Walking the paths where Jesus Himself walked is a truly humbling experience. At the Sea of Galilee, Jesus walked on water & performed many more of His miracles. It was a joy to take a break & enjoy a swim in the Jesus Lake, marvelling at the Lord’s Creation. 🌊✨

The Healing Power of Faith A Journey Through John 5
The Transformative Miracle at the Pool of Bethesda
Tumblr media
John 5 presents one of the most compelling narratives in the New Testament, highlighting a profound miracle performed by Jesus at the Pool of Bethesda. This account not only showcases Jesus' healing power but also reveals deeper truths about faith, divine authority, and the importance of spiritual renewal.
The Setting: Hope and Despair
The Pool of Bethesda, located near Jerusalem's Sheep Gate, was a place where the sick and disabled gathered, hoping for healing from its waters. According to tradition, an angel would periodically stir the waters, and the first person to enter the pool would be healed. Amidst this crowd was a man who had been paralyzed for 38 years. His long-term suffering and inability to reach the pool in time for healing symbolize the human experience of enduring hope and persistent disappointment.
Jesus’ Encounter with the Paralyzed Man
As Jesus approaches the pool, He notices the paralyzed man and asks him, "Wilt thou be made whole?" This question is more profound than it appears, addressing the man's deep-seated desire for healing and change. The man's response reflects his despair and helplessness: "Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me."
Jesus’ response is both compassionate and authoritative. He commands, "Rise, take up thy bed, and walk." Instantly, the man is healed. This miracle underscores the power of Jesus' word and the immediate transformation that occurs through faith and divine intervention.
The Conflict: Healing on the Sabbath
The healing, performed on the Sabbath, quickly attracts the attention of the Jewish leaders. According to their interpretation of the law, carrying a bed on the Sabbath was considered work and therefore forbidden. When questioned, the healed man points to Jesus, explaining that the one who healed him instructed him to carry his bed.
The Jewish leaders confront Jesus, who responds with a profound statement: "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work." By aligning His actions with God's work, Jesus asserts His divine authority and identity, challenging the leaders' rigid legalism and revealing the deeper purpose of the Sabbath.
Spiritual Renewal and Holistic Healing
Later, Jesus finds the healed man in the temple and offers an important admonition: "Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee." This statement highlights the interconnectedness of physical and spiritual health. Jesus emphasizes that true healing encompasses both the body and the soul, calling for a life of faith and repentance.
Key Lessons from John 5
John 5 offers several crucial lessons for believers. First, it emphasizes the transformative power of faith. The paralyzed man's healing was not just about his physical condition but also about his belief in Jesus' command. This story encourages us to trust in Jesus' power and to seek His intervention in our lives.
Second, the narrative highlights the importance of compassion over legalism. Jesus' willingness to heal on the Sabbath shows that acts of mercy should take precedence over strict adherence to rules. This teaches us to prioritize love and kindness in our interactions with others.
Lastly, John 5 reveals Jesus' divine authority. His ability to heal and His declaration of unity with God the Father confirm His identity as the Son of God. This invites us to recognize and submit to Jesus' lordship in all areas of our lives.
Conclusion
The story of the healing at the Pool of Bethesda in John 5 is a powerful testimony to Jesus' compassion, divine authority, and the transformative power of faith. It calls us to seek holistic healing, embrace a compassionate spirit, and acknowledge Jesus' lordship. As we reflect on this passage, may we be inspired to rise from our own struggles and walk in the light of Jesus' grace and truth.

“Walking on Water” seems to have captured the imaginations of some of my clients. Inspired by a dream I had last year, it’s my take on the Biblical story. I have to say, I had great fun pulling it together. The natural oak frame works well. poster-780.jpg Have you experienced a miracle? I continue to work on my graphic novel script. I’ve been especially interested in miraculous healing for the past few months. In my reading and discussions with people I’ve run across fascinating stories. But, so far, everything could fall under a “low probability” non-miraculous recovery. Morgan Freeman’s entertaining National Geographic series titled The Story of God did an episode on “The Power of Miracles” in 2016. In the Christian example, a terminally ill man was deeply loved by his church. They did all-night prayer vigils. The man unexplainably recovered, but only after receiving medical treatment. Everyone has a metaphysical story from someone they know. Cancer and any number of physical conditions do occasionally go into remission. And sometimes people live after falling from unbelievable heights. I’m looking for a firsthand account from a physical condition such as an amputated finger that grew back. This type of regeneration could never happen in any low probability situation. It is unquestionably a miracle. Let’s avoid stories by TV evangelist that make large financial gains from faith healing ministries. No leg being pulled here J. Please don’t comment with material from books. If it is a secondhand account I would be interested in following up, in some way, with the person myself. . . . #miracle #faithhealing #faithhealer #miraclehealing #medicalmarvel #miraclehealing #answertoprayer #healingprayer #jesusmiracles #prayerministry #healingworkshop #charismatichealing #faithremedy #healingmagic #religiousmiracles https://www.instagram.com/p/B4sWWEtjF8W/?igshid=zegpo50ojj93

Here at Kursi, Israel, the demon possessed man named Legion was delivered from demons as mentioned in Luke 8:26-29, They sailed to the region of the Gerasenes which is across the lake from Galilee… “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God?.. For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man.” Kursi (Gerassa) National Park is a historical treasure trove of faith

The First Miracle of Jesus The Wedding at Cana in John 2
The Miracle at Cana: Water into Wine and Lessons for Today
A Wedding to Remember
Picture yourself at a lively wedding in Cana, a small town in Galilee. The music is playing, people are dancing, and the atmosphere is vibrant. Suddenly, whispers spread among the guests: the wine has run out! In a culture where hospitality is paramount, this could spell disaster. But this wedding is about to become unforgettable for an entirely different reason. Enter Jesus, accompanied by His mother, Mary, and His disciples. What happens next is a miracle that still resonates today.
A Simple Request
Mary notices the predicament and approaches Jesus with a simple statement: "They have no wine." Although Jesus responds, "Woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come," His mother’s faith is unwavering. She turns to the servants and instructs them, "Whatever He says to you, do it." This sets the stage for an extraordinary act of divine intervention.
Miraculous Transformation
Jesus directs the servants to fill six large stone jars with water, each holding twenty to thirty gallons. Once filled, He tells them to draw some out and take it to the master of the feast. To everyone’s astonishment, the water has turned into the finest wine. The master of the feast, unaware of the miracle, praises the bridegroom for saving the best wine for last. This transformation is not just a party trick; it’s a profound demonstration of Jesus’ power and compassion.
Fun Fact
Here’s a fun tidbit: The amount of wine Jesus created would be equivalent to about 600 to 900 bottles today! Talk about an abundant blessing. This miracle wasn’t just about meeting a need; it was about overflowing generosity and joy.
Lessons for Todays
Jesus Cares About Our Needs: This miracle shows that Jesus cares about every aspect of our lives, even the seemingly small or social aspects. If He is willing to intervene in a wedding crisis, how much more is He willing to help us in our daily struggles?
Faith and Obedience: Mary’s faith and the servants’ obedience were crucial to this miracle. It reminds us that having faith in Jesus and being willing to follow His guidance can lead to extraordinary outcomes.
Transformation: The transformation of water into wine symbolizes the transformative power of Jesus in our lives. He can take our ordinary circumstances and turn them into something extraordinary.
Reflective Questions
When faced with a problem, do you bring it to Jesus with the same confidence as Mary did?
How can you show faith and obedience in your daily life?
In what ways has Jesus transformed your ordinary experiences into something extraordinary?
Conclusion
The miracle at Cana is a powerful reminder of Jesus’ compassion, power, and ability to bring joy and transformation into our lives. Next time you find yourself in a tight spot, remember that Jesus is more than capable of turning water into wine in your situation.

Kursi National Park, Gerassa, Israel, is believed to be the location of the Swine Miracle where Jesus cast the demons out of legion into the pigs. “The demons begged Jesus to let them go into the pigs, & he gave them permission” - Luke 8:32.
