i have been wanting to do a Jalex edit with Wildflower for so long but then my computer broke. dont ask me what the common thread between these clips are.. the bounces in WOWP timeline in these clips is craazy. i was really basing this all on vibes and vibes alone

anyways anyways my general vibe for this edit when i made it is that Justin is sad and pining waaah. if you've read the AMAZING (legitimately life-altering) fanfic "OTP" by Save vs. Magic, I kept thinking of when Justin writes fanfiction to work through his complicated feelings for Alex (you really need to read this if you haven't, it's amazingly written)

tw for mason's face sorry. love Gregg, but the fact that the show's main love interest for Alex was a 300+ year old werewolf that hung around a high school and dated her when she was 16 is craaazy. (yes--same with Juliet) i think we're supposed to suspend disbelief (one would say WOWP is perhaps a childrens show. idk about that tho), buuut talk about a literal wolf in sheep's clothing !!?? mason greyback u are a predator fr. i didnt even like Malex when i was growing up, they were so toxic

Does anyone remember a fic called Dark things implied (pretty sure this is what it was called, but I could be wrong)? It was mainly Jamex, but also Milex and set in a gangster au. It was a whole novel, and sooo well written with such brilliantly fleshed out characters and plot points.

I want to read it again, but I can't find it anywhere. Can someone please help a girlie out?

Why are you nervous? James thought. Keep it together, Blake. 

He glanced back over his shoulder at Aaron and Spencer sitting in the corner of the coffee shop. It was almost like the old days in high school, grabbing coffee after class, except Spencer was nearly as tall as Aaron instead of small enough to sit on his lap. It’s going to be fine, he told himself firmly. It’s not like they’re going to say no or anything.

He paused. Oh god. What if they say no?

“I have a venti cold brew and a venti caramel crunch frappucino for James?” the barista called. James picked up the drinks quickly and headed back to the table, nearly tripping over his own shoes. His heart was pounding so hard he could feel it in his ears. Why was he so nervous?

“All right, there we go,” he said, trying to sound normal and cheerful as he set the drinks down. “I think I got everything. Anyone, uh…want anything else?”

Aaron raised an eyebrow. “I think we’re good. You didn’t get anything for yourself?”

“No, I’m fine, I had…I’ve had too much caffeine today already,” James said. That wasn’t entirely a lie, he’d been awake since three in the morning and had made himself coffee at home once he realized he wasn’t going to go back to sleep.

Spencer carefully unwrapped his straw and rolled the paper up neatly before jamming it into his drink. “You know, the average person can safely consume up to four hundred milligrams of caffeine per day,” he said. “Then you can potentially cause permanent damage to the liver.”

“Good to know,” James said. Now he wished he’d gotten a drink, at least to have something to fidget with.

“So…is there a reason you wanted to get coffee with us and then…not get any coffee?” Aaron asked. 

Oh god. It’s happening. 

“Sort of,” James said. “I mean. Yes. Yes, there’s a reason. I…uh-” Aaron and Spencer eyed him with eerily similar skeptical expressions. James swallowed hard. “I wanted to ask you guys if it was cool if I proposed to Alex.”

That was not the phrasing he had rehearsed. “I mean, not that I need your permission, really, she doesn’t need that, I just thought it would be nice if I- maybe not permission, more like your blessing- but also maybe you guys could help with the proposal because this is such a huge deal- and also-”

“Jesus, James, breathe,” Aaron said. “You’re going to propose to Alex?”

James dropped his head in his hands. “I can’t keep my brain on track,” he said, his voice muffled. “Why is this terrifying?”

“Yeah, it’s not like she’s going to say no,” Aaron said. 

“I might say no.”

James whipped around, his mouth dropping open. “What do you mean, you might say no?” he said.

Spencer rested his chin in his hand and stirred his straw in his frappucino. “I mean, Alex is my big sister,” he said airily. “I have to look out for her best interests.”

“Her best interests?” James spluttered. “She- Spencer, we’ve been dating since senior year. We live together!”

“And it’s taken you this long to propose?”

“That is a good point,” Aaron mused.

“We didn’t want to get engaged until we were done with undergrad! We agreed on that!”

“How do I know you’re going to keep my sister in the life to which she has grown accustomed?”

“We’re currently both broke college students, and I’m going to medical school! I feel like our lives are going to get better after this!”

Spencer took another sip of his drink. “I don’t know…”

“Spencer, I think James is going to have a heart attack,” Aaron said.

To James’s eternal relief, Spencer broke out into a bright grin. “I couldn’t resist,” he said. “Yes, it’s cool if you propose to Alex. More than cool, actually.”

“Oh, thank god,” James said, slumping back in his seat and pressing his hand to his heart.

Aaron squeezed his shoulder. “You don’t need our permission, but yeah, please propose to Alex, she’ll be thrilled,” he said.

“I hope so,” James said.

Spencer shifted around happily in his seat, tucking one long leg under him. “Have you picked a ring out?” he asked. “She’s got a secret Pinterest board, I heard her telling Emily about it.”

“She doesn’t want a diamond,” Aaron added.

“Oh, yeah, for sure,” James said. “No, I’ve got a good idea of what I’m looking for in a ring. I think the hardest part is figuring out how exactly I’m going to propose.”

“We can help with that part,” Aaron grinned, and James grinned back, relief coursing through his veins like cool water.
