Pop Punk Band Member Names
So a while ago, I made a sim inspired by 2000s pop punk singers. When it came to deciding on his name, I got in that mood I tend towards where I spend way too long doing very meticulous searching/organizing in order to find names of real pop punk band members that I could mix & match until I found the perfect one.
This list isn’t as interesting as some of my other name lists, cause it’s just basic white boy names lol but... that’s what I was looking for when I made the sim that inspired this list so gkdjfhdsddfdhng

Mowin’ Down the Roses
May 2nd
C’mon, let’s have a little fun with this one.  Now that April showers have brought May flowers, let’s talk roses.  Yes, “Mowin’ Down the Roses” is modern country with an old-school country feel, thanks to Jamey Johnson, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying it if you’re one of those with a phobia for country music.
“Mowin’ Down the Roses”, written by Johnson and Jeremy Popoff, is from Johnson’s 2008 album That Lonesome Song.  Johnson has a way of telling a story that goes straight to the heart or right at the funny bone (and sometimes both at the same time).  The music itself is delivered in a way that reflects the humor of the song.  The guitar and the drums are playful and mischevious .
In “Mowin’ Down the Roses”, Johnson sings about how a guy is dealing with the end of a relationship.  And he has a unique way of handling it.  He hops on his John Deere and, well, let’s let him tell you:
I know I should be hurting
But I’m smiling ear to ear
‘Cause I’m mowin’ down the roses
You planted in our yard
Unfortunately, the young man doesn’t stop there.  He goes in to the house and…
I loaded up your closets into fifteen garbage bags
And I smoked ‘em with your potpourri on a burn pile in the back
This catharsis may be rather mean, but I think Miranda Lambert’s and Carrie Underwood’s revenge songs are more violent, so let’s give the guy a break.  Johnson’s revenge song is more akin to Lambert’s style than Underwood’s.  While there is a bit of rage in them all, Johnson and Lambert use more humor in their lyrics and in the musical delivery.  Johnson’s song sounds like he’s being humorous.  Many revenge songs simply sound angry, like Underwood’s, both in the vocals and the hard-driving music.  Johnson is calm, cool, and collected and the music reflects his approach.  I’m not sure what this young man is thinking though, as you should never, ever touch a woman’s roses.

Jordan Nobles - Chiaroscuro - two compositions for chamber orchestra (Redshift Music)
The two works on this album offer us a portrait of extremes in Jordan Nobles’ output, coming from different time periods with different objectives. Yet even though 15 years separate these pieces, they are unified by common ground rules — namely flexible instrumentation and duration — which have become trademarks of Nobles’ mature music. Pulses (1999) is energetic and rhythmic, tipping the hat to the American minimalist Steve Reich. The work is in a constant state of metric and harmonic modulation, creating dramatic turns from the virtuosic to the dreamlike. By comparison, Chiaroscuro (2014) is an essay on harmonic stasis, meditating on subtly shifting colours, ranges, and articulations: a sonic rendering of the "shadows and light" painting technique from which the piece derives its name. - Mark Takeshi McGregor 1. Kelly Thomas part 5 In June 2012 Michael Reeves, a former employee of the Slidebar Rock-N-Roll Kitchen, filed a lawsuit for wrongful termination against Jeremy Popoff related to the beating. The Slidebar, which is owned by Popoff, the guitarist for the band Lit, was the source of the call that caused police to report to the area and confront Thomas. Reeves, a bouncer at the establishment, made statements to investigators claiming the Slidebar had a policy to do "anything necessary" to keep loiterers out of the area and that his manager lied about Thomas breaking into cars when calling the police to get them to respond more quickly. He further claimed that Thomas was only loitering in the area that night and not causing trouble. Soon after making statements to investigators about what he saw that night he claimed his managers were "furious at him for it" and slowly started taking away his responsibilities, culminating with his firing two months later. Reeves also claimed that Popoff wanted everyone working at the Slidebar to act as if the "Slidebar had nothing to do" with the beating of Thomas, and that his refusal to echo these statements is the chief reason for his firing. The issue was eventually resolved in a settlement. #destroytheday https://www.instagram.com/p/CB3F_2zBkfv/?igshid=jm3gs6m2wh8d

Thank you for the tag and fresh thread Dru <3.
Nickname: Aqua
Zodiac: Taurus (chinese zodiac is wooden ox to make this more hilarious)
Height: probably average, but I feel pretty short
Hogwarts: Team Hufflepuff all the way baby!
Last thing I googled: How to spell “expectantly” >_>
Song stuck in my head: Over my Head by Jeremy Popoff
Lucky numbers: not entirely sure on this honestly
Dream Job: I’m already in it, and supremely lucky to be in that position
Wearing: Blue jeans, striped long-sleeved t-shirt and pink socks with hearts on them
Favorite author: Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Ursula Le Guin, Garth Nix. I read a lot of fantasy alright?
Favorite instrument: Bagpipes with properly dried reeds. People despise this instrument because wet reeds make it screechy :(.
Aesthetic: I honestly have no idea how to answer this one...
Favorite Song: As of right now, it’s probably To the Edge from the FFXIV OST. Of all time, it’s probably Soledad by Westlife.
Favorite Animal Noise: The ‘comfort croaks’ corvids make. I heard the raven one the other day and about died from sheer joy and happiness
Random: Once we can play with people face to face again I am looking forward to obliterating all my friends in Warhammer 40k because 9th edition is very good for Tyranids *evil smile* (it also helps that I have some larger bugs to augment my army with in comparison to 2019).
I reckon I’ll tag @bijouxs for this one
Answer 17 Questions
Thanks for the tag @fairlynnthebosmer :) That sweater sounds hilarious btw
(The OG thread was kinda long, so I figured I’d do a fresh one)

Wearing: Blue jeans, grey vest-top & a NorduNET hoodie I stole from The Gent.

Favorite instrument: Violin, hurdy gurdy, idk if it’s got stings I’m in, male voices
Aesthetic: Mix the woodsy-forestcore stuff with dark academia bookshelves, fires and leather chairs, throw a splash of motor oil on in there, give it a stir with a neon-grunge spoon, heat through with dragon-fire and season with fairy-dust: Then you’ve got a future-punk Hobbit. *waves in future-punk Hobbit*
Favorite Song: According to LastFM, it’s Over My Head by Lit, with a whopping 151 scrobbles over all time.

MegaPick: Colt Ford’s ‘Love Hope Faith’
Colt Ford has been a country music staple since his first release in 2008 and he’s proving, once again, that he’s here to stay with his latest release, Love Hope Faith. He pioneered the spoken word style in country music, a trend we’ve seen replicated by the likes of Sam Hunt, Jake Owen and many others since Ford bust through the scene with Ride Through the Country almost ten years ago. Ford’s albums always feature collaborations with some of country music’s biggest stars as well as its most promising newcomers and Love Hope Faith is no different.
For this collection of songs, Ford is joined by notable country stars Tyler Farr, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, Granger Smith and brothers Charles Kelley (of Lady Antebellum) and Josh Kelley. In regards to newcomers, Taylor Ray Holbrook, Waterloo Revival, Javier Colon Rizzi Myers and Granger Smith all join Ford on songs. The tracks were written by some of Nashville’s powerhouse songwriters including Jesse Frasure, Jeffrey Steele, Rodney Clawson and David Lee Murphy. Ford himself co-wrote three of the album’s thirteen tracks.

Colt Ford’s Album Love Hope Faith
The intrigue of Ford’s albums has always been that even though the tracks stylistically follow a different format than your typical country song, they don't lack substance and relatable topics. Love Hope Faith features multiple tracks that will surely resonate with country music fans from all walks of life. “Bad Day” featuring Rizzi Myers deals with the the struggles of alcoholism and a broken heart. “Young Americans” featuring Charles & Josh Kelley is a down home anthem about the realness of being young and living life in a small town. There’s plenty of fun on the album, too. Case in point is “Time Flies” with Toby Keith. One listen and we’ve all found our new favorie drinking song!
Perhaps our favorite tracks on the album are the ones where Ford appears by himself. “4 Lane Gone” is infectious and features incredibly strong vocals from Ford on a slower tempo song. “Dirt Road Disco,” written by Jaren Johnston, Neil Mason and Jesse Frasure features an arrangement and lyrics that is so genuinely on point for Ford’s brand of country music, the song had to have been written with him in mind. A disco beat and a dirt road story… if anyone can do it and make us all love it, its Colt Ford.
Colt Ford, Love Hope Faith Track Listing:
1. “Reload” feat. Taylor Ray Holbrook (Jared Sciullo, Charlie Farley, Austin Jenckes) 2. “Dynamite” feat. Waterloo Revival (Eric Dodd, Alex Hall) 3. “Young Americans” feat. Charles and Josh Kelley (Jared Sciullo, John Purdue, Renee Myers, Austin Webb) 4. “Dirt Road Disco” (Jaren Johnston, Neil Mason, Jesse Frasure) 5. “4 Lane Gone” (Kyle Fishman, Houston Phillips, Josh Thompson) 6. “My Truck” feat. Tyler Farr (Colt Ford, Jeremy Popoff, Dennis Hill, Gary Wright) 7. “Lookin’ for a Hand Out” feat. Brad Paisley (Colt Ford, Jeff Hyde) 8. “Time Flies” feat. Toby Keith (Colt Ford, Justin David) 9. “No Rest” feat. Javier Colon (Walker Hayes, Thomas Archer, Marshall Altman) 10. “I’m Mud” feat. Lit (Charley Farley, Daniel Lee) 11. “Bad Day” feat. Rizzi Myers (Jeffrey Steele, Jeremy Popoff, Shane Minor, Vicky McGehee) 12. “Drunk Girl” (Trent Tomlinson, Jimmy Richie, Ed Hill) 13. “Keepin’ It Real” feat. Granger Smith (Rodney Clawson, Chris Tompkins, David Lee Murphy)
