Entre Orfeo y Don Quijote

La editorial madrileña Fórcola publica una recopilación de artículos y ensayos operísticos de Jacobo Cortines

Su dedicación a la música no pasó del amateurismo (“cuando fui capaz de tocar al piano una fuga de Bach a cuatro voces, lo dejé”, me comentó un día), pero todo el mundo conoce el amor que Jacobo Cortines siente por la música y, muy específicamente, por la ópera, un amor que ha reflejado (¡no podía ser de otro modo!) en escritos para programas de mano de teatros y festivales y para revistas especializadas de diverso tipo (actualmente, y desde hace mucho, es el crítico de ópera de Scherzo para Sevilla). Pues bien: Fórcola ha recopilado en este libro –tan bien editado como todos los que hace Javier Jiménez–, un conjunto de 35 artículos y ensayos del autor sevillano sobre ópera. Aunque hay algún inédito salido de sus notas y diarios privados, la gran mayoría eran piezas ya publicadas, en concreto entre 1992 y 2022.

De la Camerata Bardi y los albores del género, en torno a figuras cruciales como Monteverdi, Peri o Cavalli, hasta Stravinski, la Lulú de Alban Berg y El retablo de maese Pedro de Manuel de Falla –que figura como coda–, Cortines penetra la fibra misma del arte lírico, y lo hace desde la posición que uno podría esperarse, la del poeta y el filólogo. Quiere esto decir que sus ensayos atienden a los temas literarios de las óperas, buscan la filiación de sus personajes, profundizan en su trasunto histórico (a menudo, mítico o mitificado), analizan sus perfiles psicológicos, y todo ello partiendo de la documentación del erudito y la prosa del literato. No significa esto que no se trate de la música de las obras estudiadas, pero sí conviene advertir que no es la partitura el objeto principal sobre el que se vuelca el autor, sino el tema, el libreto y la dramaturgia.

Los enfoques son de cualquier forma variados. En algunos casos se sigue a los personajes por la historia de su codificación mítica o literaria (por ejemplo, Orfeo, Don Juan, Cenicienta...); en otros se mira en el taller del compositor y del poeta y se estudian sus motivaciones, sus relaciones, sus conflictos, lo que es muy claro en los casos de Monteverdi-Busenello, Mozart-Da Ponte o Auden-Stravinski, pero también en las vicisitudes de Rossini o Donizetti con sus libretistas.

Los ensayos y artículos (hay también alguna breve columna suelta) están ordenados siguiendo la cronología de los títulos estudiados, presentados pues como si fueran comentarios o glosas a una historia de la ópera, pero privando en todo ello los intereses del autor, es decir, sobre todo la ópera italiana, con especial atención a determinados períodos y compositores: los orígenes, Mozart, el belcanto y Verdi (así, Haendel, Wagner, Strauss o Janáček, por citar sólo algunos grandes nombres del género, están ausentes). Dado que en la mayor parte de los casos se trata de encargos, parece evidente que Cortines ha sabido vincular sus trabajos con sus afinidades, pudiendo así emplear con absoluta propiedad las herramientas que le son propias, que parten de un conocimiento amplísimo de la tradición literaria clásica (Petrarca, del que ha sido insigne traductor, se pasea continuamente por los tiempos del primer Barroco) y de un interés evidente por profundizar en algunos mitos, muchos de ellos vinculados a la ciudad de Sevilla.

Este interés cercano hacia las obras comentadas hace que la pasión se filtre por muchas de estas páginas, aunque ello no nubla nunca ni la pertinencia del análisis ni el equilibrio del juicio, lo que es en verdad admirable. Dicho de otro modo: Cortines no puede evitar traslucir su auténtica admiración por Mozart o Rossini, pero ni en el verbo ni en el concepto podrá reprochársele un tratamiento hagiográfico de su trayectoria vital y artística.

Muchos de estos textos han servido como notas a producciones vistas en el Maestranza, así que los buenos aficionados sevillanos ya los conocerán. No importa: reunidos potencian su valor.

K-pop girl group NMIXX will be featured in the K-pop Goes Latin with NMIXX panel, Billboard’s first-ever K-pop x Latin music conversation on Wednesday, October 16 to talk about how K-pop has exploded in the Latin market, and its future en español.

El pasado mes de febrero, la organización pidió amparo a Estrasburgo tras la última sentencia del Tribunal Supremo, que otorga competencias judiciales al Ayuntamiento de Carboneras (Almería) Es la primera vez que el Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos admite una demanda presentada por Greenpeace España El hotel ilegal, de 21 plantas, situado en zona protegida del Parque Natural Cabo de Gata-Níjar y a solo 14 metros del mar, acumula 50 pronunciamientos judiciales en las últimas dos décadas Tras recorrer todas las instancias judiciales en los tribunales españoles durante dos décadas, las irregularidades del caso del hotel de El Algarrobico, en la provincia de Almería, serán investigadas por el Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos (TEDH), con sede en Estrasburgo. “Es una importante noticia que el Tribunal Europeo de Derechos Humanos haya admitido nuestra denuncia. Esperamos que, de una vez por todas, se ponga fin a esta historia repleta de sentencias incumplidas y retrasos injustificables por parte de las administraciones”, explica José Ignacio Domínguez, abogado de Greenpeace. Greenpeace solicitó amparo al TEDH tras la sentencia del Tribunal Supremo (1) que, en diciembre de 2022, dictaminó que el hotel almeriense no podía ser demolido, por tener licencia de obras. El alto tribunal dictaminó que si el Ayuntamiento de Carboneras (Almería) no cumplía la sentencia que le obliga a calificar los terrenos como protegidos, estos pasaban a ser urbanizables, hasta que el propio Consistorio decidiera cumplir el veredicto y modificar sus normas urbanísticas. El TEDH ha concluido que debe investigarse la legalidad de esta decisión. Es un principio fundamental, en todo Estado de Derecho, que las sentencias firmes que anulan una disposición de carácter general, como es el Plan General de Ordenación Urbana (PGOU) de Carboneras, tienen efecto desde el día en que se publica el fallo. Pero en este caso, el Supremo, incomprensiblemente, otorgó las competencias judiciales al Ayuntamiento de Carboneras, un hecho muy grave e inédito que podría suponer una violación del artículo 6.1 del Convenio de Derechos Humanos, ya que priva a la ciudadanía del derecho a tener un juez independiente y una tutela judicial efectiva. El TEDH también investigará si debe revocarse el nombramiento, como ponente de la magistrada del Tribunal Supremo de la Junta de Andalucía (TSJA), de María del Mar Jiménez Morera. Greenpeace considera que no puede ser imparcial ya que, junto a Jorge Muñoz Cortés, dictaron sentencia declarando urbanizable el hotel de El Algarrobico (2) en 2014, dando la razón a la promotora del hotel, Azata Patrimonio S.L. Precisamente, Muñoz Cortés ha estado prestando sus servicios para el Ayuntamiento de Carboneras desde el despacho Martínez-Echeverría. La magistrada Jiménez Morera, su antigua compañera de Sala en el TSJA, es quien resuelve los escritos sobre la ilegalidad del hotel de El Algarrobico. El TEDH debe decidir ahora sobre la imparcialidad de la magistrada. Un símbolo del maltrato al litoral español El hotel ilegal comenzó a construirse en 2003, tras conseguir una licencia de obras, a pesar de estar en zona protegida tanto por las normas del parque natural como por la Ley de Costas. Las primeras actuaciones judiciales contra el edificio, de 411 habitaciones, comenzaron en 2005, cuando Greenpeace, Ecologistas en Acción y Salvemos Mojácar denunciaron estas irregularidades. A comienzos de 2006 se logró la paralización cautelar de las obras y, desde entonces, el periplo judicial ha sido interminable. GURROLA, NUEVO LÍDER EN BAMBINAZOS EN LIGA ESTATAL CHIHUAHUA

Ciudad Juárez, Chih., miércoles 10 de julio de 2024.-Gracias a los cuatro jonrones que conectó en la jornada siete contra los Manzaneros de Cuauhtémoc, Yahir Gurrola, jardinero derecho de Indios de Ciudad Juárez, ha tomado por asalto el liderato en este departamento en la Liga Estatal Chihuahua con siete batazos con los que ha puesto la pelota detrás de la barda

Gurrola Rivera, el pelotero indígena del momento y el Indio de la Semana con el madero, desbancó ya a José Castro, de los Venados de Madera, quien se ha quedado con cinco, misma cantidad que ahora tiene Yousamot Cota, de los Manzaneros.

En el listado de vuelacercas aparecen también en el sitio seis y siete, los aborígenes Eudor García y Kevin Zamudio, cada uno con cuatro tablazos de vuelta entera.

Yahir, quien en la semana siete bateó para .467 milésimas y produjo cinco anotaciones, subió su porcentaje a .325 en la presente justa, llegó a 25 carreras remolcadas, es sublíder en este rubro y le pisa los talones a Aarón Sillas, de los Algodoneros de Delicias, quien puntea con 28.

Zamudio Ide es el sexto mejor productor en el circuito con 18, seguido en el séptimo puesto por su coequipero García Pacheco, quien suma 17.

Gurrola igualmente está dentro de los diez mejores bateadores en hits totales con 27 por seis de José Villa (33), de los Manzaneros de Cuauhtémoc, el jugador que más imparables ha conectado en la presente campaña.

Otro rubro en el que aparece el trío indígena es en el de slugging que comanda Ulises Villa, de los Rojos de Jiménez con .782, Eudor es tercero con .635, Yahir ocupa el cuarto escalón con .614 y Zamudio, el décimo con .551.

Eudor ‘El Destructor’ es el segundo mejor en la liga en porcentaje en base (OBP) con .533 por .569 de Villa, de los Rojos de Jiménez y, en el Average con Corredor en Posición de Anotar (BA/RSP) está en la quinta posición con .438 por .545 del líder Mario Cabrera, de los Dorados de Chihuahua.

Dentro de las carreras anotadas, ‘Euthor’ ocupa el tercer escaño con 20, Gurrola el quinto con 19 y el mexicoamericano Giancarlo Servín, el noveno con 17 en el grupo que lidera Luis Quintana, de los Mineros de Parral, con 21.

Ubicado en el octavo puesto en bateo colectivo en el circuito con .270 milésimas, Indios tiene en Servín y en Francisco Javier Encinas a dos peloteros metidos entre los máximos bateadores de hits sencillos con 22 y 21 cada uno, por 23 de Daniel García y Jorge Morales, ambos jugadores de la escuadra de Cuauhtémoc.

Giancarlo continúa como líder en triples con dos, ahora compartido con J. Villa, de los Manzaneros y García tiene un inatrapable de tres estaciones.

En dobles, Zamudio Ide llegó a la media docena y está a tres de distancia del cuauhtemense Villa, quien tiene nueve.

Acerca del pitcheo que contra Manzaneros y Venados no lució bien, especialmente el abridor, renglón en el cual, Ciudad Juárez es octavo en la liga con una efectividad de 3.98, el zurdo Vidal Sotelo es décimo en carreras limpias admitidas con 3.96 por 1.98 del ex indígena Paul Rubio, de los Faraones de Nuevo Casas Grandes.

Sotelo Rivera también figura en el décimo sitio en ponches con 35 por 66 de Samuel Zazueta, de los Venados de Madera.

En juegos ganados, Ledezma está en el noveno lugar con un par de victorias por seis de José Alberto Gutiérrez, de los Algodoneros de Delicias, el pitcher más triunfador en el torneo hasta ahora.

Darío Gardea continúa en el selecto grupo de salvamentos con tres por cinco de Axel Muñoz y Rogelio García, brazos de Manzaneros y Faraones.
