BJP Crosses Majority in Haryana Assembly Elections 

In a significant development in the Haryana Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has crossed the halfway mark, positioning itself for a potential victory in the state. As the votes continue to be counted, the BJP has secured enough seats to claim the majority in the 90-member assembly, according to early trends. This marks a major success for the ruling party in Haryana, which has been a BJP stronghold in recent years. 

BJP's Strong Performance 

The BJP, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, has been able to retain its dominant position in the state, fending off a tough challenge from regional parties and the opposition Congress. The party's campaign, which focused on the development initiatives undertaken during its previous term, as well as issues of nationalism and governance, resonated with voters across urban and rural areas. 

As of the latest counts, the BJP has managed to secure over 46 seats, which crosses the crucial halfway mark in the assembly, ensuring a comfortable majority. Political observers have pointed out that the BJP's ability to gain significant support in key constituencies has been crucial in its march toward victory. 

Opposition Struggles to Gain Ground 

The Indian National Congress (INC), led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Haryana, was expected to mount a stronger challenge. However, despite a well-orchestrated campaign focused on agrarian issues, unemployment, and alleged governance failures of the BJP, the Congress has struggled to convert its campaign momentum into electoral victories. Early results suggest that the party is trailing behind the BJP by a significant margin. 

Other regional players like the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) have also found it difficult to make a substantial impact, with their vote shares being largely concentrated in specific regions. The JJP, in particular, was considered a potential kingmaker in the event of a hung assembly, but with the BJP crossing the majority threshold, that possibility now seems unlikely.

As the final results of the Haryana Assembly elections are expected later today, the BJP's victory is seen as a reinforcement of its strong position in northern India. Chief Minister Khattar, who is now set for a second term, is expected to continue with the BJP's development agenda while addressing the demands of various sections of the population.

Arvind Kejriwal cleared the air, will not contest in the association INDIA bloc in Haryana

Leader of Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday made an announcement saying that he will contest alone on all 90 seats in the Haryana assembly elections. He further added that for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, AAP will come forward with INDIA Alliance.

"For the upcoming Lok Sabha elections we will contest elections together with the INDIA alliance but for the assembly elections, we will contest alone on all 90 seats of Haryana by itself," he said.

The Delhi CM was addressing the 'Badlaav Jan Sabha' in Haryana's Jind when he made the statement.

"Today, AAP is the largest group in Haryana compared to other political parties like Congress, the BJP, and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). There is a committee of 15-20 people in every village and ward. There are nearly 1.25 lakh office-bearers of the party in Haryana. This has been achieved in the last six months," Kejriwal added.

Talking about the current Bihar Political landscape Kejriwal said, "People have been disillusioned with every party in Haryana. Every political party that ruled Haryana in the last 75 years only thought about their own family. They accumulated enough money for their next seven generations. Today, people believe only in one political party. That is AAP."

He concluded his statement by saying that the people of Punjab and Delhi the neighboring states of Haryana, "are very happy with the work of the AAP."

The statement came in the backdrop of Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar severing his ties with the grand alliance in Bihar and rejoining the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Dushyant’s JJP seals alliance with Azad Samaj Party for Haryana polls

In a pre-poll alliance, Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) and Chandra Shekhar Azad’s Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) on Tuesday formed an alliance for the 90 Assembly seats in Haryana that will go to the polls on October 1.

Out of 90 seats, Dushyant Chautala’s JJP, an offshoot of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), will contest on 70 seats and the Azad Samaj Party on the remaining ones.
