I very nearly fell off my chair laughing when I had a look at your "long reblog with actual cases" and you mentioned only three cases. Now let's tear down your false narrative, shall we? Let's have a look at how minorities are facing atrocities by this Hindutva extremists:

Hate Offender Swami Jitendranand calls for lynching of pregnant women
This is barely scratching the surface of all the news (this entire list of 40 or so cases is hardly within the last two years... there are hundreds of such cases) I hear on an almost daily basis about the activities of Hindutva goons and elected BJP leaders, either threatening or lynching or making hate speeches against Muslims.
And if you want to talk about the dictatorial efforts of the current government, look no further than the weaponization of the Enforcement Directorate and CBI, the threats against twitter and banning of documentaries critical of the current government, the suspension of MPs and MLAs, internet shutdowns and media suppression, the deliberate inaction of police against people accused of crimes and hate speeches against minorities (which even the SC has rapped), the filing of anti terrorism cases and arrest and abuse of people over minor cases or even mere criticism, the usage of governers to block the functioning of the state assembly bills, the clashes with SC, usage of ordinances to override state rights, the democratic backsliding, human right violations and communal violence that has been condemned internationally by human rights groups, the threats against the SC judges by cabinet ministers, the Pegasus case etc.
And shamefully enough, the way this government has been using the full state machinery to promote and propagandize the inaugaration of a temple, even going to the extent of declaring a national holiday for government employees just goes to show how far they will go to trample on the foundational values as highlighted in the constitution.
Despite knowing all of these, if you still support the current government, BJP and its actions, its obvious you are a Hindu supremacist bootlicker going against all the foundational constitutional values of this nation and would rather see this country devolve into a Hindu supremacist North Korea and treat minorities as second class citizens.
Seeing the shit people say about Jews in the wake of the Israel-Palestine conflict when you’re Hindu is really just coming to the realisation that:

Why India’s Social Milieu Needs An Urgent Contemplation
India, traditionally, has been offering astounding variety in virtually every aspect of social life - diversities of ethnic, linguistic, regional, economic, religious, class, and caste groups crosscut Indian society, which gives light to its very inclusive, secular and democratic character. But why there has been a social unrest lately?
Tumblr media
India ranks 144th on the World Happiness Index out of a total 156 countries on the list, even behind the likes of Pakistan, ranked 66th, and Bangladesh, ranked 107th.
17th June, 2019, a 24-year old man called Tabrez Ansari was mob-lynched in Jharkhand. He was tied to a pole sometime around midnight, and was beaten brutally till 6 in the morning, and was also forced to chant Hindu sayings. As usual, police arrived late, Tabrez was taken to the hospital, where even his blood pressure was not recorded. He died four days later.
Kashmiri Pandits were victims to a similar unfortunate happening. They were forced to exodus from their own home, and ever since, Kashmir has been even more of a hot topic.
It was a similar mob which chased and killed Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh in December, 2018 in Bulandshahr. He was trying to control a mob that had gone on the rampage after cow carcasses were discovered nearby the locality. The same mob also raised slogans against the police during the unfortunate happening.
Back then, between 2015-2018 specifically, such things were done in the name of cows, an animal which holds a religious significance in Hindu mythology. Considerable amount of such happenings on the name of cow slaughtering frequently grabbed news headlines back then, and as a consequence, consumption of beef in India saw some low. When reports of cow being starved to death in official government shelters started coming in, and also about that stray cattle were destroying crops and farmers were not very pleased with it, politics abandoned cows. It is obvious that cows, along with other animals, need to be protected, also given the fact that dairy products are a must, there needs more to be done to protect and nurse them. But the project of fear and violence that had been started, still continues in various forms.
But, unfortunately, cases of mob-lynchings still take place in our beloved India. The very recent case of Palghar district in Maharashtra, where two Hindu saints, while being in police custody and being taken to Gujarat, were attacked by locals. Reports suggest that the rumors were spread in the area about a gang which abducts children, and on the suspicion of the same, the saints were beaten to death, while the act of police standing quietly beside raised many questions.
A particular section of society, including sections of media, left no stone unturned to give it a communal angle. And there is no denying that there are communal and casteist angles to most of such cases, but there is a larger angle to it. The fact that somehow normal and a routine act it has become to lynch anyone you disagree with, who is outnumbered, is a thing which we need to question. What message are we passing on to the youth? Aspiring to be a global superpower, what are we projecting ourselves as?
The Larger Picture
Tumblr media
Democracy has space for various views, expressing dissent in a dignified manner, solving issues, but no democracy can justify use of violence or any arbitrary means to deal with dissent. The very feeling of people that they too are ours should not be compromised at any cost.
The fact that the frequency of such acts has increased in last few years outlines that a message has been passed on to the society, especially the youth, that to beat up someone who does not agree with you, or who expresses any or some form of dissent is a normal practice. Of course, there also has to be some manner and dignity in which dissent should be expressed in a democratic society. But to suppress dissent brutally should not be a solution in a civil society.
This the reason why a new debate had acquired the headlines for some time about whether and how India has been growing intolerant rapidly, but the media and the viewers, the public, a large part of it, did not pay much attention to it. This was and is, what I believe, still a relevant question to ask and explore.
A considerable section of the youth has grasped that dissent or disagreement can be or has to be suppressed, even if it needs violence, which is more than worrisome. This is very much evident owing to recent JNU Campus Violence amongst students back in winter during anti-CAA protests. And the youth today, is the future tomorrow, which is why this makes it even more worrisome.
This even stops many from expressing their views, fearing that might get beaten up by the people having other views, and by not letting other ideas to be out there in the society, the prevailing ideas of the authorities are being hailed as champions. This is where we are failing as a democratic society. We have stopped or started to prevent asking questions.
A democratic society is always full of different ideas, views and perspectives, that is the beauty of democracy. A democratic society always cleaves up, if a one and only idea prevails in the society, there has to be something wrong, we are never going to realize what's wrong in such a scenario, and we have contemporary examples of such autocracies. And there were reasons why human, with time, switched from monarchy to democracy, he liked the idea of discussing various angles and coming up with one which could be best, as it will cover as many as loopholes, angles and point of views as possible, for the best of interests for every section of the society.
The Core Youth Issue
Tumblr media
India’s 65% population comprises of people aged 35 or below, making it potentially one of the youngest country in the world, but what’s fresh in them?
A child learns most of the civil and moral values at home, he learns what he sees, and tends to practice the same, this is the normal scenario. What he learns through the education system, along with his moral values, is somewhat an outline of what kind of a person one is, how one’s attitude is. And India’s education system has been questioned ever since.
The Indian government’s very own draft education policy tells us that National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) rates 68% of our Universities average or below average, and 91% of our colleges are rated average or below average. These second-and third-grade colleges would have produced generations of average or below average students and scholars.
Today’s youth of India has been in the making for decades. A great deal of efforts must have been put in to finish off all the curiosity and hunger for knowledge and information. The youth no longer wants to understand why a system made them spend lakhs of rupees studying, when at the end most of them could not find jobs which could even earn them Rs.20,000 per month, but still are repaying their education loans. It is the official data released back in 2018 that around 67% families in India survive with a monthly family income of Rs. 10,000 or below.
Those who demand information, who understand their world, those who question the status quo, are the ones who sustain democracies. Can we expect such democratic ideals from the youth of a country where 91% colleges and 68% Universities are average or below average? 65% of Indians might be under the age of 35, but there’s little sign of anything fresh in their thinking. Their minds are not young. They were first burdened with great ignorance, and now they’ve been blinded by communalism.
With 91% colleges being second and third rate, it was inevitable that the youth is kept away from the realm of knowledge. This must have had a large say on why WhatsApp University became so popular, the very messages people received on their private chats must have felt to them that they now had an access to knowledge, the very fact that it was so easily accessible, made it very impactful. Lies and misleading information designed to prejudice them and incite them to violence now began to reach their smartphones as personal texts.
Fear Of Speaking Out (FOMO FOSO)
Our Lok Sabha has passed amendments to Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act last year, that gives authorities the power to declare any individual a ‘terrorist’. After it was amended, many social workers who have worked for the under-privileged for years, and raised important issues which was not in the best of interests for the authorities, have been imprisoned under UAPA.
As an obvious consequence, many have held themselves back to not speak out on issues they would have spoken on otherwise, the fear of intolerance of some sections of the society which may turn ugly and the fear of trolls of social media of the great IT Cell may also have been the reasons for the same.
There was a very popular dissent outrage in the form of protests in the form of anti-CAA-NRC protests. Protests in cities and college campuses took place across the nation, some also turned ugly as violence broke out in certain protests. To counter anti-CAA-NRC protests, pro-CAA-NRC protests were also being held in various parts of the country, which was first of its kind. The national lockdown owing to the coronavirus pandemic has brought the topic to a stop, but during this lockdown, various student leaders of anti-CAA-NRC have been charged under UAPA.
Tumblr media
JP Narayan addressing a rally during JP movement in 1974. Many scholars speculate that the real Emergency started not in 1975, but in 1974.
In the history of independent India, its hard to remember any other popular mass protest where people across the nation came to roads to express dissent to the authorities, only one such example crosses our minds - the JP Narayan movement in 1974, during the time when Indira Gandhi used to be the PM of India, which mostly included students, and was ultimately suppressed after imposition of Emergency in 1975. But owing to a new practice we have accepted of labeling every sound that questions the authorities as anti-nationals or leftists.
India has had a history of patriarchy, which still prevails in many forms. Women in India, historically, have not been provided equal rights and recognition as men do. In such a nation, be it in the name of anti-CAA-NRC, such a large all-women protest of a scale as big as Shaheen Bagh is a very, very rare thing. Irrespective of our political affiances and interests, the fact that historically deprived women actually came out and led a mass protest on their own, which lasted for more than 3 months and has come to a haul owing to the pandemic, this certainly deserved some thoughts.
Motive of the protest, political interests and such stuffs can be and should be questioned, but in the process we should also give some recognition to things which are rare and important.
We all may share different political thoughts, different political affiliations, but at the end of the day, we all belong to one nation, and our ideas should be for the best of interests for our nation and its people as a whole.

Narendra Modi challenge Congress and allies to offer Indian citizenship to all Pakistanis
Addressing to the protest by Congress and other political parties in India against the Citizenship Amendment Act, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he challenges all the parties to give all the Pakistanis Indian Citizenship Act.
He also warned them to invalidate the law made for Triple Talaq and also for the amendment of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir.
Modi was addressing a huge crowd at the Bhognadih village in Sahebganj district as a part of his tenth and the last election meeting during the Jharkhand poll campaign when he gave the statement saying; “I dare Congress and all its allies to announce before the nation that they are ready to grant Indian citizenship to all the residents of Pakistan. Let them say that, and the country will teach them a lesson. If Congress has the guts, it should also announce that they will re-impose Article 370 in J&K and Ladakh. Himmat hai to bolo zara (If you have the guts,
say that). Modi has removed it (Article 370), I challenge you to announce before the nation that you have the courage to bring it back. You (Congress) are misleading the people!”
Modi further held the Congress and other parties for stoking unrest in the students against the Citizenship Amendment Act and said, “Stop using others as your shield to practice guerrilla politics. I want to tell Congress and its allies that they should stop playing with the destiny of the nation’s youth. Do not use the youth for your political gains. Do not ruin their future and the dreams of their parents.
Modi also reached out to the students protesting and said, “You should consider the importance of education at this crucial juncture of your lives.”

An august requiem for Father Stan Swamy
Tumblr media
The activist-priest faced charges in the Bhima Koregaon case for inciting caste violence. But something doesn’t quite add up
The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain neutrality,” said medieval thinker Dante Alighieri. He could well have been speaking about the present times where conscience is flaming out. As we all go about worrying about our own lives in the Corona era, a lot more is happening during the lockdown — detentions, lockups, undertrials succumbing to inordinate delays and common people’s eternal wait for justice.
This is as much about Father Stan Swamy as it is about us. Sometimes the breath and conscience are all there is between the living and dead. If it does not simmer, a person may be living yet dead. Sometimes an individual’s death allows us to ponder over how alive we are — socially, politically and morally.
Father Stanislaus Lourduswamy died on a hospital bed in Mumbai under incarceration, waiting for an interim bail that never came. He was admitted to a private hospital and put on ventilator after contracting COVID in the cramped Taloja jail. Finally, on July 6, post-COVID aftereffects, Parkinson’s and the system’s apathy got the better of him. An ailing octogenarian who had no criminal record or history of violence was denied bail despite several appeals. His death left the system on a metaphorical ventilator; gasping for air, clamouring for a bailout.
Father Stan was born in Tamil Nadu and had imbibed his liberal ideas in the Philippines. He chose to work for the welfare of tribals in Jharkhand. He was also a Jesuit priest, a Christian missionary working in tribal areas. These two descriptions are enough to make his credentials suspect. A “liberal activist” conveniently translates as “Maoist”. Christian missionary swaps well for a conversion enthusiast. One could wonder why it took him so long to earn the system’s ire. Was it his credentials or his work in tribal areas that did him in? It wasn’t. It was when he threw the spanner in the works by questioning Adani’s political juggernaut. He objected to the forceful acquisition of land for the Adani power plant in Godda at a throwaway price. The project got hasty environmental clearances from the Government in 2017. The landowners were never paid what was due to them. The project had enormous environmental costs as well. For clearing forests, gram sabha’s consent was never sought.
Father Stan was asking uncomfortable questions, making the powers-that-be nervous. He filed a PIL in 2017 against the detention of 72 prisoners in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district. Adivasi and Dalit youths were jailed under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). Their only crime was that they had protested the illegal acquisition of their land and forests. They stood against the corporations that had the State’s backing. Three years later, he was also booked under the UAPA in far-off Maharashtra.
The message was loud and clear: You do not mess with the system. If you do, the system will fix you, slowly but surely. He was one of the 16 accused in what is now known as the Bhima Koregaon case for inciting caste violence and plotting to assassinate the Prime Minister. He was arrested from his ashram in Ranchi and locked up in Taloja jail in October 2020. It is interesting to note how the system works. The 40-odd policemen arrested him within hours after the orders. Nevertheless, the trial for such a sensitive case is yet to start. Our system does work, though selectively!
A liberal by intellect and a God-fearing Christian by heart, the two opposites met in him and synthesised. Thanks to NIA, he holds the rare distinction of being the oldest person to be charged for terror activities. He was treated as a petty criminal without any entitlements and privileges that should have come with his age, if nothing else. He suffered from Parkinson’s and could not even sign or hold a cup to drink water. He fell down several times. It took just eight months to kill him.
The Bhima Koregaon case would take years to decide. The NIA and public prosecutors would indeed have evidence to prove he was involved. The judge would listen to the plea of both sides and decide. Of course, he would not consider reports that the laptop was hacked and injected with malware to plant evidence against Stan; more so if the newspaper happens to be Washington Post.
The judges are not supposed to work under media pressure or the Government, no matter how high-profile the case may be. Bail is not an undertrial’s right but a judge’s discretion, his call based on facts presented before him. That Father Stan could wage a war against the State from a hospital bed or destroy evidence with his trembling hands or could have jumped bail though he could not walk, these facts must have crossed the judge’s mind while declining his bail petition. He died 46 days later. In the film Jolly LLB, the judge quips: “Kanoon andha hota hai judge nahin, usey sab dikhta hai” (Law is blind, not the judge; he sees everything)”. Wish the judge had seen the truth through. He could have bailed out the judiciary!

Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the India’s Other Most Powerful People
In a yr when a virus locked down the nation and touched all points of its day by day life, it was the method of restoration and fightback that examined how the levers of energy moved. These among the many Opposition’s ranks holding on noticed their fortunes surge, particularly Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray in Maharashtra; Bhupesh Baghel in Chhattisgarh; Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi, Pinarayi Vijayan in Kerala, Hemant Soren in Jharkhand, and a brand new crop of farm leaders. For exactly the identical cause, the Gandhi household, the reluctant leaders of a dwindling Congress, are out of the highest 20, rating after their very own chief ministers.
The change within the energy stability is most acute in J&Ok, the place, handled a physique blow by the Centre, Mehbooba Mufti and Farooq Abdullah should combat to regain floor yet again.
If the rising Adani empire from airports to ports is mirrored in his stand up the checklist, essentially the most exceptional ascent, not surprisingly, is of Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Y C Modi — the heads respectively of the Enforcement Directorate and NIA, the 2 Central businesses now synonymous with the knock on the door, typically bypassing state governments and reinforcing a message of who’s in energy.

Nationalization Vs Privatization (Vis a Vis Socialism in India)
At first look, it seems both are antagonistic; where the first one is for the people, for the “country”, while the second one is for the capitalist class. Hence, Congress, during the Nehru era was pursuing socialism, and after neo-liberal policy, undertaken by Rahul Gandhi government, known as Manmohan Singh’s economic policy (He was the then Finance Minister), was pursuing capitalism. Neo-liberalism came with various masks, like globalization, perestroika, reform, cure of bureaucracy and ailments killing the public sectors, worker’s apathy with the work, loss of profit and unnecessary expenditure on welfare and subsidies.
Let us analyze the past, immediately after Indian independence, in fact even before that. The “smooth” handing over of power to Indians (and Pakistanis) was not to the working class, as envisaged by the HSRA, founded by Chandrasekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Ashfaqualla and others, and Communist Party of India. In fact, when the Indian Constitution was being made, there were four participating groups, one of them was represented by the Communist Party of India and who were forced to quit, when it was clear that the Constitution was to be in the service of the private property and was to safeguard the capitalist class (even the remaining feudal class). This was a tacit understanding between the British Raj and the bourgeois class and Congress Party, Muslim league, USA, and others who mattered.
Two examples must be studied to understand the characteristics of the Indian bourgeois class; first, how it dealt with the Telangana movement, which was against the British Raj as well as its accomplice Nizam and Feudal Lords and the Rajakars (Nizam’s Army), under the leadership of CPI, which fought very valiantly since 1945 to 1952 or 53, till the leadership abandoned its own cadre to favor Nehru/Patel’s government and signed the pact of peace treacherously, one sided, favoring the Indian State. The UNO had raised the Human Right’s question, where more than 2000 local women were raped, tortured and 1000s of fighters and their sympathizers were killed in fake encounters as well as in jails by the Army of GOI and Nizam, but somehow was quashed. After the peace pact followed and the Telangana Movement finished, the Nizam and his Army men were rehabilitated, in the most possible “honorable” fashion.
Similar was the Bombay Mutiny in 1946, which spread to Lahore, Bengal, Madras and was supported by the workers, peasants, youths, various Unions and organizations across the country. However, Congress, Muslim League officially and openly opposed the mutiny, advised their respective followers to remain away from the “law and order” problems, as they never wanted to share the power with the working class. CPI seems to have chickened out or failed to analyze the situation correctly.
However, after the independence was secured, despite all the bloodbath between the two new emerged nations, India and Pakistan, India preferred to follow industrialization and modernization of all the industries, services, and superstructure and new industries, factories. The Indian bourgeois class was unable to take over these concerns, enterprises, due lack of capital as well as technical knowhow and other much needed wherewithal.
Hence, the GOI had to intervene and build all the “Navratans”, superstructures and other parts of public concerns; Airlines and Airports, Shipping (Jahajrani, SCI), Power, ONGC, BSNL, Research works (DRDO, etc.), super specialty medical services, ISRO, ASI, Highways, Railways, and many others. 5 Year plan may sound like having borrowed from the USSR, but it was supported by Tata, and other big capitalists. USSR was happy in providing cheap technical knowhow as well as big machineries, like Thermal Plant in Patratu (Jharkhand), Defense equipment, with the help to build and repair facilities (BRD), etc., which was its foreign policy, to keep the imperialist powers away, as much as possible, in the new rising nations.
Was socialism being constructed in India? No, as the state power was in the hands of the bourgeois class and the working class, though much united than today and militant, was in back seat, “satisfied” with the “facilities and labor laws” in its favor. The situation gave a brilliant ideological framework to the CPI to support the ruling party, Congress, in name of building socialism, which of course was strengthening industrial as well as finance capital. The bureaucracy (red tapeism), corruption and other ailments penetrated into the public concerns in a natural fashion and “Socialism” was blamed. In the meantime, capitalist restoration in USSR gave “moral” support to the opportunist Communist Parties, the world over, to shun class struggle and followed Parliamentary Struggle, a path to build Socialism peacefully. An open class collaboration followed and these parties happily accepted opportunism and revisionism, the leadership which opposed these political lines, had to break away from the old parties, but in most cases that lead to “revisionism vs revisionism”, like CPI(M) or Left Wing adventurism, like Maoists (the earlier version, Naxalite movement did connect question of state power to the struggle, more appropriately class struggle, but that was the end of its break from the past revisionism and we know, finally this movement was crushed by the Indian State.).
Well, the nationalization, end of Privy system, etc. were accelerated during Indira Gandhi regime, and the “Left” was euphoric, Garibi Hatao (Remove poverty), inclusion of the word “Socialism” in the Constitution and other rhetoric were nothing but part of capitalist society and capitalist politics, the political economy, that was being followed, was nothing but steadily empowering capital and the concentration of wealth in hands of few was accelerating. The nationalization of 14 largest banks in India in 1969, when Indira Gandhi was PM (And even FM) did not work towards the upliftment of the poor. Compare with this:
The ownership of the capital wielded by and concentrated in the banks is certified by printed and written certificates called shares, bonds, bills, receipts, etc. Not a single one of these certificates would be invalidated or altered if the banks were nationalised, i.e., if all the banks were amalgamated into a single state bank. Whoever owned fifteen rubles on a savings account would continue to be the owner of fifteen rubles after the nationalisation of the banks; and whoever had fifteen million rubles would continue after the nationalisation of the banks to have fifteen million rubles in the form of shares, bonds, bills, commercial certificates and so on.”
(Lenin in 1917 on Bank’s Nationalisation)
The so called “Socialism” through nationalization never attacked the production field, where the means of production was in the hands of the capitalist class, and where the surplus value was created by the workers and usurped by the capitalist class. A small part of the surplus value (or rather through more exploitation of the workers) was used in circulation through welfare measures and subsidies. This allowed a small section of the working class to enjoy the bourgeoisie big heartedness towards its social duty, on the cost of the others. Today, the others, the workers in unorganized sectors are approximately 93%.
To jump a few decades, we see the “opening” of the economy, reforms, globalization, changes in labor laws, introduction of laws for land acquisition, dilution of environment acts, etc. followed in 1980s, accelerated in 1990s, so far all by the “Socialist” Congress government, in between (RSS) BJP Government, under Vajpayee and now Modi government. Modi government has much freedom to work due fascism, a social movement, where a section of the mass is supporting most of his anti-people economic and political policies, in hope of crushing the minorities and Dalits and building Hindu Rashtra and India becoming a World Leader.
The building up of the Indian property in many compartments, but mainly in government and in private hands, was all for the capital and its various forms, and now, when the world economy in plunging into economic crisis, even before Coronavirus Pandemic, and is almost in Economic Depression (Resembling 1928-31 economic recession), the capitalist class, with no love for the working class and the oppressed people, has thrown the country under the yoke of fascism, and is ruthlessly “re-appropriating” the created public funds and concerns! See the rate of privatization of almost all the public concerns, where they are in loss or are inefficient, is of no more a concern, all are to be privatized, as soon as possible!
There is bridge between the earlier “Socialist” construction, better say it resembled a welfare state (providing social security but, in reality, far from it) and now the capitalist “restoration” in India, but with a violent break, qualitative change, from a masked “democracy” and constitutional government to open fascism, where constitutional methods have been thrown into the dustbin. The world imperialism, IMF, WB, etc. have full support to the Indian bourgeois class and its tirade against the proletarian class, with a sizable pie in the plunder.
The nationalization in a capitalist society or country is for the capitalist class and not for the working class. The unemployment, poverty, inequality continues rising in both the bourgeois state, namely anti people state or pro people (Welfare state) state, but during the crisis, either political or economic or any other kind, the bourgeois state comes down heavily on the working class legally, illegally, socially (A section of the mass supports it, for some perks or for some regressive ideology), through police, military, bureaucracy, etc.
While we, the revolutionary forces, work with the proletarian class and its oppressed allies, we do join their struggle, protests, rallies, it is our task to educate them on political economy, telling them how such concessions, which they may bargain due balance of struggle in their favor, is temporary. These concessions are taken away, when the enemy class becomes the dominant bargainer, especially during the crisis and when the unity of the working class is weakened. Nationalization in any bourgeois society or state is not confiscation of the means of production, albeit taking over the management from the private hands by the state, after giving away the full compensation to the earlier owners. Yes, that dose facilitate few well paid and even other employees for a comparatively peaceful life and save the wrath of their erstwhile capitalist masters. Here nationalization, as we can see, blunts the class struggle.
The real emancipation of the exploited class is its own state, by defeating the enemy class and smashing its old state apparatus, and by building a socialist society, where the private property is converted into social wealth. Nationalization of industries and land and other resources, in a country, where the state power is in the hands of the working class, through its revolutionary party, is a transitory method to control the production, as long as state exists and later make it part of social wealth. We call it socialization, and that is our aim.
“The genius of Marx lies in his having been the first to deduce from this the lesson world history teaches and to apply that lesson consistently. The deduction he made is the doctrine of the class struggle.”

Why No Outcry from BJP or TV Anchors When I Was Attacked, Asks This Hindu Sadhu
New Delhi: The recent mob lynching incident of Palghar led to a massive outcry on television and social media, particularly from Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, Hindutva activists and others associated with right-leaning ideologies. Their response has essentially revolved around the fact that two of three men killed were sadhus affiliated with an akhara in Varanasi. This fact was used by the BJP and a section of television anchors to communalise the incident, even though the attackers were adivasis – considered Hindus by the Sangh parivar – and there was not a single Muslim or Christian among those the police arrested. The two sadhus, who bear the name ‘Giri’, were initially claimed by Gosavi nomadic tribal leaders as members of their community but Dainik Bhaskar has reported from Bhadohi in Uttar Pradesh that the older sadhu was the son of a Brahmin named Chintamani Tiwari. The Palghar police told The Wire they have no information about the identity of the deceased other than their names. In July 2018, a horrific lynching incident of Gosavi tribals took place in Dhule, Maharashtra. But since the state was ruled by a BJP chief minister at the time, the Hindutva lobby did not make it a big issue. But now that a Shiv Sena-Congress-NCP coalition is ruling the state, the Palghar incident has been given not just a political colour but communal overtones too. On Wednesday, another saffron-robed person who was brutally attacked by a mob in Jharkhand in July 2018 – Swami Agnivesh – released a video condemning the Palghar murders. He also drew attention to the system’s failure to punish those who had lynched Muslims like Akhlaq, Pehlu Khan and Junaid and then spoke about his own experience at the hands of a mob. Agnivesh was badly beaten in a mob attack in Pakur, Jharkhand. The FIR registered by the local police identified eight of his attackers – all of whom were affiliated with the BJP, RSS and the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), a youth group affiliated to the BJP.  Speaking to The Wire on Thursday Agnivesh said that even though the attackers were identified, the then Jharkhand government—led by Raghubar Das of the BJP — dragged its feet. A month later, in August 2018, Agnivesh was again assaulted in public, allegedly by BJP workers, this time in Delhi near the BJP headquarters where he was headed to pay his respects to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In September 2018, he asked the Supreme Court to club both cases of assault and hand the probe over to the Central Bureau of Investigation but a bench headed by Justice S.A. Bobde, now chief justice of India, refused to intervene. Agnivesh, who is 81-years-old, has been facing severe health issues since the attack. The attack, he says, has left him battered, and has led to serious health complications, including a serious liver ailment. “What happened in Palghar is condemnable. But the communal forces that tried to flare up the incident and give an entirely new twist to it by introducing the involvement of Muslims or Christian missionary groups needs to be condemned too,” he said in his video message. Agnivesh also pointed to the cases of lynching of Muslims and those from the lower castes that were orchestrated in the name of “gourakhsa” by the highly violent cow vigilante groups. “Since the BJP and other right-wing activists are making so much noise. They should also answer why the killers of Akhlaq are not punished? Why has there been no justice in Junaid’s mob lynching case or in Pehlu Khan or Rizwan’s murder cases?” he asks.
Tumblr media
Screenshot of video that circulated on social media of Swami Agnivesh being attacked in Pakur, Jharkhand, in July 2018. Although the then CM of Jharkhand Das had ordered an inquiry in the case of attack on Agnivesh, the investigation never moved ahead. The police registered a FIR against eight BJYM activists, including its district president, and a special investigation team was formed to probe the incident. Das had announced that the incident would be probed by the Santhal Pargana DIG and divisional commissioner. But the case has since been in cold storage, Agnivesh says. Agnivesh had visited Pakur on July 17, 2018, to attend a programme concerning the Paharia tribe at the Littipara stadium. Just when he was leaving his hotel, a group of protesters began shouting slogans against him. The crowd soon got close to Agnivesh and some of them then assaulted him. He fell to the ground, his clothes were ripped and his turban pulled off. That incident was filmed and videos of the incident circulated on several social media platforms. Agnivesh says no one bothered to support him although he too was in saffron robes. “I could have been killed in that attack… The prime minister did not feel compelled to condemn the act and till date no police or state government has bothered to investigate the matter,” he said. “No one can claim I was smuggling cows or was involved in slaughtering a cow. I was still attacked. Why did that happen?” The assault on Agnivesh was reported by one of the channels that has made a campaign out of the Palghar incident, Republic TV, but it added the text “Maoist sympathiser” on its screen to describe the swami and called the attackers a “fringe group” when they were in fact all linked to the BJP in one way or the other. Its reporter also said that one of the reasons for the attack could have been the mob’s concerns that Agnivesh was involved with “Christian missionaries”. It is not known if the channel’s editor, Arnab Goswami, had organised any prime time panel discussion on this 2018 attack on a Hindu sadhu. A YouTube search drew a blank. In the Palghar incident of April 16, three persons—of which two were dressed in saffron robe—were murdered after being mistaken for “child abductors” and “thieves” by the local tribal community. The deceased persons have been identified as 70-year-old Kalpvrush Giri and 35-year-old Sushil Giri, both affiliated to one ‘Shri Panch Dashnam  Juna Akhaara’ in Varanasi. Their driver, Nilesh Telgade, was killed too in the attack. In all, 110 persons, including nine juveniles, have been taken into custody and state home minister Anil Deshmukh decided to make all the names public in a desperate attempt to bust the BJP’s claim that it was a communal attack involving Muslims or Christians. On April 22, Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami was driving home in his motor car when he two motor-cycle borne men attempted to attack him. The accused have been identified as Prateek Mishra and Arun Borade, both office bearers of the Youth Congress in the Sion-Koliwada Assembly constituency. Mishra is the general secretary of the Sion-Koliwada Youth Congress and Borade is the president. In a TV show earlier that day, Goswami had said that the Palghar murders were committed at the behest of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, whom he described as an “Italian” who had got “Hindu holy men killed: “…That Italian Sonia Gandhi, who has come from Rome…she is silent today, it seems to me, that in her heart she must be delighted…she is happy that these holy men were killed in a state where she runs the government. She will send a report…I am saying this…she will send a report to Italy…I am saying this…(in the state) where I have made the government, I am getting Hindu holy men killed…and she will be applauded there (in Italy)…wonderful, child, wonderful, you’ve really done well, Sonia Gandhi Antonia Maino…” Goswami’s remarks are now being investigated by the Mumbai police on a complaint of hate speech filed by a Congress minister. State polls first task for new BJP president JP Nadda - india news
Tumblr media
The transition that took place with Jagat Prakash Nadda’s elevation as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president will be closely watched for several reasons with the key among them being the selection of his new team and how the party will do in the assembly elections in Delhi next month and Bihar months later. The term of Nadda’s predecessor, Amit Shah, who became the BJP’s youngest president, ended in January 2019. But he continued to hold the position as the organisational elections in the states, a prerequisite for the new national president’s selection, had not been concluded. The party under Shah saw a surge in its membership and made inroads into states like Assam beyond its traditional bastions. Shah wielded control and oversaw every aspect from the membership drive to the BJP’s election strategy.Nadda’s role will be closely watched when the BJP is trying hard to fend off accusations of fostering polarisation. The protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the proposed National Register of Citizens and faltering economy are issues that confront the party. The issues are expected to have electoral ramifications in state elections in West Bengal and Bihar. The BJP hopes to wrest power from the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal and to retain it with ally Janata Dal (United) in Bihar. The state elections are crucial for the party following a string of losses in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan in 2018 and Jharkhand last month. Nadda, 59, will also have the task of building bridges with the allies, some of whom have made their differences public, particularly after the oldest ally, the Shiv Sena, ended its alliance with the BJP to form the government in Maharashtra with the Nationalist Congress Party and Congress last year.“Working as a national president requires working with a broader perspective, and diverse regional political interest groups. The north is different from the northeast, the west from the south. So, that will be a challenge facing the new president,” said Milind Awad, a professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University.BJP functionaries HT spoke to said Nadda will bring with him organisational skills he honed first as the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) general secretary and later as a key BJP functionary in Himachal Pradesh. He will follow Shah’s template for growth, but will have a working style that will set him apart, they added.“Nadda is a hard-working, patient and affable personality. He keeps a low profile, but is proficient in skills required for leading an organisation based on ideology yet still made up of diverse people. His style of functioning will not be overshadowed by that of his predecessors,” said a party leader familiar with Nadda’s style. While comparisons are inevitable, party leaders said, they are expecting Nadda, who was first appointed as the party’s working president in June 2019, to continue the processes established by the “ Modi-Shah duo”.“It is the Prime Minister and Shah who galvanised workers and led the party to its current position. Nadda will complement the duo. It will be a successful troika. Modi with his mass appeal, Shah with his tough decision making and Nadda with his grip on organisational affairs will steer the party,” said a second functionary. The reappointment of several state unit presidents, who were appointed during Shah’s tenure, is being perceived as an indication that his writ will continue to run.BJP leader Murlidhar Rao said the party will make the most of the gains made under Shah and added there will be collaborative efforts between the old and the new guard to keep the party’s momentum going.“Shah had a free hand for five years and it was under his watch that party won several state elections and the last Lok Sabha polls. For the new president, his...experience and tremendous know-how will be an added asset. He can reach out for advice and assistance and that will be the extent to which Shah’s influence will continue.”Several leaders said that Nadda’s “man-management skills” and “cordiality” will prove advantageous. “He has a sharp mind, is a good listener and can work without creating waves…sometimes that is also necessary to bind people,” said the second functionary.Nadda, who served as the Union health minister during Modi’s first term, belongs to a Brahmin family from Himachal Pradesh. He began his political career as a student leader in Bihar, where his father, N L Nadda, served as Patna University’s vice-chancellor.According to Nadda’s biodata on the Rajya Sabha website, he was inspired by the Bihar students’ movement in 1974 (also called JP movement) before his association with the ABVP and BJP’s youth wing, which he also headed. Nadda has a law degree from Himachal Pradesh. He was first elected to the Himachal Pradesh assembly from Bilaspur in 1993 and has served as a state minister too. This Is the Reason Modi will win the war protesters have waged against him CAA

This Is the Reason Modi will win the war protesters have waged against him CAA
Since skirmishes and conflagrations split there's a lot of unnecessary human suffering. Damage to public land. Regular life caused a standstill. Regrettably, in the present atmosphere, all over the country there's more smoke than light. The confusion appears worse confound even one of the best-informed. However, if anybody is in doubt what these disturbances are all around, I'd ask them to only look at a societal networking hashtag which has been trending -- #IndiaHatesModi. It's filled with this bile and loathing from Prime Minister Narendra Modi that anger within the newly passed Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is left. Here is a good illustration from a renowned journalist: "It appears @narendramodi has started a war on India. Let's see if he survives or India!" This message has been appended to the hashtag #CAA_NRC_Protest.
Tumblr media
This Is the Reason Modi will win the war protesters have waged against him CAA As is evident, it isn't that Modi has announced that the war on India. Rather a little part of well-organized Modi-haters has declared war on Narendrabhai. Obviously, some well-meaning protesters that have united in are exempt from this fee. Maybe, they do not despise Modi just as much. I am referring to segments of this childhood. However, the movies flaunting young protesters from the CAA just illustrate how ill-informed this significant section of the society is. Having educated young adults all of my life, I am aware they are in favor of everything great and seemingly idealistic. Truth, justice, equality, minority asserts LGBT rights, etc. And why don't you? What is the purpose of being youthful but cynical or despairing about the future of India let alone individual ailment? But these exact same young folks do not understand the first easy thing concerning the CAA. It isn't about disenfranchising any citizen of India. It's all about granting citizenship. To whom? The Act is all about giving, not taking away citizenship. What about those excluded from its purview, specifically Muslims? There are three or more Islamic nations in our area --Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. The CAA is for all those people who have nowhere but India to flip to. Are there any no persecuted minorities in Islam? The Ahmadiyyas of Pakistan is just one example. They've been beaten, abused, mistreated, hounded, differently concentrated, and frequently charged with blasphemy, a capital offense in Pakistan. Their possessions destroyed, stores burned off, even their graves vandalized. In the event, the Ahmadiyyas, for example, also get refuge from India? Yes, they could. Even under present citizenship legislation. However, they wouldn't obtain the five decades' relief given to additional communities--Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, Sikhs, Jains, and Parsis. The CAA doesn't debar Muslims from getting Indian citizens if they're religious refugees. They'd be still be covered by existing provisions of the citizenship legislation. People who believe this unfair ought to move an amendment to the CAA in Parliament instead of burning off buses on the roads. Sad to say, the actors and Bollywood celebrities from CAA, though both ill-informed, aren't as innocent as a portion of our childhood. Some have posted fake videos and pictures. Besides revealing unauthorized maps of India with no Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Chinese-occupied Aksai Chin. Not one of these, furthermore, seems to have read the Citizenship Amendment Act correctly. The CAA is just part of what the protests are actually about. This really is against Modi. Along with also his sarkar. When there's something which unites protesters throughout celebration, caste, religious, linguistic, or cultural lines it's Modi-hatred. That borders on the absurd and pathological. However, as our religious masters have cautioned us, too much abuse is self-corrosive. Modi-haters will also be united by the rights they've lost. The new India he attempts to usher in is completely threatening and alarming to Modi-haters. What troubles them about Modi's thought of India? It's merely 1 thing. This type of consolidation, as we've observed in the past ten years or longer, has got the capacity to alter the dynamics of Indian politics which its erstwhile post-Independence rulers are currently fighting for their own survival. These include caste satraps, agents of backwardness, Muslim bullies and rabble-rousers, regional feudalists, dynasts of stripes. As I was composing this, #IndiaHatesModi was overtaken by #RamlilaMaidan. The latter pushed beyond 50k tweets in hours of Prime Minister Modi's speech. So much for creating a lot of social networking tendencies. Prime Minister Modi has struck back against his detractors. An unholy and unruly combination of"urban Naxals", jihadists, negative Ambedkarites, etc --all backed by disgruntled opposition leaders and parties. Obviously, he also reminded people that it's the exact same Modi sarkar that's going to regularise unauthorized colonies in Delhi. If that's the case, how is it accused of being anti-people? Everybody who lives here has been craved. Why did we do so? Since we live for the love of the nation. Listening to me, I'm almost tempted to say that the war against Modi much more looks like a match. And he's winning this round also. 'The resistance is coming from all sections of society': Hindu nationalism and its opponents
Tumblr media
Writer and activist Amrit Wilson talks to Counterfire’s Shabbir Lakha about the BJP’s violence and the growing protest movement against the Hindu supremacists
We've seen a rise in human rights abuses and ethnic violence in India in recent years. Could you give us an idea of what's happening, and why you are organising the demonstration on 15 August?
India is regarded by many people in this country as a place of peace and tranquility, and there is on the whole an unquestioning acceptance of the notion that India is quirky perhaps, but still the world's largest democracy. The reality is very different. The current BJP regime is a fascistic Hindu-supremacist government. Over the last two years there have been a series of horrific attacks on Muslims, Christians and Dalits, often under the pretext that they have consumed or stored beef, transported cows or that they are involved in inter-religious relationships (which are branded as ‘Love Jihad’) or inter-caste relationships. They have taken the form of lynching, stripping, flogging and burning to death, and they are being carried out by Hindu supremacist gangs close to the government.
These attacks are happening all over India but particularly in the states across India where the BJP is in power, in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and even in the outskirts of Delhi. Alongside this there has been a rise in rapes and violence against women, targetting of organised workers and silencing of those who dissent. There is also massive resistance and our demonstration is about showing solidarity with that resistance and also about demanding justice for those who have been killed and their bereaved families.
Many have pointed to India's Prime Minister for this. What do you think?
Narendra Modi is well known for having presided over the genocidal attacks on Muslims in Gujarat in which 2,000 were killed and over 200,000 were displaced.Modi's politics havenot changed and cannot change. He is a lifelong member of a fascist organisation the RSS, the parent body of the BJP, which is modelled on Mussolini's Black shirts and whose leaders saw Hitler’s treatment of the Jews as a model to be emulated.
The RSS now dictates policies to the central and state governments, including, as in Israel, a complete rewrite of history books to glorify Hindu nationalism and vilify all Muslims, including the Mughal emperors. RSS members are increasingly given key positions in government. Recently the BJP was boasting about the new President being a Dalit. Not only was he a token Dalit but he was a long serving member of the RSS who had never spoken out about Dalit issues.
Meanwhile the retiring Vice-President, Hamid Ansari, has been attacked in highly Islamophobic terms by Modi for daring to suggest that Muslims felt increasingly insecure in India. In Uttar Pradesh one of India's largest and most important states, the man appointed as Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath has a record of hate speech and several criminal cases pending against him. He is known to have said that he 'will not stop' till he turns 'UP and India into a Hindu state'. Since he became Chief Minister, Hindu supremacist gangs which include a violent youth   organisation founded by Yogi himself have been burning Dalit homes and attacking and killing Muslims.
All this is happening against a background of extreme inequality. Last Friday there were reports that at least 63 children had died because of a shortage of oxygen in the previous five days in the state-run hospital in Yogi Adityanath's own constituency. Children are continuing to die because of the absence of facilities in hospitals for the poor. Yogi has tried to justify the recent deaths, saying it is ‘normal’ for children to die in August. Meanwhile, the Modi government and its captive media is focussing on whether or not pupils in Muslim schools will recite Hindu nationalist slogans for Independence Day, and have outrageously called the children’s deaths a ‘distraction’ from these ‘real’ issues! The people are responding with a powerful left-led movement demanding Yogi's resignation.
What other kinds of resistance have there been to the BJP government?
The resistance is coming from all sections of society....
