Oscar Peterson "My Favorite Instrument" 久し振りの"Exclusively for My Friends"シリーズ、お復習になりますが下記の6部で、( )内は録音年月です。 ●Vol.1 "Action" (March 1963/April 1964) ●Vol.2 "Girl Talk" (Late 1965, November 1966, November 1967, April 1968) ●Vol.3 "The Way I Really Play" (November 12, 1967) ●Vol.4 "My Favorite Instrument" solo piano (April, 1968) ●Vol.5 "Mellow Mood" (April 1968) ●Vol.6 "Travelin' On" (April 1968) 未購入はVol.6だけになりました。 本作は、シリーズ中唯一のソロです。ピーターソンはピアノ・トリオの期間が長く、もちろんどの作品も当たりはずれのない安定した素晴らしい演奏を聴かせてくれますが、アート・テイタムと並んで、ソロ向きのピアニストだと私は思います。 確かなテクニックから奏でられる誰にも真似の出来ない豊かな表現力は、他の楽器は不必要、ソロですべてを伝えられるからです。"一人芝居"を演じられるピアニストは、そう多くはいないでしょう。 また、音数の多い超絶技巧ばかりではなく、Side 2-4 "Little Girl Blue"のような静かなバラッドもタッチが繊細で美しく、華麗さと優雅さを併せ持ち、妙なフレーズや奇をてらわないことも、ソロには��ってつけだと思います。 録音は、もちろんこのシリーズに共通の全く文句��付けようのない美しい音色です。Sumico Pearlの繊細さが絶妙、真空管アンプ+フォノイコも素晴らしいです。低音域は身体に振動として伝わり、高音域は澄んでどこまでも届くようです。彼の声も聞こえるほどリアリティがあります。 1972年にトリオを解散しソロ・ピアニストとして活動するようになりますが、本作では早々にその自由奔放な思いのままのプレイを楽しんでいる姿を見ることが出来ます。 本作のシリーズは、MPSのオーナーであるブルナー・シュワァー氏の自宅でお客を招いてのパーティー形式でのピアノ・プレイを録音した珍しいものですが、Verveの契約切れを持ってMPSから発売。しかし発売予定の枚数に取り置きの音源が足りなくなったので、急遽追加録音して発売したのが、このソロ・アルバムだそうです。1945年からのレコーディングの中でも20年振りに生まれた初のソロ・アルバムだと言うことですから、ピーターソンのソロはこの1枚と言っても過言ではないでしょう。 このシリーズは再三再発されていますが、本盤はテイチクからのMPSベイシック・セレクション"2000"と言う日本盤です。そう言えば、このシリーズ、私が所有しているのは、全部日本盤です。 #jazz #fuzey #vinyl #jazzvinyl #vinylcollection #jazzvocal #ジャズシンガー #ジャズ #スイングジャーナル #レコード #OscarPeterson *作品を知るとジャズはもっと輝きます。情報くださる先輩諸氏に感謝。 https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp9EfQ_PcSf/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sue Raney ‎ "Songs For A Raney Day" オリジナル盤を見つけ、迷わず入手してしまいました！Capitalのレインボー・ラベルです。私の生まれる前のアルバムにしては、ジャケットはとても綺麗です。大事に聴かれていたのでしょう。 ジャケットはシミがありますが。 雷鳴と夕立のオー���ニング、ここのリアリティはどうでしょうか。 Shure M44-7のカー��リッジ視聴比較をした時、女性ヴォーカル・アルバムの代表の一枚に本作を選びました。 Ameba Blogの｢Charlie Kariのブログ｣で公開したその時の結果は... ○Shure SC35C - 声がソフトで円やか、中低音域の豊かさは本作でも素晴らしい、ステレオ感には欠けます。 ★Tonar Banana - 華やかで艶がある歌唱に、発音もシャープで清々しい、声質と合っています。 △Shure M44-7 - 硬質で、彼女の爽やかな声質にはミスマッチ。奥行きも減ってしまいます。 と言う結果でした。アンプは違いますが、とりあえず、Tonar Bananaで聴いてみましょう。 オリジナル盤は、圧倒的に中低音域の量感が違いますね。これは、よくあること。奥行きとチャンネル・セパレーションにも優れているので、ヴォーカルのリアリティも増します。小音量でもしっかりした音を聴かせてくれますね。再発盤も決して悪いわけではありませんですし、再発盤でも十分、むしろ軽くて爽やかと言う点では良いと思いますよ。 お復習ですが、通称｢雨の日のジャズ｣｢雨のスーちゃん｣、スー・レイニー2枚目のアルバム。雨に因んだ名曲をビリー・メイの粋なアレンジで、名前と雨を引っかけたタイトルとは裏腹に、とても爽やかに歌い上げています。 ちなみに録音は1959年後半、1960年リリースとしか分かりません。大手のヴォーカル・アルバムは、どうして分からないのが多いのでしょうか。 #jazz #fuzey #vinyl #jazzvinyl #vinylcollection #jazzvocal #SueRaney #BillyMay #CapitalRecords #EdYelin #ジャズシンガー #ジャズ #スイングジャーナル #レコード *作品を知るとジャズはもっと輝きます。情報くださる先輩諸氏に感謝。 https://www.instagram.com/p/CpZRJGlvJX8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
