The Ultimate Guide to Finding Chrysler 300 and Jeep Spare Parts in Your Area
Access to good spares is very critical for maintenance and improvement of your Chrysler 300 or Jeep. Only proper parts can guarantee vehicle performance, life, and safety, whether it be a Chrysler 300, a Chrysler 300C, or even a Jeep. This guide will help you in the world of Chrysler 300 spares, Chrysler 300C spares, Chrysler 300 parts for sale, Chrysler 300 spare parts, Chrysler 300C breakers, Chrysler 300C parts for sale, Chrysler 300C spare parts, Chrysler parts for sale, and finding Jeep spare parts near you.
The Need to Use Genuine Spare Parts
Genuine spare parts are important for a number of reasons:
Because they are tailor-made for your vehicle, you can get the best performance out of your vehicle. Safety: Genuine parts meet all the manufacturer's safety standards. Durability: Authentic parts are more durable and will, therefore, save you much more in the long run. Searching for Chrysler 300 Spares and Chrysler 300C Spares For all owners of Chrysler 300, getting the right spare parts is what would keep their car on the right road to its feel of luxury with exciting powerful performance. Here's what you need to know:
Look for reputed dealers who can sell you a slew of different Chrysler 300 parts. Online marketplaces and stores that specialize in auto parts generally maintain large inventories.
Chrysler 300 Spare Parts: Check to find out if the spare parts are genuine and if they have a warranty attached. This will guarantee the reliability as well as the compatibility of the part for your vehicle.
Chrysler 300C Breakers: Breakers yards, otherwise known as auto dismantlers, are godsend in getting those elusive parts. Businesses involved in this area reclaim usable parts from damaged vehicles and sell them at a fraction of new component prices.
Chrysler 300C Parts for Sale: If you are going to look for parts, consider brand-new ones and recon ones. Recon parts provide the same good quality at substantially lower prices.
Chrysler 300C Spare Parts: Many run-of-the-mill servicing replacement items like filters, brakes, and suspension parts are easily available and do need to be replaced with the real thing to preserve the integrity of a vehicle.
Chrysler Parts for Sale: Casting a Wider Search
Beyond a particular Chrysler 300 or 300C, casting an even wider net on general Chrysler parts for sale can still be helpful:
Online Retailers: eBay and Amazon often have listings for new and used Chrysler parts.
Specialist Sites: Those dealing in specifically Chrysler parts will have more focused inventories and at times offer expert advice.
Local Auto Parts Stores: By going to a local store, a person has the chance to inspect the parts before buying to ensure that the standards set for the parts are fit.
Jeep Spare Parts Near Me: Finding Quality Components
A Jeep owner should understand that his vehicle needs strong, reliable parts for off-road exploring and daily driving. The question now is how to get high-quality Jeep spare parts near you:
Local Dealerships: Factory-authorized Jeep dealerships can directly order parts in for you from the manufacturer. Sometimes a bit more on the expensive side but you can be absolutely sure it is an original type replacement part.
Auto Parts Chains: AutoZone and NAPA Auto Parts are just two examples of auto parts retailers with large inventories of Jeep parts. They can also special order most items they don't normally carry.
Specialty Jeep Shops: Still, other shops work strictly with Jeeps, offering both new and used parts with related installation service.
Online Communities: If searching for any spare parts, jeep forums and Facebook groups can help in finding them by recommending where to buy locally.
Dodge Spare Parts Near Me: Ensuring Compatibility
For the owners of Dodge, particularly the high performance variants, the correct spare parts are the only way to ensure the vehicle capabilities are retained :
Dodge Dealerships: Just like Jeep, franchised dealerships have a guaranteed supply of genuine parts.
Performance Shops: These are for high-performance vehicles and can offer both stock and aftermarket; Online Marketplaces: The sites specific to spare Dodge parts normally have well-developed directories in which you are likely to get the exact part that you desire.
Tips on Buying Spare Parts
Research: Know what you want and whether it can work well on your model.
Compare Prices: Do not be carried away by the first price given. Compare between different options.
Check reviews, which might help in building an understanding of the reliability of the seller and quality of the parts.
Warranty: Make sure that warranty or guarantee comes with the parts.
Maintaining your Chrysler 300, Chrysler 300C, Jeep, or Dodge needs one to have access to reliable spare parts. Only knowing exactly where and what to look out for may keep your vehicle in top condition. Be it spares for Chrysler 300, Chrysler 300C, Chrysler parts for sale, or Jeep and Dodge spare parts in your area, these steps will help track down the best spares that serve your needs to a tee. Call to mind the fact that genuine parts mean long-lasting service and high performance of the vehicle.

ice-cold revelations - modern!cregan stark x fem!velaryon!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You are in a risky secret relationship with your brother's best friend. What happens when Cregan's unexpected injury exposes your feelings? Well, isn't there somebody you forgot to ask?
Disclaimer: English isn't my first language!
Word count: 2.8k
The wind tore through the streets with a biting ferocity, tugging at (Y/N)’s skirt and making her instantly regret both her outfit choice and this entire trip to the bus stop.
“Stupid winter has to be coming,” she muttered, yanking a colorful scarf up to cover her nose. Her phone chimed in her pocket, vibrating with the familiar sound of a new message. She fumbled with one hand to pull it out, her fingers stiff from the cold.
🐺: jace wouldn’t stop bugging me about that earring under my bed
🐺: i convinced him sara must’ve left it when she crashed at our place lmao
(Y/N) raised her eyebrows, her breath fogging the air as she sighed. The last thing she needed was her brother playing the part of a suspicious rom-com wife, finding random jewelry in odd places and jumping to conclusions. At least he hadn’t figured out where he’d seen that earring before.
Jacaerys Velaryon, as much as she adored him, had a habit of being a little too protective. He was always there when she needed him. But he was also the kind of brother who, despite being only a few minutes older, seemed to think that fact gave him full control over her dating life. Any guy who so much as glanced her way was either a potential threat or one of his friends. And friends were off-limits. Too much drama, he’d say. Too awkward if things went south. Even more awkward if things somehow worked out. Conflict of interest. Absolutely not.
Which was precisely why, in the grand scheme of things, the most logical solution was for her to start dating his best friend and his hockey team captain, Cregan Stark.
Cregan was wonderful. The kind of guy who would do anything for her, no questions asked. That's what had brought them to where they were now. Hiding their relationship from her dramatic brother and quite literally gaslighting him.
Did she feel guilty? Absolutely. Did she know it would be a hundred times worse if Jace found out? Also yes.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sight of a bus speeding past the stop, tires screeching as it flew by. Her bus. Of course.
With impressive force, she pressed the green phone icon.
“Hey, sweetheart. What’s up?” Cregan answered in three seconds. Her irritation melted a little at the sound of his deep voice. Down bad.
“Hey, did you guys finish practice?”
“Yeah, just now, I couldn’t cut the boys any slack before tomorrow.”
“Any chance the strict captain could give me a ride home? I missed the bus. Or more like the bus missed me.”
“You’re kidding,” Cregan said, sympathy already thick in his voice. “Of course I’ll come get you.” He paused for a beat, then cleared his throat. “Only thing is… Jace wanted a ride too.”
“The gods are punishing me today,” she groaned.
“Call him. It'll be the same ride. Just, you know, he'll think it was his idea,” Cregan suggested.
“Are we bad people, Cregan?” she asked, half-serious now.
“Nah. He’ll find out eventually, just better if I’m in full hockey gear when it happens.”
“Fair enough,” she said, the corner of her mouth lifting in a smile. “Thanks. Love you. Bye.”
She hung up and immediately dialed her brother, requesting the same exact thing.
“Sure, you owe me one though,” he said cheerfully. “I don’t have my car today, so we’ll have to go with Stark. Is that a problem?”
“Nope.” No, her boyfriend wouldn’t be a problem.
(Y/N) Velaryon paced back and forth under the shelter of the bus stop, her boots crunching against the thin layer of frost that had already formed on the pavement. She rubbed her arms, trying to keep the cold at bay, when the familiar growl of a black Jeep Wrangler cut through the quiet. It rolled to a stop near the curb.
She jogged toward the car, her breath puffing out in small clouds, as the driver’s window slid down.
“Your chariot awaits, princess,” Cregan announced with a mock flourish.
“More like a toad,” Jace quipped from the passenger seat, his grin unmistakable.
“One more word and you’ll get my bag to the head. I’ve got half my textbooks in there,” she threatened playfully as she slid into the backseat.
The backseat of this car had witnessed many events, and that was the first thought that crossed her mind. One look at Cregan in the side mirror, and she knew he was thinking the same.
She pretended to be very engrossed in buckling her seatbelt.
“How was practice?” she asked out of politeness.
“Not bad. Stark was all business today, but it was necessary. Big day tomorrow,” Jace replied, fiddling with the radio. Cregan slapped his hand away as he slowed down for a red light.
“Great,” the girl muttered, not trusting her tongue around the two of them together.
An awkward silence fell, broken only by some random song. How long can a red light last?
“So, (Y/N),” Cregan began, drumming his fingers on the steering wheel. His voice wavered, but Jace was in his own world, watching pedestrians crossing the street. “How’s it going? How was your day?”
“Pretty good,” she replied, playing with the hem of her skirt. “Though the classes dragged on.”
The devil on her shoulder won an uneven fight with the weak angel. She smirked.
“‘M absolutely knackered.”
Cregan inhaled slowly through his nose.
“Dude, it’s green,” Jace informed him, just before the car behind them honked.
“I can see,” Cregan reassured him, finally moving forward. “I’ll need your sister’s address since I’ve never been there before.”
If Jace had one more brain cell, he wouldn’t be so easily fooled.
“Sure thing,” her brother agreed, typing the info into the GPS on his phone. “Hey, kid, are you coming to the game tomorrow?”
“How many times do I have to tell you not to call me that?” (Y/N) asked angrily, kicking his seat. “Baela’s taking me.”
“You know what I think?” Jace started, spreading his arms dramatically. “A girlfriend in the stands is such a power boost. Such a boost… I never play as well as when Baela supports me from the bleachers.”
“You never play well,” His sister muttered under her breath, but Jacaerys was currently listening only to himself.
“Cregan wouldn’t get it,” He patted Cregan on the shoulder in the meantime. “If you combined your skills with that support, if you brought a girl, trust me, your performance would be a hundred times better.”
“Talented people don’t need superstitions to play well, Jace,” (Y/N) chimed in, leaning forward. “Besides, Cregan is single.”
“Because he’s too serious and broody, girls don’t like that,” her brother declared in a know-it-all voice. She gave him a side-eye. “He is afraid of women.”
“Are you afraid of women, Stark?” she asked seriously, barely holding back laughter.
Cregan shot her a look in the mirror, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Terrified,” he deadpanned. “That’s why I’m thinking maybe your sister should be my good luck charm tomorrow. Just as a friend, of course.”
“Eh, it’s not the same,” Jace protested, scrunching his face.
“Don’t you believe in the power of friendship?” the driver asked with full seriousness.
“Can I get a jersey with your number?” (Y/N) batted her lashes playfully at her boyfriend.
A jersey with his number was already hanging in her closet.
“Alright, you’ll see, you need deeper feelings for it to work, otherwise it just won’t…”
Jacaerys continued his monologue all the way to her apartment. The girl sighed with relief once she was back in her room, the familiarity of it a welcome escape from the tension.
Two new messages.
🐺: you looked so pretty today
🐺: but next time wear a damn coat, or you’ll catch a cold!!!
Tumblr media
The fluorescent light above (Y/N)’s head flickered ominously, casting creepy shadows across the cramped janitor’s closet. She swore that if the bulb died completely, she'd either pee her pants or spiral into a full-blown claustrophobic meltdown. Leaning back against the wall, she tried to focus on the neatly arranged rows of brooms and mops. Soon, the door creaked open, revealing Cregan in all his glory.
Full hockey gear? Check. Helmet? Tucked under his arm. That goofy, ridiculous smile? Definitely check.
“You look so good,” she admitted, grabby hands already in the air. “Come here.”
Cregan shut the door behind him with a soft click, casting a glance at the flickering light overhead. He sighed, took one of her hands, and kissed her wrist softly.
“We have to tell your brother,” Stark said, his voice serious as he placed his helmet on the wooden shelf beside them. “It’s not right that my girl has to sneak me a good-luck kiss in a smelly closet. You should be able to strut right into the locker room.”
His girl grinned. “You’ve got your gear on,” she pointed out. “We can tell him after the game. Besides, Baela’s softening him up for us. I asked her to.”
Baela Targaryen was known for sniffing out secrets, and the second she spotted (Y/N) wearing Cregan’s jersey before the game, she didn’t even need to ask. Her knowing look said it all, and within minutes, Velaryon girl spilled the truth, enduring Baela’s delighted squeal that had probably echoed for miles.
“I knew you had high standards, girl. Going straight for the captain!” Baela teased, laughing. “Jace obviously doesn’t know? He hasn’t said anything... and Stark’s still breathing.”
Thankfully, Baela had been more than willing to help, distracting Jace so Cregan could sneak away after the pre-game pep talk. Now, Cregan was looking at (Y/N) with pride, his eyes lingering on the jersey she wore.
“She’s a real one for that,” he mused. “But seriously, we have to tell him. I want a picture of us on my lock screen, and that asshole keeps looking over my shoulder.”
She laughed, pulling him closer and kissing him hard, savoring the way his rough stubble tickled her skin.
“For now,” she murmured against his lips, “just focus on the game. You’re incredible. An amazing captain. And it’s going to go great. I believe in you.”
Cregan grinned, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “Maybe one more kiss. Just to make sure we win.”
“The power of having a girl in the stands,” she teased, poking his chest playfully.
“Jace definitely exaggerated that theory,” Cregan confessed with a chuckle. “But honestly... I’m just glad you’re here.”
With butterflies in her stomach and a grin she couldn’t wipe off her face, (Y/N) found herself in the stands minutes later, sitting next to Baela. Her friend was watching the silent exchange of glances between her and Cregan with thinly veiled amusement.
“I always knew Jace was blind, but this is just tragic,” Baela remarked, elbowing her in the ribs. Jace, oblivious as ever, waved enthusiastically from the rink. Both girls waved back, cheering with the crowd.
“You’ll boo with me when the Dornish Spears come out, right?” (Y/N) asked.
Baela gave her a mock-serious look. “Technically, we shouldn’t. Obviously, I will,” she promised.
The game was fast, brutal, and nearly deadlocked until the very end. (Y/N) had never yelled so much in her life, though her shouts were lost in the deafening roar of the crowd. Cregan played like a man possessed, commanding the ice with his usual grace. At least twenty times during the match, she found herself holding her breath, her heart leaping into her throat with every risky play. But she knew he had it under control. He always did.
Of course they won.
The victory rippled through the stands like a wave, and (Y/N) screamed herself hoarse as the crowd erupted around her. Cregan pulled off his helmet, his eyes scanning the stands until he found her. His smile—tired and breathtaking—was for her, and her alone. She didn’t regret the ringing in her ears or the scratch in her throat for a second. Moments later, he was swept up in a sea of celebrating teammates.
“Girl, are you crying?” Baela asked, pulling her into a hug.
“I don’t know,” She sniffled. “I’m just emotional. I just like that boy so fucking much, Bae.”
“I know, honey. Come on, they’re heading off the ice. Let’s congratulate them, and then have a crazy party or something. No time for tears.”
Cregan was one of the last players to leave the ice, trailing just behind Jace. But before he could step off, the captain of the opposing team, his face twisted with anger, skated up to him. For a moment, it looked like they might talk it out. But then, it all happened too fast.
The player from Dorne shoved Cregan hard against the wall. Stark, ever the calm one, simply raised his hands in a peaceful gesture.
And then he took a fist to the face. The sickening sound of bone cracking echoed across the rink.
“What the hell is going on? Jace!” Baela shouted, holding her friend back as she tried to rush forward.
Jace jumped back onto the ice, but by the time he got there, the other team had pulled their enraged captain away. Cregan stumbled off the ice just as (Y/N) reached him.
“Are you okay? Oh gods, let me see,” she fretted, her hands hovering near his face.
“What a fucking jerk!” Jace nearly screamed, skidding to a stop by the exit. “I called for help, they’ll be here in a second.”
(Y/N) carefully moved Cregan’s hand away, revealing the damage. His face was a swollen mess, his nose clearly broken.
“Do you think they’ll make me lie face-down on the ice?” Cregan joked weakly, leaning on her for support.
“Does it hurt a lot? Maybe you should sit down. Oh shit, I can’t believe—”
“Hey, sweetheart. Calm down,” Cregan murmured, his voice soothing despite the pain. “It hurts like hell, but I’ll live.”
Just then, the medic arrived, momentarily distracting Jace. But despite the chaos, he had clearly heard what Cregan just said. For a moment, Jace stood there, his face pale as the words and the image before him sank in.
“Sweetheart?” he echoed softly, but no one paid him any attention.
“Jace, maybe now’s not the time,” Baela said gently, stepping up beside him.
“I feel physically sick,” Jace muttered, staggering to the railing for support.
The medic handed Cregan an ice pack. “Hold this to your face for a bit. I’ll get you something for the pain right away, but a doctor’s gonna have to set that nose.”
Cregan winced but smiled through it. “You might wanna check on my friend first,” he said, gesturing toward Jace. “I can wait. He looks like he’s about to pass out.”
Jace did, in fact, end up passing out.
Tumblr media
Cregan had to take a break from sports after that little adventure. He’d recovered, but now sported a slightly crooked nose—something his girlfriend found oddly hot.
(Y/N) saw his temporary recovery as the perfect chance to manipulate him into watching Teen Wolf with her every evening. After all, the title worked in her favor.
They were nestled on the couch, wrapped together in a soft gray blanket. It was their first time lounging in the living room of the apartment Cregan shared with her brother, rather than hiding behind the securely locked door of his bedroom.
It would be perfect, really. If it weren’t for Jace’s constant, deliberate trips to the kitchen and bathroom, each one an obvious reminder that he was keeping an eye on them.
“Dear Jacaerys,” (Y/N) said, her patience wearing thin, “you do know we don’t need a chaperone, right?”
Jace barely paused, shooting her a sidelong glance before muttering, “You need someone to knock the stupid ideas out of your heads,” as he slammed the bathroom door.
Cregan chuckled softly, pulling her closer. “Give him some time,” he whispered, pressing a kiss to her temple. “To be honest, I thought it would be worse. He’ll come around eventually.”
They’d already gone through several long, tension-filled conversations, with Baela stepping in as the voice of reason when things got too heated. They were careful now, avoiding anything that might provoke Jace further.
But Cregan was right—Jace was slowly coming around, even if he was still stubborn. The days of silent treatment had finally passed.
“This is on us for hiding things from him,” (Y/N) sighed, watching her brother embark on yet another purposeful long journey to the kitchen. “No more secrets now.”
“Your brother’s just looking out for you,” Cregan called out, raising his voice slightly so Jace could hear. “He doesn’t want anything bad to happen to you, and I respect that. I don’t know anyone else who cares like he does.”
Jace stopped, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed, eyes narrowed. His lips curved into a sweet, mischievous grin.
“Yeah,” he began, drawing out the word. “So tell me sister, when are you introducing him to Mom?”

Waiting🖤 Part.2
Summary: After decades of being alone without a love of his own he finally finds her in a gloomy town of forks, his brother Edward isn’t the only lucky one
Pairing: Emmett Cullen x f! Swan reader
Warning: angsty, fluffy sunshine Emmett
Part.1
•Masterlist•
Tumblr media
Friday came and I was a nervous wreck, I didn’t care to tell Bella or dad about this seeing as Bella has already distanced herself from me and I didn’t wanna get dads hopes up, sitting in math class, the last class of the day I kept glancing at the clock ticking closer and closer to the final bell, trying to distract myself I delved back into the worksheet infront of me, soon enough the bell rang and my heart jumped
Anxiously I threw everything into my bag and left the school straight to the parking lot, where Emmett was leaned against his silver jeep, when his eyes landed on me that bright smile stretch across his face making his amber eyes shine
“Hey gorgeous you ready for the best night of your life?” I could feel the heat rush to my face only making his smirk widen
“Not like that y/n, not yet anyways, come on hop in” he said as he held the door open for me, quickly getting in the drivers seat next to me
“Sooo um what’re we doing?”
“Thought we could go hiking, maybe get out of the cloud bank into some sunlight”
“I love hiking! Sounds like fun” finally relaxing knowing now it’s something I’m use to doing
He drove for a while out of forks to a near by hiking trail not commonly used by the public, we got out and started our journey
“So tell me a bit about yourself Angel” he said breaking the silence
“Well there’s not much to know, I’ve lived here my whole life, my sister and mom left when I was young so it’s just been me and my dad, I became homeschooled until now and I usually just read and do homework”
“Not a big social butterfly I assume?”
“Not really, what about you? Tell me everything!”
“Well I have 4 adopted siblings, Jasper, Alice, Rosalie and Edward, you’ll love Alice she’s the sweetest, I like getting out into the forest, love music and working out”
“Yeah I can tell” I smiled glancing at his bulging muscles under his long sleeve shirt
“Woah she’s got some fire in her after all” he laughed nudging my arm
“What can I say you bring it out of me” his hand grazed against mine until he went for it and intertwined his fingers through mine
“Why so nervous pretty girl? Do I fluster you?”
“Maybe, I’ve never really done stuff like this but it’s nice” I saw his features soften as he looked down at me and gently squeezed my hand
“Really? A beautiful thing like yourself, I’m surprised you don’t have boys on their knees begging for your attention”
“I think you have me mixed up with my sister” I laughed nervously
“And who might that be because I don’t even need to see her to know your beauty is beyond anything of this world”
“Emmett stop you’re just trying to make me blush, and my sister is Bella, Bella swan she’s new to the school” he stopped dead in his tracks with a shocked expression
“Bella is your sister, like your actual sister?”
“So you already know her, not a surprise”
“No it’s not that, my brother Edward has been after her since she came at the start of the week, kind of funny how two brothers can like two sisters, but I must say I got the more beautiful”
“You’re too sweet Em, I can’t believe she hasn’t said anything”
“Edward is a very awkward secretive guy I’m sure Bella is the same way maybe that’s why she hasn’t said anything”
“Can’t say you’re wrong”
He looked me up and down trying to judge something, curious
“Do you trust me?”
“I only just meet you but yeah, I do”
In an instant he flung me over his back so I was clung to him like a monkey
“Hold on tight sunshine” everything flew by in a blur, there was no shape to anything with the speed he was going, but however he was doing this it didn’t scare me or make me wonder what the hell was happening, I actually felt at peace
Soon enough he stopped as we cleared the cloud bank and the sun was beaming, he placed me gently back down on my feet and turned around, his skin was like a million tiny crystals, I was in awe by how much more beautiful he became
“Are you scared?” He asked as his face scrunch with worry
I raised my hand and traced down his cheek feeling his hard cold skin
“No quite the opposite, you’re beautiful Emmett”
“Don’t you wanna know what I am?” He asked placing his hands on my hips
“Whatever you are I’d never judge, I feel you’d never hurt me so I don’t care what you are”
“How did I get so lucky” he stated as he lifted me like I weighed a feather, wrapping my legs around his waist
“What do you mean?”
“Us vampires have mates and the moment you bumped into me in the hallways I knew you were mine, the one I’m meant to spend the rest of my life with”
“But why me, you could have anybody”
“You’re everything I’ll ever need, I wish you could see yourself the way I see you Angel, and I’ll spend the rest of eternity showing you how amazing you are”
My heart swelled with the most love I’ve ever felt and I’m lucky enough to finally find the one who will brighten my life

Tumblr media
pairing: Simon "Ghost" Riley x fem!reader words: 2.3k tags: death. blood. zombies of course. AFAB reader. single dad ghost. there will be sex but it isn't here yet. slow burn!!! enemies to lovers. summary: After losing your companions, you run into a skull-masked man and his daughter. They are your last hope for survival. a/n: this chapter kicked my butt. thanks for the patience~
An ear-splitting gunshot bites the ground near your boot, close enough to feel the heat simmer through the worn leather. It takes everything in you not to freeze in terror. You grab Blue and run.
Adrenaline kicks into high gear once again, but with her dead weight and your lack of strength, you know you can't get far. You manage to tumble behind a stack of rusted bins just as another round fires.
Blue clings to you. "He's following us!"
Your heart sinks as your fingers reach for your bow— you left it.
"Give me your gun," you sputter quickly.
She shoves the unfamiliar weapon in your hands. A tremble consumes your body as you peek over the barrel to find your target. For a second, you see your attacker as he passes by one of the jeeps. A young man no older than yourself.
Without hesitation, you close an eye and go for his heart, but the bullet grazes the top of his shoulder with a spray of blood. Used to a bow, you aimed too high.
He barks out a swear and then lifts his rifle in retaliation. Before he can shoot, a Grey bursts through the window of the jeep, clamping down on his neck. His throat turns to gore. The gun falls from his grip as screams of pain quickly turn to muffled groans.
Relief and horror pound through your veins. That was close. Too close. You have to get Blue out of here. But how—
There is no chance to decide. Suddenly, she screams again. You whip around to meet the slash of a long knife and the flush of cold air as your coat is torn. Someone has snuck up behind you. You fumble with the gun but the attacker knocks it out of your hand, then fists your hair hard enough to make your scalp burn. It happens so fast. You can't even get a good look at him— only the wild stare of his eyes and the strength of his stature. Whoever these people are, they are certainly better fed than that man in the woods.
You thrash against him, hurling saliva at his face. Apparently, he didn't expect that because he hisses, "Fuck."
You use the distraction to grab your own knife, the only weapon on you, and blindly drive it into the taut muscle of his thigh. He howls, letting go of your hair, and you slip away just enough to dodge the next swipe of his blade.
The fight is short-lived. You've grown stronger, but not enough to fight a man. He is skilled and bulky. Your attempts to hit him are futile. His knife catches you in the forehead, sending a curtain of blood down your face, and he grabs hold of your hair once again.
"Gonna cut your throat first," he murmurs, low and gravelly. "Then your little lamb's."
He will kill you. Then her. You can't let him. You won't. Something animalistic takes hold of you. You do the only thing left you can think of— bite. Hard. The sickening taste of human flesh and hot blood fills your mouth as you rip out a chunk of his nose.
"You bitch!"
He clutches his oozing face. Blue shouts at you, her finger jutting toward something— the Grey. Done with its first meal, it draws toward the scent of fresh blood. Before your attacker can recover, you throw all your weight at him, which isn't much, but it is enough to make him lose his footing and veer into the Grey's path. It grabs hold and sinks another bite into his face.
Suddenly, two more gunshots ring out. One to the Grey's head, and the other through the man's eye. Both bodies flop dead to the ground. Before you can panic, a wild-eyed Ghost returns in long strides.
"Blue!" he bellows.
"Dad!" she yells back.
He heads straight for her, quickly dipping down to check her bandaged leg and search for any other wounds. Fear has forced her eyes to stay open, her body stiff and alert. There is a wet stain at the crotch of her jeans.
"They tried to kill us," she cries.
“I'm here, baby. I won't leave you again.”
You wipe the blood off your face and glance around, panting so hard your lungs hurt. The air reeks of carnage and gunpowder, but the firing has ceased.
"They attacked us," you speak in a raw shout. “Two of them. Did you— Are the rest gone?"
He nods. "Could be more nearby. Let's get out of here before we find out."
He slings the rifle over his shoulder and scoops up Blue without an ounce of the effort it took for you to do so.
He moves fast. Retrieving your bow, you push hard to keep up with him.
Twilight tints the sky purple. You make it past the fence and zig-zag through the medical tents when movement catches your eye again.
"Ghost, to the right!" you scream.
You knock an arrow onto the string, aiming for the distant figure. But the movement multiplies, more shadows lurking towards you with uneven gaits. Not people. Greys. The realization forms a pit in your stomach.
"They can fucking smell us," you choke out.
"Hit the faster ones!"
Arrow after arrow, you aim for the ones that move with the stamina of a more recently infected. To your right. To your left. Ghost carries Blue with one arm and shoots with his handgun. More and more crawl out like cockroaches, no doubt catching a whiff of the blood that stains all three of you.
Two built like linebackers run wildly up to Ghost from either direction. He shoots one, while the other grabs him by the shoulder. You launch an arrow at its skull, your aim more precise now that you're not shooting bullets, and it lets go of him with a squeal.
When the trees grow thicker, it becomes harder to see them. Despair pushes a cry up your throat when you slap a hand back to your quiver and feel two arrows left.
A slippery mix of mud and leaves suddenly takes you down to the ground, your knees landing on a hard tree root. You swear under your breath, fumbling to get back up, when a Grey you hadn't noticed behind you lunges on top, slamming you back down. Pain shoots through your ribs as you frantically roll around, thrusting a forearm against its throat to avoid its opened mouth and kicking your knees into its chest. Then, a fiery bullet lodges into its forehead, the Grey going limp on top of you with a splatter of brains and coagulated fluid.
"Get up, Twix!" Ghost barks.
You shove the body off and scramble to your feet, legs feeling like jelly, but you force them to keep running.
You whip a brief look behind you.
"There's too many— I'm almost out of arrows!"
"The river," Ghost throws over his shoulder. "Those fucks can't swim."
You realize his idea when the roar of water greets your ears. Ghost doesn't hesitate to sprint onto the rusty rebar, slipping his gun away to hold Blue with both arms.
You follow behind, forcing your eyes on the bank ahead as you slow down to keep balance. All you have to do is get across and the river will take care of the rest. Heartbeats pound in your skull, each step requiring an unfathomable amount of focus that you struggle to muster. You're about halfway there when you hear the splash of Greys falling in, and a brief glance below causes your footing to falter.
This time you fail to grab the beam.
Cold water envelops you like a million needles.
A mouthful of water burns down your throat, and for a moment, you can't move. Can't breathe. Everything spins around you. It's not until your feet collide with something hard - the bottom of the riverbed - that your brain registers what's happening and you kick out to propel yourself up.
You break the surface for a gulp of air before the current pulls your head back under. Your arms flail around in search of something to grab. Just when you latch onto what feels like a log, a hand seizes your ankle with a hungered screech. You slam your foot back, over and over, more water filling your mouth as you struggle to kick the Grey and hold on at the same time.
Finally, the rotten skull caves in and the current sucks it away. With your leg freed, you haul yourself up the log toward the edge of the river. You begin climbing up the cliffside, using the twisted roots as footholds, your hands digging into caked soil. You're almost to the top, but you feel numb and weak. So weak. You can't find anything else to grab. The wet sole of your boot begins to slip.
"Grab on!"
A gloved hand stretches down. Ghost is crouched above, Blue now on his back so can he lean over. You grip his hand and he pulls you up, until you collapse on the ground, wet and shivering.
You cough up water and bile.
"Bloody fucking hell.”
It's been a while since you've thought about dying. You've made it this far, instinct always taking the reins and pushing you onward. But now, as the reality of the cold, wet clothes clinging to you sets in, you consider asking Ghost to just shoot you. It would be quicker than freezing to death, and a much better fate than drowning or turning Grey. At least you know Blue will be safe now.
Before you can form the words, you hear the shuffling of fabric. A jacket, a beanie. Set on the ground beside you.
"Take off your clothes. Put these on."
The rest turns into a dream. You don't remember putting the clothes on, or standing up and moving your heavy limbs. You don't remember getting to the hunter's cabin, but the next thing you know, you are curled up on the floorboards beside a small fire, inhaling the musky smell of Ghost's oversized jacket, with the blanket you brought tucked around your bare legs. You don't feel cold anymore. Your head pounds. You can hear the steady rhythm of your heart, slow but present. Behind you somewhere, Ghost tends to Blue. You know this because you hear him whisper to her as her sobs are muffled by biting onto a shirt. Amelia, Amelia, he says to her. A name you've never heard before. He must be cleaning the wound, the pain of it causing her to thrash and kick. Then, the sounds fade, and you know she is asleep.
When your eyes finally tear away from the flames, you spot Ghost hunched over, lifting up his shirt. Dark blood and ink stain pale skin.
"You were shot?"
His eyes snap up. He regards you for a moment, and it is now you notice that most of the white of his mask has been stained with red from his kills.
"Knife," he says.
You don't know why you offer, or why he silently accepts. Somehow you end up knelt beside him, your cracked fingertips cleaning the puncture wound in his torso without a single word exchanged. It's not deep enough to need stitches. You clear the blood and dab on antiseptic. The only sign he feels any pain is the flex of corded muscles beneath your touch and the occasional sharp inhale through the mask. His skin is oddly warm, a temperature that does some to ease the tension in your muscles.
When you're done, you roll the shirt back down. He doesn't say thank you, not that you expected him to.
You break the silence with a voice that barely hovers above a whisper. "You could've let me freeze."
His brows lower. "You could've let them kill her."
"I would never do that." When he doesn't respond, you glance at her sleeping form. "She's okay?"
"Just a graze," he confirms.
"She lost quite a bit of blood. She might need a few days to rest."
Your gaze shifts back to his. You quietly add, "Did you recognize them? Were they a part of the military?"
"Maybe. Their gear was. Didn't know them, though."
"Why did they try to kill us?"
He gives you a look. Of course. He tried to kill you for the same reason once.
"They have a camp nearby," you murmur the answer, more to yourself than to him. "Something to protect."
He gives a slow nod, then moves to grab his rifle and a hoodie to slip on in place of the thick SAS jacket he lent you. As he moves to the door, you realize what he plans to do. Keep watch.
You slip the beanie off and run your fingers over the cut on your brow when he says something just before leaving.
"For someone who once asked me to kill them, you fight hard to survive, Twix."
You don't know what to say. Just hours ago, you almost asked him to kill you again.
There's a beat of silence and then, "Why?"
"Why what?"
"Do you fight so hard."
A breath sticks in your throat, and you stare at the floor. You're not sure why he is asking this, or why the answer is so hard to give.
"I... I don't know."
With that, he leaves. You watch the fire turn to dark embers. The faded adrenaline has left you with a fatigue you have grown familiar with. If you weren't so tired, maybe you would still be scared, your mind filled with fresh memories of gore and death and screaming. But you fall asleep quickly, scooting beside Blue and sinking into the warmth of his jacket.

kiss in the rain, don't let me get on that plane
an: it feels like this might be part of a series. every iteration of a fix-it my brain comes up with penned to paper, as it were.
The air is crisper up here, the sky more blue.
Air operations is a county-wide endeavor here, with five volunteer departments in the surrounding towns to drive the engines where they're needed, but the hangar in the valley below him houses six helicopters, two engines, and one functioning ambulance. The other one is, apparently, out of commission and the yearly budget won't be available for another three months.
His station doesn't work with Air Ops very often, but once a month they host a county-wide dinner and Buck had volunteered to cook the bulk of it, this time.
He's full - with food, with laughter, with a lot of light hearted teasing from the other captains about how he'd only gotten the call because he's essentially indestructible on the job (I've died twice doesn't seem to have much effect when he's standing across from them living and breathing)
He's been getting his lungs used to the elevation for a while now but he can't quite blame the thin air when his breath stops in his throat at the sight that meets him when he crests the hill towards his Jeep.
Buck feels his fist tighten around the shoulder of his duffle.
"Hey," Tommy says, and he looks -
Well he looks exactly like he'd looked three months ago at Buck's going away party.
Eddie had flown in with Chris for it, the smile reaching his eyes for the first time in a while, and Buck maybe just hadn't noticed the mischievous tilt to his grin when Eddie had pulled away from a back slapping hug, or maybe he just couldn't have clocked exactly why he looked quite like that.
He'd just been happy to see him after seven months without the comfort of a key to Eddie's place on his keyring, of knowing he'd get to see and talk to and be teased by his closest friend within a few days of the last time. He'd been ecstatic, actually, the grin refusing to leave his face while he hugged Christopher longer than necessary, while he listened to Eddie whine about his mother in a way Buck had never heard before, like he was actually a little amused by her rather than angry with her.
He'd been happy to be distracted by Bobby and Athena as they began their recollections of all the stupid shit he used to get up to, the calls he'd proved to be vital on, the ways he'd grown and changed in the near decade he'd been a firefighter.
"They're lucky to have you," Bobby had said when there were tears of laughter in everyone's eyes, and maybe he had or hadn't noticed Maddie clock-watching but he certainly noticed when front door opened and wide shoulders filled the frame - large hands curling around the handle, the downslope of a familiar nose hitting the open air before the rest of a familiar face. Thick arms framing a barrel chest and long legs in tight jeans.
It'd taken Buck another four hours and a series of hushed confessions whispered across a shared pillowcase for him to notice the slash of new silver along his temples.
He notices them now, again, as Tommy drops from the driver's side of his truck and tips his hip against the frame, sunlight catching in the lighter hairs. Tommy looks more wary than Buck's ever seen him. More hopeful, too.
"Did you mean it?" Tommy asks, and - Buck had said a lot of things, that night.
He can make an educated guess, but he's actually thinking he needs to make Tommy work for it, this time. It's startling to realize he's actually making moves to be a little selfish when his heart is pounding in his ears like this. He tips his chin. Drifts a yard and a half closer.
Tommy's gaze shifts. "Evan," and it's been three months since that night but they've talked, text threads that switch between bickering and serious and flirty and friendly, a few phone calls on hushed evenings when the cabin walls creak with wind around him. Buck hasn't heard Tommy say his name like that since it'd slipped out by mistake, three months ago, when Buck shifted his hips just enough to hit Tommy's prostate dead on. "I sold my house."
This is the big gesture, then. The one they'd talked about like it was a little bit silly, like it was still the kind of thing people did in movies that didn't really translate to a lived life.
"I literally talked to you yesterday," Buck says, and contemplates throwing something at him out of frustrated elation. A conversation from two days ago clicks. "Eddie knew, didn't he?"
Eddie with a smug tilt to his grin as he tipped the camera away from an unimpressed Christopher, Eddie pressing and pushing and wonderingly asking Buck if he'd thought about actually moving in to the house they'd offered up to him as part of the captaincy package. How Buck had scoffed, content to putz around his little bachelor cabin in the woods.
Tommy shrugs. "I shipped him all the mats from my garage when I was packing. Apparently I'm a shitty liar so he didn't quite believe me when I told him I was just upgrading."
He's beautiful, as he shifts his weight and drifts away from his truck, towards Buck, backlit by the gold-flecked, fluffy clouds hanging low over the jagged horizon line.
Buck checks his grip on his duffle.
"What happened to the car lift?"
It's - it's stupid, actually, but Buck feels like the next ten-twenty-fifty years of his life might hinge on the answer to it. Tommy steps closer - close enough for Buck to smell the aftershave on his very freshly shaved jaw. "I'm, uh. Thinking of having it shipped up from storage. If I find a place to stay."
He's got three more months he can't get out of on the cabin lease. The captains house is currently being occupied by his three most reckless probies and he won't just kick them out on a whim.
There's that ranch he sees tucked away in the valley, every time he drives into work, the one that's had a For Sale sign up since the first time he'd visited, four and a half months ago.
Buck drops the duffle and reaches forward to tug at the loops of Tommy's jeans.
The kiss is warm, soft, familiar. He shoves three and a half years worth of longing into it, in the way he hadn't, three drinks too deep with his ex after all his friends and family had wished him farewell. He'd spent six months after the breakup angry and hoping to make Tommy eat his fucking words; no one kisses like Tommy.
No one curls fingers so delicately around his ear before he lays his palm flat to Buck's scalp and tugs at Buck's hair, no one opens his mouth and licks in with a swirl and a groan like that, no one shifts their weight closer and breathes him in on a gasp.
"Tommy," Buck says, when they're both breathless and overwhelmed. He thinks of the text he'd sent, three weeks ago, after a phone call with Tommy about the kid who'd died in the air with him at the controls.
(Firsts and lasts are never guaranteed, and he hadn't meant it to sound petty, he'd really just meant to make a point about how a first high school dance and a last high school dance weren't so diametrically opposed.
Getting back a string of unpunctuated texts with misspelled words and no order or coherence had been enough to turn on his bedside lamp and call.
Tommy's voice had been tired, defeated, words slurred in a way Buck can't remember ever hearing before. It was a wall breaking down that he'd honestly never expected. Not after he'd thought he was chipping away at them only to realize Tommy had just been reinforcing them at the base.
"God, I fucking miss you," he'd said, while Buck stumbled through a speech about the survival mechanisms of the African beetle bug. Three and a half years, three semi-serious relationships between them and now over a thousand miles separated them as they'd been. A night of tipsy fucking before Buck kissed his sleeping forehead and hopped on a plane didn't change that.
But there in the quiet spaces between their breaths over the phone, he'd felt the weight of being missed by Tommy Kinard.)
"No one calls me Buck up here," Buck tells him, while they both press into each other, hands shifting over clothes, limbs stretching to meet, faces tucked in close. "You'll have to get used to Evan not being so special."
Tommy sighs. A finger draws a line from his temple to the curve of his jaw.
"Evan will always be special to me."
He's the first person since Buck began to ever call him that just because. There have been others, since then, no longer exclusive to the man who laughed as they soared through clouds and the one who'd brought him so fucking low he'd felt parts of himself fully fracture.
Buck is pretty fucking sure this means he wants to be the last. Still. He can tell his expression shutters by the way Tommy looks momentarily browbeaten, but his eyes clear, and he tugs Buck further into his chest, bundles his arms around him. "Ask me again," he says, and Buck stares into his eyes and tries to imagine what they'd look like against a skyline without smog, high up in the air, the ground falling away from them.
"That ranch I was telling you about is still for sale," Buck says, and tries desperately to keep his expression neutral as he continues. "Maybe in a couple years, you can help me with the mortgage payments."
Tommy nips at his nose, his laugh soft and quiet, warm. His eyes are a little misty.
"You're breaking my heart, Evan Buckley," and he has to clear his throat, corners of his eyes going wet. "Always knew you would."
Right now it's little more than a gesture and a promise. Buck's had three years to reflect, to understand that for all that Tommy had been the one who'd helped him reach this current update of Buck, they'd never actually dealt with too many of the hard parts. They'll have to fight for it. They'll have to talk through stupid shit, and miscommunications, and fear and regret and the love, too.
He thinks maybe Tommy's finally ready to fight.
---
Eddie looks smug as he catches sight of Tommy stumbling blearily down the stairs behind Buck on the video call.
Buck makes a face.
"Do you know how many times one of you thwarted my parent trap-esque plans for you two assholes? When you were both single six months ago I nearly hired some creep off Facebook marketplace to kidnap you both and lock you in a room."
Tommy ruffles Buck's hair, flips off the camera, navigates his way to the coffee pot, out of Eddie's view.
"And that's my cue to go," Eddie says, and Bucks gaze darts guiltily from Tommy's ass. "I better be the first one you guys invite to the housewarming." And he hangs up before either of them can argue that this is brand fucking new and they really haven't worked through the details.
He's right, though. He's right. Buck's got his teeth in the back of Tommy's neck twenty seconds later, and when Tommy leans back into it he holds up his phone and shows Buck the listing for the ranch he's been daydreaming about sharing with someone (this someone) since the first time he saw it.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
A grunt passed through Eddie's lips, followed by a hiss when he leaned to the left. A sizzling pain seared in his left side like he had been prodded with a hot poker and he could feel his muscles twisting and tightening when he leaned further until he was stretching over the passenger side.
He took the envelope that he had thrown carelessly on his jacket on the spare seat and clenched it with such a grip that the envelope crumpled beneath his tense fingers.
With a huff, Eddie opened the glove box and tossed the envelope in there, hearing it clatter against the CDs before he slammed it shut. He could deal with it later.
Walking into the house with an envelope full of tainted money would only give away what Eddie had been doing tonight, and he didn't want to do that. He hadn't even thought up an excuse for the bruises on his torso, the black eye he was going to have in the morning and the split knuckles on both hands. He was going to have to get creative.
Once the envelope was safely forgotten about, he grabbed his jacket and slung it on his shoulders, bearing another grunt and a choked moan when his chest stretched and his muscles seized up at the movement.
He had changed out of his shorts back into his joggers, but he hadn't bothered with his jacket. He drove home shirtless with the windows down to try and cool down.
Fighting always riled him up.
He heaved himself out the jeep and shut the door as quietly as possible while he leaned back and clicked his spine into place. He grimaced. Oh, he was going to feel beat and broken in the morning.
His head hung down as he trudged up the path towards the house, but when he happened to look to the left, his brows furrowed. He hadn't noticed when he pulled up on the drive. Evan's jeep was where it always was, parked right up near the bay window, and Eddie had parked behind him on the drive as normal.
But pulled up on the lawn in front of their house was another car. Eddie recognised the car but he couldn't put his finger on who it belonged to. It was someone he knew, it had to be. Who was here at their house at midnight?
His brows furrowed as he continued to trudge up the path, but a shiver coursed down his spine just as he zipped up his jacket.
The lights were on.
Both his partners and his son should be fast asleep by now. Eddie had been counting on (Y/n) and Evan being asleep so he could crawl into bed and not be questioned about where he'd been or why he was groaning or stiff with pain. If they were awake, what were they doing around the house at this time?
The front door was open. Eddie could feel his nerves going haywire when he walked inside and nudged the door shut behind him.
The hallway light was on, the living room lamp was on. The lights were illuminating in the kitchen and he could hear raised voices and clattering items from various areas of the house. What on Earth were they doing?
"Babe?" Eddie reached into his jacket pocket and grabbed his wallet and phone which he dumped on the cabinet in the hallway. He kicked off his shoes and trudged past the living room, aiming for the corridor that led to the bedrooms.
But he took a step back when a figure loomed at the end of the hall near the bathroom.
Evan stalked out into the hallway like a demon crawling from Hell. His shoulders raised high near his neck, his hands were clenching and twitching at his sides and his chest was heaving. But when he turned, the light behind him seemed to cast a dark halo around him that made Eddie's upper lip twitch and had him taking a sharp breath which hurt his chest.
The way Evan sped down the hall implied something was drastically wrong and it made Eddie's gut tense and tighten like a rope knotting up in his abdomen.
He watched with panicked eyes as Evan stormed his way and he didn't even reach Eddie before he was speaking with venom dripping from his voice.
"Where the Hell have you been?!"
"What?" Eddie couldn't help but lean his head to one side and tense his own shoulders like he was squaring up for another fight.
Had he missed something? There had been nothing special about tonight. (Y/n) had the day off, Evan had worked a night shift last night and Eddie had just pulled a double. He didn't specify what time his shift finished and he didn't always come straight home, although ninety percent of the time he did because he was tired and he didn't go far without his partners.
The fights were the only thing Eddie seemed to do on his own, and he didn't do them often. But when he got the call this morning, he couldn't pass up the opportunity. He won those fights; they allowed him to let off steam better than he could at the gym or when he was on shift. He could let loose and it didn't matter who he punched or how hard he hit them.
And the money he won was always a good bonus.
He hadn't been gone that long since the end of his shift. What had happened tonight, why was the house so alive and hectic?
"I've been calling you. I called Bobby to see if you were at work, but your shift ended four hours ago and no one's seen you. Where were you?" Evan seemed to point his finger near Eddie's chest before he changed to curl his trembling hand into a fist.
He had called. He called dozens of times, he left voicemails and texts but he got no response. Evan had been going out of his mind tonight and not being able to get hold of Eddie had made things ten times worse.
Where had he been? What had he been doing? What if he got into a crash or got attacked or something happened? If he didn't tell Evan or (Y/n) he was going out somewhere, they couldn't get hold of him in an emergency like this. And they wouldn't know where he was if he got hurt or something bad happened to him. They would be frantic, just like tonight.
Eddie rolled his lips together and lifted his chin to meet his partner's stern gaze which he did not favour tonight. His pointed chin jutted out and his cheeks hollowed as he took a deep breath, ignoring the pain it ignited in his chest as he did so.
"I was out." He didn't like the way Evan threw out a sarcastic laugh and held his hands out at his sides like he was about to pray. "Buck what's going on, who's here?"
He was taken back when Evan's hand suddenly cupped his chin. Neither of them were strangers to a heavy kiss mid-argument or just after a row, it was something common in their relationship with (Y/n). And for a moment, Eddie thought he was going to get the kiss of a lifetime with the grip Evan had on his chin.
But when Evan twisted his head to the side and his eyes narrowed, Eddie shuddered beneath that firm gaze. He knew exactly what his boyfriend was looking at. He was looking at the discolourment starting to form beneath Eddie's left eye.
He let go of Eddie's chin a bit roughly which made Eddie's head jerk down from the loss of touch, and he swallowed down a growl when Evan grabbed his wrist to inspect his knuckles.
"You promised."
He sneered. Evan actually sneered the words at him and the disappointment was clear in his eyes. Neither of them needed to speak to voice the fact that they both knew where Eddie had been tonight. He had been to the illegal fights he had been caught up in these last few months. The fights he promised not to attend anymore once Evan found out where he was going and subsequently told (Y/n) why their boyfriend was coming home battered and bruised.
Eddie tutted and rolled his eyes, instantly regretting it when he saw the way Evan's brows rose and his nostrils flared. He tried to walk around his boyfriend, but Eddie stopped abruptly when something caught his eye.
Blood.
Reaching down, he snagged Evan's wrists and pulled both hands up for inspection. Arguments and fights always got put on pause or on the back burner if any one of them were ill and this was no different. Why did Evan have blood on his hands? What had he been up to? Where was he hurt?
"What's going on?" Eddie raked his hands up and down Evan's bare arms that were clear of blood.
He took in what his boyfriend was wearing. A grey lounge shirt and matching grey slacks, usual attire for going to bed. And Eddie could see specks of blood around the knees on the slacks and one or two drops on the shirt, but nothing significant. No point of contact, no wound or cut or scratch to imply where it had come from.
He ignored the way Evan tried to tear out of his embrace and he revelled with inner glee when Evan stopped abruptly the moment Eddie cupped his face in his hands. His thumbs brushed across Evan's cheekbones, something that always short-circuited his brain and he tilted his head down so he could inspect him closely.
"Are you okay-"
Eddie could of cried when Evan reached his arms up between them and bashed his arms into Eddie's wrists, effectively making him let go and drop his touch.
"It's not mine." The way Evan's voice broke caused Eddie's heart to drop down to his gut like a ten ton stone and the feeling almost had his knees caving in.
He knew.
He knew Evan's every facial expression, and the look in his eyes wasn't glassy or paranoid or uncertain like it was when Chris was involved. In the beginning of their relationship, Evan would always feel horrible if Chris was sick or scraped his knee when he was under Evan's care. He felt like he was letting Eddie down somehow. It wasn't much better now, even when Evan and (Y/n) were classed as his legal guardians which made them just as much Chris's parents as Eddie.
That look in his eyes wasn't fear for Chris, it was sorrow and pain and torture and panic about their girlfriend. Something had happened with (Y/n) tonight.
"(Y/n)." Her name passed through Eddie's lips like a whisper on the wind and he found himself pushing into Evan's chest, trying to get him to move. But he wouldn't. Evan stood in his path like a boulder that wouldn't be moved. "Evan what's happened?!"
Evan visibly cringed, coiling his arms near his chest for a moment when he heard his name. Although it was common for (Y/n) to call him that, Eddie always stuck to Buck. He seemed to have a certain way of saying Buck that held love and a flare that got the fire going within Evan.
He only ever heard his name pass through Eddie's lips if Eddie was asking him something very serious or if something was wrong. Like this whole situation. Every aspect of it was wrong, and there was nothing Evan could do about it.
"She miscarried."
His words were finally enough to stop Eddie from trying to push him out the way. Eddie's head began to shake before he really knew what he was doing or what he was trying to process.
"No,"
That wasn't right. That couldn't be right.
Eddie had seen both his partners yesterday. He had kissed (Y/n) goodbye before he went to work in the morning. He kissed her stomach and felt the baby move as if they were saying goodbye to him. He kissed Evan when they passed at work as Evan was on his way home and Eddie was beginning his shift.
Everything had been fine this morning; couldn't they go back to that moment? Couldn't they replay this day again and make it work out properly?
They were nineteen weeks along. Everything had been fine. They had their scan last week and the baby was fine, healthy, the perfect size and always moving and kicking like they never slept at all.
(Y/n) couldn't have miscarried, that just wasn't right. She was okay, she was healthy, no complications or problems before now. Nothing had been wrong. She couldn't have lost their baby when Eddie wasn't here, when he was out being selfish and not thinking that any situation was arising back home.
Tears streaked down Eddie's face as he looked at his boyfriend who was grimacing and becoming desperate for air.
"While you were out fighting, we lost a girl."
Trembles set out in Evan's body and he went to clutch his hands at his face until a sea of red was all he could focus on. His hands were smeared with blood. (Y/n)'s blood. He raised his clenched hands above his head and smothered his forearms into his face until his nose felt like it was breaking and spit gathered at his lips as he wheezed for breath.
Tears streaked down his face as he gasped and began to shake.
He tried. He tried to stop it. He tried to console (Y/n), to make her feel better and control the situation. He tried to call Eddie and find out where he was when (Y/n) began to wail for their other partner to come home. Evan couldn't seem to do anything. He couldn't stop the miscarriage. He couldn't console (Y/n). He couldn't get hold of Eddie. All he managed to do was call his sister so she could come round and sit with Chris so Evan could stay with (Y/n). Even the ambulance he called hadn't turned up yet.
"I'm- I- baby I'm sorry." A broken sound emitted past Eddie's lips as he reached out for his partner.
His hand cupped the back of Evan's head while his other arm secured around his waist. He reeled Evan into his chest and smothered his lips into his curls, trying to breathe but it wasn't going very well. Eddie was just relieved that Evan didn't try and push him away. Instead, he dropped his arms from his face and bound them around Eddie.
He finally stopped fighting to push him away and clutched at him instead, drawing him closer as if he thought he might just fall apart if Eddie let him go.
"Maddie's with Chris- I called an ambulance." Evan's words were muffled against Eddie's shoulder, but he heard him all the same.
He hummed against Evan's hair and took another moment to kiss the top of his head and squeeze him tightly into his embrace before he tried to separate them. They had to get back to (Y/n). They had wasted enough time talking and arguing out here. If Eddie knew what had happened he would of run straight in and gone to find (Y/n) instead of wasting precious time out here.
He had to get to (Y/n). He had to apologise and make sure she was okay and somehow try and rectify this situation.
"E- Evan? Evan…" The meek sound of (Y/n)'s voice and the desperation clawing at her tone made both men shiver.
Evan felt like his legs were going to give way on him when he bustled down the hall and headed back into the bathroom. He could feel the distance growing between him and Eddie and he knew that meant Eddie was peeking his head into Chris's room just to check he and Maddie were okay.
"I'm here, I'm here." He bustled back into the bathroom, expertly remembering which way to walk to avoid the blood splatters on the floor and the mess of towels, piles of clothing and tissues scattered about.
His knees tremored when he bashed down to the floor and reached his arms back out for (Y/n).
She was sat in the small gap between the bath and the toilet as she kept feeling sick, but so far all she did was hyperventilate rather than throw up.
As soon as he was within reach, (Y/n) weakly held out her arms until Evan reached out for her. He enveloped his arms around her and reeled her into his chest, letting her hands scrunch up in his shirt and her face smother into the middle of his chest until her nose was crushing against his sternum.
He could feel each shaking breath she took which felt like she was wheezing into his chest rather than breathing.
His nose buried in her hair and he started peppering kisses to the top of her head as he swayed back and forth, rocking (Y/n) in his arms to see if it would do anything to calm them both down.
"It's okay- baby… (Y/n)?" Evan could feel his heart lurching up into his throat when (Y/n) leaned into him enough to set him off balance and have him tilting backwards. He strained his legs and tensed his back to hold them both up while one hand curved around to cup the side of her face which he tilted back so he could look down at her.
The way her eyes were rolling in her head made Evan's stomach clench like he had been punched and he watched her pupils blow up until black was the only colour he could see.
"Eddie? Eddie!"
A croaky "Oh Jesus," scraped past Eddie's lips when he swung around the corner and skidded into the bathroom.
His hand fell onto Evan's shoulder as he crouched down behind him and leaned over his shoulder to reach out for (Y/n). His hand cupped the side of her neck, pressing his fingers down over her pulse to mentally tally each beat per minute and feel how deeply she was breathing.
"Lay her down, she's starting to burn up."
Eddie swiped his sleeve beneath his nose before he rolled both sleeves up past his elbows until it felt like his circulation was being cut off. He didn't want to strip off his jacket and expose the bruises littering his chest. He didn't need to panic Evan with that right now or (Y/n) if she came back around soon.
He swiped his hand out for one of the flannels beside the bath and soaked it in cold water until his fingers went numb and began to shake.
He perched down on the side of the bath so he was level with Evan and he helped him lay (Y/n) down until her upper half was laid over Evan's lap. Eddie placed the flannel over (Y/n)'s temple and stooped over, keeping one hand on her temple while he shakily pressed his other hand around her abdomen.
They had no idea whether she was bleeding internally or if part of the miscarriage was retained and causing problems or infection.
Tears sparked in Eddie's eyes again and began to silently flush his face when he watched Evan hunch over and start to card his fingers through (Y/n)'s hair. He kept his hand on (Y/n)'s neck while he hunched forward, parting his knees to the sides so he could press a kiss to the back of Evan's head.
Why didn't he come home? Why didn't he have that sense of foreboding or an inkling of intuition that something was wrong? He should have been here with them.

(Y/n) couldn't refrain from tapping her feet against the bed from the moment she sat down. Her hands were running up and down her thighs, unsure what to do with herself until Eddie reached down and tangled their fingers together.
Both men could see the uncertainty written across her face, and they understood why.
Eddie began to glide his thumb up and down the back of her hand while Evan folded his arms over his chest and leaned into Eddie's side.
It almost seemed strange to be back in this position over a year after the miscarriage. Evan and Eddie hadn't managed to make it to (Y/n)'s first appointment for this pregnancy, they had both been scheduled to work and neither of them could swap or get off for an hour to come with her.
It left them both anxious all day because they knew (Y/n) would be panicking and they didn't want to leave her to attend the appointment alone. The only upside was that everything had been fine and the baby was fine.
This time they had both managed to come down and they were glad they were here because (Y/n) was anxious. They had been nineteen weeks when (Y/n) had the miscarriage and she was roughly twenty-one weeks now. For the last month she had been on edge almost every day and both men knew why, even if none of them voiced it.
This appointment was going to calm them all down.
"Okay, let's take a look."
(Y/n) rolled her shirt up and when the gel was placed on her stomach, she leaned her head on Eddie's arm and looked up at him and Evan. She could see the faraway look in Evan's eyes, he looked like he was in another world but the delicate smile on his face was soothing. He had one arm across his chest and his other hand was curled into a fist and pressed against his mouth, slightly obscuring his smile.
For a few moments, (Y/n) closed her eyes while she felt Eddie kissing the top of her head. Although she was sure his eyes were intently focused on the screen that was slightly angled away from (Y/n) so it was aimed towards the midwife. They all wanted to know how their girl was doing.
She tried not to wriggle or shift around at the uncomfortable feeling of the sonogram pressing down on her bladder. She tried to focus on the baby instead; what their girl was going to look like on the screen. How she was going to be laid this time, how cosy she was going to seem.
It took a few moments for (Y/n) to realise that the sonogram was still roaming her stomach rather than staying in one place. Usually the midwife stopped after a while and turned the screen so they could see the baby. What was she searching for?
She gingerly tugged on Eddie's hand and opened her eyes to look between him and the midwife.
Eddie's head was tilted to one side and his narrowed eyes were darting between the screen and the midwife with perplexion hidden in his eyes. And Evan's smile had faded as one brow arched up. They were all confused.
"Is everything okay?" Evan dropped his hand from his mouth so both arms were folded over his chest again and his fingers began tapping against his biceps.
None of them liked the look on her face. The midwife looked stricken. She wasn't looking at them, her head was leant forward towards the monitor and she tapped a few keys on the keyboard while she focused on something. But when she finally stopped moving the sonogram, (Y/n) felt a small slither of relief now the uncomfortable movement had stopped. But it was replaced with dread.
Something must be wrong, she wasn't speaking to them. It didn't usually take this long for them to talk and point out what their baby was doing on the screen.
"I'm very sorry… I can't find a heartbeat."
(Y/n) couldn't breathe.
She couldn't feel her hand that Eddie had suddenly clenched into his fist like he was trying to squeeze all the blood out of her fingers. She couldn't feel anything but the thumping of her heartbeat- a beat which should be providing for her baby too.
This wasn't right. (Y/n) couldn't do this again. She wouldn't be told she'd failed for a second time. Not another baby. She wasn't going to wait and see blood trickling down her legs. She wasn't going to sit in agony and lose a life she was desperate to protect.
She didn't want to see the way she broke both her partners when they realised what had happened. She didn't want Evan crying into her hair or Eddie at a loss for words, trying to console her but not knowing how.
"No… no, please. Check again." She didn't care how frantic her voice became when she dropped Eddie's hand and moved both trembling palms to cradle either side of her stomach.
The midwife did as asked, presumably because she saw the way (Y/n) leaned forward and was two seconds away from taking the sonogram and searching for herself. She finally nudged the screen in their direction, but if anything, seeing their baby on the screen made all three of them more frantic.
She was right there!
She was there on the screen. (Y/n) could sense and feel her. She had to be okay. She had been kicking and moving about all night. There hadn't been much movement today, but that was normal. It had to be. She was sleeping, she was just sleeping and the midwife was having a hard time waking her up.
"I'm afraid there isn't a heartbeat, and baby isn't moving." The midwife tried to rest her hand on (Y/n)'s thigh, but she retracted her touch when (Y/n) started to shake.
This was never the kind of news she liked to give and it was always heart-wrenching to have to be the one to tell people. And she never knew what kind of reaction she was going to get.
Evan's hand moved back to cover his mouth, pressing his palm as tightly as he could against his lips so no noise broke the atmosphere that was becoming suffocating. While his other arm bound around his torso so tightly he was starting to compress his abdomen into a contorted shape.
Not again. His eyes glanced over at Eddie as if watching him to try and make him do something. Make him rectify this mistake, because that was what it had to be, and Eddie always made things right.
But his boyfriend looked hollow. His eyes were vacant of anything but sorrow. His lips were screwed shut into a contorted shape and his trembling hands were curled into fists, shaking at his sides.
"No!"
"Shh, shh, okay." Eddie lunged forward and bound his arms around (Y/n) before she had chance to try and scramble off the bed or grab the sonogram; he wasn't quite sure what she had been aiming for.
His arm pinned across her chest and his other arm curved around her waist as he reeled her back onto the bed and tugged her into his chest so he could curve around her like a blanket. His lips attached to the back of her head and he felt her shoulder pinning into his sternum as he started to sway her back and forth.
There was nothing else he could do. There was nothing he or Evan could do to make this situation any better. Just like last time.
Eddie cringed at the sadistic thought that at least he was here this time. He wouldn't have known what to do or where to turn if he or Evan had missed this appointment or God forbid, if both of them couldn't turn up. (Y/n) wouldn't of dealt with this news on her own, she shouldn't have to either.
After last time, Eddie stupidly hoped and prayed that they would never have to go through that again. He tried to bargain and he even prayed, something he hadn't done in a long time, that if he stopped fighting, could they get another chance. Could things work out better this time.
Eddie stopped the fights. He hadn't been to one since that night because the memory of both partners curled up on the bathroom floor, splattered with blood was burned into Eddie's mind whenever he thought about those fights. He would never be doing that again. He shouldn't have gone in the first place, he knew (Y/n) and Evan didn't like him fighting and he wouldn't want Chris to find out either.
He thought that something like this wouldn't happen again. Maybe he stupidly believed it had been a punishment for the way he had been acting and what he had been doing. Clearly not.
"Shh, shh."
He could feel (Y/n)'s nails scratching into his arm that was strapped across her chest like a belt. And he felt her sobs wracking through his blood with her face meshed into his bicep like she was trying to use him to suffocate herself.
Eddie moved his hand up from (Y/n)'s back to cradle the base of her neck and his fingers wove into her hair while he continued to kiss the top of her head. He could feel tears burning behind his eyes and he was surprised he hadn't shed any yet, especially when he looked to the left and saw the gaunt expression on Evan's face.
Evan shakily sat down on the edge of the bed level with (Y/n)'s knees and he reached his hand down to curl around her thigh. Gripping as tightly as he could to see if it would make a blind bit of difference for either of them.
"I'll go and fetch doctor, to talk you through the next steps. I'm so sorry."
(Y/n)'s head started to shake and wheezing breaths became staggered past her lips as she began to hyperventilate. Her body started to rock back and forth into Eddie's arm while he curved himself around her and squeezed her more firmly, praying it would do something to comfort her.
As soon as the door closed and the three of them were alone, (Y/n) tried to lift her head. She didn't care about the wheezing breaths she was taking or the spots dancing in front of her eyes.
All she cared about was trying to get her boys to do something. She needed them to make this right. To do something to take the pain away and rectify this horrid situation because it wasn't right. Every aspect of this was wrong and (Y/n) wanted it to stop.
Her watering eyes made Evan's heart clench and pause and had him coiling in on himself as tears finally started to well up in his eyes.
When (Y/n) let go of his arms, Eddie stayed holding her into his chest just in case she tried to get up. He didn't want her moving right now, not when she was in shock and they needed the doctor to come in and confirm things and talk them through the next steps.
But when her hands moved to shakily cradle her stomach, Eddie's eyes fell closed and his head tilted back to stop himself from bursting into floods of tears. And he could hear the way Evan had taken to heavy breathing to try and calm himself down.
Evan let go of her thigh and opened his arms when (Y/n) flopped forward. She buried her face against his thigh, pinning both her hands into her stomach that didn't feel any different than it did yesterday. No pains. No crippling agony like last time. No blood. No cramps. No premature baby to show for the pains. Everything was supposed to be fine.
Neither of them heard what she tried to mutter into Evan's thigh while Eddie resolved to crouch down beside both partners.
He crouched beside the bed, one hand on Evan's knee and the other hand gently caressing the back of (Y/n)'s neck. He brushed his thumb across her cheek and tried to tilt her head in their direction.
"What, mi amor?"
"A-another one." She couldn't bring herself to look at either of them. Her cheek meshed into Evan's thigh but she closed her eyes so she didn't have to face them. "I lo- I lost another girl."
Two girls. Both pregnancies had been with girls, and (Y/n) had gone and lost them both.
Why couldn't she give them a daughter?

Twisting to the side, (Y/n) bound her arms tight around her waist and coiled her knees up towards her abdomen. Her nose scrunched up as her face twisted into a grimace and she huffed, trying her best to tuck her face up against Evan's back.
Her breaths mingled with his bare skin and she tried to concentrate on the lulling sound of Evan's deep breathing, rather than the sickness welling up inside of her.
She didn't know what time it was and she wasn't sure she wanted to find out either. Not when all three of them had work soon and would have to be up early in the morning.
Usually, lying in between both her partners made (Y/n) sleep better. Unless one of them was at work on a night shift, (Y/n) was always laid in between the boys. It was just the way they functioned, they way they always slept, and it always made (Y/n) feel loved and protected, like two shields surrounding her.
But right now, (Y/n) felt like she was being penned in; more specifically, like she was starting to overheat between them. And being warm usually made (Y/n) feel better when she was feeling unwell, but right now, the heat was making her feel sick.
She coiled her knees up a bit tighter to her stomach, but it seemed to be the wrong move because her stomach twisted and her throat started to clench and tighten.
(Y/n) tried to twist the other way. She pulled away from being tucked up into Evan's back and shuffled onto her back, but the movement jostled her stomach and she knew. She knew she was going to be sick.
Her arms flung at the covers, trying to free herself from being penned in the middle of the bed and her legs shook as she scrambled to sit up.
Sitting upright made (Y/n)'s head spin and her hands flapped out to the right, trying to wake and nudge Eddie because he was in the way. He didn't move quick enough.
(Y/n) clamped her hand over her mouth while her free hand pressed down into Eddie's chest. She could feel tears burning up in her eyes and spilling down her face as bile rose in the back of her throat. She winced when Eddie groaned as her legs tangled with his and she leaned her weight onto his abdomen, forcefully jolting him awake.
Both Eddie's hands clamped down on (Y/n)'s hips and his eyes shot open and blinked furiously. His head lifted and shook from side to side to try and figure out which partner was now sitting on his lap in the middle of the night.
"Baby-"
One of Eddie's legs flung off the side of the bed when (Y/n) scrambled across his lap to get off the bed. His hands stayed on her hips until his body twisted to the right and he had to let her go or face falling off the bed.
He watched with a wince as (Y/n) stumbled and crashed to the floor with enough of a bang to jolt Evan awake, but it didn't stop her from hurrying.
(Y/n) kept one hand over her mouth and the other reached out for the door which she flung open, trying to hurry to the bathroom.
Tears burned down her face and she coiled over, clinging to the wall as she threw up in the hall. Both her knees quaked together and her body shuddered before sliding down the wall until she was sat in a heap on the floor. Legs coiled beneath her awkwardly, an arm around her waist and her other hand on the wall as she threw up everything she ate for tea.
"Baby- oh mi amor. Buck, she's been sick."
Shivers coursed up and down (Y/n)'s body and she whimpered when Eddie's hands found her arms and he crouched down behind her. His thighs curved around her with his knees pressing into her waist and he gathered her hair in his hand when she leaned forward and spewed again.
"Deep breaths… breathe amor, that's it." His lips attached to her shoulder and he switched to running his hand up and down her back when she started to gag.
She threw up so much that her throat burned and she could feel her stomach and throat clenching, desperate to keep throwing up but she was losing air. Eddie's hand on her back helped kick start her lungs and get them working to take in large gulps of air.
Evan swiftly grabbed the bucket they kept under the bed for emergencies like this and jogged out into the hall. Whenever one of them was ill, Chris included, they got the 'sick bucket' out in case they couldn't make it to the bathroom in time.
Evan would have gotten it out earlier if he knew (Y/n) hadn't been feeling well, but she had seemed fine this evening. She hadn't complained of feeling sick or a headache or any ailment.
He set the bucket down beside Eddie, grimacing at the sight of the hallway as he flicked the light on to see where he was going. Mainly to avoid the sick as he trailed into the bathroom.
"Okay?" Eddie murmured into her neck when it seemed like she had finished and (Y/n) tried to nod before she gave up and tossed her head back on Eddie's shoulder.
"Here," Evan leaned over and handed a bottle of mouthwash out to (Y/n) while he set down a bottle of bleach spray and some wipes on the floor ready to clean up.
He gratefully smiled when Eddie looked over at him and motioned to the wipes. He knew Evan wasn't the best when it came to cleaning up sick, whereas Eddie was used to it from the amount of times Chris had been ill over the years.
He waited patiently for (Y/n) to swirl her mouth out and spit the mouthwash into the bucket. And when she groggily lifted her head, Evan crouched down in front of her and gently reached out for her arms. He looped them around his neck and slid his hands down until he gripped the back of her thighs and effortlessly lifted her up. He loved the way her legs instantly curved over his hips and she clung to him like a monkey.
Her face tucked into the crook of his neck while Evan headed back down the hall and into their room. He crawled up onto the bed and gently laid (Y/n) down in her spot in the middle and moved to sit next to her.
His arm looped over the back of her shoulders and he pressed his lips to her temple when she curled up into his chest like a child seeking protection.
(Y/n) coiled her arms around her waist as she closed her eyes and tried to tuck herself more into Evan until he was practically surrounding her. The way he kissed her head made her feel a warmth spreading all over and when he pulled the covers up so it was draped around their legs, (Y/n) pinned it into her abdomen.
"You never said you felt sick," He murmured into her hair while he rubbed his hand up and down her arm and sank back into the pillows.
Both their head turned in the direction of the doorway when Eddie walked back into the room. Evan turned the bedside lamp on so Eddie could flick the hallway light off and come back to bed. He looked around the room for a moment before placing the sick bucket down on his bedside table. If (Y/n) needed it during the night she could just shake him and he would grab it for her.
"All sorted. How you feeling, mi amor?" Eddie climbed back into bed and leaned over so he could gently take her chin in his hand and tilt her head in his direction.
He could see the wary look hiding within her eyes and the way she pursed her lips told him she didn't feel great. He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to her temple, noting that she wasn't burning up or flushed or going through a cold swat, all good signs.
"Come lay down." Eddie dragged the cover over his frame and looped his arm around (Y/n)'s waist. He was about to shuffle down and lay on the pillow, but he stiffened in place when (Y/n) shook her head. The tears that started to trickle down her face broke his heart and made his chest tighten at the same time.
They both felt the way she started to shake and when her trembling hands moved to cover her face, Eddie sank his teeth down into his lip. He locked eyes with Evan, both unsure what to do as Eddie shuffled back up and twisted so he was sat the same as Evan, with his back against the headboard.
"Try and sleep, baby, you'll feel better soon." Evan's lips smothered her temple and he tried to glide his hand up and down (Y/n)'s thigh but she shook her head again.
She seemed to burrow down in between them both and when Eddie gently held her wrists and pulled her hands away from her face, she whimpered.
"No I- I won't." (Y/n) couldn't help the way she hiccupped through her words and she tried to wipe her eyes, but she couldn't stop crying. Even as Evan tried to shush her and Eddie leaned over and pressed his lips into her shoulder while he let go of her wrists in favour of looping his arm around her waist.
"What makes you say that?" Eddie peppered kisses against her exposed shoulder, but he couldn't help how unnerved he felt.
"Because I'm pregnant."
The way she wailed the words made both men cringe and coil around her tighter like they were afraid if they didn't hold her together, she would fall to pieces.
Leaning up a little more, Eddie bound his arm higher around (Y/n)'s waist with his hand clamped down into the curve of her waist and he burrowed his face into the crook of her neck so his lips could attach to the soft skin beneath her jaw. He felt (Y/n) leaning her cheek on top of his head while Evan turned to curve his chest over her back while his hand glided up and down her arm to try and calm her down. Panicking and getting upset wasn't going to do any of them any good.
"So that was morning sickness?" Eddie murmured against her neck which vibrated with his voice, feeling her nod as she sniffed and tried to take deep breaths to calm down.
"Baby, please don't cry." Evan practically pleaded as he moved his arms to loop them around (Y/n)'s waist. He gently eased her back with him until she was leaning into his chest again and he slouched down into the pillows to try and get them all to relax.
His lips meshed into her hair as he shuffled down so he was leant up against the pillows just a little, with (Y/n) adjusted between his legs. And Eddie huddled at their side, laid on his front so he could look up at the pair of them.
Eddie had his arm looped around (Y/n)'s middle again but he pressed a shallow kiss to Evan's shoulder when (Y/n) took Evan's hands that were around her waist and pressed them into her abdomen. He could feel the shudder that tore through Evan who didn't quite know what to do now.
This wasn't like the last two times she gave them this news.
The first time they had all been so excited, so happy and over the moon. Eddie thought Evan was going to explode with happiness when they found out. The second time (Y/n) gave them each a small box with a pair of baby boots in and they all shed some tears at the news.
This was different. Somehow, it didn't feel like another chance at having a baby together. It felt like another dreadful chance of losing a baby.
(Y/n) couldn't face another loss like that again.
When they lost their first girl, (Y/n) had felt a kind of desperation she had never felt before. She wanted a baby. She wanted to feel their baby moving and kicking and have her child in her arms. Getting pregnant a second time had been frightening but also came with such a sense of relief because she wanted a baby, and so did the boys.
She could see their yearning when her bump started to show again. She could see the look in their eyes and feel the desperation in the way they held and kissed her and lavished her bump with feverish touches.
(Y/n) didn't want to get halfway through again only to fail and lose another child. They couldn't grieve for another life lost.
(Y/n) tilted her head down to look at Eddie when he shakily placed his hand on top of Evan's that was resting on her stomach. His chin perched on her shoulder again and he kissed her neck lovingly.
"If it's a girl, I'll lose her."
"Baby don't say that."
(Y/n) shuddered at the dark, demanding tone in Evan's voice that had her rattled to her core. She couldn't help it. That was what she was afraid of, even if she didn't want to believe it. She didn't want to believe that she couldn't have a little girl, but that was what it felt like. Twice, they'd tried for a baby. Twice, (Y/n) had lost their little girls. Maybe if she had a boy, she might be able to get through the pregnancy.
She felt even worse when she thought back to those pregnancies. The first time, (Y/n) remembered Evan kissing her stomach and telling her he was certain they were going to have a girl. She remembered what he whispered against her bump.
"I want a baby girl to spoil."
(Y/n) almost got it right. She almost gave him a girl, if she could of held on a few more weeks, they might have gotten a chance to save her.
She remembered finding out the second time that they were having a daughter. She remembered the apprehension she felt but also the love because she could remember Eddie's voice whispering in her ear.
"We've got a girl to cherish, I can't wait to meet her."
They all wanted a girl. Both boys wanted a girl to spoil and love and hold, and (Y/n) lost them both. If this was another girl too then she didn't stand a chance with (Y/n) as her mother.
She didn't realise more tears were pouring down her face until Evan suddenly started to hum and shush into her hair.
He inched down the bed again until he was properly laid down which eased (Y/n) down with him. She was still laid between his legs with her head on his chest and Eddie practically lying on top of them both. As soon as Evan reached over and turned out the light, (Y/n) shuddered until Eddie's lips were on hers and Evan was kissing the top of her head.
She could feel their hands roaming around her body, trying to wrap her up in their embrace and keep her calm and comforted and loved.
"It's gonna be okay."
Eddie cupped the side of her neck and kissed her cheek before he laid his head on Evan's shoulder and hooked a leg over his and (Y/n)'s thighs. He felt Evan kiss his temple while they both stayed quiet and tried to see if (Y/n) was calming down at all. They had a feeling none of them were going to be able to sleep tonight with this news.
"It has to be a boy… I might- I might be able to carry a boy." (Y/n) tried to hover her hand over her stomach again while she felt Evan become bold and slide his hand beneath her shirt to cradle her stomach.
"No, mi amor. Whatever we have, they'll be okay this time. We'll make sure of it."
"Yeah, we're gonna look after you, both of you."
They weren't just words. They were vows; promises. Whatever Eddie and Evan could do, they would do it. They would make sure that this time it turned out differently, whether they had a girl or a boy.

Heyy I loved “naps and forgetfulness” and was wondering if you could maybe make a part 2??
「Annoying customers and Star Wars」 Stiles Stilinski x F!reader
I had the most annoying costumer ever at work the other day and I thought of using it as a sequel to this story, I hope you'll like it and thank you so much for requesting, dear, this was so fun to write! 🩷
━━━•❃°•°❀°•°❃•━━━
"oh! is that my boyfriend that actually remembered me?!" you ask as you walk out of your working place. Stiles, who's sitting on the drivers seat of his Jeep, looks up from his phone and looks at you with pursued lips and guilty eyes.
"that's me." He laughs as he gets off his car to walk towards you. He is so pretty you can't help but feel a swarm of butterflies in your stomach when he's near enough to grab your cheeks and kiss you lovingly. His lips are on yours for a few seconds before he breaks the kiss with a content hum to grab your waist, "hey pretty, how was your shift?" his eyes, those big brown eyes of his, look at you with such love and adoration that your heart clenches and the tiredness of your four hours shift disappears.
"It was good, but a lady was really rude to me" you say as Stiles guides you towards the other side of the Jeep to open the door for you.
His ears perks up at that, despite the fact that he feels bad when you have a bad shift, he loves to listen about all the dramas "mh? what happened?" He asks as he waits for you to get on the passenger seat before closing the door to jog back to the driver seat.
"oh you got me food from Burger King! thank you Sti'" you say after smelling the delicious smell of burgers in the car and you don't waste time to open the bag to eat right away.
"you're welcome baby, so what happened?" he asks after receiving a so deserved 'thank you' kiss from you.
"Well, first of all, in the busiest day for a restaurant, she didn't book a table and EXPECTED to have one right away!" You start after taking a bite from the hamburger, god, it's so good.
He scoffs "are you serious? that's just stupid, how could she expect for it to be empty on a Friday night?" he says as he starts the engine.
"Right?! so I told her that she and her son would have to wait for at least twenty minutes and she scoffed at me!"
"Unbelievable, and what happened next?" he asks and opens his mouth when you bring a chip close to his mouth.
"When a table finally got freed up she didn't want it because it was too close to the toilets and she didn't want to eat with the door opening and closing repeatedly and people passing every two minutes."
"and let me guess, after that you kindly told her to go fuck herself, right?"  he looks at you for a second before looking back at the road as you keep on eating.
"I really wanted to! so I told her that we could've moved the table a bit away from the bathroom and she said it wasn't away enough" you keep on going and feed him another two french fries.
Stiles snorts at that "oh my God, she just wouldn't stop bitching, what a Karen".
"and it isn't even over yet! I tried to give her another table that got freed up in that moment but guess why it wasn't good enough for her?"
"the table cloth wasn't white enough?" he says as he rolls his eyes.
"it was too close to the opened window AND it hadn't been cleared yet and she didn't want to sit in a still unmade table, I mean- the people who were sitting there had just stood up, what did she want me to do?" you add as he stops at a red light and steals another chip.
"oh she's just ridiculous, you should've just kicked her out" he says and you grab his hand to play with it.
"I wish I could've, it took her 30 freaking minutes to choose what to eat because she and her son didnt do anything but looking at their phones and guess what? She wanted to eat the only dish that I told her wasn't available anymore tonight and she whined about it for MINUTES."
"what the hell was wrong with her!?"
"I don't know, it's like she came here to annoy me! I gave her so much attention that I had to ask Logan to cover the other tables I was serving until she was gone." You munch on your almost finished burger.
"I'm sorry baby, you did not deserve that witch."
"I wanted to cry, really. And after they were done eating she didn't even leave a tip, I mean- didn't she see how whiny she was and how patient with her I was?!"  you ask while pointing at yourself as Stiles reluctantly moves his hand to use the gear stick.
"what a fucking karen, she's a bitch, I hope she... broke a nail or something" he says as he starts the car again when the light turns green.
"woah, you kiss your dad with that mouth?" you ask sarcastically at his attempts to be 'aggressive' or... whatever that was, he pinches your thigh lightly as response before stealing, again, some of your food... you don't mind though.
"hey! don't act like I couldn't be a bad boy if you wanted me to, I'm pretty badass" he avoids to look at you as he says it, he's so cute that you can't even imagine him as a 'bad boy'.
you snort at that "nah, I'm good with my sweet and cute boyfriend" you comb back his hair as he keeps his eyes on the road.
"yeah? you don't prefer a strong, masculine and very bad boy with a leather jacket and maybe a motorcycle?" he asks as you keep your hand in his hair, he's enjoying all the attentions so much that he could literally purr in content.
"I prefer cute, sarcastic nerds with Jeeps and obsession with star strek" you say as you put back the papers covering the finished burger with your free hand.
"Star Wars, baby" he corrects you for the millionth time as he takes your hand from his head to bite it lightly as to scold you, after all, he already corrected you many, many times.
"yeah, yeah, the same thing" you answer dismissively and Stiles keeps your hand in his on his lap.
He rolls his eyes at your words "it's not the same thing, they're very different."
"I'm not gonna have this conversation with you... again." you answer before he can start his rambling about why the two shows are different (they're not).
"you're just not cultured enough to understand the differences, babe" he says while squeezing your hand. "Can't you see you're embarrassing yourself? you can't go around in this world without knowing the difference! if you could give Star Wars a chan-"
"We're not gonna watch Star Wars!" you state as you start eating the leftover chips.
"But why not!? we've watched Harry Potter a thousands times!" he looks at you with an expression of disbelief and disappointment.
"It's different! Harry Potter is actually entertaining and you love it too." You keep in a laugh.
"yeah, yeah, whatever, you like it because of Harry and your massive crush on him in the fifth and sixth movie" he says just to tease you a bit.
"I- how do you know that?! I never told you-" you're flabbergasted, you didn't think he would actually notice it.
"Oh please! those are the only two movies you watch without looking at the phone even once." Fuck, are you that obvious? His scolding eyes tells you that yes, to him,, at least, you're actually that obvious.
"oh because you definitely don't find Hermione hot in the seventh movie?" you ask already knowing the answer and your boyfriend opens his mouth in shock.
"I can't believe you're calling me out like this" he replies with an embarrassed expression on his face that tells you that you're absolutely right. "but... but what about Darth Vader, baby, he's hot too!"
"who's Dart father? The cute one with curls and blue eyes?"
"Vader, baby and yes, Hayden Christensen." he corrects you... again, he turns towards your house.
"Oh yeah he is so handsome! but I won't watch Star Wars, end of story."
He sighs and looks back at the road "I'm still gonna get you into Star Wars, I don't care if I have to play the 'I'm the man in this relationship' card"
"you would never use that card" you say as a matter of fact and Stiles pursues his lips, got him.
"shut up, woman" he demands but mutters a small 'sorry' right after that makes you giggle lovingly at him.
"So... if we're not gonna watch Star Wars nor Harry Potter what would you like to watch tonight?" you ask to change the subject as you finish the last fries.
He thinks about it for a second, he's not in the mood for a horror movie but he doesn't want to watch another of your rom-com movies either because he'd have to watch his every move to not fall asleep before them even getting to the good part, so he says "let's just watch The Office, okay? there are still some episodes left"
"'kay" you only say as you see your street coming into view.
"God, I'm craving a shower so badly right now" he groans as he parks the Jeep in front of your house, his whole body is still sore after lacrosse practice and he's in dire need of some relaxation time.
"don't tell me, I smell of every type of smell that can be present in a restaurant" you say while getting out of the Jeep.
Stiles chuckles at your words while he exits the car too and follows you to the front door "oh I don't know, you're kind of hot after your shifts at work" he says jokingly as you unlock the door.
"and they say romance is dead" you roll your eyes and let Stiles in after you.
"I know, right?"

Harry Potter is underrated in his own saga, and I stand by that.
