Every other aspect of Jesse’s trauma makes me go oh no poor blorbo :( but his relationship w his parents and thinking ab it in the context of the series aftermath actually makes me unwell… they never even knew him they only ever saw the worst in him and now they’ve had that validated by his own actions and they’ll never know how sorry he is and that he was a good kid at heart and they didn’t imagine it and they still love him but how can they have loved him if they never even knew him and only ever saw the worst in him *flatlines*

Jesse explaining that although all three boys generally experienced the same physical abuse, Roman has internalized his experience as a victim in a different way than Kendall and Connor.   

“I would suggest Logan would have cuffed and hit all the boys at different times in their lives.  I think the difference for Roman maybe is that he feels like he was bullied in the domestic environment and so we can all react to things in different ways. I think Connor and Kendall probably have experienced that and have managed to accommodate it without it being a big part of their psychology whereas I think Roman being that beaten dog and being - there’s often a dynamic isn’t there with bullied people as sort of needing the feeling of negative attention that you get from that and I think he’s become, not addicted to it, but related to it.”

adhd is diverse and so are individual experiences with it. for example, jesse pinkman was unquestionably diagnosed by age 7 at the very latest for being king of classroom disruption and not cleaning his room, but his parents refused to have him put on stimulant medication because adderall and ritalin are "basically meth". jimmy mcgill just got hit with yardsticks a lot by the nuns at catholic school for Shenanigans and his dad turned stocking inventory on the store shelves into a fun racing game to tire his ass out.

Speaking of "objectively deranged": In BATGIRL #50, Batman and Batgirl (Cassandra Cain) beat the crap out of each other, nearly get blown up, and end up almost drowning in the Gotham River (which all things considered is probably more dangerous than any of the rest). Batman's coterie of Bat-flunkies run around frantically trying to intervene, assuming that Bruce and Cass have been dosed with a new super-drug that causes homicidal rage, but Bruce later tells Barbara Gordon that wasn't the case at all:

obviously the breaking bad cast was appropriately lauded and rewarded for their performances but none of those award-nominated scenes of drama and suspense and intensity compare to the Family Dinner From Hell in 5x06. anna gunn projecting an icy contempt that literally penetrates thru the screen and pierces the audience watching to the point that it's genuinely intimidating to make eye contact with her. bryan cranston visibly trying to puppeteer the two people in front of him with his mind, silently seething like an angry teen in the backseat who wants his parents to know that he's pissed. and fucking aaron paul literally reverting to ten years of age, making child of divorce-like attempts to break the silence and turn his parents' attention to himself instead of each other with compliments, then jokes, then finally giving up and hiding behind a glass of water so he can go to his mind palace. orson welles has been VERY quiet since this episode dropped.
