Reprobate
Strong's G96(Adokimos) Definition: failing to pass the test, unapproved, counterfeit
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Jeremiah 6:30 Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.
Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being (abominable), and (disobedient), and unto every good work (reprobate).
2 Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, (reprobate concerning the faith).
Isaiah 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
Below same word Adokimos G96 and it's translated as castaway
1 Corinthians 9:27 (But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection): lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a (castaway).
Same G96 Adokimos translated rejected
Hebrews 6:8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
Romans 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
God gave them over to a reprobate mind
Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a (reprobate mind), to do those things which are not convenient;
Romans 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Romans 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

People will turn away from God in the last days
1 Let me tell you this. During the last days of this world, there will be times of great trouble. 2 People will love only themselves, and they will want lots of money for themselves. They will be proud and they will say how great they are. They will insult other people. They will not obey their parents. They will not thank anyone who helps them. They will not respect anything that is good. 3 They will not be kind to other people, but they will like to quarrel. They will tell lies to hurt other people. They will be unable to control themselves properly. They will be cruel and they will hate anything that is good. 4 People will turn against their friends. They will do foolish things. They will boast that they are very important. They will not love God, but instead they will only want to enjoy themselves. 5 Those people will seem to be serving God. But really they refuse to accept God's power to help them. You must stay away from people like that.
6 Among those people, there are some men who find a way into people's homes. They get power over silly women who feel very guilty about their sins. Those women want to do wrong things and they cannot stop themselves. 7 They are always trying to learn new things, but they can never really understand God's true message. 8 These are people who speak against God's true message, in the same way that Jannes and Jambres spoke against Moses. Their minds have become confused. The way that they serve God is false. 9 But they will not continue to do many more bad things. Everyone will see clearly that they are fools. That is what happened to Jannes and Jambres.
Timothy must copy Paul's example
10 But you, Timothy, have heard my message and you know it well. You also know the way in which I have lived. You know my purpose in life. You know how I trust God. You know how patient I have been. You know my love for God and for other people. You know that I have been strong during troubles. 11 You also know what happened to me in the cities called Antioch, Iconium and Lystra. People caused me to have a lot of trouble and pain in those places. But I was patient and brave in those bad troubles! And the Lord kept me safe in all those dangerous times.
12 It is not only me. Every Christian who wants to live in a way that pleases God will have trouble from other people. 13 Bad people like that will become even worse. Some of them will teach a false message and people will believe their lies. Those false teachers even believe their own lies!
It is important for us to know the Bible
14 But you must continue to believe the things that you have learned. You know that those things are true. You know the teachers who taught you those things. 15 Even when you were a child, you already knew the message of the Bible. The Bible has taught you how you can be truly wise. You understand that God saves you because you believe in Christ Jesus. 16 Everything that is written in the Bible comes from God's Spirit. It helps us in many ways. The Bible teaches us what is true. It warns us when we are doing wrong things. It shows us what is right. It teaches us how to live good lives. 17 As a result, people who want to serve God can know how to live properly. They will be people who are ready to do all kinds of good things. — 2 Timothy 3 | EasyEnglish Bible (EASY) EasyEnglish Bible Copyright MissionAssist 2019 - Charitable Incorporated Organisation 1162807. “What happened to the art of stepping into the shoes of another and trying to experience life from their perspective? Not many remember to walk in another’s shoes, but only to judge from their own imperfect understanding. The world has gone mad and forgotten love, mercy, and forgiveness. We have forgotten how to view ourselves as no better than another. What happened to the teachings of the Lord that some of us knew as children? Oh the tears that Jesus must weep over this world. The Words of the book of Jude and Timothy testify against us. Listen. . . Jesus said they will know us by our fruit. Will He find any fruit at all?” (Author Unknown)
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭9
“But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries. Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves. Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. (‭‭Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬-‭13)

Godlessness in the Last Days
1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. 6 For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, 7 always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. 9 But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.

This passage from 2 Timothy feels especially relevant in these times, especially 3:5. With so many people using God as an excuse for their hatred, I feel an obligation to set the record straight; I cannot let the false prophets win.
When Jesus’ sermon on the mount is derided for being radically liberal, consider the possibility that God is radically liberal.
[Note: according to a footnote, Jannes and Jambres were the “magicians” in Pharaoh’s court who tried to match the feats of Moses]

Quite Time 2/28
What am I feeling today?
I just wish I had gone to bed earlier. I’m very tired and know I have a long day ahead of me. I also didn’t finish all my work so I’m stressed about a couple of those deadlines🥲
Sermon: The Lord Declares War! (Part 3/3)
Exodus 5:22 NIV
“Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Why, Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Is this why you sent me?”
we can relate to Moses here (why would God send us to do His work when it doesn't turn out the way we planned?) We can get discouraged and in our own head about it but keep reminding yourself that God’s plan is far greater than we can ever imagine for ourselves.
2) God Declares War on Counterfeit Imitations of the Truth!
ask yourself: am I fighting God in in any way? In what este/areas of my life and I resisting Him? Is there still something I’m holding on to?
I can get moody and distant. I can let how I’m feeling take control of me instead of being in control of my emotions.
Exodus 7:1-7 NIV
“Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country. But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt, he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites. And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.” Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord commanded them. Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.”
This plagues were meant to humble the Egyptians (leading the question of whether we declare war on false doctrines - bc they had their many gods) not that many people want to be entertained and not saved.
Lastly, I do wonder why it says God hardened Pharaoh’s heart. I believe it’s been explained to me but I don’t remember and wonder why? Why do that? Since He had the power to harden, why didn’t He choose to soften? Or would that just not have worked in the grand scheme of things?
1 Timothy 1:3-8 NIV
“As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work—which is by faith. The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm. We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.”
The law is good if we know how to use it properly! No false teachings! There are some people that claim to teach of Jesus and Christianity but it is not biblically sound and therefore is a false teaching.
2 Timothy 3:7-9 NIV
“always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.”
With those In sin, we are meant to call them out (in love) and even here is an example of calling out people by name.
Romans 8:1-4 NIV
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”
Communion: what does the cross mean to [……]?
To him it meant liberation!

General Huy Headcanons
Tumblr media
Some Prince of Egypt head canons for my favourite sillyguy magical man informed by historical and literary accounts of Ancient Egyptian culture, the Tanakh, and apocrypha.
Huy's name is for the girls—and the boys. It’s unisex!
Hui or Huy was an ancient Egyptian name, frequently a nickname for Amenhotep. Famous bearers include: Huy, priestess during the Eighteenth dynasty, mother-in-law of Thutmose III; Huy, High Priest of Ptah during the reign of Ramesses II; Huy, viceroy of Kush during the reign of Ramesses II. [source]
Huy was actually a high priest of Ptah.
Huy was a High Priest of Ptah during the reign of Ramesses II. Huy is known from two shabtis (now in the Louvre) dedicated at an Apis burial in the Serapeum of Saqqara. The Apis burials are dated to years 16 and 30.[1] Huy may have served as High priest of Ptah from approximately year 2 to year 20 of the reign of Ramesses II. Huy was succeeded by Pahemnetjer. In pop culture, One of the advisors to Pharaoh in The Prince of Egypt (1998) is named Huy. [source]
Huy is based on the actual Egyptian magician in the Book of Exodus/Shmot who is named Jambres.
Jannes and Jambres, two legendary Egyptian sorcerers whose names appear in various sources as the adversaries of Moses. Jewish tradition seems to identify them with the sorcerers mentioned in Exodus 7:11... The names also appear in pagan Greek and Roman literature. Both Pliny (Natural History, 30:11) and Apuleius (Apologia, 90) mention the name of Jannes only, the former including him in a list of Jewish sorcerers the first of whom is Moses, while the latter names him immediately after Moses in a list of famous magicians. Both Jannes and Jambres… are mentioned and discussed in detail by Numenius, the neo-Pythagorean philosopher (quoted in Eusebius, Praeparatio Evangelica, 9:8; cf. Origines, Contra Celsum, 4:51). They are described as Egyptian priests who excelled in wizardry at the period of the "expulsion" of the Jews from Egypt and as having been considered by the Egyptians capable of rescuing their country from the disasters brought upon it by Musaeus (Moses). [source]
Huy was full-time as opposed to part-time since he was the high priest.
With the exception of the high priest, most priests worked only part-time.  The priesthood was divided into "hours" and served only one month out of every four. The rest of the time, they lived their normal lives in society, often working as mid-level bureaucrats. [source]
He lived in the temple complex.
During their religious service, priests lived within the complex of the temples of their deity. [source]
His beard is an accessory! He shaves completely every 3 days, but he can still wear hair as a fashion choice. Slay!
Oddly, though, they also retained a fascination for facial hair, or at least the appearance of having some. The Egyptians took shorn hair and sheep's wool and fashioned them into wigs and fake beards — which, even more oddly, were sometimes worn by Egyptian queens as well as kings [source: Dunn]. The fake beards had various shapes, to indicate the dignity and social position of their wearer. Ordinary citizens wore small fake beards about 2 inches (5 centimeters) long, while kings wore their phony whiskers to extravagant lengths and had them trimmed to be square at the end. [source]
His shoes were woven and made of papyrus.
Footwear was the same for both sexes. It consisted of coiled sewn sandals of leatherwork, or for the priestly class, papyrus. Since Egyptians were usually barefoot, sandals were worn on special occasions or at times when their feet might get hurt. [source]
Huy has his own apocryphon that was said to have been written by one of Pharaoh’s officials. Surviving fragments of this apocryphon tells of the adventures of him and his brother. He survives all the plagues, runs away with the Hebrews during the red sea adventure, and converts to Judaism. He has a sad backstory because he has to bury his mother and brother.
Jannes names Jambres as his successor and entrusts him with a secret document. He warns him not to accompany the Egyptian army when it marches against the Hebrews… The Egyptian army is drowned in the Red Sea while pursuing the Hebrews, but Jambres stayed away. Jannes's condition worsens and the family returns to their estate. [source]
All info in block quotes belongs to each respective linked source. A proper references page is on the way.

2 Timothy 3:1-13
King James Version
3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

365 Proverbs for Daily Living
Day 4 – Fear of the Lord
Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. (Pro 1:7 NLT)
Read: 2 Timothy 3:1-9
Mankind has been searching for knowledge from the very beginning. It began with the very first mistake, when Eve decided to acquire the Knowledge of Good and Evil. And we’ve been a curious race ever since. Always questing for answers. Always learning about the universe around us, but denying anything we might find in the bible.
Tumblr media
My wife and I were watching ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’ during the recent holiday season, and when the episode was over, it rolled us immediately into a recommended program about the evidence for the Great Flood, called, “Beyond Is Genesis History” with Dr. Del Tackett. It’s scary how much Amazon knows about us and our viewing habits, but it drives them to present better choices to us, and this one was excellent. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it.
Tumblr media
In the show, Tackett takes the viewer on a journey of discovery, looking for extra-biblical evidence for the great flood. There’s a shocking amount, actually. Fossils of sea creatures in the Rockies and Himalayas. The layered strata in the Grand Canyon and other places around the planet. Polystrate fossils of trees that intersect many layers of strata. Existence of a Flood in mythology across many different belief systems and spanning continents.
Tumblr media
A catastrophic worldwide event like this is bound to, and DID, leave massive amounts of evidence. Evidence of God’s terrible judgment on a generation that was recorded as only thinking about evil, continually. It should inspire a great deal of awe, respect, and a holy fear of a Creator who can destroy what he created in a moment.
It does beg the question, though, why such a documentary is so important, when the bible clearly tells the story of the flood? The answer is because many people refuse to believe the bible, and reject this story as just another myth in a book of lies.
Mankind has certainly learned a lot over the ages, and so much more in the last hundred years. We’ve launched men into space, planted a flag on the moon, placed telescopes in orbit to present the wonders of the far reaches of space. We’ve delved to the depths of the oceans. We’ve discovered and charted DNA. We’ve harnessed the power of the atom, and discovered cures for a myriad of diseases and ailments.
But it seems that in our quest for knowledge, we’ve forgotten, or lost our sense of NEED, for God. Like the magicians serving Pharoah at the time of the Exodus, Jannes and Jambres, we don’t need God to turn water into blood. It seems we can do that, too. Yet even the magicians finally came to Pharoah and told him they couldn’t replicate God’s work, and that the plague attacking them was the ‘finger of God’.
The evidence that the bible is true is all around us. The complexities of our DNA should tell us that a programmer did that. The beauty of flowers in a meadow should point us to their beautiful creator. The wonder and power locked in every atom should give us pause at our hubris, at attempting to ‘undo’ what God has created, and the terrible ramifications of that.
Tumblr media
I once saw a rainbow with an atheist friend of mine. In an attempt to communicate the wonder of it to him, I asked what he saw displayed there. He told me it was ‘just a rainbow.’ He asked what I saw when I looked at it. I told him that I saw every color in the visible spectrum laid out there, on display, and the beauty of God’s handiwork. I also saw a promise in it, a promise to never again flood this whole earth, as we’ve just been discussing. My friend responded by shrugging, and replied, that all he saw was refracted light, something anybody could create with a prism.
Tumblr media
It painted a depressing and dismal picture to me, really, of the jaded and colorless existence the atheist might feel, giving up a depth of wonder and awe, trading it for a worldly and sterile perspective. I decided in that moment, to begin studying more, not so much in the bland and dry textbooks detailing man’s limited knowledge of this universe, but in the Word of God, which focuses more on the Creator than the Creation, the spiritual realm than the physical, my position as a sinner more than my pride as a scientist, and my need for a savior so much more than my need for significance.
So, as we unpack these Proverbs, dear Christian, let’s commit together to search for wisdom, and true knowledge, knowledge of the Holy One. And this begins with a healthy respect for the God who made us, and a willingness to accept, and not despise, any discipline our loving Father gives us.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to seek more of you, and less of me, today. Amen

2 Timothy 3:1-15 NLT
You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! They are the kind who work their way into people’s homes and win the confidence of vulnerable women who are burdened with the guilt of sin and controlled by various desires. (Such women are forever following new teachings, but they are never able to understand the truth.) These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith. But they won’t get away with this for long. Someday everyone will recognize what fools they are, just as with Jannes and Jambres. But you, Timothy, certainly know what I teach, and how I live, and what my purpose in life is. You know my faith, my patience, my love, and my endurance. You know how much persecution and suffering I have endured. You know all about how I was persecuted in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra—but the Lord rescued me from all of it. Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived. But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.

Charles Spurgeon's "Morning & Evening" Devotional for December 8
Morning
“Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
2 Timothy 2
2 Timothy 2:1-4
Soldiers must be free from other business, and it is well for ministers not to encumber themselves with any other pursuit, but give themselves wholly to their Master’s work. If so, their people must see that they are supplied with all they need, even as a nation sees that its soldiers have their rations and all other necessaries.
2 Timothy 2:8 , 2 Timothy 2:9
This was his consolation, he was bound, but the gospel was not.
2 Timothy 2:10-13
Here we have another Christian proverb, and in fact a hymn of the early church. It should be learned by heart, and often quoted by us.
2 Timothy 2:14-16
We must keep clear of mystifyings, spiritualizings, traditions, and idle controversies. Plain sailing is best for Christian men.
2 Timothy 2:19
The sentences inscribed upon the seal are precious and practical: there is the secret of the Lord, and the open manifestation of it. Election and holiness are bosom companions.
2 Timothy 2:20 , 2 Timothy 2:21
Fit to be used of God! Is not this a glorious condition? Prepared not for some good work, but for every good work! Is not this a grand attainment? Let us aim at this, and never rest till we reach it.
2 Timothy 2:22-26
Leave theories for those who like them, and by the grace of God, love and live the realities of religion, whatever they may cost you.
Grant, oh, grant thy Spirit’s teaching,
That I may not go astray,
Till, the gate of heaven reaching,
Earth and sin are pass’d away!
Evening
“Continue thou in the things which thou hast learned.”
2 Timothy 3
2 Timothy 3:1-5
These persons will be in the church, and trouble it exceedingly. Many such are already around us, and they are on the increase: it is little use controverting with them, or seeking to set them right: we had better leave them to their own devices, and as they are in the Lord’s hands he will know how to deal with them.
2 Timothy 3:6 , 2 Timothy 3:7
These deceivers acted like Jesuits, spreading their doctrine secretly among the weaker sort. Truth fears not the light, but falsehood is a night bird, and flies abroad by stealth. If any religious teacher asks us to conceal from our friends what he has told us, we may be sure that he is good for nothing.
2 Timothy 3:8
Jannes and Jambres Pharaoh’s magicians
2 Timothy 3:9
Paul laid bare the deceitful workings of the false teachers, boldly exposing them. However gentle we may be, we must not allow falsehood to be secretly spread, but must drag it to the light, and smite it till it dies.
2 Timothy 3:12
Christ’s soldiers must expect hard blows. The cross is always to be borne by those who trust in the Crucified: it is idle and mean to endeavour to escape it.
“Must I be carried to the skies
On flowery beds of ease
While others fought to win the prize
And sailed through bloody seas?”
2 Timothy 3:13
There is no mending them, they must go on to the bitter end. Terrible will be their doom.
2 Timothy 3:14 , 2 Timothy 3:15
Happy Timothy to be thus prepared for the conflict with error! Happier still to be enabled by grace to remain steadfast in that truth which from a child he had been taught. Yet he needed to be exhorted to steadfastness, and so do we. Never, never may any one of us give ear to false doctrine, but may we cling to the gospel with all our might.
2 Timothy 3:16 , 2 Timothy 3:17
Never let us forget this. The whole of the Bible is inspired, and is to be devoutly received as the infallible truth of God. Get away from this, and we have nothing left to hold by. Whatever we do, let us never give up the Bible. Those who would weaken our reverence for it are our worst enemies.
‘Tis in cleaving to thee only,
That my spirit finds its rest;
‘Tis while gazing on thy beauty,
I am truly, fully blest.
Keep me then, Lord Jesus, near thee,
Resting in thy precious love;
Till thine unveiled presence cheer me,
In thine own blest courts above.

THE BIBLE BOOK OF GOD
New Testament
2 Timothy 3
Godlessness in the Last Days
3 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.
All Scripture Is Breathed Out by God
10 You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, 11 my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra—which persecutions I endured; yet from them all the Lord rescued me. 12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it 15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

JEWISH FALSE PROPHETS, SORCERERS AND EXORCISTS -- KJV (King James Version) Bible Verse List Visit https://www.billkochman.com/VerseLists/ to see more. "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Matthew 24:24, KJV "For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect." Mark 13:22, KJV "But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done . . . And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me." Acts 8:9-13, 18-24, KJV "And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand." Acts 13:6-11, KJV "Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded." Acts 19:13-16, KJV "Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was." 2 Timothy 3:8-9, KJV "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12, KJV If you would like more info regarding the origin of these KJV Bible verse lists, go to https://www.billkochman.com/VerseLists/. II Timothy 3:6-9 NKJV
[6] For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, [7] always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. [8] Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; [9] but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
