Respect to Jim Cameron. That man really said ā€œIā€™m gonna make my special interest everyoneā€™s problemā€ and made Titanic. Obsessed.

1500 people went into the sea when Titanic sank from under us. There were 20 boats floating nearby and only one came back. One. Six were saved from the water, myself included. Six out of 1500. Afterward, the 700 people in the boats had nothing to, but wait, wait to die, wait to live, wait for an absolution that would never come.

One movie Iā€™ll defend till my dying days is the Titanic. Nothing can make me hate it, itā€™s literally my all time favorite movie and I could spend hours talking about it.
That leads me to my next point, IF ANYONE BELIEVES THAT JACK CAN FIT ON THE DOOR FRAME (it was a door frame not a door, literally one look at it and you would know that) IS STUPID!!!
Firstly, do you people just forget logic, physics, BUOYANCY?! Secondly, one birdā€™s eye view of that door frame you would know you wouldnā€™t be able to fit another person. Thirdly, THE LITERAL DIRECTOR, JAMES CAMERON, HAS PROVEN THAT JACK WOULDNā€™T HAVE FIT!!
You all just sound so stupid and wrong when you try to prove that he could when he obviously couldnā€™t. Also not to mention when Jack first brought Rose over to the frame, he tried to get on it, I donā€™t know if itā€™s because people miss it or ignore it but itā€™s there, he tried to get on but the frame started to sink and they both couldnā€™t get on it. Another thing, and this may just because I love the movie and the story too much, but Jack had to die, itā€™s literally the whole point of the movie. So even if he could fit, it changes the whole movie.
I could rant more but this is already too long, so if you actually read this, thank you for coming to my ted talk.
Donā€™t even try to tell me Jack could fit because he couldnā€™t!

After watching the deleted scenes of Titanic (1997) again on YouTube last night, thereā€™s one little scene that I wish they would have kept in because maybe it would have ended that stupid debate about Jack and the goddamn door.
Like Jack tries to get on and the door TIPS OVER, and in the deleted scene in question, a man tries to approach the door asking for a chance on it, but Jack stops him because it can only support Roseā€™s weight. And before Jack moves to the front, he kind of nods and accepts his fate. From the moment that the ship hit the iceberg, Jackā€™s goal is making sure Rose gets out alive. He doesnā€™t care about himself. Rose is his main priority.
And the whole ā€œthey could have kept switchingā€ thing needs to end as well because Jack never would have let Rose get back in that water. He accepted his fate, and itā€™s high time the rest of you did, as well.
Also, Jack surviving would have destroyed the point of the movie which is to make each day of your life count because you never know how long you have and how your life can be taken in a blink of an eye.
And if you ever need a lesson in irony, itā€™s Rose saying sheā€™ll never let go of the promise Jack made her swear to just moments before, while needing to let go of him.
And those are my Titanic thoughts of the night.

know who deserves more credit? Lizzie Calvert from Titanic
Tumblr media
This woman became care taker of her elderly grandmother, which in and of itself is a big task. But then with NO warning, Grandma was like, "Whoops, someone found my nudes, looks like we need to fly out to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean."
And Lizzie was like, "okay, Nana, whatever you say."
Then she has to sit in a room full of men listening to how grandma banged a homeless guy in the back of a taxi cab.
Tumblr media
And not once does that woman complain.
Also in the original deleted ending she finds out that Grandma was just casually holding onto a priceless necklace and just tosses it overboard and Lizzie's all like, "Oh, that's nice."
Lizzie is the true hero of this story

September 1, 1998: Titanic (1997) is released on VHS.
Like its theatrical release, the film was a huge seller on home video, selling over 25 million copies in the US in its first three months and eventually becoming the best-selling live action VHS title of all time.

I do not care what James Cameron said. There was enough room on that fucking door. Rose was just being selfish.

I just saw the trailer for the new titanic movie, and I can't stress enough how much it feels like an AO3 fanfic adapted into a movie. I can't believe they're making this.
