Can Basti treatment help with arthritis pain?
Arthritis, a prevalent condition characterized by joint inflammation, affects millions worldwide, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. While conventional treatments like medications and physical therapy are commonly used, alternative therapies like Ayurvedic treatments are gaining attention. This article delves into the potential of Basti treatment, including Janu Basti and Griva Basti, in managing arthritis pain at Ayurvedic hospitals in Delhi like Patanjali Hospital.
Understanding Basti Treatment
Basti, an integral component of Panchakarma therapy in Ayurveda, involves administering herbal decoctions and oils rectally or vaginally. It aims to eliminate toxins, balance doshas (bio-energies), and restore health. Depending on the condition, different types of Basti, such as Niruha Basti (decoction enema) or Anuvasana Basti (oil enema), are employed. Janu Basti and Griva Basti are specific types of Basti targeting knee and neck regions, respectively.
Basti Treatment for Arthritis
Ayurvedic practitioners advocate Basti therapy for arthritis management due to its purported ability to pacify Vata dosha, which is often associated with joint disorders in Ayurveda. The warm herbal oils or decoctions used in Basti are believed to lubricate the joints, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain. Additionally, Basti aids in detoxification, enhancing overall joint health.
Clinical Evidence
Although limited, some studies have explored the efficacy of Basti in arthritis management. A study published in the Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine examined the effects of Ayurvedic interventions, including Basti, on rheumatoid arthritis patients. The results showed significant improvements in pain, joint tenderness, and disease activity scores post-Basti therapy, suggesting its potential as an adjunct therapy for arthritis.
Another study published in the Journal of Ayurveda and Holistic Medicine evaluated the efficacy of Basti in osteoarthritis patients. Participants receiving Basti treatment reported reduced pain, stiffness, and improved joint function compared to the control group, indicating its beneficial effects in osteoarthritis management.
Practical Considerations
Before considering Basti therapy for arthritis at Ayurvedic hospitals like Patanjali Hospital in Delhi, it's crucial to consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. They can assess your condition, determine the appropriate type of Basti, such as Janu Basti or Griva Basti, and customize the herbal formulations based on your specific needs. Additionally, Basti treatment should be complemented with dietary modifications, lifestyle changes, and other Ayurvedic therapies like Sampurna Mehrudand Basti (SPL Basti) for comprehensive arthritis management.
Basti therapy, including specific types like Janu Basti and Griva Basti, holds promise in alleviating arthritis pain and improving joint health. While clinical evidence supporting its efficacy is emerging, further research is warranted to validate its benefits conclusively. Individuals considering Basti treatment for arthritis at Ayurvedic hospitals in Delhi, such as Patanjali Hospital, should seek guidance from qualified Ayurvedic practitioners to ensure safe and effective therapy tailored to their needs. As alternative therapies gain recognition in arthritis management, exploring holistic approaches like Basti, including Janu Basti and Griva Basti, could offer new avenues for improving the quality of life in individuals living with this chronic condition.

MAJOR update finished for Kas. Decided to leave albinism purely for their baby brother Janus. Like with Sebastian, I'll draw their dragonic forms sometime later.
Bio below:
Age: 29
Nicknames: Kas (Sebastian/Janus) Boss/teach (His pupil Gianna)
Family: Older twin brother Sebastian, baby teenager brother Janus, estranged parents, aunt Amalia Marek
Friends: Shinji Yoma (A Dream eater that runs his favorite cafe) Franziska Belmont (A cat witch who is the manager of a popsinger he's designed outfits for) Taiga, Laurent Delune (friends of his older brother whom he's also on friendly terms with) Alois (Quinn's brother and his closest friend)
Student: Gianna Aquila, an upcoming designer he's mentoring.
Love interest: None (he is aro/ace)
Occupation: Clothes designer for a popular brand in his city/Mirror World in general & mentor for a young upcoming designer
Abilities:
He can transform into a partial or full wyvern, though his form is smaller and skinnier than most. He is very fast in this form though, faster than majority of other wyverns. He can also breathe fire in this form and fly, of course.
He can use his fire element even in human form, due to having more mage heritage in him than Sebastian. (Sebastian has to transform at least partially to access it)
Summoning spells: He can summon any object or person he knows to himself, or summon nature spirits to help him. (Sometimes he does have to bargain with them as he can't really command them directly like his baby brother)
He's a good designer that takes into accordance the needs of different beings/what materials work with what and which purpose/being a good and patient mentor
Personality:
Kaspian is someone very passionate about his craft, and while he's mostly pretty well mannered and polite, he can get really worked up about what he perceives as someone not doing their craft properly (theft, rip-offs, lazy designing just to make money, etc) or someone treating newbies poorly, sometimes to the point his wyvern heritage shines through and his insults and threats get extremely brutal and sassy, something that tends to catch people off-guard given how pleasant he is normally. He definitely has the rumoured "artistic temper"
He has mentored couple other people before his current student, and every student pretty much describes him as "Patient but strict mentor, who seems like the most well-mannered person you've ever met, then suddenly turns around and threatens to strangle you with your own insides if you speak bad enough of his students or brothers." or, to put it shorter, "A character of some sort. A likable, helpful one, but definitely A Character," A sentiment his current student Gia agrees with.
Weaknesses:
His summoning spells aren't as powerful as Janus', so he often has to bargain and argue with the spirits he summons, given he can't just command them automatically.
He has some trauma due to the childhood near-decapitation incident, and tends to not like people touching his neck without warning, sometimes even lashing out reflexively if they do so (surprise hugs are a no-go basically). He has nightmares about it sometimes too leading to bouts of insomnia.
He's not the most durable wyvern, and runs out of stamina in that form pretty fast if engaged in combat. (His speed durability is better) This makes sense though, given he rarely has to do things like this, unlike Sebastian who tends to end up in fights a lot.
Fun Facts
Like Sebastian, he is super protective over his baby brother, even willing to join his twin on heists to help Janus, even if normally he'd roll his eyes at Basti's antics
Sometimes he does wish he was stronger than he is physically, feeling envious of Sebastian who still can deck guys or gals twice his size with ease.
Alois is his best friend, given these two are similar and seem to be on the same wavelength, understanding each other with just a look. They are also both Aro/Ace, another detail they share. (Alois is much less flamboyant and calmer than Kas though/less polite and more blunt)
His personal style is best described as "basics with colorful statement pieces included, often with retro/vintage vibes. Also lotta red"
Gia initially questioned if he was a wyvern in the first place due to his frame and seemingly notable lack of the typical wyvern temper and pride initially, but then saw him beat the shit outta people bullying his baby brother, concluding that yes, he's still a wyvern.
His lighter scales and lighter hair are a result of their father's albinism genes.
His bad eyesight also comes from their father, although Wyverns don't rely on sight as much as humans do, they have very good other senses. Kaspian just prefers using glasses in human form, because it does make his job easier, that requires more specific detailed work, something good eyesight is more useful for.
He does have normal, non-tinted glasses for work, he just enjoys wearing colorful ones. (it is not uncommon in this realm to even have prescription glasses with tinted lenses; many even are magical where you can change the color or make them clear if necessary)

Effective and Holistic Knee Pain Treatment in Andheri
Knee pain can disrupt your daily life, making simple activities like walking, climbing stairs, or even sitting challenging. Fortunately, for those in Andheri, Valkhades Ayurvedic offers a comprehensive and holistic approach to Knee Pain Treatment in Andheri. They use traditional Ayurvedic methods that aim to address the root cause of knee pain, ensuring long-lasting relief.
Understanding Knee Pain
Knee pain can affect people of all ages. The common causes range from injuries such as sprains and ligament tears to chronic conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and tendonitis. Sometimes, poor posture, lack of exercise, or excess weight can also contribute to knee pain. While conventional treatment often relies on painkillers and surgical interventions, Ayurveda offers a natural and non-invasive alternative.
Valkhades Ayurvedic emphasizes the importance of identifying the underlying cause rather than merely alleviating the symptoms. They focus on balancing the body’s natural energies, known as doshas, and bringing about holistic healing. Their knee pain treatment in Andheri involves a blend of therapies, herbal medicines, and lifestyle modifications that can help restore the knee’s strength and mobility.
Ayurvedic Approach to Knee Pain Treatment
Ayurveda views knee pain as a result of imbalances in the body’s doshas, particularly Vata dosha. According to Ayurveda, Vata is responsible for the body’s movement and function. When Vata is imbalanced, it can lead to joint pain, stiffness, and swelling. Valkhades Ayurvedic addresses these imbalances using time-tested techniques, making them a popular choice for knee pain treatment in Andheri.
1. Panchakarma Therapy
One of the most effective Ayurvedic treatments for knee pain is Panchakarma therapy. This detoxification process helps remove toxins (ama) from the body and restores dosha balance. It includes various techniques such as Abhyanga (oil massage), Swedana (herbal steam therapy), and Vasti (medicated enema), which are aimed at alleviating inflammation and pain in the joints.
2. Herbal Medication
Herbs like Ashwagandha, Shallaki (Boswellia), Guggulu, and Nirgundi are often recommended for knee pain relief. These herbs have anti-inflammatory properties and help strengthen the joints. Valkhades Ayurvedic creates personalized herbal formulations based on the individual’s dosha constitution, ensuring the most effective treatment for knee pain.
3. Diet and Lifestyle Recommendations
Ayurveda places a strong emphasis on the right diet and lifestyle. The experts at Valkhades Ayurvedic suggest a diet that is anti-inflammatory, easy to digest, and nourishing for the joints. They recommend foods that pacify the Vata dosha and avoid items that can increase ama in the body. Regular exercise, yoga, and stretching routines are also advised to improve flexibility and maintain joint health.
4. External Therapies
Apart from Panchakarma, external therapies like Pizhichil, Janu Basti, and Lepanam are particularly beneficial for knee pain. Pizhichil involves pouring warm medicated oil over the body to alleviate pain and inflammation. Janu Basti focuses specifically on the knee joint, where a ring of dough is placed around the knee and filled with warm herbal oil, allowing deep penetration into the affected area. Lepanam involves applying a paste of medicated herbs to the knee, which helps reduce swelling and discomfort.
Benefits of Ayurvedic Knee Pain Treatment
Choosing Ayurvedic knee pain treatment in Andheri offers several benefits:
Natural and Non-Invasive: The treatments are free from side effects as they rely on natural herbs, oils, and therapies.
Long-Lasting Relief: By addressing the root cause of the pain, Ayurveda offers long-term relief and improved joint function.

3. Pinda Sweda (Herbal Poultice Therapy): In Pinda Sweda, a warm poultice filled with medicinal herbs is applied to the knee. The heat and therapeutic properties of the herbs help to alleviate pain, reduce swelling, and improve joint flexibility. This treatment is particularly effective for chronic knee pain.
4. Basti Therapy: Basti, or medicated enema, is a detoxification treatment that targets Vata dosha imbalances, often responsible for joint pain. By cleansing the colon and balancing Vata, Basti can provide significant relief from knee pain, especially in cases of arthritis.
5. Herbal Remedies: Ayurvedic herbs such as Shallaki (Boswellia), Guggulu, and Ashwagandha are known for their anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. These herbs can be taken internally in the form of tablets or powders, or used externally in medicated oils and pastes to relieve knee pain.
Integrating these Ayurvedic treatments can help manage knee pain effectively. For personalized treatment plans and expert guidance, consulting an Ayurvedic physician is essential. (OUTDATED DESIGNS)
Finally finished all of these. I used Kaspian's old ref file to just redraw his outfit and hair, so the pose/anatomy looks a bit wonk compared to his siblings.
Their full info below:
Names: Kravchenko siblings Sebastian, Kaspian, and Janus
Nicknames:
Sebastian: Bass, Seb, Basti
Kaspian: Kas, Rattles (this one is mainly used by Hanabi to annoy him)
Janus: Jan, vampire boy (his brothers & Hanabi, jokingly)
Ages: 31 (sebastian) 26 (Janus & Kaspian)
Height: 185 cm (Sebastian) 171 cm (Kaspian) 168 cm (Janus)
Brothers & Children of late demon hunters and descendants of a Soul Eater, who were taken in by a fellow hunter Vincent after their parents died and the boys were infected by a mysterious demonic power.
Role: Honorary sons of Vincent & Haname, help with training the protagonists.
Family: adoptive father figure Vincent, honorary mother Haname, honorary little sister Hanabi
Love Interest: Only Sebastian has one (currently) the shapeshifting feline and Haname's familiar, Quinn
Friends: Ayame, a snow woman guardian spirit of their family, Erena Mizuka, a head priestess/water woman of a nearby temple. Shou Morikawa, Vincent's latest protege.
Powers:
General: their demonic powers has made them all generally stronger, faster, and more durable than an average human would be. Their reptilian type also grants them some generic shapeshift abilities related to their type; claws, horns, wings, snake fangs etc.
Hunter training: all three are versatile with Hunter weaponry, from magic firing pistols to enchanted blades. They all also know many different useful spells and curses to exorcise demonic/hostile spirits. They all of course are trained in close combat too. Each brother does have a specific area they excel at, though.
Sebastian: He is the best at close combat and is the strongest and most durable. His Wyvern-type grants him the special ability to control an element, which typically would be fire. However, just like with Janus, their Soul Eater heritage had an effect on this, making him use lightning instead. (Because the ancestor was element-type Soul Eater, whose element happened to be storm) Sebastian has really fine-tuned his electricity abilities, where he can use them both in small- and large scale. From lightning bolts to being able to have an effect on one's nerve system signals.
Kaspian: Kaspian is the most flexible out of the three and has a very acrobatic fighting style. His Basilisk-type ability allows him to paralyze people with his gaze. He's also the most skilled shapeshifter and is actually able to shapeshift even his clothes, for a disguise or just if he feels like it.
Janus: Janus is the fastest out of them, and also smartest so he tends to utilize long-range weapons and stealth the most when fighting. His special ability is not connected to his Aura shape at all however, but comes from their bloodline that Reverence activated; he is able to draw life force out from other Reverence-infected beings, as sort of a mutated version of Soul eating/reversal of Reverence power itself. He is also the only human demon/infected who can infect others.
WEAKNESSES:
Sebastian: He's very hard-headed sometimes, and overprotective over his younger siblings to a point he doesn't always trust even his closest friends with their safety, leading to a lot of arguing. Because of his lightning element, his brain is actually a bit overactive and causes him to struggle with aggression issues and difficulty to focus, because he constantly feels like he's on high alert and sensing too much stuff at once.
Kaspian: He's reckless and doesn't always think before he acts, getting himself injured needlessly. His Basilisk power is somewhat hard to control, where he sometimes might risk paralyzing an ally/friend, and if he charges it too much he can accidentally cause a stroke.
Janus: Janus is not exactly the most social and struggles to just talking to people, often preferring to ignore them entirely. His health has always been pretty bad, and even now he tends to get sick easily. He's pretty afraid of his Life Essence-Draining powers, so much so that he might hesitate to use it even when he really needs to. He's not good with close combat either, not liking getting up and personal with his opponent as he finds it too dangerous.
(Generally, their demonic powers are weaker against light magic.)
PERSONALITY:
Sebastian: He seems like a pretty chill and relaxed young man most of the time, not getting bothered over small slights or insults. He tries to always be kind to people weaker than him, especially if they seem scared of him at first. In truth, this is learned behavior as his element powers cause him to be constantly on the edge, and if he's on a bad mood he can get quite aggressive and harsh.
He is very protective over his siblings though, and does not tolerate any sort of bullying towards them. He's generally calm and polite, but always gives people the feeling he's just seconds away from becoming absolutely unhinged and doing something insane (and scary) which to be fair, they are absolutely right about.
Kaspian: Kaspian is very outgoing and flamboyant, enjoying being the center of attention. He is very dramatic and often gets called a "theater kid" due to his antics.
While he can be a bit frustrating to people sometimes, he's a very reliable friend and brother, putting any petty issues aside to help/protect those he cares for. Kaspian is also capable of taking things seriously when he needs to, contrary to what some may believe. He is a very fun friend to have, you'll never be bored around him
Janus: Janus is the "gifted" child of the family, having always been incredibly intelligent for his age. He picks up on new things very quickly and is capable of processing a lot of information at once.
While smart, he really struggles with socializing and tends to be very awkward around strangers, typically wanting to avoid them altogether. He's also quite emotional and gets easily frustrated with himself when failing at something. Even though Seb and Kas tend to annoy him a lot, he loves his siblings dearly as they help keep him grounded if he starts panicking.
FUN FACTS:
People often think Janus is younger than he is, given his youthful appearance. This does annoy him occasionally, but ultimately he doesn't care about appearances enough to try and look older
Janus' strength tends to surprise people, as he doesn't look like the kind of person who could kick both of his brothers out of his room with ease, but he very much is capable of that.
Sebastian is a good singer and often hums songs from their homeland, and when asked for the lyrics, tends to claim they're something really fucked up - which tends to be true too sometimes, but not always.
Sebastian and Quinn are both sometimes jokingly called "blonde menaces to society" by Kaspian, given they're both seemingly chill people who can actually be quite dangerous/scary if they want to be.
Kaspian often complains that Quinn - Sebastian's bf - has no style, and tries to get the cat to let him design something for him. Quinn always refuses and doesn't really care about his complaints.
Kaspian's glasses aren't for vision as he sees fine; they are enchanted and help him manage his Basilisk gaze ability.
Their clothes are typically made by Kaspian with Haname's help, as he is an excellent tailor.
Kaspian is Aro/Ace, Sebastian is Bi, and Janus is Demiromantic pan
They all generally combine the local style with their homeland clothing. Only Janus tends to stick mostly to outfits mainly inspired by their homeland.
Their human-based special skills are; Kaspian's tailoring/designer skills, Sebastian's singing voice and generally good musical ear, and Janus' vast knowledge about different topics.
Kaspian has the most outfits, the main theme connecting them all being he prefers greens and blues.
Janus has a shit ton of books in his room, in 3 different languages since he speaks and reads 3 fluently. (His native, Vincent's native, and Haname's native. Basically this world's equivalents of Polish, English and Japanese)
Sebastian stores a lot of their parents old tools and Hunter notes, and is often seen reading them.
BG STORY
The three brothers were sons of a fairly competent demon hunters in their home country. Kaspian and Janus were born with albinism, and tended to get weird looks from locals occasionally. Janus was also quite sickly, which was the main reason both of their parents retired from hunting, to look after their young children properly. Sebastian looked after his little siblings a lot as well, and grew very protective over them, especially Janus.
Then, one day around the twins' seventh birthday, a snake Reverence demon ended up attacking their family, killing their parents and infecting the 3 children with its power. Sebastian manages to kill the snake, moments before a fellow Demon Hunter who'd been after this creature finds them.
This man, Vincent McCormac takes pity on the freshly orphaned kids, and sets out to find a way to undo the curse put on them, realizing the kids probably would not survive on their own now that people saw them as demons. He also continues to train Sebastian like his parents had, and the twins join these sessions eventually.
After roughly year and a half of not much progress in undoing their curses, and with Sebastian's struggles with his element-induced anger issues worsening, the four eventually made their way abroad across the seas, to the land they currently live in.
They’d heard rumors that this country was much more experienced with things like demon curses and magic and potentially the source of the boys' infection, so Vincent decided to take the risk and travel far away with the boys in hopes for a solution.
After a while of them arriving there, Vincent met a local witch named Haname Hikari, who wanted to help the boys learn to control their powers better at least. The two eventually end up falling in love, and the boys stay with Vincent at her house, becoming her new family and big brother figures for their baby girl, Hanabi. Sebastian also develops a romantic relationship with the feline shapeshifter that appears in their home after a while, a bakeneko Vincent names "Quinn." This relationship seems to help him learn to handle his difficult temper better, as Quinn has a calming effect on him.
