"I Think I Love You" is a song performed by the fictional Partridge Family and written by Tony Romeo as the debut single for the TV show. Vocals were performed by cast members (and real life stepson & stepmom) David Cassidy and Shirley Jones, who played Keith and Shirley Partridge. The single topped Billboard's Hot 100 for three weeks and later was certified as the best-selling single of 1970, with four million copies sold.
The song was featured twice on the TV show during the record's seven-week climb to number one on the charts. Cassidy and Jones lip-synched their performances for the cameras (as they did for all songs throughout the four-year series.)  As with all of the Partridge Family's studio output, the single features musicians associated with iconic Los Angeles-based session players "the Wrecking Crew".

The Partridge Family ran from September 25, 1970, until March 23, 1974, on ABC.
Shirley Jones as Shirley Partridge
David Cassidy as Keith Partridge
Susan Dey as Laurie Partridge
Danny Bonaduce as Danny Partridge
Suzanne Crough as Tracy Partridge
Jeremy Gelbwaks as Chris Partridge - season 1 (with brown hair)
Brian Forster as Chris Partridge - seasons 2–4 (with blonde hair)
The 1970s wasn’t a particularly good year for fashion. Young men’s clothes (especially the costumes for David Cassidy) were atrocious.
Here’s an interesting footnote about the Partridge Family from Wikipedia:
“On the show's soundtrack and records, none of the actors actually played the indicated instruments, and only Shirley Jones and David Cassidy sang. The actors pretended while listening to recordings by session musicians who provided the real vocal and instrumental music attributed to The Partridge Family.”

The Partridges
Morning of September 18, 2021. Saturday.
        Dream #: 19,997-03. 45 sec read.
Tumblr media
Throughout this long dream, seemingly "out of nowhere," I spend time with some of the members of "The Partridge Family." (In waking life, I had several issues of the comic book.)
Interestingly, I never realized (or recalled) that more than one child actor had played Christopher Partridge. In my dream, though, it seems to be Brian Forster (rather than Jeremy Gelbwaks).
Mostly, I spend time with Chris (Brian), Tracy (Suzanne Crough), and Shirley Partridge (Shirley Jones). The others appear a couple of times. I am in La Crosse with no recall of my current waking-life identity or status.
Marilyn (half-sister on my mother's side) appears in some scenes. We talk about their celebrity status. (My dream self has no recall she had died.) The Partridge Family members seem to live in different houses, though it may be that they are only visiting other people as I walk around with them.
Why the Partridge Family? Why now? It is likely because the number of children is the same as my family (three sons and two daughters). Not only that, their ages are close to the age range of each of my children.
