Someone on TikTok said it’s “weird behavior” to assume Nancy ended the series with Jonathan, because she “doesn’t need” either Steve or Jonathan. 😭

the "mike can't say ily because he comes from a loveless family" argument really makes no sense

they cite nancy having the same problem with steve, but that's literally not what happened

she DID say she loved steve. TO HIS FACE. in the first episode of season 2. he said "i love you" and she said "i love you too"

SHE LIED TO HIS FACE.

she couldn't say she loved him when she was explicitly asked wether it was true or not, even though she clearly said it many times before. she couldn't say it when she was confronted with wether she actually means it or not, because she knows she doesn't.

it has nothing to do with the wheeler family and everything to do with nancy's feelings towards steve and jonathan and her running from her true self.

and the same thing happens with mike. he says he loves el, and then for some reason can't say it anymore, even though he wanted to tell her in season 3. el says "you don't love me anymore?" because mike had already said it once before.

saw someone on instagram point out that all the suspected endgame couples are unconventional love stories for the time period.

joyce and hopper are divorcee's.

max and lucas are in an interracial relationship.

robin and vickie are sapphics.

jonathan and nancy depict the woman taking the lead in the relationship while the man supports her.

it would make so much sense if the final endgame couple would be mike and will.

One of the cutest things about S4 Jancy is actually what most people complain about and I find that funny cause it gets misinterpreted a lot. Jonathan Byers, would let Nancy Wheeler go. Not because he’s fallen out of love with her, not because they can’t make the relationship work, but because he REFUSES to hold her back from her dreams. He knows Nancy is destined for greatness and would do anything he could to help her get there. Even if that means giving her up. He’s giving up one of the few people who hasn’t seen him as a freak in Hawkins. He could be selfish about it, but he can’t bare the thought of Nancy putting all that weight onto herself and I think that’s adorable 🙁

i don’t understand how people constantly say Jonathan is a bad boyfriend, when he’s one of the only people who has ever cared about Nancy’s dreams and aspirations besides Karen. Have they had their issues? Sure, but to say he’s a terrible boyfriend when all he has ever wanted for her was the absolute best, is crazy.

yk i just thought of something

this is gonna be a bit hard to explain but it’s about the parallels between jancy/stancy and byler/mileven.

so there’s plenty of people that ship jancy or stancy but no one REALLY knows what’s gonna happen. same thing with byler (except we basically know now thanks noah)

stancy resembles mileven so much to me and jancy resembles byler. and i think they did that for a reason. because i think jancy is gonna be endgame and i also think byler will be endgame.

my reasoning being they resemble each other. they represent a healthy relationship.

mileven and stancy on the other hand (in my opinion) resemble an unhealthy maybe even toxic relationship. they both have their own reasons as to why the relationship didn’t work. nancy because she liked someone else and steve- well im not sure what his issue was but she had an issue with him not addressing the issues around them?

oh doesn’t that sound familiar (i’m realizing this as i’m typing).

same/similar thing with mileven. one loves someone else (i think we all know who that is) and the other wants him to address the issues at hand, which some of these she doesn’t even know about (i think we know what that is)

so ik this was mostly rambling and me having realizations in the middle of saying words which is how much of my conversation is anyways, but the point is; these four specific relationships parallel each other and it’s clearly for a reason.
