Why could Ravana, who lifted Mount Kailash, not lift the bow in Mata Sita's Swayamvara?

Arrogant Ravana, who lifted Mount Kailash, could not lift the bow in Sita Swayamvar because of this. Because Ravan did not have any sense of service.

Such was the bow: Lord Shiva's bow was very powerful and miraculous. The bow that Shiva had made, clouds used to burst and mountains used to move. It seemed as if an earthquake had occurred. This bow was very powerful. All the three cities of Tripurasura were destroyed with one of his arrows. The name of this bow was Pinaka. After the end of the period of gods and goddesses, this bow was handed over to Devraj Indra.

The gods gave it to Devraj, the ancestor of King Janak. Nimi's eldest son Devraj was among the ancestors of King Janak. Shiva-Dhanush was safe with King Janak as his heritage. No one had the ability to lift this giant bow of his, but Lord Rama lifted it and climbed its string and broke it in one stroke.

In Shri Ram Charitmanas there is a chapai:-

"उठहु राम भंजहु भव चापा, मेटहु तात जनक परितापाI"

Meaning- Guru Vishwamitra, seeing Janakji very upset and disappointed, tells Shri Ramji that O son Shriram, get up and break this bow in the form of "Bhav Sagar" and take away the pain of Janak.

There is a word in this chaupai 'Bhav Chapa' which means that to lift this bow, it was not power but love and nirankar that was required. It was an elusive and divine bow. Divine qualities were needed to lift it. No arrogant person could lift him.

That's why Ravana could not lift the bow.

Ravana was an arrogant man. He could lift Mount Kailash but not the bow. He could not even move the bow. The forest had gone to Dhanush with the pride of an arrogant and powerful person. The more Ravana used to apply power to that bow, that bow used to become heavier. There all the kings were defeated by their power and arrogance.

Lord Rama raised the bow in a moment.

When Lord Shri Ram's turn came, he understood that it was not an ordinary bow but the bow of Lord Shiva. That's why first of all he bowed down to Dhanush. Then he circumambulated the bow and paid him full respect. The heaviness of the bow automatically disappeared in front of Lord Shriram's humility and purity and he lifted that bow with love and climbed its string and as soon as he bowed it, the bow broke on its own.

It is said that just as Sita used to lift the bow without exerting any force by meditating on Lord Shiva, in the same way Shriram also tried to lift the bow and succeeded.

Amitabh Bachchan, Vicky-Katrina To Attend Ram Temple Event

The consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, a 50-year-project of the BJP and long awaited by many, will take place today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fly to Ayodhya to participate in the ceremony, which will be telecast live.

Film stars and Bollywood celebrities, invited for the grand consecration ceremony at the newly-constructed Ram Temple in Ayodhya, have started arriving in the temple town. Actors Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Randeep Hooda and Madhuri Dixit were seen at the Mumbai and Chennai airport ahead of their flights to Ayodhya.

Dressed in a white kurta-pajama, megastar Amitabh Bachchan was spotted in a car outside the Mumbai airport on Monday morning before he left for Ayodhya.

Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar waved at photographers as he left Mumbai for Ayodhya. The cricket legend was among the several VIPs invited for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple.

Telugu actors Ram Charan and Chiranjeevi were seen boarding a private plane in Hyderabad for Ayodhya, dressed in traditional attire. Surrounded by security personnel, the two actors waved at fans as they walked on the tarmac to board the plane along with their families.

South superstars Rajinikanth and Dhanush flew out to Ayodhya, a day before the grand opening of the Ram Temple. The actors were seen swarmed by fans as they reached Chennai airport for their flight.

Newlyweds Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram greeted media outside the airport before flying to Ayodhya. The actor joined in on "Jai Shri Ram" chants with the paparazzi. On being asked about the inauguration, Mr Hooda said, "It's a big day for India."

"Kashmir Files" actor Anupam Kher also flew to Ayodhya on Sunday. The actor posted a video of himself inside the flight with a saffron-coloured flag in his hand. "I have reached Ayodhya with all the Ram devotees. There was an atmosphere of great devotion in the plane. We are blessed. Our country is blessed! Jai Shri Ram!," the actor said in a post on Instagram.

Bollywood couples Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal-Katrina Kaif and actor Madhuri Dixit with husband Shriram Nene were also spotted outside the Mumbai airport in traditional wear before they flew to Ayodhya. The couples, wearing sarees and kurta pajamas, greeted the paparazzi with folded hands.

"Queen" Actor Kangana Ranaut reached Ayodhya on Sunday and took part in a cleanliness drive at an Ayodhya temple. Dressed in a red and gold silk saree, the actor was seen sweeping the floors at the Hanuman Garhi Temple. "Ayodhya has been decorated like a bride. Bhajans and yagya are being organised at several places. It feels like we have reached 'Dev Lok'…We cannot say anything about those who do not want to come…It feels really good to be in Ayodhya right now," she told news agency ANI.
