The Academy Is… – Almost Here
The record that started it all for The Academy Is, and made an instant star out of vocalist William Beckett, has turned 20 years old. In the flurry of bands signed to the label Fueled By Ramen, The Academy Is seemed to be one of the more immediate success stories. The band had formed in 2003, put out their self-titled EP in 2004 and would craft enough material to release their formal full-length debut, Almost Here, in early 2005. The set was produced by James Paul Wisner and he does a nice job of accentuating the band’s strengths. The Academy Is would be staples on the Warped Tour and would later release two subsequent full-length records before going on hiatus in October 2011. Almost Here spawned three singles in “Checkmarks,” “Slow Down,” and “The Phrase That Pays” and by October 2009 the set had sold over 250,000 units. There is something immediately charming about The Academy Is on their debut Almost Here. From the call to action of “Attention” that rallies their fans much like a teacher grabbing their class’ focus back to the front of the room, to the steady beat and bounce of “Season,” there was a lot to love early on. “Slow Down” showcased the band’s unique skill in crafting radio-ready emo anthems and Beckett’s gradual build-up to the powerful chorus was definitely star-worthy. The dual-guitar attack of AJ LaTrace and Mike Carden put a greater emphasis on the punch they could pack in their power chords and the guitar style of each band member nicely complemented Beckett’s vocals. The middle section of the LP begins with “The Phrase That Pays” that starts off with a steady riff before drummer Mike DelPrincipe adds in some kick drums almost like The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army.” “Black Mamba” packs plenty of venom behind Beckett’s pointed lyrics while the band rallies around his every word. The slow-burn of the verses found on “Skeptics and True Believers” makes for a nice contrast in the speedy chorus and remains a solid deep cut in the band’s discography. Even more straight-forward songs like “Classifieds” remain captivating due to Beckett’s impressive vocal range and overall charming performance. “Checkmarks” sounds exactly like what you would want a strong lead single to feel and sound like in an era of bands dominated by great guitar parts and solid hooks. Beckett’s vocals continue to shine in the vivid storytelling of “Down and Out” while the title track is a remarkable closing statement for a band that had only been around since 2003. The Academy Is...almost never was. Front man William Beckett and guitarist Mike Carden grew up as rivals, in separate bands on the Chicago local music scene. William eventually left his band, wanting to take music more seriously and looking for someone who shared his passion. Mike's band broke up also and the two gradually found themselves talking more and more; engulfed in amazing conversations about music. After realizing they were very much alike, they decided to try their hand at writing songs together and The Academy Is...was born.
William and Mike share a love of the classics - Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, U2. These elements, along with eclectic alternative influences like Weezer and Death Cab For Cutie provide the foundation for Almost Here, the debut release from The Academy Is... Produced by James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, Further Seems Forever, Underoath), Almost Here is a love letter to music itself; a smart, honest record about growing up, having dreams and making them come true.
On Almost Here, The Academy Is...shoots from the hip and aims for the heart. "It's an extreme, magnified reflection of who we are as individuals." William explains, "Lyrically, I try to capture experiences we all have, and genuinely try to portray the ways we respond to them." From the first notes of the naturally perfect opening track, "Attention" to the raw, explosive "Checkmarks" the album bursts with infectious energy. Each song is a perfect pop picture that is both self-portrait and mirror.
Since William and Mike first came together in 2002, The Academy Is...have paved their way with lightening speed. After adding Adam Siska on bass and a second guitarist and drummer, the full band headed into the studio and recorded an EP for Chicago label LLR Records. Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy heard it and was so impressed that he convinced his label, Fueled By Ramen, to fly out and see them. Fueled By Ramen immediately signed the young band and put them to work recording their full-length debut.
Mike and William holed up in a remote apartment in a suburb of Chicago, writing, collaborating and discovering who they were as musicians. They wrote the record essentially about the record; about being isolated, broke and exhausted but utterly exhilarated at the same time. "I'll sing you something you won't forget" William challenges on "Season," a song about having one chance to make it and really wanting to move people with music. These themes run throughout the ten tracks on Almost Here, as does the desire to break down stereotypes and be heard as themselves. "Almost Here is a great snapshot of where our lives are right now," William says, "We really wanted to speak to people and tell our story the right way."
After six months Mike and William headed to Florida to record the appropriately titled Almost Here. "We aren't quite 'here' yet," William explains, "We are too young to be content and to have everything figured out. It's all about pushing each other and each other's boundaries. There is always more to accomplish."
In 2004 the band underwent a lineup change, finally securing Tom Conrad as second guitar/backing vocalist and Andy Mrotek on drums. They hit the road hard, touring with Fall Out Boy, Something Corporate, Midtown, Matchbook Romance, Motion City Soundtrack and Armor For Sleep. They perfected their live shows, with William coming into his own as a confident and charismatic front man.

It wasn’t long until the band announced they had reunited with producer James Paul Wisner to record their first new music since full length Close the Distance in 2012.
Formed in 2007, Go Radio made music and toured the world until 2013. After an extended hiatus, Jason Lancaster, Matt Poulos, Steven Kopacz and Alex Reed made an announcement:
“It’s been six years. In August of 2013 we played our final show in Houston, Texas. The four of us wouldn’t all be in the same place again until July of this year.
Six years is a long time. We each had a long way to go to get to this point, but time has a way of putting things into perspective. For each of us, Go Radio continues to be among our biggest sources of pride. Let’s go back in time for a second: It’s the year 2000, we’re well past the fear of Y2K, you’re watching TRL and host Carson Daly introduces you to a new hard rock band known as Linkin Park. 
Little did you know then, over the course of 20 years, that young upstart band was going to single-handedly change not only the landscape of rock but also hip-hop music forever.  
Now in the year 2020, with their 12x multi-platinum debut album Hybrid Theory hitting the big 2-0, artists have been showing their love for the record (and the late Chester Bennington) by releasing renditions of tracks like “Crawling,” “One Step Closer” and more. 
Adding to that impressive list of covers is St Louis rapper Retro Champ and his brand new version of “A Place For My Head” featuring Isaac Etter of This Is Falling. 
Discussing the idea behind the new cover as well as his appreciation for Linkin Park, the emerging lyricist said, “With the 20 year anniversary for Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory coming soon I wanted to do something special for it. I grew up listening to Linkin Park. They really inspired me when I was coming up.” 
Champ added, “Making this track was a team effort. The track was produced by J.T. Ibanez and Isaac Etter. Isaac Etter not only sings on the track, he programmed and recorded all the instruments for it. The final touches came from veteran producer, James Paul Wisner (Underoath, Paramore, Hands Like Houses). James really brought the track to life with an amazing mix. The video was [also] filmed by J.T. Ibanez.”

Underoath – They’re Only Chasing Safety
It’s pretty amazing to think just how captivating Underoath were on their fourth studio album called They’re Only Chasing Safety. The album was first released on June 15, 2004 via Solid State Records and was produced by James Paul Wisner, and surprisingly enough, only had two official singles released from the set in “Reinventing Your Exit” and “It’s Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door.” The LP has since been certified Gold, and remains one of the most influential records in the emo/hardcore scene. After their third record, The Changing of Times, nearly half of the band members had changed for this “version” of the band, now considered to be the “classic” lineup. They’re Only Chasing Safety, to this day, remains an adrenaline shot to the ears with its mix of post-hardcore, emo, electronica, and punk rock. The album features a creative blend of clean/screamed vocals by Spencer Chamberlain and drummer/vocalist Aaron Gillespie, while the rest of the band members make their presence felt in several different spots on the record. They’re Only Chasing Safety, and their subsequent album of Define The Great Line, are consistently pointed to by fans of Underoath as their best work, and the band can look back on this 20th anniversary proudly knowing that they captured lightning in a bottle at just the right moment in time. I first got wind of Underoath when they opened up for Coheed & Cambria on their headlining stint of dates during Coheed’s In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 touring cycle, and I found Underoath’s ability to grab the crowd by the throat and never let up utterly breathtaking. The band’s strength came in the form of understanding the parts of their songs that would best lend themselves well to moments in their set, while the songs themselves still stand the test of time to this day. Gillespie and Chamberlain’s vocal cadence and timing was top-notch at this early stage of the “classic lineup,” and their chemistry between each other was undeniable. Chris Dudley’s keys/electronica elements blended well with the dual-guitar attack from Tim McTague and James Smith, while bassist Grant Brandell would add in some great bass lines as well to round out Underoath’s attack. From the opening bars of “Young and Aspiring,” it became crystal clear that Underoath would live up to the mantra of the track’s closing lyrics of, “This is my panic! / This is my call to arms!” The band inspired a generation of fans that would follow them to this day and celebrate this momentous album with pride. ”A Boy Brushed Red…Living In Black And White” followed in the set with the now-legendary opening lyrics of “Can you feel your heartbeat racing? / Can you taste the fear in her sweat? / You’ve done this wrong, it’s too far gone / These sheets tell of regret / I admit that I’m just a fool for you / I am just a fool for you,” and it was clear that Underoath had grown leads and bounds from the early days of the band. Underoath would highlight their ability to paint with wide and vivid colors on subsequent songs like “The Impact of Reason” that accentuated the chemistry that the band’s rhythm section had with each other early on. When the screamed vocals by Chamberlain cleared way for Gillespie’s clean vocals on the chorus, it was like the parting of clouds offering a glimmer of sunshine. Even songs like the instrumental “The Blue Note” would offer an early glimpse into Underoath’s ability to craft atmospheric tones on their records that they would later perfect on Define the Great Line. “It’s Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door” remains a great example of Underoath knowing how to create a certain tone in their music and capture that moment with the utmost energy and passion. The bridge of “I’m drowning in my sleep” remains as haunting as it was intended to be on its initial delivery, and the band kicks into another gear on this section. The end of world revolution
This is a particularly interesting article on the end of the Bilderberg era in light of some of the rumors that are supposedly coming out of the most recent Bilderberg meeting. And notice how it all just keeps going back to Leon Trotsky:
The beginning of the end of the Bilderberg/Soros vision is in sight. The Old Order will cling on, even to the last of its fingernails. The Bilderberg vision is the notion of multi-cultural, international cosmopolitanism that surpasses old-time nationalism; heralding the end of frontiers; and leading toward a US-led, ‘technocratic’, global economic and political governance. Its roots lie with figures such as James Burnham, an anti-Stalin, former Trotskyite, who, writing as early as 1941, advocated for the levers of financial and economic power being placedin the hands of a management class: an élite – which alone would be capable of running the contemporary state – thanks to this élite’s market and financial technical nous. It was, bluntly, a call for an expert, technocratic oligarchy.
Burnham renounced his allegiance to Trotsky and Marxism, in all its forms in 1940, but he would take the tactics and strategies for infiltration and subversion, (learned as a member of Leon Trotsky’s inner circle) with him, and would elevate the Trotskyist management of ‘identity politics’ to become the fragmentation ‘device’ primed to explode national culture onto a new stage, in the Western sphere. His 1941 book, “The Managerial Revolution,” caught the attention of Frank Wisner, subsequently, a legendary CIA figure, who saw in the works of Burnham and his colleague a fellow Trotskyite, Sidney Hook, the prospect of mounting an effective alliance of former Trotskyites against Stalinism.
But, additionally, Wisner perceived its merits as the blueprint for a CIA-led, pseudo-liberal, US-led global order. (‘Pseudo’, because, as Burnham articulated clearly, in The Machiavellians, Defenders of Freedom, his version of freedom meant anything but intellectual freedom or those freedoms defined by America’s Constitution. “What it really meant was conformity and submission”).
In short, (as Paul Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Gould have noted), “by 1947, James Burnham’s transformation from Communist radical, to New World Order American conservative was complete. His Struggle for the World, [converted into a memo for the US Office of Strategic Services (OSS, the forerunner of CIA)], had done a ‘French Turn’ on Trotsky’s permanent Communist revolution, and turned it into a permanent battle plan for a global American empire. All that was needed to complete Burnham’s dialectic was a permanent enemy, and that would require a sophisticated psychological campaign to keep the hatred of Russia alive, “for generations”.
What has this to do with us today? A ‘Burnham Landscape’ of apparently, ‘centrist’ European political parties, apparently independent think-tanks, institutions, and NATO structures, was seeded by CIA – in the post war era of anti-Sovietism – across Europe, and the Middle East – as part of Burnham’s ‘battle plan’ for a US-led, global ‘order’. It is precisely this élite: i.e. Burnham’s oligarchic technocracy, that is facing political push-back today to the point at which the Liberal Order feels that it is struggling for its very survival against “the enemy in the White House”, as the editor of Spiegel Online has termed President Trump.

Sure he did. The Scarlet Pill, redder than red, is to grasp the fact that the Trotskyite communists, the World Revolutionaries, the Neoliberal world order, the New World Order, Bilderberg, the neoconservatives, the Never Trumpers, NATO, the European Unionists, and the Silicon Valley technocracy are all different aspects of the same thing. And their latest vision for global empire has observably failed, and failed faster and more conclusively than anyone would have imagined.
It will be very interesting to learn if the elite can learn from its failures or not. There have been rumors floating around that the European migration is to be reversed for fear that the whole thing will come crashing down amidst a series of large-scale civil wars. Maybe saner minds have prevailed, maybe the God-Emperor is behind it, or maybe it's just fake news.
Interesting times, to be sure.

No wonder they hate him. All those prepped and pampered princelings waiting to step onto the gravy-train are now watching the world move on without the requirement of their "leadership".
