It was announced late yesterday that Jay Briscoe (real name Jamin Pugh) of the legendary tag team The Briscoe Brothers had passed away after being involved in a fatal car crash.

The 38-year old was a 20-year veteran in the Pro Wrestling business holding tag team titles with his brother Mark all over the world. They are currently the Ring of Honor tag team champions having defeated FTR in a brutal double dog collar match at ROH Final Battle.

May Jamin Rest in Peace. We send out condolences and thoughts to the Pugh family.

Obviously, I didn’t know Jamin Pugh, but I did know Jay Briscoe. The man that along with his brother brought so many happy smiles to my face. Today I shed tears of sadness over a man who brought me so much happiness. His energy and charisma never failed to lift me up if I was having a bad day and unfortunately today I mourn the loss of someone I never truly met but that in more than one way helped me out through my darkest times.

I personally believe that this fragile yet gorgeous life is just a brief passage of all of us who walk the earth and that something beautiful yet unknown, and hopefully better, awaits us once we cross the bridge that leads us to the next journey.

I make these words the outlet for my pain so that hopefully only the joyful and happy memories can remain. And I truly wish that Jay’s words do come true: DO reach for the sky, boy. Have a safe trip and hopefully someday I can remember your face with a happy smile as it used to be. Thank you for making my days better and thank you for shedding your light on my way whenever I needed the most 💐
