A couple of years ago I had the privilege--because it was a privilege--of translating Jeff Zentner’s The Serpent King, and now I finally got around reading one of his other books, Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee, and oh my. It might be because I’ve read some truly bad books lately, but this was something else--raw and painful and honest and funny and absurd and freakishly quotable. And here are some of my favorite lines:

Being around him feels like waking up on a Saturday morning when the whole day ahead of you is free and you've slept the perfect amount, and your bed is the most ideal temperature, it's like you're part of an experiment in human comfort. the quote you used for your last nick gifset was so swoony romantic and gorgeous. i don't know anything about the author you linked but i just put the book on hold at my library.

anon, you have no idea how happy this makes me! jeff zentner is one of my absolute favorite YA authors. he's lived an interesting life and is a lover of poetry, like myself, which is heavily reflected in his writing. If you can't get In the Wild Light at your library right away, I also highly recommend The Serpent King.
