After a short flight, I arrive in Mt. Komorebi, and my S-Uber drops me off near the Onsen Bathhouse, where Mo and Stef are already waiting with our fourth guy.

As soon as I get a good look at Nate, I regret not asking him his age when we talked on the phone. He’s young, as I suspected, but I’m shocked to see he doesn’t look much older than Dub. Suddenly I’m feeling responsible for somebody’s kid. But it’s too late; he’s here. I know how much Dub hates being treated like a child. I’m sure Nate would react the same way, so I decide not to address it.

Kai: You must be, Nate. I’m Kai, Kai Banks.

Nathaniel: What up? I’m Nathaniel Pierson, but everyone calls me Nate.

Pierson? That sounds familiar.

Kai: It’s nice to meet you. I’m glad you were able to join us on such short notice.

Nathaniel: It’s all good. I’ve been waiting on a chance to do this forever.

Kai: Same here. Have you already met Mo and Stef?

Nathaniel: Yep, we’re all acquainted and everything.

Nate’s attention is pulled to his phone after he receives an alert.

Nathaniel: One sec, it’s my lady.

I turn to Stef, giving Nate a moment to respond to the text.

Kai: So, are you ready for this?

Stefan: I am hoping so. Lia says we could die here, so now I have some doubts.

Kai: We’ll be fine. We’ve trained for this, remember?

Welcome, and Happy New Year!

Good afternoon, Simblr!

It's been a while since I've said hello to my new followers, and over the past few months quite a few of you have come on board so I thought I'd take a little time out to say heeeeeey and introduce myself.

I am Jes2G, but you can call me Jess. I like making sims and writing stories. I also occasionally make video tutorials about various things (mostly making sims and writing lol). I'm working on two stories currently. I've got a rotation style legacy going on as well as story based on the ISBI challenge.

Outside of simming, I like playing other games (mostly Valheim and Cities: Skylines 2 right now), dabbling in graphic design, drinking hot beverages (mostly tea, but I've become quite a coffee snob lol), chewing gum, and laughing until I can't breathe.

I don't talk a whole lot, but I'll talk your ear off about my characters and stories, so feel free to send me asks about them. And if you're shy like me, include this emoji so I know not to answer publicly. 🤐

Why did you choose your url?

Basically because my name was too long to sign my art. Antwanyce Richardson became RichAnt but I added art so you’d know my content was art related. The “The” was added because RichAnt was taken when I did my website. Then I started simming and I wasn’t posting much art here on Tumblr so I switched to the TheRichAntSim. 

Any side blogs? If you have them name them and why you have them.

Well, technically this is my side blog. My main blog is HERE but I also have another tumblr page where I put cc I may want to use later. @richantsimreblog 

How long have you been on tumblr?

I originally joined in 12/2011. Back then I posted my art and a lot of black expression content. Haute Couture fashion from different design houses, other peoples art and the occasional beautifully plated food dish.   

Do you have a queue tag?

You mean like tags for each post? #Let It Burn, #TheRichAntSim and #Blackburn Legacy are my main tags. Hope that answers that question...

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I wanted a place where I could post personal stuff that wouldn’t negatively affect my business. Especially memes that had strong language and content.

Then I found my passion for storytelling via the sims and here we are. 

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

It’s the legacy home of the legacy story.

Remembering my legacy story...

That tag has me thinking about my legacy story and how the story was shaped by my discoveries and ignorance while learning about this game. The first few generations were kind of tragic. I played vanilla and on normal life, and it took me until the day before X's birthday to get married. I was so scared he was gonna die without children, causing me to fail the challenge on the first try lol. He actually was engaged before, but his fiancé showed up the night before the wedding as an elder!! My boy had to start all over. UGH! He eventually found someone, but he had to propose to her three times! FINALLY he got married and had two children before he croaked.

His wife died on their son's teen birthday, leaving both children an orphan! I was terrified social services was gonna come and take them away! 🤣 I didn't know yet that teenagers were just baby-faced adults. 😑 But man, that period was hard. Those poor kids had to grow up way too fast. They got jobs to pay the bills, and they had almost zero free time. They were tired ALL the time because all they did was work. They had their jobs, but they also had a garden they had to take care of because the flowers paid the lion's share of the bills. They stopped doing their homework because it took up too much time. Their grades plummeted, and the principal called every day. But somehow I discovered you could have their birthdays at any time, so I aged the oldest one up like 4 or 5 days early because those poor kids needed a break!

At the end of generation two and through three, I felt like I had a good handle on the game and what it could do, so my curiosity came out and so did Stories By Jes2G lol. That's when this story started to get real messy LOL. My heir had a girlfriend, but the relationship wasn't really going anywhere so he started seeing this other girl. But he didn't know girlfriend #1 was pregnant! He fell all the way in love with girlfriend #2, moved her in (learned my lesson from gen 1!!), married her, and knocked her up. They had a happy little family for a while. No sooner than he forgot about girlfriend #1, the bastard son showed up at his door all casual like my mama said you're my daddy...nice house! 🤣 That did not go over well. As a matter of fact, his wife was very upset and tried to burn off some steam on the treadmill. But she was an elder and... RIP Adalynn.

Generation four was when I learned just how much you can learn about your characters just by letting them be autonomous and watching them go. The tragedy of this generation was what happens when two horny teens get married out of high school lol. Those two had nothing in common and led two separate lives under the same roof. That was partly because I was focused on making them complete their aspirations, but also they rarely interacted with each other when they were autonomous. The wife was a career woman and was not interested in having a third child. But the first two were girls, and this legacy was a strict patriarchy and I needed a son. That caused a lot of drama in the story, but he found a way to make her give in. But things were never the same, and she eventually divorced him and left the kids which of course affected the next generation.

Every generation up til like...seven had some kind of drama/tragedy, and I didn't realize it until I stopped and read the story myself. I was like WHOA! This is so much! This is what I put my readers through? LOL I made sure to tone things down in the second half of gen 8 because we needed the break. We had peace and happiness for a while followed by a veeery slow burn. Then I kicked the drama back up and ended on a hopeful tragic note, bring back the fall out from the gen 3 mess. It was a great ride!

I used to love building in The Sims 3, but something about this game's building mechanics completely turned me off. To be honest, I don't quite know what it is about building that just infuriates me. So the generations two through like...eight(???), my legacy house was made up of styled rooms lol. I honestly don't know anyone else who even used those things. I'd just piece together those rooms and close them in with walls lol. Needless, the legacy house was very odd and much bigger than it needed to be because of all these oddly shaped blank spaces. 😅 I made use of every single one of them too!

We make our way to the next climb - Croft Icefall. The weather is pleasant, and the climbing conditions are in our favor. Mo, Stef, and Nate, don’t hesitate to begin. I stand back, checking my cell phone in vain for a signal, so I can update Me-Me on how things are going. I should have known there wouldn’t be one this high up in the mountains.

I put my phone away and watch the guys make their ascent. My heart stops momentarily when Mo misses a step and hangs on by his fingertips. I breathe again once he finds his footing and continues his climb. Nate is the first up, but that’s not shocking. The kid is on fire.

1. What’s your favorite sims death? I haven't really had many other deaths besides old age. Even if I did I don't think I could choose a favorite way for them to go. I'm gonna steal @mysimsloveaffair's answer lol. She said her favorite death is old age because it means they lived a full life.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Maxis Mix

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? For gameplay, not at all. But for stories I might if it makes sense for the character. For example, Kameron is a very fit character. But in real life, he doesn't workout as much as he used to so he often loses muscle mass. Lean Kam just don't look right, so I used MCCC to freeze his body frame so he doesn't gain or lose weight/muscle.

4. Do you use move objects? Absolutely

5. Favorite mod? MC Command Center closely followed by Relationships and Pregnancy Overhaul by lumpinou. These two keep me on my toes and give you guys all the drama you love lol.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? I got the first one when it came out.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? ALIVE!! I will die on this hill lol. Don't get me started!

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Either Kameron or Amina Pope. I've been with Kameron the longest, and he is my dude forever. Amina was special to me even in CAS, and when I finally found the right story for her, she made it so easy. The story wrote itself!

9. Have you made a simself? I've been making simselves since TS2

10. What sim traits did you give yourself? I think she is creative, music lover, loner?

11. What is your favorite EA hair color? I use the neutral black the most, but I really love that new ashy brown. I think it's the 3rd one? It's Tori's hair dye color.

12. Favorite EA hair? Ehhhh...I tend to ignore EA hairs lol

13. Favorite life stage? Young Adult

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? Building is not my ministry lol

15. Are you a CC creator? No, but I have recolored some things before.

16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? Sure do! (Hey y'all!)

17. What’s your favorite game? That's tough to say. Gameplay-wise, I think I'm still partial to Sims 2. But seeing as I'm addicted to Create-a-Sim, I'd have to say Sims 4 because the other games can't hold a candle to the current genetics and options!

18. Do you have any Sims merch? Yep. I used to have this ginormous mouse pad with that Sims mouse. I also got those notebooks from the shop that came out a few years ago. Now I want to burn them all LOL.

19. Do you have a YouTube for sims? Sure do! My list of videos to make keeps growing. I just need to make the time to do them...and my hair LOL.

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? I'm not sure if this question is referring to play style or CAS style so I'll do both. My play style has not changed. I've always enjoyed family play even though that's not all I do. People say I have a sim style and they know a sim is mine when they see them, but I can't see it. I just like making unique sims. Not sure if I've changed or not.

22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? No way I can pick just one...or even 5 lol. Just to name a few... peacemaker, simstrouble, severinka, mclaynesims, jius, wisteriasims, crypticsim, pralinesims, sifix...

23. How long have you had a simblr? I technically joined in 2014 but I wasn't active. I decided to give it a real shot in 2017 and decided to go all in in 2019.

24. How do you edit your pictures? I have a set of actions I created in Photoshop that I run. I used to make different actions for all my stories to give them unique looks. Now I create ReShade presets and let it do the heavy lifting.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? GROWING TOGETHER! It's all I really wanted.

26. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? I don't want or need anything else EXCEPT for all the bugs to be fixed! I'm ready for this version of the game to be over so the modders can make the game great in peace!

24.2 The After Party - Mary and Reed go upstairs for a little after party. Will they finally get what they've both wanted?
