I think it was just because I've been looking for another character for Vanco kid (and fact she's following Jinx around) that my mind jumped to that association.

But she does fit well as a Jayvik kid. And once again Jayce got his wish that their child take after Viktor because she's borderline a mini-me for Viktor.

Act 3 Thoughts

Watched Wicked, came home, waited 20 minutes, binged Act 3. I do not recommend this lifestyle. Anyway...

I was so satisfied with where we ended up, but I would have also appreciated about 20 minutes to an hour more. It felt like some beats were skipped over, they wanted to get to specific endings and didn't have the time to wrap them up as neatly as I would've liked.

Maddie is a good example. She's a plant for Ambessa, okay but when and why did she become one? She couldn't have been one before Cait being named commander and when we next see her she's pushing for Cait to take power back from Ambessa. Did Ambessa just message her right after Cait and Vi started working together again as like a "the woman you love's actual love is back in the picture, you can either wallow or get revenge with me", but also made a smarmy remark about Cait 'at least being warm' or something. We didn't need to absolve Cait or villainize Maddie for their 'relationship' because they didn't even have a relationship-just a coping mechanism for Cait, similar to Vi's drinking. At best it was all unnecessary and at worst a waste of time.

Away from that, I want to focus on some good.

I am officially a JayVik shipper now. Them disappearing into a void together, encircled with each other, after Viktor spend however long within timelines/multiverses in hopes of finding a Jayce able to bring him back to his humanity? Come on, they needed to kiss. Especially after Jayce and Mel's low key break up. Honestly we were denied the three of them working together, because they would have been unstoppable.

Speaking of Mel, I love her. I love her design, her powers, her matricide, her taking command of Ambessa's armies, etc. I wish we could have seen more of her adapting to her new powers, finding peace with what she now is. There could have been a cool interaction with Viktor over how Arcane power has changed them both for better and worse.

I don't think Mel's story is done. With other characters, I can see them coming in for future story arcs as like, cameos or background details, but if the next LoL story is in Noxus I fully expect Mel to be a major player again.

Back to Jayce. I like Jayce, that could be my Arcane hot take, and I definitely want to write something more in depth on him. On all the characters really. For now, I'll just say that his determination to destroy everything he has built, because the only creation worth saving is his relationship with Viktor is just... glorious.

Viktor was amazing. I love Viktor in the lore, and they took his traits from the lore and amped them up to eleven. His body being destroyed and rebuilt, the process of which has chipped away his humanity and mutilated his dreams. He lives up to his own quote: "In the pursuit of great, we failed to do good. We have to make it right."

Ekko is a character I never realize I miss. That sounds mean, it probably is, but I am never the less so happy to see him every time. It's like finding the missing piece you didn't even know was lost: that is Ekko to me. His mini adventure in the parallel universe was adorable. Us getting to see what could've been alongside learning what matters most to Ekko, him getting a taste of a near perfect life and still choosing to return to his own time. That's why Ekko is the true hero of this story.

In terms of Jinx, I'll just say I'm not a hundred percent sure she's dead. The airship leaving at the end followed by her scribbled sign off, plus not getting a dead body shot. It was definitely left open ended. Her looking to do something good, to not mess up, alongside her fear of not wanting to try again because she is just tired of failure, of being a Jinx, was too real in many ways. I will go in depth on her at a later date.

Caitlyn's arc is going to be argued about, no question. It needed more time (see the start of this long post) to make her point of her anger burning away, of it not being sustainable, hit harder. I would have made her realize what her anger was doing to Vi, have Jinx point out that they really are acting the same in their treatment of Vi, and use the whole Ambessa was literally stoking the fires of her hatred to help fit what time they had left. Honestly just have Cait learn Ambessa was the one behind the memorial attack, that would be a much better way to explain her anger diminishing enough to look beyond her own hurt to realize and take account of her mistakes.

Vi, as usual, needed more screen time. Not necessarily because her story would've been helped by it like in act two, but just because I wanted her to have more time to enjoy her life. I went into act three with the sole hope that Vi would have a nice day, only for her to loose everything again. The only people she has left are Cait and Ekko, and god help anyone who tries something against those too now. Her ending being the chance to finally rest, to lean on someone else, was beautiful. She is my favorite character and please let her have only good things in the future, she was traumatized in almost every scene this season please-

Nobody tell Vi that in a universe where she died young everyone else ended up living. It would destroy her.

Vi and Cait relationship was great. I wouldn't say it was rushed in act three, because it felt like it was where it should be for a final batch of episodes, if that makes sense. It felt like the set up was Cait being genuinely remorseful and Vi just wanting someone in her life who wanted her in return. It helps that they have great chemistry and that when given the chance they fit so neatly together. I think Jinx encouraging Vi to be with Cait is what sold it to me. Jinx realizing how much Vi has given/sacrificed and giving her blessing for her sister to be happy with someone she disapproves of; not to mention Cait pulling the guards from their posts to give Vi the chance to actually meet Jinx in order to have that conversation. All in all, it comes down to Vi's "I don't care" because that's really all there is too it for them. Vi is done being miserable and Cait makes her happy, vice versa. Cait is someone Vi can rely on, Vi is someone Cait can find strength in.

Fave Secret note: 19. Really cemented her dislike for Lewis but loves the absurdity of him having a golden statue of himself in the game. Will absolutely continue to place it around town when she needs a laugh

Least fave: Mr.Qi, something about him just freaks her out

Romance/Roommate: Harvey is who she marries most her solo, thinks he is so sweet and relaxing, has married Elliot, Penny, and Sebastian. Maru when it's co-op, hated divorcing her but hadn't ever married another player so wanted to try it with Mel

Fave Activity: starting a million files, helping new players get started, has acheived perfection on one save but is who introduced perfection to Viktor

Skill they max out first: Foraging. Always waits til Saturday and mass collects

Fave Secret note: 11, thinks that the photo is so so sweet and wishes that there were more sweet moments like that in the game

Fave Holiday/Event: Dance of the Moonlight Jellies. It was the flower dance because it's such a first game experience but didn't have the heart to tell Mel that the green jelly happens everytime so when it happened it reminded her of the effort put into the game being a magical experience.

Mods: usually just aesthetic mods, but helped Viktor install optmization ones

Least fave: pierre (biased from viktor) wanted to be friends with clint since he was a blacksmith but his attitude made Jayce not like him. He won't admit it.

Romance/Roommate: would just live with Viktor and would be the one to get the marriage ring if Viktor played co-op long enough.

Fave Activity: Volcano forge, combinging rings and leveling up weapons

Skill they max out first: Mining, collected so much ore early on. Especially in the winters of year 1 and 2

Fave Secret note: 27, after his review with grandpa he was sad that he wouldn't see or hear from him again but finding note 27 made him really happy and gave him hope that there would be more of him in the game elsewhere (would try to get perfection but lost steam on the game)

Fave Holiday/Event: desert festival, likes the calico egg mini games and the stalls remind him of the young inventors comp

Mods: new items to craft, loved the farm computer and wanted more things like it

Least fave: Pierre. After the first time a villager said that Pierre shit on his produce and claimed the good ones as his own he's had beef. Wanted to steal Caroline away because of it.

Romance/Roommate: jayce gave him puppy dog eyes when he considered marrying anyone in game, was only going to do it for perfection, ends up living with Krobus

Fave Activity: building the junimo huts and changing the junimo colors

Skill they max out first: foraging, just ended up walking around the map a lot when he was in early game and would picked up anything he could

Fave Secret note: 12, loved that you could go digging through the trash for random stuff. Became his favourite after he finished 3 community bundles of it.

Fave Holiday/Event: night market, reminds him of bartering in Zaun markets with his mother when he was younger

Least fave: Lewis, passive agressive white man pissed him off. Was going to be his fave because the stache reminded him of Heimerdinger. Dislikes gunther too, liked the artifacts at first but that man takes all the credit and it pisses him off.

Romance/Roommate: torn between Leah as an artistic naturalist girl and Emily as a blue haired baddie. Would want to marry Jinx in game but Jinx wouldn't play it long enough to get the ring

Fave Activity: Community Board and Help Wanted, likes the random side quests and also loves helping the community.

Skill they max out first: Farming but it came from all his work with the animals not crops.

Fave Secret note: 14, liked the stone statue but gives it to Isha because she loves the Junimos

Fave Holiday/Event: Feast of the Winter Star. Feels like its the best community event and loves hunting for the best gift for his assigned village

Least fave: Lewis. Exudes elitist pilitie energy and she could sniff it off him immediately.

Romance/Roommate: doesn't romance anyone but does adopt Leo. Doesn't want anyone to know about it but the ginger island stuff is her favorite part of the game.

Fave Activity: liked the Pirate's Wife Quest and the matching of items to people. Felt like the conclusion was nice and realistic

Skill they max out first: Combat, mostly because the mines since the farm gives so little xp

Fave Secret note: 15, likes the mermaid show and kept the pearl the rest of her play through

Fave Holiday/Event: Night Market. Most reminiscent event of Zaun and likes the lil guy who sells the paintings.

Hi! I am a Little shy with this but, i got really excited when I read about your Lumen event (because I have been a little obsessed with the au haha) so I said let’s give it a try.

1.- my favorite colors are red, and royal blue. My favorite foods are Lasagna, and this Mexican dish called “pollo a la poblana” (Poblana Chicken). I love spending time with my friends and discussing about shows, books and video games with them. And I also enjoy making people happy, wether it be telling a joke or comforting them when they are sad.

2.- An element I would choose would be Lightning.

3.- I think my most prominent trait would be my ability to make people laugh, or be how passionate about things I love.

4.- My favorite character of Arcane is Viktor, because I really relate to him a lot, how he can get lost in the things he loves, or how he is really loyal to his beliefs and values.

mini blurb: When Jayce and Vik get into an argument in the lab, you are always there to shock them back into work mode. If Jayce tries to get smart again he ricks being shocked repeatedly which inky makes Viktor laugh as he has to run away from the little lumen with all the passion of a bull fighter.

“Ow—call off your lumen!” Jayce yells, dodging your dive bombing.

“I think they want you to apologize,” Viktor teases.

Random but funny ass thought. what if jayvik baby looks a lot like Viktor? However it has slightly darker and eyes hair like Jayce. So it’s hard to see that it looks like Jayce as a parent so when random people see Jayce with the baby they’re like where did you steal that kid and when they see Viktor/baby with Viktor, it all connects like oh. OH!

For some reason (personal family experience) I always assume their kid's skin does the thing where they can get very pale but as soon as they're in the sun for like 2 days they have Jayce's skin shade (which probably isn’t noticed as much until they are a bit older and actually able to run around in the sun). Which doesn't exactly tie in here (kind of does) I just wanted to share.

When Jayce realises their kid is a mini-Viktor he's happy. It's more the longer term when he does just have the kid with him in public he gets a bit annoyed but that's because of

people 'jokingly' asking where he kidnapped the kid from

people telling him how good he is for taking in an orphan

people then making comments that basically say he must be disappointed when he jokes that ‘no [they] just take after [their] other parent’

He never gets the comments when Viktor is around (alright he may get some heavily veiled ‘you must be at least slightly disappointed’ ones still) and instead gets the “oh [they] have your eyes!” because now Viktor is there suddenly people can identify which bits come from Jayce.

In the situations where Viktor is like quickly doing something and joins mid-way through the conversation well, he’s at least kind of entertained by the sudden backtracking when the person realises that they misread the situation. Jayce just wants to leave the conversation.

Ok 2 things, ones a delightful rant and the others an actual question~

So I’ve recently finished catching up with all your ZaunFam Omegaverse posts and I love them all (shoutout to that Mylo and Silco bonding mini fic~) but what really got me cackling was that question on if Jayce was the Omega and Viktor was the Alpha~ I just love the idea that Viktor’s like that nerdy guy at school who was looked down on (not physically bullied as his family would destroy you~) for being physically weak though really smart, that then comes back years later extremely successful with a hot piece of eye candy on his arm (Jayce~) and everyone is just flabbergasted!~ Even more sweet/funny if you add the fact that Jayce has never considered himself conventionally attractive by Piltover standards (Makes me wonder how the ‘Golden Boy’ thing would change with that reality~) and doesn’t get what the fuss is about~

Also even better if Jayce’s pregnancy goes extremely smoothly, like through the whole 9 month to birth is a relative breeze (as much as a pregnancy can be~) and Silco’s just seething in the corner cause even though he’s happy to have a healthy grandchild he’d have liked Jayce to suffer like he did~ Oh the pettiness~

And now with my actual question~ I noticed that most of the post about ZaunFamily revolve around Silco/Vander’s relationship or raising of the kids/Zaun’s independence OR Jayce/Viktor’s relationship and generally terrorising Jayce to some capacity~ Which is all great btw~

So I’m wondering if you’ve thought of any interesting titbits or stories about the rest of the ZaunFam as people and their relationships?~

Omega!Jayce does really let you play with the whiplash of the Golden Boy - he goes from being seen as a bit plain to suddenly the most sought after omega in the city. But by that point Viktor already has won just by recognising Jayce's potential first (Mel also sits in that space of course but that's a separate verse/idea).

Unfortunately, it really give Viktor the vibe of the weird guy in highschool that comes back to the reunion with his arm-candy to upstage everyone. Which isn't what happens at all but... there are some in Zaun who think that. Especially seeing the whole 'wealthy family' thing.

When it's Viktor having it easier than Silco with his pregnancy Silco's envy is a bit more tempered because that's his son and he's seen Viktor have to deal with physical limitations his whole life. When it's the privileged (by comparison) Jayce he's more likely to get the kind of toxic mentality of you're supposed to suffer for your children. Even if healthy grandchild is definitively something he's happy with.

About the titbits or stories about the rest of the ZaunFam as people and relationships the answer is yes just they tend to either be

really tight moments (like 10 lines MAX) that I forget to write down (or are scribbled down somewhere really unhelpful and easily lost) because I'm waiting for them to find a home in another idea (often happens) - the Mylo & Silco bonding ficlet is a good example of that; the "she's not really my sister" exchange and the "what the siblings are good at" exchange both just sitting in my head for a bit and then when I got the "Silco in his full Act 2 style outfit with Mylo’s head in his lap" idea they combined to make that ficlet.

Or if you notice in a prompt I seem to have added another really strong theme/image - that idea fit nicely with the prompt so it finished it for me.
