re guy. it’s more time y’all can spend together and he loves it. (i love the push up counting him and woo-jin do, it’s sooooo fucking cute bruh!)
doesn’t spend much of his money on himself so if you give him a gift he’s smiling and cheesing hard.
i can’t decide whether he would be a forehead kisser or cheek kisser. but he definitely kisses you softly on the lips. i thinks he likes kisses on his forehead though.
likes when you hold the side of his head when you kiss.
catches himself staring at you, just admiring you and if you catch him, just know he’s shy about it but doesn’t do too much to act like he wasn’t looking.
if you wear glasses, i think he’ll really like them on you. in like a, “i’m gonna stare at you because you look really cute” type of thing. i just think he would love them.
that’s all…

In the epilogue timeline, Sung Il-Hwan remembers the prev timeline. The rulers and monarchs are the ones who remember, so that implies that when the rulers were trying to patch up his soul as best they could with their own mana, Il-Hwan basically ended up a ruler, enough of one to be immune to the Chalice overwriting that local area’s history even though he did fall apart/die.
Obvs the rulers didn’t know that was a thing or else they could have made some humans able to remember re the invasion and shit, which would have definitely been something worth trying for purposes of ‘how to help this species not all get eaten/collateral damage’d??’
Presumably the rulers knew that repairing a falling-apart soul was possible bc of Ashborn’s shadows but didn’t just do it Ashborn’s way bc the dead souls he messed with ended up brainwashed to love him? Enough to kill their own families/species (see the implied zombie apocalypses of Earth) and that is Moral Event Horizon shit so they weren’t going to do it to some guy who was dying bc he Did His Best to protect people??
The rulers are referred to as ‘fragments,’ and anyway there’s potential both in divergence AUs and less stupid ending fics to them seeing Il-Hwan as One Of The Family, since like. That’s their mana?? He’s desperate to protect his kids?? Yep, same.
1. Il-Hwan isn’t able to protect Jin-Woo’s soul/shadow long enough for him to come back to life: as a basically-ruler and basically-monarch they find themselves with their memories 10 years ago. Jiin-Woo didn’t get Ashborn’s explanation and finds out from Il-Hwan re zombie apocalypsing. Meanwhile Ashborn and his army are in deep trouble since the other monarchs know he turned against them and they’re massively outnumbered, so Il-Hwan and Jin-Woo going to kill him might be for the best...
2. Il-Hwan is a little more stable and goes to save Christopher Reed from the monarchs. Reed retired due to Kamish PTSD and this guy has the same mana as the people who kept him alive during that AND Il-Hwan saved him before starting to slowly fall apart and them sharing ruler mana means he feels like family, so he’s threatening to immolate people who want to take him away. Adam White informs Jin-Woo monster-dad is at Reed’s so he rushes over.
3. Post-non-stupid-ending ‘verse, the rulers are all sibs, Igris’ people all come from a tree and are sibs, rulers adopting Igris’ people explains why some died alongside Ashborn, souls are basically turned into shadows by the power of Adoption Papers... Jin-Woo’s experiences with basically every non-monster inhabitant of an alien planet seeing him as Best Little Brother/Nephew who did so well ;_; a good boy cinnamon roll who protected all the families~

Extraordinary Attorney Woo: Thoughts on episodes 15-16 (spoilers!)
All good things must come to an end. Now that the dust has settled in my brain after my third watch (lol), let's unpack this week's two-part season finale (spoiler alert!)
First of all, writer Moon Ji-won and her team sure know how to weave metaphors and imagery like it's nothing I've ever seen in a K-drama. Definitely her strong suit. Some are blatant while others are so subtle most people miss it without a rewatch. Seriously, I could name several off the top of my head and I've probably missed twice as much. But let's focus on those present in eps 15-16.
I want to start with the introduction and characterization of Young-woo's half-brother Choi Sang-hyeon. Love her or hate her, I can't wait to see how brilliant Tae Su-mi actually is considering she's 2 for 2 in giving birth to geniuses. In his first scene in ep 15 alone, we are told that Sang-hyeon and Young-woo are alike yet different.
Throughout the show, circles have been associated with Young-woo. The title credits, the little details Young-woo's room, her headphones, the revolving door, Young-woo's name in hangul (우영우), even Dong Geurami (whose name means 'circle')! But what about Sang-hyeon?
Tumblr media
It's all squares with this kid, who mirrors the opening credits in ep 16. And they both love gimbap! Perhaps even for the same reason that they like to see every detail of the thing they're dealing with (Young-woo with the law and whales, Sang-hyeon with computers). Better yet, they share a tendency to lean towards what's morally right, socially just and transparent, despite being in fields that are known to exploit people who aren't well-versed in their complexities.
I definitely like how he didn't take his frustrations out on Young-woo, instead assumed that she would understand him better than their mother, and he was right. I wonder what he sees during his Eureka moments, but we'll have to wait for season 2 to hopefully find out.
====
Now let's talk about this case. I can't tell you how much I LOVE that ep 15 started with spear phishing. It brought me back to this moment from ep 6 so fast I could almost feel the wind coming and hear the whales jumping. (Sorry for the noob gif quality)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once we learn who the baby whale in question is, we're compelled to ask if Tae Su-mi is willing to make the same decision twice. And while she was ready to bury it to save her candidacy, she ultimately lets Sang-hyeon out himself as the hacker and participate in the trial, putting her political ambitions at an end - or more likely on hold.
The hunter/ress throwing the harpoon in this case, you guessed it, is Han Seon-yeong. Throughout the show, CEO Han seemed to be playing a game with CEO Tae, though the latter didn't seem to acknowledge the game at all. Where CEO Han spends most of her jealousy-driven time thinking of how to take her rival down, CEO Tae doesn't pay her as much attention, instead preferring to use her energy on her next professional conquest. Sound familiar?
Tumblr media
The result for CEO Han is lukewarm. Tae Su-mi isn't outed (yet) for having a child out of wedlock and manages a relatively graceful exit from her nomination, Young-woo gets to keep her peace, Sang-hyeon is publicly disgraced but keeps his dignity and honor. So far, Han's bark has been louder than her bite. She's never made any significant contribution to the cases she injected herself into. Whereas CEO Tae would have won the Seodok-dong case if it weren't for Young-woo's genius. Maybe she held back because of her humanity towards the innocent parties. On the other hand, she could also be waiting for a bigger scandal to take her rival down for good. In that case, we have reason to expect her to be the antagonist in Season 2, though I would have liked to see more hints scattered prior to ep 16 apart from the deleted scene in ep 8.
With Sang-hyeon now in her orbit, I'm looking forward to more brother-sister interactions in Season 2. Choi Hyun-jin did a great job with his portrayal (am I the only one who likes his eyes?). There was some tightrope walking between sinister and brilliant going on there, his introduction felt like a scene from "Juvenile Justice". Bravo.
====
Last week, I told you (!) that Young-woo and Jun-ho would be endgame. All because it was hinted by the case, the monk, and the dialogue during the breakup, among others, that they were both capable of looking beyond the surface of their problems.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also said that Young-woo shouldn't be so criticized for letting go of him without a proper explanation at the time because she was trying to be selfless (for a change, or so she thought). So this week, we got another metaphor from Jun-ho this time about unrequited love for a cat, but that it's okay because the owner is happy with the cat just being there no matter how selfish the cat can be sometimes. Message received, and our whale couple is back together.
While I'm very happy that we were not given the 2521 treatment, the execution of this storyline leaves a bit to be desired. It's the same issue I've had with it since ep 11, in that they've been cutting the scenes so abruptly, especially those filmed near Young-woo's house. The scene where Young-woo finally tells Jun-ho her reason for the breakup and then it just holds the pause after she bows then that's it. I know they probably didn't want to cram more progress into ep 15 and focus more on the trial scenes but it resulted in some uneven storytelling.
Btw, I adore that scene where he gets all defensive when the Taesan messenger startles Young-woo but he doesn't pry. Kang Tae-oh was just majestic. Though this was something that Young-woo's dad could have seen so he'd give her a nudge to say Jun-ho may be right for her after all. Another could be the hospital fiasco, where instead of driving off with douchebag Attorney Jang, Jun-ho could have been caught on camera shielding Young-woo from the press, leading her dad to the same conclusion. Although driving off was one way to show that he can also make poor snap judgments and that's ok. I know I'm getting nitpicky but I just wish there was something so their makeup on the way to the trial could have a little more meat. But all is well since we got the result we wanted.
====
Should I even write about (still trash, now compostable) Kwon Min-woo and my girl Choi Su-yeon at this point? They really went the route of "let's introduce a worse character so the guy you hate doesn't look half bad". I mean Attorney Jang is where Min-woo would be if left unchecked after about 15+ years. I'm okay with redemption arcs, I really am. I just hate when they happen overnight or when they're being given out like candy.
And while I don't underestimate nor belittle the things love can make you do, I can't get on the "I can change him" trope. It's so beneath the Su-yeon that we know. And it taints the sincerity of Min-woo's 'change' in that every good deed he does from here on is based on pleasing her and not because it's the right thing to do. He's lucky she has a great moral compass. The attempt at fistbumping Young-woo was just cringe. Would he have done that if Su-yeon hadn't been there? Exactly.
If the writer's intention was to keep his suspiciousness, then mission accomplished. I won't be surprised if they break up and he regresses to his old ways, or he regresses then they break up. If the goal was to transform him into a loveable character, then I just hope he's given a chance in season 2 to make morally sound decisions (at his expense) while he and Su-yeon are apart. It's the only way to get him back on track. I've been very critical, but seeing how things turned out, I'm optimistic we the audience will get the storyline we deserve next season.
====
Lastly, I like how Jung Myeong-seok's reconciliation with his ex-wife was left open-ended and dependent on how ready he would be to leave Hanbada for good. But even if he left the firm, old habits die hard. He may choose to represent less affluent clients like the temple, but his devotion to his work could make him relapse (in more ways than one). It would be interesting to see him slowly shift into someone a little more like Attorney Ryu from ep 12 and even work with her for a change. Better yet, start a firm with his babies and take on social justice cases going head to head with Taesan and Hanbada like David v. Goliath. It's another way to see what both CEOs are really made of once Young-woo takes off with her real family.
And that's where the season ends. Where the first episode only had one floating whale during Young-woo's commute, the conclusion showed several as she no longer feels alone.
Tumblr media
Overall, I still think the two-part season finale was more than satisfactory with enough room to elaborate in season 2. I'm excited to see what's in store for Young-woo and co. now that the writer and producers have at least 2 years to figure out the best way to continue this extraordinary saga. Until the next Whoa Whoa Wednesday!
Check out my midseason (episodes 1-8) review, thoughts on episodes 11-12 and 13-14.

Are you okay?
Fandom: Solo Leveling Genderneutral Reader Pairing: Sung Jin Woo x Reader TW: Uhm mention of blood, depression, abandonment Part 1? Idk
You always knew he was something special. Even though it needed time to come through. It needed time to become, what he is now. Like a Diamond who once was coal, he now shines brighter than anyone. Maybe “shine” is the wrong word, but regardless, everyone now knows it. Everyone can finally see it. The way you always saw him. Sung Jin Woo finally broke through the shell that was around him. You never knew why he changed. What happened, except what was heard from others. After his major change Jin Woo begun to keep his distance. Maybe it was unintentional, maybe not. But he keeps drifting apart from you. Week to Week, day to day, hour to hour. No more daily calls till one fell asleep. No more patching him up and scolding him lightly because you were so worried about him. No more Bubbleteas and weekly get together. No more need to help him pay for the hospital bills and rent. No more anything. Jin Woo now reached a World, were you can’t be a part of it anymore. You aren’t a Hunter. So you can’t even support him in that matter. Helping him to pay off the bills was one of the only things you could do to support him but even now that isn’t needed anymore. Not to mention being emotional support when he needed it. He doesn’t need you anymore. Or so you feel. He doesn’t call anymore. He doesn’t tell you about the dungeons, how his family is. He doesn’t reminisce about old days with you anymore. Not even a text that he is okay, alive, unharmed. Nothing. No updates, only what you can see online from his new friends and his sister. Seemingly forgetting about you. You are happy for him. That people finally realize what a good person Jin Woo is. That he gets what he deserves for having such a difficult life. But it hurt that you don’t seem to be a part of it anymore. Even after he was...is such a major part of your life. Is it because you are weak? Ugly? Annoying? You don’t know because he never told you. He doesn’t tell you anything anymore...and you begun to keep silent about your life. At the beginning, you still updated him about your life, trying to keep small talk and texting about random things like you always do. Sending him memes and videos. But it slowly faded after his replies got shorter and shorter and shorter, then left in read and in the end, you weren’t even worthy enough to be left on read. It all came to a halt. No texts, no calls, no meetings. You even begun to avoid everything that has to do with him. Things that would remind you of him. All the pictures, gifts, everything physically was but into a box and placed somewhere, where you wouldn’t see it. You can’t. It just hurt to be reminded of how worthless you got. Your daily life changed and you tried to forget him, even to replace him but it was difficult. Somehow you managed to get your act together. When you have to socialize it is. At home, alone, it was a different story. It broke you how easily you were tossed away. As happy as you are for him, it hurt as much. You tried to talk to him so often, but he always found a way to avoid you. The more often you tried, the easier he slipped away. This was till you two had no choice but to interact. When the Dungeonmonsters came out of the Gates, all hell broke lose. It was terrifying seeing the things that Hunters are supposed to hunt, for yourself. They were monstrous, tall, bloody, horrendous and dangerous. Nobody expected that such things would come out, even though everybody feared it after the JeJu-Island-Raid. At that time, you were near the Gate. Shopping for Groceries. You were almost squashed to death from a big foot that stepped right in front of you. Your throat tightening. Gulping down a scream you fell on your behind. The groceries were now splattered everywhere. You saw dead bodies between the big toes of the Monster, seemingly the Hunters who wanted to clear the Gate. Wasn’t it a small D-Rank-Gate? Why are these monsters here? You did not had the time to think about it as the Monster seemed to notice you. It bend downward, his arm reaching out to you. You tried to scramble away. To get up and run inside in hope you would be safer there but you toppled over and over. Tears begun to well up into your eyes. Hiccups bubbling in your throat and your heart clenched. Your breath irregular. You don’t want to die. Yes, you go through so much pain right now and life is shitty but you don’t want to die. Help! Was your only thought. Someone, please help me! Anybody! any “anybody” came to rescue you. The second he took you in his arms you knew, who it was. The smell was what gave him out. The smell of Ebony that never left him. He shielded your eyes, so you wouldn’t see the blood he spilled or anything else, that would be to gruesome for you, knowing how sensitive you are. You can’t even watch a horrormovie properly without hiding your face in his shoulder. “Are you okay?” hearing his voice after so long made you tear up. The question he gave you, these simple words, stirred something up inside of you. It wasn’t pain or sadness that you felt all the time. No, it was anger. Anger at him for that it was of all the people him that rescued you. That he asked this question, after all the time. Asking, because of the monsters and not, because of all the other things or because he really want to know. You pushed him roughly away. Your head turned away so you wouldn’t see him. Not wanting to spare him any glance. “Thanks...” You tried to rescue what you could from your groceries, not waiting for anything he could say. You just want to go before you say something that you could regret. But what is it, that you would regret? Saying how you feel? How Jin Woo made you feel? How he threw you away? Or is it, that you would regret saying all these things knowing, it could hurt him like it has hurt you? “I asked if you’re okay?” The grip around the now ripped plastic-bag tightened. Your lips formed a thin line. Why can’t he just go and leave you alone like he already did? He is stirring up emotions, you never wanted to feel regarding him. “Why do you care?” It was a simple question. But filled with so much emotion and at the same time none. He looked taken aback. His eyes widened a bit when you looked him dead in the eyes. You gaze as dead and hollow as you feel at night. He opened his mouth to say something but you beat him to that. “I mean, you didn’t cared since a long time ago about me, no? Ignoring me, avoiding me, replacing and throwing me away. And now? Now you come here, rescuing me for what I am thankful, but asking me if I am okay? No. I am not. A monster almost killed me. In fact I am scared to death and at the verge of crying,” your voice begun to break a little, hiccups threatening to come out “But it is also a fact, that this isn’t the worst of all the things.” instead of hiccups, a bitterly laugh came out. “No, worse is, that it is you who rescued me. The Person who I did not wanted to see. So, no, I am not okay but it doesn’t concern you anymore, so goodbye.” Leaving your groceries behind you ran. As fast as you could. Never stopping or looking back. Not before you got home. You ran so much and so fast, you almost doubled over and puked on the floor. Your entire body was shaking, you sweat. You feel hot and cold at the same time. Your mind was racing faster, than you just ran. Everything just bubbled up and came out. It was too much to hold in it, so you screamed and trashed. Screamed our lungs out till they gave in and your throat begun to hurt and burn. You knocked everything over, throwing and kicking things. Hammering your fist against the walls till they bleed. You don’t know how long you did that but you stopped when you felt his arm around you. Again. The smell was intoxicating. A cloud of his smell formed around you. “I’m so sorry...” it was then and there, that you begun to cry. You pounded against his chest. Cried. Screamed at him. Merciless at how much he hurt you. How you hated him. How you never want to see him again. Asking him why he did that. Insulting him till no end. While you did all that. he just silently embraced you. Taking everything in you said. Never saying something against it or making excuses. Only these three words came out of him. Over and over and over.

Panic settled in the room as Seonghwa's words echoed in your heads. Yunho was dead, Mingi disappeared, San wasn't waking up and the body was gone.
And meanwhile, you were getting railed in Seonghwa's office. You felt sick to your stomach, not knowing what to do, or where to even start.
"Someone say something!" Jongho yelled, at the top of his lungs, finally breaking his calm character.
The silence in the room was heavy and you suddenly felt as if you couldn't breathe, as if someone was gripping your throat from the inside. As if on cue, San groaned and his eyes fluttered open.
"What the fuck?..." He groaned, as he sat up straight with the help of one hand.
San rubbed the back of his head with his other hand, hissing as he moved it up and down slowly.
You and Seonghwa ran towards him and knelt beside the man.
"San what happened!?"
San sat against the sofa, feeling too sick and too dizzy to sit up straight on his own. He took a couple of breathsm trying to recollect what happened before he blacked out.
"There really isn't much to say, right after Y/N left Mingi asked me to get him something from the kitchen and when I came back someone, I'm assuming Mingi, hit me with something in the back of the head. Next thing I know I'm waking up next to Jongho."
Seonghwa stood up, visibly stressed and irritated.
"Y/N I- I can't take this anymore. I'm tired, I'm stressed out, I wake up, go to sleep and go through the day stressed but I try to keep calm and be reasobale but I just can't anymore! I need to rest, I need time!" Jongho said.
His voice was shaky, his face was red and his eyes were desperate and tired. He had huge bags under his eyes, and he looked as if he wanted to cry, but was too tired to do so.
"I... I know. I know what you're feeling because I'm feeling it too, but the body is gone, and you know that if the body is found we'll all be questioned by the police and if he turns himself in he will also be questioned by the police and we both know that in either case they will be asking questions. The body is decomposing! They'll start asking why he didn't come right away, what happened between the murder and the confession, and it doesn't take much for Mingi to break! If he goes down he'll bring us with him!"
Your voice was unstable from crying, and you, just like every other person in the group, regretted helping Mingi. You should have stayed mad at him. You shouldn't have babied him and helped him cover up a murder. But it was too late, friendship and compassion won over you as if you were in a kid's cartoon where the power of friendship could overcome anything. But it didn't.
"Each of you get in one of my cars. We're splitting up and looking for him. Keys are in the ignition, let's go. The sooner we find him, the sooner it will all be over."
Seonghwa turned his back and started walking towards the garage, giving them no time to oppose themselves to the plan, or to complain at all.
Four motors roared in the garage as each of them left in their respective car to look around. He couldn't have gone very far, it had only been a couple hours and Mingi had no car and no money for a cab.
It was becoming increasingly hard for San to throw off Wooyoung. They had been spending a lot of time together and these past few days he had barely talked to the younger boy, making the latter suspicious that either San had gotten tired of him, or that he had found someone else. Either way Wooyoung was panicking and constantly blowing up San's phone, which was just the cherry on top. After the 10th ding sounded from his phone, San pulled over for a second and called Wooyoung.
"Heeey Woo." He said, trying to sound as sweet as possible.
"San what's happening? Please tell me if you're getting tired of me... Don't give me any hopes, because I really like you."
"What? No Wooyoung, I like you, like... a lot. Really. But I've just been busy with consoling Y/N, and there was a bunch of issues in some paperwork from my part-time job so I had to work on that as well, it's just been a very tiring couple of days, I'm sorry... Can I get back to you once I'm done? I need a little rest."
As far as Wooyoung knew you were still upset at Mingi.
"Alright fine, but I expect a nice homemade dinner once you're free."
"Of course baby."
San hung up with a sigh, relieved that he bought his excuses, and started the engine once more, resuming his search.
San was driving around the town, searching places with fewer people and hidden spots where rarely anybody went to. He ended up in a couple bad neighborhoods, which in retrospect it wasn't very smart since he was riding a Rolls Royce, but they hadn't been making good choices the past few days. Seonghwa headed back to the cabin where they had found the body, you searched every bridge and police station and Jongho went to his apartment.
It was minute 12 of driving around when you received a call. It was a group call with everyone involved.
"The body is back in the cabin. It's covered with all the leaves and shit we put here."
"Don't touch it, get out of there for now. I'm still trying to get to his house, anyone got anything?"
Jongho's question was met with a bunch of no's.
"Well I'm almost at his house and I can see- oh my God. I found him. I found him he's standing on a balcony and I think he's gonna jump everyone get here!"
Jongho hung up and you told Seonghwa the address. Thankfully you were close by and got there in no time. Jongho sprinted up the stairs and by the time you and San got to the house he was trying to talk Mingi out of it. Mingi was standing on the edge of his balcony, on the other side of the railing, but still holding onto it. Jongho was crying and begging Mingi to come to his senses and to come back inside, as he gripped his arm.
"It's no use Jongho, just let me go! This is not up to you!"
You and San got up to the balcony as well, trying to talk Mingi out of it.
"Mingi please! We'll get through this I'm begging you, we can't lose you too!" You yelled.
You wanted to stay composed but you couldn't help the tears streaming down your face. Even Jongho, who was usually very uncomfortable displaying his emotions, was crying and begging.
When Seonghwa got to the scene, he was terrified. He didn't know what to do, which was a common thing throughout the past few days, and it was killing him.
Everyone was pulling on Mingi's left side, trying to pull him up along with Jongho, so, without anyone noticing, he jumped outside the railing, and slowly walked towards Mingi without him noticing either.
Once he was close enough, he grabbed the man and pulled him up and over the railing, while holding himself stable with one hand on said railing.
However, Mingi's selfishness was bigger, and in the end, he showed that no matter what other people did for him, he was going to put himself first.
Mingi was mad, he thought his friends were being selfish and had no say in the matter, so while being saved, while going over the railing back into his house, he kicked it away with all the strength in his body, making him fall back.
Seonghwa, who was holding onto Mingi, failed to grip the railing harder and fell with Mingi, looking into your sad, panic-filled eyes as he fell to his death.
You bent over and watched the man you loved fall, in what felt like slow motion. His body hit the ground, and with an ugly cracking noise, Seonghwa's head split open.
You sprinted down the stairs, and once you got down to the ground people were circling the two men, taking pictures and gasping at the scene. You shoved away everybody in front of you so you could reach Seonghwa. His face was nearly intact, but the pool of blood surrounding his cracked skull told you there was no way he'd survive. His chest moved up and down quickly, for a couple of seconds, indicating the intense pain he was in.
"Seonghwa I'm sorry- I-I'm so sorry! Please... I love you..."
Just as the last three words left your mouth, you could see his lips twitch, before his chest stopped moving, before his eyes lost all of their color, before his body went limp in your hands. You stayed there, holding the face of the deceased man you once loved, your clothes soaking his blood and you cried out for forgiveness.
You didn't dare look at Mingi, but you sure hoped he was dead.
But he wasn't. And in the end. When the ambulance and the police came, they took Seonghwa to the morgue and Mingi to the hospital. Mingi ended up surviving after intense surgery, but not for long, because you would end up killing him.
"You don't get to live!" You told Mingi, as you stabbed gagged him and stabbed him over, and over, and over.
He died in a slow, agonizing way, just like you wanted him to. After all he put you, San, and Jongho through, after the sleepless nights, the constant stress, after staying the love of your life he still thought he'd get a second chance!?
You made sure he suffered, and you made sure he knew how much you hated him as you pierced your old, blunt, and rusty knife into his body.
San and Wooyoung ended up fleeing the country, and Jongho joined the military, both too afraid to face the reality and their past actions, seeking any refuge outside of their past lives. They did end up hearing about Mingi's death, and neither of them seemed to care. After everything, they just gave up on him completely.
You were arrested for Mingi's murder, but after confessing everything, and giving a couple touch-ups where you removed Seonghwa, Jongho, and San from the story, and after leading them to Yunho's body, the lawyer from your case pleaded not guilty, and blamed your acts on the heavy toll the incidents of helping your best friend, and the death of your lover, had taken on you, and the judge agreed that you should be under house arrest, with a government assigned professional that would assist you, take care of you, and report back to court.
Was that the end? Was that all there was to your life? That seemed to be the case... Sooner or later you'd end up joining Seonghwa however, you knew that much, you just hoped he was somewhere waiting for you.

Beauty & the Beast AU Prompt: Jiang Cheng is the Beast and Nie Huaisang is Belle. Lan Wangji is somehow sent to rescue Nie Huaisang but he refuses to leave - no one is making him train! He can paint and decorate fans all day long! Plus, Jiang Cheng just showed him a library with a very interesting section... Lan Wangji is getting frustrated, and it doesn't help that an annoying candle called Wei Ying keeps following him around and will. not. leave. him. alone!
“I was very beautiful when I was human, Lan Zhan.”
Lan Wangji glares at the smiling candlestick and aggressively reshelves another book. “Indecency is forbidden,” he repeats, wishing he had a tablet of Lan sect principles at hand so he could make Wei Ying copy them down as punishment. “Vanity is a stain upon the mortal soul, and wise men eschew it. Please remember that in the future--whatever you may know of the human world as it is now, we are not all Nie Huaisang.”
Inwardly, Lan Wangji laments the fact that Nie Huaisang had been kidnapped by this beast, of all the rampaging creatures in the countryside that could have run across him. The young Nie scion has as many delicacies as he wants to eat (courtesy of the beautiful porcelain teapot that usually accompanies Wei Ying, who said she was the lady of this empty household, once upon a time) and plenty of paints and brushes and fans, not to mention a whole section of yellow leaflets in the library--which this shameless candlestick, Wei Ying, claimed to have collected himself.
“This is because I gave A-Sang my longyang books, isn’t it?” Wei Ying mourns, while Lan Wangji makes a violent choking sound and piles more cooking manuals--the ones Jiang Yanli lent him, so he could show the kitchen implements how to make his favorite foods--over the shameful scrolls before debating setting them on fire. “You haven’t even looked at me since you found out they were mine.”
Lan Wangji feels his face burn. “Perhaps,” he hisses, “I would be more inclined to look at you if you could go more than two minutes without mentioning them!”
“How can I?” Wei Ying demands. “That’s the reason you haven’t been getting along with me! We have to talk this out!”
“There is nothing to talk about,” Lan Wangji snaps. “You are--frivolous, and shameless, and talking to you makes my forehead ribbon curl.”
And it distracts me from what I’m supposed to be doing, he thinks guiltily. I should have been home with Nie Huaisang two weeks ago.
“Oh?” the candlestick says slyly. “So you don’t even want to stay and see the new portrait I’ve been working on?”
Something aches in Lan Wangji’s chest at the thought of refusing him, even though Wei Ying’s teasing is a deeper source of suffering to him than Nie Huaisang’s refusal to stop wasting time with Jiang Wanyin (current beast, and ex-crown prince) and go back home to his brother. “You may show me your portrait if you promise to behave,” he says stiffly, trying not to blush as Wei Ying leaps up to the drawn curtains in glee. “And then I must go to help the washtubs with the laundry.”
“You don’t actually need to help them, you know,” Wei Ying points out. “Our bodies aren’t human anymore. We don’t get tired.”
“Nie Huaisang and I are two of the only three people in this place who wear clothes. It would only be polite to help them.”
“Ah, that’s right!” chirps Wei Ying. “Well, just look at this portrait, and then you can go.”
He jerks on the tasseled rope fastening the curtains and capers in sheer happiness as it falls back to reveal a portrait of a young man in white robes, seated on a bench with his shimmering gown spread out on the floor around him and holding a fluffy rabbit in his lap.
The youth in the painting has a smile on his lips, and Lan Wangji feels the breath catch in his throat as he recognizes his own face represented above him in ink and brushstrokes and paper.
“Good, isn’t it?” Wei Ying preens. “What do you think, Lan Zhan?”
Lan Wangji never makes it to the laundry that day. But upon later reflection, perhaps the washtubs and irons will understand.
---
Two months later, when Nie Huaisang manages to bring the Jiang household and all its inhabitants back to their former glory, Lan Wangji discovers that Wei Ying is every bit as beautiful in his human form as he always used to claim he was.
“Now I can woo you properly,” his beloved gloats, as the two of them revel in the precious feeling of actually holding each other for the first time. “You won’t be able to resist, sweetheart! I’m never giving you back.”
“I have already been wooed,” Lan Wangji says honestly, smiling as Wei Ying throws his lovely face into his equally lovely hands and wails. “I fell in love with Wei Ying the candlestick, and I love Wei Ying as he is now. You need never do anything to keep me, for I am already yours.”
“You can’t just say things like that!” groans Wei Ying. “Have mercy on my heart! Lan Zhan!”
“I’d advise against kissing Lan-er-gongzi in the courtyard, Xianxian,” Jiang Yanli laughs, appearing in the doorway with her son Jin Ling--the ex-teacup, who liked to wake Lan Wangji up in the mornings by jumping on his back--in her arms. “Nie Mingjue’s here, and I think he might tear the manor down with the way he’s chasing poor A-Sang.”
---
(Nie Mingjue does not get the chance to tear down the manor, because his brother falls to his knees in front of him and begs to be permitted to marry Jiang Wanyin before he can really get started. But that is a story for another day.)

Saw this floating around and thought it’d be funny to do : Assign your moots with a fanfiction trope and a member?
i read fanfics now and then but tbh im not sure what the tropes are so im going to just give scenarios to these people. there’s so many people i would like to do this to but i just can’t think of anything else right now lmao. also pls don’t take this seriously 😭😭😂 edit: I added rest of the members and tagged few more people because this was fun
@jiminswn @flipthatjacketjiminie you and jimin are decorating the christmas tree and suddenly jimin grabs you by your waist. you think he is lifting you to put up the star on the top but instead he throws you to the couch and you see him lifting up jungkook instead to put up the star. you just accept your faith to be the third wheel while you pass out because you hit your head
@kimchitae @taemaknae @taesjpg @flowerkth someone has been blowing up your phone with snapchats of their toes and you have found out it’s your classmate taehyung. it’s getting really annoying to you since the pictures aren’t even that good quality. you confront him in your next class about it. he tolds you off and you get flustered - you didn’t expect it. you promise him you would send him feet pics in return.
@r-m @flytomyjoon @himbojoon you are on a walk and it’s very sunny day. someone’s dog runs to you and before you even notice it pees on your shoes. you are frustrated. but that’s not all. you don’t have the time to get away when someone drives towards you with a bike and hits you. its namjoon who had just lost his dog. he thinks you have stolen his dog and yells at you. you are now enemies. turns out namjoon is your new neighbor... what will happen is you fall in love with him eventually but then you become enemies again because his dog keeps peeing on you.
@yoongistics @vjimin @daechwitamv you wake up and look around. you are not in your room. what is this place? you think to yourself. you start to panic but suddenly a person appears from the dark. it’s yoongi. he tells you you can’t leave. he has kidnapped you, you realize. but what is the motive? you are just a simple tangerine farmer. surely no one would want anything from you. yoongi then tells you to hand over the tangerine farm or else you die. you just can’t do anything else than obey him.
@seonghw-a you are engaged to wooyoung. you are planning your wedding with him and his best friend san who is also his best man. the wedding day comes and you start to walk down the aisle. someone opens the church doors. “STOP THIS NONSENSE NOW” it’s san yelling from the doors. everyone’s shocked. turns out san can’t accept you and woo getting married. he then runs and takes wooyoung with him. you never hear from them again 💔
@jeongookie @blueandgrcy you are at the gym. you thought to yourself the hot girl summer is coming up so why not try some working out stuff. you spot someone with a sleeve of tattoos and dark hair - that’s jungkook. he takes your breath away when he flashes you a smile. the weight you were lifting drops on you and and the last thing you remember is the hot guy coming to you being worried. you wake up at the hospital from coma. “wow was all of that a dream” it wasn’t - you notice the same person is next you and he looks so beautiful your heart stops.... tragic love story that never got to properly start
@jinsmin @jintae @sukunass you and your boyfriend jin had been dating for a while but never done anything more than kissing. one day you start to get morning sickness, it worries you. surely you can’t be..... pregnant? you take the test and it’s positive. how could this be? you thought to yourself. you hadn’t cheated on him either. you tell the news to jin. he isn’t surprised and he confesses to you “i am the son of god.... jinsus”
@hobeah @bisexualhobi you were sad all the time... you just couldn’t see the bright colors in your life anymore. until one day you saw an advertisement from a guy called j-hope. “have you lost your hope? don’t worry come to the hope world” you thought to yourself what’s there to loose so you went. you met the owner j-hope and started your sessions with him. the mantra he used was simple “i am your hope, your my hope, im j-hope” and before you noticed... he brainwashed you. only thing in your life that mattered was that he was your hope and you would do anything to make all the people in the world to join you so you two could make the whole world to be the hope world. it was better that way... the world should be ruled by this man with you on his side

Here are some brief thoughts on kdrama that started airing in 2020 that I've watched. I said brief, but those who have been following me would appreciate that this is indeed, brief.
The list is in alphabetical order.
1. 365: Repeat the Year (MBC)
Tumblr media
Disclosure: I am a HUGE Lee Joon Hyuk stan. He is second only to Hyun Bin on my list. The fact that this drama is on the top of this list is a happy coincidence 🥰🥰
I was soooooooo excited when I knew Lee Joon Hyuk was to star in a new drama. MBC made the announcement of the drama late last year, and I was literally walking to the office when I saw the announcement on ig.
The premise of the drama was pretty straightforward. 10 people were given the chance to travel back in time exactly one year prior. Mysterious things kept happening to the people who took the trip, so our Detective Ji “Fluffy-Hair” Hyung Joo and webtoon writer Shin “Self-Hater” Ga Hyun joined hands to figure out what exactly happened.
Once they finally figured out what caused the mysterious cases, they faced a great dilemma on what to do, with our Fluffy Hair detective running as a fugitive.
The ending was really sad, and I really wished it ended differently, but the main character of the story was our Fluffy Hair detective, and him having to live on and reset the whole thing from the new past was a nice touch to the ending.
This drama was full of surprises, twist and turn, and it is certainly a drama I would consider rewatching in the future.
2. Do You Like Brahms? (SBS)
Tumblr media
Many people criticised the second half of this drama. Apparently the year 2020 is the year when kdramaland keeps being a disappointment, and many people are quick to include this drama in the list of disappointing drama, despite having a good beginning.
I beg to differ though. To me this drama feels more of a healing drama, wherein the characters are forced to deal with their issues. And anyone who has had to go through any form of therapy knows how hard healing process is.
TL;DR: The main leads are both people who have been mentally abused by the people around them, except for Cha Young In, because she was the only reason I did not throw my remote control at my 50-inch TV.
Park Joon Young is your classic example of a ‘gifted kid’ struggle. He was seen as a young, talented pianist who had a bright future ahead of him. But people started to treat him more like a trophy than a human being, so he decided to take a sabbatical, much to the criticism of people in the music industry. Park Joon Young realised that his passion in playing the piano has faded away, no thanks to his abusive piano professor who belittled him again and again, and practically brainwashed him into being a people pleaser. You could see how Park Joon Young was not himself in the beginning of the drama once you finish the drama.
Chae Song Ah took interest in violin at a later age (much later than professional musicians) and decided to pursue her dream by enrolling into a music programme. Her classmates were all younger than her, and it didn’t help that they all learnt music since much younger. I love how Song Ah did not give up on her dream easily and gave it her all, before she finally decided to let go of her dream to become a musician. The metaphor of her love for violin and Joon Young hurting her again and again and she just endured it though.. I cried like a mess well I am a mess but that’s a separate issue
Tumblr media
Special shout out to Cha Young In who was there for both of them.

3. Flower of Evil (tvN)
Tumblr media
If thriller is your thing, consider this drama. If you are one of those people who like to see your characters being tortured (physically and mentally), this drama is a MUST WATCH. And if you enjoy watching Lee Joon Ki playing a character who is put at a great distress because he is trying to run from his past, go watch this drama.
More importantly, if you enjoy a drama where your ML is sexy, attends to house chores and takes care of his bright young daughter while his wife goes crazy for solving violent crimes, a devoted husband who is attentive and a tender person but also a freak in the sheets, you are wasting every single of your breath not watching this drama.
Tumblr media
I mean look at this man teasing his wife about his stamina.
Flower of Evil did not feel draggy at all. Everything that happened within the first 6 episodes could have been an entire drama if this was written by someone else. Seriously, this drama kept me at the edge of my couch!
The dynamic of HS and JW screams POWER COUPLE but at the same time it broke my heart how they were pushed into corners too many times by the people around them I do hope they had some sexy times while they were in the corners though
The focus on their wedding rings throughout the drama symbolised their unbreakable bond. The wedding rings were literally the very last thing that kept them together when JW stumbled upon evidences that pointed against HS.
JW, whose compass was only trusting what she saw, and not what she heard, tried to break the stigma of women being at a disadvantage in the police force. Heck, she was better than her entire team when it came to solving cases, her being the only woman in the team. Who said women cannot make good cops?
The plot twist though.. And the climax.. To this day, I still listen to this soundtrack from the drama and cry just thinking of the climax.
4. Into the Ring (also known as Memorials) (KBS2)
Tumblr media
I didn’t even plan on watching this drama. I was channel surfing and saw Park Sung Hoon looking all depressed in the first episode and ran into Koo Se Ra. Girl was UNHINGED and determined to fight for her way.
Her motivation was initially on getting a stable pay check from being a district representative (it was only 60 million won which is like USD55k so it’s not that much) but she eventually became the district representative who fought for the benefit of the people and did not care for the political warfare that took place.
Came along Seo Gong Myung, a government officer in the local government office who was demoted from planning unit of the accounting department or something to be a secretariat to the district assembly. Seo Gong Myung sticks to his principle no matter what, which surprise surprise, is HATED by everyone in the district government.
Turns out our main leads were friends when they were kids so Se Ra kept teasing him and dragging him into her scheme of fighting for the people, which Gong Myung agreed to, not so much because he was a community-loving person, but because he was afraid Se Ra would get into trouble since she was as straight as a ruler.
Long story short, our leads fell for each other, and their relationship was HILAIROUS to watch. I think I speak for everyone who watched the drama that we had no reason to believe Se Ra did not peg Gong Myung for fun 😝😝
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They were so cute together awwww
5. Kairos (MBC)
Tumblr media
This is another drama that I stumbled into. Only this time, I saw Nam Gyu Ri and I remember seeing her ig post on a new drama so I decided to give it a go. She wrecked my heart in 49 Days so I decided to check this out for funsies. Hooo boy was I in for a major surprise.
The first two episodes got me hooketh!! I still cannot believe how the drama managed to keep me on my edge especially during the last 5 minutes of every episode. The pacing is even faster than Flower of Evil, and since this drama went back and forth between past and future, it keeps me guessing whether their efforts would bear fruit.
Will Kim “Sexy Brain” Seo Jin  and Han “I-Know-No-Fear” Ae Ri succeed in fighting the evil, who at this point in time remains unknown? I know Chairman Yoo Seo Il is currently being hinted as the culprit behind everything but I know better that he is just a puppet who sold his soul to the real devil who most likely is in the higher ranks in politics. I mean he even hinted at his remorse for what happened with Taejung Town 19 years prior. My suspicion is he is trying to cover up whatever happened because otherwise his own family would be at risk, so his only option is to redeem himself by doing something about the Taejung Town. I could be wrong, but regardless of who turns out to be the real villain in the story, I can say I am so satisfied by how the story has progressed so far.
The time paradox still hurts my brain, but I am choosing that this drama does not assume that time is linear.
There is still not enough people watching this drama and I’m begging you all to go and catch up before it ends in two weeks time.
6. More than Friends (JTBC)
Tumblr media
A little trivia: I reblog most of the posts from @kdramastuff even if I am not watching the show at the point of reblogging the posts. I had been following her posts on this drama for 3 weeks, and I finally decided to marathon all 6 episodes and joined the watching party.
More than Friends was another drama that many people called a disappointment but I had a different opinion on it. Yes, I used to be the nerd who had different opinions on many things in high school sue me
The drama is premised on Kyung Woo Yeon who is said to have a crush on her high school friend, Lee Soo for 10 years. Lee Soo is nowhere near to be the perfect boyfriend material. He is selfish, does not care about other people’s feelings, and was always a lone ranger.
BUUUUUUT, Lee Soo seemed to show signs of care and affection (even though it was not at all for a normal person’s standard) for Woo Yeon. Surprisingly, he seemed to only do it for Woo Yeon and gave attention to Woo Yeon alone, even though he could practically pick and choose anyone he liked from the swarm of girls who were chasing him.
One day, he told Woo Yeon that he had to leave to the US to study, which made our girl sad. She decided to confess at the airport, but he outright turned her down, saying he only wanted to be friends with her. Over the time, they kept running into each other by coincidence (note: her name Woo Yeon is a wordplay on coincidence in Korean). Later, it was revealed that he wanted her to always be by his side, but he has built a wall as tall as the Great Wall of China before the idea of love so he didn’t realise what his true feeling for Woo Yeon was all along.
Woo Yeon, who felt sick of the ten-year crush, decided to end the “curse” and kissed him by the beach, thinking of getting a closure on her crush.
Tumblr media
Long story short, Lee Soo finally realised his feeling for her and decided to confess, but by that time, a young, handsome, rich CEO of a conglomerate has entered into the picture. Cue the game of cat and mouse between Lee Soo and Woo Yeon about resentment, regret and relationship.
This drama was promoted as a romcom, but it feels more like a slice-of-life drama with a mix of melo and romcom in there. Seriously, I cried buckets watching this drama, not something you’d expect from a romcom. The dialogues were well-written, with each episode revolving around a specific theme. This was such a good drama coming from a rookie writer.
This drama did not have that many viewers to begin with, and many of those few people dropped it along the way, including the one who was responsible in getting me hooked into this drama :p  By the end of it, there were so few people talking about this drama in the tag (shout out to @dohyunsoo @have-yet-to-decide @starfire-s @thbn-anything for keeping me company to the very end of this drama)
This drama broke my record of screenshots per episode and total screenshots for any show. Until now, I have yet to finish posting them. I should probably upload more screenshots later tonight.
This drama had some AMAZING shots in the first half, with beautiful sceneries mostly in Seoul. It’s like what they said, “a daily occurrence for you, a trip for me”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. Oh My Baby (tvN)
Tumblr media
I did not even remember watching this drama!! It was only after scrolling through my gallery that I saw I had shared some posts on my ig story about the drama.
It was in the middle of a lockdown when this drama aired and many of my memories from back then feel so distant to me.
The plot was not THAT good, but this drama is something you may consider if you like torturing yourself about the struggle of wanting to have a baby.
8. Once Again (KBS2)
Tumblr media
Arguably one of the weekend family drama KBS2 in a while that kept me waiting for new episodes in front of my TV. Some people are turned off by weekend family drama because they tend to have slow pacing which makes viewers feel like they are being dragged to one of those boring corporate events that you would rather miss and wish you could be literally anywhere else.
Because this drama had more pairing than the typical weekend family drama, the story did take some time before it was on full momentum. It did feel like the drama could have been better with even one less sibling to worry about, but it was a fun watch in the middle of lockdown.
Will I watch it again? I’d rather rewatch House of Bluebird (starring Lee Joon Hyuk and Lee Sang Yeob as friends to enemies to friends again) because that drama spoke to me in a way that was more relatable. No hate to Once Again though. I just prefer House of Bluebird better.
Note: Justice for Song Ga Hee and her lovely son, Kim Ji Hoon. He had to grow up so much because of what happened to his mother, that it broke Ga Hee’s heart. And mine of course
9. Secret Forest 2 (tvN)
Tumblr media
I watched Secret Forest once it has finished and I fell in love with the drama! Imagine my excitement when they announced Secret Forest 2 with my three main characters reprising their roles. No hate to Yoon Se Ah, I love her, but her screen time in Secret Forest was not enough to make me excited about her return. But I was pleased with her role in Secret Forest 2 and I hope if there is a third season, her character gets the redemption arc that she yearns for.
Secret Forest 2 was not as intense as the brilliant original, but I understood that it had to do with the overall theme of the season, and the theme required the script to be as such. Some people may argue me on this, but I still think what they pulled off was brilliant.
Too bad there was a severe lack of Lee Joon Hyuk on my screen though.
10. Tale of the Nine-Tailed (tvN)
Tumblr media
Well. This drama went far beyond my expectation. The OTP was to die for. No such thing as miscommunication trope. This drama did not waste time on unnecessary drama. The pacing was incredibly fast, even faster than Kairos. Although to be fair, Kairos had to play with two different timelines and required time to establish the setting.
I’m sad about what happened to Lee Rang, but he did what he did, and he would never be able to erase that much pain from his memory even if the deities decided to be lenient on him because of his roles in killing off Imoogi. A fresh start as a human seemed like a fair reset to his life, and I hope he lives well, surrounded by people who love him.
I was never a fan of Jo Bo Ah (no hate on her, I was just indifferent) but this drama opened my eyes to what an incredible actress she is. I wish her a successful career ahead.

Gravity (Jooheon)
Tumblr media
Genre: Fluff, King Jooheon
Word Count: 1,447
Note: This was requested and I had written it awhile back but I was getting so frustrated with myself because I wasn’t liking anything that I wrote but I’m so thankful that I cleared my mind and decided to work on it again. Fantasy/fairytale requests are my favorite to write about. I hope you guys enjoy this and feedback is appreciated! Requests are currently open!
Set the Mood: Gravity by Jung Jin Woo or Jimin, Tae, Jin and Jungkooks BTS World theme songs.
. . . . . . .
The crown that rested on Jooheon's head was a solemn reminder that he would officially be King by the end of the night. The pressure to find a suitable bride and produce an heir had begun. His parents and the royal advisor had been throwing princess after princess at him since the celebration began. Only now, when he had excused himself to the restroom, he could catch a breath. Jooheon stood at the balcony that overlooked the party and watched as all the guests mingle. He wondered if any of them shared the thought of the party ending under strange circumstances. He shook his head to rid himself of the idea and continued to people-watch.
The scene continued to remain the same until a familiar person slipped through a side door. It was clear they were hoping to enter unnoticed, but Jooheon saw her.
 His eyes widened. "It can't be."
Taking the steps two at a time, Jooheon descended the balcony hastily. His heart was beating in anticipation, and as he neared his destination, he slowed his pace to calm his breathing. Once his breathing was under control, he stepped up to the familiar girl.
"Y/n?"
Not only did you turn towards his voice, but everyone nearby did as well. Jooheon's chest tightened at the sight of you.  He remembered all the summers the two of you had spent together as children. Your eyes still sparkled the same.
"Jooheon, long time no see."
Without warning, Jooheon found himself engulfing you in a hug. After getting over the initial shock, you relaxed in his arms. Your grip on him loosened as you pulled away gently; he tried not to look too upset. It was the whispers and murmurs that made him realize why you let go of him. The two of you weren't kids anymore; that sort of affection was looked down upon. Jooheon glanced around at the others; he wore a severe expression, and almost immediately, they turned away from him. His gaze softened when it fell back onto you.
"How have you been?" He was eager for you to fill him in on everything since the last time he saw you, which was years ago.
You smiled. "Things could be worse, but what about you? How does it feel to be King?"
A blush crept onto his cheeks; he rolled his eyes teasingly. "Technically, it isn't officially until midnight. I might run away tonight."
Both of you shared a laugh at the inside joke. The guests stared inquisitively at Jooheon specifically to see if he was serious. His grin faded, and he mentally scolded himself for speaking without thinking.
"Come on." You took his hand and led him out of the ballroom and into the garden.
"I forget just how many people hang onto my every word now that I'm to be King."
"You said it yourself; nothing is official until midnight. Whatever you say, you say as a Prince and not a King." You gave him an earnest smile.
Thanks to the moon, your eyes twinkled more than usual. He was stuck staring into your eyes that he didn't notice he was still holding onto your hand until you slipped away. You strolled on the path a few steps ahead of him and admired the flowers that caught everyone's attention when they entered the garden. He stood back with a smile on his face and thanked the heavens for bringing you to him. The lowlight coming from the windows of the ballroom made your features appear softer than they already were, it was like he was looking at the small girl he used to play hide and seek with, but when you turned to speak to him, he was reminded that the two of you were older now.
Though appearances changed, feelings didn't. He felt the same yearning that he felt the last day you were together. Jooheon would like to say that it was no one's fault that the two of you had to go your separate ways, but Jooheon knew deep in his heart that it was his fault. Being the only son, he had been forced to grow up faster to ensure his claim to the throne. So that meant his time spent with you was always pushed to the side until they just stopped occurring.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Your soft voice and tender touch snapped him out of his thoughts.
"I've missed you so much." The words left his mouth without hesitation. It shocked not only him but you too.
"I've missed you too, Jooheon." You looped your arm with his and continued the stroll with your head resting on his bicep, stopping under the weeping willow in the garden's middle.
The two of you would lay under the tree's shade, and with every breeze, the long tendrils would tickle your noses. It was a fond memory that Jooheon held close to his heart. That was the last day he saw you, and he tried so hard to get the courage to kiss you. He thought that if he kissed you, the two of you would be together forever. That was all he ever wanted.
The weeping willow's leaves were so long that Jooheon had to spread them like a curtain to get to the tree's base. It would have been almost pitch black if it weren't for Jooheon's mother insisting on stringing lights with the leaves to make it more enchanting.
Jooheon shuffled behind you nervously, trying to find the right way to ask you to dance without looking like a fool since the music was faint. Since forever, he had known you, so why was it so hard to ask you this simple question? Was it because he wasn't looking at you like a girl but as a woman? Did you see him as a man and not the goofy boy you once knew?
"Jooheon?" You called out to him again, your eyebrows knitted in concern.
With a deep breath, he decided it was now or never. "Y/n, do you want to dance?" He held his hand out for you to hopefully take it, and when you did, he felt as if he was being transported back to simpler days.
"I thought you'd never ask." You made your way to him and let him hold you close.
"I'm sorry we lost contact." He whispered in your ear after a moment of silence. You pressed your cheek against his chest.
"It's not your fault. We have responsibilities thanks to our titles."
"I wonder how different things could have been if I had stayed in contact." He spun you around slowly and admired how beautiful you looked in your gown.
"Nothing has changed for me." You answered once you were close to him again.
"Some things must have changed for you." He pressed on, hoping you would open up to him like before.
"When you have two older brothers, You have to wait your turn to see how your life is going to turn out."
Jooheon nodded, and even though it was a solemn reality, you still smiled about it.
"Y/n, I need to get some things off my chest."
"Of course, go ahead." You looked at him with a kind expression.
"I know I said a lot of things have changed in my life, but there is one thing that hasn't."
Jooheon paused, his heart was racing, and he was sure that you could probably feel it by how close you were.
"I realize now that I can't keep thinking that change is bad. I need to stop wishing life stayed the way it was all those years ago, because now that you're here and I see that not only did you change and grow into the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, but I've grown and changed too. And even though earlier I was so scared of accepting my title as King, now that you're here, I don't want to be without you. I don't want to go through this alone."
The dancing stopped, and the music faded into the background.
"I love you, and I've always loved you ever since we were young. I didn't do anything before, but I'm doing something about it now. And I'm saying this as a King, not a prince. I love you, and I want you by my side forever." He caressed your cheek and pressed his lips to yours. You kissed back right away, which eased his nervousness.
The kiss lasted a few moments longer until you pulled away ever so slightly to say the words he had been yearning to hear for a long time.
"I love you too, Jooheon."

Can I ask your thoughts on ships between jiang yanli x lan xichen or jiang yanli x nie mingjue..? Based on their personality can jiang yanli romantic relationship works with either of them? (Of cource I ship jiang yanli and jin zixuan, and I know deep down he have a good quality). Sorry for the random question.....
Nooo no need to apologize! Random questions are fun and I am always down to chat
As far as Jiang Yanli ships go...well, despite what my fics suggest, I am a multishipper at heart and want Jiang Yanli to have nice things so, short answer: yes. Give her all the beautiful respectful men who love and adore her!!
Longer answer based on my views of the characters below the cut bc WOO boy this got long:
Jiang Yanli/Lan Xichen
Part of me really wants this to work because they are similar in a lot of the ways they interact with their family and with the roles and responsibilities they have to handle. And like frankly, both of them deserve some non-volatile relationships where they don’t constantly have to play peacekeeper. So pros in their favor: I just want them to have nice things, they both seem more emotionally mature and intelligent than...a lot of their peers, and in-universe it makes decent political sense. They could create a solid team of tact and diplomacy tying Gusu Lan and Yunmeng Jiang into a solid alliance. They can both have someone to take care of them for a chance. Jiang Yanli can broaden Lan Xichen’s culinary horizons; Lan Xichen can (depending on what headcanon you go with for Jiang Yanli’s health issues) play healing music for her and paint her lovely art. I like all of this for them bc I want them to have soft and good things 😂😂
As for things going against this relationship...I think there can be such a thing as being too similar. Both have the tendency to sublimate themselves for the sake of those they love, both are constrained by their duty and positions in a way that makes it hard to see them really going for it if their family or anyone raised objections, and especially post-sunshot, I think both would be likely to hold off for both personal and political reasons. Both their sects have been horrendously injured by the war and both of them are dealing with major family losses and struggles. Obv that can bring ppl together (see the “have someone to care for them” point above lol) but grief and loss are messy, non-linear experiences and oftentimes, the way we experience them doesn’t fit nicely with the way other people experience them. I think Jiang Yanli is pretty reluctant to leave her sect in the wake of the war, especially with Wei Wuxian clearly Going Thru Some Shit and with Jiang Cheng suddenly having to be a sect leader, and imo part of the appeal of Jin Zixuan at that point is that he offers a stability and security that her family can’t anymore—and which, having just lost their sect leader, had their home razed, and fought a war—Gusu Lan also wouldn’t be able to.
Which is all to say that this has turned into a desire for me to see star-crossed Jiang Yanli/Lan Xichen where he doesn’t want to drag her into the mess of post-war Gusu Lan and she doesn’t want to be another burden when he’s already dealing with a lot (& also understandably wants one (1) thing to be easy). It would make me sad and I would love it
Jiang Yanli/Nie Mingjue
On the note of tragedy! I feel like you can really make this ship an ocean liner of sadness and pyrrhic revenge :’)
But we’re talking compatibility so: I think Jiang Yanli could enjoy having Nie Mingjue’s strength and steadfastness behind her—both in larger terms and in the personal. Politically, after sunshot, the Nie are pretty much the best-off after the Jin (the bar is so low here folks but anyway) which means that marrying into the Nie sect might actually be the best route for stable power, non-lecherous in-laws, and being able to both live comfortably herself and have more ability to help her own family. a strong marriage alliance between qinghe nie and yunmeng jiang coupled with Nie Mingjue’s close friendship/sworn brotherhood with Lan Xichen might actually create one of the few settings where I can buy into the other sects having a reasonable amount of alliance/strength/solidarity to stand in opposition to Lanling Jin (which is ofc vital for keeping Wei Wuxian and the Wens alive, which is a major component of Letting Yanli Have Nice Things)
on the other hand, what we get of Nie Mingjue in canon is...pretty rigid and grounded in principle rather than practicality, and I think Jiang Yanli is used to the practical aspects of living with people—being someone without a lot of control over her own life, who is constantly trying to balance and smooth over the troubles of her notably volatile family, I think she is well-acquainted with the (oftentimes bitter) art and necessity of compromise. and as we see from nie mingjue’s arguments with lan xichen about jin guangyao, nie mingjue doesn’t handle that kind of flexibility super duper well. so that’s a pretty major obstacle to compatibility and a happy marriage, especially if you throw wei wuxian into that argument because being married to someone who genuinely thinks her brother deserves death is not a thing I think would be conducive to Jiang Yanli’s happiness TBH
SO my conclusion for both ships:
can totally be persuaded to buy into them and have a great deal of fun
 with fluffy versions where Jiang Yanli just gets nice things and they get either
(in lxc’s case) someone to love and support them without needing him to Be A Big Brother all the time or
 (in nmj’s case) someone who cares about him and encourages him to broaden his moral and life perspective
in tragic versions where lxc and jyl can’t be together because of their separate duties or nmj dies and jyl winds up as part of nhs’ plans as either co-conspirator or collateral damage
and think in both cases there are significant personal challenges that would lead to conflict/friction that could be v fun story-wise or could cut them off before they get together

Four years ago…
“Come one, don’t be such a drag!” Jungkook says pulling on your arm as he pulls you towards the house party you definitely don’t want to go to. You, and your two friends for the record, have midterms to study for and a party isn’t going to help you remember anything on the study list.
“Yeah, come on Y/N! You haven’t been out in forever!” Hoseok yells from behind you, already in the party spirit after pregaming at your apartment for the past hour. “Plus, this is our last year of university and then we start the real world. We deserve to have a little fun after working our asses off for the past four years! So, I want you to turn that frown upside down and let’s go!” Hoseok pinches your butt which makes you jump and yelp in surprise, making the boys laugh at your outburst.
“It’s time to have fun before we graduate and you go off to some country doing God’s work or whatever,” Jungkook says, slinging and arm around your shoulders.
You’ve known Jungkook since childhood, you two were literally diaper buddies. Your moms were best friends and got pregnant a couple weeks apart from each other. You and Jungkook have often wondered if it was just coincidence that they got pregnant around the same time or if it was planned. Either way, the two of you grew up more like siblings instead of friends.
You spent every weekend growing up at either his house or him at yours. You know every secret of his and vice versa. Every crush brought teasing and every heartbreak brought hugs and a movie night. When your high school boyfriend dumped you right before graduation, Jungkook dropped his grad date to take you instead. Jungkook was always the shy one in your duo and you knew how much courage it had taken him to ask the girl out, so you had refused at first. But he had always pictured the two of you going together so you agreed. The other girl wasn’t graduating that year, so you didn’t feel too bad stealing him away.
People always wondered if there was more going on between you two. Did she like him? Did he like her? But there was never anything like that with him. You knew too much about each other for there to be any romance. Yeah, as the two of you got older, Jungkook sprouted from being a wide eyed adorable little boy to a chiseled, sporty muscle man from long hours spent at the gym. And you grew into your curves, your face cleared up and smoothed out. People are always wondering if there’s something going on.
“It’s not God’s work, you doofus, I just want to go and help children who lost their parents due to war or sickness. That way when I come back home, I’ll be able to use the knowledge I got from there to spread awareness and help from here,”
“Please, Mother Teresa, don’t bring down the mood when we’re about to go walk into the most hyped party of the year,” Hobi says, nudging your side with his elbow. “I don’t want to think about sad parentless children right now. I’m too far gone right now and I might start crying.”
You met Hobi on your very first day of orientation in your first year. You and Jungkook had decided to go to the same university, so you were sitting together at a table when Hoseok came over and asked if he could sit in the extra chair at your table. It didn’t take long for Hobi to secure a spot in your friend group, making your lifelong duo into a trio.
Hobi is more extroverted like yourself so you always had someone to go to parties with when JK would need to recharge his social battery. Hobi was the missing piece you didn’t know was missing. Mostly the three of you did everything together; parties, classes, even going to each others’ hometowns for holidays. The three of you were best friends through and through.
And then in your second year, you met Seokjin and your trio became a foursome. He was graduating that year and decided one night at a party to share his university wisdom and hacks on you and your friends. For some reason he took a liking to the three of you and sought you out a few days after the party and you became actual friends.
You didn’t think you needed someone new in your group, but you couldn’t help warming to this older man who acted the same age as you. it was hard not accept him and his weirdly iconic laugh that was well known around the university grounds and his bad dad jokes. You thought he would bring a sense of maturity to your friend group but when the three of you were all together, you acted more like school children instead of adults.
When he graduated, you were scared things were going to change, that he wouldn’t have as much time to hang out with you anymore but Jin made it a mission to hang out with you at least once a week. And for the past two years, he’s kept that promise. Even when all of you were super busy with school or work. You always made sure to make time for your windshield wiper laughing friend.
“Sorry, sorry,” you say before clearing your throat, “Woo! It’s party time! I’m gonna get so wasted, and dance, and probably hook up with someone if the night goes how I want it,” you proclaim in a high pitched voice, mimicking what Hobi said back at your place.
“Har har,” he glares at you, but a smile graces his features a second later. “Seriously though, I’m going balls to the wall tonight so if I don’t remember who you are at the end of the night then you can be happy for me.”
“You can go balls to the wall but I’m hoping to go balls to pussy tonight,” Jungkook laughs and hold his fist to Hobi to bump.
You and Hoseok groan and you roll you eyes.
“Keep that hetero talk to yourself please. I’m not drunk enough to listen to that,” Hobi shivers in disgust.
“Seriously do you have to be so gro—” you start to say before someone bumps into you hard which makes you lose your footing and trip into Jungkook’s side.
“I’m so sorry!” the tall boy who knocked into you exclaims, grabbing your arms to steady you and you grab onto his. “My friend nudged me, and I wasn’t expecting it and I kinda fell, and I fell into you, and I’m so sorry!”
“Uh, yeah, it’s ok,” you say straightening up, “I didn’t get hurt so no harm done,” you smile. When his dark eyes reach yours after checking you out to make sure you really aren’t hurt, his jaw goes slack. “Ar-are you ok?” you ask, concern flooding your features. He stands, staring at you while still holding onto your arms until one of his friends pushes at his shoulder from behind.
“Oh, uh, I’m fine!” he says, shaking his head and throwing you a boxy smile. Your pulse quickens at this seriously attractive, flustered man, who’s still holding onto you with his big warm hands. His dark, slightly wavey hair falls into his eyes and you’re glad that he’s holding your arms because you think you would have run your fingers through it to get it off his forehead. His cologne tickles your nose and has you wanting to do some crazy things right here in the middle of the party thrower’s lawn.
“Well now that we know everyone is all good, we’re going to get going,” Jungkook says from behind you, grabbing your bicep and pulling you from the guy’s grasp.
The guy flicks his eye to Jungkook and instantly drops his hands from you and takes a step back, bursting the bubble the two of you were in. He sends you a small smile before dropping it to stare at his feet. You let Jungkook pull you away, the stranger’s cologne still lingering in your nose, making your head feel thick and dizzy with desire.
“— could have let her get his name before pulling her away,” you catch the last bit of what Hobi says, the delicious smell finally leaving your system.
“He was eye fucking her so much that I knew he didn’t care about her name,” Jungkook huffs, and you’re now realizing his arm is back around your shoulders.
“Excuse me?” you ask incredulously, craning your neck to stare up at him.
“Don’t worry, I saved you. I could tell that all he wanted was in your pants,” he smiles triumphantly at you.
“Maybe I wanted him in my pants. Did you see him?” you glare at him.
“That boy was blessed by every god. He was just,” hobi brings his hand up to do a chef’s kiss, “perfect.”
“Exactly,” you sigh dreamily. “And who are you to dictate who I can or can’t date or fuck? My body, my choice,” you stop right before the door to shove Jungkook’s arm off your shoulders and to turn and glare at him. “If I want to get my brains fucked out of me with someone who you don’t deem good enough,” you say, air quoting good enough, “then I will. It’s not up to you, ok?”
“Preach,” Hobi says, clicking his tongue at Jungkook.
“Ok, I’m sorry. I know it’s your choice and everything, but I just didn’t get a good feeling about him ok?” he gives you his puppy dog eyes pout which always makes you forgive him.
“Because you won’t be the hottest of our group if she dates him?” Hobi offers, smiling mockingly at Jungkook.
“I just didn’t ok? Can we drop it now and go in?” he asks, looking towards the door.
“Yess!” Hobi screams. “Let’s go second best!” he grabs Jungkook’s arm and opens the door, pulling the big lug through the door. You giggle at them as you watch them get swallowed up by the huge crowd of people littering every available space in the house. You turn to look back at the stranger only to find him already staring at you. Your body erupts in tingles and goosebumps and your heart starts pounding. You smile shyly before walking into the booming house.
~~~~~~
A couple hours, and many drinks later, you’re happily dancing with Hoseok in the middle of the makeshift dancefloor. Your sweaty bodies mingling and sharing space with the other dancers. Jungkook disappeared almost immediately after entering the party but Hoseok, your party buddy, hasn’t left your side, except the few times to get more drinks.
Which now that you’re thinking about it, you could use a refill.
You shimmy closer to your friend, bringing your lips close to his ear. “I need another drink! Do you want anything?” you shout to be heard over the music pumping through your veins. He shakes his head and continues dancing by himself before some cute, petite guy twirls into his arms and starts grinding into him.
You push your way through the throng of bodies, wanting to get away from that scene quickly. You’re glad he has someone to dance with but you really don’t want to see your best friend getting some. The floor is so packed you get hips and elbows connecting to your body with every step. You’re having troubles navigating around everyone when suddenly a hand reaches out and grabs your wrist. The mystery person manages to pull you past everyone and out of the raving crowd.
You don’t know who grabbed you, you don’t recognize the back that’s in front of you, but you’re thankful they got you out of there so quicky. The heat was starting to make you dizzy and your stomach twist. Mystery man pulls you to a quieter part of the room, against the wall farthest from the dance floor. He turns around and to your excitement it’s the same guy who bumped into you outside.
His dark eyes are now glassy and bloodshot from a night of drinking and you’re sure your eyes look the exact same. His mouth moves in such a nice way that you can’t tear your eyes away from it. The things you want that mouth to do to you has the blood running through your veins turning to fire. His cologne which is now mixed with alcohol and the faintest traces of cigarette smoke. Not what you’d usually go for but for some reason you find it so sexy and intoxicating. Your already drunk mind feels ten times more fuzzy standing this close to him. You’ve never wanted someone so badly before. His perfect mouth is still moving when you realize he’s trying to talk to you.
“Sorry, what?” you yell, tearing your gaze away from his mouth and to his eyes. He smirks and leans closer. You take a deep breath in, drinking in as much of him as you can.
“Do you want to get out of here? Find somewhere quiet where we can… talk?” he asks, his eyes moving to your lips. He ignites something so ferocious in you that you don’t even recognize who you are right now as you nod your head.
This isn’t like you. You don’t drunkenly hook up with random people, that’s Jungkook’s thing. He’s so shy but once that alcohol hits, he becomes a sex maniac and anyone with a vagina between their legs will do. But that’s never been you. You’re always careful and you at least like to know the person you are sleeping with. You’ve always preferred knowing the name you’ll be moaning out.
But maybe you’ve been missing out on the anonymity. You’ve never seen this guy before on campus so there won’t be any of those awkward smiles and forced small talk when you run into each other. You’re kind of looking forward to it as he pulls you by the hand again towards the stairs.
But when he turns to the door instead of the stairs, alarm bells start ringing in your head. Maybe Jungkook was right and there is something wrong with him? He pulls you outside but before you get too far, you plant your feet on the ground, trying not to sway too much. What if he goes around to university campuses and lures girls in with his incredible smile and hopes of hooking up and then murders them? He stops and turns to look at you in confusion.
“Where are we going?” you ask cautiously, reaching your hand down to your jeans pocket to feel for your phone.
“To the diner just down the road. I asked if you wanted to go and you said yes. Did you change your mind? We can go back in if you want? I just don’t really like parties and thought talking over a burger and fries sounded like a better way to get to know you. But if you don’t want to go with me, that’s ok,” he drops your hand and takes a step away from you. “You don’t even know my name, of course you don’t want to go with me. I’m so sorry, I’ve probably scared you,” he runs his hand over his face and through his hair while grimacing. “Let’s just go back inside. I’m such an idiot,” he whispers and starts to walk past you, but you grab his hand to stop him. He’s either a really good actor or he’s being sincere. It might be the alcohol, but you feel like you can trust him.
“Let me just text my friends where we’re going and then we can go, ok? I didn’t hear you properly inside so when we went outside, I didn’t understand what was happening,” you say, giving him a reassuring smile. He lets out a relieved sigh as you pull you phone out. But then his smile drops, and he looks back at the house.
“I, uh, don’t know how to say this, or if I should be the one saying this. I mean, I don’t know your relationship, but if it was me, I’d want to know, so I should just tell you, right?” he says quickly, almost to himself.
“What are you talking about?” you ask. Your relationship? What is he talking about?
“I, um, saw your boyfriend making out with another girl,” he winces as he looks into your eyes and squeezes his hands together.
“My boyfriend? I’m not dating anyone?” you shake your head in confusion. And maybe if you weren’t so drunk you would have realized instantly that he was talking about your best friend.
“But… earlier… he…?” he stumbles over his words. “When I almost knocked you over? That big guy? Isn’t he your boyfriend?” he scratches his nose, and you notice for the first time that he has a small mole on the end of his nose and now how you definitely want to kiss it.
“The big guy?”
It takes you a painfully long time to understand who he is talking about but when you finally do, you burst out laughing at the absurdity of it. You and Jungkook? Never in a million years. The bewildered look on the guys face is too much for you and it makes you laugh harder. Tears prick at your eyes and you don’t even know why you find it so funny, but you do, and you can’t stop the giggles.
“Me and Jungkook? No!” your head falls backward and the tears streak down your face. “I’m sorry for laughing so much! But he’s like my brother! I’d never date him!” you wipe at your eyes with one hand and hold your stomach with the other.
“Oh… yeah?” he says, his face brightening.
“Yeah. We’ve known each other since we were babies. We’re basically siblings so the thought of us dating is just hilarious but also so gross,” you say before taking a deep breath. “Oh, you’re so cute. That was the best. Thank you for that!” you giggle again while unlocking your phone. You miss the blush the covers his cheeks as he smiles shyly and looks away. You quickly send a message to your group chat letting them know you left and where you’re going.
“I’m Taehyung by the way, but my friends call me Tae,” he says sheepishly. You add his name to the text before sending it.
“I’m Y/N,” you hold your hand out for him to shake. “It’s very nice to meet you, Tae.” His big hand engulfs yours and he shakes your hand. You really want those hands on you but right now this will do. “So, this diner, they have desserts?”
“Yeah, I think so,” he nods his head, smiling.
“Then let’s go!” you take his hand and pull him down the walkway.
It’s a little chilly out with the sun down which you didn’t think about when you agreed to walk, but Tae senses you’re cold and pulls you closer. He puts his hands, with your one hand still clasped tightly together, in his jacket pockets. The warmth you get from him and the lingering heat from the alcohol in enough to keep you toasty.
The two of you talk the whole way to the diner, never once falling into an awkward silence. Because both of you are inebriated, the conversation isn’t too serious. You mostly talk about your dreams and crazy things on your bucket lists. Laughs and giggles fill the night air as you stroll along the sidewalk, a few cars passing you by and illuminating your close figures. Everyone driving by probably thinking you’re dating, and you honestly don’t mind the mix up.
As a pretty outgoing person, you’re used to talking to people easily, but something feels different with Tae. There hasn’t been any awkwardness between you despite the fact that you’ve just met ten minutes ago and you’re huddled together so close that once your icy breath reaches his, they mingle together before disappearing into the night. You normally make friends easily with your cheerful disposition, so you’re not sure why this feels different, but it does and you’re not complaining. It feels like you’ve known Tae for years.
It’s just a hunch you have, and maybe it’s so strong because you’re so drunk, but you feel good things coming your way with Tae. And you really can’t wait.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope you enjoyed that chapter and how they met. I can’t wait to show you the rest of the flashbacks I have planned!
Top Ten Shows with #s in the titles
Because there are many ways to divide dramas, and this is one. XD The K2 Oh, yes, let's start with the one that should have been so much cooler. What should have been the core of the story: is it possible for a good, if terribly broken (kudos to the show for portraying PTSD), man to save a bad, and equally broken, woman with the power of his friendship? Unfortunately, they thought a ridiculous lot of action, a few good actors, and the potential for awesome could save an 11th hour gutting of the best parts of the drama in favor of an absolutely idiotic (and entirely inappropriate) loveline with a actress who could not hold her own against the other leads. It did not work. I will say the action scenes are still fun and the OST is one I still enjoy, though. Right along with the glorious speculation on what could have been. XD 7th Grade Civil Servant ...'k, and this was a DNF. It was a stupid, slapstick spy comedy that even fans of such (of which I am not one) did not enjoy. I was hoping, because it had Joo Won in, but...no. I could barely make it through the beginning. Two Weeks Okay, I liked this one. It is a drama not really for children or the undiscerning...but a good story in multiple ways. It’s one of those incredible redemption stories that I adored but that which is slightly harder to recommend to everyone indiscriminately. Basically, the MC made a terrible choice in attempting to protect someone he loved, and his life was destroyed. When the story starts, he is in a very bad place, and the story doesn't shy away from the depths to which he has sunk. When his ex-girlfriend finds him and tells him that she actually had the baby he demanded she abort, and that baby is now a young girl dying of leukemia who needs him donate stem cells...his life takes a different turn. Watching him fight step by step to believe that he can change, that he can become the person those he loves need so desperately, and come to a full understanding of what exactly he has done in the past...it's incredible. {There is a scene where he ends up helping a stranger deliver her baby, and the moment it truly hits him what he almost forced his girlfriend to do and that he might never have met his daughter if his girlfriend had followed through...gah.} This ^ scene, sure, might lose a few points for why is a man on the run from the police and the bad guys helping a random lady deliver a baby of all things? and is this too on the nose in forcing him to make up for not supporting his own family when he should have done so? But it all depends on how you feel about symbolism. XD Also, I just discovered, doing my usual fruitless search for a good MV of Two Weeks, that Japan has also done a version, which stars Miura Haruma. Which A) brb, watching that now, and B) that leads directly into: 5 Minutes to Tomorrow A man enters the twisting reality of a highly concerning pair of twin sisters...which one died and which one came home as his wife?  This also counts as a DNF, I guess, because I have tried to watch this movie 2-3 times and fallen asleep promptly every time, which is not a great recommendation for any kind of murder mystery. To be fair, the Chinese or Japanese movies I have watched have been few and far between. All of the latter, however have been the fault of the following drama: Bloody Monday 1-2 This is totally cheating and I really don't care. There are rare Korean or Japanese shows with seasons, so I'm utilizing that unique aspect. XD Anyway, it's been a while since I watched it, but I highlight it for 2 reasons: Miura Haruma and Sato Takeru.   Okay, just kidding. But I keep checking out and then dropping Japanese films and shows in hopes of one or the other of these two will be in another show as brilliantly addicting as this one. So far, Sato Takeru is the only one who has managed it. What made Bloody Monday so good? Plotting, pacing, characters. It is a j-drama/dorama, so be warned that compared to the k-dramas I tend to watch it is a little more graphic in terms of language, death, clothing choices, subject matter...but if you're looking for a fight-the-terrorist-save-the-world story utilizing a genius hacker and his best friends and a brilliantly charismatic villain..this is it. The villain subconsciously inspired a decent amount of my Contract to Time Travel character Ja-Il - his intelligence, his charisma, his relationship with his siblings...but one of the main reasons I love it is that the MC is so resoundingly true. When it comes down to saving his country or betraying his principles, what choice will he make? Tactically he may be stupid, but he's still practically a child, and the strength of his convictions matters to me. Also, I loved that season 2 did not pick up with everyone the same. It showed how people were hurt, how people were changed, how people grew up, from season 1. It hurt, but it felt real. Queen for Seven Days Speaking of watching new dramas because of who is in them...Park Min Young SLAYS in every drama I've seen her in (including rom com, which I DO NOT EVEN WATCH but which I have watched for her and pretty much died laughing over)...and Yeon Woo Jin (who...now that I think about it...I have watched a rom-com with him in it too...yikes...this is not me...) Maybe I'm an idiot for wanting to ruin the two rom-coms I've enjoyed in my life by seeing two of their leads in a tragedy, but...I have heard nothing but high praise for every aspect of this drama except the trailers, and once I get past my current stack of tragic historical dramas, I'm definitely going to watch this one. Five Fingers This one is on hold...to be honest, I only ever wanted to watch it because of the opening sequence of piano music, which I watched. All I know is it's about pseudo-brothers and revenge and pianos? And there's a fire in there somewhere? Which sounds like a fun combination, but I'm not sure as a story that has enough weight to pull me completely in. I might do better with my time to just learn some piano music for myself.... 38 Task Force Okay, for something not a revenge tragedy...this weirdly named show is for fans of Leverage and Seo In Guk. The relationships weren't quite so well done as I'd hoped, and the cons (which then became the point of it all) were minimally memorable. I remember one of them involved the main conman giving a speech at a fancy place...and another involved him coming up with a car out of thin air...and another had something to do with antiques and throwing money everywhere. So. I remember enjoying it enough to watch it...but not much else. Rating: Eh. School 2013 Aw...one more drama that is neither tragedy nor romance. It's a school drama about guilt, honesty, dreams, the impact of adult role models on troubled children, and a David-Jonathan friendship that went horribly wrong. As such it is a lot less weighty than most of the others on this list...yet while you're watching it you forget that the only thing at stake is the friendship of some high school boys and possibly their futures. Which I think is something Korean dramas sometimes excel at - is the tragic destruction of a friendship going to destroy the world? No, but when you're in the situation it might feel like it is, and the drama manages to pull you in so that you feel what they're feeling. Six Flying Dragons Sooooo....back to tragedies....*cough* Caveat: I have not yet finished this. But just the first few episodes plunged me into the founding of a nation and the creation of a man - I love how Korean dramas are not afraid to spend the time setting up the world and showing you exactly what choices were made to make someone the person they became. And maybe it’s a bloody mess of history but it’s tragic and fascinating and even if largely fictionalized there is so much to learn from history, let alone about story-telling. I’m looking forward to watching this one as a whole.   What is your favorite drama or movie with a number in the title? Which of the above have you watched? XD
Jin-Woo having absolutely no interest in taking the time to tell people he’s human fits what’s established at the beginning at the first novel.
Which is that people who look down on him (for weakest e-rank, thinking he got possessed) aren’t entitled to know jack about what’s up with him. So he tells someone ‘I am totally just a risk-taking idiot’ to get them to drop it. So letting people keep assuming he isn’t human fits ‘you are not a high enough level friend to unlock my tragic backstory’
But I was like ‘AU where Kamish’s shadow didn’t fall apart and Jin-Woo got to keep the tailwaggy dragon’ during the conference. He didn’t summon him when fighting Thomas Andre because Jin-Woo knows trauma from the effing Cartenon Temple statues.
When Thomas goes to apologize, Jin-Woo goes, ‘The US gave me an opportunity to get a new summon’ and they go out to a huge field and Thomas gets to pose for photos where he’s heroically vanquishing Kamish, and the Scavenger guild taking a photo standing him on while he’s in a dramatic death position. And there is throwing of a massive tree trunk, and more people seeing Sung Jin-Woo speak monster language.
So the conference people go, hey, since you can talk to monsters would you be willing to do a presentation on any info about WTF is up with the gates that you might know (from being a monster boss). And he thinks and then sighs and admits he’s still trying to figure out who he needs to fight to stop the gates but there’s no reason not to tell people what he does know since it actually is their business for once. And asks the conference organize to ask the American bureau thing if Ms. Selner is willing to come up.
So like, the hunters seeing inhuman stoic (except when he’s smiling at apocalyptic dragons apparently) badass Sung Jun-Woo expose his Complete Inability To Communicate. He actually tries to tell people things for once in his life! And probably sprains something. He got Ms. Selner up to ask her like, what she could learn from sensing people but a lot of it is her going. ‘that one-sentence answer made no sense, wtf is a system please elaborate.’ But like, politely since if this guy doesn’t help humanity is doomed.
So you get Sung Jin-Woo getting to reveal all this badass stuff he’s done that no one knew about, but also people going ‘this is an orphan with negative EQ who uses flat affect and ignoring people not bc arrogance but because talking to people is exhausting so the answer to ‘do I care enough to try to correct this misunderstanding’ is almost always no.’
He is a Good Kid who like, isn’t possessed yet but was definitely being groomed for possession, who is basically trying to deal with all this alone bc what happened to his parents made him like Harry Potter in that like, the idea that going to adults for help is an option is completely foreign to him.
People going ‘uh why didn’t you?’ and he’s just blinking ‘oh yeah... in hindsight that was a thing I could have done...’ and the juxtaposition of terrifying strategist hunter and ‘no thoughts head empty’ communicator
Year in review - 2020
2020 has been a mixed bag of an year. Where on one hand it has been a raging dumpster fire with a global pandemic, lockdowns, social distancing, online schools, politics, forest fires, Karens and the general sense of ennui that the year brought. On the other hand, the year gave us all time. Time to reflect on ourselves. Time to teach ourselves new things. Time to binge watch. And boy did the streaming platforms make full use of it. Listed below are the best things I saw in 2020. (Across languages and in no specific order.) IT IS A LONG POST. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
HINDI Thappad: Dir: Anubhav Sinha. Starring: Tapasee Pannu, Pavail Gulati, Diya Mirza, Kumud Mishra and Ratna Pathak Shah. On surface level, the premise seems frivolous. After all, it was just a slap. Just. One. Slap. Yet, with that one slap, the protagonist’s neatly organized world comes apart at the seams. From there begins Amruta’s (Tapsee Pannu) journey into exploring the micro-aggressions and tiny slights that she has turned a blind eye to, for the sake of keeping peace. The film never veers into a glorification of violence nor does it get overly preachy. It is a mirror to the patriarchal society and raises pertinent questions about the things that the society as normalized. Things that shouldn’t be normalized.
Bulbbul: Dir: Anvita Dutt. Starring: Tripti Dimri, Avinash Tiwari, Rahul Bose, Parambrata Chatterjee and Paoli Dam.
Horror does not always lie in the things that go bump at night. Sometimes, horror is what society expects of you. Horror is the consequence of not fitting into the role that has been written for you. Sometimes, it is terrifying to be a woman in a male-dominated society. That is what Bulbbul explores. Wrapped in a beautiful package, Bulbbul tells the raw story of a child-bride who is punished, harshly, inhumanly, for acting her age. If you haven’t seen it yet, drop everything and watch it. It’s on Netflix.
Lootcase: Dir: Rajesh Krishnan. Starring: Kunal Khemu, Rasika Duggal, Vijay Raaz, Gajraj Rao.
This was a charming little movie that had me in splits. A story of a simple man who chances upon a bag full of money. What follows is a hilarious tale of lies, deception and comedy of errors. Kunal Khemu proves that Bollywood does not realize just how talented he is. Vijay Raaz’s deadpan comedy and Gajraj Rao’s evil smiling desperation are a delight to behold. I’m smiling even as I am writing this. This was fun!
Raat Akeli Hai: Dir: Honey Tehran. Starring: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Ila Arun, Shweta Tripathi, Tigmanshu Dhulia.
This was India’s answer to Knives Out. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is at his finest as the honest and frustrated (in more ways than one) police officer who finds himself attracted to the mistress of the murdered man. What follows is a tale so full of twists and turns that I could not predict where it is going. When you have Siddiqui at the helm, you are almost certain to get a good film. But when he is backed by stellar performance from the able cast, that takes the film to another level altogether.
Patal Lok: Dir: Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy. Starring: Jaideep Alhawat, Niraj Kabi, Abhishek Bannerjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Gul Panang, Ishvaak Singh.
Wow. Just. Wow. This is arguably the BEST thing that I have seen all year. On the surface this is an attempted murder case. But what it actually is, is a mirror to our society. It is a human story. A story of greed, corruption, power, violence, misogyny, depravity and true evil. It is a story of love, hope, support, kindness and humanity. It is a story of us. My hats off to the entire cast and crew for coming up with something truly special.
ENGLISH
Haunting of Bly Manor: Created by: Mike Flannagan. Starring: Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Amelia Eve, T’Nia Miller, Rahul Kohli.
Based on Henry Jame’s Turn of the Screw, this was a poignant tale of love, loss and pain. While it pales in comparison to its brilliant predecessor, Haunting of the Hill House, and the 1961 screen adaptation of the novel, The Innocents, Bly Manor still manages to be a worthy watch. In Mike Flannagan’s deft hands, we get to see a completely different perspective of the Haunting. I won’t say more, for spoilers, but this was definitely one of the better things I watched this year. Especially since I almost eschewed English movies/series this year. (I did watch some forgettable movies like Extraction and Mulan, but even mentioning them here feels sacrilegious.)
Korean
This year, I returned to Korean Dramas after a long time. My last Korean Drama before this year was Faith that I saw in 2014. Since Boys Over Flowers (Read Kim Bum) is my guilty pleasure watch, I decided to have it on in the background sometime in March or April this year. (Honestly, in 2020, who knows?). BOF took me to The King: Eternal Monarch. And TKEM introduced me to Woo Do Hwan who gave me some of the best times in this year. Three of his dramas feature here.
Save Me:- Dir: Kim Sung-soo. Starring: Ok Taec-yeon, Seo Yea-ji, Woo Do Hwan, Jo Sung-ha, Jo Jae-yoon.
Do you fancy a kick to your teeth? Because that is what this series is. What starts a simple story of a regular family’s struggles upon moving to a new town, quickly turns into a harrowing nightmare in which you are simply the viewer. The story delves into cults and the insidious power they hold. Through Seo Yea-ji’s brilliant performance as Im Sang-mi, we see a K drama heroine who is not a damsel in distress. She isn’t the one throwing the punches, that is done by Ok Taec-yeon and Woo Do Hwan. Still she is the one that leads the fight. If that wasn’t enough, Woo Do Hwan, plays Seok Dong-chul. Arguably one of the best male leads I have seen.
Mad Dog:- Dir: Hwang Ui-kyung Starring: Yoo Ji-tae, Woo Do Hwan, Jo Jae-joon, Ryu Hwa-young, Kim Hye-sung.
What a treat this show is! Smart protagonists pitted against equally intelligent antagonists and a taut plot that rarely sags (It does sag just a wee bit in the middle but it picks up pace very quickly). Woo Do Hwan is fantastic as the ever changing, tough to pin down, Kim Min Joon. The layers in this character! This show will keep you guessing. Every cast member is stellar and no one has a single misstep. A must watch!
My Country: Dir: Kim Jin-won Starring:  Yang Se Jong, Woo Do Hwan, Kim Seol-hyun, Jang Hyuk.
This series brings a set of very complex emotions in me. Don’t get me wrong. I love the series. Its story, characterization, costumes, cinematography, acting, action scenes, OST. They are top notch. A+. But... and this is a big one, this series is also a glaring display of what happens when a writer falls in love with one of their characters. As a writer, I can say that we love all our characters. But it is very dangerous for a writer to move from simply loving the character to falling in love with the character. When that happens, the writer becomes afraid of letting that particular character make mistakes. Or glosses over their flaws. Often at the expense of the other character. Which is what happened here. The writer fell in love with Seo Hwi and Nam Seon ho paid the price. Hwi could literally assassinate people in front of Hui Jae and still be forgiven for it, while Nam Seon-ho gets demonized for trying to save Hwi by telling lies. I could go on and on about how unfair this series was to Seon-ho, but that would be a separate post altogether.
Tale of a Gumiho: Dir: Kang Shin-hyo Starring: Lee Dong Wook, Jo Bo-ah, Kim Bum.
I started this series for Kim Bum (I LOVE THE GUY). I was prepared for some cheesy, goofy fun with some good looking people. But soon, I was watching it for the story. A smart Urban Fantasy with elements of Korean Mythology, this was UF done right! This series made me do research. I am so tired of seeing the same old myths in fantasy that this came as a breath of fresh air. Intelligent protagonists who communicate well (gasp! what? That happens?). A flip-flopping anti-hero. A truly psychopathic villain and a bunch of other well-fleshed characters make for one entertaining watch. I highly recommend it.
Chinese:
K-dramas made me revive the Tumblr account that I had created sometime in 2017 and which lay dormant since then. Soon, my Tumblr feed was filled with gifs and metas of a show with pretty men. I did not pay much attention to it, till a post about Jin Ling’s Uncle made me snort. Even though I didn’t understand what it was talking about, it was still funny. Realizing that the show is on Netflix, I saw the trailer and wasn’t impressed. Then there was the length. 50 episodes! Holee-moleee. “No. I ain’t got that much time,” I said and moved on. But then, I saw a gif of a man smiling. I had never seen a smile that dazzling. There was something about that smile that made me go back and click on the first episode. And in less than ten minutes of the episode, they killed the man whose smile drew me to the show. WTF? But I had seen gifs of him. There had to be more. Then, the show began and I had no idea what was happening. I decided no smile could be worth the brain-cells I am having to expend for this. Chuck it. But people in Tumblr said, hold on. You will understand it. Episode 2, and I still wasn’t sold. I gave it till episode 5. Then, before I knew it, I finished the 50 episodes and currently reside in the rabbit hole that is The Untamed.
Dir: Zheng Weiwen and Chen Jialin Starring: Xiao Zhan, Wang Yibo, and a host of others. I can’t write the name of the entire cast, even though I want to.
PS: In case you don’t know, the man with the pretty smile is Xiao Zhan.
Word Count: 2,827
Genre: Angst, fluff
Warnings: Talk of past abuse, blood, (past) suicidal thoughts, alcohol, bullying, swearing, violence, I apologize if  I’m missing anything
Pairing: OT7 x Reader
Summary: The members didn’t think they could be any more content than they were at the moment. They were getting to become known worldwide and have inspired a significant amount of other hybrids to follow their aspirations. However, when Y/n strolled into the room, they realized they could turn out to be quite a lot more satisfied.
If you’d like to be tagged, comment below <3
Chapter Five
You led the way to your apartment, the boys following you close behind. You could tell they were excited to see your place just by their excited chatter. It was a short walk back to your apartment and it was filled with jokes and laughter. Taking out your key, you hesitated before opening your front door. The seven hybrids stood behind you and anxiously shifted as their noses picked up multiple scents. The three strongest being you, Yuna, and Hyuk. When your boyfriend's scent hit their noses, they growled low in their chests. You looked at them confusedly, not being able to pick up on what was aggravating them.
"Is everything okay?" you quietly asked them as you walked inside, they followed you in, Yoongi closing the door gently behind him. Hoseok gave you a bright smile, talking loudly to try and cover up the continuing growls, "Yeah, we're all fine. You have a lovely place!" You returned his smile and chuckled, "I haven't even given you a tour yet, but thank you." It seemed as though the idea of a tour made them calm down and forget their anger. Swaying from side to side, you awkwardly looked at each of them, "So, uh, would you guys like that tour..?" The three youngest all nodded, their tails wagging, grins overtaking their faces.
“Obviously this is the living room, then if you go through this door we’ll be in the kitchen,” you moved your arms around awkwardly, allowing them to look around. Walking out of the kitchen, you led them down the hallway, “The door on the left is the bathroom, and this here, is my bedroom.”
They trailed behind you, eagerly looking around the small bedroom. On the walls, there were pictures of you and your friends. The bed was in the middle, with a side table on each side. There was a tidy desk against the wall, lots of nick knacks on it. Unbeknownst to you, they were all scenting the room, trying to get rid of his scent. Even though you wouldn’t be able to tell, it still made them feel more comfortable knowing there wouldn’t be a trace of him anymore.
“Why don’t we go into the living room and watch some TV?” you asked them, already on your way out of the bedroom door. Settling on the couches, you turned on the TV to a random channel, knowing no one was really going to be paying attention. As you suspected, they all started up different conversations. They all looked like they were at home, and the thought made you feel peaceful.
You took this time to actually look at them, to study them. Looking at Jungkook as he messed around with Taehyung and Jimin, you watch as a smile, kind of resembling a bunny, graced his face, his nose twitching. Jimin stole your attention with his giggles, his eyes scrunching up. If it weren't for the cat ears and tail, you'd say he was a dog hybrid by how energetic he was. Switching your gaze to Taehyung, you watched as his tail starts wagging fast, bouncing up and down on the couch. "What kind of music do you like to listen to Y/n-ah?" Jin's voice shook you out of your silent thoughts. You fixed your gaze on the four men sat on the couch across from you, “Uhh, I like all types really. My favorite is pop and hip hop though. It's really fun to dance to." They all nodded, but Hoseok looked to be the happiest. "You like to dance?!" he questioned, a heart shape smile on his face. You gave out a genuine laugh and shook your head, "More so for fun, nothing serious," you tilted your head and add on, "actually, I'm really bad at dancing." "I'm sure you're better than Namjoon Hyung," Hoseok reassured you, teasing Namjoon as well, earning him an offended 'Yah!' Hoseok just laughed, getting up and going over to where the three Maknaes were now looking at your gaming system. "Y/n-ah, can we play some games?" Taehyung asked you as all three of them pouted at you, and you couldn't say no to them, "Sure! Just be careful with it." They all whooped and hollered, turning it on and picking out a game.
Turning away from them, you saw Jin and Namjoon whispering to each other. Not wanting to intrude on their privacy, you looked around the room. Your eyes met with Yoongi's, his eyes holding some sadness and guilt, so you motioned for him to follow you into the kitchen. Standing up from his seat, he grabbed your outstretched hand, holding it tightly and allowing you to tug him along. Sitting down at the table, you kept your hold on his hand. "Yoongi, are you okay?" you asked him, voice gentle and calming. He stared at you, not wanting to seem weak and vulnerable in front of you, but you could see right through him, "You can tell me, I won't judge you Yoongi-ah." He took a deep breath and put his head down, hiding his face from you, "I...I feel like it's my fault that you didn't want to be friends with us," he paused for a minute, trying not to cry. Once he was sure he wouldn't start sobbing, he looked up, tears in his eyes, "I didn't mean to scare you when we met. I just, I just don't like when people touch my ears bec-" "Hey, hey, hey. you don't need to tell me why Yoongi. I understand," you softly stated, not wanting him to feel like he had to tell you.
He sniffled and shook his head, "No, I want to tell you. Growing up, I was never in a good place. My parents died when I was six. From then until I was seventeen I kept going from one home to another. Not all of them were kind to the hybrids though..." Yoongi's eyes glazed over, thinking of all the terrible things he had to go through, one in particular....
Flashback
He was only twelve at the time and staying a run down foster home. He should have been outside, playing with all the other kids, but he wasn't normal like them. No, he was a hybrid, a black panther more specifically. Everyone thought he was dangerous, didn't want to get too close to him in case he tried to hurt them. Even all the other hybrids were terrified of him. So it was a shock when he was approached by four hybrids. A monkey hybrid named Jung-woo, a bear hybrid named Chul, a German shepherd hybrid named Dae-hyun, and lastly a pit-bull hybrid named Hee-joon. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the sad and pathetic, excuse of a hybrid," Chul spat at him, causing Yoongi to flinch, shrinking in on himself. Seeing him ignore them angered Dae-hyun, "Yah! Look at us when we're talking to you!" Not wanting to create any trouble, Yoongi continued to ignore them, keeping his eyes downcast. It was when Jung-woo pushed him off of the bed that he finally looked up at the bullies. He kept his face blank, getting up off the floor, going to sit back down in his original seat. Before he could do so, Hee-joon pushed him towards Chul. Yoongi stumbled into him and before he could find his balance, Chul pushed him towards Dae-hyun. This continued on for a few minutes, all the while the bullies were laughing at Yoongi. They finally let Yoongi fall to the floor, not once stopping their laughter. Only when Yoongi jumped up, with tears cascading down his cheeks and a sneer transfixed on his face, that they quieted down. They'd never seen the panther hybrid look so enraged. He was always on the quieter side, never making a sound, hiding himself away in his room, away from everyone else, but it seemed as though he had finally met his breaking point.   It was silent, the only noises in the room being Yoongi’s heavy panting. His tail swayed angrily in the air, his hackles raised. He slowly stalked towards three cowering hybrids, threatening growls leaving his lips. "Awh you think you're so big and bad don't you..kitty?" Jung-woo, who seemed to be the only one not scared, taunted Yoongi. Although, that all changed when Yoongi lunged at him, pinning him down to the floor. Yoongi started throwing punches, wanting to hurt Jung-woo as much as he had him. The other hybrids in the room started to scream. Dae-hyun ran to get one of the foster parents, while Chul and Hee-joon tried to pull him off of Jung-woo. Despite all their attempts, they couldn't get him off, only getting bruises and scratches of their own. It was as if Yoongi was being possessed. Yoongi didn't even notice he was being pulled off of the battered Jung-woo, just kept swinging and kicking the air. "Enough!!" their foster mom, Nari, shouted while carrying Yoongi down the stairs and to the basement. He finally calmed down, and once he realized where she was taking him, he started to shake and cry. When they got down there, she put him in the middle of the room before undressing him down to his boxers. He kept repeating 'no, no, no' and tried to run back up to the main floor, but had no luck as it was locked. Their "father" figure, if you could even call him that, walked towards the young hybrid slowly, a belt in one hand and a bottle of soju in the other. Yoongi whimpered and curled in on himself, wishing he could just disappear. He knew what was coming. Every hybrid and human who misbehaved in any way was brought down here to be taught their lesson. He's been brought down here countless times, even has the scars to prove it. He was quiet and only flinched for the first few hits of the belt, biting his bottom lip, used to the pain. It was after he had been hit for five minutes straight that he finally made a sound. He whined and cried, trying to back away from the harsh belt. The man abusing him got tired of just using the belt, so he downed the rest of his soju, breaking the bottle over Yoongi's head and then proceeded to cut his legs. Yoongi screamed, giving up on trying to be strong. Blood gushing from the cut on his forehead, and he started to feel lightheaded. "Shut the fuck up!!" the man yelled when Yoongi started screaming for his mom. He left the hybrid on the floor to walk over to the table holding all of his "toys." Grabbing the duct tape and rope, he returned to Yoongi, duct taping his mouth and tying his hands behind his back. The room was sound proofed, but his screams were starting to annoy him. He leaned down and menacingly said, "Hope you're ready for a long night cat." And all Yoongi could do was endure the hits. Two hours into his punishment, Yoongi's eyes slipped closed as he lost consciousness, wishing he wouldn't wake up he next day.
End flashback
"And that's why I don't like when people touch me without asking," Yoongi sobbed uncontrollably, and you pulled him into your arms, tears of your own falling down your cheeks. "Oh Yoongi, I'm so sorry! I didn't know. You didn't deserve to go through that," your voice wavered, pulling him tighter into your chest. The guys had all walked in halfway through Yoongi's explanation, their noses picking up on the change in your hormones and smelling the salty tears. Glancing at them, you saw them crying, looking like they wanted to comfort their brother. Once you gave them the go ahead, they all rushed over and brought the two of you into a big group hug. Eventually everyone pulled away, and you cradled Yoongi's face in between your tiny hands, "Yoongs, I want you to know that I'm here for you, and I'd do anything to go back in time and to make sure you didn't have to go through that." He gave you a gummy grin, wrapping his tail around your wrist. You decided right then and there, that you like seeing him with a smile, and you'd do anything for it to stay.
Tumblr media
"Jimmie stop!" you giggled, trying to escape the calico hybrid who was torturing you with his tickles. Hearing the front door unlock and open caused you to freeze in your spot. You tried to push Jimin off of you, but he wouldn't budge, too busy trying to hear more of your laughter. The others, who had also heard what you heard, tried to help you get Jimin off, "Jimin-ah! Get off her!" Before you guys could fully get him off of you, a throat clearing was heard. Everyone froze in their spots and slowly turned their heads. Letting out a breath of relief, you relaxed your tense muscles. It was only Jisoo, your best friend and coworker. "Well, well, well. what do we have here? Am I interrupting something? I can go..." Jisoo trailed off and smirked as she saw Jimin was still sitting on you. You quickly sat up, shoving Jimin off in the process, "No! Nothings happening! He was just trying to tickle me and you know how much I hate being tickled!" "Y/n, calm down. I was just joking, but didn't Hyuk tell you to get rid of any contact with them?" Jisoo asked you curiously. You could hear the confusion in Jisoo's voice and before you could answer her, Jungkook beat you to it, "Wait. So you do want to be friends with us! It was just your asshole of a boyfriend who made you text us that!" He was growling by the time he finished his sentence. You opened your mouth, about ready to defend your boyfriend, but Jungkook continued on, "See this is why you shouldn't be with him. He's already controlling who you're friends with. Next thing you know he's controlling everything you do!" It seemed as though his growls would never cease and it would be a lie if you said you weren't slightly scared. It was Yoongi who calmed him down, seeing you flinch away from the younger hybrid, "Jungkook-ah that's enough. You're scaring her." The thought of causing you any pain or fear broke Jungkook’s heart.
"I-I didn't mean to scare you Y/n-ah!" Jungkook tried to get closer to you but whimpered when you, once again, flinched away from him. Not wanting him to feel guilty, you frantically tried to make things right, "No! it's fine Kookie. I'm just not a big fan on the growling is all.." you trailed off, not knowing what else to say. There was an awkward silence before Jisoo broke it, "So, uh, I stopped by to see if you were still coming with Minho and I to dinner on Wednesday night?" "Yeah, Hyuk and I will be there!" you answered her, shifting from one foot to the other. Seokjin looked towards your friend, and politely said, "There's this really nice restaurant over by the movie theater. It's brand new too." Namjoon, having picked up on what his fellow band mate was planning, also spoke up, "You guys should check it out, I heard it's really nice." "Actually that's not a bad idea!" Jisoo exclaimed. She then turned towards you and gave you a smile before continuing, "I'll make reservations and meet you guys there. Bye Y/n! Tell Hyuk I said hello when he gets back!" Before you could utter a response, she left your apartment, leaving you with the bts members. You opened and closed your mouth, before stuttering out a sentence, "Um, uh, I think you guys should leave. It's getting pretty late and I have to work early tomorrow." Nodding and humming their agreements, they each gave you a kiss on the cheek, no doubt making you turn a bright red, and made their way to your front door. After waving them a goodbye, you shut and locked your door. You leaned your back on it and took a few deep breaths, trying to clear your mind and calm your racing heart down. So much has happened in the last few days. First, Hyuk gets in a fight with Jungkook. Second, you get in a fight with your boyfriend, resulting in you trying to push away the seven hybrids. Third, you become friends with said hybrids again. Standing up straight, you gave a deep sigh and made your way to your bathroom. A nice, long, relaxing bubble bath should help you rid yourself of all this stress. You had no clue what you were gonna do when Hyuk came back though. You knew he would be furious if he found out you had not only invited, but also made up with the bts guys. What to do... what to do…
True Beauty - Episode 6
Tumblr media
So it’s a little late and I am a little tired, but I figured I could treat myself with another episode after doing some really boring homework. I must I’m quite proud of myself for being on top of game. But it’s just been one day since school started so... yeah... let’s not get too happy too soon.
Jugyeong does her best to comfort Suho and he now knows she remembered that day too. Right then, the fire alarm is ringing and people are coming to the rooftop because there’s a fire. But... WHY THE ROOFTOP? If there’s a fire you should get out and away of the building, not going higher up, if the building collapses because of the fire, you’re dead. Anyways, it’s a false alarm, everyone goes back down and Suho keeps protecting Jugyeong cause people are pushing pretty bad. Then they go their own way, because Jugyeong still thinks of what he said earlier. It’s so pitiful. It’s obvious that he didn’t mean that. And not just because Eun Woo isn’t exactly the best actor.
Jugyeong is not the only one thinking back on that. Seojun is also thinking about it. I guess he feels bad.
On his way home, Suho bumps into his father. The father is so greasy btw. Like, I’m glad my father isn’t anything close to that. Anyways, big star father wants to attend the teacher conference. Suho tells him not to, because he doesn’t want to be known as his son. And he just leaves. The hate is there.
Next day at school, students get their grades and Jugyeong’s are... pretty bad. But her mom and her homeroom teacher still manage to get out in peace. When Jugyeong comes, mom is ready to snap, but controls herself. And she forgets it all when Suho’s dad appears. And then she yells “I’ll buy you with money!” Probably a quote from his movie. Then she asks for an autograph and many women also asks for it. He signs on Jugyeong’s report. Which is so funny. Because, it’s such a bad report suddenly becoming precious xD In the cafeteria, a classmate asks Suho for an autograph for his mom, since she’s a fan of his dad. Suho leaves, probably angry because he didn’t want people to know who is his father. Since he dislikes him so much. Seems like Seojun dislikes him very much too. Which would make sense since he’s the CEO of the company in which was Seyeon.
While Jugyeong is looking for her mother, she happens to witness Suho confronting his father. But then the mom comes over, fangirling over the dad. So awkward. Suho leaves when his dad starts talking to Jugyeong and her mom asks for a picture too... Oh boy. But then again. You’ve not seen me sitting far away on the balcony of the One Great Step Tour, almost dying to see Dongwoo on the screen. I hope I would faint and be too shy to ever be like the mom, but eh. You never know. I could do that. But I did “meet” celebrities at work and I treated them like any other customer. So maybe I’m immune. Who knows haha.
So Suho’s dad kicked Seyeon out of the company. And didn’t feel bad at all about it. No wonder Seojun hates him.
Jugyeong’s mom is throwing away all of her make up to punish her for having bad grades. Meanwhile, Soo Jin gets scolded hard by her dad because she only got second place. I guess they want to picture her as OCD, since she always washes her hand like crazy? I’m not so sure, because they kind of changed the character from the webtoon.
Gowoon treats Jugyeong to thank her for her help and asks her to teach her make up. So they go over to her place. Seojun is there and didn’t know that he wasn’t alone, so he’s doing his thing, half naked haha. The look on his face when he sees Jugyeong. Then he keeps moving, pretending like there’s nothing until he’s out of site xD That was a funny one. She rawrs him when he thanks her for helping Gowoon. He wanted to walk her home.
Suho goes to the comic shop, probably looking for Jugyeong, but she’s obviously not there. But then, her mom comes in and as soon as she see Suho she’s all honey-dewy. So when Jugyeong gets home, Suho is over. Oooops. He’s been invited over for dinner. So the mom asks for the big table and her brother takes Suho to get it. He warns him not to mess with his sister. He can be a decent brother, sometimes. When they are about to install the table, Suho breaks one of the legs. Jugyeong and her brother fight as always, and as if things couldn’t any more embarrassing, Hee Gyeong comes back home completely drunk, again. She causes a power outage while tripping on an electric wire and the embarrassment is infinite.
The next, big sis is taking lil sis to the sauna. Bad timing, Seojun is there with a friend too. So she escapes and her sister makes her go buy hamburgers. Then, she bumps into her bullies from back then and runs away, leaving her waller behind. When she’s about to go get it back, Suho takes it away from those nasty girls, which startles her and makes her angry too. She didn’t want his help since he said it’s bothersome. Poor baby girl. He hides her too from Seojun’s friend and lends her his cap. He hugged her also. That was adoraaaable <3
When big sis comes back home, she sees the teacher getting tattooed eyebrows from her mother. Poor teacher. He tries to run away, still with plastic wrap on his face. She chases him to give him an umbrella, which they end up sharing. And then she kisses him. They’re cute.
Jugyeong gets “kidnapped” by some thugs that are acquaintances of Seojun. They’re using her as a bait. He gets their phone call after confronting Suho who pulled some strings to help Seojun’s mother surgery. Jugyeong manages to videocall her friends secretly so they would see she has been taken away on her way to the academy. Suho and Seojun also both rushed in to save Jugyeong. Suho is the one to find her and he charges in to save her. Why not call the police in the first place... guys be guys. Seojun joins the fight. And even Jugyeong attacks with a tambourine haha. The friends also come over and join the fight hahaha. Nobody thought calling the police would be a good idea. Or maybe in Korea they wouldn’t do anything about it? I don’t know. Well, they’re still kids. Seojun definitely caught feelings for Jugyeong, but she only has eyes for Suho. Poor baby. Even though he has been kind of a jerk so far.
And that’s enough for tonight. Sometimes, a drama doesn’t need to be that good. This is just enough for me to enjoy and I am thankful for it. Good night!
